Best Griddle For Gas Grill (2026 Updated)

I ordered this griddle online a few days ago and received it today. It appealed to me because of the size and price. Delivery was very quick. The specifications online said I ordered a griddle that is 15″ by 20″ which would be perfect for by BBQ.

The griddle I received is much smaller. It is only 19″ by 11. 5″ which leaves it with a substantially smaller cooking space than I thought I had purchased. I felt like I had ordered a 65″ TV but then they delivered a 42″ TV.

Very disappointing. I am not happy with this purchase and do not think that the product description was accurate. I could have gotten a better deal than I did for a griddle of this size somewhere else.

I would not order this griddle if you are hoping to receive what is advertised.

Product is very well made and sturdy. I was pleased with the results when cooking Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner items on the griddle. I would say the only thing that I did not take into account the first time I used it was that you need to make sure the grill / griddle has to be pretty level.

If you do not have a fairly level surface the oil runs off the griddle surface. Once I corrected that issue, I have been able to use it just fine. I would recommend or buy this product again.

I got one about 7 years ago and use this on my Margaritaville hitch mount grill, which is basically a 20,000 BTU sunbeam grill that mounts to a trailer hitch, so you can use this with just about any gas grill that is the right size.

Since I got this I now cook everything on it and don’t use the grill’s grate at all, except to hold the sizzle-Q. At tailgates we start with breakfast at 7A, fried eggs, scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, etc.

At lunch it’s usually brats / burgers / hot dogs. For dinner, lamb chops, steaks, shishkabob, etc. Clean up is pretty easy, add cold water to the hot griddle and scrape quickly with a spatula. Put damp paper towels in the grease tray to collect grease and toss out.

I use this with a portable 2 burner grill for camping. Great for cooking with that on the go setup and makes for easy cleanup. We have been making our burgers on it as well because they retain more moisture and get a nice sear.

Well made and heavy. Fits grill perfectly. Used a couple times for smash burgers. Got griddle to 425 with burners on medium heat but as soon as I put 3 burgers on heat dropped to 325 and from then on no good sears on the burgers that came after.

Cleaning is tough. They are heavy, in fact so heavy my wife couldn’t maneuver them to clean. Not a sexist comment, just letting you know that it pretty hard to through them around in the sink. Would like to just scrape them and steam them with water but the instructions explicitly so don’t do this.

I actually ended sending them back and bought a blackstone to add to my cooking options. Love my Weber grill but these griddles really didn’t work for our needs.

I have used seasoned cast iron griddles on top of grill grates for years with great success and easy clean up. But decided to spring for this custom fit Griddle to go with my new Genesis II S-345. It is very possibly the worst Weber grill accessory I’ve ever purchased.

The porcelain enamel surface is very difficult to clean. I followed instructions and allowed grill to preheat and oiled food, not griddle, but still find that food sticks and removing the residual mess is not as simple as spaying on some water in scraping.

It requires using a non-abrasive scour pad and Dawn dishwashing soap to get it clean. Would be so much better if this was made using seasoned cast iron rather than porcelain enamel. The seasoned cast iron griddles I typically use just rinse right off without scrubbing.

Very disappointed in the $95 piece of junk that can’t be returned unless it has a manufacturing defect. This is, in my opinion, a design defect.

I owned myself a grille for ages and with all of them I owned, I had to Jerry rig multiple cut outs of cast iron to the inside of the grille. In some cases, if the grille was hot enough it would melt the zip ties holding the cast iron to the grille.

When it gets in the food, it starts to taste a little like burnt rubber. When I got myself a Weber grille I saw that it had a griddle insert so I had to test it out. And to my surprise it fit without the need of zip ties and my family was very cheerful that our food will no longer taste a little like burnt rubber.

Weber half hotplate – great buy forced upon me as my Baby Weber came with only two half grills. Try cooking a fresh egg on a grill plate – tricky is not the word that comes to mind – more like “impossible” suits the situation better.

I can now have my eggs and bacon early in the morning whilst camping, without having to build a fire and not eating until mid morning. One word of warning – don’t use two hotplates at the same time on a gas bar-b-que due to danger of gas buildup and explosion.

This is a great device for my baby Weber (I think I have the Q1100). I like how it converts only half the grill, so another one would make nearly a full skillet. One side is flat, the other has the ridges.

I also like how they nest inside the grill; you can leave these on the grill with the lid closed. We’ve used it a couple times and it’s great.

This little griddle is money. Can slap six slices of bacon on it and have a decent morning. The extra grease goes through the slots and rolls down the side without trashing your BBQ. Clever design. Frying three or four eggs after the bacon is effortless.

I’ll probably do it again tomorrow. The only problem with this griddle is the punishment it lays on my six-pack.

I just wrapped up a 5 day camping trip and used my new flat top griddle multiple times every single day. I absolutely LOVE it. It was a total game changer. A few tips that are probably pretty obvious: even though it’s seasoned plan on using oil or butter; also it gets super hot so turn it down to low or low/medium; lastly, I recommend having this in addition to a smaller stove that you can boil on.

I used the Everest and the Explorer together with the full burner. It was perfect and kept me from needing to remove the griddle any time I wanted to boil water or heat up food that doesn’t need a flat surface.

You should also plan on it being really dirty when you take it off the stove so don’t wear your favorite jacket or shirt. Other than that, it is amazing and I’m so glad I made the investment. Totally changed our food experience.

Great Stove! Twice as much power as the comparable Blackstone. I use this almost every day. I often use the full 2 burner griddle attachment, but also use my cast iron skillets. I love this to cook at high heat and not smoke up my house.

My favorite is using it for smash burgers, hashbrowns, and charing Brussel sprouts. It packs up fast and easy when I take it to the beach house on the weekends. The carrying case is a nice addition if you plan to move it a lot but is definitely not necessary is you don’t want to buy it.

Also, in terms of customer service responsiveness, friendliness, overall satisfaction, and product quality. Camp Chef experience was 10,000x better than Blackstone experience. I’m 100% Camp Chef.

SG90 24″ X 16″ Flattop is perfect for my grill. I still have one burner and my shear available for use. Cooking at an even 350° that grilled performed perfect. No warping, easy clean-up, easy re-seasoning and storage.

The two large disk under surface do the job of spreading the heat across the entire surface! Definitely worth the price at Sportsmans Warehouse!.

Garbage no a good product

This is a great edition to get a flat top option with an already quality grill. Just like any cast iron cookware, take time to season it as directed otherwise you will be out of luck. I used avocado oil for this as it can withstand higher temps.

Since seasoning it, I’ve made bacon and French toast, as well as smash burgers. LOVE IT. Remember to only use a hard plastic scraper as needed for cleaning, but I recommend pouring a touch of water on griddle after use to free any sticky food.

HOT water rinse and then dry and apply thin coat of oil after each use before storing. I will buy more optional grates to try.

I’ve used this griddle got a few weeks now and it has exceeded my expectations. Thus far I’ve made bacon, smash burgers, and philly cheesesteaks -each to rave reviews. The cooking surface is of decent size and heats more evenly than I expected.

That’s not to say there aren’t any cold and hot spots- there are, but its manageable. I find myself closing the grill lid to keep the cook surface temp where I want it, but other than that, its a solid add-on and extended the variety of what I can cook outdoors without buying a blackstone.

It’s HEAVY; not easy to season and although my grill is level, all the fluids drain to the back, not up front where the hole is. It’s not an item that’s easily swapped out like some of the other pieces are and I have NO idea how/where I’m going to store it when I need more grill space or the added grill zone.

Made bacon, pancakes and breakfast burritos on it so far, so it does cook nice once you get the temp tuned in. We will see over time how it holds up.

I purchased this griddle because it is stainless steel and the price was great. I have used it several times on different meats and food and I love using it. The griddle is heavy duty and we’ll made.

Easy to use and clean. You can use it on a gas or charcoal grill,even on a fire pit for hot dogs. I highly recommend this griddle it is versatile and well worth the money. Would make great gifts. Rolando Lig.

Im a perfectionist. This thing is under rated. 1/8 SS it does not warp under high heat, its heavy. Its huge. Thats what we want. It has a drain up front folks. The drip edge? Come on. I got a quote from a job shop for the same thing.

$545. Ok i have to say something negative. The handles really do suck. Need verticle spring handles. But buy those seperate have someone weld them on and boom you dont need that blackstone anymore. This is for sure the way to go for you all diy people wondering about it.

I purchased this to make Smashburgers on my bbq. I was very impressed with the quality craftsmanship. This is easy to clean stainless steel. The corners are smooth. I found it to be a great for stir fry and hibachi style foods.

Used it for the first time yesterday, You may have to set grill at lower temp. because the stainless steel griddle holds the heat constant and well distributed. Clean up was so much easier than complete grill clean up.

I absolutely loved it.

Set up was a breeze. I should warn you, this box is heavy. and large! Assembly worked great, the instructions were clear and we were up and running in no time. It tells you to allow time for seasoning of the grill (recommended 4 times, each seasoning takes ~30 minutes).

We only had time to season it once before we had to cook the first time, otherwise there would have been a mutinies from the little people armed with their sippy cups. Once you do the pre-cleaning of the grill, be sure to use the microfiber/lent free towels.

Otherwise lent gets everywhere. The seasoning instructions did tell us that the grill would change colors from the beautiful stainless steel look, to a brownish color. I’m glad it said that, because otherwise I would have assumed we were doing something wrong.

We have cooked on it now twice. We’ve done Chicken, Beef, Veggies, and breakfast. We have noticed that on this one, the right side seems to be hotter than the left. This may even out over time, but we just turned the burner down more to compensate for that.

Overall, we give it 5 stars. We’re looking forward to doing some summer cook outs and we’re going to attempt to do some Japanese style hibachi (minus the cool knife tricks) next weekend.

I like this griddle a lot. Especially as summer is coming, it’s nice to get outside as much as possible. We already have a Char-Broil Grill, so the griddle was a no brainer. A few things: Putting together took about an hour and a half and took two people, just to maneuver it up and down depending on the step.

It’s pretty simple but the instructions are mainly pictures. All we needed was a power drill with a magnetized tip and a wrench to tighten the griddle itself. You’re also going to want to find the biggest trash bag you can, because there’s a lot of left over packing materials.

Don’t expect to use it the second you put it together. You need to season the griddle top on and off for about an hour before use. There’s instructions included. Before you go unpacking, make sure the top panel with all your screws and washers and bolts is intact.

Ours had torn, so we had 16 loose screws in the box which wasn’t fun. Also, definitely open on the perforations on the bottom and not by tearing the plastic at the top. It will be a life saver. Cons: 1.

We got two right handed side panels, so we could only use one panel on the side. Not a deal breaker but annoying for sure. 2. There is no top to this. I truly cannot fathom why this wouldn’t be designed with a cover unless of course the only reason is to get you to buy the special griddle cover.

I couldn’t find it, so the Char-Broil gas grill cover worked just as well, but keep in mind, I only have one side panel. So you either need a cover, or need to be able to wheel the bad boy in and out.

That top griddle is h e a v y. I’m not moving it out of the spot until the day it stops working. 3. When you opened the box there was some weird Chinese writing on the inside of the cardboard, which was a little odd.

Also, we had an extra dowel included. Pros: It cooks really well. And it’s absolutely huge so there’s no touching of foods you don’t want to touch, plus tons of room to cook several things at once. We’ve made stir-fry, fajitas, and a ton of breakfast foods.

It’s nice to be outside, especially in good weather. It’s really easy to clean, honestly we just wipe it down and the grease cup is right there so you can just pour it over the deck. This thing is sturdy and that’s a good thing because the griddle is way heavier than I thought it would be.

In the end, it’s a nice thing to have just to get outside more. Really pleased with it.

I bought this several years ago from Target and use it only on occasion. I just used it yesterday and my pancakes stuck terribly. I even had trouble turning them. I always oil it after use. Also, I always make sure it’s thoroughly dry after cleaning.

After wiping it dry, I heat it up again and oil it. I do remember that every time I’ve used it in the past, the griddle has heated unevenly. I’m cooking on a small 4-burner gas stove with only a couple inches between the burners.

The grill goes across two burners. I do heat it up prior to cooking, hoping the middle will get hot but it never gets as hot has the portions right over the burners. Another problem is that either our kitchen floor is not level or the stove is not level so one side cooks better than the other and the oil tends to collect more on that side.

Thus, there are contributing problems outside of the Grill itself. I find it easier to use two pans. I was up on a time I was using two pans and the griddle. Another problem with the flat portion of the griddle is that I often lose food over the edges.

I’m happy with the weight and size of the griddle. There is lots of space to cook on. It does take up most of the grill, so it’s not something you can put on the side and still cook on the grates. It took me much longer than expected to season the griddle, like 6+ hours of adding grapeseed oil every 30 minutes, but now that it is seasoned, it works great.

I thought I would be able to use the griddle to sear steaks instead of using grill grates, but it does not work well for searing. My grill isn’t completely level, so grease from whatever I’m cooking rolls to the right.

This can catch on fire at high temps, so watch that. Overall, I think it is a good griddle, and I look forward to making breakfast on it for years to come.

This is a great piece but there are 2 things that need mentioned. First, not a negative but an FYI, this is large and heavy! I would recommend this for large group cooking. My wife and I are empty nesters, hindsight tells me I should own the smaller version for our daily use.

but certainly want this in the arsenal. One negative. there is a pour spout in the middle of one side, but don’t expect to use that easily. Combined with the size, weight and relative small spout, the pour spout does not work.

Grease tends to spill over the whole side edge. It would have worked better if it was in a corner.

It took about four hours to season and it came out really well. I first used it to make a Sicilian Square Pizza. Used my RT-1250 to start the baking process, then finished it in my wood burning pizza oven.

Received many compliments on the final product. Very easy to clean. Looking forward to using it next week when I’ll be frying up about 2 lbs of bacon.

I bought this griddle in December. I absolutely hate it, right from the beginning. It sticks like no other regardless of how much oil you use. Terrible material. DO NOT BUY!

It fried bacon like a champ. BUT, cleaning is a nightmare. After 2 scrubbings, soaking, washings by hand the black burnt marks will not come off. I cooked on the grid side, synced 2 burners on my stovetop.

Light and quick cooking surface. Very easy to clean. Value for money. About to order a second one.

Gas grill game changer. You can cook anything on this griddle. Makes searing steaks or frying veges a breeze. I love it! Easy to quickly put in place and cleans up just as easy. I wish I would have discovered it years ago.

The griddle gives me another grilling option. I really like that I can use half of my grill surface for traditional grilling and the other half with the griddle for making bacon, vegetables, smash burgers or anything that would require a flat surface.

Clean up has been fairly easy however the griddle is quite heavy so I am careful when I bring it into the house to wash it in the sink. Overall I am very pleased with the Weber Griddle.

If you have never cooked on a griddle, it’s a whole new world. This thing is great but some experience with cast iron pan cooking will help a lot. Follow the instructions for first use and seasoning.

Always use some cooking spray or oil when you cook. This will do great for breakfast foods. Also for hotdogs and hamburgers and vegetables. Fish, shrimp, steak, shaved sandwich steak all awesome as well.

Things not so good would be very thick cuts of meat, whole chickens, baked potatoes, ribs, brisket. Its not for low and slow cooking. You can get domes for for use on the griddle that will help with some foods.

Get some griddle tools. Two spatulas, a scrapper and two squeeze bottles is a good start. One bottle for oil and the other for water. Water is your friend for easy cleaning. Give a squirt while its hot and just squeegee off the mess with your spatula.

The manufacturer does not recommend using this with a 20lb tank. For informational purposes only, the slim brass fitting at the griddle is very common and the same as Blackstone and others. Also the common 20lbs to disposable adapter hoses mate fine with the supplied regulator.

Some caveats with this griddle. It is sort of portable but heavy, 30lbs range. If you are carrying any great distance, its easier to remove the grill plate and carry separately from the base. No tools needed, it just sits on the base.

There is no lid. You don’t need a lid to cook but it works out good to cover as quickly as possible after you cook. The cook plate is a bug magnet as soon as you turn the heat off. Also if you plan to leave it outside full time, get one with a lid.

The included vinyl cover is a nice looking dust cover but not waterproof at all. It has ventilation flaps and sewn seams so it leaks a lot. You can’t use it until the griddle is clean and cool too. For now I use a flat leaf bag laid over the top with some magnets.

If you choose this model be sure to have a plan if you are going to keep it outdoors. Get a different cover or keep it shielded from the rain. No matter how well its seasoned, water on the grill plate overnight will ruin the season and start to rust.

This is a nice griddle but if you want a lid and a stand, look for a deal that includes these items rather than trying to figure it out later. I ended up buying something different because I really wanted the lid and stand but we decided to keep this one too for travel and bigger cook days when two griddles are needed.

Its a very solid cooking device.

this is a decent grill for this type at a great no-name-brand price but some important notes: 1. it comes coated with some ‘oil’ that stains everything black. scrub this off. you don’t want it on your food.

take it outside with a good scouring pad and some soap and hose it and scrub it off until the griddle is completely gone. 2. ‘season’ the griddle like you would a cast iron pan. lightly coat it with oil.

turn the burners on high for 30 minutes or so. turn it off and let them cool off. repeat 5-7 times. if the griddle feels sticky after it cools off, burn it again without applying oil. because of the uneven heating it might take a bit.

alternative, fit the griddle in your oven and season it in there. oil on top surface only! only clean it with water from now on, no soap! 3. get a 1lb to 20lb tank conversion hose. ideally one with a 6′ or longer hose.

this griddle will devour those 1lb tanks. a 20lb tank is more economical and less waste. 4. only use wooden or silicone tools on the surface, metal will scrape off your seasoning. 5. a hand-held IR thermometer can be useful for checking temperature.

mine hits just over 600 over the burners, but 250-300 in the far corners on high after 15 minutes. easily make breakfast on this, grill burgers, it actually makes good hand made pizzas if you tent foil over the top and watch carefully, i heat it up medium-high for 20 minutes, slide a 12″ or so pizza on with a wooden peel, watch until it’s done and pull it off.

great camping or tailgating!.

This is essentially a copy of a Blackstone 22 with front grease tray, the kind that Blackstone used to make. The front grease tray is so much more manageable on a tabletop griddle. For anyone wanting to use a standard 20lb propane tank with this griddle, you are best advised to use the included regulator, and use a hose that attaches the full size tank to the included regulator.

Ignore any information posted to the contrary. This is a U. L. approved hose and is NOT specific to any application, but rather to the connection. Do not attempt to bypass the enclosed regulator, even though it appears that a Blackstone hose with regulator will fit.

Just use the enclosed regulator. It’s approved and is safer. A 1 pound cylinder will last less than an hour. Figure 2 breakfasts or 1 dinner. They are useful at times, but prohibitively and unnecessarily expensive for regular use.
