Game farms for fowls in the United States are usually privately owned businesses that breed and sell game birds, such as quail, pheasant, and chukar partridge, for hunting purposes. These farms typically have large tracts of land with open fields and wooded areas where the birds can roam freely, and are managed in such a way as to provide optimal habitat for the birds and good hunting conditions for customers.
Many of these farms also offer other services, such as guided hunts, lodging, and dining.

1. Manna Pro 16-Percent All Flock with Probiotics 8 lb
Added Probiotics support gut health & digestion
Nutritionally fortified with vitamins & minerals for a balanced diet
This complete feed is crafted for your flock of chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys or game birds. It is formulated to support gut health and digestion with added probiotics. This nutritious chicken food is fortified with vitamins and minerals for a balanced diet and does not contain any artificial colors or flavors.
It is produced for easy intake and feeding in a convenient crumbled form.
I got these to help increase the laying production of my small flock of 6 hens. Since it is crumbles, I opted to serve them this is a disposable pie pan rather than adding it to their feed or tossing it in their pen, where the brown crumbles would get mixed in with the earth.
Once my ladies figured out how to eat from the dish, and that there food was in there, they gobbled the crumbles up! I haven’t honestly seen them eat anything else as fast as they did this. I was impressed! Laying production is still the same, but I am hoping that it increases soon.
However, my girls seem happier and healthier since I started giving them this! I definitely plan on getting them more, and have recommended this to other chicken owning friends.
My chicks seem to like it or what bits they get. I’d say 50% is Dust in my opinion and the pieces are much smaller than I anticipated. I think we are going to stick with our normal feed as I feel as tho they enjoy it even more and I feel like I truly get what I paid for.
It’s not the worst but certainly not the best nor my favorite thing to give them. They still seem hungry after munching on the tiny crumbs and yes chickens can be greedy little things but my babies are used to eating larger pellets of food, corn and sunflowers.
Our chickens and turkey love this feed! I started to notice they weren’t finishing their previous feed nor were they running excitedly when we came out to feed them. I figured they needed something different.
They LOVE the crumbles! Will definitely keep using this.
Scratch & Peck Feeds Naturally Free Organic Starter Chicken & Duck Feed, 40-lb bag; Give your growing chicks and ducklings the nutrition and taste they need to thrive with the Scratch and Peck Naturally Free Organic Starter Chicken Food.
Formulated with organic, raw whole grains like wheat and barley, plus nutrient-rich meals like sesame, flax and kelp, it’s a complete and balanced feed for starting poultry chicks and ducklings. Naturally free of soy, corn or fillers, it packs more nutrition in every peck—like omegas, vitamins, minerals, probiotics and essential amino acids.
Plus, it’s sourced and made in the USA with never any GMO foods.
I wanted to address the negative reviews about the product being a very fine grind as opposed to larger pieces. The smaller grind is safer for your chicks, until they reach an age where they can fully process seeds, I would say around 3 weeks or older.
I have had one chick die and currently one that may be going through a VERY expensive surgery from an obstruction caused by large sized grain being in the chick starter and subsequently causing an obstruction.
In my case it was peas and it was from another brand of chick starter, which did not screen out the larger pieces. If a piece of large seed such as a pea gets stuck, your chick will not be able to break it down, especially in the first few weeks of life.
If Scratch and Peck is making the seed a finer grind, there is good reason for it! I hope they continue to do so, and screen out large pieces, as this product seems far superior to more fully processed ones.
My chicks and chickens love it. The only reason I had tried another was the cost. If you are concerned about obstructions in your baby chicks, organic crumble is a good choice for the first two wks.
I like the ingredients of Scratch and Peck Organic Chick Starter Grower Feed, it’s probably the best retail chicken feed you can find. What I don’t like about it is how much dust is in each bag, as well as sticks and other debris.
The seeds and their casings get over grinded, so about half the bag is dust, so this is not a good feed to give to your chicks dry, but it makes a good wet mash, which the chicks devour, causing almost no waste of food.
So I recommend this food to feed as a wet mash, not as dry feed.
Purina Game Bird Layer supports laying game birds with everything they need for fertility, embryo development, egg production and chick vigor. This complete feed contains a blend of vitamins and minerals to support strong eggshell production in pheasants, quail, ducks, geese, chukars, guinea hens and other exotics.
Feed only to layers before the onset of egg production and throughout the season. Do not feed to male birds.
How are you to feed male and female quail seperate? I mean it makes no sense to keep hens and roos seperate when you can hatch them year round. I never had issue feeding 16% layer meal. Somebody brought this up to me to try and well cant try it if males cant have it.
I am using this for coturnix quail, I had a few birds that couldn’t lay on the starter feed and this got everyone on the same page. I have 7 hens and was getting 3-4 eggs per day and now am averaging 6.
I had to order online and it came within 4 days to the store for pickup. I do hope that the store will keep some in stock though.
SKU 65941971 – NatureWise Meatbird 22% Crumble is feed you can count on to provide your meatbirds with the natural, balanced nutrition they need to grow big and plump. It also offers enhanced muscle development for broilers, turkeys, ducks, geese, and pheasants.
It’s your best choice for premium, high-quality nutrition.
I personally love Nutrena and all of their feed products. I have a small hobby poultry farm which includes layer, turkeys, guineas, and newly meat birds. Started with another brand of feed that was slightly cheaper, but the price difference is insignificant when it’s only 9 birds so I switched to Nutrena and the birds even seem happier! Nutrena has a smell that you can tell it’s higher quality feed.
If you buy this there is less for me! This is the best feed if you want to pack weight on meat birds from day one to processing. I buy it a pallet at the time. 40 bags will handle 100 Rangers and you might have some left over, but over the years I’ve found that it takes between 14 lbs of feed plus grit to top Rangers off at 9 weeks.
You may do it for less with Cornish Cross. Free feed Rangers and never let them run out. Top dress with grit and move them to new grass as the manure load builds. I’m in my 3rd year raises 100 at the time.
This is quality feed for small flocks like mine where you can’t justify a feed wagon to haul to the mill.
Our Khaki Campbell ducks have always loved this feed (they always run up to us quacking in the morning in anticipation of their breakfast). Recently we switched from Kalmbach Flock Maintainer to the Kalmbach Duck & Goose feed (I don’t know if Chewy recently added more duck feed options since we first started the autoship or if I had just missed it) after I wanted to re-evaluate their feed since my daughter sells their eggs.
A few weeks prior to that we switched to something high quality, organic and natural (Mile Four feed, which I was excited about but our ducks wouldn’t touch- they were very angry with me). Then I switched to the Kalmbach Duck & Goose Feed because I thought it would be more tailored to the benefits of our ducks, plus we currently only have ducks.
Instead, they will pick at it, but still aren’t happy. So back to the Kalmbach flock maintainer.
My two boy Muscovy ducks love this stuff! They’re wild ducks whose mother left them in my flower bed as eggs thinking they wouldn’t hatch, but they did! I raised them for two months, took them to a local bird rescue, and three months later when the rescue released them into the wild, they found me again! They come everyday to eat and visit now! I love my boys and they love this food! We will buy it for life!.
I was happy to find a natural all flock feed product with 16% protein, and the right nutrients for both chickens and ducks, as we have a mixed flock. The birds all seem to love it too. Would be great if it also came in a crumble version.
Treat your chickens to Family Farm Scratch Grains Poultry Feed. The unique formula adds diversity to your feeding program and offers a source of supplemental nutrients. This 40-lb bag of poultry scatter grains is ideal for everyday use, and it is intended to be given in addition to your birds’ usual feed, not as their sole source of nutrition.
Pair this item with layer pellets or crumble and a supply of grit to keep your backyard flock happy. This Family Farm chicken feed encourages animals to peck and scratch and it’s suitable for all classes of poultry.
IšverstiShow in original languageBang for the buck, this will attract a lot of wildlife! It is especially loved by ducks. Some evenings I can draw in upwards of 40 mallards in the middle of my suburban backyard! Mourning doves like to pick the millet out.
Also attracts cottontail rabbits, raccoons, opossum, squirrels, groundhogs, chipmunks and whitetail deer!.
IšverstiShow in original languageI’ve lost 5 chickens in the past 2 years, I tried to save one, and have a pretty good idea of what happened and why. One of my RI Reds recently started acting lathargic and started pooping flourescent green, it seems that her liver had been destroyed, and well.
all I’ve fed my girls is this scratch and the layer mix, which is essentially a powdered crumble, which they hate, mostly because it’s not pelletized, as it should be. The layer mix is barely crumble, and when I started buying it a few years back, it *was* pellets.
Most of the layer mix goes to waste, but they love the 99% corn scratch. I only have 5 chickens left now, along with a handful of local chickens (on Maui, chickens are wild too), many of which have mysteriously disappeared as well.
If you love your chickens, get better feed. I won’t watch another chicken die an agonizing death, just because I’m cheap. You shouldn’t either. Perhaps Walmart will get a better quality of food that doesn’t involve the GMO corn that we are all being poisoned by.
My feed costs are about to double, my eggs will get better and with luck, I won’t kill any more of my girls, who I am very attached to.
IšverstiShow in original languageMy chickens love this, although it is almost all corn. The last bag I bought, though, in November, had a major issue. We began to notice these tiny bugs in the kitchen near the garage door where we keep the feed.
I looked at one bug thru a magnifier, matched it to a bug picture online—weevil! I immediately looked in the bag—they had about 3 days’ of feed left–and when I shook the bag, hundreds of weevils began to emerge! I no longer had my receipt to take it back to the Walmart I bought it at; so I threw the remaining seed far outdoors.
I went to the Walmart to buy a new bag, and lo and behold—all 4 bags had a few weevils coming out of their seams. f you would just pick up the bag and place it in your basket, you wouldn’t notice. I moved a bag, and sure enough, it disturbed them enough so they moved.
I did take pictures. I told the manager, but the poor fellow was understaffed, and I am hoping he will remember and get those bags out of there asap. This is the Walmart on culebra near tezel. I will try a different Walmart, and keep my receipt just in case!.
Purina game bird 30% protein starter feed is a complete feed for pheasants, quail, chukars, guinea fowl and other exotic game birds from 0-6 weeks or turkeys 0-8 weeks of age. Game birds and other poultry are growing in popularity as backyard flock enthusiasts explore new birds and diversify their flocks.
These birds require high protein and specific nutrients, different from baby chicks, to start strong. Purina game bird 30% starter feed is formulated to provide all of these unique nut.
I use Purina 30% Protien Starter mixed in with all flock pellets for my still growing turkey that lives with his duck brother and sister. It’s non medicated so it won’t affect the ducks if they decide to gorge.
The free range chickens are always sneaking in to steal their feed and seem to love it. I’ve also used the protien starter for my quail chicks or to fatten up the lucky chosen quail. If you are looking for an affordable non-medicated high protien feed, this has been the easiest find for me and my flock.
Honestly a must-have if you’re raising turkeys! I wasn’t able to get this for a while due to it always being sold out and during the time that I was having to feed a different feed I kept losing poults and was having a lot of growth issues.
Finally was able to switch back to this full time and no more losses and all of my turkeys are big and beautiful! I do wish it came in a 50 lb bag so it would last a little longer.
Do-all’s fowl play auto trap sports a 25-clay stack and fires targets up to 55 yards. Its feeder tray smoothly transfers pigeons onto the throwing arm and target angles can be easily adjusted from 5 to 35 for a variety of shooting scenarios.
Also features an adjustable limit switch for timing adjustments in the field. Included ground spikes reduce vibration and increase stability. Orange safety-ring attachment keeps shooters clear of danger areas.
25-ft. Foot-pedal release for easy hands-free operation. Compatible with do-all wireless remote and outdoors wobbler. Powered by 12-volt deep-cycle marine battery not included.
Bought this to replace my manual thrower. Should have bought this a long time ago. Makes shooting more enjoyably I would give it 5 stars if it wasn’t missing the ground spikes which it doesn’t really need If you put it in grass but you need them if you set it on loose gravel.
Tends to move alittle. All in all well built thrower.
Bought this a couple of months ago when it was on sale. I mounted the thrower on a platform that brought it up to about 4′ off the ground. Built the platform heavy duty so there is no recoil or vibration.
Plan an getting a second machine when it goes on sale so I will have the ability to shoot at crossing clays. I find it simple to operate and dependable.
I actually accidentally ordered this unknowingly *lol* So, I was not only surprised when it showed up on my doorstep, but I was also surprised to find that my hens enjoy this! I had added it to my autoship order, but after reading several reviews I felt skeptical and thought that I had removed it.
I have had it out in the run for several days now and it’s a definite win! It wasn’t rock solid like I had read on some reviews. yes it is compacted where it doesn’t just crumble into a mound, but my girls are able to peck and eat it just fine.
When I opened it the edges actually broke off where I grabbed at it. I sprinkled a little scratch feed on and around it to get their immediate attention, and that got them started. Good accidental purchase!.
I’ve given various suet-type treats to my girls, which they have attacked with glee and devoured too quickly. When I saw the poultry block, I figured this would be something they would enjoy, especially in the run during rainy Spring days with not much else to keep them busy.
The block came broken in about three pieces, which honestly isn’t that big of a deal since it’s truly a huge block for a flock of five and I’d figure they’d peck at it anyway regardless of shapes. They haven’t ignored it entirely, but I also haven’t caught anyone actually pecking at it with my own eyes since it’s been out there the past week (so it very well could be great for rodents and the chickens really don’t care about it at all!) I’ll stick with the other suet-type small treat blocks for them for the future.
Nice chicken snack block. I would recommend that this be ordered separately. I ordered it along with a auto ship and it was packaged with a my other items. The block made a heavy box even heavier. 8 cat food cans in a case were damaged and leaked.
Some people call it the best game they’ve ever played, others call it addictive. This international award-wining game has sold hundreds of thousands of copies. It has been used by homeschoolers, thousands of schools around the world, and the World Bank had it translated into Russian to assist farm privatization.
The Farming Game is perfect for home on any rainy day or family get together, for a weekend up at the cabin, or down at the beach. A great gift for anyone, including yourself! One size fits all. Each player starts the game with 20 acres inherited from Grandpa.
With each completed trip around the gameboard you receive $5,000 from your year’s wages to plow back into the farm. The object of The Farming Game is to build your farm large enough to be able to quit the job in town, come home to be your own boss, and farm full time!.
This game keeps players enthralled from start to finish. Our extended family over a period of thirty to forty five years ( most of us have our own “Farming Game” ) have come close to wearing them out.
In each game we add our rules that are acceptable to all players. On occasion we raise the amount it takes to win up to 1 million dollars. Making / adding our own rules that are agreeable to all creates alot of excitement, like borrowing from each other with a bonus repayment based on if we can repay by a certain date.
If we can’t, the borrows cost keeps going up, etc. Several other family units have games that are approaching replacement. Enjoy, Enjoy! Enjoy!! There are times where we will include up to eight (8) of us that all play one game.
We play really fast so as to get to the winning dollar amount and start over. It is amazing how excited we all are to play the next game. Thank you to who ever created this game!!.
Take on the role of a modern farmer and creatively build your farm in three diverse American and European environments. Farming Simulator 22 offers a huge variety of farming operations focusing on agriculture, animal husbandry and forestry – now with the exciting addition of seasonal cycles!.
Purchased this new Farming Sim ready for release day. My son loved the farming sim 2019 but really wanted this new version. I have been reliably (and enthusiastically informed) that this game is more realistic with farming machinery auctions to purchase equipment.
I understand that this is a more realistic start to the “farming industry” as purchasing all new equipment is not how most farms do things. There graphics and environmental textures are richer and more detailed now with detail like gravel crunching under foot.
The game makers have added more equipment available for purchase at the get home rather than players having to download “Mods” from online. The overall feel and playability are reported to be a significant step up fr the previous version and well worth the purchase.
My son loves this game and I think he will be fully occupied in the coming winter months getting in the wheat and barley. The only downside is the effort ensuring that he does his school homework on time :).
While completely unnecessary the USB light that the collectors edition comes with is such a great add on. The game itself has some great additions compared to previous versions, production chains offer a new gameplay option.
But as with previous versions of the game, once the mods start coming out there will be some really cool additions that should make it amazing. As with most games these days, patches are slowly coming out to fix bugs that do still exist, but aren’t game breaking.
For anyone who is just getting into this a controller is almost necessary compared to mouse/keyboard, but adding a steering wheel/shifter/joystick/button box just adds to the immersion. I understand the shipping issues weren’t BestBuy’s fault, but they continually told me it would be ready for pickup on release day, then changed my order to show that they didn’t know when it would come in, but if it didn’t it would be cancelled.
Any form of communication about the status would have been better than what they provided.
I love the FS games and FS22 is no exception – while there are some early bugs and optimisation issues, the game is playable and these will be fixed up over time. This release brings an array of new major features to the game such as seasonal growth cycles, real seasons (including snow!) and production chains for further processing of your crops.
The mods available on console is growing every day and week right now, so there’s plenty of mods for you to consider if there is something you’d like to incorporate into your game. If you haven’t played any of the Farming Simulators, do yourself a favour, set aside literally hundreds of hours of your life, and get this!.
NatureWiseer Layer 16% Pellets Poultry Feed is a non-medicated, vegetarian feed formulated to support balanced and complete nutrition in your flock. Fortified and containing 16% protein, it requires no additional supplementation.
This pelleted feed supports the immune system and promotes abundant egg production and healthy shells. Appropriate for free-range and home-raised flocks, NatureWiseer Layer 16% Pellets Poultry Feed also contains marigold extract for rich golden yolks.
When my chickens came off of chick feed, I tried another brand of layer feed, because it was what the store had in stock. My pullets and cockerels all “stuck their beaks up” and wouldn’t eat it. I had to moisten it just to get them to taste it.
Upon returning the other brand of feed to the store, I purchased Nutrena NatureWise Layer Crumble feed. My chickens went wild over Nutrena feed! I was so happy that I also purchased Nutrena NatureWise Layer Pellet feed to give them for their snack time! Did I mention these feeds really smell good, too? My Black Stars’ feathers gleam in the sun, my Blue Laced Red Wyandottes are just gorgeous, and their eggs are pretty and delicious since they started eating Nutrena great quality feed.
I started feeding my chickens and ducks nutrena layer feed crumbles about a month ago and the difference has been amazing! My feathered babies never missed a beat! They loved the food right away! I started using this during molting and you could see the difference in their feathers very quickly! I had been waiting for my lavender Orpington to start laying for about 2 months and sure enough, she started laying after I introduced nutrena.
I’m so glad I switched feed and I am looking forward to watching feathered children grow!.

We discovered TOTW years ago when we rescued a husky/malamute mix that wS an extremely picky eater. We went through so many different brands of dog food, I lost count. With some of them, he would eat certain pieces out of the bowl, but pick around and leave behind other pieces.
Other brands, he snubbed completely. And the brands that he ate parts of, our other 2 dogs wanted nothing to do with. Then we discovered TOTW. We found it on a list of the best 10 dog foods that were available at the time.
We tried a few of the others without success. Our dogs didn’t like them. but when we got TOTW, the dogs loved it! They all ate it enthusiastically! And since then, it’s all we have fed our dogs. We have had quite a few.
a beagle mix, a pit/retriever mix, 2 husky/malamute mixes, 2 husky/foxhound mixes, 2 GSD’s, 2 havanese, a golden doodle and a white husky. All have loved this food. I think that part of the reason is the smaller size pieces that the kibble comes in.
It’s been my experience that even with the larger dogs, they don’t like the big chunks of food. They prefer the smaller pieces. Maybe that’s why we always find them eating the cat food, huh? Think about it! As for me, I order 3 different flavors at a time and then mix it in my dog food bin.
My dogs love it! And up to this point, I have yet to find any dog that hasn’t liked it.
I feed my two pups, Labrador and Treeing Walker hound mix, this food in conjuction with some dry food. The hound has had both knees repaired from rupturing her CCLs so I wanted her on a food that has the omega fatty acids with fish oil to help with her joints.
Since Labs can be prone to hip issues, I’m trying to prevent that. The only knock I can give the food is that it’s grain free but the dry food they get has grain in it because I don’t want them to have the suspect heart issues with being on a grain free diet.
Honestly there is no guarantee that any of the steps I’m taking is going to help but it makes me feel better that I’m at least trying something! A word of caution though, my parents was feeding their Labradoodle this food in the dry form and they said it made her body odor really bad.
They switched to a different flavor and the odor went away. I haven’t had this issue with the wet food with my pups though.
I’m a new Taste of the wild buyer but I can say I will never go back. We were researching the food requirements for our female Bernese mountain dog and Taste of the wild came up time and time again. I can honestly say I am not surprised that it was so highly recommended.
Sierra Mountain is perfect for my giant breed dog as it gives her he nutrients, high protein content and grain free food she requires. She absolutely adores the food and we’ve started to notice a difference in her coat, eyes and temperament since feeding her this.
She has a lot more energy and seems a lot happier in herself. We have also noticed that her bowel movements are a lot more frequent, softer and more consistent- leading us to conclude that her gut is as happy as she is.
Take on the role of a modern farmer in Farming Simulator 17! Immerse yourself in a huge open world loaded with harvest. Explore farming possibilities over hundreds of acres of land, including a detailed North American environment.
Drive authentic farming vehicles and equipment from manufacturers. Harvest many types of crops, including for the first time sunflowers and soy beans. Take care of your livestock – cows, sheep, chickens and now pigs – take part in forestry, and sell your products to expand your farm! Transport your goods with trucks and trailers, or load and drive trains to reach your destination.
Grow your farm online with other players, and download community created mods for an ever-expanding Farming Simulator experience!.
It’s a cool game. Had to watch TONS of videos to really get the hang of everything, but otherwise it has good details in gameplay and quirks too. Like the harvester only will pick up the one type you are harvesting.
ei. , grass, vs hay, vs anything else. Each blade of grass it knows and counts it. Cows should be able to free graze. in different pastures as in real life home farms. There are massive ranches near me with 500+ cattle they let graze on their large pastures.
Not some feed lot tyle setups. Of course for larger equipment you need larger tractors. in DLC. still regular priced on PS. Lots of mods though that are just awesome. Limited on PS (than PC), but still better than DLC only.
Those hour long plus “helper ” missions are great income. I did a lot of those to get better tractors (not use the cheats available in game). You will mess up, as in RL, but that’s fine. get back to it.
Try all the things, lumber, cows, pigs, SELL SILAGE ROUND BAILs FOR GREAT(est) INCOME. (spoiler). Lol.
this game has changed for the best since FS15. the ability to slow down and speed up the time is excellent and allows you the time to harvest your fields easily or whizz through the night hours. there are many more vehicles and accessories to choose from and the option of buying and placing your own buildings, fences, seed supplies and fertilizer silos adds to the experience.
finally, all the other fields are owned and farmed by other farmers and you have the chance to harvest, cultivate, plow, and sow for them and get paid or purchase the field from them with the crop still on the field thus making money back once harvested.
the mods are an excellent addition. I have only one bad point about this game and that is that it is addictive and I seem to have a problem letting go of the controller long enough for my kids to have a go.
fantastic farming fun even for an avid shoot em up gamer.
Farming Simulator 17 is the best of the series so far. No doubt next year will be even better. This is a very compelling and consuming game. A lot of new work choices and available crops and animals to farm.
Work your farm or work for other farmers to earn money to upgrade your equipment. You do start with a bank loan that has to be paid off. Very good graphics and attention to details. Highly addictive and time consuming.
Meets niacin requirements of ducks and geese. Fortified with vitamins and minerals to improve efficiency and help grow strong, lively birds. Contains LifeGuard – a proprietary blend of prebiotics, probiotics, essential oils, and enzymes to support digestive, immune and health function.
Convenient mini pellet to optimize consumption and reduce waste. An all-natural complete feed formulated for ducks and geese.
I have tried several different things for young geese and they pick at it, but never really seem too interested. They do appear more enthusiastic about this. My ducks are on layer feed but get this in addition when it’s out for the geese and they gobble it up.
The pellets are very small which is good for me. I have not made it to the bottom of the bag yet to see if I get all that residual powder like other Klambach Feeds I have used for mixed flock and duck/chicken versions.
Small, dense pellets. Easy medium to use for feeding wild ducks. Use for Mallards on a pond. They like the food. Would be even better if less expensive. I’m not raising ducks, just feeding them supplementally.

Extreme gets its name from the amazingly hardy forages it contains Persist Forb and WINA-100 forage chicory. Not only are they hardy, they’re also extremely attractive to deer. Extreme is highly versatile.
It can flourish in a wide variety of soil typesfrom moderately-drained to well-drained. It can even tolerate soils with less than ideal pH levels. Extreme is cold tolerant, heat tolerant, and drought resistant.
It can thrive in the harsh winter conditions of Canada, as well as the warm climate of the Southern United States. Extreme is designed to perform best in seedbeds that have been prepared with tillage equipment, but it can also tolerate being planted when equipment is limited.
Select a site with moderately- to well-drained soil that receives at least 4 hours of sunlight per day. A seed blend that will enable you to plant a successful perennial food plot in slightly poorer soil.
Almost zero germination in a soil tested plot, prepped with a fence drag with immediate water. Good rain and supplemental sprinklers from then on. The weeds have eventually come back now 3 weeks later.
Planted this 4/28 in ohio. The seeds did not see rain for a few days after planting. The product is coming up but because of the slow growth rate the weeds are overtaking the plot. As of 7/10 the deer are always in it however it doesn’t seem much of a magnet to them.
Product did will from a germination standpoint and deer really liked it. Withstood some serious drought and is well suited for Texas climate and various soil types. Issue I have with it was and still is the very high Inert matter of over 30% That means there is 30% of a mystery item or items in each bag.
In my humble opinion the Whitetail Institute should really clean up their seed. Inert matter should be in single digits!.
SKU 20560368 – Non-medicated feed designed for starting and growing gamebirds, turkeys, ducks, geese and broilers. Complete feed with 24% protein with essential amino acids for fast growth, efficient gain, and high-quality plumage.
I ordered this product online with free ship to store and realized a month later that the feed production ate stamped on was last December. 11 months is too long for feed to sit on a shelf. Do not buy this online.
Well priced for the volume. The ducks and geese love it. We use it at the local duck ponds. Jerks will dump domestics ducks and geese at these sights. We use this to help these animals (that have never fended for themselves) over that period of adaptation—where they eventually acquire the habits of the native birds.
Of course, the resident ducks/geese get-in the goodies. We fed the entire populations over the month when the ground was covered by snow and ponds frozen. The price per bag has gone up by 10% over the last year, but it is still a bargain compared to the common retail outlet.
Been feeding this to my mixed flock of geese, chickens, turkey, duck, guinea, emu for years now. Does a great job of meeting the basic nutritional needs of the flock as a whole. I supplement as necessary for any other birds from there.
