20 Best Green Lipped Mussel Supplement For Dogs (2023 Updated)

I tried this Green Lipped Mussel Oil With Ahiflower for my Pit Bull/lab mix, 4 year old who is struggling every summer with allergies. Some vets call it Atopic dermatitis, others have called it a severe reaction to something in his environment.

He is light skinned on his paws, legs, and underside. This seems to make him more vulnerable – allergy triggers go over his threshold for tolerance during warm months here in North Texas. winter not so bad.

His skin turns from healthy white/pink to pink/red and if untreated he gets rashes on his underside & itches, bites, licks, gnaws himself. Sometimes he bleeds from scratching. His 1st 2 summers, our vet put him on Apoquel, which works to a great degree to relieve his symptoms; but we don’t want him on it for long time.

So this past Spring & all summer we’ve gone without any prescriptions or steroids until finally last week, I’d watched him suffer enough. We took him to get shot of prednisone which immediately gave him many days of relief.

For 4-5 months now, we have had him on Bovine Colostrum, and some Standard Process supplements to boost immune system. Not really working much at all. So, we added in this mussel oil in early September, along with same day started him on Red Rover Berry powder.

A full 4 weeks later, and no difference in his skin (prednisone is the only thing this summer that has worked). He was miserable, biting, scratching, bleeding some. we have not quit any of the supplements, except the Std Process ones.

He’s still on the Colostrum, Red Rover powder, plus mussel oil, and since the steroid shot is wearing off, his skin is turning red again. I cannot say for anyone else’s dog; but I’m in Dallas and my dog does NOT respond to any of these supplements enough to keep going.

Hope it works for someone else; but we are going back to conventional treatments so my dog can live a happy life, even if it is with steroids. He eats Science Diet kibble, because I don’t make enough money to feed him 100% raw diet like I wish I could.

We do not really know what he is allergic to. If you have money, get your dog tested may be a good way to troubleshoot. Best to you all!.

Safe Sea is probably a great product. I have a (new rescue) dog with skin issues that were not helped with Safe Sea, but I feel that the product is not to blame. At the shelter, Tashi had been given a regimen of prednisolone, cephalexin, and ketoconazole, along with a rabies vaccine while her immune system was probably at its lowest.

She was missing some fur, and her skin was blackened, rough and scabby. She was scratching a doing a lot of licking. Just a little shy of 3 months later, her fur is growing in, and her skin is slowly healing.

Unfortunately, she is now licking the daylights out of all four paws, and still scratching. We will definitely finish the Safe Sea and try other remedies while she is healing from the inside out.

I got these free as part of a sample program in exchange for my honest review. I began giving them to my two vizslas (4 and 8 years old) on 2/11/22. I wasn’t consistent in the beginning because I wound up sick for two weeks but I haven’t missed a day since.

We noticed big results about two weeks ago around 3/19/22. Our 8yr old dog has had issues with his rear leg for four years and while he still runs like crazy he stopped sitting properly and wasn’t “cornering” like he used to when he ran.

First of all I chose Frezzor because it was endorsed by a christian. But seems that it is no more effective than any other product. BIG ON PROMISES YET LACKING RESULTS!! I have not seen any change. I started taking 2 pills a day, then 6.

I will try 8, and maybe 10. Unless there is a turn-around, I will not buy another bottle.

I have been taking this product for years. It is soooo good! I sleep well, I have tons of energy, and I can’t remember the last time I got sick. I know omega-3s are important, but fish oils are no where near as good or as effective as this product.

I have a nine and a half year old chihuahua mix who was struggling with neck and back pain from playing with puppy comrades in the dog park. My vet recommended fish oil as a last ditch effort before neuro blockers, and I remembered how much my horse benefited from glucosamine.

Do not buy this product! It is not the one they will send you. The only reason I purchased 2 was because I believed we were getting the one that is pictured. The one I was sent does not have as merely close to the same mg per active ingredients.

My baby jumped off my brother’s truck and it seems he hurt himself. I took him to the vet because he was in pain and his joint hurts. He couldn’t get up and would cry when he tried. They gave him some pain pills and was diagnosed with arthritis and, he been off the meds for a month now, when he started taking the supplement.

I was researching some joint supplements and found this. He’s been taking it for about a month now and I definitely see and improvement in his mobility. He’s able to get up faster, and doesn’t cry in pain anymore.

As, well as he is being more playful like he used to before the accident. The powder smells like fish and the odor is strong but he seems too like it. Definitely would try if your pet has arthritis!.

I bought this after looking around here in Chewy for anything to help my 14 1/2yo Spike. He’s had a slight limp for a few years and got a little worse last year. My vet wanted him on Metacam the liquid equivalent to Meloxicam for Dogs.

Spike’s been on it before and after a few days had a terrible case of pancreatitis which my old vet claimed was unrelated to the drug. He had me try again a month later and my poor Spike had another bad bout of pancreatitis.

I have him on Vet’s Best Aches & Pains plus Joint Max Triple Strength Soft Chews by Pet Health Solutions. It wasn’t quite enough. This green lipped mussel powder did smell super strong but if you keep it inside 2 ziploc bags inside the fridge it doesn’t smell as strong.

We dose all three Chihuahuas in the afternoon. Our three are the King & Queens of finicky eaters with easily upset stomach dogs. A little bit extra canned pure turkey dog food helps to mask the taste.

My Spike is hardly limping! He’s running around almost as fast as he did 10 years ago. I highly recommend this product. I think for cats I’d try a sardine packed in water mixed in with their feed & the powder.

I actually mix in a sardine packed in water for the fish oil & the calcium a few times a week. My Chis love them. I have a 13yo & a 12yo who run all over with no visible joint problems.

I give this to my 10 year old gsd for arthritis in his spine i have seen a marked improvement in his movement. He is on vet medication which he has had for 6 weeks now but on this alone he still had his occasional quazimodo walk and stumbling.

The glm seems to have stopped this and i am cutting back on the vet meds weekly to see how it goes. His coat is also looking much more glossy. I am impressed with this product. Update. Have taken my dog off rimadyl one week now i give one other natural supplement but the glm is the one that has shown the improvement.

Not seen any difference in my old labs walking yet but only beeen a couple of weeks,will update in a few weeks time if there is any improvement.

It works great for my inflammation and is the only thing i have taken outside of strong pain meds. I would recommend this to anyone with any kind of inflamation or any thing that causes it.

My Chow Chow has been one this supplement for almost 2 months. The other day on our walk she did puddle zoomies. This is where she splashes and plays in the puddle and then zooms around like a crazy girl.

I have a 15 year old arthritic border collie. She has been on prescription pain meds for two years. It really wasn’t working that well. So I got this product in hopes that it would work for her. I have had her on it for three weeks now, and she has been off of her meds for a week.
