It’s amazing! I can take cats blood glucose at home before insulin shots, without having to worry if the dose is too much or too little.

I bought this a year or so ago as an essential kit to undertake regular glucose curve tests on my diabetic dog , Archie. It is very easy to use , the instructions good and is still going strong. Although the replacement test strips seem expensive , it is still SO much cheaper than having the tests done at the vet.

If the ‘peep’ could be quieter Archie too would be very happy !.

My kitty has been suffering from skin allergies for a year or so. She would be visibly itchy (abruptly stopping when playing with her mousie to scratch or munch off her hair) and slowly started munching off all her hair on her arms, entire belly, legs and tail until she was bald! We put her on steroids for a few months and though her hair loss was at a stand still, she didn’t really grow her hair back as she was still munching the same areas.

We are SO glad her vet recommended us to try Atopica. It’s like a miracle! Her hair has been growing back every day for the past few weeks we’ve given it to her! She’s almost to her normal self again.

My cats lip was so severe that nothing worked but this after 7 months, it didn’t take it all way away but enough that I was ready for my own relief, everyday fighting with a cat then she hide on us, I can’t understand why these companies can’t make a flavoring that cats like! Same with wormers cats hate them! The product is good for problem but creates other problems, after a few months I stop giving it because of it all! Then start over down the road.

My cat was having issues of being severely anemic and after lots of test he was dignosed with an autoimmune disease two and a half years ago and was put on predisone to help manage his red blood count.

With long term use of predisone we risk damaging his heart, kidneys and other organs. Every attempt to take him off the predisone his red blood cells would drop into dangerous numbers. So after 2 1/2 years my vet contacted a specialist who suggested putting him on this medication to suppresses immune system to keep his immune system from attacking itself causing the red blood cells to go down while winging him off the predisone.

After a month being on it so far we have gotten him down to 1/4 of a tablet of predisone a day. We are hopeful that we will get my cat off the predisone. However I’ve been told he will need to be on this medicine the rest of his life.

After getting a reading that said “hi”. we started doing 2 test back to back. We have determined, after a year of testing and medicating based on the test reading, each test was significantly different!!!!! First test yesterday “hi” second test 240.

first test today 505, second test 320!!! Ppl. don’t trust the readings! They are not reliable!.

My furbaby Bella has Insulinoma , has now moved into Hospis stage of her cancer, so I have to be sure of accurate blood sugar readings. I am confident they are giving good readings. This is very difficult, I cry alot! Thanks for this product at a reasonable price.

It’s difficult to review a product like this because you have to trust that the test strip readings are accurate, and the glucose meter you’re using it with is accurate. It’s difficult to QC the product unless you had different glucose meters and test strips to use and compare which wouldn’t be practical.

So cost and availability becomes a consideration, so far so good, only time will tell.

We’ve had good results with the Advocate Pet testing products and they’re much less expensive than the others which are ridiculously over-priced. I can’t see spending $55-60 for a 50 count box of the Alpha-Trak strips; that works out to over a $1 / strip! There aren’t too many brands of diabetic pet testing products out there so they take advantage of that.

Best price I’ve found on PetTest test strips. I usually blood test my diabetic dog 2-3 times a day and these are much less expensive than the other dog/cat system. Yes, human meters like the ReliOn Prime are less expensive, but its worth the price difference to have a system designed (calibrated) for dog’s blood Only requires a tiny blood drop and displays the results very quickly.

Couldn’t be happier with this system, or with Walmart for this item and ALL diabetic supplies.

My former employer used OneDrop as a wellness tool so I signed up since it was all free. That included a health coach, who I barely paid attention to, at first. Fast forward a year later and I’m at a different job and paying out-of-pocket with my FSA card because of my amazing coach! Once I decided to truly engage with her, it was a game-changer for me.

The only reason this isn’t 5 stars is I didn’t care for the meter or carrying case. The meter is just ok, feels like cheap plastic, and the carrying case needs to be in a bag or pouch for travel. My current insurance pays for a different meter and testing supplies, but the app and coaching are worth the $20 a month.

So I use an old carrying pouch from an old meter to carry my One Touch meter and supplies, and sync that to the OneDrop app, which is FAR superior to the One Touch app. I do all that so I can keep my coach.

Lindsay is PHENOMENAL! My diabetes got out of control last year and with her help and the app (and my own hard work) I am thriving and my numbers are great again. She answers my questions about eating, fitness (she’s also a personal trainer), gives me support by letting me vent when I’m having a hard day or hating having diabetes.

She cheers me on and helps me figure out the best ways to manage my disease and stay sane while doing it. She sincerely loves to help people and believes in what she does and it shows. If my current employer had OneDrop I wouldn’t have bothered getting a new meter because the OneDrop one, while not stellar, was pretty accurate and worked well and the supplies were free.

I came for the free stuff, and am staying because of my coach and the great app. They work!.

I have a glucose meter but decided to buy this because it connects and shares information with “Apple Health” and “My Fitness Pal”. I figured since I have to keep a log of blood sugar levels, weight, and a dietary log i would like to keep it all in one place.

The Meter The meter itself is small and compact, reads within seconds, and uses a surprisingly small amount of blood. It only has one button (on) and is super simple to use The only draw back is unlike my original meter there is no eject for the test strip, and although it does not matter to me it may matter to some.

The Lancing device A surprisingly simple device with impact adjustment although there are only 3 positive detentes which is not enough for some but worked out OK for me. The lancets are nice with a removable cap for safety and the lancing device has an eject slide to remove the lance, however it is hard to pull the cap after inserting the lance with out pulling it out of the lancing device, some improvement is needed there.

The Software This is the whole reason I bought this glucose meter. There is a lot of information you can track and the features of the app is vast. It will share information with “Apple Health” and “My Fitness Pal” as well as some electronic scales and even blood pressure cuffs.

There are tutorials that I would recommend for any new diabetic as well as a coaching system set up if you pay the subscription (optional). I would recommend the subscription to any diabetic or heart conscious person, the coaches are NOT doctors but people with enough experience to answer questions, help set your goals, and help teach you what questions you should be asking your doctor.

They are a coach in every sense of the word offering encouragement when needed, advice when asked, and a bit of accountability if you decide you need it. This app is not just for diabetics but also for those who need to get heart smart or need to manage weight goals The app is not perfect, it sometimes takes to long to update and can hang up on reports from time to time but I hope this will get better with every update.

It is not immediately intuitive and it takes some poking around before you find everything and learn to use it. I wish it could import your glucose logs from other smart meters to save you the hassle of having to hand type every reading for the past 3 months.

My final thought This is a good glucose meter with a GREAT app that needs some attention to make it intuitive and easy to use, and also to make sure that all the features and reports work with little hassle I would recommend this anyone.

The kit is very attractive in design and in manufacturing. Three essential components of the measurement are conveniently packed in a leather holder. The only problem with this kit is that it is not very reliable in results.

I was using several strips feeding them my blood from a single puncture and the range of results was exceeding 20%. I do not know if there are any measurement tools better than this one, but one cannot rely on these readings.

I’m still kind of new to the whole diabetes thing. I was diagnosed with type 2 in Oct 2012 and I’ve been through three meters already. This one is my favorite overall. I love how it gives you an average reading, I used to test three times a day and doing it at night it can be really hard to see.

This is the only meter that I know of with the backlight that helps you see. I also like how it stores the readings so you can go back and compare or keep a log for the next follow-up appt. The whole sticking myself thing took a while to get used to.

For each reading I had to mentally prepare myself because if I didn’t I would have a panic attack. The Delica lancing device can be adjusted so that you’re not sticking too deep but are still able to get enough blood for your reading without it hurting too much.

They don’t give you many test strips in the kit and to buy them with no insurance it’s just too expensive. You can buy them brand new and sealed on eBay if u can’t afford to buy in the stores. I haven’t really had too many errors with using the meter or the test strips.

Maybe only a couple of times from the test strip sitting in the meter for too long while I’m trying to get blood. Compared to my meter now, TrueResult, I wish I could go back to using my One Touch but it’s too expensive to replenish the supplies I need.

When Len changed HMO’s 15 months ago he was given a new meter, and had to use the corresponding test strips. His HMO have screwed up on sending enough test strips for him, and they have been promised for a week, and not received.

Len tests between 4 and 6 times a day, so I contacted his doctor’s office. They said that they didn’t have the ones he uses but had a new meter, and test strips for him. I asked if he could return the meter when he got his delivery.

They said to keep it. This has to be about the eighth meter he has had. It comes in a pouch with a lancet device, and 10 test strips. The doctor’s office gave him a box with more One Touch Ultra Blue test strips in it.

All meters are similar. You read the instructions, and follow them. New meters not only give you your reading, but date, time, and also an average for the past month. Len found it easy to use, but feels it is such a waste of money that it cannot be returned.

I have a ulrta one touch 2 and I really don’t like it at all. I had a free style lite and loved it. Because our insurance doesn’t cover the free style I had to swithch. The makers of ultra 2 told me they allow for a 30% difference in readings for meters.

For a diabetic thats huge. I should also add I am not insulin dependant thank goodness!.

I bought this because I’m on the keto diet. I thought it would be good to check ketones and glucose. Since I have had this my numbers have never been under 100. always around 130-140. I have been doing a partial fast for a few days, so I checked my blood this morning after not eating for 2 days.

The reading was 166. I almost went to the hospital with those numbers, and literally have been super stressed thinking I’m diabetic since my grandmother died from it. Instead of going straight to the hospital, I went out and bought another brand.

Always in the 80’s or below. OMG what a piece of crap to cause that much stress! After the 166 reading, I immediately took another reading from my other hand and it read 133. I’m breathing a sigh of relief but I would never recommend this brand.

The pic on the right is the Nova Max at the exact same time as the other one. The other one is extremely consistent.

I just received my new Nova Max Plus meter last week. I had a One Touch Ultra but it quit working and they wouldn’t honor the warranty so I purchased the Nova from Diabetic Outlet. Happily this is a so much better meter, easy to use and it only needs about half as much blood to give a reading as the One Touch.

It also has a little bell sound that tells you when it has enough blood to read. It has large easy to read display window.

Bought this as a blood ketone meter for my T1 child. It’s so much better than urine strips because it’s more accurate and results are more current, whereas urine results are hours old. Having a number as a reference is so very helpful in knowing how severe the ketones are.

My only complaint is that the strips are very expensive.

I was given this meter from my endocrinologist to try. I’ve been a Type 1 Diabetic for 26 years and this is the best monitor I have had to date! The screen display is amazing. especially for those middle of the night lows.

It’s always been within calibration to the doctors meter. Test strips are a bit pricier than most, but it is worth it in my opinion. I do not use the lacing device that was included with it as I’ve been using a specific favorite one for many years so I can’t comment about that.

Overall, great monitor, I’d recommend it for anyone!.

I have been using this for a couple of years now. It was prescribed for me by my doctor. I love this monitor. It is very simple and easy to use. The test strips are a lot cheaper than the ones for different brand monitors.

It keeps track of when your blood sugar was high and low. I like its simplicity so much that I purchased this one for my son. I would definitely recommend this.

My son was given this kind when he was diagnosed with Type 1. It’s a great meter. I love that it has a light at the end so that I can check his blood sugar in the night without turning on his main light.

It’s very accurate. I have 3 of these and they all read within 20 points of one another. It is also convenient that you can charge them with a USB cord, no changing of batteries. It also alerts you of high or low patterns.

I bought this some time ago and keep getting error9 message. Have replaced the batteries a number of times. Got some new batteries again last week but still not working. The battery keeps falling out and not staying in position when closed.

I have tried tape,wadding and even holding it with one hand while trying to do the test with the other hand again a complete fail, not great on fingers!.

I couldn’t use this product immediately as there were no testing strips included, this surely should have been indicated in the description! I then had to order testing strips & because there are so many different types I initially ordered the wrong ones.

As these were non returnable I lost my money. I eventually ordered the correct strips but this has been a costly exercise! Also the blood sugar measurements are measured by the American system so a conversion table was needed, all in all not a happy experience.

Measurements are not accurate after 8 weeks. Quite different values when I check twice at same time. Difference is more than. 0.5 sometimes

When I started this journey to monitor my blood sugar levels I did A LOT of research into the different meters. From that I decided to purchase the Contour Next meter because it looked like the easiest to use and took very little blood to get a measurement.

I have not been disappointed with my decision at all. The meter itself is very compact and easy to use. The case provided makes it easy to just drop in my bag and go. This, however, became a little to tedious so I decided to buy a second one to keep at the office.

I would highly recommend this meter to anyone just starting out after a Diabetes diagnosis. Setup was a breeze and the readout is very simple to understand. When you add the phone app to the mix it makes for a stress free way to keep my blood sugar levels in check.

An experienced diabetic might know to use the recommended CONTROL SOLUTION for ANY glucometer they buy, but we’re not all experienced! This kit DID NOT include the solution required for first time use (stated in fine print on the SIDE of the box) which is an additional $25 and is not in stock at my location! I’m very upset they wouldn’t include an essential item for use in this kit.

Very stupid marketing strategy. Supply the lancets AND the control solution WITH the meter since it all goes together! Even if the kit is $20 more at least it would be useful, but this product isn’t without the control solution.

I got this as im diabetic and i have high blood sugars,locally at my drug store. The pharmacist chosen this one and said its a good fit for me as im new to all this. The machine is very small compared to others and excellent to travel with.

I received the monitor sooner than expected. I thought I was getting the monitor and 10 Bayer Strips but was pleased that the kit also included the control solution, lancets, lancing device and a little nylon case.

The kit itself is inexpensive; however, the test strips are more expensive than some others but the accuracy is worth it to me. It is EZ to set up with instructions for every step and several options available.

I am not diabetic but my mother was when she got older so I want to keep track of how various carbs and sugars affect my blood glucose levels. My son did a lot of research and recommended the Contour Next (I got the EZ) which he feels is the most accurate when compared to his actual bloodwork.

I’m glad I started testing because I may be pre-diabetic although I haven’t had bloodwork yet from my Dr to compare but it was close last year. I have adjusted my eating habits including my carbs, sweets, and snacks and see a difference already.

seems to work fine and comparable to other contour next meter but, NO display light on this one. Also just like my other contour next meter, this contour next EZ meter also has an issue with strip having to be pushed a bit hard for it to go into meter (actually why i bought this EZ meter, thought this inserting issue would not be the case with it).

I do NOT like that part at all, strips should go in smoothly without much pressure. One thing i also do not like is how the contour strips ends where blood goes are facing upwards in their vials, makes for us touching ends and possibly contaminating them a possibility…still contour next meters are suppose to be one of the most accurate so i overlook my dislikes and keep using them.

Not a single test strip included! You’re going to have to buy those (from this company) if you don’t want this equipment to be completely useless. I obviously should have read more reviews, but labelling “ready to use out of the box” is pretty misleading.

I’m not experienced with diabetes, so maybe im just the new guy here. But they gave me a diet journal and a fancy little baggy to put everything in. But not one test strip. No review on the product as i cant use it, maybe best thing on the market, who knows.

My diabetic dog was diagnosed 5 months ago. I have 3 glucose meters, and this is the one I use daily. It seems most accurate. The only problem I’ve ever had is that it stopped recording the glucose results in memory.

It does take a bit more blood than Advocate Pet Test Blood Glucose Monitoring System for Dogs/Cats PT-100. Tips from a medical professional: 1) apply a warm pack to dogs ear prior to puncture. (This helps capillaries fill with blood).

2) I use the underside of his ear, near the distal end. Results: my dog’s fructosamine results have been excellent, but I was using a different meter before.

I really am not sure how accurate this monitor is, it is dramatically different from a One Touch I have. I couldn’t afford the strips for the One Touch anymore so I switched. When I say dramatic, I mean even as much as a 100 point difference! My One Touch may read 190 and this one may read 120 or even lower.

It has caused me to second guess until my next A1C appointment. I would compare to be safe!.

This glucometer has a speaker system that is garbled which makes it difficult when you are hard of hearing. You cant turn the voice off. The carrying case is cheap and the meter wont fit in any other cases.

The good part is the blood sugar ranges have been close to my One Touch. I was able to find the strips for a reasonable price.

I have tried several glucose monitors through the years. For the past couple of years, I have used Freestyle Lite and liked it. Small, portable, small sample size, no coding, accurate. Then my insurance company (Blue Cross) decides to cut cost and requires that I switch.

Had the option of two and Aviva had the smaller sample size. After a couple of months, I deeply hate it and would like to force the managers that made the decision to force this product on people to use it for a few weeks.

The Aviva has several issues: First, it is huge. it is twice the volume than many other meters. Second you have to plug a dongle on the side to match the code. Every time it powers up, you must check the number on the test strip bottle.

freestyle meter had no coding, it was automatic and embedded in the test strip. Third, it’s lancing system cannot even puncture enough for the huge blood sample is needed. Not counting how awkward it is to use and it huge size.

Fourth, if you do not provide enough blood, the test strip is wasted. On the first week, I wasted three times the number of test strips that I needed to use. The Freestyle meter allowed me a few seconds extra to add more blood.

However the little sample size rarely needed me to do so Fifth, the meter might make a very inacurate reading even if it did not have enough blood. If too little blood is absorbed by the test strip, an error will show up.

But if it got close to 80% it will make a reading with an extremely high number Sixth, no light. This was a nice feature of the Freestyle. Seventh, due to the large sample size, I end with several holes in my arms and hands trying to lance several times to get enough blood.

In summary, the insurance company now has to pay for more test strips due to the high number of errors. Now I hate testing and tend to skip much more often due to the extra time and hassles to get a reading.

Particularly when I am not certain of its accuracy. Avoid this meter. You are better of with Freestyle, if your insurance company is nice.

The price was very good when I ordered this kit. It was ordered not for the monitor, but instead for the lancing tool that was shown on the package when the order was placed. My wife had the FastClix lancing tool, but broke it.

She loved this tool. The cost for the kit was actually less than the cost of a new replacement lancing tool online. However, when we received the kit, it had another lancing tool in it, which was not the one shown on the box.

In fact, the box of the kit that we received was different than the one in the Walmart advertisement, although the name of the monitor was the same. We kept the monitor and lancing device as backups.

It was not worth the effort to get a refund of the $9. 95 cost for the kit.

I bought this online at walmart. com (site to store) and when I went into store to pick it up and to buy test strips for it, I found out that a small bottle of test strips (at Walmart) are $78!!! The Walmart pharmacist told me that I shouldn’t have purchased the Accu-Chek brand because their supplies are very, very expensive.

He directed me toward the Reli-On brand (on the Walmart shelves), which was priced the same as the Accu-Chek meter. HOWEVER, the test strips for the Reli-On meter were under $9 as opposed to more then $78 for the SAME NUMBER OF STRIPS! Unfortunately, a blood glucose meter is non-returnable (FDA rules).

so my purchase of this product was a complete waste. I’ve already thrown it away. DO NOT BUY THE ACCU-CHEK brand. buy the Reli-On brand instead!!!.

This packaging is deceptive. It shows on the front of the box that there are ketone strips and blood glucose strips in the box. There are no ketone strips in the Box. They must be ordered separately.

NB: This kit does NOT contain any Keto test strips—only glucose strips! You will have to spend an additional $20—more than the cost of the kit—for 10 keto test strips if you want to use the meter to test for ketosis—definitely NOT the bargain I thought I was getting.

The first one of these bought did not register correctly, would show level of 28 and when retook minutes later would show 100. I wrote company, after seeing numerous reviews of this where people were also complaining, same issues too.

So company sent me a new one. Well tonight, this is 1st week been using the new one. it registered 217. retook right away and got 138. This product is not only worthless, it is going to kill someone.

Great value, strips are cheap and uses a miniscule amount of blood. Very fast too less than 5 seconds for a result. Would recommend.

I bought this, as it has been difficult to find the test strips for the Accu-Chek Compact Plus Mete during the pandemic without taking out a bank loan! This newer model meter by Accu’Chek is easy to use and accurate.

The strips only need a tiny amount of blood, compared to the older model. I miss having 51 strips mounted in one drum, but this model is much more affordable.

Very good product, I highly recommended it.. the only detail I was disappointed is that the battery was expired ( dead) not a big deal to get one. Im very happy with it!!!!

I’ve gone through several kinds of meters since my accu-chek mobile was discontinued. This is the first that I believe to be accurate…no small detail in diabetes land.

I am using this for the first time but I think the reading is not reliable. I notice couple of times diabetes reading with this meter/ strip differs from other kit like Accucheck compact plus. I found 114 diabetes reading with this kit and 136 with AccuCheck compact plus.

I would suggest everyone please verify your diabetes with other machine too. Not reliable.

I just got this monitoring system today with 200 strips. I can not figure out how to set the time, date, year. I don’t know which side of the test strip to use. Do I always have to use the solution that comes with the kit? I think I will love it once I learn how to use it but right now I’m just not getting it.

I paid $179 for my last set of 100 Accu-Chek Aviva Test strips. That’s more than ten times what I paid for these Embrace test strips. The Embrace Meter uses AAA batteries and I found no difference in accuracy (I performed several trials).

I couldn’t be more satisfied!.

As one review stated the case for it, is horrible ğŸ¤¦ğŸ »â€ â™€ï¸ but I think my favorite thing about the machine is, if there isn’t enough blood for the sample it allows you to apply more. My old meter made me waste a whole strip and put a new one to test.

The contour isn’t high quality physically but it does it’s job which is absolutely essential for the users. ✨.

I was recently diagnosed with gestational diabetes and was informed I needed to purchase a monitor. Up to this point I have never even seen one in person, let alone used one. I had an appointment with my nurse to go over use instructions, but the monitor came before the appointment, so I decided to try it out on my own first.

The instructions were great. Step by step with pictures. My first try I was able to get it all set up and get a accurate sample. It really was very easy. I took it into my appointment the next day and wowed my nurse with my knowledge! She tested me with her own monitor to insure accurate results, and my results were within 5 points of hers, so she assured me that it was accurate.

She told me to do a control test on each new batch of strips and sent me on my way. I have been using it for about 3 weeks now, testing 4 times a day. I have not had a single problem. I have never needed to use more than one strip per test for any reason, and have yet to run into any errors.
