We have a garage that was built in the 1960s. It was designed as boat storage and sometimes cars. The garage is attached to the house. We use this space as an office, converted, and the other as shelving, fridge, laundry and pantry space.
It gets cold and hot out there seasonally. The insulation took a bit to cut and paste to our vintage garage. We ran out of tape that was provided and had to make a run to the hardware store for double stick foam tape.
Otherwise it was easy. It took a couple hours to cut it out for each panel, tedious, but not hard. So happy to be a bit cozier and more sound proofed in this private space.
As far as bubble wrap quality goes this stuff is top of the line. As far as insulation qualities, theres alot to be desired. Installation wasn’t too bad however the panels didn’t fit my door precisely like they make it sound, some i had to cut in 1/2 & then trim even a little bit more.
The double stick foam tape included to mount the panels is insufficient and not nearly enough is included. After about a week panels started to sag, hang, and inevitably fall off completely. Don’t waste your money on this GLORIFIED BUBBLE WRAP, go w/ the thicker styrofoam panels, price is much more and you get a better suited material for the application.
I work assisting my very talented colleague from Trinity lifts and this tool has been very very helpful when you’re in the lift shaft you don’t want to carry lots of tools around you your trousers end up being so heavily otherwise and this just works so well.
Yes sometimes it has its limitations in certain areas but it’s not one of those tools that just sits and never gets used it gets used quite a bit because you got four in one and when you’re working on taking out bits and pieces for an upgrade its perfect.

Purchased to wrap our main heating duct. Noticeable improvement in the efficiency of our heating system. It was somewhat awkward work to apply and tape into position, but this was a retrofit, so it was not unexpected.
My miscalculations of garage width was a blessing in disguise. Ordered one more to complete and will us the remaining on another part of my house. Sturdy, easy to work with and should add 5-9 nore R-value of comfort.
winter and summer. Quality and price point id outstanding as well!.
This foil-backed fiberglass is a simple and effective way to insulate pipes of all diameters. Easy to use, this fiberglass willᅡᅠinsulate pipes in exposed areas, and it prevents pipes from sweating. Also ideal for over-wrapping Electric Heat Cable Kits used to prevent water pipe freezing.
This is an excellent way to cover your pipes and prevent them from freezing. We tend to have an issue with the pipes in our basement getting very cold in the winter living in the Northeast. This pipe wrap insulation works easily to cover the pipes and keep them from losing heat.
Would recommend. I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review.

I used it to darken out the light in my rv for working night shift. I just cut the length only and it slid perfectly behind the shades. I could have taped around the edges if I wanted complete darkness.
Just a couple of places I could still see light. Bonus is the insulation. Which at first I was just looking for something to easily block out the light. I took a quick pic and didn’t clean up. Lol.
Made from 100% recycled denim. This multipurpose insulation is natural and completely nonirritating. Effective uses include insulation, cushioning, and noise dampening. This easy-to-use insulation can be cut or torn to fit pipes and ducts, walls in between joists, etc.
Mold-resistant, mildew-resistant, fire-resistant. No warning or precautions necessary; can be handled/installed with no need for gloves, goggles, masks. Plus it is earth friendly because it is 100% recyclable.
We needed to replace fibeglass insulation in the garage. We bought a couple roles of denim insulation because it doesn’t itch to put it in. From what we read, denim insulation has a R value is pretty close to fibreglass and is slightly more expensive, but it doesn’t release harmful chemicals like formaldahyde.
According to the package, it’s treated for mold and fungi resistance and is fire resistant.
SilveRboard Acoustic Rigid Foam Insulation is a high performance flat-sheet insulation material made from Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) which is coated with a layer of reflective film laminated on both sides.

This product is great for situations where insulation for heat or to dampen ambient noise is desired. Even better is that it can be laid over existing drywall, including ceilings. We’ve installed it in our bedroom to dampen ambient noise from units above our Condo and we’re pleased with the results.
If memory serves, I did a 13X10 room in about 4 hours or so, by myself on a ladder. The tiles are so light that I was able to easily hold them overhead with just one hand as I screwed them down to the ceiling with the other.
I also used and recommend an adhesive as well (I used Liquid Nails and a caulking gun), as that helps ensure the whole tile sticks to the ceiling, as did duct taping the seams. Cutting these was simple.
Score it deeply with a Utility Knife and bend the surplus back, slice the foil on the reverse and it easily separates.
It’s good. I installed it on my garage doors after reading online reviews that it makes the garage not loose heat and does not let’s cold creep in. I definitely see that the panels are warmer than the hinges.
Earlier entire door was cold now only the hinges are cold. So I would say 85 percent of the door is blocking the cold out to a larger extent. Which is substantially good. I can put the bubble wrap insulation on hinges and panel liners, but just a little lazy and so far it’s not making the bottles freeze in the garage.
M in Brampton west, Ontario. I like the product, it was easy to cut with regular cutter or a knife. I used the regular cutter & was able to snug fit in the door panels. No need of glue. Yes I recommend it as a nice cheap alternative to replace a garage door just for insulation.
Rubber garage door bottom that stops cold air, dust, leaves and moisture from blowing under your garage door. It will also extend the life of your door by providing a shock-absorbing cushion when it is closed.
The special design helps keep water away from your door. Stays flexible from -40 to 140 degrees F for tight seal. 1 inch wide.
I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. My father ran into my garage door accidentally a couple months ago. Since then we’re somewhat beat out the dent, but it has still left a slight gap at the bottom of the garage door where it meets the ground.
This seemed like the perfect solution to close that gap. I don’t know if it’s a normal thing for garages to have a gap there, but this product will help regardless of the condition of your garage. It was super simple to install, and only took my husband a few minutes.
It seems like sturdy material that should hold up no matter what conditions we (especially my father) continue to put our garage through.
I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. I found that it was easier to replace the seal a little at a time rather than completely removing the existing seal. There are no guides for fasteners so you have to just eyeball where to put them.
Thanks he quality of the rubber seemed good and was still flexible to shape quite easily.
Keep the cold and draft air out with this Owens Corning Garage Door Insulation Kit. It’s simple to install so you can start enjoying the benefits right away. This R-8 garage door insulation kit closes up one of the areas through which cold air commonly enters a home.
It’s cut into strips that are designed to fit into the panel sections of most garage doors. Besides increasing energy efficiency, this product also reduces noise levels significantly.
Read lots of reviews and a friend recommended this. I have a 16 panel garage door and it took me 2hrs, 2 kits plus 1. 5 rolls of white Gorilla tape. I like it and can tell the heat is less and the garage is much quieter going up & down (it is also slower).
I will comment that you should plan on having a garage door professional assess and tighten your springs but once this is done, you should be done – this cost me an additional $100. I highly recommend taping the edges with Gorilla tape or something strong; the included buttons help but are not sufficient.
Also, clean any surface with alcohol or degreaser (e. g. simple green) before applying adhesive stickers or Gorilla tape. Another tip is to measure each panels width and height then add 2″ and also use a sharpie and write these measurements directly on the garage for reference.
I will try to update after I’ve used it for a while but like it so far and so does the wife.
I’m giving it 2 stars (for now). I’m a 52 year old handy-woman, After watching the You Tube tutorial (HIGHLY RECOMMEND you do this FIRST) It was very easy to install by myself. OK, HERE IS MY CONCERN: These added a lot of weight to my door.
To test this: A garage door spring is meant to be a perfect counterbalance to the weight of your door. You should be able to pick the door up with a single finger and stop it an any point along the track and let it hang there.
Many garage doors aren’t adjusted properly to begin with. Have a reliable garage door company test this if you think your door is not calibrated correctly. I know there are more lightweight panels out there.
I HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU BUY LIGHTER DOOR PANELS!!! I CAN barely lift my garage door now. To test this I unlocked the latch and lifted it by hand. VERY HEAVY now. I would return these if I could. Now I need to spend MORE MONEY to have a professional come out and re adjust my springs.
Also, After 3 days I’m already noticing the panels “droop” out of the door.

Just purchased this to block some heat on a wall full of windows that faces west in the hot QLD sun AKA my office. It’s made at least a 5c difference in temperature and has cut a lot of the radiant heat.
I’d say it’s great bang for buck. I was looking at other solutions that cost in the hundreds of dollars. As renters, we don’t have the option to air condition the room at this point, so it’s a great way to cut the heat in a room I spend most of the day in.
Self-Adhesive brush pile tape from Stormguard Your house or commercial property will lose heat during cold weather partly due to poor thermal insulation, but also due to the air-leakiness of the building.
This warm air loss is technically known as infiltration or permeability and is measured in metres cubed per hour per square metre of floor area. A typical building built 1900 to 1990 will lose around 20-30 metres cubed of air per hour per square meter of floor area.
This is due to natural leakage through the fabric of the building, but largely through gaps around windows and doors. Good use of draft proofing could reduce your air permeability to around 8-10 metres cubed per hour which is a good low-cost way of reducing you heating bills.
The amount of air infiltration to your property will also depend on its exposure to wind so if you are on a hillside or near the coast then it is even more beneficial for you have good draught proofing.
Product Specification Used as an effective draught proofing and weather seal for gaps of 5 to 15 mm 7 m roll, enough for one single garage door Suitable for use with up and over or hinged doors Four-year manufacturers guarantee.
I’ve only just fitted some of this to our front door through which sunlight could be seen beaming. The adhesive seems to be very strong and it certainly blocks the gap. Due to the arrangement of our door and frame I have fitted it to the edge of the door.
It makes the door slightly hard to close but it is easing over time. It is early days yet but I have high hopes that this will reduce our heat loss massively.
I fitted this on my up and over garage door which used to have massive gaps around it allowing the wind to howl through. Because the door is opened and closed a lot I used some superglue at the end of each run.
It’s been on for a few weeks now and I wish I had done it when I moved into the house. I must have saved the cost of the brush on heating already. (I have an internal door in the house which was always drafty).
Seal is very difficult to straighten on ends as it is so tightly wound, it will not stop peeling up and ultimately falling off. Would I buy again. possibly but would wrap in opposite way for a few months to straighten, or cut off about 300mm from each end, which is waste.
Garage door bottom weatherstripping aluminum & rubber universal length 9 feet finish=black Low temperature seal closes gaps up to 3/4 inches at bottom of garage door to seal out air, moisture and dust.

I bought this weatherstrip to replace the worn one on my garage door. I like that it’s an aluminium rail, the one I replaced was plastic and brittle. The supplied screws were way too short for my door but had some 1-1/4 metal screws already which were perfect length.
it’s still cool that they gave screws with the rail. Installing the weatherstrip in the rail was the “hard” part since I did it on my own which required many back and forth to feed it in and pull it through; if you have someone to assist in the process it should be a breeze.
I just installed this on the weekend. The install was super simple (not sure what others are talking about), other than one thing. This (and all like it it seems) assumes the bottom of your garage door is flat and will accept the aluminum rail.
My door is not flat, and it has a lip on one side. I shimed it up with wood then screwed the plate into the newly flattened door bottom, but I had to figure that out on my own. The comments about not being able to get the seal in because of the track in the way are just not thinking about it.
Just adjust the door so its in a position you can reach it through the side. Overall pretty easy to install.
installation wasn’t too hard, the included screws are hex head instead of philips or robertson, this makes installation harder because you are installing the screws upside down. The track is not predrilled which is good so you can customize where your screws need to go, There is a center groove to aid.
My main complaint is also the packaging, the seal should be rolled up instead of folded which deforms the profile and makes is harder to install. Also the seal is vinyl, not EPDM rubber like the better seals available.
When this seal wears out i will be replacing it the Bowsen U+O EDPM rubber seal.
The conclusion of garage door insulation for hot climates is that it is a great way to keep your garage cooler in the summer. By insulating your garage door, you will block out the heat from the sun and keep your garage cooler.
