There are a few different types of glue that can be used for wood floors, but the most common is a polyurethane-based adhesive. This type of glue is very strong and durable, making it ideal for use on wood floors.
It is important to follow the manufacturer’s instructions when using this type of glue, as it can be difficult to remove if it is not applied correctly.

1). The 1407 holds trowel ridges for optimum wood contact, grants excellent working time, and cleans up easily with soap and water. This low VOC, environmentally friendly formulation is low odor and odorless when dry.
The product really worked well. We had to apply this on older concrete. The coverage was excellent and easy to use. The dry time was good but you have to make sure you only do 2 rows of hardwood at a time.
It will start to crust over if you apply too much.
Installed Engineered flooring in my 450 sq ft living room. Disappointing that my Rmd store has very poor selection of many items including the pale of 1407. So I ordered it online and it was delivered promptly.
Got it in a week, Adhesive works great, easy to spread, also easy to clean, just let it dry and peel it off. got some on my floors and peeled off next day. Also easy to clean off my hands with water.
Also very little odor. 2 pales was just enough to do the room.
I used many Roberts items with good results, I used Roberts 1407 glue for an engineering floor repair on a concrete floor. I was very disappointed. A couple of boards popped up ,the glue didn’t seem to set up ! I always read directions carefully.
DAP traces its roots back to 1865, when Robert H. Dicks and Elmer Wiggim began producing sealing wax for food-canning out of Dicks’ garage in Dayton, Ohio. Through innovation and acquisition, the company continued to expand its product line.
DAP entered into an exclusive marketing agreement with the worldwide leader in silicone technology in 1980 to market a full line of silicone sealants. In the mid 1980’s, Weld wood branded adhesives came into the fold.
Plastic Wood brand was integrated into the DAP portfolio of products in the 90’s.
I used this Weldwood Multi-Purpose Floor adhesive to apply some new laminate flooring to my kitchen area. I did purchase self-adhere tiles, but wanted to ensure they would stay in place well and for a longer period of time than they otherwise would with the peel-back tape adhesive.
This container comes with full instructions on the back, along with some information regarding the types of materials that it best suits and a small graph regarding coverage dimensions. Note: before you begin, be sure you have something on-hand to either protect or quick-wash your hands.
This is a very strong and sticky adhesive that is very uncomfortable on the skin. It is similar to wood glue in texture; thick and pasty and a sort of off-white/cream color with a slightly yellowish hue.
The instructions note to spread the glue and wait a minute or so until “legs” can form when pressure is applied and released from the surface of the application. These “legs” resemble reverse icicles (apply pressure with the finger and lift; some of the glue begins to lift with the finger until the finger releases-at which time the glue sort of “stands,” or has “legs”).
It is at this point it is ready for your material of choice to be applied and to have the best grip possible. I have included some photos to show the texture: one showing a spread application over a foam plate, another demonstrating the “legs” as noted above, and one reflecting exposed glue that has adhered to the lid rim after use (it becomes rubbery); as well as some general shots of the adhesive itself, and the finished tile after application.
Overall, this is a great product at a very reasonable rate, that stretches well over a decent area. I would buy again.
This was my first time installing a linoleum floor and I must say. it was super easy for this lady. I used painting paper to created a template, then traced it onto the linoleum piece. Used a sharp box knife and cut the piece before laying it in the bathroom.
Then using a notch trowel I applied this multi-purpose floor adhesive to half the floor and laid the linoleum down. I then used my marble rolling pin (yes the baking type) to press out any bubbles. I then pull the other side up, applied the adhesive and followed the same steps.
Boom! That easy!! Now I will tell you that I had this adhesive everywhere but thanks to a little “Goo be Gone” everything cleaned up beautifully. This adhesive worked great and this floor is going nowhere.
I have used this for ceramic crafting and also to adhere gems/beads/shells when making bird and fairy houses. If you let dry inside, they hold up nicely outside as well. I also used to repair a few of my own ceramic items that had chips.
It is a soft marshmellow fluff consistency so you need to get used to how much to use. More is less so that when you press the item onto what you need it stuck to, there is not an extra large blob. I controlled it better with a finger tip for smaller spaces.
You can wipe away excess to make it neat before it dries (nice – can re-shape or re-position if needed).
Flooring adhesive latex-based – multi-purpose water resistant”weldwood” off white size=quart For bonding many types of floor coverings over a variety of surfaces. May be used for installing felt-backed resilient sheet goods, vinyl composition tile (VCT), cork or rubber tile and carpeting backed with polypropylene, jute, rubber, etc.
Forms strong, water-resistant bonds. Nonflammable and easy water clean-up. Long-lasting tackiness allows easy repositioning as well as next day air pocket elimination.
I applied this to a stick on floor tile project as I never trust the self adhesive backing on the tiles. I learned this from a previous experience about 10 years ago. I bought about a half dozen cheap paint brushes and spread the adhesive on the floor one square at a time.
A thin application will work great. Putting too much on will interfere with your tiles meshing exact with one another. It smells a little for about 2-3 days but my tile is now on, rock solid. Do however keep a bottle of mineral spirits and some rags on hand to clean any excess as well as on your skin.
Much safer than gasoline and doesn’t burn your skin.
This glue helped me with my floor project greatly. I bought self sticking floor tiles but they don’t stick well at all. The moment I started using this glue, it was a game changer. The glue is excellent.
Just be careful and use gloves or something, because your fingers will stick to everything fast. This product works and the price is reasonable.
Redoing bathroom with vinyl tile in garage and some walls are cement some plaster board. Works well on both. Cleans up well. Sticks great. Shipping was as fast.

Everbuild Lumberjack 550 Floor Adhesive is a high specification, hybrid polymer, cartridge applied adhesive specially designed for fixing all types of wooden floors directly onto all common substrates.
It is a 100% active solvent and water-free, and therefore will not cause warpage of wood. Has rapid setting properties and remains permanently flexible. It is also suitable for use with underfloor heating, and has excellent acoustic properties.
The product has good instant grab and you can adjust your work for about 15 minutes. Just the right consitency , not too runny or too thick. Can wipe off excess with soapy water or white spirit. Used to relay parquet flooring.
No strong smell either. Highly recommended for smaller projects or repairs.
I installed a floating solid wood floor using the appropriate underlay on a concrete base, but didn’t like the slight spongy feeling as the underlay compressed slightly when walking over the floor. I took it all up, chucked the underlay away, and stuck the boards directly to the concrete using the recommended batten technique.
Result – an absolutely solid feel to the floor with no creaking. I imagine you could use this adhesive for a wide range of building projects.
Speed Set Wood Glue from Titebond is an extremely fast-set, high solids PVA adhesive, which provides exceptional gap filling properties to develop a bond stronger than wood. Pre fitting is recommended! Open assembly time is 2-4 minutes at 70 degrees; an 8-10 minute total assembly time and a total clamping time of about 15 minutes.
Speed Set offers excellent sandability, is unaffected by finishes, and increases productivity with a shorter clamp time. Its also visible under black light, which makes it easier to find during cleanup.
We loved this glue at first. Then discovered if you do not CONSTANTLY keep it stirred/shaken, it has NO bonding strength. We have had to make refunds to several of our customers after the items we shipped to them had stuff literally just falling off.
This glue sets up FAST! You weren’t kidding when you said 15 minutes clamping time. Great stuff, but be careful with when to use it. I glued a small block to a board and had a hard time to adjust its position about two minutes later.
Non-toxic, solvent-free, 1-part, cleans up with water. Safer to use than traditional waterproof wood glues and offers superior bond strength. Provides strong initial tack, sands easily without softening.
Longer open assemble time, lower application temperature, unaffected by finishes. Passes ANSI/HPVA Type I water-resistance specifications. FDA approved for indirect food contact, such as cutting boards.

Titebond Polyurethane Glue is a breakthrough in adhesive technology. It is the only polyurethane glue to combine a long 30-minute working time with a short 45-minute clamp time*. It is a versatile, professional-strength glue specifically formulated for multi-purpose applications.
In addition to its superior wood-to-wood performance, Titebond Polyurethane Glue is ideal for metals, ceramics, most plastics, HPL, Corian, stone and other porous/non-porous materials. It is ready-to-use, offers excellent sandability and is unaffected by finishes.
A good and useful waterproof glue. It expands whilst curing (so don’t use too much) and fills small gaps. It resists the weather here in Argyll which is very testing and the large plastic door that I used it to repair is holding up well.
I have also used it to make a sturdy generator trolley and it stands up to both the damp conditions and the vibration very well. I’d recommend it to anyone. It was a good price. The vendor sent it quickly and it was well packaged.
Tip. Store the bottle ‘top down’ to keep fresh glue at the nozzle.
This product is a superior replacement for the regular 2-part epoxy used for gluing steel tubes into wooden or acrylic pen blanks. On contact with moisture in the air, the glue foams up to fill all the gaps and so there is less chance of the blank splitting off the tube in the final stages of turning.
Cost is a fraction of epoxy (about 25%), has a longer shelf life, and does not need pre-mixing so less mess and no waste. A “win-win” product for turning pens & highly recommended.
Bonds well. Glued a metal hook to slate for hanging, and also mended neighbour’s garden ornament. Very pleased with performance so far. Will order again when I’ve used this. Would recommend to friends and family.
Maybe the glue is okay, but the application technology is so bad, no one would ever know. The nozzle is impossible to work with. It’s fully of air and you have to squeeze with two hands to get anything to come out.
You can only applyt he glue in a downward fashion, so any project that requires you to apply glue at an angle or from underneath is impossible. All you’ll get is air coming out. Unusable.
Most glue is about the same. Evo, no-nonsense, etc. Gorilla glue dries clear and allows some wriggle room with setting. The best feature is the bottle. Excellent way to open and close. Glue cones out in the quantity you need and you don’t need a vice grip to force more glue out.
Much better than the others I’ve tried. I even reused the bottles with other glue I had in the house.
Wood adhesive instant bond interior – thick viscosity size 4 ounces An applicator must be applied to the surface before using this item. See SKU # 290. 4241 for applicator. Provides a strong, permanent bond.
Ideal for hard to reach joints or surface areas that are difficult to clamp and bonding end-grain in a miter joint a pplication, quick assembly of jigs and fixtures, adhering turning blocks to scrap blocks on a faceplate for immediate use.
Designed primarily for wood and wood products. Also effective on a wide variety of materials and substrates. 1500 cps viscosity offe rs an assembly time of 10 seconds and an initial cure speed of 8 seconds.
NOT intended for Exterior use or where moisture is likely. MIL Spec (A46050C) Type II, Class 3. Between 2800 and 4200 psi shear strength at room temperature dependingon substrate tested.
Worked great for putting together outside corners on crown molding or even on connecting lengths over 16 feet. I used it with the spray activator. I would have given it a 5 star rating had it been for the fact that the original 2 oz container I purchased hardened with only 1/4 of the bottle used.
Could be because I stored it in my un-conditioned garage or that I am just a DIY’er and not a high volume user.
Very useful for assembling small parts without waiting for glue to dry, with a big saving of time and no standdown time as with traditional glues. Very strong bond with wood and also for locking grubscrews etc.
Have not had it long enough to be able to say how long it lasts in the container once it has been opened for first use.
l am trying to glue scarf joints on red cedar for my canoe, WHAT A JOKE !!!! l spent $24. 00 on the thick stuff and the only thing it would glue was my fingers. l tried to face glue 2 smooth pieces together and left it for 5 minutes and wasn`t even close to bonded, l could have had a better bond with grease!!!! Not going to spend another $25.
00 for the accelerator, W/ shipping. you would think they would tell you that you might need the accelerator but not a word. Very disappointed to say the least!!!!.
Dries Clear in 24 hrs! Fix-A-Floor Repair Adhesive “Now Patented”, is an Extra Strength Bonding Adhesive customized for the specific use of Re-Bonding loose and hollow tile, marble, stone & creaky wood floors without the expense and mess of removing or replacing them.
Fix-A-Floor is a simple do it yourself repair that is fast, easy and affordable not to mention fun and quite rewarding to anyone who can operate a drill, caulking gun and mix up a small batch of grout.
Works on all sub-floor materials. Just Drill & Fill! Uses a large 30 oz. contractor size caulk gun.
“Fix-A-Floor” is good value at $9. 50 with local pickup but expensive at $20+. Have use 47 cartridges to date and is easy to apply and have achieve a 90% success rate. Leave for 2-3 days with weights on before moving to next section.
The biggest problem was rounding up enough buckets and weights. The std 3mm tungston-carbide drills work very well on the grout but am yet to use them on the actual tiles to rectify hollows in the centre of some tiles.
Using this product is a lower cost alternative to relaying the tiles and in my case installing a new kitchen.
It works well! Inject through small holes in the grout and it fills up any voids. It is satisfying seeing the adhesive ooze from neighbouring holes as you pump it in! As it is (and has to be) quite runny (similar consistency to PVA glue), It could do with a better applicator that automatically cuts the flow when removed from the hole, to prevent spillage.
You have to quickly cover the end with your finger as you move from hole to hole. I also had some leakage from the back on one of the tubes, not sure if it was the tube or if I was pumping too hard, but I ended up in quite a mess! You potentially need quite a lot (I had to use half a tube just fixing one slate) so could work out expensive for large floors, although probably still cheaper, quicker and easier than re-laying the whole floor! It would be better sold in larger (better value) containers, e.
g. 5 litres, with a refillable purpose designed ‘no leak’ applicator. Overall, very glad I found this product because it did the job!.
I was VERY sceptical about this product and it was qute expensive. BUT. PRO’s. When I got it I was still sceptical, But I (unusually) read the instructions whein seemed pretty easy. And it is! Long story short, I used as directed, to refix some loos floor tiles in my Ensuite.
one had come COMPLETELY adrift! The tiles cost a LOT of money and cracked/ came loose as out new house settled. They were stuck directly to the subfloor and we have underfloor heating, so ripping it all up would have been a NIGHTMARE.
24 hours after useing as directed. I have to admit I was VERY VERY IMPRESSED!! Cons; really I cannot complain about this product. But just be aware of the following. The tube I used only did about half the job,( but WHAT A JOB!) So be prepared to pump in as much as you need, it will still be cheaper buy more than to re-tile.
It is VERY VERY VERY runny so remember to have a wet cloth handy and to put your finger over the end of the nozzle as quickly as you can when going from one hole to the next. I have now ordered a second tube to finish the job as I am certain this has sorted my problems.
Far from being *expensive*, compared to the costs and work involved in re tiling the floor, this is a VERY cheap alternative! SO glad I discovered this product and ignored my sceptical side. (I am a property maintenance engineer working on a large commercial site so I spend 5 days a week repairing buildings.
I have used some rubbish products / tools etc. over the years ,but this is the Daddy!!!.
Water Resistant Wood GluennFor a strong, fast bond across a variety of wood surfaces, this is a hard working, water resistant formula, perfect for indoor and outdoor use. It is an easy to use, water based PVA adhesive, with the holding power that Gorilla is known for.
It dries a natural colour so youu2019re guaranteed a clean looking bond line for all your projects.
Gorilla Wood Glue is the adhesive that woodworkers, carpenters and hobbyists trust for their woodworking projects. Gorilla Wood Glue, a PVA glue, offers the benefits of an easy-to use, water-based adhesive, with the holding power Gorilla is known for.
The glue is incredibly water resistant and dries a natural color that offers an invisible bond line for your projects.
Gorilla Glue is the finest all purpose premium polyurethane wood glue available today. Gorilla Glue is environmentally friendly, incredibly strong, 100 waterproof, will not freeze, requires no mixing, does not become brittle with age and will not expand or contract in the glue joint.
You can even glue up oily exotics without the kind of surface preparation required by other glues. You only need to apply Gorilla Glue to one surface, so your glue lasts twice as long. Clean up is easy and non-hardened glue may be removed with denatured alcohol, thinner or other common solvents.
Gorilla Glue is 100 pure and contains no solvents or additives.
I bought this for an experiment: Glue soles back onto athletic shoes. I’ve previously tried every flexible-when-cured adhesive known to man. No Luck. (Believe it or not- Cheap hot glue was the best- until this came along.
) I don’t know why I didn’t think of polyurethane adhesive earlier. This polyurethane adhesive worked very well on the shoes. I was surprised. About twenty-four hours after application (with a 2 hour clamp time), I flexed the shoe like crazy.
Next I tried tearing the sole off. After that, I soaked the joint in water. It held up just fine. When it’s well below zero degrees, I will be interested to see how well the glue holds. Note that the bubbled out adhesive where I over-applied was easy to scrape off.
It was light tan in color. Also note that I tired it on steel-to-steel and wood-to-wood. The steel worked well.
This glue is great. There is a bit of technique to use it correctly and get the best performance, but on the right materials and used correctly there is nothing better (IMO). Shelf life can be an issue with this large bottle, so I store it in the refrigerator.
There was an issue with my order but the vendor responded instantly and generously to resolve it. Kudos to them.
I love Gorilla Glue. There is a slight learning curve for using it. Be sure to read the directions before use and make sure you have all the supplies you need around you when you start your project. We use Gorilla Glue in our home for all sorts of projects, it is our go to adhesive.
Recently, the bottom of my daughter’s shoe fell off. She used Gorilla Glue to reattach the sole, and it was as good as new. We use it for rubber, plastic, wood, all sorts of materials. It does take a little longer to dry than other glues, but that allows me to reposition if need be, and my fingers don’t get stuck together.
I always keep a damp rag near me when using it. Gorilla Glue expands as it cures, so keep that in mind. You don’t need a ton. Also, keep it out of reach of children and dogs.
I am using this glue as an “end grain sealer” for two large (30-inch diameter) wood cross-cuts. I’m pleased with how it’s working so far. It seems to have slowed/stopped a developing crack that wasn’t major, but that I was concerned about.
And, it seems to have prevented any additional cracks. It also puts a really nice gloss on the wood, although that’s not why I’m using it. The cross-cuts are about 4 inches thick and, based on what I’ve read, will take a few years to dry.
After they dry and are at a consistent moisture level (I’m drying them in a “sunken basement” room in our house), my husband and I plan to use a router with sled to level and reduce the thickness of the cross-cuts — as far as I know, that’s when I’ll know whether my efforts to keep them from cracking beyond usefulness were successful.
Hopefully, the dried glue won’t be a problem when we try to level and reduce the thickness of the cross cuts — I haven’t research that yet. I’ve read that keeping wood cross cuts from cracking can be quite a challenge.
But, with using this glue as an end grain sealer, I would say, so far, so good. I found a video online that gave me the idea to use this glue as an end grain sealer, and I’m really glad I found that video.
I have used this glue for many years now. If a non-waterproof glue is OK for your requirements then this is one of the best especially if only small amounts are needed each time. This glue has a very long shelf life and providing it is kept in a relatively cool place it will be usable for many years after original purchase.
Yes there are other excellent Titebond glues which have variant degrees of waterproofing qualities but these have a much shorter shelf life and need to be used much more quickly.
This glue is the industry standard for woodworking. It provides a strong initial tack and fast speed of set to reduce clamp time. It also develops a bond stronger than the wood itself, offers excellent sandability and is unaffected by finishes.
This glue can help any woodworker achieve professional-looking results. It is ideal for wood, hardboard, particleboard, leather, cloth and most other porous materials. This glue is easy to use, non-toxic and cleans up with water.
Super fast white wood glue. For bonding all kinds of hardwood and softwood species. Ideal for bonding of laminated flooring. Dries transparent DIN 68602 on. Meets the requirements-B2 and to the D1-and D2-EN204 standard according to.
