20 Best Glue For Cardstock Paper (2023 Updated)

Why a single star when I LOVE this glue…? Because every. damn. time I get 1/2 or 2/3 of the way I through a bottle…the rest won’t come out no matter what I do. Last night I needed some-I took a pallet knife I had handy and was literally trying to “dig” out even a small bit of glue.

It was like a half solvable rock! Paying at least $ 8-12 per bottle and can only use a small portion of it. So sad. It’s better than it’s counterparts but we should get a refund for not being able to use the whole thing.

I ordered this online because it is not easy to get to the store and it is a bit out of my routine, plus I have cut back on going anywhere except work because of COVID. So this (my favorite glue) arrives as a solid.

Not a glue. Not useful at all. I was waiting especially for it too. I read the return requirements and I can pay a return fee which is the same amount I paid for the glue, or I can go to the store. Not happy.

I got this to make greeting cards with after seeing a person on YouTube using it and saying how wonderful it was. I don’t like it at all for that purpose. I made a huge mess, and had an awful time cleaning hands, etc.

I will say it is probably a great glue but not for cards. It dries rubbery to me. It does hold. Not water cleanup, not sure what.

I don’t use glue sticks much because I haven’t had much success with them, so I can’t give an opinion about those. I got this package mainly for the glue stick pen because I wanted to be able to draw thin lines with it.

Sadly, the tip of the glue stick pen isn’t tapered, it is flat, just like a regular glue stick, so it was useless for my purpose. The bigger liquid glue bottle is great glue that works on paper well, but the entire bottom of the bottle came off after just a few uses.

I was able to use hot glue to attach something to the bottom so the glue didn’t dry up, but not long after that, the entire top came off too, so the bottle was unusable.

Works great! Love the variety! Plenty of mileage to start multiple books. Just bought my second set.

This glue gave me a way to arrange printed outlines of pieces of furniture that I printed on photo paper on a floor plan to see how they fit. They stayed securely on the plan. This was much better than hand drawing the furniture outlines on Post-It notes with just a thin sticky edge to hold them on the floor plan.

The Post-It note pieces tended to fall off of the floor plan. And the printed pieces could be done in appropriate colors with other useful details.

These purple Scotch glue sticks are my all time favorite and I will not use other brands. I’ve tried them all and (for me at least) these are the best. I love that you can see with the purple where you are laying glue down and once it starts to fade you know it’s about to start drying.

I just cannot use other glue sticks where you don’t have that system to rely on. I’m very into cut-and-paste crafts so I feel other glue nerds know what I’m talking about. Also, when I purchased these on here I wasn’t sure if I was getting 1 glue stick or 1 three pack like I would usually see in the stores when I could still find these in the store.

So for anyone wondering this is for 1 single glue stick, but it’s much larger than the ones that came in the 3 packs. Still a wonderful deal for how well these work!!.

I’m an Administrator of a Childcare/Preschool that services approximately 200 children daily. We use the scotch glue sticks on a daily basis and Love them!!! However, I am interested in finding them at a reduced cost or donation if possible.

We have been operating during the Covid Pandemic but our finances have been greatly effected, so any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

My 6-year-old daughter and I have been using these glue sticks for schoolwork and art projects over the past few weeks. We used them on cut and paste workbook activities as well as construction paper art projects, and they worked well in both cases.

The one material they didn’t hold on was foam (we did an art project using pre-cut foam pieces/shapes). My daughter is used to using glue sticks, but I hadn’t used one in a long time. I was definitely impressed with how smoothly the glue stick glides across the paper.

It leaves a very light, thin and smooth coating (no clumps or bumps at all). I like that these glue sticks are extra strength, dry clear and produce a permanent bond. They also don’t create the mess that liquid glue can create.

These glue sticks are my new favorite glue product because they are so easy to use and produce great results.

I have always used Elmer’s Extreme glue stick to attach 140lb watercolor paper to card stock for greeting cards. When that ran out out, I saw this and thought it would be exactly what I needed. It says for use gluing paper to paper.

NOT!! The watercolor paper practically fell off of the card stock. I had to use my old, messy Elmer’s glue to get them to stick together. I will be returning this and searching for the Extreme version.

I’m thinking all those other 5 star reviews are bogus.

Really great product that turns any piece of paper, or up to 300g card into post it type notes. It even works on big sheets. You do have to be quite generous with it but one stick could do a whole notebook of pages easily.

Why there is no equivalent in the UK, I don’t know. UHU used to make one but they don’t any longer and the only other thing available is from old stock and is all dried out, so I ordered this from the US and waited about a month for it to arrive.

I am an artist and like to display particular patterns or colour combinations on my walls for ispiration. This is ideal for that and stays put, unlike all other products I have tried.

Elmer’s Craft Bond Mini Glue Gun Dual-Temp (20 W) is a great brand and great quality. I absolutely love the dual temperature low and high, which is handy when you are working on multiple or certain projects.

It has a safety feature on the nozzle to help protect from burns, which is a huge plus! Even thou the size is tiny, it is very comfortable to handle and simple to use! Size doesn’t even have anything wrong with it I love how tiny, yet it’s super powerful! You have to get the right size glue sticks.

This glue gun is also great for beginners! This is highly recommended to any and everyone, beginners or not! It’s from a great brand and you will not be disappointed!.

I really like the Dual Temp Mini Glue Gun. What I like about the product is how it has two different temperature settings, low and high. I also like how it has a safety feature on the nozzle that helps to protect you from burns.

The glue gun also comes with built in side lifts to allow it rest safely on its side, and also has a safety feature to shut the glue gun off in the event of a short. The glue has 20 watts of powers, and I like how it fits comfortably into my hand when using.

The high setting is for items such as wood, plastics, metals, and papers, while the low setting is mainly for fabrics, lace, ribbons, and such. The glue gun takes mini glue sticks that are easy to find in any craft, hobby, or major retailer.

I love this mini glue gun. Please take note this dosen’t come with the glue sticks so you will need to buy some before use. This glue gun is very convenient for multi use and many projects in or outside the house.

I must admit my favorite part of this glue gun is that it can be switched from hot to cold. I don’t have to go and hear up two different glue guns now for one project. This also fits in my hand perfectly.

This would also be a great glue gun for someone that’s learning for the first time. Overall I highly recomend this bad boy it heats up fast, dual temp, right size, dependable and the best I’ve used so far.

Alden’s has always been my favorite tacky glue. Still is. But this bottle seeped onto other products in the package. Someone didn’t tighten the cap before packaging. It came in an envelope with very little cushion.

Other things have come alone in a box when this envelope would have sufficed, and these should have come in the box. Common sense!!.

Finally! This packaging is perfect, this makes it so much easier while making paper projects. A perfect, fine line is dispensed with the use, and, as its name implies, it is always ready. I use larger bottles still if more glue is needed, but this is perfect for small pieces while creating.

Env: development One of my favorite tools is the X-acto Corner Rounder Punch. This is a very simple item to use – my 7-year old son used it with ease, and it instantly makes your paper look polished and fancy.

It rounds each corner precisely and evenly so they all match so it looks very professional. Simply insert any paper corner and it snips it off into a perfect rounded corner. The Elmer’s Craft Bond all purpose glue stick, is simple to use and dries quickly.

Shaped like chapstick it is acid-free so it’s safe to use with photos. Great with any crafting product or to jazz up Christmas cards, thank you notes, etc. The only problem I have with this is getting the cap off.

For some reason it really takes alot of tugging to get it off. The Elmer’s Craft Bond glue spots, which I have never used before, are also acid-free and safe to use with pictures, scrapbooking, card making, and paper crafts.

They came 8 to a package and are 1/8 inch thich and 1/2 inch in diameter. This is a pre-formed bit of glue that you can easily place anywhere desired, its as easy as it souds. I found these especially good with thicker items, these spots really hold firm.

The Elmer’s Craft Bond clear dual tip glue pen is nice since it’s acid-free but I don’t see much advantage over a regular bottle of Elmer’s glue, which also has a small opening for precise application.

The Elmer’s Craft Brand permanent tape runner is a clear adhesive, high tack, acid-free strip of “double sided tape” that you slide across your project, lift up, and the tape has been applied. I really like this, it is simple and quick to use and it sticks quickly.

It doesn’t “gush” out like regular glue so you don’t have to worry about sticking something to this and having glue squirt out. It comes with a nice cover so it doesn’t stick to anything when not in use.

Env: development Being a BzzAgent, I received several products to try out from Elmer’s CraftBond and X-ACTO. As an avid card maker, I could not wait to try out my new crafting goodies! The first product that I used was Elmer’s CraftBond Permanent Tape Runner.

The Tape Runner is wonderful for piecing together and layering your cardstock before the creativity begins. Next up was Elmer’s CraftBond Clear Dual Tip Glue Pen. This product is amazing! The dual tips are fantastic when it comes to the size of the area that you will need to bond.

As you can see in my photo, I used this pen several times. I used the fine point tip to trace snowflakes and small detailed areas before applying glitter, pom poms and buttons. The wider tip came in handy for bonding slightly larger areas and adhering sentiments on the inside of the cards.

My third product of choice (which is also my favorite) was the Elmer’s CraftBond Glue Spots. Glue spots definitely make cards “pop” by adding a 3D effect. I used several Glue Spots amongst my cards; from raising the snowman’s hat to lifting the bird above his hand and giving my penguins the spotlight; Glue Spots make all of this possible.

Next up, using my X-ACTO Scalloped Decorative Edge Scissors, I trimmed out a small piece of white cardstock, stamped “Holiday Greetings” on the front and finished the look with some diamond glitter dust.

Elmer’s CraftBond All Purpose Glue Stick came in handy for quick bonds throughout the cards and my X-ACTO Zig Zag Decorative Edge Scissors gave a modern look with a layered appeal in areas for personal messages.

X-ACTO’s Corner Rounder Punch was quick and easy to use, making classy rounded edges on both cards and scrapbooking pages alike. My overall opinion of Elmer’s CraftBond and X-ACTO brand products can be summed up in one word – Outstanding! I will definitely continue using these products as they simplify the card making world in general.

With reliable bonds and creative cut edges, my cards are certain to be a hit! I am absolutely ecstatic that I was able to try these products and will continue to spread the word to all of my card making and scrapbooking friends! Env: development.

Overall they are below average in terms of use. They will make things stick together, but the problem is the slightly higher melting temperature the glue requires, makes it really difficult for everyday craft/art, and application purposes.

I’m a professional artist, I also am the owner of an art studio (for all ages, adults included), as well as the art teacher for a local school (K-8th). Over the years I have used many different types of glue glue sticks for different projects.

What I find frustrating about this particular type of glue stick (maybe because it’s manufactured as a “bulk” item), is the fact that it does not go through the hot glue gun as smoothly, there is much hesitation, almost as if the hot glue gun can’t melt the glue fast enough.

As a result when the glue comes out it hardens much faster (since it’s not melted as well as it could be) so you have very very very little time to work with the glue, unlike most standard normal average hot glue.

And incase your wondering. I also tested my hot glue gun with other types/brands of hot glue sticks, to make sure that it wasn’t my hot glue gun that was dying and not able to have a hot temperature to melt the glue.

So basically after my testing and experimenting with other glue sticks using the same hot glue gun, I have determined that yes this particular brand does not melt at the same rate as many of the other types of hot glue sticks.

Unfortunately I am now stuck with 5 pounds of these glue sticks. I will use them, (just because I don’t want to waster it) but again it’s not ideal compared to average/standard glue sticks for everyday projects.

Price is good for amount of glue. Glue is NOT HIGH TEMP, but worked fine in my hi temp glue gun. I purchased these because I was tired of reloading my gun on a project requiring a lot of hot glue, but I found the extra length made to be cumbersome in some situations.

Im indifferent to these vs the sticks, it’s a trade off and up to preference.

I needed several blank canvases and wanted several different sizes for my home decor. From doing my research, Blick had the most affordable and the most variety in sizes compared to other stores/websites.

It definitely was a steal and it was totally worth every penny! Shipping was fast too! I definitely will shop again!.

Arrived early! This craft glue great for making dollhouses. Dries clear and bonds quickly while still giving short amount of time to move parts. Works well with wood, paper, and plastic. Would not use anything else.

Scissors, paper, card, felt, bits of cloth and a proper Pritt Stick hours ofentertainmentIve tried the cheapo glue sticks and in my experience Pritt Stick is the best. Its solvent and PVC free and it washes out of clothes at 30C.

It also wipes off surfaces easily. It really does stick things together very well. The adhesive can be applied smoothly and evenly, and there is sufficient time to reposition the object. The cap fits properly which stops the adhesive from drying out.

A great product which is safe and suitable for children.

In common with many of the reviewers here, I have tried other brands of glue stick, but I find Pritt works the best of all. I have also recently tried liquid glue but the technology clearly has not changed since I was at school in 60s, the clear liquid glues soak the paper that you are trying to glue, and take a considerable time to dry.

Pritt spreads smoothly and thinly, without lumps I find some alternative stickglues spread in a lumpy fashionThe size and price for a box of 5 is excellent value. NOTE I did receive 5 in my box, but some reviewers only received 4 in a box.

If that happens simply email the seller via the StationeryPacks message system, Advise them and ask for your 5th tube. Not only can you get what you have paid for, but they can check the rest of their stock.

Not in the usual white red and black tube. Suspect these are for a foreign market. Havent used them yet but they are not as described in the photographs which makes me unsure of them. Wouldnt have bought them if Id known.

Used and bought Pritt for many years as Headteacher, never looked like these.

As an educator, I have always being a fan of Elmer’s glue. So, I’m super happy that they finally came up with a nontoxic formula that is twice as strong. I used the glue on thick card stock, ribbon, and a rope-like cord and worked great.

I do have to say that you have to be a bit patient and press the item to the surface your glueing it to until it dries or it won’t hold. But, once it dries, which does not take long, it’s perfect! Hopefully, it is offer in a smaller presentation.

If not, that would be my only suggestion. A smaller diameter tip is more convenient for detailed work.

When looking for a good effective glue stick it can get tricky. I was in need of a glue stick that would actually work for my kiddos for craft time. I was skeptical but I decided to try this one. It was advertised to stick to more surfaces, so we put it to the test.

We found that it would easily glue paper to paper but when we tried gluing other things is when we fell into trouble. It had a harder time sticking a plastic craft cutout to construction paper. If you leave it for a little while it will eventually adhere.

All in all it works as a glue stick for the kiddos!.

We go through a lot of glue sticks in the house with a first grader. A lot of crafts and STEM projects are done that require gluing. Elmer’s Extra Strength glue sticks came in handy for all of these projects! They held everything together so well, from paper, popsicle sticks, cotton balls, styrofoam cups, to many more items.

The extra strength glue sticks definitely held up better than his regular glue sticks. I was very impressed, and will have Elmer’s Extra Strength glue sticks on our future shopping lists.

This pack of glue is perfect for a household of crafters and students. There are enough glue sticks to go around, and they are a very nice size. My school aged kids have used these several times already, and their projects have all held up well.

I have used these glue sticks for my own little projects for the Elf on the shelf, and I am very pleased with the results. The purple is a nice effect to show where you have already put glue, and I love that it dries clear.

I would definitely recommend this pack of glue sticks to anyone crafty!.

These glue stick work great we use them for a lot of arts and craft projects. The amount of product you get is worth the money you spend. However all good aside the one downfall of these glue sticks is they always seem to make a mess almost like if the glue sticks are melting as your using them.

It looks like melted marshmallows ( Stringy).

Hi, out there, these are glue sticks, they glue papers and such stuff together. They do the job. This particular package of glue sticks was not very price-y. Consequently, I bought several, maybe 10, packages of them.

Then, I donated them to a local elementary school. I just drove to the school, came by a little late in the day but a teacher was just leaving & I handed them off to her. She was most appreciative. I have also taken my school donations to the school office.

Please consider the purchase when on a good sale of school supply type items and then give to a school. It makes you feel good—and, it helps a local school.

For high school classroom use, these glue sticks work and aren’t messy. I bought them for all of my classes to use daily in some instances and mostly on a weekly basis. Therefore I needed a sturdy, long-lasting product which I found in the Staples brand.

The price was excellent since this purchase was out of pocket. I highly recommend Staples products over name brands for durability, quality, and cost.

This glue is apparently waterproof. It goes on purple and dries clear. It’s a little sticky to use, but once its on, it’s on for good. I make sauces and use this glue to adhere labels to the plastic containers and the necks of the containers.

I do cover the label with clear packing tape so the label itself doesn’t tear. The containers have been washed (by hand) over and over and the labels stay on. I bought several packs of these glue sticks because they are so reliable.

Staples, please don’t change the formula.
