I received this product for free from Influenster and Merrill in exchange for an honest review. Ok first off, the packing look nice. I wish it came with a zip closure though because I have a small dog and she doesn’t eat that much so I have to keep opening and closing it since I didn’t have an extra container to put all of it in.

The smell is OVERWHELMING. It is extremely potent and it doesn’t smell that great. With that said, it doesn’t seem like it bothers my dog. The kibbles are a nice size and there are real chunks of meat in there.

The first time my dog ate it, she only ate the meat chunks and left the kibbles. She eventually came back and ate the kibbles though. She didn’t seem to have any bad reactions to the food – which she usually does have a hard time switching food in the past so that was nice.

Overall, I wish they have sampler sizes so we can try the other flavors for my dog. I don’t know that I’m willing to commit to a 4lb bag right away.

First I have to say ,I did feed merrick to my dogs years ago ,but at the time they had only one variation of poultry free. Two of my dogs were allergic to chicken/turkey and grains ,yes they were both tested multi times.

So after about five months they got tired of the food ,since I can only get them one meat protein from merrick that had no poultry along with no grain. So I switched them to some thing else but it was only sold on line and shipping was slow.

Then I switched that food to another ,than another but the last food was always on back order and not sold at any retail pet store. So my daughter got a bag of this merrick pacific catch at our local pet store and the dogs loved it.

So I came on chewy and they have it ,but again not much choices of poultry /grain free variety there is only two the beef and this salmon ,the food is medium sized kibble and the freeze dried bits are different sizes but differ to one bag to the other meaning the one bag I got (the largest ) one will have lots of freezed dried bits and the next bag hardly any ,I know it goes by weight but would be awesome if each bag had a little more freezed dried bits since it is higher priced then the just grain free.

The salmon is not fishy Smelling and I have not noticed my dogs smelling fishy so as long as they will eat it I will buy ,but they need to come out with more poultry free choices.

I have done a ton of research and tried many different brands of dry cat food over the past 15+ years and these days I exclusively use Nature’s Variety Instinct Raw Boost dry food for my 3 cats. My requirements these days include high protein and grain-free ingredients.

The fact that this stuff also has nuggets of freeze-dried raw ingredients is a bonus! Cats are obligate carnivores and do not need/want things like corn gluten meal, rice, oatmeal, etc. in their food.

They need meat meat meat. I switched my cats over to high-protein and grain-free food many years ago and have absolutely no regrets. My cats are happy, healthy, and lean. Fat cats are always the ones who are fed crap like Friskies and 9Lives.

That stuff is full of cheap carbohydrate fillers. This food is pricey at like $40 per 10 pound bag but it is so nutrient-dense that one bag lasts my 3 cats at least a month. I do give them the occasional can of wet food as a treat but the primary basis of their diet is this food.

I’ve had vets and vet-techs telling me that one of my cat’s urinary blockages was caused by the high-protein food. That just proved to me that I know more about feline diets and that I had to find a new vet.

I was pretty impressed with this food. For background, I have a Chorkie that is allergic to everything edible AND on top of that she trusts to have high-end (read, finicky) taste. Because of this she is on a homemade diet, but she does have kibble as a midnight snack.

Acana has been our go-to, but since they’ve changed their recipe to include sweet potato in the limited ingredient line, we’re now down to one flavor with them and I wanted to introduce a 2nd protein into the kibble rotation.

When I brought the bag in the house, her nose was all over it, which is usually a good indication. She quickly finished her servings and looked for more. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize this was a high protein food, so I had to return it.

We’re going to try the limited ingredient line and see if that gets the same results.

I thought LONG and hard on what I wanted to feed my puppy when I first got him. I actually wanted to feed raw but he had no interest in the Primal chicken i bought him. I decided on Instinct rawboost because of the great ingredients and high protein and calorie count.

He loves it now and actually won’t eat instinct’s other lines that aren’t raw coated. I bought him a bag of Be Natural once and we had to add the Instinct freeze dried toppers crumbled on top to get him to eat it.

He got used to the good, tasty stuff! We switch through different flavors of the rawboost now and he’s never had a problem with it. His poops are healthy and he always eats as long as we add some water to the food.

Definitely love this brand!.

I truly believe in Victor both for my dogs and cats. My black lab once had extremely dry skin but now it’s very oily. Wow! What a change. She’s 15 years old but acts younger. My other pets have benefited as well.

I told my sister about the change in my dog’s coats as well as health. She tried Victor on her dog. He now has a beautiful coat. She is switching from a dog costing twice has much to Victor. I cannot singing praises enough.

I’m not one to endorse a product unless I truly believe in it.

Trying my golden girl Riley on Grain free Victor. She has some allergies. My previous love Maddie was raised on Blackwood & then Victor. both really good foods. Riles has more sensitivities than Maddie did.

hope it is the pollen and not the food that has her ears inflamed. Taste of the Wild causes no real problems other than HUGE bulky stinky poos. She is not rubbing her face on floor after eating Victor like she fid with TOTW so we will see.

I have been using this product for years and have always been happy with my Victor experience. After receiving the redesigned bag and noticing the changes in the ingredients, I decided to call the company.

Here is the information that I got: 1) The change from salmon being the #1 ingredient. They have gone from using fresh salmon to using dehydrated salmon. Fresh fish contains a large amount of water in it.

This is not ideal when trying to create a dry kibble. By time they had cooked the water out, the original weight of the salmon had been greatly diminished. Instead of “claiming” that meat was the number 1 ingredient, like many companies would do.

They adjusted the order of ingredients on the bag. Made since to me and I appreciate the honesty. 2) Use of Chicken fat: Chicken fat has been added to replace canola oil. They could not find a non gmo canola oil supplier.

Apparently, the protein has been removed from the chicken fat and their studies show that there are no known chicken allergies associated with the use of it. Again, I found it refreshing and reassuring how open they were with me.

My call was answered immediately by a human and the first guy I talked to was able to answer all my questions. I hope this helps. I feel better after hearing this and my dog will continue to be #fueledbyvictor.

I mean I hate to rate this product this low as the companies founder seems well versed and educated in canine diets. Along with the raving reviews of other customers dogs really showing satisfaction with their pets increase in energy, skin and coat health and just overall major signs of a healthy dog within 2 to 3 weeks of the initial switch to ketona’s dog food recipes.

So many reviews have that 2-3 week week rave… and at their industry leading highest price range for a lil over 20lbs of dog food. As loving dog owners, i myself put my dogs diet over mine it seems, that’s what we all want to hear as I assume most of us ended up here after a Google search in desperation trying to find the food that my dog (an Alaskan malamute) would finally have a food that fit her high protein, low carb needs.

I’m at that 2-3 week mark of being consistent with the company’s instruction of how to start to feed their food and adjust as needed. Man I want to say my 5 yr old female mal was acting her age again and losing that dull dry coat dander sheen we’ve come into this incredibly hot summer.

I want more than anything to be reviewing in agreement with the 4/5 star reviews this food as but i can’t. This chicken recipe as literally exactly the opposite of those reviews and exasperated my dogs discomfort.

The sheen has turned to dry and really dirty feeling with her dry skin being so bad and flakey it looks like someone took her into the rice fields in Asia, 10 times as bad as the pert plus dandruff shampoo commercials of the 90s where it looks like someone sneezed that powdered butter stuff you add to popcorn for post pop butter flavor additive… her thyroid as been checked and I’ve never had any issue with chicken allergies prior to this.

I’m unsure what they’re using as “chicken protein†in this recipe but I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt that it’s an allergic reaction. That’s the only reason it’s not 1 star… is I still have faith this food is gonna help my dog and the recipe selection was to blame and not the company’s it’s self.

So I went ahead and ordered my second purchase of ketona’s food, in 2 weeks, In hopes they live up to there marketing promises of better nutritional canine needs being met. Almost $300 in dog food for 1 dog in two weeks… is apparently what I’m willing to risk on you guys and your company and the products you provide are gonna help my dog find the comfort she deserves.

Please live up to your company’s business statement with this salmon recipe, I’m betting on you guys!!!.

We were introduced to Holistic Select by the owner of the shelter where we rescued our dog. She stated her conviction to feeding only top quality foods to her shelter animals. On our first visit to our veterinarian, she marveled at our new rescue’s healthy appearance, and attributed that to the care she received while at the shelter.

Upon showing her the food that the shelter was feeding, she agreed that Holistic Select was as good or better than the foods that she sells at her practice, and recommended that we keep feeding with Holistic Select.

Our “Katie” loves this food! Holistic puts all the good things into this food, and keeps the bad things out! Omega-3 fatty acids are in, and grains are out! Probiotics, antioxidants, glucosamine, and taurine are all provided to assure a healthy heart.

And it is made in the USA. We’re glad we were introduced to Holistic Select, and our Katie seems happy that we were too!.

My pup had giardia when I first brought him home, so was on all the meds to get rid of that. However, even when he tested giardia free, his stools were still soft and sometimes, runny. I tried the Hill’s Science diet canned food for sensitive digestion but it didn’t work.

I tried Eukanuba kibble for sensitive digestion, but still no luck. After doing online research for kibble that hardens stools, I narrowed down my list and decided to try this brand because it had a lot of positive reviews for helping with soft stools.

Lo and behold. it worked! I love this kibble, my dog loves this kibble, and my garbage loves this kibble as it is no longer filled with stinky soft stools. Thanks you Chewy for making this available and thank you Holistic for making this WONDERFUL food.

I really like this kibble. I have gone through a lot of brands trying to find what’s best for my girl and so far so good on this one. It’s important for her to have chicken free food but I also check every ingredient to make sure there are no controversial ingredients and this one checked out! I’m happy knowing that this food is high quality and affordable.

It’s also pretty high calorie which is great because it lasts longer than other foods with fillers. I get a lot of compliments on how soft her coat is and she’s very shiny!.

I’ve only had this food for a month and I’ve noticed a HUGE difference! My 125 lb Saint was constantly getting diarrhea and waking me up through the night and now she’s pooping solid and letting me sleep!! She does get a probiotic as well but I truly believe this is a miracle food for her because she’s pooping a lot less too and getting the nutrients she needs.

I’ve gone through so many brands and finally did a food sensitivity test for her and found out she had sensitivities to soy, salmon oil, and eggs which this food does not have! I’m so happy to have found this brand because I was getting sick and tired of hosing down the yard from her diarrhea! Wanted to thank Chewy’s customer service for their help with returning another limited ingredient diet brand that I tried first and when I got the bag it said salmon oil but did not say it on their website.

They sent me a bag of Instinct right away and I’m totally hooked! Totally doing the happy dance right now and Remi is thanking me as well!.

I’m a longtime Chewy customer. I don’t know if I’ve written a review on this site yet… I may have once, but can’t remember. Needless to say, I don’t normally write reviews but I feel compelled to do so for this product.

First, I really wanted to like this food. If my three fussy cats love it, why wouldn’t I be happy with it? I had read other reviews saying that it will make your cat’s poop stink like nothing else. I thought, “gosh, how bad could it be? If they like it then I can look (or smell) past it.

” I couldn’t wait to be done with this stuff! The smell was that terrible. My husband and I decided about halfway through the bag that this food would not be purchased again. We didn’t want it to go to waste, so we stuck with it and had them finish it up.

The cats just had their last meal of this food, and my goodness! I am happy that’s done! Didn’t think I would feel this strongly about it. I am determined to find a food that’s good for them and that they all like, but this stuff just ain’t it.

I would only recommend if you have good separation of the litter box and people in your home, or if your cats go outside.

This version with oats is a lot better than potato-laden grain-free version The Honest Kitchen sells. I do a 50/50 split by volume (it’s like a 25/75 split by calories) between this and Ziwi Peak Chicken.

My dog’s poops are great but a bit more frequent due to the veggies (my vet said this is normal and not to be worried about unless the frequency on a day to day basis varies a lot), and his energy is boundless.

The only downside is that they cheap out on a couple of ingredients, namely Selenium Sodium instead of Selenium Yeast. My puppy did not do well on the grain free version of this – they substitute oats for white potatoes and the order of ingredients is a bit different, too.

If your puppy does have a grain allergy, I would highly advise against the grain free version of this. Similarly, if your puppy does not have a grain allergy, put them on the grain inclusive version of this or look elsewhere.

The only other food I would consider for my dog is Open Farm – they use the yeast form of selenium, too! Only downside with Open Farm is that they use meat meal, but it’s Open Farm so this is likely a healthy and humanely sourced version of meat meal.

Open Farm, Ziwi, and The Honest Kitchen all have great options IMO. Much better than the Dr. Hill, Purina, Kirkland, etc. junk food most people feed their dogs.

I have a picky eater. I’ve tried almost every healthy, high-quality, small breed dog food there is! I’ve found very few to her taste! This is the ONLY dry food that’s small enough & soft enough for my 4lb Maltese to actually be able to eat! Even so, she likes to bring me a few pieces to break into half or quarters for her! LOL! I really wish they’d offer a Toy Breed Blend that’s just this exact same formula, but with pieces that are only a quarter of the size! I give her a dish of this and another of the FreshPet Small Dog Bite-Size twice a day, with plenty of fresh water.

She never just eats all of her food at once, so she needs a dry food to be able to graze on day and night. Also, we live in hurricane country — so a healthy dry food in a small, durable, resealable bag that lasts her a good long while is absolutely essential for evacuations! This fits the bill perfectly – and it’s affordable! TL;DR – The ONLY dry food suitable for a tiny 4lb Maltese! Others are too big, too hard, cause tummy trouble, etc!.

My 2-year-old Lab was diagnosed with liver damage due to toxic ingestion (something he ate). The first indication of a problem was lack of appetite. Correcting this problem is a long process but is working.

He is still being treated but between the liver damage and medications his appetite is less than half of what it should be. While I’m freaking out trying all different things trying to get him to eat (which probably was not helping his stomach) nothing was working.

Long story short I came across The Honest Kitchen and decided to give it a try. My dog took to it immediately (same day turning his nose up at his old food). I mix the dehydrated and the clusters (chicken flavor).

I’m still early in trying this only 1 week, but he is eating and eating full meals twice a day. So I’m hopeful.

I have done a lot of research in dog foods as my oldest (now 6 year old) had extensive bowel surgery/removals when she was 1. We wet the food for her for easier digestion and add a digestive aid to help her break down the food as quickly as her bowels process the food so she gets the most out of the nutrition that this band offers.

I stick with grain free as she doesn’t need the fillers. Waste of space anyways for her needs. I am very satisfied that she can maintain her weight with this food. We have been using this brand for a couple years now and are very pleased.

My dogs would eat this dry but I know that some of your dogs may not. Just add water and let it soak for 5 to 10 minutes, it will open up an aroma they will just love.

Whew, where do I even start? My pup is around 6 months old now and we’ve been feeding him Victor for about a month. I wanted to wait to write a review until we had enough time go by. Previous to this, his poops were NASTY.

Like. soft serve in the summer sun nasty. And the gas and the smell. I’ll save y’all the horror. This is my first dog, so at first I didn’t realize that it was the old food that was doing it! I thought maybe it was the treats I was giving him, or maybe he was just stressed or something.

Definitely the old kibble-with-raw-chunks. Whoever says all dogs should be on a raw diet is just plain wrong. The minute we switched to this kibble, my boy’s entire schedule changed. His poops are nice and solid, he goes about 3 times a day and right on time, which is nice for us.

Well, I did a ton of research on the best dog foods, as I have a [large silver lab] dog with food sensitivies, gut issues, and skin issues. The ingredients seemed good, so I ordered a bag of this and transitioned my pup into it.

He did NOT like it and would absolutely not eat it. This is unfortunate, as it took a LONG TIME for the bag to be gone – and it was expensive. When we transitioned him to American Journey, Pup would eat the AJ food and leave the Victor.

Not sure if he’s a picky thing or if this was just gnarly-tasting.

I received a 4 lb bag of Castor and Pollux Organix grain-free senior recipe dog food to try complimentary for my senior dog. This dog food is made of organic free range chicken, no corn soy wheat chickpeas or lentils, it says that it’s nutrient-packed with a superfood blend, and it has glucosamine and chondroitin to help support joints.

I have two dogs that are about 60 lb each one of them is 7 years old and the other one is just over 14 years old. My older dog does have a lot of joint issues and arthritis. Because of this I do try to give him a dog food that has glucosamine and chondroitin in it or we will supplement with the glucosamine tablets.

The size of the dog food is really small almost like a puppy food size. They remind me of the size of bunny poop. There’s no weird smell to the dog food it actually smells pretty normal. I’ve tried several different brands of dog food for seniors and it’s always been really difficult to get my dogs to eat it even when I mix it in with their food.

When I first give them this dog food I did mix it about 25% of the Organix with 75% of the regular dog food and then over the next few days I mixed a little bit more and so it was more of a 50/50 mixture.

At first they would pick out the dog food and put it on the floor but then by the end of the week they were eating it like they didn’t even realize it was there. Because it was just a 4lb bag and they only had it for a couple weeks I can’t say that it was really helpful for joint health yet.

I think I will actually purchase this again just to see what the results are and to see if it helps my old man. Overall I will say I am happy with it. It didn’t cause any diarrhea in the dogs and they seemed like they liked it after the first couple days.

Price-wise it is fairly reasonable comparative to what I purchased now for 4 lb bag on chewy. com it’s about $17 whereas a 10 lb bag is approximately $47.

I received the Castor and Pollux Organix Grain Free food to test for my dogs. I have two dogs who are great food testers because one is a picky eater and the other will eat anything but has a delicate tummy.

This food was a hit for my picky eater. He really loved this and because it’s a chicken based formula it doesn’t smell as much as the salmon based foods he usually eats. He usually loves a smelly food so the fact that he ate this so readily was impressive.

This food was also a hit with my delicate tummied eater, but it didn’t agree with him. Typically we feed him fish based foods because they’r gentler and while this wasn’t terrible for him it proved to be a little too much for his tummy on a few occasions.

This food is easy to find in stores which I like and if you have a dog with grain sensitivities this may be great for you. Cost wise it is in line with other premium, healthy dog foods which I appreciate.

I also like the size of the kibble. It’s not too big or small so any size dog can eat this. If you have a dog with grain sensitivities and you want a healthy food this is a great option. If your dog has a delicate tummy I would say try this but keep in mind that based on what your dogs sensitivities are this may be too much for them.

I think it’s a great option to try though and has healthy ingredients for your fur babies. I would recommend this.

This review is solely based on the packaging. This is a small bag, maybe 8 inches wide. But both sides are pinched and glued about 1 3/4 inches, leaving a very small opening. I have small hands. I found the smallest scoop I could.

I still can not reach through that tiny opening and pull food out without it going everywhere. The large bags are glued like this too; even that’s annoying but you can remove food without it spilling.

Furthermore, the latest bag didn’t even have the reseal strips on it. What the heck? I won’t buy this again until Chewy can reassure me the packaging has been improved.

I have been feeding Sojos for 15 years to my papillons. i havefed virtually every formula at various stages of their development from puppyhood to advanced seniors. I now have 4 seniors aged 11-17 years of age who all eat this formula twice a day.

A few observations about feeding. First, transition from kibble can require anywhere from 7 to 30 days depending on the previous food in the gut. Plan on a ten day transition where you add Sojos gradually each day in increments of teaspoons for small breeds under 10 pounds to tablespoons for large breeds.

Remember you are not just switching from one kibble to another. This may take a little more time for your dog to adjust. Second, be sure to rotate the bag before each meal to distribute the ingredients.

Read the feeding chart carefully so you do not accidentally feed twice the recommended amount based on weight as doing so will cause frequent stools. The chart has the daily recommended feeding…to be divided and fed twice a day.

Lastly, use hot tap water rather than cold or warm. After adding the water, cover and let soak for an hour on the counter. Never store in fridge for serving later. Never microwave to warm. My senior dogs continue to love their Sojos.

even the senior formula. I especially love that it does not stain teeth, cause more than one poop a day, is easy to add medication to food if needed, anddogs love it do much that they let me know when dinner time is near , and always lick their dishes clean after each meal.

We recently found out that our little pittie mix is allergic to grains, turkey, chicken, peas, corn, you know, all the commonly used ingredients in dog food. Thus began our long search for a new food.

We really wanted to try a raw food because our dogs are divas and think kibble is the pits. Plus, we’d read about the health benefits of raw. Before we knew about the food allergies, we’d tried one raw dehydrated food from another brand and it seemed to give them more energy and decrease shedding.

Buuut, we ended up wasting so much of it because both dogs hated it. On top of that, it seemed like it was all shake and hardly any meat. So, when we first found out about the food allergies, we tried Instinct’s Raw formula.

To be fair, both dogs LOVED it, but we had to buy a new bag every 3 days. Even my Starbucks fund paled in comparison to what we’d have to spend on dog food each month if we stuck with Instinct. We found the same to be true of all of the other raw food formulas we looked at.

If you want to use NomNom or Farmer’s Dog to feed your dog and your dog isn’t a 3 lb Yorkie, you’d better have a Kardashian’s bank account. Sigh. Next, we tried a prescription dog food from Science Diet.

Both dogs spit out the kibble immediately and wouldn’t touch it. Yet another food donation to the local shelter. Finally, we found Sojos. We knew our dogs loved the Sojos raw beef treats, so we thought we’d give the food a try.

THEY LOVE IT. Aside from when we fed them Instinct for a week, neither one of our dogs has ever been excited for meal time, and even then, they didn’t BEG for it. But they scarf this stuff up. You can see real ingredients, they don’t skimp on meat, and it’s something I can feel good about feeding to my pooches.

They haven’t been on it long enough for us to see changes in health or energy, but the fact that it comes in big bags, it’s not $500/a month (for two 50 lb dogs) like a lot of other fresh foods, and they gobble it up is enough reason for me to go ahead and leave 5 stars.

Literally the only downside is that I have to listen to my oldest dog sob and beg like she’s starving for 15 mins while I wait for the food to rehydrate. That’s a trade I’ll take. Thanks Sojos!.

Just want to clear up something. Ignore the statement about how each pound of this food makes five pounds of food prepared IF you are attempting to compare it to kibble. Pay attention only to the cups of food in the bag because it typically takes just as many cups of food to feed your dog whether freeze dried or dry kibble because the calorie content is similar cup to cup between the two.

I feel like this “makes 35 lbs of food” is a misleading tactic. For each cup (0. 2 lbs) of food, you have to add 1. 5 cups (approx 0. 8lbs) of water. So now whereas a single one cup serving of kibble normally weighs 0.

25lbs, your single one cup serving of this food weighs a full pound for the same calorie content. So, a seven pound bag of this will give you the same amount of servings as your average seven pound bag of kibble, not the same amount of servings as a 35lb bag of kibble.

An example of this is the fact that it takes 4. 5 dry cups of this food to feed an 80lb dog per day. At 35 cups per bag, that is less than eight full servings. Again, this is just to clear up some confusion for those who are used to buying kibble by the pound and knowing about how long that food will last.

Why is it Being Used in Dog Food and Treats? A disappointing trend in the pet food industry is the use of pea flour, pea fiber and pea protein. Consumers have become more savvy and informed about ingredients in pet food, and many are refusing to buy products with ingredients like meat meal, animal by-products and cheap fillers.

They have also been looking for ways to replace the cheap fillers that consumers have identified as undesirable. They can take out the cheap grain fillers and replace it with pea protein/pea fiber. So the manufacturer could be trying to boost the protein content in a cheap way to make up for a lack of meat-based protein.

I found this dog food and the organic dry at an outlet and thought I would give it a try. surprisingly my very picky dogs. all three, loved it! I mean loved it. With them all getting older, I was looking for a soft alternative to the dry food.

I still keep the BEYOND ORGANIC version in a dish all day, but the soft is their absolute favorite and has cut down on the treats I give them etc because I know they are getting full. LOVE IT.

I have a goldendoodle who is very particular about the food she eats. We very very excited when we found that she liked the Beyond Beef & Egg dry dog food. We feed her twice a day and she would literally knock us out of the way to get to her dish when we fed her.

However, with the last large bag we purchased, we found you had changed the recipe and now she refuses it eat it as well. The old recipe included large yellow chunks which I assume were the “egg” in the food.

That is no longer there. Really hate to throw out this big bag of food but she wont eat it anymore. Not sure why you had to make this change but it was very disappointing. Guess I am looking for another dog food for my 4 year old finicky dog.

My older schnauzer has been having food allergy/digestive issues. His doc said to try a different protein than what I had been feeding him. He recommended salmon or white fish. He recommended two brands, this being one of the recommendations.

After the gradual switching over, this has proven to be a great fix for his issues. He doesn’t display the painful issues after eating and everything else seems to work well, too.

My dogs eat it, they really are not fond of dry food, but seem to tolerate this one. They will eat it when really hungry otherwise they wait for me to cook for them. I have recommended Chewy to many of my friends and all use this site now.

I think it is the best place to shop for dog food. Have had excellent luck with most everything I purchase from Chewy.

This particular dog food is of decent quality and seems to have fewer additives than many of the others. I have used this for my small, elderly dog for about ten years. Her much more expensive dog food slips in and out of my budget and I fall back on Evolve.

My little doggie has lost several of her teeth and finds the Evolve easier to chew and the food is made in very small nibbles that suit her chewing ability. Small doggies need small nibbles and they can be difficult to locate.

I recommend this product, especially for those on a budget who want to give their pets good food.

Just got my bag of Now Fresh Small Breed Puppy Food and was so excited to have the puppy, Simon, try it. He’s only 7. 5 months old so still should be on puppy food. It’s hard to review puppy food. Simon is notoriously picky about his food, so this review should be taken with a grain of salt as it may be completely different for your puppy.

I can only convey how he responded. (1) He actually ate NOW FRESH, so that’s a big plus to start with. The kibble size is tiny, so if you have a real toy dog or if your puppy is much younger, the size works well for that.

The smell is pleasant. It’s not particularly meaty and appetizing, but it’s not off-putting at all like some dry dog foods tend to be. It’s a grain-free food, and that is my preference, but it has a lot of peas and pea products in it.

(The latest villain in the dog food world appears to be peas; take it for what you will. ) I have zero complaints about the ingredients personally and would gladly feed any of my dogs this level of food, providing they love it.

(2) COMPARISON TEST: With dog foods, my main gauge is whether a dog likes it MORE than what they’re currently eating. I’m not going to compare a low-end food with a high-end or vice versa; that would be unfair and also a bit ludicrous in that someone who is feeding low-end dog food isn’t going to buy a $80 bag of food just because the dog likes it more, and someone feeding $80 food to their puppy isn’t going to switch to “Puppy Chow” without trying every other brand.

Right now, my puppy is on Orijen Small Breed Dog Food. I went through Nutrisource, Merrick, Farmina, and The Honest Kitchen so far in his short life, looking for something he will “love. ” Thus far, Orijen (small breed, specifically, as I haven’t tried other food from the line for him) is his favorite.

RESULT: When given both bowls of food, the puppy opts for Orijen, hands down. For that reason, I’ll dock a star, but like I said, unlike my German Shepherds that would eat literally anything if I offered as food, Simon is picky.

NOW FRESH is certainly worth a try!.

I had no issues with resistance to it, pleasant surprise as they are usually so snobby about their food. I appreciated that it’s all very authentic and natural. No artificial colors or flavors, no additives or hormones, smell is definitely mild, I really dont smell anything to it at all and even better there is no greasy residue left in the bowl, which I notice with most all dry dog foods.

The bag closes in simplistic but beneficial manner, sealing by means of Velcro Ziploc, keeping fresh for an extended period, awesome plus, however nothing attention grabbing with the bag decor and coloration.

Our dog was underweight when we adopted. This fantastic Sun Dancer food has higher calories so, we got him up to his weight range (adding about 8 pounds) within a few months. The flat, round smaller pieces worked well with his mouth.

(The beef MMillennia recipe has larger round pieces that were edible but too big for him. ) He is now on Star Chaser for maintenance. (same size piece as Sun Dancer, less calories).

There is a lot of information available on the makeup of this dog food and its’ nutritional value on the internet. I decided to give it a try, and it helped clear up my 8 month old terrier pup’s loose stools and gas.

He likes the flavor and eats it readily. I wish this was available in mini bites for my chihuahuas as the regular sized pellets ate too large for them. When I break them up (had to use food processor) they gobble it down.

I’m a person who obsessively researches everything, and my dog’s food is no exception. I wanted something that had the best nutrition, cruelty free (not tested on laboratory animals), had minimal environmental impact (no beef/red meat, but still wanted animal protein), and of course that my dog likes it.

She loves it, never leaves a crumb to spare. Her stools are always healthy looking and she’s an energetic pup. Another pro is this is reasonably priced for the quality and often is on sale at Chewy. I continue to research thinking there must be something better out there but keep coming back to this one.

This dogfood saved two of my dogs AND me! One had terrible skin allergies. I spent thousands on medications and food changes for five years before finding Zignature. Another of my dogs has inflammatory bowel disease.

He was on multiple daily meds and still vomited frequently until I put him on Zignature. LITERALLY, both dogs were much improved within two weeks of starting on this food (both hard and soft). Before trying Zignature, I researched dog food ingredients on line and went through my local pet store reading the fine print.

Zignature was the ONLY brand I found that did not contain guar gum. I don’t know if that is the main thing that has made the difference. All I know is that my allergic dog no longer itches or takes ANY medication other than a Cytopoint injection once every few months.

My IBD pup never throws up now, and he is not on any meds. Zignature is a godsend! I wouldn’t use any other brand. I AM NOT A PAID REPRESENTATIVE OF THIS COMPANY. I am just a grateful pet owner/customer.

I got this food as I have a Maltese cross with a very delicate digestive system and allergies. I did have her on the Hills prescription diet which helped her, but after reading the list of ingredients it’s just a long list of chemicals.

I have been concerned for a long time, and it was mentioned to me that single protein turkey is so good for dogs like mine. So I thought I would try this for the bikkies as I already found a wet food made here in Australia and was only struggling with finding dry.

So far my dogs like it. In fact I think these must be better tasting or simply crunchier as my chihuahua bites and chews each bikkie and this has helped slow her gutsy behaviour down. So that’s good, at least they like it and my Maltese so far is tolerating it.

I am mixing them with her original bikkies so far, so let’s see how it all goes once they just eat these. Thanks.

My 8. 5 y. o. German Shepard has an autoimmune disease, so his diet is crucial. Problems with persistent, reoccuring ear and skin infections/allergies have made his life (and mine) challenging. The fillers used in commercial dog foods rank from barely standard to criminal.

The cost associated with higher end dry foods are astronomical and unaffordable to most of us. Zenergy dog foods are nutritious and affordable. Note that “foods” is plural. Max has enjoyed some “flavor” variety, Mom is satisfied with the ingredients, and Zenergy offers safe, quality food.

While the brand is a bit pricier, it has earned our approval.

I had this delivered from Petco thru DoorDash for my Maltese. First, I should tell you that I actually make my own dog food for my Maltese (ground Turkey, rice, peas, carrots, spinach & eggs). I make them in cupcake tins, and she has one every evening.

“Her little muffin” – However, she also needed a grain free, poultry free dry kibble. This WORKED!!! she LOVES IT. I feel good because in combination with the food that I make her consisting of poultry rice peas carrots and spinach, the addition of this kibble that consists of meat and sweet potatoes grain free to her diet is the ultimate perfect combination for her.

I have two dogs, Buddy and Jasper. My dog, Buddy, will eat just about anything. My dog, Jasper, is the pickiest dog I’ve ever had. I’ve been mixing this into their food the last couple of weeks and Buddy gobbles it up.

He’s a smaller breed, Cavachon, so I like that the pieces are pretty small. Jasper has been picking out his usual food and completely avoiding this new one for most of the days I gave it to him. I read the reviews and saw the 5 star rating and had to get this for my pup. The food that was recommended by the vet just didn’t satisfy him. He only ate it when he couldn’t hold out any longer. I mix GO! half and half with his regular food and he eats it up.

Both of us are very happy with GO! Puppy food. Also, I highly recommend Chewy. The prices are competitive, delivery is quick and I get friendly personal service. If you ever have a problem they have REAL people answering the phone.

I have to say, I was quite nervous to try another dog food (3rd one) for my picky eater puppy (8-month old shepherd husky). We almost always have to add toppers (pumpkin, liver treats, banana, Blueberries, coconut, olive oil) and even wet food, for her to eat it.

Now, we have tried this dog food and mix it with hot water. She is eating it! She will even take it as a treat for puzzle toys. Her coat has been amazing and we is putting on some weight now! We are very pleased and happy as I can be discouraging trying different food that would also be convenient for us to prepare.

Don’t get me wrong the ingredients in this food seem great and my puppy actually did eat it. However, when I bought this product I didn’t realize it was on sale, so when I came back to purchase another bag….

welp I’m sure you can imagine I was pretty surprised to see that it’s nearly $80 for a 22 pound bag! And since my puppy is on the bigger side(45 pounds) he eats more so I know it will be a thin stretch at the end of the month.

I feel bad because Mochi really did seem to enjoy it, but there are other good quality brands out there that are more affordable.

This is the ONLY dry food my 4 year old Havapoo pup will eat. He’s an extremely picky eater, I have tried around 8 different types of dry food and he would always just pick around it and only eat his wet food.

When he started having teeth problems from not eating enough dry food I decided to cut the wet food out of his diet completely. He refused to eat the dry food I was feeding him despite me adding broths and treats and ended up losing 2 lbs, which is a lot for a 12lb dog.

I finally have in and started mixing his wet food with the dry again. I recently decided to switch to this one because he seemed to like the wellness core dry food the best. I noticed that he would eat all the dry food instead of just picking out the wet food and leaving the dry, I then gradually decreased the wet and gave him 100% dry food and to my surprise he ate all of it and has continued to do so for the past week! I couldn’t be happier! I am now exclusively feeding him this food.

Seriously, if you have a picky eater give this a try!.

I don’t understand the poor reviews of this stuff – it’s great. My 8 year old lab loves it! She seems to be getting some vitality back and her always healthy poo’s seem even healthier. She also likes it better than any other food I’ve had her on, like she gets excited about it beyond just loving food.

The slightly larger odd shaped triangle pieces of food actually force her to slow down and chew a bit instead of just inhaling/swallowing tiny kibble, haha. and even though it’s a little pricey, the added supplements for seniors make it worth it in my mind.

also my dog has always been on a grain free diet and since when do wolves eat grain? The heart issue is solved with the added Taurine so I am less worried about that than all the GMO’s in grains and the health issues THOSE cause.

I couldn’t be happier with this food.

After getting our puppy who had originally been on Kirkland puppy food, we switched to wellness core because it was rated one of the best dog foods. However, we noticed that our puppy struggled to adjust to it.

She wouldn’t eat out of her dog bowl so we thought that was the problem so we switched the dog bowl. But even then she still seemed hesitant with the food. She’d only eat one piece at a time and she hardly ever finished a full meal which was on 1/4 a cup 3 times a day.

We decided to switch her food to Hills Science diet puppy food and she devours it and then cries for more. Not sure if the size of the food was too big or she didn’t like the taste, but for us we just didn’t have success with this brand of dog food.

I would recommend people to try it though because it is a good brand, but just like humans dogs have specific taste and texture preferences.

I have two mixed breed rescue dogs that are about 50 pounds each. One eats just about anything and the other is very picky. I recently ran a DNA test on the picky eater and found she has issues with turkey, wheat, white rice, duck, peas, buckwheat, corn, soy and rosemary.

I have found it incredibly difficult to find a food that checked all the boxes but was so happy that TSC had this option. I was concerned about DCM but found there was Taurine in this food so I was also encouraged when I found this.

The dogs have transitioned to this food and the picky eater has begun biting herself to the point she’s losing her fur on her back leg. Her eyes are also very goopy, which wasn’t the case before she started eating this.

Both dogs take prescription allergy medicine daily but something in this food doesn’t agree with one of my dogs. The other dog, who generally is a great eater, will eat this food but has only been eating a fraction of what she should be eating daily.

I had also reached out to the Customer Service team at Earthborn to ask some questions (not related to my dog chewing her own fur, but more about the FDA study about DCM and nutrition overall) and was disappointed in the representative.

I’m grateful to TSC for providing so many food options for my dogs, the price point I found picking this up at my local store, the convenience of buying online and curbside pick up, the very nice TSC man that brought the bag of food to my car and the overall care and service provided by TSC to their customers but I will not be continuing my dogs on this food.

I ended up going back to TSC to buy another brand of dog food yesterday and I’m hopeful this new one will agree with both dogs more. I have given 2 stars for this product based on the ability to check the boxes for what I needed but cannot recommend this dog food based on my dog’s response to it after eating it 3 weeks.

I would give Earthborn a zero if I could. I searched out over 100 ingredient decks for a dog food that didn’t have ingredients that my pup was allergic to. I found this food and it worked. We have been getting it for several years until the last order.

I noticed it looked different so I looked at the bag and lo and behold they changed their formulation (nothing on the bag or website to let someone know that they changed it). bad business. Good thing I noticed that pumpkin and eggs were now in the top 4 ingredients before I gave it to my pup.

I just can’t believe they wouldn’t have put something on the label about a new formulation. Be careful!.

I got this food a few weeks ago for my then 10 week old puppy. I had gotten him the small breed dog food originally because of his size but then shortly learned the lady I got him from actually had been feeding him the meadow feast.

So I called customer service who was so helpful, patient and kind that I was able to exchange this without any problem, no hassle, no issues and they were able to ship it right away and I received it within 2 days.

It was so refreshing to talk to Chewy and to be able to do this. As a new fur mom, my concern was to feed him the same type of food he was used to so not to get an upset stomach or have other issues, and so in dealing with this wonderful company, I was able to get my puppy the right food in no time at all, and he was back on track.

No other homefront stores sell this so I am thankful that Chewy was able to get this to me at a rapid pace and they acknowledged my concern. I will continue to shop from Chewy as they certainly have great products at good prices.

He loves this food and his little tummy is able to tolerate the goodness in this dry dog food.

After trying many foods for my mixed breed large boy for his allergies and still watching him scratch I switched him to this hoping by taking him off of chicken and beef it would help and it has. His coat is beautiful and much less scratching.

He loves this food. And my Italian Greyhound loves it as well. It’s nice to find a kibble that satisfies them both. High recommend.

I was searching for a salmon based, high quality food for our dogs. No matter how good the ingredients are, making sure that my dogs like the taste is one of the most important factors to me. I purchased several different brands through Chewy including Earthborn Coastal Catch, Chicken Soup Salmon, Taste of the Wild Pacific Stream, and Triumph Grain Free Salmon (the product I am reviewing).

The Earthborn had a small kibble size which was a plus since a few of our dogs are small breed or have limited teeth. Overall, the dogs hated the Earthborn and did not want to eat it. The Taste of the Wild and Chicken Soup seem to be very similar products and I believe are both manufactured by Diamond Pet Foods.

The kibble size in each of these foods is large, flat pieces which was tough for our smaller dogs. The dogs liked each of these more than the Earthborn, but still didn’t seem thrilled with the taste.

So, on to the Triumph Grain Free Salmon. The kibble size is small, so it is perfect for dogs of all sizes. Our dogs seem to love the taste and are excited to eat this food. I love the ingredients and that the food includes probiotics to help with digestion.

I also love the price, you can even save a little with Chewy’s subscription discount (and you can change or cancel deliveries with the click of a mouse). Overall, the Triumph food (this product) is by far the winner for us on kibble size and apparent taste for our dogs.

I highly recommend this food as well as the Triumph line of canned foods, many grain free, which our dogs love too!. and Chewy is awesome, don’t know how we ever lived without them!.

I rarely write reviews, but I need to take the time for this product. My dog has always been ho-hum about dry dog food. Nothing spectacular at all. She’s 6 years old, 65 lbs, Shar-pei, pit, golden retriever mix rescue.

Tried Fromm, Nature’s Variety, Blue Buffalo and Evolve from Chewy and others name brand from various Pet stores. Some will hold her attention for a few feedings then the novelty wears off. I’ve been buying the Triumph dog treats(grain free Salmon/Sweet potato) for awhile now and she never tires of them.

Devours instantly and gets excited when she sees the container come out. It’s funny watching a 60 lb dog dance. So I decided to try their dog food. This has been an outstanding product. We’re into the 3rd week of twice a day feedings and the novelty hasn’t worn off.

She has high energy, very alert, and still devours her food. We will try another flavor from Triumph on the next order and I’m so glad I tried this dog food.
