Best Games With Steam Controller (2024 Updated)

Ive been using this controller exclusively with my switch for almost a month now, and to say the truth, I love it. Its well built, it doesn’t feel flimsy, plus its about the right size as an actual SNES controller (its a bit thicker, and a tad heftier on account of the added components – analogs, vibration, motion controls, bluetooth, extra buttons), but it does the job well.

This controller always syncs right up with my switch, and has a home button as well as a working capture button. However, it cannot wake the console up. Im not sure if this is due to the fact that its a third party device, or if there is some missing update, but i think thats the only flaw.

Now, mind you, im not a hard core gamer and I bought this because I enjoy retro gaming, and love the way it looks (plus the cheaper price point helped!). The battery has excellent life; I think it took around a week of playing for it to finally give out after the original charge I gave it.

It has some cons tho, the smaller size will cramp your hands after extended play (or at least they do mine), but by extended i mean over 3 hours, which is not usual for me. The motion controls seem on point, i tested them mainly on Zelda BOTW, and the analogs are precise enough, the vibration is NOT HD rumble.

Its a regular vibration like you would find on an xbox or playstation controller, but thats fine by me. It also does NOT have NFC, but really if you have a switch, the joycons already have NFC so this shouldnt be a real sticking point.

It includes a USB-C to A charge cable thats rated USB 2. 0. I would not recommend using it to charge your switch or to hook up your switch to your PC (as the switch wont recognize the cable properly), I left mine hooked up to my dock and use it strictly for charging the controller as it was intended.

I think the biggest pro for me on this controller is its size. It makes it very portable, and I can easily pop it into one of the pockets in my backpack with no bulging issues. It wont fit in my switch carry case, but i think thats also due to the fact that my carry case is quite compact (it barely fits the wrist straps and a USB-C cable.

All in all, I do highly recommend this controller. It is specially good for retro gaming, but will play well with most game types, and its much cheaper than the Switch Pro controller.

Using this with a RetroPie setup. It is pretty awesome with NES, SNES, PC Engine, etc. as the “trigger” is not required. Works, but not well, with N64. The location of the trigger at the end of the shoulder button is a bit awkward.

The controller feels solid and works great. The analog sticks are a bit on the small side but work great. 8BitDo seems to be about on the same level as Buffalo controllers. Definitely worth spending more to get a good emulation controller.

Pros: The shipping was very fast, got it after 7 days The controller is very well-designed, sturdy and solid. Very comfortable to hold, can play game for hours (I have a small hand btw). Almost all buttons are clicking and snapping, very responsive.

The connection is good. No lag or disconnection so far (only try with my laptop and android phone). There are some works you have to do at first when having the controller is update the firmware,but it is very easy, and 8bitdo also has instruction on YouTube.

It was not bother me that much. The cons: The D-pad. It sucks that the controller’s D-pad is not good even thought everything is amazing. You have to press harder to move your character certain way. So it may not be the best choice to play retro game or fighting games that involve playing the D-pad alot.

My hand get tired very easily when trying pressing the D-pad. The way to connect with different device. You have to remember every button you need to press for connecting with certain device (e. g. phone: START + B).

So if you have multiple device, you have to remember all the patterns. But it is just a little nip pick. It did not bother me that much. And there is an instruction to connect every device at the back of controller.

Overall, very good controller. I would recommend for everyone that love the old-school retro style controller.

The controller is lightweight but it doesn’t feel cheaply made either. It worked out of the box with all the games I have tested it yet. I’m not a fan of battery powered devices so this controller is ideal as it still comes with a cable (as opposed to the more recent F710), which at the length of 6 feet, is a pretty reasonable length for a PC controller.

The only complaint I have is that I would have liked the overall controller to be a little smaller as I feel like it stretches my hands when playing games that require the use of the trigger buttons and joysticks at the same time.

Although as I rarely play on Playstation and XBox, I can’t really say if the size is comparable to their controllers or if my hands are just smaller than average. If I compare it to my old Wingman Rumblepad, they are almost the exact same size.

So take this complaint with a grain of salt. As it is the case for pretty much everything I have bought from Logitech throughout the years, it seems like a quality product that will last many years. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another one if this one breaks for some reason.

Works pretty decent for my PC games. The gamepad’s look is dated but it still looks brand new from its package. The buttons work well, and the joysticks are stable. The D-pad is also decent, although it kinda wiggles.

Not a big fan of the LB & RB buttons being lower than the XYAB buttons compared to the other PC controllers I bought this year. The triggers feel dated but it does get the job done when I’m racing. The Mode button is a bit too close to the D-pad and joysticks and it can be easily pressed by accident.

The package this gamepad comes with is a pain in the butt and takes longer to *carefully* open than my other PC controllers and its straightforward boxes. Overall, I recommend getting this gamepad when it’s on sale, like Cyber Monday, because it’s frankly an older controller, much older than my main PC/Xbox One controllers.

It can be a backup controller for PC gamers like me.

my initial reaction on holding this controller was: huh, seems a little light, even for a wired controller (probably due to a lack of rumble features). but after using it for a couple of weeks, i can say it is a very good deal.

solid construction, and the buttons are very responsive. the abxy markings are, unlike most controllers, not painted on or recessed into the surface of the buttons, but molded into the inside of the translucent surfaces, so they won’t be rubbing off or filling up with finger crud.

the sticks travel smoothly and easily, but center strongly. though the stick clicks seem a little too stiff, this ensures fewer accidental clicks during intense play. for retro gamers, the xinput/directinput switch on the back is a godsend.

finally, the d-pad is the most comfortable and responsive i have ever used, hands down. in fact, the only thing bad i have to say about it is the position of the mode button. it is a feature which baffles me, as it swaps the mapping of the d-pad and left stick on the fly, but i’m sure someone would have a use for it.

unfortunately, it’s position under the back button makes it far too easy to hit by accident, and i feel it would have been far better situated centered underneath the logitech button. in sum, it doesn’t look super sleek sitting on your entertainment center or coffee table, and it doesn’t have the heft of most controllers, but it’s a great product at an even better price.

I own the wired USB version and this version and find the bluetooth version to be problematic. The Direction pads, buttons and triggers all work as advertised. This is a great SNES style controller and I had no difficulty using it with Steam and Emulation.

My problem is there is not a reliable way to turn the device on, you must use the same button that initiates bluetooth connection. After you are done using the device, it will stay on until the battery dies.

I find I have to delete the item from my computer after use if I intend to reconnect later which mean the device will occasionally go into Bluetooth connection mode. This is frustrating and just rediculous.

For around the same price, I can buy a PS4 or Xbox controller without these problems. And for much less, I can buy a 15′ USB cable to use my wired controller with none of these problems. If you want a better experience, I recommend the wired controller and make accomodations.

I really like the look and feel of this controller. Especially for playing the retro SNES and NES games on Nintendo switch online. My only complaint about this control is that it has an old USB plug.

I wish it had usb C. I like to plug in my controls directly to my switch to play in table top mode and I have to carry an adapter to plug this directly to my switch. It’ll connect to the dock but I don’t use it for that.

Other than that, this control feels great. The joysticks feel like PlayStation joysticks, the dpad is very nice and responsive and so are the buttons. All in all, I think this control is an excellent value.

If you want a wired control at a great price than I recommend this to you.

The DPad has been a staple of Nintendo’s for a while now,and this controller really embraces the legacy. It pairs easily, and is very responsive. The build quality is excellent, and you’ll be glad to learn that it has concave and convex buttons just like the original SNES controller.

Only issue I’d have is the manufacturer warranty and support, but the controller itself is stable and very high quality. I would recommend purchasing protection just in case, however. Comes with USB-C and is compatible with everything through wire and Bluetooth.

The grip may feel weird to some, but for kids who grew up with the dogbone it’s easy to use, and for someone like me who didn’t grow up with the odd shape i found adapting to it very easy as well, definitely better than adapting to a wiimote, joycon, or even a mobile phone.

All in all, it’s a very quality controller and I would recommend at it’s price point for anyone who plays 2D games that utilize the Dpad, or anyone who enjoys the PlayStation stick symmetry. Not the best for games that require more precise 3D inputs like shooters, as the analog sticks are only slightly larger than those on the joycons, but if you’re on the market and play a lot of SNES games or fighters, it’s definitely a good controller to have.

Portability is a plus too, as it’s tiny size makes it the perfect on the go controller.

Oh wow Microsoft has learned, from its once bulky Xbox 360 controllers. The black Xbox One wireless controller fits in your hand easily, and allows far more fun with video games. Thank you Bill Gates and team! First off I love the X buttons position, as this allows for remote turning on, without interfering with the joystick or buttons.

Yes the usual buttons are the same. Yet their build quality, feels far more substantial. I’m not worried about breaking these, and considering what they’ve been handed during Madden and other games, impressive! The yellow y, the orange b, the green a, and blue X are in the circle on the right side.

I like the RB/RT and LB/LT buttons being on the top. That makes gaming a cinch. Far more intuitive. These wireless devices connect every single time. They also have a range of at least twenty feet. As for the batteries, Xbox has improved big time.

No longer will you want rechargeable batteries, which by themselves are a headache. Instead any brand of AA batteries will be fine. I’ve had Rayovac’s from the dollar store in for several weeks now. You will get a low battery warning, but it still hasn’t happened.

By far the best controller in the market, as I wasn’t that impressed with my friends elite I believe they are called. Sticking with this one, as it’s a winner in every way. Responsive and fun!.

I don’t own an Xbox, but I do play PC games from Steam on a Windows 10 PC from time to time. I’m not really a dedicated gamer, so I pretty much need a console style controller. Fortunately, Microsoft makes their Xbox controllers compatible with Windows 10.

I purchased this new model primarily because the older version I had with a micro-USB connection was unreliable – coming loose at inopportune times and finicky when plugging in. That was the only flaw of the previous model, but it was worth an upgrade for me.

Other noticeable differences are the textured grips (slight if unnecessary improvement), a newly styled D-pad (I find no difference), slightly different contour on the top (cosmetic only), and a Share button.

As far as I can tell the Share button serves no purpose for Windows 10 (it appears to be an Xbox feature only, at least for now). I had questions upon ordering this updated controller; after a few hours of play, here are the answers: Yes, this controller is compatible with the Microsoft Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 and all of its features.

Yes, the original Xbox One Play and Charge Kit works with this newer model controller, as do the cheaper 3rd party alternatives. The micro-USB cable that originally came with these kits will not be compatible, so useany USB-C cable you have.

There does not appear to be an available USB-C cable that has a charge indicating light to work with these play & charge kits. Yes, there is a way to determine the controller’s battery level when using on a PC.

With the controller connected to the PC, open the Xbox Accessories app/program (free from the Microsoft store) and find the battery level there. It must be connected wirelessly to read the battery level; it will just say “Plugged in” if using the cable.

Yes, all previous peripherals (except for micro-USB cables) seem to work perfectly with this new controller. And finally, yes, the USB-C connection is wonderful. It’s easy to connect, stable, and responsive.

I like the fact that there is no indicator LED as I often play in the dark.

To start off, this controller is beautiful, and a little hard to find. I already have the phantom white version and love it. My issue is to do with Walmart/GPD and the way this product was marketed as “New.

” This controller came to me in a brown box, wrapped in (big) bubble wrap. No original box, so my best guess is this is technically “open box” or previously bought and returned/rejected. It came with a few minor scuffs, and some of the pieces/panels don’t line up quite right, but these are minor issues with the controller that may adjust with use.

I specifically paid more to avoid the used/opened, but that’s what I got anyways. This price should be marked down. If I was gonna end up with a brown box, I probably would’ve ordered it elsewhere.

Buying a steam controller in 2021 isn’t cheap. Valve no longer makes it and sold out the last of their stock years ago. It’s also not a replacement for a gamepad, although it does work as one. No, it’s actually a replacement for mouse and keyboard! There is a learning curve to it, but once you overcome that it is ideal for things like couch gaming on your PC, or to spare yourself the pain of carpal tunnel.

I bought this new to replace my old steam controller after failing to repair it myself. It is very durable and should last for years, but I already had it for years. If buying it for the first time, buy a used one and be prepared to spend a lot of time getting used to it.

If you don’t want it for emulating a mouse (which is what it is best at) save your money, there are cheaper options. But if you do want it for that, you have to commit to it. Play a wide range of games and spend time in each to master it.

And most importantly, it works best when you create your own custom configuration. There are usually a lot of uploaded configs to give you a starting point, but you’ll find yourself tweaking them to get the best use out of it.

The Steam controller is the only one I’ve ever liked. I didn’t like it at first because it’s a pain to learn how to configure. There are so many options. But now that I know how to set it up, I have zero interest in using any other controller.

I especially like the gyro functionality. It makes playing shooter style games very natural. Is it as precise as a mouse? No. But it’s far superior to regular thumb stick type controllers. My wrists just can’t handle all that time with the mouse so I need a controller to cut back on the strain.

If you just want a plug and play controller that you won’t need to configure or tweak, this is not for you. If you like having a controller with an absurdly complex configuration utility and more options than you will likely ever use, this is definitely for you.

The Steam Link works incredibly well. I usually can’t notice any lag in my setup (Link connected to router by cable; desktop PC connected via 5G Wi-Fi), but once in a blue moon (say, every hour or so) the screen freezes for a few seconds while the host is still running.

Definitely recommended for anyone aiming to game from the couch and willing to accept a 1080p, 60 Hz cap. It came with a handy quick-setup guide, but the procedure is very straightforward and it was running in a minute.

It is also very convenient to be able to get out of Big Picture mode and remotely navigate through my PC, opening apps like Netflix without having to switch my TV input. The Steam Controller is a great tool to bring your Steam library to the living room.

It is an unusual controller, but it was developed to and succeeds in being a device that works for both gamepad-oriented games as well as keyboard-and-mouse ones. The amount of configuration that thing accepts is truly amazing.

It feels well-built and was much heavier than I expected. The trackpads have a weird texture, though, and clicking them feels a bit unnatural. Maybe they’re the one part of the device which doesn’t feel so well-built, which is a shame, considering how important and powerful they are.

Thankfully, haptic feedback and customization options improve the experience. Moreover, it has more buttons than other controllers, which is a big plus, especially for playing keyboard-and-mouse-oriented games.

Overall, a great foray of Valve into this kind of hardware. Newer and better generations of the Steam Controller should come about, but this first one already feels like a good product not only for early-adopters, but the general Steam public.

I’m a controller collector who has a massive and diverse collection of regular and sometimes downright weird controllers, like the Sidewinder Dual Strike, the ASCII Sphere, the Micomsoft XE-1AP, just to name a few.

Retro and new. The Steam controller gets a bad rap for being convoluted and complicated to set up, or not working well with all games. Well, like a lot of the aforementioned controllers, it works well for what is designed to, not to replace everything.

For example, the XE-1AP works well and it’s excellent for playing After Burner or such shooters, but you won’t be able to play Sonic comfortably, or at all with it. The same goes for the Steam controller.

Some guy makes a video review of the controller after playing with it for five minutes and gives it 1 star. You need to invest a little more time in it and find the right games. Watch an in-depth review, search for the right games to play with it and keep an open mind.

Then you will enjoy the Steam controller. Personally, for first-person shooters, I enjoy using the Hori TAC Pro G1, the one that a half PS4 controller and half mouse. I watched some reviews of it and people didn’t even know what some of the buttons did, for example, adjust mouse sensitivity, which was the cause of some of the few complaints.

So yeah, watch some tutorials and be experimental. I’m pretty sure that Valve could have made a standard controller if they wanted to. What’s the point? Plenty of those around. So I appreciate them taking risks to bring forth some exciting innovations.

I used Dead Island to test it because I’m familiar with the game’s mechanics and controls very well. I just did a quick setup on Steam and it worked really well. The touchpad is great and worked very well, as did everything else.

I also like how they went with regular batteries and not internal, as those are a lot easier to replace than internal ones. All in all, a great controller for its purposes and I had no complaints about it.

I don’t think it feels cheap, it feels light, that’s all. In short, if you want a controller that is a jack of all trades to use on everything, stick with Xbox One, PS4 and the like. If you want the precision of a mouse but the versatility of a thumbstick, I recommend the Hori TAC G1.

If you want something that is in between those two without resorting to any mouse setup, the Steam controller might be the one for you. Get it with the dongle to avoid any setup nightmares, if you can.

The Steam Controller is a GREAT controller if you understand it. The main thing to remember is that it relies on configuration profiles you download from the Steam store or that you create yourself. This is the key to getting comfortable with this controller.

The basic profiles may work but the user customized ones may suit you best. After looking at a few videos on YouTube I realized how awesome and configurable it is. It just takes time to learn. Think of it as like a middle ground between a regular controller (Xbox or Playstation) and the Keyboard/Mouse combo.

It is not simple to use initially but has great flexibility and support through Steam. Even games outside of Steam can leverage it if you import them to the Steam launcher. In all I would highly recommend this controller for any PC game if you find the limited buttons on regular controllers not sufficient for your playstyle.

Just be sure to take the time with it and customize the profiles if they don’t quite fit your needs.

One of my all time favourite controllers. There are some annoyances, such as the rather convoluted software (big picture mode shenanigans. Very cumbersome and annoying) and the fact I’ve had one break due to the bumper snapping, but!There’s so much wonderful customisation, it makes for great tactile experiences.

It also just feels great.

This game is, in my opinion, the best game in the Mario and Sonic series. The amazing graphics and sweet music make this game’s presentation a great one. The game play, like all of the other Mario and Sonic games, consists of one-to-four players going head-to-head against each other or the computer in multiple olympic-based mini-games(i.

e. 100m, soccer, boxing, volleyball, etc. ) You can also face your friends in tournaments or a special game mode called Heroes Showdown. It all makes for some fun game play. The game is pretty expensive because of its relative rarity; but if you are a hardcore fan of the olympics or the Mario and Sonic series, I believe this game is worth the money.

I would recommend it to anyone who owns a Wii U.

If you’re a huge M&S fan. You’ll enjoy this game. It’s not as many Olympic events as the previous ones. I believe it only has 14 events. But it’s still a great game nonetheless. It was produced by Nintendo.

Usually Sega produces the M&S games. That could be why it’s lacking in a lot of events. The game was discontinued. Even in the eShop it’s unavailable. You can only buy a physical copy of the game. I was able to snag one up for $19.

99 brand new. It’s worth it. If you can find it at a decent price. I highly recommend you pick yourself up a copy.

These games are okay, not my favorite. I have this for both my DS and my Wii and i definitely enjoy playing on my Wii more. I play maybe once a week if that because it’s new but its not much fun. This is a game that is more fun when playing with others rather than yourself.

Good game because you cannot go wrong with both mario and sonic.

A Hori Mini pad but a bit bigger, and a lot cheaper? This sounded perfect! Unfortunately, it’s not quite the Hori killer I had hoped for. What it comes down to is that this controller feels kind of cheap.

Compared to a Hori Mini: – The slightly larger size feels good! This is the biggest compliment I would give it, as the slight size increase helps with ergonomics a lot. – It feels lighter and flimsier.

Overall build quality leaves a lot to be desired – All the buttons feel worse- they have more throw and almost a clicky feeling to them, but like a plastic mashing plastic feeling. Not too troublesome if you’re not comparing back and forth between a 1st-party controller or a Hori Mini I guess.

– The stick is shorter than the Hori Mini’s and springs back to center less quickly. The Hori Mini’s stick is unique but I really like it- it comes closer to feeling like an updated version of the original N64 stick than this does.

An N64 stick in good condition has a very satisfying snap back to center that just isn’t there on this controller. From my testing the stick does have adequate range and functions properly though, unlike a lot of 3rd-party N64 controllers.

– The D-Pad is just about as bad as the Hori Mini’s, but so few N64 games use it it’s not worth worrying about(if you’re playing Kirby 64 or Pokemon Puzzle League you should be using the standard controller anyway) This would be 3 stars if Hori Mini controllers hadn’t skyrocketed in price, mainly because it feels kind of cheap.

As it stands, this is close enough for those who want to save quite a lot of money, and looks good because of how many god-awful 3rd party controllers there are for the N64 that don’t even function correctly.

I would have paid $10 more for a higher quality version of this that could have been a true Hori Mini replacement, but that’s not really Retro-bit’s market I guess. This will be my player 2 controller instead (player 3 if I can ever get the parts to fix my original controller’s stick).

When it was released in Japan, the Nintendo 64 Horipad Controller became one of the best and most beloved third-party controllers in the world. So much so I even looked them up on EBay and. yikes the pricing kept me from getting one.

Cut to Retro-bit. They released their own version of the Horipad called the Tribute 64 and after seeing many reviews opted to buy all three color versions which came today. And after some tryouts with some games and having fun, I want to talk about these controllers.

First the boxing itself, I really like the boxes they came in, they’re durable plastic and well designed. When I’m done, I may put them back in for display, they are that good looking. The cords are also 10ft in length so a fair amount between my Nintendo 64 and futon.

Now for the layout. You ever see the Horipad, it’s the same, but some slight differences in size. The top buttons aren’t labeled but the Z buttons are on the back. Now I have heard some of these top buttons had dead spaces but I tried this out on Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon and haven’t encountered anything like that.

Also while being a completely different form of the original 64 controllers, it still gives off a sort of classic vibe. Now to truly test this out, I tested this controller on 4 games, Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon, Resident Evil 2, Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, and easily one of my all time favorites, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

Now I started off with Mystical Ninja and after doing some platforming the controllers responded very well and made it all the way to the first giant robot battle. The aiming was just slightly more sensitive than what I’m used to but I had no trouble beating him and saved right there.

The only other trouble I had was I didn’t want to stop playing but I had more tests I needed to do. Now one thing I had some concern with was the D-pad being in the middle and close to the other buttons.

However my thumb got to it just fine but to give it the ultimate test I tried to play some Resident Evil 2. And that’s where some trouble with the D-pad arose. Due to the layout I had a lot of difficulty controlling Claire (BTW, she’s like my 2nd all time favorite female video game character 1st if you count playable, my number 1 is Zelda) and ran into zombies a lot.

Restarting with the analog, I was able to avoid the zombies and make it to the gun shop. So in Resident Evil2, the D-pad failed me miserably but the game can still be played very well with the analog.

Not giving up so easily on this controller though, I played me some Kirby 64 and fought the final boss. Unlike RE2, the fight went well, only getting hurt once which was more my fault than the controller and I beat him with no trouble, so the controller still works well for 2d gaming at least but not tank controls.

Finally I decided to test out aiming accuracy with OoT. When I was able to stun Ganondorf via Dead Man’s Volley, I naturally used the light arrows. The aiming was just slightly more sensitive than the original controller but I still had no trouble with Ganondorf just having to slowly move my analog and I beat him with no damage.

So the aiming was no big problem. The only true problem I have with this controller is that it only come in 3 colors when the N64 is capable of 4 controllers. I’d like a fourth color to come out, maybe gray as that the original color for the controllers.

Overall I can easily say these are very very good controllers and upgrades compared to the original controllers. The analog is comfortable, it fits well in your hands the D-Pad is accessible and I can easily see these as worthy successors to the Horipad and must owns for Nintendo 64 fans.

I’m not that good with out of 10 rating scales but if I had to make my choice, a solid 8 out of 10.

Ever since Retrobit revealed this controller , I wanted one these controllers try for myself. For those who are not aware, the Retro Bit Tribute 64’s design derived from the one most rare and legendary 3rd party controllers for the N64, the Hori Pad 64.

The Tribute 64 is intended to provide a cheaper alternative to the Hori Pad 64, and the recently released Retro Fighters Brawler 64. This controller isn’t perfect, but I layout the pros and cons. Pros: The stick has very little dead zone, and feel almost like the original Hori sticks.

It has sturdy build quality, the buttons do not feel cheap. The D-pad feels really good and fairly tactile, and is a lot better than the mushy D pads on Nintendo’s first party controllers. Has support for Rumble Paks and Memory Paks.

This controller is a great cheap alternative to the the OEM N64 controller for people who are not happy with its unusual layout. The 25 dollar Tribute 64 is good deal for a experience that would have set you back 80 to 100 dollars for the original Hori Pad.

Cons: The Joysticks are very sensitive with its miniscule dead zone and requires accurate inputs for up and down inputs. In order for up input to register you have to push exactly up, other wise it will not register for a game like Super Smash Bros.

There is no support for Transfer Paks for the Tribute 64, which isn’t unusual for 3rd party controllers like the Retro Fighters Brawler 64. This is the best modern N64 controller you can buy despite it minor drawbacks, the Retro Fighters Brawler cost about 40 dollars and up and offers a different experience, but Retrobit Tribute 64 offers a better design material quality and value over the Retro Fighters Brawler 64.

Honestly I love the PlayStation controllers. They’re comfortable and only get better with each upgrade (been using since the OG PlayStation, still amazed we went from wired to wireless) The thing is, these controllers and consoles are so old now, even if you buy a new controller, it’s been on the shelf for so long they’re starting to glitch or have problems.

I’m not sure if it’s just me or my partner as he is kinda rough on controllers. The grip on the joystick part of the controller always rips off and they start to glitch as well. This is a main reason I would recommend to of course now get the ps5 as they’re new and I’ve heard the controllers are much better.

Still 4 stars cuz they’ve been amazing up until about a year or 2 ago. Like apple, when a new generation product is released the old ones start to crash, same with Sony.

I hope I can return this. The vendor must have pull this out of the garbage can and shipped it. Besides being worn out it is super dirty and sticky. Dirt falling off of it has I am holding it in my hand trying to avoid touching the sticky glue that’s on the back of it.

The left stick/L3 button was broken on the one that I had so I purchased this one thru Walmart which in turn shipped from Retro vGames. I’m not even going to try to use it. If Walmart doesn’t allow me to return it then I just take the $46.

am not here to say that all other controllers terrible and only the genuine PS3 controller is the best. For companies that invest the time effort and money in making a truly awesome PS3 compatible controller the true die hard gamers respond by buying what they sell.

Unfortunately cheap PS3 controllers are out here that barely work at all on PS3 systems. Other cheap PS3 like controllers work for a while then break. No use throwing good money away on a crappy second rate PS3 controller that will likely fail soon after you get it.

Sometimes a cheap item is cheap for a good reason, it lacks proven performance, quality and or it will not last. I’m no video gamer since the only level I play is casual with the exception of Mass Effect the original one.

However even I know that when playing video games even the best gamer is only as good as his equipment. I am not the best video gamer not even close but, having a Genuine PS3 Dual Shock controller does give me just enough of an edge to play and win some video games.

I wear out quality dual shock controllers to the tune of 2 every two years so thats about $80. 00 for new controllers every two years. Not much when you consider a newly released game is $60. 00. I have never gotten a bad PS3 Dual Shock controller but I have one humdinger of a lame controller from some other no name company given to me as a gift.

Its pretty it lights up and its crap if you try to play PS3 games with it.

I bought this during a sale despite not really enjoying shooters & not having played this studio’s other games. I enjoyed it! Your primary mode of combat is still a gun, but aiming is very easy, ammo recharges automatically, and you gain many psychic abilities to complement the gunplay.

These factors made me enjoy combat a lot more than I do in other shooters. Difficulty is still a bit on the hard side, but most of the game’s bosses are optional, which allows you to skip most fights if you’re really struggling.

The setting of “paranormal FBI” has a lot of thought put into it, and the game is full of creative lore and even live-action video clips. These were a highlight for me–all the videos were creative or just laugh-out-loud funny.

I think the story falls a little flat after the premise is introduced. For a game about alternate dimensions and the unknowable forces beyond out world, it really only has “spooky office” and a couple “abstract Mario Galaxy”-type environments up its sleeve.

I’m all for playing as a powerful woman in my games, but Jesse has kind of a snide attitude which wore out its welcome by the end. In all I found this a satisfying gameplay experience and a mostly interesting, creative premise.

Best of all, it’s over in a tidy 20-30 hours, so you can dive into the DLC or move on to something else–rare in games these days!.

I would have liked for the narrative to be a bit more cohesive and fully deliver on the premise with more clarity. The story line is abstract and doesn’t have a linear flow that you can follow so that feeling of, “what’s going on,” never really goes away.

However, the game play and concept is so innovative and awesome it makes up for the shortcomings in narrative for the most part. It’s challenging, thought provoking and really fun to play.

Control is a great game. I would not call this a AAA game, but it is definitely a AA game. This is not a criticism, but the honest truth for the scope of it. Gaming needs more AA games that are complete experiences.

The story is pretty interesting, and Jesse manages to be a good vessel for the player. Side characters rarely standout, but they are not suppose to over shadow. Game play is really strong yet nothing special.

I died probably about 10 times in total. Most all of these were to one enemy type that is nearly impossible to track because it is invisible. Powers are fun and exciting. With fun powers, it makes up for the lack luster weapon design.

I got the platinum for this game, and I would do it once more. Solid 8/10 Pros – Jesse – Powers – Boss Fights – Labyrinth Cons – Guns – Invisible Enemy – Hidden Areas – Not enough outfits for Jesse.

I absolutely love this controller. It looks and feels IDENTICAL to my real Saturn controller from the 90s. The d-pad looks like it might have a super slight difference in the molding (the little diagonal arrows might be a slightly different size?) but it might just be that my other controller is worn down.

Everything else about it is literally identical – button feel, size, texture, and even the colors are an exact match. I know I shouldn’t be so surprised by this, but I still can’t believe it exists in the capacity it does.

If you need a Saturn gamepad for your PC, this is almost certainly the most authentic thing of its kind you’re ever going to find. There’s something truly awe-inspiring about being able to play these games with the intended controller instead of, say, an Xbox controller or a Dualshock 4.

It completely changes the experience on a foundational level. The improvement in the experience you will have playing games with it is IMMEDIATELY noticeable, and absolutely essential for Saturn enthusiasts.

I saw someone complain about the cable on this being too long, and I honestly can’t wrap my head around that. The fact that it’s ~10ft long is a genius move in my opinion. If you like playing your games on a couch, you’ll be EXTREMELY grateful for it.

Cannot tell you how many times had to buy extension cables for controllers just because they didn’t have the necessary length for me to sit anywhere except at my desk. Like, man, just use a rubber band if it’s too long for your setup.

Come on. Hahaha. Anyway, I also just want to say I really adore the box design. They really went all-out on the “authenticity” factor here, even the box is near-identical to the original original North American packaging.

It’ll be on display in my living room pretty much indefinitely. Part of me can’t believe Sega gave them the license to make this an official product, but the controller is just SO good that I truly can’t help but feel gleeful about the partnership.

One thing I’d like to mention in case you ever have trouble getting it to register inputs with your games/programs/etc, I highly recommend that Windows users grab XOutput for converting the inputs from DirectInput to XInput, since most stuff tends to cooperate better with it that way.

It’s an issue with Windows & the apps themselves, though – totally not the fault of the controller itself. Retroarch thankfully doesn’t seem to have this issue, but as for SSF. well, all I have to say is “”.

Hehe. Also, the fact that this controller works not just with PC/Mac but also PS3, Switch and Genesis Miniis so awesome. Just a fantastic product.

I got this to use when playing retro games on my PC and so far it’s fantastic. It’s very comfortable and responsive. I have an original Sega Saturn controller I was able to compare it to and the feel is exactly the same.

Overall it’s very well made. The setup was very easy on Windows 10. The only issue I had was that the computer would no longer go into sleep mode when the controller was plugged in. However, that ended up being due to outdated GeForce software and once I updated that the problem was resolved.

I would recommend this to anyone who wants a great controller for playing retro or retro-style games on their computer.

Perfectly good controller! Cords a little long, so if youre using this with a PC a hair tie or rubber band is necessary. Its a great length if youre playing on a switch from a tv to a couch though! The controller itself also has a very sleek and premium feel to it, with the D-pad having the authentic Sega feel.

The product arrived as was designated; on time and quick. The set up was simple, and streaming is a breeze. I highly recommend using your modem or ethernet extender for optimal performance, but once you do so, your games should run smoothly.

I was surprised by the size, which is small, but the design is sleek and very cool. I don’t have a Steam controller, but you can use pretty much any controller, like a Switch Pro. However, you will need a wired controller of some sort to first-time setup the system.

I really needed a way of wirelessly displaying on my living room TV what’s on my PC’s screen. I had read I could do that with Steam Link. NOT. The product itself seems to be of very high quality and very well designed.

It’s just not what some reviews had suggested it was. It won’t work unless you plug a mouse or a keyboard to it so for me this is a deal breaker, thus I will not recommend it to anyone for that purpose.

Otherwise it features really everything you need to connect it to your TV, LAN and ANY power outlet in the world! Really nice package too.

Do excuse the ponderously-long game title. This game is a puzzle game with a beautifully-drawn, fully-developed personality. As you collect treasure chests with the help of a sea-rabbit named Maddy, you’ll get pieces of concept artwork, music and sound effect snippets, and video clips that are enjoyable to view and hear, and they also give insight into the massive effort that goes into creating a modern-day video game.

About the game itself: Truly a pleasure. When pieces of any given puzzle are solved, you receive HirameQ, the points by which your cunning and smarts are measured in the game. Many of the puzzles are quite challenging, but all are solveable.

If you find you can’t solve a puzzle, you may use an Oracle Doll to give you a hint, which are purchased from the Sea-rabbit pirate central, from a character named Granny. I used one, and I didn’t need to, but it was late and I wasn’t thinking real sharp.

I would recommend never using them. I did use platinum tickets, however, and quite a few, simply in the interest of time. A platinum ticket lets you have a do-over, so you don’t have to start the round from the beginning.

These are also purchased from Granny. You’ll come to love the characters in what is a truly great and inventive game. Where a game like Super Mario Galaxy is merely gimmicky (ah, but what gimmicks!), this game is ingenious.

Please buy it if only to support brilliant games.

I bought this game as it was reconmmened to me by a friend as I like point and click/adventure games. The story is interesting but a lot of the game does appear unoriginal, such as the “bad pirate” character is very much like LeChuck from the Monkey Island series (See Monkey Island 3/Curse of Monkey Island) It is a short game for hardcore gamers, especially those who play a lot of point and click games, and I would say casual gamers wouldn’t take very long to complete it either.

The Wii remote does get in the way of the gameplay and some of the actions required in the game become frustrating because of this. Overall the game has a good story and fun controls (most of the time).

It somehow didn’t grip me like other point and click games, and could have done with a bit more polishing I felt, but it was a pretty solid little game. Also if you are looking for a taxing puzzle game that takes you weeks to complete it isn’t really the game for you, but is a good game between games.

A real gem for the Wii. Definitely a must have for your collection. Great gameplay and loads of unlockables to keep you going back for more fun.

I needed a solid controller to replace one that stopped working randomly and this did the trick. It’s actually a really great value controller and I haven’t had any problems with the wireless on Windows 10 or with other Logitech products.

Be warned though that this controller kind of has a weird shape that some people will find uncomfortable, especially if you have small hands. If you have small hands you probably don’t want to bother with this one because you’ll just get cramps using it.

The edges of the controller are angled really sharply which makes the stretch to reach the sticks longer than on most other controllers. I can make it work but have to hold the controller a little weird to reach the triggers and sticks at the same time.

That said, if the shape of this controller was more flat (like a DS4 or Xbox controller) it would be a no brainer. The buttons all feel great (though the bottom triggers could be more clicky) and the texture of the controller is actually really nice.

It doesn’t work with all Steam games but it does work with most of them from my experience so far.

On the whole a decent controller. Slightly heavier than my original xbox 360 controller, and the stick placement is different. The ergonomics of the xbox 360 controller are slightly better in my opinion.

Build quality is OK – however the battery case cover tends to rattle a bit and the D-pad can rattle a little as well. The sticks are good but also seem to have a rather large dead band which makes precision movements more difficult.

There is textured plastic in places that make gripping the controller easier. The wireless works well enough although it can suffer a bit at range. Logitech provides an handy USB extension cable which I have used to position the dongle right underneath my desk and very close to the controller.

I’ve had no signal issues at all since doing this. I’ve found this controller to be especially good for Elden Ring. Overall a good buy.

After years of use and abuse, my F510’s left stick finishing came apart and now feels weird in the hand, so I decided to give wireless a go. Reading the multiple reviews stating problems with windows 10, I decided to give it a go and see what all the problems are, I am a systems admin by trade after all.

low and behold, I plugged in the nano receiver to a front usb, removed the battery sticker and the remote was up and playing madden 21 (yes, I know) within seconds. No problems with windows 10, shows right up under devices.

For some reason the logitech gaming software I use for my mouse doesn’t show this device AND the nano receiver for the mouse won’t pickup the controller, kind of makes the point of “universal” nano receivers a bust as I need them both plugged in to separate usb ports.

Now the one issue I had to tackle, the range. AWFUL! I am literally seated two feet away and at same height from my gaming pc box, with the receiver in the front and this thing lags, doesn’t recognize most double clicks and drops connection, that’s just piss poor.

I finally figured out what the usb wire extender was in the box for, lol. I ran the extender from the box, under my keyboard and directly in front of me with the nano receiver on it, now BAM remote is no longer laggy and behaves just like the F510, except heavier (rechargeable batteries help out alot here instead of the included duracells) and without the wires and with much weaker vibration.

For 30 bones you can’t go wrong here. –> awGuru. com Pros -> Wireless, no setup required, seems durable as always Cons -> Laggy if not setup as above, weak vibration compared to F510.

I have to admit, this game took me a few tries to get into. From the beginning, I wasn’t feeling it. But I kept hearing the reviews and recommendations and game of the year awards (although, those mean absolutely nothing nowadays *cough* *cough* Last of Us 2 *cough* *cough*) etc.

, etc. But once you start unlocking some powers, exploring some of the more weird areas and really get into the plot, it’ll hook you. The gameplay itself is amazing once you power up. You have all kinds of cool abilities and great control (batum tsssss).

The story is crazy and the graphics and sound are up there with the best. The Ultimate Edition also gives you a PS5 upgrade for free (although you just spent 40 bucks on a game you potentially already owned).

On PS5, this game gives you the choice of 30 frames per second with added ray-tracing, ambient occlusion and som other nerdy buzzwords that make it look that much better, or you can go with 60fps for buttery smooth gameplay but without most of the pretty stuff.

I personally like the graphics choice, but 60fps still looks very good, even without the ray-tracing (which is a technology that simulates how light bounces and reacts realistically, so usually meaning accurate reflective surfaces).

Great game. Must play.

This game’s story was right up my alley – very “X-Files”-esque feeling to the whole thing. I have enjoyed previous Remedy output, like “Max Payne”, “Alan Wake”, and “Quantum Break”; Control is definitely in the vein of the latter two of those.

Even better is getting the 2 DLCs with this package. Environments are gorgeous and unique, and gameplay is smooth with many special effects – but I must say I did play on the included free PS5 upgrade version only.

I have heard that the performance of the game leaves a lot to be desired on base PS4, so take that into consideration.

Pros: Looks good, sounds good apart from the random bugs where audio gets distorted from time to time Cons: The lack of Dev on the career mode is shocking. The company is only interested in making more money through in game purchases.

The career mode has barely improved over the years and in some ways has gone backwards. The game is jam packed full of bugs keeping in mind this was released over 6 months ago so definitely not worth 50 quid.

I won’t be spending anymore money on this series as EA have a long history of delivering poor products and seem to ignore the user base in terms of what needs fixed and how to improve the various game modes.

It doesn’t take long to master the higher difficulty settings, once you are there you can beat anyone fairly easily, however the game appears scripted at certain points, where you have gone on a 5 game win run, suddenly you are unable to beat a 2nd year team, amazing saves by the opposition GK, hitting the post more than once in an open goal with a top striker.

It seems the CPU intelligence had deteriorated from previous editions. If they can’t deliver a working product on release date they should be reducing the price by 75%, that view is based on the absolute mess the game is released in, and that’s not just last year’s edition.

Overall this game is a rip-off.

I was looking for a controller to use with pc games. This controller give the ability to utilize the mouse functions as well as typical controls similar/identical to game system controllers. I noted that many people rejected this game controller over the X Box controller or its counterparts.

While I have also used those types of controllers, and truth be known I was looking for something similar for use with my PC, I thought the concept of the Steam controller was worth looking into. Considering reviews favoring most other controllers over the Steam controller, pricing, warranty, etc.

I took my chance with the Steam controller. I am happy to report that this is a great controller. It may take some getting used to if you are accustomed to using the generic design offered by X-Box, PlayStation, etc.

But the ability to be able to thumb over the pad (similar to the touch pad on a laptop) to perform certain moves that typically require simultaneous button pressing on other units, was great. It was truly like having a mouse and regular controller, all in one.

I admit it’s been some time since I last played my PlayStation, so I wasn’t all bias about button styles. It was easy to go online and download a configuration for the many games that I use it with. Many players offer their configurations too.

Setting the unit up is fairly easy but can get complex, which is good as it allows you to be very specific to how the macros, sensitivity, effects, are set up. All in all, it’s a great controller. Better than a keyboard/mouse, more efficient and customizable than a typical console controller.

This is my second time playing this game. I played it when I was little and I still love it to this day. The game tackles complex psychology subjects through humor and fun gameplay. I love all the super powers you get and how each leveled is creative, stylized, and different from the next.

This is a fun adventure, best played by teens or above. There is alot of deeper meanings in the psychonauts world about dealing with loss, feeling worthless, being forgotten, being abandoned, and abuse.

There are very dark topics but the game keeps the mood funny.

A unique take on the point and click adventure formula. Requires a but more patience than many platformers due to its puzzle solving elements and some of the mechanics not working properly (very noticeable late in the game).

Regardless a game that should be experienced due to its atory, characters and visuals. Buy it digitally on ps4 or xbox for the HD.

This story/platformer game is so great! It follows a boy who runs away from his family to join a secret government psychic summer camp. In each level you go into the different minds of the people who are in the camp.

You see how each mind is shaped differently and affects their personality. Eventually you start going into the minds of psych patients. It was a very interesting kid friendly intro into mental health.

It is fun for all ages 10+.
