A gaming headset for PS4 under 100 is a set of headphones designed specifically for use with the PlayStation 4 gaming console. Headsets typically include one or two speakers for stereo sound, a microphone for voice chatting with other players, and a wired or wireless connection to the console.
Some headsets also include additional features like surround sound, LED lighting, and noise cancellation.

If you are looking for an immersive sound experience, these aren’t your headphones. That being said, they do what they say they’ll do. You can hear the sound on all the gaming platforms and the mic works well.
I do like that it’s a retractable mic so when not in use it goes back into the ear piece. My friends said they could hear me well on it. The on-headset controls work as expected and they are slim and lightweight as advertised.
If you’re looking for a decent-ish headset for your kid, this might work. Otherwise, spend the extra coin and get a more expensive headset by the same manufacturer. I have an older, more expensive, pair of steelseries headphones and the difference in sound is night and day.
These are hollow, tinny and “just not good” as my husband put it. I wouldn’t expect headphones at this price point to rival the spendy ones, however you get what you pay for. We tried these with the new Xbox and pc gaming (World of Warcraft) and had the same experience with both systems.
These will be going to our 10 year old, who doesn’t care about the sound quality as much as we do.

Let me start off by saying my kids absolutely love this Nintendo switch brand headphone ! Not only are they Nintendo brand BUT they are the perfect matching colors to match their switch ! So they are just Perfect ! Let’s not forget how great they work too ! The sound of the game and voice of online friends talking are really clear and when I ask the other end how we sounded they said we were completely clear with no static at all.
we also ask if there is any lagging and there is none at all not even by a second …and both of those factors are very important in gaming. they are wired we would prefer wireless but that’s not too big of a problem most switch headphones are …we love that you can just switch up the mic that goes to your mouth to turn them on or off that’s very convenient quick and easy to do especially when your in a serious game or match …so our review is if you are in the market to buy gaming headphones then definitely look into buying these they work great and we give them a thumbs up ! We definitely recommend them but don’t take our word for it go out buy them and try them out for yourself.
The features on these headphones are top notch & the quality is outstanding. They are super comfortable & I’m able to wear them for hours without any discomfort or cheap parts poking me. The sound quality perfect especially when comparing it to some of the most expensive gaming headsets out there.
Playing war like games I can hear every footstep as well as the bass in the shots fired and extra background noise. The mic feature extends easily and I am heard nice & clear by others. I’ve never had any bad interruptions from the headset.
The wire extends a good length so if you get excited like myself & jerk back the wire is long enough not to send them flying off your head. Great gaming headset!!.
I don’t play online a whole lot, so I didn’t want to spend a lot on gaming headphones. I bought these (new) at GameStop for $25. I Just tried these out on my Xbox One and I was very impressed. They are more comfortable and have much better sound than the turtle beach recon 70X I had been using.
The LVL 40 headphones are rather plain looking but still sleek. Ear cups are covered in fabric, but they are comfortable. I only mentioned that because I’d noticed that other companies like to point out when their ear cups are made of fancier(?) materials.
These felt fine after playing Mortal Kombat for an hour while wearing glasses. I haven’t used the headphones to chat yet, so I can’t comment on that feature, ( though I realize it is likely very important to anyone buying this product.
The mic is covered in foam,( I don’t know what difference that makes compared to a bare microphone). The mic boom does fold up out of the way and it is completely flexible. Even though I probably wouldn’t use these for music very often , I also connected the headphones to my iPhone and listened to some music out of curiosity, and they sounded pretty good! The headphones are plug n play there was no set up required.
Durability is unknown at this point but so far very good.
Go to the next level in your comfort and your game with this lightweight Turtle Beach Recon 50 gaming headset. Grab the lightweight Recon 50, plug it in, and play. Its that simple. Experience a comfortable over-ear fit as the large 40mm speakers provide crystal clear audio for a truly immersive game experience that lets you hear every crisp high and thundering low.
Convenient in-line controls place Master Volume and Mic Mute right at your fingertips for quick and easy modifications. The adjustable mic may be removed for radio silence, listening to music, or watching a movie.
Universally compatible through the standard 3. 5mm jack connection, your Recon 50 works with newer Xbox One controllers, PS4 Pro and PS4 consoles, PC, Mac, and compatible mobile/tablet devices.
It’s a good headset if your goal is to accidentally suffocate yourself. There are two wires coming from both the left and right ear, and they connect right underneath your chin to form a single cable.
This makes it extremely uncomfortable because there’s barely any room to fit your head without these wires constantly touching your chin/neck while you’re playing, and you look like a f*cking jack-ass.
The earcuffs of the headset feel extremely stiff and awkward to wear. Next, I tested the speaker quality and it was horrible. Voices sound extremely deep, quiet, and low-pitched. Keep in mind, I bought this just because my previous headset, that I used for 5-6 years, was on the cusp of dying, with the cable ripped and one of the sides being completely nonfunctional.
THAT headset sounds better than this one. Obvious this is a cheap headset so I’m not expecting anything studio-grade here, but I at least want my humans beings to sound like human beings, not having the audio super-distorted.
This is a BAD headset, both in terms of actually wearing the thing AND using it. Avoid at all costs. There are other generic headsets they sell at bestbuy for the same price and they are MUCH better.
Purchased this as a back up to my stealth 700. Is OK as far as sound. Kinda washed out or tiny. But instantly on because it’s plugged in to controller. My stealth 700 never connects without moving a volume dial up n down.
The quality is the same as any other TB headset. The fit is smaller ear cups/tighter to head. Service / customer support on any turtle beach is fair. The headset ear cushions on any TB HEADSET don’t last and they charge you 20.
00 for a replacement set. That’s why a purchase this 50x model. It was cheaper than the ear cups on the 700 unit.
I got these because they were the least expensive for compatability of all the systems and among the brands that are at the top of their game. I question whether they hurt my head but not sure because I do have a health condition that does not do well with pressure, nerves, temperature and restrictiveness.
I do use these and I think the sound quality both to listen to and for others to hear me are both great. I use them for streaming on my Twitch Channel. I was getting lots of feedback that the Xbox Kinect wasn’t providing a great sound experience but the PS4 Pro does.
I use this headset for both consoles. I chose these over the Turtle Beach Battle Buds originally because this had a foam cover over the mic but I do own both now and even though I like the Battle Buds earbud style, I think the mic sound for the 50x is better.
I also accidentally dipped the foam in pudding so I contacted Turtle Beach on cleaning suggestions. They told me OxyClean MaxPro so I just did that yesterday and the foam does come of the mic. Fingers crossed it worked and helped.
That’s what I get for eating during my Twitch streams.
The A10 Headset for PlayStation 4 is “Tuned for Gaming” with ASTRO Audio, ensuring you hear your game and your teammates with clarity and precision. The uni-directional mic featuring flip-to-mute functionality and in-line volume control provides total command of your gaming audio experience.
Damage-resistant with extended comfort construction to combat fatigue means you can game longer and game better. Welcome to the ASTRO Family.
I initially bought this headset simply because it has a built-in microphone and I was tired of using my Apple EarPods as my go-to headset with a mic. After my EarPods’ microphone died on me, I decided to unbox this product, and I was in for a SHOCK! Before I get into the nitty-gritty, I will praise Astro Gaming for the build quality.
The A10 is a well-built pair of headphones. However, the headband squeezed my head too tight. The ear cups were super uncomfortable to the point where I was sore a day after wearing them. What’s worse? The audio quality is absolute TRASH! I should’ve known better given the fact I’m an audio engineer by trade.
If you want to know just how bad these are, the volume dips at around 600 Hz and doesn’t come back up until 900 Hz. Essentially, all of the high-mids of the average human range of hearing is GONE! I would never recommend this to anyone as a cheap gaming headset.
I was better off buying another pair of Apple EarPods.
I bought these during a sale – and for what they can deliver in terms of audio output is astonishing for the price! Keep in mind that I left 4 stars – because of the cord. While the build is made of quality, the cord installation could’ve been better.
At first I thought I had a defective pair of Astros. Then I found out that the other end of the cable has a longer tip. The long side plugs into the headset – you need to REALLY APPLY FORCE when plugging the cord in to get a solid audio connection.
The headphones sound indestructible! The BEST audio for the price range. Overall build is phenomenal. These headphones are built solid and rugged. Just make sure to properly install the audio cable correctly (really force the longer cable tip into the left ear cup port) and you are good!.
The Skullcandy Riff On-Ear Wireless Headphones are a big hit in my home everyone wants to use them. My children take turns using them for different activities. My son uses the Skullcandy Riff On-Ear Wireless Headphones when he plays his PlayStation.
The Skullcandy Riff On-Ear Wireless Headphones have a mic so he can talk to his friends the mic is very clear sounding. My other son uses the Skullcandy Riff On-Ear Wireless Headphones to listen to his music so the rest of the house doesn’t have to hear it.
The base is amazing on the Skullcandy Riff On-Ear Wireless Headphones. I can hear the base pumping when he puts certain songs on. My youngest uses the Skullcandy Riff On-Ear Wireless Headphones when he is playing on his tablet.
He likes watching YouTube and playing games while on car rides and the Skullcandy Riff On-Ear Wireless Headphones are perfect for that as the rest of the car doesn’t have to listen to the sounds. The cushion of the ear pieces are great and make the headphones easy to wear for extended time without hurting your ears.
I love that they are wireless so I don’t have to mess arriving with cords and the charge is great on them. I also love that the Skullcandy Riff On-Ear Wireless Headphones are adjustable so everyone can use them.
I will be getting everyone there own personal pair so we don’t have to share. That’s just another thing I love about the Skullcandy Riff On-Ear Wireless Headphones they are so affordable but amazing quality.
I’d recommend the Skullcandy Riff on-ear wireless headphones to anyone looking for a headset that does it all.
With the LVL30, a wired chat headset awaits you. With a lightweight and comfortable design that suits all types of players, this headset can be adjusted to fit both the left and right ear. With the LVL30, you can hear your fellow players clearly through a 30mm audio driver and make quick audio adjustments using the volume control on the earcup and mute button.
You can start chatting instantly with the simple wired configuration.
Overall, I would give this headset a 4/5 starts based on the perceived quality, price, and value. This is by no means a Turtlebeach headset, but it gets the job done. If you’re looking for a headset for your middle-school or high-school aged child to use, this is probably worth considering.
PROS: The portion of the headset that has the earpiece is pretty comfortable on the ear. It’s not too tight, fairly soft, and projects a decent amount of sound. It’s by no means noise-canceling, but it rests firmly enough to your ear, allowing you to comfortably hear what you need to.
Adjusting the volume is straight-forward since the volume wheel is also located on this portion of the headset. CONS: Headset fits a little tight. I have a pretty small head, and the side without the earphone presses rather firmly into my temple, such to the extent that I had to move it around into different spots after playing several online matches because of a slight headache.
That being said, I only had to do this for the first few days. And I’m not sure that this is that fair of a criticism–I’d rather have a headset be too tight than too loose, always falling off my head.
I imagine that it will get a little bit more stretched out over time, making it a little more comfortable. Just something you should anticipate if you have a larger head.
At first glance this headset looks to work for a multiple of age groups because of its expandable design. All three members of my family can easily fit it on our heads and have it be comfortable. I would say that the design overall lends itself best to a teenager.
The ear cushion was lightweight and soft to wear for multiple hour gaming sessions. I prefer a wired headset for longer gaming sessions so I do not have to concern myself with charging a headset or an issue of power arising at an important battle.
This cord was of decent and average length, though I would love to see the core slightly shorter so that it isn’t in the way with extra cord length. The volume was easily adjusted and also easy to mute thanks to its flip up design.
I really love this feature as I like to mute my conversation when a family member walks in the room. For a simple headset with just enough features to get by I really enjoyed this one.
This headset works great for when I’m gaming with friends and has good sound with no static. For the price point I am impressed with the quality of the headset. I really like that this particular headset, the LVL 30, is not to big and bulky like some other PlayStation headsets.
Having only one ear covered so I am still ware of my surroundings is nice. Some highlights of the headset for me is the its lightweight and not super heavy; the ear cushion is comfortable and breathable; the mic has a really cool flip up mute feature and the mic is noise-cancelling; and it gives you the ability to wear the headset on either ear.
I would recommend this to my friends and I think it makes a great gift as well!.
Chat with friends while playing games using this Razer Kraken multi-platform wired gaming headset. The earpieces are made with memory foam for added comfort, while the stereo sound offers a more immersive experience.
This Razer Kraken multi-platform wired gaming headset features a retractable microphone, letting you stow it away when not in use.
I went for these since they were on sale for the same price as the wired Blackshark set (80+tax). Initially they were absolutely perfect for sound quality and comfort – they weren’t overly heavy, the cooling foam was so nice & they didn’t get warm until ~4 hours into a gaming session, & the sound was fantastic.
They’re a little bulky, but overall were brilliant. Then, about a month into owning them, I noticed the sound went extremely quiet to where I could barely hear anything, despite the volume being around the 40-50% mark.
Not long after, it died completely, no matter how high the volume was. I unplugged them and plugged them back in, thinking maybe it was my controller – still got no sound. Tried a brand new controller, still got nothing.
Tried my phone, and what do you know – nothing. Keep in mind the mic worked perfectly fine still. I didn’t abuse the headset at all during use, and I returned them to the stand Razer sells every time I was done with them; the cord was allowed to hang down completely as well, and they weren’t in an area where they’d accidentally be caught by me or anyone else in the house.
Couldn’t return them to BB as the return period had passed, and I didn’t buy an extended warranty, so I went to Razer themselves to see if their 1 year warranty would cover it. A year later, I’m still waiting for a response back from them, despite sending about 1-2 emails about it per month.
Overall, just don’t waste your money despite the hype that these headsets have from so many gamers/streamers out there. Save the money for a set that’s actually worth the cost.
I had the older version of the Kraken that had analog and a (i dont remember the names sorry) a volume control tool on the wire that ended up being how i lost it. I swore off analog headsets because they seemed to be too easy to end up broken or partially broken and screeching in your ear occasionally.
I ended up replacing it with another but regardless of friends saying that my new headset had better sound quality than the tournament edition razer kraken, it really didn’t. It had very high quality sound for immersive gaming such as MMORPG players and even watching movies.
So fast forward i have no headset really and my mom tried to make my life a bit brighter and told me anything online i wanted that wasn’t too expensive i could have. There wasn’t much i could think of.
I remembered how i had no real headset at the moment and i did want to indulge in a girly pink headset which i have never had in gaming equipment. I remembered hearing how the mic was clear and the sound quality didn’t pay for that quality on it.
I decided it was a good temporary headset and i bought it. The sound was great and mic quality was amazing, for once people could hear me clearly through bad internet. It had analog which honestly only caused any problems when it got yanked out as i moved with a laptop.
I ended up getting my headset meant to not be the temporary one and it was a 200 something dollar LED wireless headset that very soon gave me charging issues. I ended up neglecting the charge on that one and i misplaced the USB end so I just went back to my under 100$ pink Razer kraken headset and even now almost two years later i am using this headset over others that may be better overall but not to the extent i feel like putting up with more issues.
So, maybe that can help sum up the kind of headset this is, its not expensive its not ugly its very comfortable and it does what i need a headset to do, As a person who pays attention to detail and the small things can throw me off of how i view things, This is definitely satisfactory for an actual good headset that can be on par with the ones built more extensively.
It’s rare i come across good quality, durable, hassle free, tech related products. It may just overall depend on preference, but if you are considering a more high end headset when you can settle for something basically identical thats cheaper and less likely to break down, id go for this one.
I use this for both gaming and casual music listening. They sound muddier than my Logitech that was half the price. The sort of games that I play, (ex. Dead by Daylight as Killer) rely heavily on my ability to pick out footsteps (which tend to be on the treble end) from other environmental noise in-game.
This headset, without the equalizer, does not make these differences crisp. The equalizer needed to *sort of* fix it is not free. You must pay an extra $10 for the THX Spatial Audio which has the equalizer.
The price of $10 is only after using their 50% off code – which is inserted in the box. It’s almost as if they knew you’d need it :/. And because THX Spatial Audio functions as a “different sound source” in Windows 10 from Realtek, or 7.
1 Surround, it’s all wacky. I have to choose between living in oatmeal or having everyone in my Discord calls hear my desktop audio. Razer’s website doesn’t seem keen on patching it, either – their heavily sensored forums are full of similar complaints.

Just to start off, I do like this headset a lot when compared to my previous wireless headset (BlackShark V2 Pro) and there are some great things about it. First, and definitely the main selling point of this headset, is its incredible battery life.
I read reviews that said it lasted beyond its rated 300 hour battery life and I can confirm it is that good. The sound quality is nice but the EQ presets are a bit lacking with the HyperX software. The build quality is nice but the fit is a bit awkward for my head as I have noticed my ears get a little uncomfortable after some longer use.
Some actually annoying issues I have with this headset come from the audio side of things with some awful clicking sound nearly every time there is a sudden audio transition (i. e. a video stops on youtube or you pause a song).
This is really annoying since it seems to be a general issue with the Cloud Alpha line and not just this wireless version of it. It isn’t a deal breaker for me but I wish it didn’t do this obviously.
Other than that, the only other issue I have is that there is a very subtle amount of white noise I hear when the headset is on but I really only notice it when I turn the headset off and realize that there was actually some static noise.
I do like this headset a lot and I appreciate the wireless consistency compared to my previous headset along with the battery life that’s in a league of its own but it is important to note its flaws.
TL;DR: Don’t buy this if you want good sound quality and a reliable headset because this isn’t either of those things. Pros: -Easy to set up -comfortable -simple design -battery life is great Cons: -poor sound quality even with modified EQ settings -every time I turn the headset on, I’m met with either a VERY noticeable audio latency, or the sound has a lot of static.
Don’t waste your money on this headset. I’m maybe 3-4 days of consistent usage and it’s given me nothing but problems. out-of-the-box sound quality is very tinny and different applications will provide different volume outputs.
(nothing like switching from one game to another only to have my eardrums assaulted by the opening menu music when both games have the same volume levels in settings). not to mention the fact that every time I turn this thing on, I am greeted with audio issues without fail.
This headset is maybe worth $50 at best, but due to the “300 Hour Battery Life” gimmick, it’s allowed them to drive the price sky-high. I missed out on more quality headsets and could’ve saved some money instead of buying this junk.
I’ve had quite a few HyperX headsets and this is by far the worst, and I would expect more from this company than this heap. Cloud 2’s are still my gold-standard for comfort/sound quality, but as for wireless headsets? HyperX is behind the curve.
Despite slightly superior overall audio quality to built-in TV speakers, like the superiority of 3D movies, you don’t even notice the difference after a few minutes. However, I never forget the constant mild pressure around my ears whose impact becomes super obvious once I take the headset off.
I’ve never used gaming headsets, but have heard of the “night and day” difference they make compared to a TV’s speakers. I figured I’d go get these on Black Friday. Even for $60 though instead of $100, it’s not worth it.
I’d rather have a comfortable head, $60 in my wallet, and less wires than deal with the slightly better overall audio, and I mean slightly. Why only slightly better audio? 1. Some sounds are more pronounced, but others are a bit muffled, while TV speakers have more of a middle-ground for everything.
2. The maximum sound level on the Nintendo Switch was absolutely pathetic. I have good hearing, and it was just enough to be suitable. This is unacceptable. What are people with impaired hearing supposed to do? At least my TV can blast the audio if I wanted.
3. Even with inferior sound, you still notice the difference of sound all around you from TV speakers over headphones. 4. Music showed almost no noticeable quality difference. It was mostly sound effects prevalent in video games.
I didn’t know what I was missing with a gaming headset, and it turns out, not much. Maybe super expensive headsets offer that “night and day” difference people are talking about, but for a $100 list price for a wired set, I expected better.
I didn’t even test the mic because I have no use for it. I know headsets have always struggled with comfort. It’s just not worth it.

I like the sound quality and the softness of the ear pads that go around ones ears on this headset. Every one of my friends told me they could hear my game audio coming thru my mic, since day one. That’s the most ridiculous flaw to have because who wants someone in their party chat where we can hear a reverb of everything they are hearing layered with their own game audio.
Super obnoxious and very telling of how they put next to no effort into anything regarding the headset aside from splendid audio quality. So the mic picking up every bit of noise coming thru my ear phone was enough to warrent a poop review, but now the pleather is just shredding and falling apart from every exterior surface of the headset and every time i look at the thing i think of what a heap it is and how its literally only good for me to use, not anyone else playing with me.
Such a dressed up money grab in my opinion. You would be very, very much better off finding something where It works as intended, and the stupid shiny leather wont flake off on your face and head every time you use it.
Dont buy this mic. I looove sony products i really do. but they dropped the ball hard on this one.
I got his headset after returning a Corsair headset due to the lack of surround sound compatibility with PS4. This one is perfect for PS4 gamers. The built in mics are nothing special in terms of sound quality, but they are a nice feature and mean that there’s no detachable boom getting in the way or lost! Battery life is good, but unlike other headsets I’ve owned in the past it doesn’t shut down when your turn off your console so be sure to switch it off after use.
If the battery does die during a session you can plug the 3. 5mm jack into the headset and controller and use it as a wired headset! All of the controls are on the left earcup (including mute) and sometimes it’s difficult to locate quickly without taking off the headset and double checking, but I’m sure this is just because it’s a new set up for me.
My favourite feature is how it interacts with the PS4. You get a little notification (similar to when you first turn on a controller) which shows you battery life, whether you have surround sound activated and the status of the mic.
There’s also an companion app which you can download on your console and customise your settings. You can also save 2 versions of these settings which you can easily switch between using a button on the headset.
Although hesitant at first, I’m very glad I got this headset and and despite is rather simple looking design, it’s still a very good headset for the price!.
I’ve had this headset for a few years now after the original version broke from the hinges. Now, the middle of the headband snapped in two! I really wanted these to outlive my previous set. The earcups don’t sit right because of the headset wanting to push upwards.
It’s not made out of high-quality plastic, unfortunately. But, the app on the Playstation is great for customizing your sound. The function that I love the most is being able to toggle chat to game volumes.
Overall, the sound quality is good for what you pay for. I’m currently looking for a new gaming headset.

I bought this headset last year around the beginning of the pandemic because I knew I’d be gaming a lot. At the time I wasn’t very knowledgeable on gaming equipment and essentially grabbed the first headset I saw that looked decent.
Unfortunately that headset happened to be this one. To start, you can’t use the headset wirelessly if you want to play with friends as when used wirelessly the mic sounds absolutely horrible. Also, they really aren’t very comfortable at all.
Very heavy, hard on the ears. The main reason I am writing this review is to tell people that you can get a WAY better headset than this one for the same price or even cheaper from companies such as steelseries and Logitech.
Pros: Overall good sound. Compatible with PS4 Pro Cons: Battery life is subpar given the $150 price tag on these. Build quality is a 3/5 (same comment as above, subpar) Ear cups not as soft/comfy or seals nearly as well as my $60 Tao Tronics.
They need a dongle perpetually connected to PS (why in the world would Sony not allow it to connect like any usual/standard/logical Bluetooth electronic without annoying dongle). In short, good sound but definitely not worth the price.
These are very good headphones, high quality, fit well, good 3-D sound with good adjustments. However, it seems to be a fairly well known problem that the USB Bluetooth wireless connection fails after some time, meaning you can only use them wired to the controller or phone you’re using.
The worst part is Sony offer no support, replacement or repairs for this and prefer to refer users to a circular path of website support.

This was a personal purchase so I do own them and I do use them. Im a father of two little ones so every penny I spend on myself has to count. This purchase was well worth the money and this seller shipped it out to me in good time.
The sound on these are great. I was looking for something with a mute switch as I like being able to communicate with teammates but like to be considerate with background noises (like children). They are loud enough to drown most things out.
Not as loud as I was expecting but definitely loud. Bass boost is good for hearing ambient sound in games. Actually helped me improve my gameplay a bit. Nice soft cushioning and nice large ear cups to fit over most ears.
Also spreads wide enough to fit my fat head so most everyone should be able to wear them. Mic is the best my team has heard and Ive been playing with them for years. Volume dial works well. This seller sold brand new for about 40% less than what I was seeing everywhere else so a great deal.
I do recommend these if youre on a budget. or even if youre not, this is still a great buy.
I purchased this for my husband for his birthday. I was very skeptical because of all the bad experiences with headsets in general. This was for use with a ps4. I seen what a great price it would be and did some online research which had very good reviews.
At first glance it looks like a 80’s headset but look past the big, bulky size. The sound quality is spot on. We could hear traffic outside of a friend’s house. Very sturdy adjustable and comfortable after you get past the size.
He has only had them a week and absolutely loves them. For the price value these are well worth it. Husband gives it two thumbs up and two big toes up.

So I got these because I needed a headset that had a good, clear mic for my PS5 since my Krakens didn’t sound all that great with my voice. This was one of the few headsets that had more good reviews than bad when it came to the mic.
However. Big nope. I tested these out, messing with settings and all that, and there was a terrible echo. No matter what I did. The more I messed with settings and volume and position eventually it just got worse.
They also didn’t feel as comfortable as my Krakens. So, overall, disliked. Mic didn’t work with PS5, bad echo. Weren’t super comfortable. Didn’t feel like the sound was any better than the Krakens. So I returned them.
The only reason I gave 2 stars is that they were mostly white instead of white with enormous touches of blue, green, red, etc. It’s not easy to find JUST WHITE (why is that?). These have a rim of blue around the ear pads but really isn’t that bad.
These headphones work exactly the way I expected for the price. You can’t adjust game vs chat priority from the headsets. Something I didn’t think about when I bought them, but not a huge deal, especially when they are almost half the cost of the others.
One slight annoyance is that the PlayStation doesn’t always automatically switch sound output from the headsets back to the speakers, so you have to do it manually. Again, nothing huge, just a note. The headsets for nice and snug.
Not too tight, but not too loose. They actually seem to work pretty well with my glasses on too. No discomfort. If you’re looking for cheaper head seats that get the job done and are pretty comfortable, these are the ones for you.

I know these are meant to primarily be gaming headphones, so maybe my experiences with them have been different than others as I don’t do a lot of online gaming. While I have tried these out, my 13 year old son (who always has headphones attached to his head) has mostly used them.
The only real complaint I had with these was getting them connected to devices. He had difficulty at first getting them to connect to devices even when following the instructions. He tried using them on the Nintendo Switch and couldn’t ever really get them connected.
Now that he has them connected to his laptop, he wears them all the time. He likes that they have a sound cancelling button that you can turn on or off. When it’s on (which is most of the time), he rarely hears me.
It does have a microphone that pulls out if he wants to use them as a gaming headset. He mostly plays Roblox with friends or his brother and sister, so it doesn’t get used much, but it works well when he does use it.
The sound quality of the headphones is excellent. He tells me that they are way better than the previous wireless headphones he was using. They are very comfortable over the ears and don’t cause pain after extended use.
They are comfortable enough that he falls asleep with them on sometimes. When they run down, he is good about plugging them in. They seem to last forever without needing to be charged as I know he has used them all day for multiple days before needing to be plugged in.
While these may be more expensive than other brands, they are much more durable and better quality than the cheaper brands. Even with my son wearing them all the time (including while he sleeps sometimes) they are sturdy and should last for a long time while I’ve had to replace his other ones about every 3 months with how tough he is on them.
I would highly recommend them to gamers, teenagers who wear them all the time, or anyone who wants comfortable headphones that help drown out the background noises.
I’ve used many different headsets for gaming over the years, and I still have a few that I use depending on if I’m gaming on my desktop at home or if I’m at a remote location on my laptop. I’ve evolved to be pickier in my taste for headsets, and in particular I only use ones that only have spatial/3d/atmos sound.
For those that play FPS multiplayer games, understand the importance of detailed sound in-game. It really gives you a good advantage, for instance in the COD lineup of games, especially those that support Atmos.
On top if it, having good sound quality really gives an enjoyable experience even in single player games. This is my first headset from SteelSeries, so I was looking forward to see what they had to offer.
Opening the package you get the USB receive, aux cable, and 2x USB A to USB C cables. First thing I did was install the GG software from their website and updated the firmware. You will need to have both the USB receiver and headset plugged into the computer at the same time, hence why they provide 2 of the same cables.
After doing a couple of updates, the software appears to offer various options and settings including an equalizer, mixers and soundboard options. There also appears to be screen recording options for games for those that like to stream.
You can also use their software with other headsets and speakers which is pretty nice. So starting off with initial impressions, the headset is pretty light, which is great for extended use. The ear cushions are more of a cloth which are pretty comfortable.
I really like retractable microphone, probably my second to best favorite feature of this headset. Others have them removable which is alright, but then I have to worry about losing it, packing it, or going through extra effort of plugging it in correctly (some are more challenging than others).
Once I had it connected on my PC using the usb receiver, I didn’t feel much of a wow factor. However, I tested out the Dual Audio Streams which is amazing! I’ll be connected to my PC for games and also connected to my phone for calls and can listen to both at the same time.
Seamless and fumble free! This is big for me since I work from home and require a headset for meetings, play games, and like to be able to easily answer calls on my phone without doing a bunch of extra steps…great feature! The 38 hour battery life and rapid recharge time is a nice feature too, especially for lasting as long while being as lightweight as it is.
Now for the things I’m not so impressed with it. First thing I noticed was the volume doesn’t seem to go very loud. You have a built-in volume on the headset and of course a volume from your source, such as computer or phone.
Sometimes both are the same and controlled by the headset, but this headset keeps them separate (which I like), but the max volume isn’t very loud. It also depends on what application is using the sound, but I basically have my PC and Headset volume set normally to 90% or higher just to get good sound.
Don’t get me wrong, some apps such as iTunes music plays it loudly but COD, youtube, and a few other sources I have to have at least 90%. Then comes sound quality. I would give it like 6 out 10. The sound seems more average to medium quality.
The spatial sound option, which I’ve enabled in the Windows settings, doesn’t seem very broad. Their GG software has a test sound for gaming and for spatial sound and it just didn’t sound very clear on the different sound locations.
In a nutshell, I had higher expectations for the headset sound quality but am impressed with the dual audio stream and retractable mic. The fact that you can be gaming one minute, then retract the mic and start playing music on your phone to turn it into a regular headset is pretty awesome.
The volume issue may be able to be resolved with firmware or software updates, but maybe its only an issue to me. I just like the option to have solid sound without going to 100% volume. Their software is pretty useful with lots of options even for other headsets.
It’s a good headset, but I think if they are able to improve the sound quality and volume limitation, it would be a great one.
There are a few things to consider when looking for the best gaming headset for PS4 under 100. First, it is important to consider the type of games you will be playing. If you are looking for a headset to play first person shooters, then you will want to look for a headset with surround sound.
Second, you need to decide how important comfort is to you. If you are going to be wearing your headset for long periods of time, then you will want to make sure it is comfortable. Third, you need to decide what kind of features you are looking for in a headset.
If you want a headset with a microphone so you can chat with friends while you play, then you will want to look for a headset with that feature. Lastly, you need to decide if you want a wired or wireless headset.
If you are looking for a headset to use while you are traveling, then you will want to look for a wireless headset.
