20 Best Glue For Transition Strips (2023 Updated)

I used this for vinyl baseboards. I had initially tried baseboard glue (maybe works on thicker vinyl but w/ absolutely no tack, I found it impossible to use) but this was MUCH easier and held way better.

When first applied it could sometimes be tough to get the baseboards to stick flush in some places (areas w/ bumps, old glue, holes), but miraculously when left alone for a few hours it seemed to tighten the adhesion and pull the baseboards evenly against the wall.

Definitely recommend for this application.

I used this tape to help secure some vinyl peel and stick tiles over top of an existing vinyl floor. Most of the tiles stuck well with the adhesive backing they already had, but a few would not stick no matter what I tried – this tape solved that problem for me and worked brilliantly! Very strong and easy to use.

I used this tape to stick vinyl plank flooring on top of a porcelain tile floor. I didn’t want to use a glue product. It was installed 8 months ago and there has been NO lifting or release of the vinyl.

Based on my experience I recommend it.

I am giving Titebond Extend II a tentative 5 stars. I have used it in mild weather with good results. The proof will be in 90 degree plus weather when regular Titebond sets up fast enough to make assemblies with dovetails or finger joints problematic.

Another good titebond glue. Longer setup time is useful for some projects. I have even used it to glue leather to wood. (recommended by Titebond techs)

Used on my daughter’s countertop miters and was glad for the extra set time as I was underneath tightening bolts while my assistant was busy misaligning the joint from above. Had to do some hammering with a block but I was able to move it into place.

The clear color worked well with the white counters too.

We have tried many different glues building weight bearing bridges. This one has the best combined value for relatively fast drying, not too runny, and dries light. It does not cost us $25 an ounce. Proper drying time allows to reposition the wood when needed.

It is fairly strong when dry, but not very penetrative even with balsa. We sometimes coat the joints with balsa glue to build a bigger bounding zone after it was dry.

I’ve had been looking for a strong glue that wouldn’t run during positioning at different angles and alas. I found it. Titebond’s Quick & Thick proved itself in my latest project in applying a last minute moulding decision on a cabinet I built in a niche.

It holdfast to the spot I applied it to and never sagged insuring a minimum cleanup operation. Thanks Titebond for delivering a GREAT product again!.

Installed two sheets of paneling on a kitchen wall (garage on other side). Used liberal amounts of glue in “s” patterns across the panels and also around the perimeters. Used brad nails to hold it in place.

Less than a month later, the middle of both panels separated from the wall and bowed out, as well as along parts of the seams. Pried out the edges of the panels and can see where the glue is now half on the wall, half on the panels.

Not sure why it failed, but now I need to start over (will be using heavy duty construction adhesive this time).

I used this to attach wood panels to cabinets in the kitchen. It was super easy to use and spread on the panels. I like that there is a little “give” to make final adjustments when putting the panel in place.

I think used a nail gun to pin the wood and it is solidly attached. I also used this to put up some interlocking wood boards on a wall. Went up easy and quick. Didn’t have any obnoxious odors. The caulking gun I used required some practice as it tends to provide a little pressure even after you release the tension.

Just be careful you keep the nozzle directed to your work surface until it stops. Otherwise, you’ll have a mess to clean-up.

I tried this Liquid Nails Paneling Wood & Foam Molding Adhesive on a couple different wood projects that had been needing to be fixed and I was very impressed! The Liquid Nails was very easy to apply and there wasn’t any strong odor.

Neither project required me to use clamps to hold the items in place and I had enough time to place the items how I needed/wanted them. The excess Liquid Nails was easy to remove with a damp cloth, while still wet, and it did dry clear.

Projects were dry and strongly bonded quickly, as claimed! I will definitly buy this in the future!.

I had really high hopes for this stuff. I have a project in my backyard that has not been going well. I was hoping this stuff would be perfect for the job. This stuff was super easy to open and it came out of the container super easy.

I smeared it on the back of the wood piece and stuck the wood piece on my project. I applied pressure for 30 seconds and them even propped something against it. Some of the piece however were just not sticking.

I was applying more pressure and putting things against and the next day took the item away from it and the stupid wood pieces still did not stick on. I really wanted this to work. Some pieces stuck fine and others not so much.

This is a product that really works, even under heat and pressure. I used to fix my split plastic part of radiator hose of my car. I was skeptical that it would work under such heat and pressure just close to engine as it says on packing max 80C.

I read the review of one person who fixed crack in radiator reservoir tank and it fixed from him. This inspired me to go ahead Here’s what I did. 1. Thoroughly clean both surfaces, sandpaper is ideal for this job.

Later, cleaned with alcohol hand sanitizer. ( every one has it in these covid days) 2. Dry the surfaces 3. Make sure you take equal quantities of resin and hardner, from each tube. Mix as instructed on packing.

This is a chemical reaction and works more perfectly at warmer temperatures, so I had to take out that broken plastic hose from radiator and brought in home. 4. Apply the mixed compound to the required area and hold it firm or place under light pressure.

This is the most critical part to ensure that after sticking both parts, there should stay intact without even slight movement. I didn’t wipe the excess as I wanted to reinforce the joint externally.

5. Immediately after sticking both parts together, I warmed the joint with hair drier for 10 minutes, then 5min break and then for another 10 min and left overnight for about 12 hours. 6. In the morning, it was solid hard and ready to be fitted.

7. its 2 weeks now, 600kms driven in summer, still no leak at all. I am very happy that this product has saved me from expensive replacement part. hope this helps you too. Regards.

I used Araldite Rapid adhesive to attach a piece of wood to the interior of a fibreglass boat. Despite the 5 minute reference in the name, I would say that it took about an hour to go hard enough to handle in 15c to 20c.

This is still pretty good in my opinion because some epoxy resins take several hours. The glue did not drip out of the joint despite me using quite a thickness to fill the uneven gap – good again. I temporarily held the wood in place with duct tape while it went hard.

I fully expect that after 24 hours it will have cured to full strength and be stronger than both the wood and the fibreglass. I have used epoxy resin of all sorts and this one is very convenient to measure out and use.

I’d been looking at both this and the Gorilla Resin. This is a little cheaper and had better reviews, but didn’t have the syringe function. I went with this as it had better reviews and I’m glad I did.

Easy enough to squeeze out and the mixing plastic tool is surprisingly useful. I used it on plastic and taped the joint while it set (even taping over where the epoxy had been). After 30-mins removed the tape (and it came off the epoxy part fine) and then left it for another couple of hours to fully set.

Very, very strong. I’d recommend reading the instructions (on the packet) before use, just so you do what it says to do (the trick of using a blade to remove excess whilst it is partially set works well too).

Plenty in the tubes though and OK to store given there can be no cross contamination. Really pleased with the purchase and Toolstation excellent as usual with C+C with it being in stock in the local store.

Have been using this product – on and off – for over 25 years. Brilliant and sympathetic for restoration jobs (not just wood). Brilliant when you have a complex (slow) clamping-up project. Reversible.

Definitely has a place on the ‘glue bottle shelf’. In response to the reviews commenting upon the ‘short shelf life’, yes it’s annoying they no longer put the expiry date on the bottle but I always write the purchase date on it when it comes to workshop.

If it’s very thick when taking delivery, bringing it to room temperature will sort it. If it’s past its shelf life I have found it will separate out and go very thin. When in doubt, do a test glue by ‘edge jointing’ a couple of boards then try knocking them apart the next morning – you will soon see whether its sticking or not.

! This is a unique product without an equal, so I accept it for what it is and buy in small quantities for the immediate job in hand.

Made sisal on wood cat scratching board to be screwed onto a wall. Needed non toxic product to glue the sisal onto a wood board. My research found Titebond Liquid Hide Glue to be very low in toxins (as compared to other glues available) as my cat would be scratching this product daily.

Holds very well, no odour. Unsure regarding waterproofing as used indoors. More expensive but worth it to keep toxins out of my home. Preferable for use with childrens craft projects. Recommend.

The Franklin 5013 Liquid Hide Glue was a lucky find for me. I used it for two very minor cracks in a classical guitar’s top. I settled it into the cracks and wiped off the excess glue. It dries clear and not too shiny.

I understand that luthiers have used this ‘type’ of glue for centuries, probably making it themselves. So, as a modern person, to locate it ready-made makes it a valuable find. I watched a couple videos of the man who repairs Willie Nelson’s guitar and the product name appeared as a pop-up during the video.

Lucky, right? That gave me the brand name to find on eBay in the U. S. and in Canada. I am an amateur woodworker and knew about hide glue but had no brand name to pursue. One more consideration is that this glue can be dissolved and bad repairs un-done.

Or done over. So violin-makers can take apart instruments without ruining the wooden pieces, repair them on the inside, as it were, and put them back together again. Very cool!.

I have been using Zap a gap for around 30 years i swear by it, I use it to bond 28mm miniature war game model made from metal, resin and hard plastic together. I apply a small amount which create a strong bond that last 20 plus.

The only downside is that it may take me 3 to 6 month to use 1/2oz of glue that the cap starts to get clog and aloud air to get and the rest of the glue and it harden in the bottom.

This small bottle has the same ‘ease of use’ as the larger versions. The product is the best we’ve found for gluing small metal pieces together, even working with painted surfaces. We use if for 15mm miniatures, but it can be used in many places where metal parts need joining.

However, it has relatively poor strength when the surfaces are painted.

I have used this product for 30 years. I am a model builder and this product, along with all the Pacer/Zap products revolutionized the building process. I strongly recommend this product for all your modeling needs.

Worked as advertised. Needed extra time to get mitered joints on a cabinet lined up and clamped. The T Titebond Extend Wood Glue gave me that time. I had tried Tightbond III previously with the understanding that it gave a bit of additional time, the bit really wasn’t much at all.

Yellow sticky stuff with a longer extend time than some other yellow sticky stuff. It sticks wood together. Slower. How well? – Ask me in 10 years time

Excellent glue. Dries very hard and easy to chip or trim excess off. Sands well also. My only concern is the drying time is still too short for what I hoped for. Admittedly it is pretty warm at the moment but I was hoping for a bit longer.

I have been a picture framer, carpenter and DIY maniac for 30 years. This glue blows my mind. I’ve used it for fixing lino, small tile repairs, light wood joints and many other repairs. But it was when I sat on my glasses that I realised how good it is.

The rubbery plastic of my glasses broke at the hinges both sides. I figured I’d bin them, but thought I’d try the RapidFuse to connect the arms back against the hinges, expecting no luck. After holding the joints tightly for 30 seconds, I was amazed I could put the glasses back on.

Three months later, they are still well intact. I can’t close the arms on the hinges obviously but I can slightly bend them against the frames and the arms still flex but not break! Incredible. I can’t recommend RapidFuse highly enough.

I absolutely LOVE this product!! It is by far one of the best out there on the market today. and I have used it to literally glue almost anything back together or to anything else. I can not think of one instance where this glue did not work.

I highly recommend it!! It doesn’t dry 100% clear, but mostly so. Doesn’t take much!! As long as you keep it pretty thin, it stays clear.

Have never found a glue as good as this. I used it to glue the rubber on bottom of my cowboy boots, it was separating from boots on both feet between toe & heel. It’s been a month now & still holding strong! Even walking through cow doo everyday & even wet rainy conditions! Absolutely will be buying more & recommend to everyone I know!.

Great stuff but you need to use a roller to apply or it will be to thick to level out. Using a roller with 10 mm nap and it sticks instantly. The price is ridiculous but the quality is great. Thanks.
