20 Best Green Vegetable For Thanksgiving (2023 Updated)

Thank you for asking me to write a review on these products. I’m seriously so impressed by how fast the seeds germinate. I normally buy seeds from big box stores and do not have luck at all. They take a long time to germinate if they do at all.

Honestly I was getting really discouraged thinking it was something that I was doing but come to find out it was just the seeds. I WILL be purchasing more seeds in the near future. Thanks for giving me hope.

I’m doing a container garden on the deck this year. You should see all of the varieties of leafy goodness growing here. The red lettuce is my favorite; a deep almost purple color. I even had enough seeds to share with my son and nephew.

The recipients of the seed assortment are thrilled with it. They have an abundance of raised beds and are eager to fill them with nutritious vegetables when spring comes to New England.

Delicious, fresh organic lettuce!! The product that doesn’t grow for me…….the spring flowers, I have tried 3 times. I am finished trying to grow spring flowers)

It came separate from the others but quickly. Exciting watching it grow.

Male adult German cockroaches are slender and a little smaller than the females, who are a little larger and wider in the abdomen. When female adult German roaches are ‟gravid,” or pregnant, they have an egg capsule, or ootheca, that can be seen protruding about one quarter-inch from the end of the abdomen.

I was a huge fan of Glory greens until I found a roach egg capsule in mine. To be as well known as they are, it sickens me to know that safety isn’t a part of this company’s character. I cater therefore I pay close attention to all the food I’m preparing.

I had just turned the burner off and went to taste the greens to see if additional seasoning was required. I noticed this small object that I know didn’t belong in the greens. I scooped it out and became very upset and disgusted.

What if I hadn’t noticed it and actually served that to a customer? I will ever use Glory greens again! I will inform everyone that I know so that this will not happen to anyone else. I feel sorry for the people that don’t pay attention for there’s no telling what all is in those greens.

And if my can had the egg capsule, the roach has to be somewhere. The fact that insects are embedded in those cans shows how poorly this company is and the fact that they shouldn’t even by able to operate.

Glory Seasoned Collard Greens comes as 12 in a package. I ordered them on 3/1/2019 and proceeded to prepare 2 cans for a meal. When I got down to the last 2 cans (12 in a package) they had this horrible smell.

The smell lingered all through the house. The next day when I opened the refrigerator. my whole refrigerator was stinking. I did not eat the remainder of the greens, threw the greens out. I cook greens every Sunday.

So when the next Sunday came I opened 2 more cans of collard greens and prepared then with additional onions (always) and when I was finished they were stinking again. After the 3rd time I decided to call the Glory Company.

It is not on the can so I used the internet to locate a phone number. I had to leave a message so I ask them to please call me so I could discuss their greens. I have not yet received a return call. My grandmother cooked greens, my mother cooked greens, my sister cooks greens and I have cooked greens for 50 years and I have never had greens stink so bad.

In my pantry I had already ordered another order of 12 and I took 2 out to cook and the smell was there also. I threw 10 cans in the trash. I recommend that you do not buy these greens. You will be so disappointed.

I ♡ Del Monte French Style Green Beans. In fact it’s the only canned vegetable I’ll eat besides corn. Sadly it doesn’t matter which grocery store I go to from No Frills to Loblaws seems they are non existant as I’ve been looking religiously for months now.

Starting to think & truly hope it isn’t so that they’re now a discontinued product which would be very sad. If so, had I know I would’ve bought a few cases of them as shelf life on canned goods has longevity.

Please Del Monte I live in Kingston Ontario Canada please tell me where I can purchase these. Or totally disappoint me & tell me they’re in fact discontinued so I can grieve & realize my hours spent looking have been a waste of time ! I really hope there’s possibly just a green bean shortage like back in 2018 I believe when “IRMA” did its damage to many crops.

I can’t see why a product that has been in the stores for decades & WHEN IT DOES SELL would be taken away. Again I really am a dedicated Del Monte lover & I will be one very UNHAPPY Del Monte camper if you have discontinued this product.

I’ve eaten DelMonte whole green beans a lot in the past. However, it’s been a long time since I’ve had them. I bought a can to have green beans and new potatoes (the green beans are held until potatoes are done then put in the pot so they don’t get mushy).

I was disappointed because they weren’t really whole. They didn’t have much flavor and were laying sideways in the can, thus if whole, they must’ve been midgets. It was a nostalgia thing for me to prepare but I probably won’t do it again.

I would only recommend these to someone who eats canned vegetables most of the time.

I’ve never been a fan of canned green beans and this wasn’t the exception. I found them to be too mushy and the taste was pretty bland on their own. My mom added these to a stir fry she made and even then, they tasted off.

I have to mention that I’m not a fan of casserole type dishes and this is what these reminded me of. Friends mentioned that they usually cook them in butter and salt so maybe that’s a better way to go with these canned green beans.

I do appreciate that they come with a pull tab to open instead of having to use a can opener.

Love this Canadian made greens product! I’ve tried a lot of other greens and always come back to progressive. Bought the cucumber mint (as it was on sale and I know the quality of the product is top shelf) – we just personally prefer the blueberry medley over this flavour.

It’s our least favourite flavour but mixes well with our shakes and wasn’t too bad mixed with chocolate protein. Try adding it to your baking too (if you don’t mind it turning green)!.

I have been using Progressive VegeGreens fo about 24 months now as a supplement. Tastes great with the exception of blueberry flavour. I find it to be a great boost to my energy and health. A friend suggested I try the product a couple of years ago as I was always run down and had frequent colds an lacked energy.

I noticed an increase in energy within a month and I have not felt this well in a long time. Haven’t had a cold in 2 years. I mix with 100ml Orange Juice to start my day. Highly recommend this product.

After trying this pouch my 3-year-old grinned and said, “mmmh yummy!” This then promoted my 6-year-old to want to try it and he enjoyed it so much that he didn’t want to give it back. My kids are very opinionated about pouches so this says a lot.

It’s also a good size. Because even though they loved it it wasn’t something easily gulped down in under 20 seconds. I like that it has veggies rich in color so extra phytonutrients. A+.

I HATE COOKING. Really. I hate cooking. I cook once every three or four months and fill the freezers (3). I love to create. Hate to cook. I used this when making Albondigos. I made two 18 quart nesco roasters full of the soup.

I wanted to add cubed butternut to the receipe but did not want to try and peel those huge things and finding no frozen cubed, I settled on this. The texture is not right for the medium. If you don’t know what you are eating it gives the texture of stock not strained.

Since I make my own stock then keep cooking until I get a rich broth, which costs a pretty penny to make with short ribs and soup bones as the base; you don’t like to ruin it with guesswork. But I did.

This time I added smoked turkey legs and tails to the broth as well. Which after several tastings I could not shake the thought that this new concoction would be FANTASTIC with butternut squash or pumpkin.

With stock you can use all the meat ingredients again in things like meat pies or burritos or tacos or in pastas and the like. But to continue to cook into a broth, nope. All of the meat ingrediants are cooked until they are drained of flavor.

This is by far the worst thing we have ever tasted in a long long time. Overpowering lemon like someone poured condensed lemon juice and sprinkeled garlic with it. We like other Green Giant varities but this needs to be off the market.

Yes, it is that BAD! There are thousands of other ways to season cauliflower and I’m not sure how this got on the market. Whoever taste tested this should be fired. On top of that they have pieces of lemon peel in there.

Someone needs to get Green Giant to take this off the market.

This is truly one of the nastiest things I have ever tasted. I love cauliflower rice, and I love lemon, but the lemon flavor in this is incredibly overpowering and AWFUL. I even added a TON of spices & salsa to try and salvage it, but the lemon was still so pungent.

This stuff is seriously inedible. My husband spit it out and we threw every last bit of it away. No exaggeration – they need to stop selling this.

Green Giant has always made great tasting vegetables and this simply steam garden vegetable medley does not disappoint! I will usually add this to a meal if it is really low in calories and I feel like I need to add something else to it.

These vegetables are not the kind that will make you go, “Ewwww, gross!” Haha. They are not boring or flavorless, either. Forget your typical stereotypes of vegetables because this right here is going to change your mind! This medley contains roasted potatoes, sugar snap peas, red peppers, and garden herbs.

Plus, they are lightly sauced. This tastes way too good to only be 70 calories per serving! I absolutely love the potatoes as they are so tender and seasoned to perfection. Although these veggies are frozen, they taste really fresh, just as they should because there are no artificial flavors or preservatives.

Green Giant has been around for a long time and will be around for many years to come because they continue to make vegetables that are both healthy and appetizing. I think that anyone who wants to incorporate some more veggies into their meals should definitely check this out.

I love veggies and this is a great and convenient way for me personally to incorporate them into my diet easily. This is the Garden Vegetable Medley, which consists of roasted potatoes, sugar snap peas, red peppers and garden herbs.

Its lightly sauced and has no artificial preservatives. This one takes about 5 1/2 minutes to steam in the microwave and has two servings per bag. Its 70 calories for 1 serving or 140 for the whole bag.

I personally would have never made this combination in my own cooking preparations, but I’m so glad that I bought this because the combination together is awesome. Everything steams perfectly and tastes delicious.

I would definitely buy again and absolutely reccommend.

My review is actually for Green Giant Simply Steam made with Mrs Dash salt free seasoning Garlic Herb Vegetable Medley. I love Mrs. Dash and Green Giant Simply Steam vegetables. I like that these veggies steam in the bag in the microwave.

These veggies can be eaten as a side dish or used in a recipe for a healthy low sodium meal. #influenstereats.

So i had picked up a bag of these steamable frozen green beans (and the corn too) simply because the store brand bags all had little holes in them which let. in the freezer air and theyd have tasted nasty.

so i got these cuz they didnt have puncture wounds. THESE THINGS ARE AMAZING!!! Not only are they tasty but NO POT NEEDED!! They cut back on dishes!! Save water, save time. 5 min and theyre done. Dont have to take them out of the bag; just pop em in the microwave, 5 min on the timer.

BAM!! Take em out let em sit for a min then tear the notch on the bag, which was amazingly easy (comes in handy when you have nerve damage in your hands) and enjoy! Usually we have alot of veggies left over, not this time.

I had been enjoying your frozen green beans for years, always tender crisp. However, in recent years I have been disappointed with the Steamfresh product. They turned out very tough and stringy. I had followed the directions, but was very disappointed.

Recently, I decided to try another package. I cooked it yesterday according to directions and they were tough and the beans were large as previously. I put them in a container, added water, and microwaved them for another minute.

Still tough. Another minute, still tough. It seems like the beans were just too old when they were frozen. I want to enjoy your green beans again, but can’t buy them until I know they will be tender crisp when I microwave them.

These always come out perfectly delish!! I usually steam in the microwave for half the recommended time and then I transfer them to my air fryer with a little EVOO and pink Himalayan salt and this gives them a nice crisp! I love fresh green beans but these are a close second when you want extended shelf life!! Recommend 💖💯💖💯💖💯.

This product is good as it can get. I do feel that frozen veggies in a bag is healthier than in a can in that (I think) they have less preservatives. On the other hand, they may have freezer burn which takes away from the taste.

Taste better than some store brands. Recommend.

I like how these veges comes in a packet which is in a good quality! Corns, beans, carrots all are raw i only have to boil them for like 5 to 10 minutes and tadahh they are ready to eat! I love their crispiness and how fresh they are.

Easy to cook and easy to use for all the housewives!! Highly recommended.

LOVE LOVE LOVE these! I often spend so much time trying to plan the main part of my meal that I overlook the sides. This is a quick and easy alternative to planning that as well. I find it much easier to get more vegetables in my diet with these since not much thought has to go into preparing them.

They always taste fresh and leave you full!.

I have been purchasing the medley for a long time. the last two bags. AWFUL. mushy, little or no veggies just tiny pieces of carrots with 3 pieces of broccoli and few tiny pieces of beans. basically now all tiny squares of carrots.

Now the bags leak water out like crazy when taking out of microwave. all over counter and floor. sad to see quality go down hill. they used to be great.

We’ve been really enjoying these frozen veggies. I am not usually a fan of frozen veggies, but these turn out pretty good, even the broccoli! They maintain a feeling of fresh veggies and don’t get soggy.

These make a good side to a neat and potato meal, but they were also great added to a tortellini in garlic lemon butter dish! (Tortellini also from Sam’s :)).

The #1 and #2 “vegetables” in this mix are the beans, gross, and comprise well over 50% of the mix. To get them even close to tender you have to overcook every other vegetable. PS neither bean is a vegetable, they’re fruits.

So Fresh! For the first time I bought two bags. Only used one and a half for dinner. The other half stayed fresh a week after. This has never happened with other spinach I’ve bought. The flavor is great as well.

My picky eaters ate it up with no complaints this time. Highly recommend!.

Wanted to love this. However I planted them outside in raised bed, and nothing even germinated. I decided to plant inside. I did a large rectangle planting and did two tapes about 10″-12″ lon. It has pleanty of space no crowding etc.

Dissappointed because out of both tapes only have 4 sprouts. Two on each tape. Do not think I will buy again.
