20 Best Glow In The Dark Paint For Canvas (2023 Updated)

I love working with the pearl metallic paints. They are thick, and easy to work with. The colors are beautiful. Would love another 8 pack with different new colors! I currently have the jewel tones. I was experimenting by painting on a wood gesso board, and the paints absorb well and also maintain their color and shine.

The key is, don’t mix non metallic colors or too much water with these paints. True of all metallic paints. Otherwise they will show up as flat color on your art piece. Enjoy!!.

I had ordered the 10×10 wood panels on January 16, 20221. I opened them on January 20. First, they were shipped in only a white plastic bag with torn holes punctured into it. There was no protection for the boards from dings caused by shipment handling.

Then, when I opened the plastic film and the cardboard around (and not fully surrounding) the stack of boards, I saw that one board was damaged. It had dents in one edge of the side to the open shadow box area.

Since I do need to use them as shadow boxes the damage was in an very inconvenient area. I do not wish to buy and learn how to use wood filler to repair the damage. I wrote a message to them on January 20, and it is now February 16.

I suggested and adjustment as I did not want to go through the trouble of returning and also needed to start using them ASAP. I also suggested that they pack them with more substantial protective packaging.

Arteza has totally ignored my communication.

First, let me say that this is the third time I’m posting my review yest it never seems to get posted on the website. I hope my pits don’t smell or something. and that it’s not a case of cherry-picking only the positives.

After decades of dabbling with oils and watercolors, I decided to give acrylics a try. I gravitate toward the abstract and fluid art has me intrigued. I purchased this set so I would have something properly mixed in order to compare to when mixing my own colors.

Unfortunately, every time I’ve attempted to create a piece, Ive ended up with a big, muddy, dull colored pool of either pinkish or greenish paisley on the canvas. Also, the paint seems unable to form cells as mixed.

After countless hours of research I come to the conclusion that there are two reasons for my tragic outcomes: (1) the paints are mixed too thinly and/or (2) I don’t know what I’m doing. While I mat be new to pouring, I have watched literally hundreds of related videos on the subject on Youtube and read books on the art form.

With this combined with some experimentation, I hardly feel completely ignorant on the topic. Finally, while the 2oz. bottle sizes may be ok for undiluted paint, this size really doesn’t give you much of each color to work with in a diluted form.

Working with a 24 inch square canvas, for example, used up all 3 bottles of the white in one go. Let me also say, my experience with these premixed pouring paints does not reflect my experience with the other undiluted acrylics I purchased from Arteza.

I am very happy with those – especially the metallic color set.

I absolutely love this paint. Everything about it is perfect except one thing. They need to make bigger sizes!! The price for the quality of product is very good. I love their packaging, their colours are magnificent and to think I was never going to try their paints simply because of my own insecurities with using mediums.

I’ve grown since that first opinion, I’m exploring a very wide range of products. I create at least 5 paintings every single day for my permanent location at the local weekend market in London, ON. I buy everything I need from Michael’s because they carry brands like Pebeo and others I love.

My daughters and I used this paint on the mini ceramic pumpkins. It covered them brilliantly, nice and thick so only needed one coat. A lovely autumnal colour with a slight shimmer but not glittery. We have several colours from Pebeo and they’re excellent quality, especially when they are on offer.

I would thoroughly recommend for any ceramic painting.

Whilst in lockdown , Hobbycraft has been a godsend. It was through the texts from them that I took an interest in Acrylic pouring. I have been very busy choosing the colours from the very many that Hobbycraft have in stock.

So much fun in this particular art style as you just don’t know what the outcome will be till you start manipulating the pour. You can make a masterpiece by default. I am sure many people have found new skills whilst being in lockdown.

And Hobbycraft are there to supply the materials. A great store. They offer classes to help you along in your new artistic venture and the staff are very amenable.

I received the Apple Barrel Acrylic Craft Paint in “Orange Sherbert” yesterday. I have used the Apple Barrel brand and the Plaid brand of paints previously, and it appears as though those two brands have now merged.

I noticed that the “Plaid” name was in evidence in several spots on the bottle. In any case, the paint itself is of very good quality. It goes on very smoothly — without any bubbles or thin/watery areas.

There is no need to use expensive/high quality paint brushes, because the paint applied very well with a cheap child’s brush. The color was bright and clean. The color was attractive, and it was pretty close to orange sherbert.

It did have a little off-putting “flesh-color” in it, but I don’t think most people would really notice. I only needed one coat on my wood project — which I really appreciated. Clean up is also very simple — it washes off skin with regular soap and water.

No need to use toxic paint cleansers. It is also non-toxic — a factor very important to me, because I like to do crafts with my young grandchildren. Overall, it is an excellent choice for any craft project.

This is probably the hundredth bottle of Apple Barrel paint I’ve gotten over the years. I’ve used this brand for decades, for quirky craft projects around my house. I am partial to buying really ugly picture frames at yard sales and thrift shops and repainting them to fit into my decor.

Since I plan on repainting my hallway soon, this deep, inky navy is a great color for some new old frames! The name “Night Sky” is great, very descriptive of the actual color. I can imagine the sky this color at 3-4am, when the rest of the world is asleep and it’s just me and the nocturnal creatures roaming the prairies or mountains.

The stars twinkling in this deep, deep navy blue velvet color, everything right with the world. The paint is thick, but not too thick to use with a brush (or your finger, as I did to swatch it). You get good coverage with one coat, but I generally do two, especially with darker colors like this one.

The photo I attached won’t due it justice, but you’ll be able to see that it truly is a deep navy, with some grey and purple undertones to it. There is no sheen to this paint, either, it is very matte, so I may spray on a layer of gloss afterward, just to give it a little shine.

The colors of Jacquard Lumiere paints have different properties. I recommend looking it up on the brand website before choosing. The paint is thick and coats well on various surfaces. You can also dilute it quite a bit and add a sparkly layer to a painting.

It is not particularly good for line work. A flat coat of this paint tends to show brush strokes. It is better for a looser style, or in layers. It is a beautiful range of colors, which are vivid and rich.

Beautiful colours. Superfast delivery as always and a very good price. Have found these paints to be funny compared to my others but I’m sure with a pouring medium gel will help thicken them up, as I use them for dot art.

So need them to be thicker. But do love them and I do all my deliveries from you!.

I am so glad I found this Jacquard paint at walmart. com – i was able to buy online and pick up in store which is fantastic!! Usually this specialty fabric paint is only sold online at sites where you do have to pay shipping which can easily be a higher cost than the item you are purchasing!!! As for the paint, this is hands down THE BEST metallic paint for fabric, and especially leather.

It is really unique – it bonds to the fabric or leather, but doesn’t sink down into it and disappear like some fabric paints I have tried. It really shows up and stays truly metallic!!! It is the perfect consistency for stencils which is how I used it, or doing an all over color wash.

I haven’t tried free-hand painting thin lines, but I think you would need just the right brush for that, or just use markers instead? The colors are gorgeous, and the GOLD is my favorite. I am going to try the silver or champagne next, and I am confident they will be equally as gorgeous!!!.

I have an avid painter among my children, and we go through about a case of paint every two or three months. I like the ease of purchasing by the case and quick delivery from Blick. I trust the washability of Crayola, and the colors don’t mix down to mud.

I wish the yellow were less of a cool tone and the peach less of a gray undertone, but overall these are a good option for washability and mixability. They don’t flake and do well with both straight application and dilution in water washes.

Now, if Crayola would either make a heavier bodied washable paint or make an additive I could stir into these while maintaining washability, I would be over the moon. My child likes to paint with a palate knife, and while he basically dips the knife into his palate colors with no problem, he can’t truly perform the Bob Ross style “cut a little roll of paint” move haha.

The crayons washable tempera paint is a great, nontoxic paint for just about any craft. I love the fact that this paint is washable as it is so easy to clean up. It is nice and thick and has really good coverage.

Obviously, any light color is going to need several coats for optimal coverage of darker colors. My son and I used these three colors and several others to paint small gaming pictures for his room. They were easy to mix to get the perfect color.

We really enjoyed working on this project together. There were so many colors to choose from and the price is very reasonable. Good quality product. You can never go wrong with Crayola!:).

If you teach Kindergarten, you know how excited your students get when you get out the painting supplies. If you’ve used washable paint, then you will absolutely love this paint. It’s all I ever use in my classroom.

I got this 9-piece tempera cakes paint set for my girls to use, as they love painting and doing arts and crafts activities at home. What drew me to these tempera cakes is that their art teacher uses them, and always raves about how easy they are to clean and store, and how the kids love them.

I was never a fan of tempera and other paints that usually stain clothes and that because my girls would bump the table and spill their water cups or the paint trays, leaving a mess for me to clean up.

All they had to do was add a drop of water to the center of the tempera paint cakes and squish their paintbrush around to get the cake wet for use.

As a mom, I love how clean up of these tempera cake sets are a breeze. Again, you can simply let the cakes dry out and then store the tray with tempera cakes in the plastic covered tray it comes with.

Today I had all of the grandkids over and we painted pumpkins for Halloween. Aside from my teen and adult kids that joined in we had 3 children ages 7, 3, and 2 painting pumpkins. That being said we all know how messy toddlers can be with art supplies, so along with putting shirts over their clothes so they did not getting paint on their clothes, I wanted to make sure that we used paints that were both nontoxic and washable.

Prang washable ready to use paint fit both requirements, which is great considering the 2 year old tasted his paintbrush at one point, and the others, including one supposed adult lol, got paint on their hands and decided to put painted hand prints all over everywhere.

Well let me just say WOW, the paint washed off very easily on everyone’s hands, face and arms, and then tonight after I washed the shirts they all wore to paint in I was pleasantly surprised to see that all of the paint on their shirts washed right out.

This is my go-to product when I am lettering or drawing on a shirt by hand (usually for one of my kids haha). I like it because it can be used straight out of the tube or with a synthetic brush (It’s buildable so start off light and add as you need to).

The pigmentation is good enough for I want to do with it but admittedly I rarely use light or pastel colors. The formula is pretty viscous but not so thick you can’t work with it. The variety of colors is pretty awesome and they’ve expanded them in recent years.

My favorite part? The smell doesn’t get on my nerves. Because of my ADHD, I’m more sensitive to smells than most so this is important for me. My now 7YO had a themed shirt for his 5th birthday and wore it til there were holes in the armpits but the paint stayed on! Overall, a great product for my needs.

I purchased the Tulip Slick dimensional Fabric Paint in black to use making ornaments with my children. I am not a crafty person at all so I had no idea what type of paint would work best for what I wanted to make, but this looked like it would do the trick.

It worked so well! I used it to write the kids names and the year on the outside of the plastic ornament and it turned out better than I imagined. The paint has a raised look which makes it pop out against the Christmas colors we put inside the ornament.

I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking to do any similar crafts, or probably any crafts all.

This is a great set of 24 pre-mixed Acrylic pouring paints in traditional colors. I create art as a hobby, and while I had seen others use pouring paints when I was a child, this was my first experience with them.

I like that no mixing in any additives was needed, and that these paint bottles came ready to go. The paint is thin and the colors mix together well on wood surfaces. The end result looked similar to traditional mixed paint art that I have seen for years, and I am happy with it.

Note that these do not make cells like the newer styles you see on social media that add resin and use a hair dryer, these literally just mix together to create nice colorful patterns without cells or much bubbling.

I think this is a great set for beginners, and I am having a lot of fun with these paints.

This rock, paint pouring kit is a great idea, but I felt like the kit lacked a bit. First off, it gives you these little cups to mix the paint in and says to pour paint until half full, then pour on a rock, but there is no way they give you enough paint to do that and actually cover all the rocks.

They really don’t five you enough paint in general to even paint all the rocks, so I was a little disappointed with that. Also, the paint bottles themselves were way too hard to squeeze, especially if your little one is trying to do it, so I had to unscrew the cap to get the paint out.

Also, they supply you with gloves that are meant for a large man. There is no way my little girl could wear those and actually do anything, so they were useless. Other than that, my little one had a fun time with the kit, I just definitely think the kit could be improved a lot to make it work better.

The Hide and Seek Paint Pour Rocks are a great activity for all ages. There are all the supplies you need to do this project, except for paper towels and water. I did this activity with my seven-year-old daughter.

The gloves included where too big for her, and there were a couple inches of free spaces at the tips which made them messy to use, but she kept them on for the entire activity. The included plastic apron covered her shirt, which was great because there was paint all over the center of it, even though I did not notice her getting any on her.

It is easy to get started, you just need to rinse and dry the included rocks. The paints have seals on them, so you need to remove those, all our paint bottles had the seals stuck inside the cap, so I used a toothpick to get them off.

The paint bottles were a bit hard to squeeze, my daughter could not do it on her own, and I had a bit of trouble myself. Once she picked out her colors, I would layer them in the included paper cups and then she would pour them on the rocks.

I loved all the different combinations that could be made and seeing what she could come up with. After she used up all the paint to paint her rocks, I left them on the included table protector until the tops were dries, and then I wiped off the bottoms and transferred to paper towels like the instructions said.

These rocks turned out amazing and it was a great activity for us to do together.

This is the Coolest color ever!!!!! If you paint this over a True blue or a FolkArt Neon Blue, the color you get is so gorgeous. I went back and bought 4 more of this color. Amazing color and has so many options and uses with it.

I used just FolkArt on My Bee hive and will post a picture. I do not have any other pictures on this computer, but this way you can see how gorgeous these paints are. I had not used this brand and it is amazing.

I painted my Bee Boxes with it did amazing on real wood. I did use a primer and I put a clear protective coat on it and this paint still looks as if I just painted the Bee Boxes and they are outside in Washington rainy state.

I then bought many colors and I have been painting wood crates and have used crackle over it and then this paint over the top of the crackle and it is gorgeous. All the colors are true to what they say, blend nice with each other and only need one coat.

I really love this brand. A must for any crafter. Amazing price.

I use these paints regularly for various craft applications and some repairs. They don’t separate during storage and the color choices are numerous. Sometimes I find the exact touch up color I need without having to mix a new batch every time I work on a piece.

If I do have to mix colors, depending on the “mother color” there might be unexpected blend results because there are several pigments added to get the bottled shade. I had that problem with the so called Modular colors in the 70s.

(uh oh- I think I just dated myself) Some colors would became muddy when blended. These handy colors are fairly clean and true. Great choices for very little money.

I used this paint to make the lines for a project on a glass bottle to make it look like Tiffany style stained glass. It worked great. The little tip enabled me to trace the pattern lines. The line of paint was thick enough to look like the leaded joins in real stained glass.

I used silver/gray at first to get the lead color, but black looks better. Dried to touch indoors under a ceiling fan in three hours and left to set overnight for hardness.

This is a lovely Paint to use, easier than any other fabric paint I use before and it has allowed me to make beautiful and unique designs in clothes that my friends and customers absolutely love. I go to Markets with my Creations, I’m an artist and I even draw free hand using the Tulip Slick Dimensional Fabric Paint and it works perfectly.

Golden Acrylics are the best paints have used. AS an oil painter for years I switched when covid began so I could paint at home. I was surprised the strength of the colors. In all aspects they outshined all other acrylics and the color remained strong after drying.

So pleased I tried them.

First time using major body paint. Was recommended this brand from numerous professional cosplayers. Was thoroughly impressed with the quality, the coverage, the ease of use. Paired with the sealant spray and setting powder.

Held up pretty well for a full day of convention. 6-7am paint went on, 8-9pm washed paint off. Contact points started to fade throughout the day. (Underarms, fingers, bangles on my arms, etc. But some of that I attribute to my inexperience.

) Overall extremely happy with the quality. Will recommend and use again.

The Paradise AQ paint pots are really stunning. I’m a livestreamer who hosts body art streams online, and these paints have just blown my mind. The coverage is great, there’s minimal transfer (I would suggest a setting spray regardless, it helps!) and the pigments are SO so vibrant.

Even just the refill size pots are enough to cover my arms, chest, neck, and face with more to spare. It also doesn’t crack after drying on the skin. Love them!.

Great Color, still trying to find the perfect ratio of thinner to use in markers, but for the price, you can’t go wrong, these are great quality paints. As usual, Sunward hobbies are absolutely great, each time I place an order in the morning, I receive a tracking number the same day.

This really helps me out. Thinning for my airbrush. Much better then distilled water. Helps out Tip Dry. Thinning your paint is a must.

Sure, we all go to Michaels for our craft supplies (and great coupon deals). BUT I bet you never thought that MICHAELS could be your go to destination for CAR PAINT REPAIR!!! I saved nearly 350. 00 to have someone buff out and touch up a side rub that took off some paint from a rental car.

Yes, I had insurance but who wants to have that deductible and possible insurance hike. All I did was go in and buy a few blue tones because it is really hard to tell when you go into the store (even with a photo).

I bought three and found one that worked. Now, strangely, I took a small nail file. I rubbed down the edges of the rubbed area, I then took some rubbing compound to smooth out the surface (I have had one bottle for over 7 years and it’s nearly 3/4 full).

Then, I took a basic paintbrush and covered the entire area of the paint, let it set, and then wiped it off after a few minutes (let it dry). Crazy, I forgot to check in a few hours and came out to not be able to find where this scraping occurred! I fixed this for pennies and it honestly looks like new.

Bought this for furniture updating, but my front door was in need of a facelift. Painted over white door thinking it would do ok. It did cover but there are still white streaks showing thru, so I’ll have to do a 2nd coat.

I also used it on my 50+yr old claw foot oak table and ready to do the chairs. I was apprehensive but table top was sanded and accepted white stain, which really looked great against the black base. Only took one coat, so maybe when furniture is dark it makes a difference.

I could have deducted 1 star for not covering white but the door finish may have contributed to the issue. I have since bought more for additional projects. I highly recommend. The price is good and if you get lucky and have a coupon, even better.

I found that many stores that formerly carried this product nolonger carry it. I was happily surprised that Dick Block not only carried it but the price point is terrific. I love the quality of this paint.

Nothing beats the one stroke creamy coverage. The color saturation is fantastic! I’m beyond pleased with the continued quality of this paint. Once dried the surface is very smooth and durable. I have displays painted with this product that were painted over twenty years ago that look like they were painted yesterday.

You do need to work in a very well ventilated area. The smell is very strong but a small price to pay for the beautiful results!!!.

1-Shot Lettering Enamel is the tried and true paint of the former Sign Painting Industry, which is almost defunct due to the rise of computers. I am still painting signs for businesses and other uses; it is my livelihood.

I appreciate TCP Global for stocking as many colors as possible, and preferably in quarts. I will not use any other brand or type of paint for professional reasons.

I find the pigments in these paints rich and saturated. I found these a long time ago and they are the paints I purchase over and over again. I placed in the top 10 in the Kentucky Trout stamp competition early in my career using these paints.

Blockx in my opinion is superior to all other brands of paints. There is only one problem I have,,, I want the old vermillion that you offered years ago. Hahahaha, great color. I use a split primary palette but I add 2 colors and one of them is vermillion (almost gone).

I have been painting for some 10 years now. I have to say that I do get quite annoyed with purchasing paint that does not do what it says it should do. hence my search for a new paint. On viewing all the Oil Paints available and reading the “Reviews” on all items I intend to purchase, I decided on Blockx.

I have just recently purchased the Blockx Test Quality Set of 3 tubes – Titanium White, Ultramarine Blue-Deep and Crimson Lake. Tonight I finished a Landscape painting using only these 3 colours. The numerous shades and colours that I achieved from these 3 tubes of paint was amazing.

The quality of the paint is exceptional and did exactly what I wanted it to do. The colours themselves were so vivid and made the painting jump out of the painting. The coverage of the paint itself, excelled any other that I have used.

and I have used just about everything. I have looked at the range of colours that Blockx manufactures and truly believe that the names that they have given to their colours, are true to the letter. (I am fanatical with my colours and know them very well).

I would urge any one that paints with oils and are not happy with the overall effect that they achieve from what they are currently using, to give “Blockx” a try, and believe me, you will not be sorry.
