The Troxel Spirit has a very uncomfortable “dial” adjustment in the back. It digs into the back of you head, especially with a ponytail. The Intrepid and Rebel have “SureFit™ Pro,” which is sort of a sling that cups your head.

I was skeptical at first, it doesn’t really sound like is should work, but it totally does! At least 10x more comfortable than the dial, and you don’t have to adjust it. It even has a ponytail port where the dial is on the Spirit.

I feel like Troxel should discontinue the dial and use the vastly superior sling in all helmets. This “chin” strap on this helmet is also placed very far back, making it more of a throat strap that chokes you if you get it anywhere close to tight.

Also, I think this is true of all Troxel helmets, but the chin strap is really excessively long. Nobody has that huge of a chin/throat! (Yes, you could cut it, but then you have to seal and possibly sew it.

) I already had a Troxel Rebel I was very happy with, but I wanted the purple color. I’m definitely going to stick with the Rebel, clashing colors or not! (I haven’t tried the Intrepid, but I believe it has the superior Rebel system.

).

This protective helmet is FANTASTIC. I love the idea I can adjust it to fit my head & hair style. Very comfortable, your don’t even realize you have it on, easy to adjust chin strap, I can hear the instructions of my trainer, it is just a great helmet.

I would recommend it to anyone who rides a horse. I also love the color & horse decal, easy to find in a tack room. Watch the video by Troxel, they give you every reason to buy this helmet. Great sale price also.

My daughter wore this helmet once, fell off in a lesson, thankfully, not a serious fall – and the helmet was ineffective. Her instructor would not allow her to get back on the pony with this helmet and instead gave her one of her own helmets of much better quality and told her to keep it ( they are the same size) Dover does not take back helmets and they direct you to the manufacturer who will only replace the helmet at a percentage off the retail price on their website.

Invest in a good helmet. This certainly was a bad choice and this new plastick-y material is just awful and It was my mistake to compromise the cheap price for safety. Never again! It is worth every penny to buy a good helmet!!.

I love these crusader fly masks, started buying two for my draft , liked them So much I bought warmblood size for my Tb/ perch mare and horse size for my Arab/ Fresians. All with the full nose and full ears.

The forelock sticks out the center hole which is a good feature to secure the mask and keeps the forelock out of their eyes. The nose covering is excellent even if a bit long, no problem grazing, eating hay or drinking with it, and the flys which normally congregate on their exposed nose are now on the fly mask.

It’s stays put for overnights. Im a big fan now of the Crusader brand flymask after having numerous brands in my collection! It’s my favorite by far for all my horses, not just the Percheron draft, which was my initial introduction.

Owning a bald faced horse, I take great care to find fly masks that will not only keep him comfortable from the bugs, but prevent the horrible sunburn that he is prone to. Ever since I found the Crusader Mask, I have continued to reorder countless times because I really do love it.

I keep two on hand at all times so that when one gets dirty I can just switch it out with a clean one. My gelding is 15hh and on the smaller side so I do now order a Cob size instead of Horse and it’s the perfect fit.

The Velcro piece keeps the mask super secure so I no longer spend time roaming the fields looking for fly masks lost during roll sessions and the material is heavy duty yet breathable. I’ve also had great success with washing these when they get muddy and they come out looking great.

Was good quality and looked great! I loved the stall that came with it and the Arabian mare, the other horse is not my favorite mold at all because of the non-removable boots and ear cover. The riders had a bit of trouble staying in the saddle, the riders also came like a familiar Brad Lego where the person came all dismembered and you had to build, I had a lot of trouble get the hair on the rider btw.

I love the new IDEA of the riders who can stand up normally and ride the horse but they could definitely use some work on being able to hold the brush, sit on the horse, and being a bit easier to build.

The blanket and halter that cam with the set DID NOT fit the horse it’s supposed go on witch upsets me a bit but it did fit the other horse it came with. The Chestnut mare was VERY shiny and had some scratches on her.

The water jump hot a update and I love it because the old water was a light blue and a cheep sticker but the new one that came with the set was a thick, shiny, holographic, sticker that looked very realistic! I liked the product but Some things (the riders) could use some help.

My daughter loves the horse club line by Schleich. She hasn’t opened this set yet, waiting until her birthday to do so, but mom has peeked inside the box and it looks to be of great quality! She’s going to be thrilled.

And this mama is happy to because it’s a good value for a set that inspires lots of creative play.

This set was a welcomed excitement by my preteen. She enjoyed putting the set together on her own- hours of play afterwards with her siblings all wanting a part.

My daughter loves Schleich’s so much. I love them for getting her creative juices flowing and listening to the stories that she puts on with all her figures!! But the horses she loves the most and I had to get these new horses to add to her herd.

I too ordered this blanket however a 100 gram did not come , only the 300 gram. The color is much darker than shown in the raspberry. I did order the neck rug and it was a 200 gram so I am confused by the description.

I am happy with my purchase because I needed a 300 gram anyway. I called the Shires company and was told they do not sell a 100 gram in the raspberry color so I hope that helped answer your question.

Ordered this as a medium weight turnout for my mare. Blanket I received is 300 grams and doesn’t have a neck. Wondering if anyone else has ordered this and gotten the blanket in the description because I can’t find a shires 100g in raspberry anywhere else 🙁 Also the blanket is MUCH darker in person, not a bright pink at all.

We live in the south where a hood is normally not needed but after having a horse with a medical emergency come home to unusually cold weather after being in a climate controlled stall for a month, we purchased this hood.

It has been great, was easy to modify to fit on his current blankets and sheets even though their hood attachments were slightly different, and it stays on when he rolls and doesn’t interfere with any of his activities.

Looks like new two weeks later after being worn for approx. 14 hours a day.

Fit is great. Keeps my horses warm in bad weather. They?re the typical horses; have a barn to get into, but insist on standing outside in the wind and sleet, snow, cold rain, etc. So, as use humans do, we feel bad and insist they be covered by something.

This does the trick. My girls love their blankets to be honest. They seem to know now when I bring them out, as they come to the gate as if I have their feed or something! They are easy to adjust, easy to hook up and I?ve never had one come undone, even after a weeks worth of wear.

I do remove during the week to check for debris and such, but still don?t find any latches unhooked in the meantime. Even with one being a master at nibbling and untying things, even she seems to not be able to undo them.

We are in Northeastern Kansas so it can get fairly bitter in the winter, especially if the winds pick up, and even my thin skinned and short winter coated TB manages well with this one.

I ordered 2 of these blankets for my senior Andalusian mares, one of which is underweight and we live in Minnesota. I was impressed when they arrived at how nice they are. They fit great, no rubbing, and were pretty easy to put on except for the buckle situation.

The buckles on the “belly straps” are a strange hook type contraption which was hard to buckle up and also hard to unbuckle. Also unfortunately one of the belly straps has already ripped off when my horse rubbed up against the gate and it got caught.

I guess that is the safest thing but it would be nice if it was some sort of a quick release type of buckle. Anyway one of the blankets is wrecked after just 3 days and doesn’t seem repairable but I am hopeful that the other one will last through the winter.

For my next blanket purchase I will definitely look at the buckles first.

First, I have a miniature horse-child that is incredibly spoiled. The last time I bought her a new coat, I thought I had bought her one of the nicer ones. I looked long and hard and finally chose this one because it checked all the boxes and more.

I could not be happier!! It seems incredibly comfortable for her compared to her old one. SO many adjustment areas and gussets that you can make it fit like a custom-made coat! It has so many more connections than her old one but I think that’s the reason it fits so perfectly.

The front buckles make it easy on/off and she appreciates it so much more than the last one that had to go over her head. Love the fact that it comes up a bit on her neck to keep her warmer. And so cute — she’s STYLIN’!! The only thing better would be her own bedroom in the house.

These long hoofpicks with brushes and indentations for fingers are ALL made by people who do not use them: The indentations for fingers are on the wrong side of the pick! For people who actually do clean horses feet, we all realize once we go to use this pick that it is backwards — I am frankly amazed I don’t see more of this comment in other reviews.

So it’s very annoying. It would be better to have no indentations than to have them wrong. And I think all these extra long, hoofpick/brush combos with indentations are made by the same company and marketed by different vendors.

All I’ve seen so far thave the same issue. That said. the shape of the metal pick itself is a great one, narrow/pointed enough to start to dig out impacted material or rocks, and wide enough to be effective with minimal effort.

But for me, the failed design makes this NOT SATISFACTORY. I prefer to buy a slightly shorter pick/brush combo with no indentations than to start to use a comfortable-looking pick that promises something it doesn’t deliver.

My two cents.

Durable handle with a pre-drilled hole for a lanyard. The metal pick doesn’t bend under substantial force and it looks and feels to be molded securely into the handle. The pick is pointed enough to get into crevices but not too pointy/sharp as to worry about cutting/poking through pockets.

The brush has nice stiff bristles for removing debris. Actually using these as boot/wader cleaning brushes to help prevent the spread of invasive species though they would work well on our horses too!.

The bristles on these things will deform over time, but I only use it when im cleaning a good bit of mud off the wall/frog or getting ready to put polish on. Using it every time will wear it out after about 5 years.

My last one lasted 12yrs by only using brush when necessary. Its the same great quality that you find in high dollar tack shops, but without paying $7. The only thing is that these kinds dont have a thick pick part, so it may bend a little if u are prying out a big rock.

Just press against the ground to fix it back, or get one of the screw driver end picks to use for big rocks. Love this thing!.

I absolutley LOVE this cooler overall. It’s a little tricky to figure out how to put on at first but once it’s on it does a GREAT job cooling down my horse. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars vs 5 is because if my horse pees while wearing it the belly band gets soaked with urine and I have to wash it.

At first I thought it happened because the belly portion was too loose and then I thought that maybe he didn’t drop when he peed but then I realized that the belly band itself comes too far back and I really have to pull the whole cooler a bit more forward than normal and really make sure the back strap is tight.

He is a 15. 1 hand quarter horse gelding and I got him the size medium. I wish they had a cut out near the sheath area so this wasn’t an issue. Other than that, I love it!.

I had friend rave about this cooler, and since I live in Montana and don’t want to clip my horses, I decided to give it a try. I’ve only had this cooler for a couple weeks, but it’s been very impressive so far.

This cooler covers the entire horse and does a great job wicking sweat. It’s not super easy to get on like regular coolers (because of the belly and chest sections), but with time it’s becoming easier.

I LOVE how it covers all the zones – neck, chest and belly – that others don’t. I have a 17. 1 TB and got the Large and it fits well. Can’t speak to how it will hold up over time, but it will be a staple for me in the winter.

I’d like to rate 5 stars. but waiting to see how it holds up.

I love the CONCEPT of this blanket because I always have a hard time drying my horses chest and belly after a cold, winter ride. It is a bit awkward to put on, although that gets somewhat easier with practice.

My concern is the plastic buckles!? They dangle around my horses feet while arranging the various parts of the blanket. I foresee she will soon step on them and break the buckles. Then I supposed I’ll need to rig some way to tie or hook the panels into place.

I’ve used this product for over 40 years. It conditions the leather and is easy to work with. It also saves time because it’s an all in one product. I’m a bit disappointed that it no longer comes in the larger container.

I have 5 saddles 2 sets of harness and multiple halters and bridles. Now I have to order several small containers which takes up more space as well.

We have a leather couch that was given to us. It is a little bit older and wasn’t maintained with conditioner at all through its lifetime. This conditioner brought it back to life in just a few uses.

It does not repair cracking, but moisturizes the leather very well. I recently used it in my husbands Leather truck bed cover That is so dried it was cracking. It made the truck look so much nicer, and will give us a little more life out of the cover! I would definitely suggest this product.

It’s about as effective as 2-in-1 shampoo. I have used exactly three tubs of this in my lifetime, and each time I have been slightly disappointed. It is really easy to get a white residue on your leather.

I hate wearing gloves, and it takes a while to get the greasy lanolin feeling off of your hands. That being said, it has always done the job of conditioning my tack.

I have literally ordered and returned 3 skrim sheets prior to this one. The other Amigo horseware one isn’t even navy, it’s more of a royal blue, and the weatherbeeta I tried made my horse look like she was in a basketball jersey.

Anyway, the price on this one is great, looks to be durable and fits my girl. She is normally a 81 but I ordered a 78 which fits per perfectly! Cannot what to use it at a show! Comfort: 5 Durability: 5.

I noticed a lot of the reviews are on Manna Pro’s Flax (maybe they’ll take them down once more reviews for Cool Calories is written). It smells like fruit punch bubblegum, but it is tasteless. My horse is so picky and I knew I would have a problem.

My trick was to sprinkle some powder over a collection of his favorite treats and leave it out for him. He eventually ate it and realized it did not affect the taste of his treats. Now I am slowly introducing it to his feed one pinch at a time.

He is muscular and already gets 4 pounds of feed twice a day with alfalfa, but I need him to get a little fatter. Its August and it will take a month to introduce him to the full amount I want to feed him, then I will let Cool Calories do its magic all Fall so he is ready this Winter.

It definitely worked to help my skinny, hard-keeper TB gain weight and she ate it right up! My horse is in light work while she gains muscle and condition. So with the Cool Calories, her grain, and pasture, she’s getting a lot of calories in, but not many calories out.

Since starting the Cool Calories, she has definitely been spicier/hotter/spookier than she was before. I don’t think this supplement is making her “hot,” but I do think the amount of energy she’s taking in vs.

what she’s expending is out of balance. My vet recommended a high-fat feed supplement that’s bulkier and can replace some of her grain, so we’re going to try her on that instead of the Cool Calories.

Overall, this product does exactly what it’s supposed to do and the SmartPaks are very convenient! But always worth consulting with your vet to see what’s right for your individual horse :).

Pretty nice blanket at a good cost. For arabians 75 is a good size. I bot 78 for my 16hh Arabian and its a bit big. 75 is good for a 15. 3hh and 72 is good for 14. 3hh or 15hh. Stays on well. None have wiggled them off ever.

This is advertised as detachable neck, but when you read further in the description of this blanket it is a combo neck. I received it and it is indeed a combo neck that doesn’t detach. For the price it is a nice blanket, the only thing I would say that is missing is reflective trim.

My horses absolutely love these licks. We provide them as boredom busters for the winter and they go crazy over them. The only downside is the bucket itself is cumbersome when it gets low. They knock it off the wall trying to get the last bit, put their hoof in it, etc.
