I absolutely have had a wonderful experience with these knives! I really like the finishing look of the stand. This set comes with 12 different knives, 1) 8″ chef knife 2) 5″ boning knife 3) 6: 4. 5″ steak knives 4) 8″ bread knife 5) 5″ utility knife 6) 5″ santoku knife 7) 3.

5″ paring knife and shears. These knives come to you very sharp, so be careful! I am not used to working with sharp knives as my last knife block, did not have a sharpener attached. I didn’t want to buy one to store some where, so its nice that this comes with it attached to the block and ready for use at all times.

The instructions say to use the knives for two weeks before you follow the sharpening routine and then sharpen every two weeks. These knives cut everything very easily. The instructions to sharpen knives were very easy to follow.

You have to make sure that when you are sharpening knives that you go all the way to the bottom of the sharpener, no matter how long the knife is. Bigger knives are inserted at the top and the smaller knives are inserted at the bottom of the opening.

Once in place, slide the lever all the way up and back all the way down 10 times, then carefully take the knife out, rinse and dry the knife thoroughly before storing. These knives need to be hand washed and never washed in the dishwasher.

Washing them in the dishwasher can decrease the quality of the knife, damage the blade edge and reduce the stainless steel integrity. I typically wash by hand and let air dry before storing but the instructions say to dry them thoroughly before storing to prevent watermarks and spotting.

The block is easy to clean as well with a thorough wipe down. The shears come apart for easy cleaning. There are also suction cups at the bottom of the base to keep the knife block in place. If you ever need to move the block, be sure to remove all the knives before doing so.

This comes with a “Quick Start Guide”, which gives you the sharpening instructions, sharpener tips and tricks, recommended knife usage, what’s in the box and cleaning& care. So far, I have been thoroughly impressed with this set and recommend this to those who are looking for a better knife experience.

I own and have been using that Ninja foodi never dull premium knife for a few weeks this is absolutely unique Lee perfect knife set. I love the technology, the durability, how it has a comfortable grip.

I love that it also has in this built in stone sharpening wheel for your knives but not for this shears. These knives when they cut they go through like butter. I love how each handle is very comfortable in your hand, I love the handle that it has the full Tang throughout the whole knife.

I also love that the sharpness. love every single knife has the Engraving and it says the name of the knife on everyone. I love the caddy which holds all of your knife set. The quality, that precision, the door ability is on point.

And when using the never dull Stone sharpening wheel it gives a perfect angle and implies the right amount of pressure on your blade they give you the super incredible sharpness that is needed for your blades.

I love that when you use the knife to cut the most delicate Foods cut through it like butter and it doesn’t Shred the meat or if using on vegetables like tomatoes it still keeps it round not givea it a smushy look.

The blades have a German stainless steel Rich’s rust resistant and very super strong. I love how it feels perfect and my hand does not slide off the handle while I’m cutting. And to wash your knives you doing by hands not in a dishwasher just to maintain the sharpness of your knives.

I would definitely absolutely 100% recommended. I had a friend of mine here to help cut up vegetables and meat and she loved how it felt how it cut how it looks and how everything is put away in one unit and she brought one for herself.

I have owned many knife sets throughout the year’s and can honestly say this is the best so far. The metal of the knife is full length all the way through the handle and the rivets securely hold the handles in place.

The signature colors of black and silver on the knifes and the base unit match other Ninja products that we have in our kitchen creating a pleasing color match. I have to honestly say I was disappointed with the addition of a knife sharpener in the storage unit, first impression – it is a gimmick.

It was hard to operate and I did not understand the science of how it works. After watching the online video and re-reading the instructions, watching the operation of the sharpening stone did I realize how it works.

You have to follow instructions and move the handle all the way up and all the way down, no stopping. The sharpening actions actually occurs on the downward stroke as you can see through the translucient window on the side.

It actually worked! The knifes are so sharp you really have to be carefull when cutting as a careless error can be awful. Would have been nice for the knife handles to have a little more texture for ease of gripping.

The sharpener is not a gimmick, really does work but does not replace a sharpening steel to get that really fine cutting edge. Gets my vote!.

Exactly as described. I cannot say anything about durability of keeping an edge except I have butchered probably 20 deer with it this fall and would sharpen them every 3 or 4 deer. Worked great. Two fillet knifes that are different sizes, both are pretty flexible and work well.

The only thing i would recommend is since it is called a field dressing kit would be to put a gut hook on one of the knives, and maybe a saw. But I use a reciprocating saw so works for me.

I am Happy I got the knife set. This is a great field dressing kit especially for the Butchers and Fish Cutters in my store. The only thing that bothered me was the item not showing it wasn’t in stock when I purchased and subsequently back ordered.

Happy that I finally got it paid extra for 2 day delivery and got it 10 days later. Was not happy with the extra money I spent and took so long to get. But I have used these knives in past and have 3-4 of them they are quality and hold a good edge.

I own quite a few of kitchen knives and take pride in high-quality kitchen utensils. My main knife is a Shun which is the yardstick against which I measure all other knives. And the simple truth is that the test of a good knife is how it handles variety of different textured food, but the Best of knives struggle on one simple food, tomatoes.

Right out of the box, these knives are super precise and cut through tomatoes with surgical precision. I cut a large tomato quite thin and then proceeded to a cut smaller cherry tomatoes into tiny pieces.

A standard knife struggles on the skin of the tomato but with enough pressure ultimately pushes through, these knives like all premier knives I have used, slice right through the skin and produce a crisp beautiful slice.

A comfortable handle is a pleasure to use, and after using either of the two knives for a considerable time. , It still feels ergonomic in the hand. I have cut fruits vegetables meats and I’m happy to say that these knives go toe to toe with my best knife.

The chef knife is an excellent primary knife or a great back up knife to keep for a secondary location. I personally have a second home and will be taking these knives to be used as my primary knives there.

Edge retention was impressive as well which is important because a lot of knives are sharp for a day or so but then go full very quickly. As with all knives I recommend using a honing rod frequently as this will help the knives maintain a nice edge.

This is just another excellent product from Ninja!!!.

They weren’t what I had expected when I took them out of the packaging but I quickly became a fan. Initially, I was impressed with their sharpness, the through tang and the balance of each blade (Chef & Santoku) but, I was not impressed with the finish of the blade.

While some of the details are not as refined as what I consider ‘premium’ blades to feature, they were clearly better than entry level kitchen knives and the price point was appropriate for what you get.

After a few uses and washes, the knives seem to have a better appearance. (I know this does not make sense, maybe I just got used to them. ) The contoured handle is easy to hold and orient the blade.

The knives serve their intended purpose well. The chef knife has a long blade that is great at slicing. I was able to cut thin pita bread into very long, thin slices with clean lines. The Santoku knife is great for shopping and has a curved blade that lets you rock chop on the cutting board.

The edge out of the package seemed a little rough but was very sharp. I could cut thin, even, translucent slices of tomato. It will be a while before I need to sharpen them. These are proven designs that work well in a kitchen setting.

They could be better refined; the alignment and finish could be tweaked; but you can be proud that this knife set is better than the average person uses.

Really great knife I enjoyed using them set of Ninja Foodi knives come extremely sharp. This set of knives included an 8″ Chef knife and a 5″ Santoku knife. The picture in the description of cutting tomatoes thin is true.

I was able to easily cut tomatoes super thin. The knives have some weight to them and seem very durable. They are well balanced, and you can easily let the weight and sharpness of knife do the cutting.

The knives have a classic and quality look to them. They are full-tang with the steel running the entire length and the handle a solid mat black with silver rivets. The knives have a quality feel to them.

I normally lean to Japanese steel knives, but I am impressed with the sharpness of these German steel knives. They cut every bit as thin and easily as my sharp VG-10 Japanese steel knives. We will see how long the sharpness lasts.

The knives are promoted as for the NeverDull system. But that would need the sharpening stand that you slide the knife in and out of. I do not have the NeverDull knife sharpener. But I do feel confident that I know how to sharpen a knife.

The NeverDull system is for ease of use and for someone who doesn’t know how to sharpen a knife or doesn’t want to sharpen knives. I personally like to sharpen my knives when needed. I expect the softer German steel will need sharpening more often than my Japanese knives.

But we will see how this premium German steel holds up. I am surprised that there isn’t a better way to package these knives. Most knives come in a box. These came in a plastic box on a plastic tray.

It didn’t seem like a good representation of the quality of knives that were delivered. i am satisfied so far with these knives. They seem like good quality knives.

I don’t get mush of a chance to use our new knives, how ever my Wonderfull Wife uses them every chance she gets. I asked her how she liked them and she said they were wonderful. just a side note to let you know how we came about to order our knives.

We are both in our 80’s and have never had real good knives to work with, they have always been selected on the basis of which is less costly. We feel that we have no real needs for any material things, however at Christmas time I suggested that we both contribute to a gift of one of you knives.

As it turned out this was one of our better decisions. Donna looks forward to using them on ever occasion, and for enjoys them to the extent of it being a lot simpler to cut things up, Thank You Ron Scott (Not Ron Ott).

Much sharper than the knives they were replacing. Had a set in a wooden block, which despite using a sharpener on them they struggled to cut anything, so bought this set from Kuhn Rikon. The knives are colourful, all have a protective cover (they do need them!) and are great at slicing through raw ingredients such as bacon or chicken.

I wouldn’t recommend these knives at all. It says on the packaging that they are dishwasher safe, but the paint comes off. I was cutting butter and saw several flecks of turquise paint on it, which I am sure wouldn’t have been safe to eat.

We have only had the knives since the summer.

I love this knife set. I sincerely believe these are the best knives I have used in processing my wild game. I bought this kit with a gift card I received for my birthday. I used the set to process my first Archery Wild Pig and Archery Deer harvests in Georgia.

I would never back a product or idea that I do not believe in. Every item in this set has proved its durability, usefulness and value. The word Jaeger is known to me as “hunter”, from the German language.

This set was designed and made for the most avid hunter. We process all our own harvests and I am impressed as a self-professed butcher.

This is a very sturdy set of tools. Very sharp and ergonomicly comfortable. Great deal for what we paid. Bought them to teach my son.

Just tried it two days ago. Took a bit to get the hang of it. Feel all and all will work fine. Good quality. At fair price.

Personally a novelty item,especially if you are not a seasoned meat cutter. Having said that it does work well personally it is easier to just remove silver skin with a knife providing your comfortable enough to do so.

Bought a couple of months ago. haven’t used on game but we bought a block of tenderloin beef and I used these knives to slice it into steaks. They were plenty sharp but I found them a bit small for the task.

Yeah I know that’s not what they’re for. They worked great for trimming the fat and cutting it into chunks. I followed others advice and sharpened them after each session. So far so good when on sale.

This is one great knife set containing everything you need for a quick and easy field dressing. Great case keeps everything together and keeps blades safe from accidental cuts during travel and staging.

Great price for so much quality cutlery. Easy to clean and sterilize after use.

The knives hold a good edge ( razor sharp with proper method ). I processed several deer and no problems. Very happy with the kit. The handles are nice. The rubber allows you to keep a good grip with the way there designed.

Very comfortable and slip resistant. Two reasons I gave it a 4 star and not a 5. First was the carbide sharpener. These are good if you don’t know how to sharpen a knife , or don’t mind how much they cut off when using them ( ceramic rods are my choice ).

The second reason is there is a little special care needed to keep these knives rust free (There made with 420 stainless ). There hand wash only , you need to dry them as soon as you wash them , do not let them air dry.

All in all its a good product though. You may have to buy a 5 dollar pocket sharpener and dry them but they will last and do the job nicely.

I have had this knife set now for a couple of years. They are very durable and they keep a nice edge. Will they get full. yes! All knives do especially when you hit some bone with these babies! Just today I skinned and deboned a deer and used multiple knives and had to get an edge only once on one of the knives.

Well worth the money!!.

Hopefully I get to put it to use during the hunting season. Overall, happy to have this set of knives in my hunting tools. I should do a quicker job and having all the knives to complete the job. All in one case and so much better than digging into my backpack.

What comes to mind when you first heard the name Zwilling? I’ve heard “the BMW of knives” or the “Hermes of knives” well the product lives up to every bit of its name. When you first unbox the knives, you jump with excitement, one that makes a little bit of pee drizzle out.

When you first touch the handle, it feels like you are first laying hands on the partner of your dreams, the excitement continues to build. You take a moment to pause and enjoy the beauty of the engineering.

The way the light reflects off the blades. You think about weather you want to even toss away it’s packaging, for you want to savor this first time you unpack the knives. You continue to Unwrap each knife slowly, as you don’t want this to end too quickly.

You pause again to read each word of the protected knife packaging – no matter that the language is in German and you don’t understand each word. Still you stand there and pretend to comprehend. You slide each knife slowly into its block, careful not to poke the wood too hard fearful of damaging each tip.

Even though these knives would be able to handle it. You take another moment to be in awe of its beauty, placed so magnificently on the counter. You start to imagine what kind of items you would use it for.

But that moment is too far away. You think to yourself, do you even want to use it and contaminate the steel. You start to daydream about a YouTube show and putting these knives on full display. Prepping for a 5 star Michelin restraint.

You get a little more excited. You stand there for several more minutes with your eyes glued to the knife block. The eyes drying up because you haven’t blinked. Not wanting to blink because you know that you must soon snap back to reality.

Suddenly, your phone rings. Its your mom calling you about the knives because you sent her a picture just moments ago. You answer as you snap out of your trance. You take the knives and put them in its forever spot on the counter and tell yourself you’ll save that next phase for another day.

It’s already too much excitement for the day.

I have had this set for about a month. This is my first set of real knives. I reached my 5 year milestone from my company and it was between this Zwilling Gourmet 7 piece set or a JA Henckels International 14 piece set.

Although I really wanted the JA Henckels, I decided to go with the Zwilling because it was made in Germany. I’ve done my reviews and ultimately I’d rather have the better quality vs more knives. They say the 2 main knives you’re going to use really are the chef’s knife and the pairing knife most of the time anyways.

I’ll eventually get some steak knives later but at least I can piece my set how I want. The main thing was getting the Zwilling German Chef’s knife. It is really sharp, well balanced, and very high quality.

The block is also very nice as well. The only reason I gave this set a 4 and not a 5 is because I would’ve wished for a Santoku knife instead of the bread knife and instead of the 3″ vegetable knife (it already came with a pairing knife), maybe a 5″ utility serrated knife.

Lastly, the shears are made from China and not Germany. All these are not deal breakers. Very happy with my set.

This knife set is a replacement for an old wooden handled Chicago Cutlery set. I wanted to use these knives before giving a review and one month into owning these knives I am pleased with their performance.

They are stamped and not forged knifes and therefore are lightweight in the hand and very easy to use. The handles are comfortable and easy to maintain. The blades are so sharp that prepping vegatables and fruits seem effortless.

The array of different knives in this collection will fit any kitchen need. I find cut vegges/fruits do have a tendency to stick to the surface of the chef knife as others have mentioned. It’s not a deal breaker for me but if I was using the knife in a professional setting it may be a nuisance.

The steak knives have no serration on the blades but are plenty sharp and cut meat well. I do handwash my knives and they are all looking splendid after a month of moderate use.

I’m into German knives. I like my Wusthof’s and wanted to give Zwilling Pro a go, picking up this 8″ Pro Chef knife along with a 9″ Zwilling Pro Bread knife. It’s definitely got a good edge from the forge and I can’t wait to see how sharp I can make it on my whetstones.

The handle is kinda massive, so it’s better for bigger hands, but I love how they shaped the spine leading into the handle and I adore the added heft. I can rock chop and push chop with ease and I don’t worry at all about cutting myself, I’m comfortable with this knife.

The only issues I do have with the knife are 2 fit and finish things. First, there’s a section of the handle that seems to be melted and either must’ve been improperly molded at the factory or something happened in shipping.

Second, there was a small knick in the blade edge which must’ve been from shipping or poor handling in the store. I got it pretty straightened out on my honing rod so no harm no foul. I’ll take care of it for good on my 1k grit stone.

I grew up using classic European style knives with slightly softer steels and edge angle of 22-24 degrees, They are solid as a rock but a bit heavy and require frequent use of a knife steel to realign the edge.

All the rage now are the thin, light, very nimble Japanese knives that have a very hard steel sharpened to 15 degrees. The edges do not roll like a softer steel would, so you do not use a knife steel to keep the edge aligned properly.

BUT, being such a hard steel, they can chip easily and can only be repaired by having it completely resharpened. Since the steel is hard and thin, the handle of the Japanese knives have to be smaller and lighter to keep the knife balanced properly.

To me, the Zwilling Pro combines the best of the European and Japanese knives. The Zwilling Pro has a very solid as a rock feel with a substantial, easy to grip handle like a European knife and a blade sharpened to 15 degrees like a Japanese knife but not being quite as hard, the edge can be repeatedly realigned with a sharpening steel like a European knife.

Overall, I find that the Zwilling Pro combines the best features of both European and Japanese style knives to make one that is solid as a rock, yet nimble to use. With over 50 years of cooking experience, the Zwilling Pro is a real winner in my book!.

I picked this up from the Zwilling representative at a Costco road show at well below the current price on the Zwilling website – which is a great deal already. I’m in awe of this set. First off – be careful! I’ve been using Zwilling for decades and regularly have them professionally sharpened.

However, these knives (ProS I believe) are so incredibly sharp, that I seriously use caution when using them. My first few uses, tomatoes, peppers, carrots, etc. were honestly like using a warm knife to slice butter.

Additionally, the look and feel of these knives is fantastic! I’m loving this set and the two new Pro paring knives I got from Zwilling. com.

Great pairing knife. Amazing to get quality VG10 steel for such an affordable price. The blade guard is really handy since it helps you carry it around safely. Get one with every order and give it to people you know who still have dull knives.

They will understand why you preach sharpness and Knifewear.

I recently purchased the Outdoor Edge Wild-Pair Knife Combo and was fortunate enough to take a whitetail doe the following morning. I realize that I had not purchased the top-of-the-line knives, so how often during the quartering of one animal should I expect to sharpen these particular knives? I was elated when using the gut hook (first knife with one) as it truly worked like unzipping the hide.

Unfortunately, the hook became dull to the point of unusable after about 16″. After that, I would pull with considerable effort to no avail. Thinking it may simply be bunched-up hide that would prevent simple cutting, I thoroughly cleaned out the hook and moved to an uncut, thin hide area around the neck.

Again, pulling with force only moved the animal and didn’t cut the hide. I set to work with the main blade of the Skinner and made decent progress for a while, but again was disheartened by how quickly it appeared to dull.

At this point, I was still working on skinning and hadn’t even begun to cut meat yet. I had to abandon the skinner all together after about 30-45 minutes. At which point I finished the job with a combination of the caping knife (which held up much better, but still did not hold an edge long enough to complete quartering the animal) and an old Uncle Henry knife that before now I had finished entire deer with.

Again, I realize these are $15 knives, I was just a bit disappointed since I had heard so many good things about the Outdoor Edge name. If it’s as simple as “bring a sharpener, you can expect to sharpen these particular knives 2-4 times per animal” I can understand that.

To a cursory inspection, they seem unblemished or anything else that may point to a manufacturing defect. I DO like the grips, quite comfortable.

I had doubts when I purchased these knives 3-4 years ago. I believe I got them on sale for $15. I live in Louisiana where we have a six deer limit. I usually fill most of my tags if not all and skin my wife’s and fathers deer for them.

I also kill and trap many wild hogs every year. I had always used more expensive knives to skin until I got these. Now there’s no need. I just sharpen these on my long Smith’s diamond rod thing (Which isn’t really sharpening them that well but it works WELL) and skin away until finished unless I have multiple animals.

I know without a doubt I’ve skinned close to if not 100 animals with these with no major problems and I don’t hold back because if they break or chip no biggie they were $15. I have put a small knick in the gut hook one cutting through tail once or twice but it sharpened right out.

Also still using the gut hook that I’ve never sharpened. I lost the case basically immediately because I didn’t need it. If I use a knife in the field it’s my pocket knife. So can’t say much about it.

I’ve had this set for several years, not sure if I got it at Cabela’s. they sharpen easily and hold an edge. I really like useing them even more than my more expensive blades. Only downside is these stainless blades rust.

They may use a better grade of steel now.

I have always wanted a craft knife set similar to this but never wanted to spend the higher price for the name brand since it wouldn’t be something that I would use that often. When I saw this set and the price I grabbed it ! At this point I have not used the knifes yet but the case is a total disappointment !! It’s very cheap quality and somewhat warped and the lid doesn’t even lock into position.

Hopefully the knifes will work when I need them.

First Good Impression: the STRIP MAGNET in the top holding the various blades. I can SEE the blade and retrieve it with little effort. Plus, when you change blades, the magnet strip will hold the removed blade for next use.

Second Good Impression: the DIFFERENT HANDLES and VARIETY OF BLADES. Pick the handle/blade combo you need for your task. The supplied handles/blades should cover Just About Any Cutting Need. Third Good Impression: the handle “slots” in the box have a nice “grip” so the handles won’t “move around” and the included “foam liner” adds to the “immobility” of the knives (and “spare blades”) when the cover is closed.

Fourth Good Impression: the provided blades are VERY SHARP! plus, the handles can accept “Official X-Acto” blades if so desired (I don’t think Harbor Freight stocks replacement blades for these knives).

The only Negative I have is the “dodgy” latch on the box – it doesn’t always latch properly. But hey, what do you expect from a $4 knife set? a simple rubber band or Velcro Strap will Do The Job if the “latch tab” breaks.

🙂 Summary: you won’t go wrong with this set! it’s a dynamite value if you need a set of “hobby, etc. ” knives!.

Great variety of blades and the 3 standard handle sizes. They take the normal assortment of x-acto blades so finding replacements is easy. I like that the collets are actually made of metal and not plastic like a lot of the cheaper knife sets.

The magnet strip doesn’t hold the blades very well. I dropped the box into my desk drawer and the next time I opened it up the blades had all fallen off the strip.

This is the absolute best kitchen knife I have ever owned. Super sharp and well balanced. It is a joy to use. I’ve been searching for a sharp knife for years, and finally this is it.

Got these knives for my wife for her birthday. SHE absolutely loves them. She went to school for culinary arts and have had the same set of knives for the last 8 years. She was so excited when she got these.

She’s in absolute love with them. Extremely sharp, keeps a nice edge, aren’t heavy in your hand, feel sleek and nicely balanced. She said if anyone is looking for nice knives, she recommends these hands down!.

These are beautifully made and extremely sharp. I’d highly recommend these to anyone who is considering making a purchase. I also opted for the wet stone when i made my purchase. I would also recommend buying a magnetic knife rack made of bamboo as the knives look really great on display when not using them.

DO NOT GET THESE. They claim to be good for general purpose, and even list carving as one of them they are FLIMSY. You might be able to do very minor very light detail work, but I would not go past that.

If you want a good set, splurge a little more and get Exacto knives. I have 2 sets of those, and we used them with NO problem at all. But this set. i was just doing a little work and only pressed down a little bit, next thing i knew it broke and even got a small poke on my finger.

not bad thankfully but still.

My husband had this set of knives which have a edge that stays sharp for a lot of use but comes with an amazing sharpener when needed.
