20 Best Gaming Keyboards Under 30 (2023 Updated)

I feel like I hit the Jackpot with this keyboard. Its so hard to find white components for PC’s that are high Quality. The Razer Huntsman Mini carries the brand’s standout optical mechanical switch keyboard.

With each key’s light feel accompanied by premium double shot PBT keycaps, it can be great for both gaming and typing. I will have to advise against installing the Razer software. You can simply activate gaming mode by pressing function key +U.

The Razer software has A few bugs that need to be straitened out before I will attempt to re-install. A lot of people compare this to the Ducky 2 MINI, Since I snagged this from Best Buy for half the price of the Ducky 2 mini and this being an all white keyboard vs the blue enter Key on the ducky II I figured this decision was A no-Brainer.

Even if the ducky II mini did not have the blue key I would of went with Razer regardless. Using Razer mechanical keyboards at work and at home with clicky optical keys keys is perfect with me. I feel that Razer keyboards have build quality that are built to last If you feel the need for that.

15 MS faster response time to compensate for your slow reaction time when playing Apex or War Zone then by all means get the linear switch version. I find this keyboard to be more then enough for my needs.

Even after 2 weeks I am able to navigate fine when writing code without having the standard arrow key’s.

Outstanding keyboard for the $85 sale price I purchased it at. I likely would have purchased a different board instead if this was full price ($130). I’m also really happy that I purchased this 60% board instead of Corsairs, mostly because the arrow keys on the Corsair board are too far from the function key, and the switches on this board feel better.

Pros: – The 60% form factor is great for both saving desk space and freeing up space for your mouse in shooters. – The PBT keycaps feel great. – The RGB is subtle and sufficient. – The Razer optical red switches are so far my favorite mechanical switches.

(I’ve previously tried Cherry reds, silent reds, silvers, browns, blues, and Corsair OPX). Additional pros: – The red switches have a bit of resistance before you press, so accidental presses are less common than on other linear switches.

– The keys are significantly quieter than all other mechanical switches I’ve used, including the silent reds. Additionally, there’s enough room in the keyboard that you can open it up and install a layer of foam to further dampen the sound of the keyboard.

– There’s no noticeable latency. (rtings claims that this keyboard has less than 4ms input latency) – The detachable USB-C cable is nice. – The placement of the secondary function keys is fairly good.

After a few weeks of practice and learning, there’s basically nothing that I’d need a bigger keyboard for. It’s now second nature for me to use the function key to access the arrow keys. Cons: – The “feet” to raise the keyboard are borderline useless because of how badly the keyboard slides around the desk when they’re down.

It would have been better to just not include incline options with this keyboard than to provide feet that are that bad. The keyboard is otherwise stable when flat. – No on-board memory for saving profiles for use between computers.

– The pre-programmed secondary functions cannot be reprogrammed, period. Not on the keyboard itself, and not in Razer’s software. – No included wrist rest. I recommend budgeting for one when buying this board.

– Razer Synapse software for the keyboard is not good. It chews through a good amount of CPU resources, and it updates sufficiently frequently to make using it truly obnoxious. I highly recommend never using the Synapse software to control fancy lighting effects.

Your CPU will heat up more when the machine should otherwise be mostly idle, and it can lead to frame drops in games. I only boot Synapse up to change the sensitivity on my Razer mouse, then promptly shut it down.

– And one really minor gripe. the keys *slightly* rattle a bit when pressed. Other than that they actually sound pretty good.

As a senior software developer, I spend nearly all my time using a keyboard – working, gaming, chatting, etc. I’ve gone down the rabbit hole and have dozens of keyboards – split, joined, ortholinear, chording.

You name it, I’ve tried it. I tried another brand’s “Red Linear” and it was awful for both the feel of the keys and the ringing noise after each press. If you’re serious about a soft touch and a good ‘warm’ keypress sound, The Huntsman Mini is in a whole new league and is highly recommended.

Perhaps it’s the optical switches, or just the build quality of the back board, but it feels fantastic. Of course, this is a 60%, so if arrow keys are important than avoid the mini, but if navigation shortcuts don’t phase you and you want a compact, full featured keyboard then look no further.

Typing speed out of the box was easily 70wpm for me with minimal errors and mis-strokes. The sensitivity seems to be dialed in perfectly. With a bit more practice on this board 100wpm+ feels easily attainable.

This is a worthy keyboard – especially for the price. Signing off, Keyboardiophile.

I’ve had the keyboard for a few months now and I can honestly say it is one of the better feeling keyboards I’ve owned. The materials/build quality are great, and despite them not using more mainstream switches, Logitech’s own switches still feel nice.

Battery life has also been very good. However, there are a few drawbacks which prevent me from saying it is a five-star product. Firstly, the software experience leaves much to be desired. While it isn’t as resource heavy and prone to crashing as other companies peripheral software, it could use some much needed redesigning.

I am of the belief that the consumer shouldn’t have to Google or go to YouTube to find out how to operate software for a keyboard, and I had to do that multiple times to find out how to change lighting effects, changing lighting profiles, etc.

While it wasn’t a horrible experience in the end, it could definitely use some refinement to be more user friendly. Which brings me to my second issue with the keyboard. It uses Micro-USB instead of USB C.

At first glance, this may not seem like a big deal, but if you are trying to market this as a premium product, you probably should use modern standards for charging/data transfer. I honestly can’t remember the last time I used microUSB, and it was genuinely shocking to me that Logitech would use it instead of USB-C given the market that this keyboard is designed for.

Instead of me being able to use my phones charger or any other device that uses USB-C, I have to make sure to keep this Micro-USB cable around and it just seems both wasteful in a way, and cheap. This is made worse by the fact that other Logitech’s premium peripheral’s like their lightspeed mouse, also uses Micro-USB instead of USB-C.

Lastly, the special characters and keys that have multiple functions (like brackets, hashtags, etc) while backlit for their major function, are not backlit for their secondary function. The backlighting is nice, but not complete for some of the keys.

I would semi-frequently find myself looking for the ampersand or dollar sign keys, but because they aren’t backlight like their primary function is, it can mean looking down and squinting to find where they are.

All-in-all what I’ll say is this, Logitech continues to make good quality products and I’m happy with my purchase, but in the future, dump Micro-USB. It’s a dead connection type. Apply the backlighting effect to the full key and put a little more work into the user experience for the keyboard’s software.

Let me start off the review by saying this – I hate wires and I will pay more to avoid them! I also use this for work and gaming. That means I want a product that can game at a high level, be a great office keyboard that allows me to type and take phone calls at the same time and have a GREAT battery life so I don’t have to plug it in (again I hate cables).

Gaming – The lightspeed USB plug-in for this must be magical because I game on this competitively with ZERO lag or latency. The keys also have heald up to constant typing and the lighting doesn’t fade with use as well.

Generally – if you like the click and travel then this is a great solution because it has heald up for two years almost now with zero issues. RGB/SOftware – The Keyboard does have RGB on it and while it isn’t Corsair blow your socks off level since it is wireless – it is nice, bright, and responsive! It doesn’t currently sync with other software however you can sync all your Logitech products together and then match the color to your other software relatively easily.

The Logitech software is also REALLY good with all your battery % displayed and every setting you could imagine adjustable for your product. Office – I work from home, which means I take calls and meetings and need to be able to type and type fast without everyone knowing I am typing away.

This keyboard has the perfect “click” to be satisfying while also being quiet enough that it doesn’t sound like a typewriter. The key travel is also in my opinion perfect. It doesn’t have huge keys with seeming feet of travel with a loud click at the end.

I can easily get my 80-90wpm out and keep moving without anyone noticing. Build Quality/battery – this keyboard is SOLID. It has no deck flex or any sort of low-quality buttons or switches. The battery started to die on me at a year and 6 months but was able to RMA it with ease with the help of BestBuy at my side.

The keys don’t wear and everything still works great with constant use day in and out so at the price point it is at ~200-250 depending on the sale I would buy it every single time. Conclusion- While $200 for a keyboard is a steep price, this is one I can vouch for as it holds up and does everything it says it will to an astounding degree of quality and accuracy.

Logitech kills it again with the BEST wireless peripherals on the market.

tl;dr you don’t have to fully press the keys down to get them to register which is a huge problem for the price point, the keycaps are ABS not double-shot PBT, the software included is hit or miss, and the G keys are also hit or miss depending on if you take full advantage of the software please read the full review! let me get the negative out of the way before I get into the positive.

1. Initial impressions? after about 10 days of use I’ve noticed when I’m playing games or typing on the internet I don’t have to fully press down on the keys to get said key to register. I notice it more when I’m typing and it seems like it happens with keys that get used frequently.

“W, Backspace, Return, Spacebar. ” I can press down on the sides of the keycap and it will register as a full compression which is NOT a good look for a $250 price point. Mind you I don’t do this on purpose, I’ll be getting ready to delete something via backspace and put the SLIGHTEST amount of pressure and it will register as a press.

Nothing close to a full compression. 2. another big problem I have with Logitech specifically is they don’t give you an in depth manual for ANY OF THE FRIGGIN PRODUCTS YOU BUY. You know what comes with these devices you’re paying anywhere from $150 – $250? a very straightforward quickstart guide, a paper talking about the battery, and a packet talking about the safety instructions/warranty in 4 different languages!! You’re telling me I’m paying over $100 for both a mouse and a keyboard and the closest thing to a manual you’re gonna give me is G HUB.

At least there’s a manual for G HUB right? *on the internet* 3. a pet peeve that’s started to grow as I use this more and more is the keycaps are ABS and not double shot PBT which is INCREDIBLY disappointing especially when you consider the money you’re dishing out on this thing.

What does that mean? ABS keycaps are fingerprint magnets and they don’t tend to wear well. If you’re greasy/oily or you’re hands sweat while gaming I’d stay away. PBT keycaps? Better material and wears very well.

Sure I could go and spend more money and get a few PBT keycaps for WASD, SHIFT, and a few others, but I’m spending more money on a $250 premium keyboard that didn’t come with double-shot PBT keycaps.

also you must beware if you go to take this thing apart to clean it, the keycap clips are VERY fragile and very well may break when you try snapping them back into the switch. MIDDLE GROUND: G HUB is the software that comes with all the newer Logitech peripherals and it’s honestly a blessing and a curse.

The sky is the limit with G HUB. you can make macros that do a number of different things, change the RGB/ style to anything you want/ configure the G keys to certain things, and there’s on board memory.

This is very nifty, but G HUB is the most in depth and confusing software I have ever used. Razer Synapse was way more simple. Not to mention to use the G keys you have to go into the software everytime you turn on your PC, click you’re keyboard and activate G shift just so those 5 keys can be taken advantage of IF you have them binded to something.

I’m using 1 and 2 for DPI and it gets very annoying to have to open the software, turn on G shift and then be able to adjust my dpi via two buttons on my board. Furthermore G HUB doesn’t notify you everytime your mouse changes DPI, only when it initially turns on.

It very well could be that I’m 100% using the software wrong and all of the fixes to my issues as far as G HUB goes are right in front of my face and I’m just to foolish to see it, but it is a very complicated software.

Finally to the positives! you wont be charging the battery on this baby every other week this thing is rated for 137 hours with RGB on, it feels like I’m playing with a wired keyboard besides the double occasional double clicks.

What really drew my to this keyboard in the first place was the 2. 4GHz connection via USB dongle. It seems tough to find good keyboards that use 2. 4GHz connection via dongle. It’s also BT if that’s your thing.

It has adjustable feet with two different sizes which you don’t see very often another nice touch. I really enjoy the media control keys and I really want to enjoy my G keys but I just don’t understand G HUB enough to be able to take advantage of those currently.

Final thoughts: I’ve seen a few people say they don’t recommend this keyboard and maybe I understand why? I’m not getting the full use out of the G keys Like I wish I was because the software is crazy, the switches actuation level is very sensitive, and the keycaps suck.

I’m sure there are other reasons people don’t recommend it, but for the price and the reasons I’ve listed I can’t say I’d recommend it to someone in the market for a wireless keeb. There has got to be better keebs out there that are wireless and use a 2.

4GHz dongle.

The Logitech G Pro X headset is solidly constructed and well built. This headset is sleek and beautiful, and I appreciate the fact that it is mostly made of metal and has a premium look and sturdy feel to it.

When I first plugged this headset into my gaming laptop, right out-of-the-box the sound quality was pure bliss – and this was without changing anything in the default settings. I didn’t wanna take the headphones off! However, using the Logitech G–Hub application, a plethora of settings can be adjusted and tailored to fit your needs and liking.

There are separate settings for microphone and headphone, and it is highly advisable to save your settings after you’ve experimenting with all of the adjustments because it is easy to ‘lose’ your preferences (as I found out the hard way).

Anyway, you will need to download the software from Logitech’s website to use this feature. The clarity of the microphone was amazing. While placing a couple of calls on my cellphone, my friend said the voice quality was excellent and crystal-clear.

It was even said that my voice sounded louder and better than regular calls made without the headset. The music playback sounded very good and varied between genre styles. I was especially impressed by my collection of Classic Rock and Old-school Funk, Soul, & R&B.

The quality ranged from high to near stadium-like performances – complete with crisp highs and head-bobbing bass lows. All of this is subjective of course, and much of this is owed to tweaking the sounds with the numerous EQ customization settings.

I must also admit that the stock settings were just perfect to begin with and probably sounded better. Throughout my listing experience I realized that they were sounds and effects that I was hearing that wasn’t noticeable while listening to my speaker system.

And this included both music and in-game sounds as well. The deep bass sound really brought out the intensity of the explosions during my gameplay, and the gun shots sounded unbelievably real. Things that I wouldn’t normally pay much attention to, such as the sound of car doors opening and closing and the humming noise of engines, are now very apparent.

I’m not sure if these nuances will give me a competitive edge during gaming, but it sure makes my listening experience much more immersive, fun, and enjoyable. A little bit about the headset fit: It has a very snug fit which, in my opinion, helps to seal in the bass and other sounds.

After a few hours the leatherette earpads became uncomfortable and that my ears were beginning to sweat. I should mention that my ears are very sensitive, of wearing these headsets beyond two or three hours is actually quite good.

I found that wearing these headsets over my hoodie is much more comfortable and there was no degradation in sound quality at all. I will conclude by saying that the Logitech G Pro X headset exceeded my expectations and are definitely worth the investment.

They are durable and I expect them to last for quite some time. This headset is great for all around listening and you will not be disappointed.

After using this keyboard, I’m extremely impressed. The first thing I love about this keyboard is how comfortable it is to use. The keys have a nice texture and the wrist mat is great for long game playing sessions.

Another thing I really like about this keyboard is how many colors it has. This really enhances my overall mood while playing games. The colors are also completely customizable, which is very nice. Another noteworthy feature is that the keyboard is completely powered by my computer-no batteries needed.

In terms of the responsiveness of this keyboard, there doesn’t seem to be any issues or delays with the keys responding to my quick actions. This keyboard is perfect in every way for my gaming. The durability of this keyboard also seems to be very impressive.

The frame is constructed of heavy-duty aluminum. I also haven’t experienced any problems with functionality issues or problems with keys getting stuck. The last noteworthy feature to point out is how universal this keyboard is.

I’ve been able to use this keyboard with both my Mac and PS4 without any issues. Overall, I’m very pleased with this keyboard and would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for an amazingly durable yet high-performing keyboard!.

I got the Apex 5 keyboard for my son who is both a pc gamer and a college student. I wanted a keyboard that would be beneficial to him in both aspects and this one seems to fit the bill. Typically gaming keyboards are pricey but the Apex 5 is more affordable which is definitely a large advantage over competitors.

My son loves the colorful backlighting on this keyboard. The keys are all individually lit and the brightness is adjustable. There is a detachable wrist rest which is a nice feature since between his virtual classes and gaming he spends a great deal of time on his computer.

He’s reported he likes the feel of the keyboard. The keys are light, don’t move around unnecessarily. His keying is accurate and responsive which helps him with his intense game playing. He said he likes the volume of the key clicks with each keystroke.

He’s not had any issues with this keyboard and seems very pleased. I personally like that it’s wired so we don’t have to keep replacing batteries. Overall this is highly recommended if you’re in the market for a gaming keyboard at a competitive price!.

I purchased this keyboard to use for PC gaming from the couch. My PC is about 8 feet away and is located behind the TV. The wireless technology used for this keyboard seems to require a direct line of sight to the dongle.

This required a separate extension cable to place the dongle in an area that could accomplish this. Interestingly, I also was using a Razer Orochi v2 wireless mouse which has had zero issues with the connection dropping during normal use.

Even with a USB extension cable and direct LoS established, when someone would walk between the dongle and the keyboard, the connection would drop. If the top of the keyboard was not pointed directly at the dongle, the connection would drop.

This was not a good solution for this use case. Conversely, I purchased a Logitech wireless mechanical keyboard the next day, which I am now using to type this review. Dongle is behind the TV. Zero issues.

The keyboard itself had adequate build quality. Not really anything to write home about. Layout was good for my tastes and the location of the Fn key was convenient. With backlight settings at 5% and a static color, I used this keyboard for roughly 10 hours after a full charge and was left with 91% battery.

The PBT keycaps don’t allow as much shinethrough as ABS caps, which is a problem when you want to set the backlight level low to conserve battery–you don’t get very much light except when the room is pretty dark.

I was really excited when I got this keyboard. The ergonomic layout and connectivity features are spot on! The design, form and function are top notch! I have this keyboard configured to work on 2. 4 Ghz wireless with the included USB wireless dongle.

The keyboard has the yellow switches which are more on the quiet end when pressed. The keyboard case is aluminum and is designed to last a long time provided you don’t run over it with your car or an elephant steps on it? Ha-Ha.

Now comes the sad part. After using daily for two weeks all was well until I had to submit an important document and finish late at night. All of the sudden after being fully charged, the keyboard stopped working properly.

After pressing keys, the characters would not appear on my display or it would show multiple characters from just one key-press. I tried pressing the windows key and it would randomly show the Win menu.

I also noticed that the RGB color display on the keyboard was displaying erratically and would stop illuminating after 3 seconds from a single or multiple key-press. I confirmed that the unit had been fully charged and even tried via direct USB connection and with Bluetooth.

All provided same failed results. I deleted and re-installed the Razer app hoping for a successful resolution. Unfortunately this didn’t solve the issue. In conclusion, I hoped this keyboard would serve a useful purpose for a long time.

Unfortunately it has proven to be unreliable and a disappointment. Fortunately I had a spare wired keyboard to finish my document on time. I guess I will have to look at the Logitech line and other 65% ten-keyless keyboards.

Really sad. this keyboard has a great design and all the features one would expect. I also did some research and found the same array of problems occurred with other users that purchased this keyboard.

IMHO I suggest that Razer take a hard look at this model and re-assess the failures and hopefully come up with a better/reliable solution. Maybe I’ll give it another try some day!.

I literally just picked up this keyboard and I am very disappointed and I hope you guys see this review before deciding to buy this keyboard. I had a Blackwidow Elite which is one of razers best premium keyboards in my opinion you’d think that this being a V3 to the blackwidow chroma line would make it better than the old one aka the v2.

It is not the build on this keyboard is just so shameful especially for the price. Razer really cheaped you out the wrist rest isn’t even magnetically connecting anymore and its not soft its a hard one.

It generally feels so cheap compare to its older models which is such a weird move for Razer to do due to the fact it’s known for i’s premium quality products. I’m going to give it a try and honestly just typing on it right now as I am writing this the keyboard just feels so cheap and weird.

The green switches I have don’t even feel as clicky and loud as my blackwidow elite. As someone whos been using razer products for almost a decade not satisfied at all. If you have the chance get the blackwidow elite I’d recommend buying that over this.

It’s made out of military grade metal and I’m sure is cheaper now due to it being a older keyboard.

The keys are responsive and click, and the keyboard looks amazing. What’s not amazing, though, is the sound it makes. I know its mechanical, so I expected some clackiness (and even enjoy clackiness to an extent), but this is really too much.

Not only is there a loud, hollow plastic-on-plastic sound that the case seems to amplify and echo, there’s also a mechanical springy “pang” sound that accompanies each press. It’s truly awful; if you’re at all sensitive to sounds, then this keyboard is likely unusable without headphones.

Also, one of the keys snapped off. No idea how this even happened; I picked it up to move it and the “1” key just sorta fell off. This wasn’t a matter of the key cap coming off; the purple switch itself somehow snapped in half, leaving remnants in the key cap.

I was able to super glue it back on, but even so, I’m worried about the longterm viability of this thing. For $50-ish, it’s fine, I guess. The keys really do feel quite nice. For normal retail price, though, it’s an absolute swindle.

The Razer Huntsman Mini is the definition of SMOOTH. Firstly, the optical switches, whilst having a short travel distance, really do actuate at the speed of light as they say. And the linear switches.

Don’t get me started on those! They. Feel. CREAMY. They are so smooth that they compete with butter in terms of smoothness. And the onboard profiles give me really nice RGB effects out of the box. If you are after a keyboard that does the job extremely well, this keyboard gives you everything you need as the foundations for an excellent keyboard.

One simple recommendation is to lube the switches’ stabilisers so they don’t rattle, but you just won’t notice it in game really. Overall, this product not only single handedly saved my desk space, but also saved my eardrums as well as nailing the foundations for what makes a keyboard excellent, which, in my opinion, this product nails down exceptionally.

The keyboard was working fine when I first got it. I was in love with the RGB, and I was extremely happy. A few days later, it just stopped working. The RGB wouldn’t turn on, and I kept getting an error message saying “USB device not recognized” and “The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it.

” I’ve tried reconnecting it countless times, but it just won’t work at all. I even tried plugging it into my laptop to see if the issue was with my PC, but they keyboard still didn’t work. I’ve never spilled anything on it at all either.

I also noticed that the RGB is very laggy, and it sometimes won’t connect correctly (yes, I do have the NGENUITY software). The RGB will randomly change, even when I haven’t changed it through the NGENUITY app.

On top of that, it also flashes a lot for no reason. I’ve tried everything to make my keyboard start working again (cleaning USB ports, plugging it into different USB ports on my pc, etc) and absolutely nothing works.

I’m extremely disappointed with this product; I had heard many good things about it. I do love the way it is designed though, it’s just the keyboard programming itself doesn’t work well whatsoever.

The keyboard is well made with the full aluminium body. It makes the keyboard durable and it doesn’t look or feel cheap. The keycaps aren’t the best out there but you can always swap them. ( Even if they’re not the best quality you won’t be dissapointed ).

The sound for some people will be annoying but for others will sound awesome in their eyers. A downside is the software. It’s still in BETA and you’ll have to download it from Microsoft store and one of the main minuses is that you’ll have to minime the software if you want a specific colors on the keyboard.

( You still have 4 different options set as default without the need of the software, just use FN+F1,F2,F3,F4 ). If you’re moving from a non-mechanical keyboard be prepared to spend some time learning how to write again because of the little respond-time of the keys you’ll often make typos.

But overall 10/10!.

I wanted an upgrade from my red dragon 552 that was also TKL. It was between this keyboard and the razor huntsman tournament edition, and after reading many reviews and watching video reviews on youtube.

I decided on this one and couldn’t be happier!! PROS: Fully aluminum so its nice and sturdy, keys are quiet (except spacebar), RGB really shines from the switches. CONS: HYPERX NGENUITY software could be better, but it’s in beta so we’ll see what changes they make in the future.

SPACEBAR is very loud, but I installed double keycap dampers and it helped a lot. HyperX makes quality products, and they didn’t disappoint with this one!! I hope you enjoy it if you decide to get it because I definitely do!.

This is a fantastic little keyboard. Everybody is going for the minimal setup these days and you can’t blame ’em because it looks so clean. The RGBs are really nice if you’re into that. Fully customizable in the Razer Synapse app.

I like to see what other people come up with in their lighting setups, which can easily be downloaded and imported to your own keyboard. I highly recommend choosing the linear switches if you don’t like loud clicky clackies.

The sound is so quiet and satisfying. I did end up returning mine only because I was missing having arrow keys and a numpad. I ended up getting the huntsman elite with linear switches. I will say the full size huntsman elite keys are noticeably louder, if you’re trying to decide between the two.

I’m honestly thinking about purchasing this little guy again to swap out from time to time. If you’re already used to the 60% size, this thing sure is a winner. Catch it on sale and you won’t regret it!.

As the title says, I am not a gamer. I am in mid50s business professional who spends about 60 hours a week in front of a computer. So I went to Best Buy looking for a new keyboard to replace my old Logitech with the sticky space bar.

I tried every keyboard they had in the business section and they all felt mushy and flimsy. I glanced over into the next aisle where the gaming keyboards are, and the sales rep said oh those are gaming keyboards, you probably dont want one of those.

Lured by the seductive flashing colored lights, I ignored his advice and went over and started typing on the Huntsman Elite keyboard. All I could say is WOW The tactile feel and exquisitely wonderful clickiness of this keyboard is exactly what I was looking for.

I havent felt a keyboard this precise since the old IBM keyboards of the 1970s and 80s. Again Wow This is exactly what I was looking for I tried a number of other gaming keyboards. All were good, but this one simply felt the best.

Bringing it back to the office, installation was easy and flawless. Its worth mentioning that it does require two USB ports. This is not a problem for me as I have a USB hub and docking station. Plugging in to the ports, my HP Spectre360 immediately recognized the keyboard and produced a welcome screen for me to download the software.

The software provides a wide selection of settings and adjustments but is remarkably easy to use. As a business user, I certainly dont need all of the flashing lights, but to be honest they are so cool I could not resist setting up custom chroma profiles.

Basically, you can make the lights and colors do pretty much anything you want them to do. The chroma set up allows you to build layers of lighting features in a method that reminds me of Photoshop. The one thing that my old Logitech keyboard had that I liked was a dedicated button for the Calculator app.

It is something that I used several times each day. While the Huntsman Elite keyboard does not have this, I was able to create a macro and remap the pausebreak key to perform this function. Took a little bit of research to figure out how, but it wasnt difficult.

After several days of using this new keyboard I am as thrilled as ever. The keys are silky smooth and have a precision that makes it a pleasure to use. One thing worth mentioning is that the keys are very clicky which I personally like.

However, If you share an office with somebody, I could see where they might find the clicking to be a bit annoying. The overall build quality of this keyboard is superb. It is heavy and feels very solid.

The volume control on the right side of the keyboard is perfectly placed and is very useful. I have only one complaint about this keyboard. On some of the keys that have a dual function for shift, such as the colon and semicolon, the markings on the key are upside down from the norm.

The nonshift function is on the top and the shift function is on the bottom. And only the nonshift function is illuminated see photo. Its not a big deal as I am primarily a touchtypist, but it seems a little bit stupid.

All I can say is I wish I knew but such an excellent keyboard existed years ago. I think this company should market this product to business people like me as well as gamers.

I read online reviews saying how good this was, but honestly, my ‘stock’ alienware laptop keybad was better. The RGB colors seemed to ‘hertz’ so slowly that my eye recognized them while I was trying to look a the monitor.

It caused eye strain as my eyes keep seeing the ‘buzzing’ colors of the keyboard over the screen. It just wasnt/isnt like my RGB alienware laptop keyboard. The colors also just seem to be radiating from everywhere, not coming only out of the keys like I like.

Just seems like an over flooding of colors, not percise as individualized keys that just the keys are light up, not their surrounding area. I returned it, its not for me. I also didnt like this intruisive ‘razer software’ screen that comes up EVERYTIME you restart the computer.

Great, it needs software, do I really need you to spam my bootup process with that? Just do it in the background, instead it wants to REMIND YOU that you need this software loaded for the keyboard to work apparently.

Great RBG against the white “plate” beneath the keys. The white really helps the colors look clear and vibrant. As with some other Razer products, the lighting can change based on the games you play.

For example, in Overwatch, the colors will change based on which character I pick. The movement and ability keys are automatically set to different colors so you can see them, and the LED on certain ability keys will blink to indicate that the ability is on a cooldown.

Not entirely helpful because you’re primarily looking at the monitor when playing a game, so these features may go unnoticed most of the time, but it is pretty neat. Very interactive. If you’re a mechanical keyboard fan, this board might not be for you.

The key feel is very obviously membrane, but I enjoy the tactility regardless (and I think I prefer the feel more than the Hako Royal Trues I have on one of my custom boards). No customization options whatsoever, unless I’m missing something.

USB cable is NOT removable, but there are cable gutters on the bottom to route the wire whichever way you want. Cannot use the Razer PBT keycap upgrade, which is fine for me because I prefer ABS plastic.

I read online that removing these keycaps is not recommended and can damage the board because they are not the same kind of mount as other Razer boards and are not designed to be removed. I would like to be proven wrong, but I’m not willing to damage the board to find out.

(When it comes to cleaning, just use compressed air to blow away any debris while holding the board upside down. ) Squeaky spacebar. Only when I press it on the right side. Since the keycaps cannot be removed, and further customization is not really in the board’s design, I cannot fix the bad stabilizer in the spacebar.

I hope the squeak goes away over time. Overall, I like this keyboard. I’ve wanted it for months despite working on custom mechanical projects, and I finally got it. It doesn’t blow me away or anything—it’s just a decent board that I was drawn to because of the key feel.

It’s a good membrane board. It’s got a lot of features. Read up on what it can do.

Overall I was extremely satisfied with the Cynosa V2. Keys were very responsive, it was comfortable, media keys were extremely useful, and going beyond that the Razer software was easy to use to change the lighting if that’s a key point for you.

My only complaint, and the only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars, is that the keys seemed to wear off very quickly. Now, it is important to know that I used this for my workstation as well, but it was only about 3 months before my most used keys started to fade, and about one more before some of them were completely unreadable just by looking at it.

Not a major problem, but it was sad to see that happen. Even with that, the product is still completely functional, so it’s not something that would explicitly prevent me from recommending the product.

I don’t normally really use any external keyboard outside of work especially this being my first mini keyboard, preferring to use my laptops keyboard but this has somewhat convinced me that there is merit to external offerings.

Packaging wise, I was pleasantly surprised by how easy and straightforward it was to unpack and get setup. I know it’s only a keyboard but many others have made packaging difficult so glad this was a pleasant experience.

As far as the setup, it’s basically plug and play. No need to download drivers from a site or anything, just windows auto detection. I can’t say it was entirely smooth sailing tho, since when I first connected it it wasn’t really responding to key presses except the windows key.

After around a minute or so it worked as I would expect so I’m going to chalk that up to windows shenanigans. Visually, the keyboard is very nice. The RGB effect is pleasant and not too overdone, the key backlighting is also similarly great.

There wasn’t any info about this in the box but you can download software for the keyboard from the site in order to fully customize the RGB as well as set the different macros or combos for the meta layer which is really neat.

Moving onto functionality the keyboard is joy to use. It’s nice and lightweight and the keys have a satisfying clack when you press them. I’m usually used to keyboards with shallower keys so it did feel a little strange at first using this but that feeling very quickly went away.

The keyboard has 2 seperate modes with different travel depth for registering an input, 1 for typing and 1 for gaming, but tbh I couldn’t really tell the difference between the two but that’s not necessarily a bad thing since the experience typing on it was good overall.

The one downside is that as a 60% mini keyboard it does not include the arrow keys. This has been my first experience with such a keyboard but it was quite interesting to discover how much I actually did use those arrow keys in normal usage even though I’ve never even thought about it at all previously.

Ideally I’d love for them to be able to squeeze those 4 keys in there somehow but I’m sure other people don’t use them nearly as much and will appreciate the extra space being freed up by the lack of their inclusion.

Overall, it’s been quite pleasant to use over these past few days and even though it doesn’t perfectly fit my preferences I can see the appeal and how it would fit many others more suitably. I could definitely see me using it as a travel accessory especially for troubleshooting issues at work.

I would love to see more info regarding what you can actually do/customize with the keyboard be included in the box without me having to go to the product page to find that out as well as some work on speeding up that initial responsiveness niggle there was but this definitely should be on your shortlist at the end of the day.

Build quality is on par with the Origins Alloy RGB full size keyboard that HyperX released and with the inclusion of doubleshot PBT keycaps on this, I personally find this sounds and types better than Razer’s Huntsman Mini range of 60% keyboards.

The placement of the second layer arrow keys is also way more ergonomic compared to where most 60% keyboards place them (usually I, J, K, L). HyperX also appear to have fixed the issues with rattle-y stabilisers on the spacebar for currently sold models compared with when this product was first released.

RGB lighting on this is nice and strong with excellent saturation. This 60% keyboard gives you all the benefits of a full size keyboard in a much more compact package and it makes my work from home setup that much more ergonomic than using a full-size keyboard (or even a mini-TKL/TKL keyboard).

The only compelling reason I would have to choose Razer’s Huntsman Mini lineup over this are the optical switches used in that model. But honestly, these HyperX Red switches are on par with them.

Overall, Im pretty pleased with this keyboard. It has a nice amount of key travel and its pretty quiet. Its very similar to a cross between a mechanical keyboard which is really loud and a low profile membrane keyboard which can be annoying to type on.

Its a very sturdy keyboard thats much heavier than I expected it to be. It wont shift around your desk without a decent amount of force. My primary reason for getting the keyboard was to having something thats backlit to make it easier to see in the dark or low light.

It accomplished that task with three brightness settings off, 50, 100 and a wide selection of colors. In the static mode, there are five separate zones that can each be set to one of nine colors. I personally just used the solid color.

The LED control is all in the hardware, so no special software is needed. This might be a negative for people that want to customize their keyboard from the computer, but for me, its fine. The reason I dinged it a star were because of a few little things I didnt like.

Without the light on, you basically cannot see the keys at all with its design. The transparent portion that shows the letters blends in very closely to the black keys. When you are looking at the keyboard at an angle versus straight down, the backlight doesnt shine through cleanly, thus making some of the letters look a little weird.

The keys with multiple characters where you use shift have the characters sidebyside instead of the traditional vertical layout. It slows down your ability to find some of the keys quickly, especially when looking at an angle Not an issue, but something else to note the white is not really white at all.

Its that LED blue color thats commonly found on Christmas lights.

I bought this because I wanted a non mechanical keyboard for a change, and I liked the way this one felt in stores. After using it for over a year I like it, but it does have some cons. The big one for me is the software.

Anytime my pc restarts, it resets my lighting settings (which is annoying because it’ll turn them on when they’re off. ) I have to reopen the software to fix it. Annoying because it’s in my room and lights bother me when I’m trying to sleep.

I dislike that moment of “My pc restarted, guess I have to get up and log in so I can turn off my keyboard” while I’m trying to fall asleep. Another minor gripe I have is that sometimes holding down the shift key to run in game just stops working.

I have to depress and repress. Otherwise it’s been fine. It’s quiet, has a nice typing feel, and has all the basic functions I require in a keyboard. Will use it until it breaks probably.

I purchased this keyboard when it was on sale. There should be a couple things to consider when you purchase this keyboard. One, it is a mechanical keyboard and Razer mechanical keyboards are loud. Second, Razer has three types of switches for their mechanical keyboards.

They are yellow, orange, and green. Yellow is supposedly the quietest and green is the loudest. If you don’t like a loud keyboard, then this one is not for you. There are ways you can quiet the keyboard’s loud clicks and it does make a small difference in the noise.

I put o-rings underneath each keycap in order to muffle the noise the keyboard creates. It helped tremendously but the keyboard is still loud. Additionally, while I type with this keyboard, I hear an echo that comes from inside the keyboard which can be annoying but not distracting enough for me personally.

Now for the good things about this keyboard. First, if you type a lot, than this one is for you. It types very well and can be used outside of using it solely for the purpose of gaming. Second, you can customize it and change the colors through an app Razer offers.

Third, Razer does offer an option to upgrade the keycaps to their PBT keycaps and they only cost $30. I have purchased these in order to create a more hallowed noise verses a clicky noise. All in all, this keyboard does have many benefits and if you don’t mind the noise, I highly recommend it.

I love the know that allows me to adjust the volume on my laptop when I plug this keyboard into it.

Very unimpressed with the quality of the “media keys” and especially the “roller” – its cheap and it feels cheap and continuously scrolls 2 digits at a time instead of 1. The lighting might be integrated with Razer Chroma software and work; but the individual keys cant be set to have White on the symbol, number, letter, etc permanently on their own separate from the colour spectrum or style that you choose to use.

This is a massive flaw because you cannot read the key you want to use unless you set the colour to something that can be read !?? Razer has completely failed in quality control for their so-called “cheaper” keyboards – which is not cheap!! The key are also not quite as this is meant to be the case, considering its NOT a “mechanical” keyboard.

Unimpressed, and its not a good product due to reasons stated.
