Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing is not exactly like Mario Kart Wii, but it’s pretty close. And if you’re looking for another game like Mario Kart Wii, like I was, then this one should please you. The game play is the same, the controls are exactly the same, and many of the items do the same things (cones replace bananas, shoes replace mushrooms, rockets replace shells, etc), though there are a few very different power-ups.

Instead of unlocking new levels by winning Grand Prix, you buy them with the miles you accumulate during races. You gain new racers, courses, and music tracks this way (you can change the music track on a course–you’re not limited to one song).

The characters are restricted to one vehicle, but they don’t drive just karts: you get, among other things, a cabriolet, hovercraft, a motorcycle, a monster truck, and a bunch of bananas. Yes, a monkey drives a banana car! You can also race as any Mii you’ve designed.

The modes are Grand Prix, single race (8 tracks available at the start with 16 more to purchase), time trials (in which you race for the best lap time, so you can keep going around the track as many times as you want), and mission mode.

In MM, you are given a task to complete with a certain racer on a specific track. You might have to hit targets, collect rings, avoid obstacles, win three 2-lap races, or drift a lot. There are 64 missions, which unlock as you complete earlier ones.

In single race mode, you can adjust the opponent difficulty, number of laps, types of items, and whether or not you hear a commentator. Thus, you can make it as hard or easy as you want it to be. You can play with friends in multi-player mode.

The tracks themselves are well-rendered, very detailed, and varied in location. For a change, the first track is not a dull, oval-like raceway, but a seaside track with a jumping whale, a loop-de-loop, and two bridges without guardrails.

This first track is also the demo, which you can play to get a feel for the game’s mechanics. Other courses include a factory, carnival towns, ice worlds, a town and forest haunted by zombies, a roller coaster, and casino-inspired raceways where you drive on a roulette wheel, slots, and a pinball machine.

There’s a lot of creativity in the details and designs–you may find yourself driving upside-down on a few tracks! This game is compatible with the Wii remote (with or without the wheel), Wii remote and nunchuk, and the classic controller.

If you like racing games, this is a fun one. As a lover of racing games, I recommend it.

Id been contemplating purchasing this game for quite a while, so given the excellent price on Zavvi I decided to finally give it a try. The game is a standard kart racer and borrows from all the best, most notably Mario Kart, but dont let this put you off because it borrows all the very best bits and builds it into a great little game.

The power ups are pretty much the standard stuff youd expect and theres a simple drift/boost system which makes the game very easy to pick up and play. As a result the game is great for people of all ages and also a good title for evenings with friends over who havent played the game before, as it wont take them long to master.

A good example of this was a four-player game we had, in which 1st place to 8th place was separated by only 3 seconds, despite the fact two of the players had owned the game, whilst the other two were playing in only their third race.

One of my biggest criticisms of racing games is usually the AI, whereby programmers choose to use very basic catch-up to keep races tight. On this game you can turn this off, which is brilliant because that ruins a lot of games in my opinion (Motorstorm being a prime example).

The level and track designs are superb, with bright and vibrant colours keeping things interesting throughout. Characters and vehicles are based around classic Sega games and the presentation is superb throughout.

In single player and two-player split-screen the game looks very impressive, with no drop in frame rate that Ive noticed. In four-player things are a little disappointing however, as the frame rate suffers pretty much from the start.

Given the power of modern consoles and that this game was always going to be a big seller on the basis of the multi-player mode, I find it slightly surprising that more time wasnt put into either optimising what they had or just going with something a little bit simpler visually to keep things nice and smooth (its not as if were dealing with an inexperienced development team here either).

However, although it doesnt look great in four-player it is still very playable, its just something that I thought was worth mentioning. Another minor gripe is the character and level select system, whereby you have to exit out of each track to load the level/character select screen each time you want to change anything.

This might not seem such a terrible thing, but the load times arent fantastic and it wouldve been nice to have been able to quickly make those sorts of changes at the end of a race rather than loading up a new select screen.

However, minor gripes aside this is decent kart racer and one which Im going to enjoy playing a lot more over the coming months. There’s plenty to do on the game with a huge number of modes and challenges, as well as a vast array of characters and levels to unlock; the game represents fantastic value for money.

Its not the 5 out of 5 that it could (and probably should) have been, but certainly a solid 4 out of 5 and well worth picking up given the price.

Why copy Mario kart ? Because it’s the best, and the greatest form of flattery is to be mimicked, and to be honest, sonic & sega all stars racing, just falls short of being as good, if not better than the former mentioned.

Graphics 8 / 10 Gameplay 7 / 10 Fun factor 7 / 10 Overall rating. 7. 5 /10 So to summarise, S. S. A. S. R. is, while be it fun, and rather satisfying, ( once you’ve mastered the drift mechanic) mario kart this is not, but if you love all things SONIC & SEGA, Then this game is a must, just don’t expect perfection.

My daughter received this as a birthday gift. She loves to build and really enjoyed putting this together. Our only complain was the instructions weren’t always clear and she ended up having to take it apart and rebuild it multiple times.

In the end, it was still fun for her.

My son really enjoys building stuff and taking stuff apart. I looked at several engine models for him as a birthday present. This one seemed like a good value, had a battery / motor to run the engine (not a hand crank), had lights for the plugs in each cylinder, and had good reviews.

It arrived fast, despite the warnings that it might be delayed by Covid 19. He spent the day by himself building it. It turned out great! He had fun time building it and is proud of his accomplishment.

For kart racing fans who have played Mario Kart 8’s courses to death and need something new and fresh, Team Sonic Racing comes along to satisfy your pallette. Before you think it unfair to compare TSR to MK8, the makers of this game make little effort to hide that Mario Kart is exactly what they are aiming for.

Just look at the items in this game (called wisps). 80% of them are borrowed from MK. Missiles that bounce off walls (green shells), crimson eagle that chases opponents (red shell), boost (mushroom), cube (fake item box/banana), rhythm (blooper), drill (bullet bill), bomb (bob omb), ghost & lightning.

Quake is like blue shell but way better since you actually have a chance of dodging the pillars. A lot of the courses look like combinations of MK levels. There is a haunted house/sand level and a volcano level with a molten monster that looks suspiciously like the one in Bowser’s castle.

The good news is the courses look gorgeous and are a blast to play. The controls are silky smooth and there is even a second control option for MK veterans (x on PS4 to accelerate, r2 to drift, l2 to use items).

They really nailed the feel of the drifting! This is probably the first non-MK racer that got the drifting perfect. It’s better than the last Sonic Racing Game. I watched footage of the upcoming Crash Team Racing remake and it looks jerky af.

This is smooth turning around all the corners. The bad news is the roster dropped all those cool and random characters from the last game and the tracks are a bit less fun and creative than those in Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed, where they had the whole SEGA catalog to pull ideas from.

While Nintendo expanded MK8 to include Zelda, F-Zero, Splatoon, Animal Crossing and others, Team Sonic goes the opposite direction and just focused Sonic franchise characters, half of which are obscure even to fans (Zavok anyone?).

I’d give this a 3 and a half star if it was an option. I’m a huge fan of Sega racing games, always have been, always will be. The Sonic Racing series that really took flight with Sonic and All-Star Racing Transformed is still one of the very best kart racing games I’ve ever played.

I mean it when I say it can easily be seated against any Mario Kart game or even Crash Team Racing, it’s that good. So my hopes were pretty high for this. Unfortunately they went with this gimmick of you having a trio of characters to racing around with, think Sonic Heroes in cars.

It’s weird to get used to at first since the place of each person on your team will tally your total score at the end of the race. Naturally you all work together but this would have been far better as a mode of play rather than the entire experience as a whole.

I don’t mind trying new things with any genre to mix it up and push the envelope but it took away from the basic aspects of what made the previous two entries so special. There was also a lack of other Sega properties since this was solely a Sonic racing game this time around which naturally bummed me out but what can you do? Hopefully down the road we get a sequel to Transformed.

Team Sonic Racing is one of those rare Mario Kart clones that is exiting enough in its own right to be fun, addictive and worth playing. The game consists of 15 racers, 21 tracks, an Adventure Mode and classic modes like Grand Prix, Time Trial and Exhibition.

Some levels are returning from previous Sonic racers, but most are new and fresh. The main draw here is with its exclusive 3-person team system, which forces you to work together with AI teammates to share items, gain boosts and bounce off each other to gain the upper hand in a race.

By performing enough of these coop moves, your team will eventually earn a significant speed boost, which could drastically change the outcome of a race if used at the right times. The main mode, ‘Adventure’, places you in a bit-sized map with a Mario-style level structure, where each stage represents a new race.

Each level gives players the opportunity to earn up to 3 stars (bronze, silver and gold), which should give the game some replay value in the long run. Each track is designed with upmost care, boasting an enormous amount of color and vibrant texture work that gives you that feeling of quality, with tight controls and a good sense of speed.

The game isn’t without its fair share of problems, though. First of all, many stages are locked behind Adventure mode progress, so don’t expect to fire up the game and choose whatever stage and character you want right away, because you can’t.

The next issue worth mentioning is in regards to the tone of the game. For years, Sonic games have been catering to little kids, and the series never matured enough to remove the utter cringe from its voice acting and soundtrack, and this game is no different.

Luckily, most of the music is well orchestrated and catchy, but the voice acting and a couple songs that contain lyrics can be pretty awful, so expect to be tempted to skip the ‘cut-scenes’ that occur between Adventure levels and plug your ears when necessary.

Overall, I would recommend Team Sonic Racing as a worthy Mario Kart alternative. The power-ups aren’t too exciting and the voice acting is pretty bad, but the gameplay, level design and fun factor are all high enough quality to warrant a purchase.

I was very upset to learn there are many features not available in this game for the WII edition. One of the main reasons was to play zombies, although you can there is no split screen so it’s only single player.

(Don’t forget the vending machine behind the bar for a revive) the only perk to one player zombies. It’s only one zombie map too. Online modes work but no 2 player for missions or training. Cheat codes don’t seem to work either, in the main screen you can escape from the chair and access a computer to enter them but they don’t work.

I got classic controllers for the game and in zombies they only let you pick from several pre set controls you can’t customize so they are kind of awkward. Game play is ok but I always preferred MW cod.

The turning side to side is slow aiming and you can’t cycle through killstreak rewards which is annoying. I’d like to be able to use a uav before an airstrike to increase it’s effectivness. If these are things you’re looking for get a different cod or buy it on a different platform that supports it.

I should of checked myself but didn’t think at all split screen wouldn’t be supported so kind of shocked.

I’ve always wanted a copy of this game when I was young. Now I finally got it. I bought it brand new and the case was good. Once I open the case the clips of the case broke at the bottom now I need to re glue the small pieces.

Also game disc had a few scratches on it. I’m not sure maybe the cased might scratched it? However the scratches doesn’t affect the gameplay. Overall highly recommend this to your call of duty collection.

I really like the collection of Black Ops. Black Ops 1 has a good storyline. The multiplayer is very challenging. Online multiplayer with players and offline multiplayer with the bots, but it’s fun. The Zombies mode is super hard, but I keep practicing.

Black Ops 2 has the best storyline. The online multiplayer is cool. Private lobby with my friends is super fun. The public lobby is alright, it would be better without Modders. Quick scope is pretty easy.

The offline multiplayer with the boys is pretty fun. The Zombie mode is pretty fun. It’s not as hard like Black Ops 1. Black Ops 3 doesn’t have Story Mode on it, so that was a bummer. The online multiplayer is good.

The offline multiplayer with the bots is good. Quick scopes is just the same as Black Ops 2. I didn’t like the Zombie mode. The storyline sucked. The multiplayer is better than Zombies on Black Ops 3.

Black Ops 1, 2 and 3 are awesome. Highly recommended.

As a fan, many years ago, of Destruction Derby Raw on the PlayStation, I was happy to see this released. It is very similar in style to that game, albeit at a much higher quality. Plenty to do in career mode, though multiplayer only available online – in fairness there is a bit much going on for splitscreen.

My only gripe is that Switch couldn’t do it with tilt control. There are less buttons required than Mario Kart so I thought this would have been a nice feature to have. Overall though, good bit of fun.

Pretty decent game. Was looking for a demolition derby game to play with my 11 year old. with a fun level of destruction, but without blood or death. This game provides just that! There are only a couple of things I don’t really like.

1) As you advance in Career Mode, there are some restricted events or races. this is normal and fine, but I found it difficult to understand what steps were required in order to access these events. Example: Maybe you need to buy a specific type of car to qualify for the race.

Or, maybe you need to upgrade / downgrade a specific vehicle. This part is not user-friendly. 2) The Career Mode is relatively short. You can enter custom events (outside the career events), which is good.

Overall, it has been pretty solid. I had the opportunity to purchase it on sale, so I’d say the value was great. (If I spent $59 on the game, I’d be pretty disappointed).

I have played through 1 and a half tiers of this game and I really enjoy it. The career mode is filled with challenges that not only reward you with your finish placement but with every spin out, crash or damage you inflict on your opponent.

I find the demolishing derbies the hardest part of this game. The physics feel familiar to me. If you’ve played any of the other racing games ie NFS, Forza etc, you will pick up the controls easily. There are plenty of cars and upgrades to choose from as your bank amount increases and DLC is also available with some pretty wacky looking vehicles.

This game is really fun in multiplayer mode. Real life opponents can be quite brutal as getting around the track in one piece can prove difficult. It’s amusing to see the carnage of automotive carcasses laying about the track and car parts strewn everywhere.

It’s most gratifying crossing the finish line with nothing more than a badly damaged frame left of your car. There are also plenty of wild fantasy tracks guaranteed cause maximum destruction in the first few laps.

This game is for the racer in all of us that doesn’t mind rubbing a little paint or worse.

I recently just got hooked into F1. It’s such an amazing sport. Even this game is challenging. Career mode is tricky. Until you start understanding the dynamics. you’ll get a hang of it! I honestly keeping up with the latest Grand Prix ( Brazil GP soon).

Last weekend was the Mexico GP. so what I did. I played the Mexico track so that I can understand it myself. and it helps a lot cause once you start watching the race live. it feels like you get the track cause you played it! tonight I will play the BRAZIL track and see how it feels VIRTUALLY.

then Saturday is the sprint, and Sunday will be the race. Honestly. this game gave me the closest feeling of how it looks and feels esp on board the drivers head camera!!.

Another great F1 game! Really have enjoyed this game. The new “Breaking Point” story mode was really entertaining and the career mode is robust as well. The only problem I have is the AI difficulty. It is so difficult to find the sweet spot.

You are either so much faster than your opponents or can’t keep up. To be fair a lot of racing games have this same difficulty. I would rate this 4. 5 if possible based on that alone. I find myself adjusting the AI difficulty regularly trying to find the sweet spot.

Overall, a great game and all F1 fans and racing fans should give this one a try!.

Pros: None really. Maybe the graphics if I HAD to pick something Cons: They made the game ALOT more realistic. Which means you need to be a pro at know about F1 mechanics to ensure your don’t slide out and skid on every single corner.

You can’t just play/race. We’ve sat for hours watching YouTube videos of top games to try change all the setting so my son cane get a decent race on the track but every corner he spins out no matter what changes we make.

So he got upset and didnt want to play it. And I don’t blame him.

I absolutely love this game for racing fans as myself and just car fans! I highly recommend this game, there is so much content from the different seasons to the hundreds of cars to pick from and the types of racing you can pick from it is un-endless what you can do from drifting to road racing to just free roam and tear assing around in the country side, this game has it all! I discovered this from reviews and I was not disappointed one bit, I even purchased the ultimate edition expansion pack to go along with it and it was worth every penny! I love this game and look forward to Horizon 5!.

While the Forza Series has always been one that I adored, Forza Motorsport unfortunately went straight into the Dumpster after FM3 and While all of the Horizons have been really good, Forza Horizon3 has both things I Love & things I absolutely can NOT STAND- (I remember why I sold it after playing again) From Cars GAINING MORE GRIP IN THE RAIN, to the Physics Engine Changing at night, making it Harder to Drift, to the Unbelievable Traffic jams that occur (because of the games AI & its way of generating Activity around the player) IN THE DRIFT ZONES- to the AWD CARS Having waaaaaay to much Torque on the Front wheels, what I refer to as to much FM7 in the Physics Either way, its still a very fun game when it works properly! Unfortunately again, it doesnt always- I do Love the Graphics in FH3 as they are the Best all around of the Horizon Games! In FH4, the Resolution and Poly count still looks really good & While the Drifting in FH4 is THE BEST ITS EVER BEEN, Forza Horizon4 Lost All of the Plume of Tire smoke that should be there, Billowing Behind the Car.

poof=Gone Ultimately if you already have FH4, then FH3 is Not worth it imho- Unless, like me, it was the only one you were missing and wanted to complete your Collection!?.

I love this game! It is such a classic game. There are easy courses and very difficult courses. You can play by yourself or you can play with friends. (It is a lot of fun to run your friends off rainbow road 😂).

I definitely recommend this game if you are looking for a classic racing game. The controls are pretty easy to figure out and there are additional modes that you can play to make the game more interesting.

This games a lot of fun. They got hang gliding parts that are pretty cool, a lot of the old maps are included and its always fun throwing turtle shells at people. Overall Id say its a good game, its better then the N64 version but not as good as double dash on the GameCube.

Its definitely worth what I paid, at least. The Mario cart games are alot of fun and are super re-playable. Im glad to have Mario cart 7 in my collection of games its always a decent experience.

Itching to launch shells, eat mushrooms and skid through korners, I bought this game because I wanted something fast and fun. Mario Kart delivers and the Nintendo 3ds supports many hours of quality gameplay and graphics that will have you kraving more.

Race tracks and classic characters featured from all previous Mario Kart games through the years sends any veteran player through a nostalgia trip. Online capability is easy to use and competitive once you get a few cups under your belt and the ability to unlock extra gear can be addictive.

If you’re looking for classic, fast, familiar fun don’t hesitate to add the 7th edition to your repertoire!.

Its average at best. Definitely not the best franchise like the person below. This game didn’t do well in its release so that persons statement is invalid. At the time of this games release Grid was also out and honestly that was better than this.

This game is basically Grid but more based on tuners. While it has a decent selection of luxurious and exotic cars its more based on tuners. Has a few ugly muscle cars. Its all closed tracks and the car physics in this game was good at its time.

Pro street is basically a unsuccessful version of Shift since it handles that way. You are better off playing that game rather than this. This game you play as Ryan Cooper. You don’t get to play as yourself and it slightly ruins the gameplay.

Pro street has some odd experiments such as if you crash your car you have to pay for it so you never want to crash in this game. Its okay but the fact it costs money if you were to crash you would just end up turning off the console instead.

If you see this for 6 bucks its fine but I do recommend playing Need for speed shift 1 and 2 since its the spirit successor of Pro street.

First of, the only thing I don’t like is, that the game is not open world. It’s with race tracks just like GT or Forza but with the NFS feel of cars! With that out of the way the good parts: – The game has a varied selection of cars.

from the weak J-cars such as the Sprinter Trueno, to the strong American muscle such as the Corvette C6, to the Luxurious Lamborghini Murcielago! – The game has a varied amount of Car customization that goes from car body kits to car handling and power.

The game is very intuitive as far as racing goes. There are several racing modes which I will try to give a few game tips for in order to minimize frustration. Game tips: Speed races- For easy play do a google search for game cheats and use the viper you get for the majority of the game.

When tuning I suggest firm suspension up front, and I leave the back untouched. Tire pressure is a preference, low pressure for traction (only lower for traction on powered wheels (eg rear low pressure in a RWD vehicle).

Low tire pressure will reduce max speed so keep that in mind. Max out all nitrous settings other than the last setting (I believe its flow rate, not sure, that can stay standard) Drift: Use the RX-7, by far the best drift car.

Lower the suspension to min height. Stiffer suspensions tend to work better in my opinion, but set steering (final setting in suspension) to loose. Drag: I suggest the chevelle or supra. Any old school muscle car can do the trick really.

Max ride hight. Make all front suspension soft and all rear stiff. Max final gear ratio, and set all other gears so that you can have good shifts, but the shorter the better. Max nitrous except for last setting.

Wheelie: MUST use muscle car and MUST have suspension 3 or you won’t get anywhere. Chevelle works well here also. Speed Challenge: Start by using the BMW you win it has good stability but use stock tires.

This is very important or you will bounce all over. This applys to all speed challenge vehicles. When you win the Skyline use that, it is also very stable with good top speed. I didnt mess with tuning too much other than the general nitrous recommendations.

If you start having trouble winning with the skyline, purchase the porche 911 turbo, murcialago, or the zonda if you have lots of cash. I like the turbo personally, and it will get your through the game.

If you’re reading this then you know Crysis, it’s all about great combat set within a crazy-detailed graphical environment. This game does not disappoint on either front, the graphics are literally the best in any game ever released, and no not by a *huge* amount but I think it’s clearly the best looking game ever made.

The combat is still a hell of a lot of fun and I was initially very skeptical about the crossbow as it sounded like a real gimmick since crossbows seem to be all the rage at the moment, I don’t know why.

However Crysis 3 does the crossbow right! It’s loads of fun to use and having to go retrieve your arrows so you don’t run out adds a little something to the gameplay for me. In short, if you like the Crysis series then this is definitely something you should buy and you should frankly be ashamed you haven’t already! The good: Fantastic graphics – The faces on the main characters are nothing short of breathtaking.

I’ve taken pictures of my monitor with my phone to show people, that’s how impressive they are! Fun, fluid combat – Once again you’re like some sort of super ninja who can switch between invisible stealth to outright tank only retreating to refill your suits power bar whilst hiding behind the nearest cover.

Then it’s back into the action again! Reasonably good storyline – I liked it right up until the last few bits, I thought the ending was too boring and the final boss far too dull for my liking. The bad: Short – The single player took me about 8 hours to complete and I really was taking my time wandering around and performing stealth fun kills rather than just running & gunning to get through it.

I’m not really complaining that it was 8 hours long, it felt long enough, but another couple of hours wouldn’t have hurt you know. It sure brings the pain to your GPU! I’ve got a GTX 680 and it wasn’t really enough for 2560×1600 on Very High so I managed to borrow my friend’s GTX 680 and ran it SLI which meant it was perfectly playable on Very High 😀 However anytime an in-game cutscene came on it dropped to 20 fps which was a real shame as it ruined the cutscenes a bit.

Classic SLI issue really. Anyway, it’s fun, buy it!.

If you know anything at all about Cryteks famous FPS series then youll find few surprises in the third installment of the Crysis series. To say that the graphics are breathtaking is a monumental understatement.

There were countless times where I stopped just to take in all the visual splendor the television screen was assaulting me with. Set in 2047, Crysis 3s version of a dilapidated New York City made me think of Mayan ruins with the streets and buildings reclaimed by nature.

After the awe-inducing setting became familiar and I actually had to get down to the business of saving the world or whatever cookie-cutter story was being thrown at me, the game started to lose a little of its appeal.

As a newcomer to the series, I feel that the story is rather generic and the characters are fairly forgettable. Dont mistake me: the voice-acting is great, the dialogue isnt too cheesy, and the facial animation leaves little to be desired.

But the entire time I was playing the campaign it felt like I was in a Michael Bay movie. For better or worse, it was just over-the-top sometimes. The designers take advantage of every opportunity they can to show off, either through constant explosions or the ever-present water that always seemed to be running down my HUD.

I get it, Im wearing a visor and you wanna show off how well you rendered water effects. Thanks. Fortunately, the campaign rapidly improves once you get past the first mission and youve become more comfortable with the nanosuit.

But where the game really shines outside of the graphics department is in the gameplay. This is especially apparent once you start to play multi-player. The ability to customize your weapon on-the-fly without having to pause the action is fantastic once you get the hang of it.

The abilities of the nanosuit that you wear are way more impressive than Master Chiefs Spartan armor. The ability to power jump, slide, cloak, vault, and basically parkour around during a firefight with other players who have the same capabilities is just plain fun! Crysis 3 may never usurp the multiplayer throne from the bigger guns, but there is enough depth and pleasure to be had here where itd be easy to lose track of time.

No review of Crysis 3 is complete without discussing the Predator Bow and how flippin sweet it is! Yes, its over-powered. Yes, it makes all the other already boring guns even more uninteresting. But who cares?! If you were a fan of Turoks bow on the N64 or you enjoy playing the Sniper class on Team Fortress 2, then youll have way too much fun with this weapon.

It appears that bows are becoming popular in entertainment, and that extends to games: Hawkeye in the Avengers movie, the new television series starring Green Arrow of all people, and all the artwork for the new Tomb Raider that depicts a roughed-up Lara Croft with bow in hand.

Instead of just falling into a trend, the bow is actually as cool as you would think, and even cooler on multiplayer when everyone can run around all cloaked and agile like a Predator from the movies.

Overall, Crysis 3 is a fantastic game. Its only when we start to dissect some of the particulars that we run into its shortcomings. And even those would probably not be half as disappointing if not for all the hype that was brewing around this games release.

Like most people, Crysis 3 was not my introduction to the series. I’d played previous installments and enjoyed them greatly, I was not at all opposed to the change from Jungle to Urban setting and was overjoyed when I heard Crysis 3 announced.

Sadly though, this failed to live up to expectations. The game play feels significantly more restricted (there’s a particular problem with using unplayable cutscenes to accomplish what the player could have by themselves).

The environments are not too varied and often come back to horrid, bland and grey as far as the eye can see. I wouldn’t even say it was a noticeable graphical improvement since 2. The story, without spoiling anything, is dreadful and frequent moments of “forced emotion” will make you feel uncomfortable as you’re meant to relate to 2d characters.

There’s also a quite heavy emphasis early in the campaign on stealth, no doubt to show off the only significant addition (The Predator Bow). The campaign will last you about 4-5 hours and I had to force myself to finish it, I see no reason to go back, even the few and far between set pieces aren’t worth showing off.

The multi-player is where the fun is, but it’s nothing you haven’t seen before. If you’ve played previous Crysis multi-player or even spent a significant amount of time in any Call Of Duty then you’ll find it uninspired.

I left my first negative review of this company in March of 2026. My update is as of January 2026 I still have not received my engine, nor have I been refunded my money. Yes I have emailed and emailed and emailed and the engine while still for sale on their website seems to be on backorder.

I would highly advise anyone considering making a purchase to find a different vendor as this company is aweful. I can not be convinced that they are “doing all they can” for me. Tired of waiting. will begin leaving weekly negative reviews until this has been resolved!.

The Lifan engine with 6:1 gearbox is a great engine for my use. I use them in a small racing car class for kids. The engines are, in my opinion, on the better end of the quality scale, than some other similar engines I have used.

I have had three running last year and will have three more this year.

Everything brand new for a great price. There was a small dent in gas tank but most likely happened in shipping. My application didn’t need the tank no big deal. The shipping package was well made with wood liners.

This game was such a treasure to find with it’s phenomonal music and graphics, engrossing gameplay, twisted plot, and the variety of characters possible to play. If anything, it has some of the best show of PS2 graphics I have seen-something to expect from a Square-Enix production.

The wind moving through the environments, the water trickling, the sort-of dream-like haze in the towns. It all culminates into an eye-pleaser if nothing else. But the gameplay and game engineering is also top quality.

The character designs are very diverse with many periods of time and cultures represented. There is a fairly even mix of female and male characters as well as classes like archers, light warriors, mages, ect.

The menu navigation and ability to load different game data at anytime (other than combat) is a serious perk that many take for granted. You can keep loading a game when you don’t get the einherjar you want until the randomized selection gives you the perfect group you are looking to adventure with.

The ability to instantly travel to any location on the map without lengthy travel from location to location keeps the pace nice and brisk giving you only what you want, buying equipment and battles. The difficulty is right where it needs to be, if you do a quick run game, you will have a tough time beating the boss.

It’s nice not to have leveling forced on you but rather as an elective thing so that you can get through the story when you want to. The battles are clever, mixing tactical RPG with action making it very engaging and actually fun.

There is a degree of button mashing, but then again, it’s not a static or boring as the your turn, my turn, cast a spell, drink a potion. It’s actually combat, like it should be. I can’t praise this game enough.

I don’t care how good the first was, it can’t be better than this one. This will certainly go down as a best title for the PS2. If I had any complaints, it would be the recycled voice-commentary for different einherjar and the fact that they really aren’t involved with the main story-line.

Oh, and since they would be stupid not to make a third one, customizable armor would have been the cream of the crop. Valkyrie Profile 2 is a solid offering for the last PS2 has to offer.

I played the original, Valkyrie Profile Lenneth, first (cos I’m like that when it comes to sequels, even though these stories are by and large unrelated) and got drawn in by the combat system and indepth storyline of that game.

Then I came to this game. I was disappointed by a few things. The storyline is not as gripping. The main characters are not as interesting. The secondary characters have no character, unlike the first installment, where EVERY character had a background.

I know that could occasionally get annoying in Lenneth, but here I found I actually wanted to have it. I’m not saying that I thought the story and characters sucked. If I can discuss it in terms relative to Final Fantasy (bear with me here), the level of storytelling was a bit better than FFXII, but not as good as FFVII or FFX.

It was in between, so I’d say pretty average for an RPG. It’s got all the classic elements though, kings and queens, knights, sorcerors etc. Another disappointment reared its ugly head as I played on.

I got increasingly frustrated with the accessory system. It was even more annoying than FFIX (sorry for all the FF comparisons, but hey, this is a Square Enix game, so surely you must have played some FF to be reading this?).

I wasted a lot of time changing accessories around to learn skills that in the end you don’t even really need!! The techs in this game are sadly quite pathetic in my opinion. Very few are worth our while 🙁 I also personally feel like there is no great reward for training and freeing your einherjars as there was in the first game.

Halfway through the game I was so disillusioned with the system that I just stopped training them and focussed on my mains. Not always the best choice, but hey. Up till now my review has been very negative.

Don’t be fooled. If you ignore the pitfalls I have mentioned before, this is actually a very good game. -The storyline is very streamlined, and you will not be easily confused, but you will be shocked and amused.

There are some good twists, but also some VERY predictable ones! -The music is pretty good. -The graphics are OUTSTANDING. Seriously. Some of the best you’ll see on the PS3. This is actually reason enough to give the game a go.

-The battle system has retained some of its charm from the first game. You still press the four auxiliary PS buttons to make each character attack, but some of the awesomeness of the original battles from Lenneth is lost.

For example, you don’t make exceedingly awesome hits anymore (which some of you might like anyway, as that presents a challenge). But some of the battle techs that work passively, such as First Aid, are LAME compared to what you had in Lenneth.

-Also good for all you RPG fans out there is the different system of encountering foes. No more random battles. You actually have some choice as to who you fight. Plus the whole freezing the monsters/souls thing leads to a whole lot of interesting puzzle solving.

It can be incredibly complex but I think that works to the game’s advantage. I think if you are an RPG fan you should get this game. If you’re not, maybe stick to the mainstream a bit more because the accessory system in this is complex.

But if you’re up for a challenge and a very unique (but ultimately flawed) gameplay experience, try this game out.

I think it’s easier just to list the good and bad for this game. If you’ve played the first valkyrie profile you should go for this one as well. Good: Amazing graphics on the ps2. The environments are 3d in 2d side scrolling style.

This does not tarnish the atmosphere, and you can see from some of the screenshots the graphics engine is consistent with alot of impressive effects. There is very little in the way of FMV, so if you’re a final fantasy newbie who likes his FMVs spoonfed often, this game isn’t for you! Great Gameplay System, with a combination of turn based and real time action.

Plenty of character development, and battles are always satisfying, whether you’re a button masher or a more strategic player. Some Bad: The story isn’t going to make you go wow. If you’re looking for a strong story, Valkrie Profile 2 doesn’t offer it, although it does have its nice share of twists.

The item system is alittle clunky, and requires patience, but is no big deal. This game rewards a second playthrough best, or if you’re attentive you can be rewarded on the first playthrough as well.

VP2 employs alot of little things like timing in attacks, sealstones, what your equipment is and what your skills are and how and when you release einherjar ALL contribute to whether your next boss battle will be very hard or a walk in the park.

Investment reaps rewards. VP2 rewards gamers who are prepared to go that extra mile and actually THINK about their strategy. The final fantasy series is a solid series but VASTLY overrated, so if you want a new direction but still want some JRPG goodness, VP2 is a great choice for the experienced and/or old school gamer.

Newbies to gaming. Perhaps its better you stick to final fantasy.

I purchased this game for my husband as a gift. He is very particular about his games. Difficult to impress. He likes a lot of action without a lot of complicated commands. This is a excellent game. I purchased it from the reviews and the video screening that was offered of it.

I would highly recommend this game to anyone who likes to race. There are several different types of race sites, and several different skill levels. It is action packed and even fun to watch! Impressive.

The perfect snack for on-the-go. Portable, convenient, quick protein. Half the fat of regular string cheese. I usually eat them by taking bites and chewing and swallowing, which takes about four bites.

but if you peel apart the strings, as you may remember having done as a child, it provides some entertainment value and prolongs the dining experience. The low moisture mozzarella’strings’ well.

My son and husband absolutely love this brand of cheese sticks. The flavor and consitancy is the right ratio. They make a great healthy snack, and don’t spoil as quick if you pack it for lunch in a lunch box.

They’re also a great price, specially if you buy it in bulk.

From having a PS2 I had a good collection of need for speed then when I upgr to the PS3 I had a few of these games and I had one very similar but a different title. Now on the PS4 the graphics are awesome and the driving is touch and go.

The only thing I find hard is how sensitive the steering is such as taking bends at moderate speeds so being chased by the police or vise versa you have to brake easy to take the bends good so you don’t plow into on coming traffic.

But apart from that I love it, so I guess the more I play it the better driver I’ll become. And yes. I Highly Recommend this game to all Need For Speed fans out there.

This is a fine addition to the Need For Speed franchise. My only complaint would be that this one, along with the others made for the PS4 and PS3 are single-player. I miss playing with friends. You can, of course, play online, but that’s not really my thing.

Good graphics, and good handling when you get the hang of where the heck you’re going, lol. Anyway, it’s a fine game.

Motocross racing gets physical in MX vs. ATV Alive; colliding with opponents is now a legitimate tactic rather than a cause of frustration and the action is significantly more exciting as a result. It’s not all good news in this scant sequel to MX vs.

ATV Reflex, though; there’s no structured career mode, there are no vehicle types beyond those mentioned in the title, and there are only two event types: Race and Free Ride. Additional features are promised in the form of downloadable content, but right now, this off-road offering barely does enough to justify even its seemingly attractive $40 price tag.

Climbing onto either a 125cc motocross bike or a 250cc quad in MX vs. ATV Alive as a level 1 rider can be daunting, particularly if you never played Reflex. Not only do you have to use both analog sticks to control your vehicle and rider independently of each other, but the game also makes no attempt to explain more advanced techniques: using the clutch to get off the start line quickly or to maintain speed through corners, or locking your seat bounce to preload for a jump, for example.

Regardless, it shouldn’t take you long to get a handle on the basics and start winning races. Collisions are commonplace, but where in previous games these would often end badly, here they can work to your advantage because it’s not uncommon to send an opponent to the dirt without taking a tumble yourself.

Major mishaps aside, anytime you’re in danger of falling off your ride, you’re afforded an opportunity to recover by quickly flicking the right analog stick in the direction indicated onscreen to maintain your balance.

It’s the same system that was used in Reflex, and it works well; races are far less frustrating when you’re not falling off after every mistake and you’re not punished for riding aggressively. At the end of every race, both you and your currently selected vehicle earn experience points and levels.

Leveling up unlocks all manner of extra customization options. These include new paint jobs, performance-improving parts for your vehicles, and licensed rider gear. There are also rider abilities that, once equipped in the two available slots, can make it easier to prevent spills, knock opponents out of the way, or recover from falls, for example.

There’s even an ability that increases the number of experience points you receive after every race as well, which is very useful when you’re eager to unlock the tracks that don’t become available until you reach levels 10 and 25.

Whether performing tricks or waiting at the start gate, riders and vehicles are reasonably detailed, and though track surfaces occasionally appear pixilated, the environments also look good when you’re racing through them at speed.

The most impressive aspect of the visuals, which also has an impact on gameplay, is that tracks get increasingly deformed and believably torn up by the bikes and ATVs as races progress, sprinkling every lap with a little welcome unpredictability.

MX vs. ATV Alive is a better racing game than its predecessor, but sadly, it’s not nearly as good a value proposition. Even after you spend several hours unlocking all that it has to offer, this is a game that’s sorely in need of more content.

It’s coming, but rather than adding to an already fully featured game, here, it’s hard not to feel like DLC will merely bring it closer to being the game it should’ve been from day one.

good alternative to all the shooting games out there. graphics are good. One can level up easily but not so easy. different levels of play easy-difficult. can race others. good value. I got brand new.

This game is super fast. Lots of fun for me and my husband. The controls are easy to navigate there are different levels of play for everyone. You do have to reach achievements to unlock levels and tricks, but overall the general gameplay is great.

The best NFS since Most Wanted & Carbon, and it definitely lives up to the expectations those games left us with in all areas except the story, which was a bit lackluster. but not the worst there has been in a NFS game (much better than NFS 2015 & Payback).

The physics are fantastic, feels like a fully refined version of Payback’s physics, completely fixing the unpredictableness of Payback, and actually requiring skill to do well in. Drifting is not as easy as you’d expect for an arcade racer, but is rewarding and fun.

Sense of speed is finally back, I don’t think I’ve ever felt like I was moving as fast as I have in NFS Heat before. Cops are great and they’re brutal, but also pretty fair. If you’re quick and have a fast car, ducking through multiple back alleys is a good way to lose them.

and they do put up a really good fight. Anyone saying that they’re too hard shouldn’t be playing a NFS game and needs to go play Forza Horizon (a good game in it’s own right) without cops instead. The map is beautiful and fun to drive in with lots of secret places/shortcuts/alternate routes, as well as having billboards to smash (reminds me of Burnout Paradise) and other free roam activities like drift zones, long jumps, and speed traps.

Heat feels like a combination of the best parts of Most Wanted, Carbon, and Underground. paired with NFS 2015 and Paybacks excellent customization, with a bit of Burnout Paradise thrown in in terms of free-roam activities.

Overall- absolutely recommend the game. Ghost games listened to what the community wanted over the course of NFS 2015 and Payback, and delivered in almost every area this time. Really looking forward to seeing where this takes the NFS series.

It’s starting to feel like the good old NFS games we played as kids again.

The game overall is pretty good. But in order to increase reputation, you have to drive the events at night. This also increases the likelihood of being chased by cops which are nearly impossible to shake.

It seems no matter how fast or how well you drive, they can keep up with you or pass you. They only have to drive next to you to bust you, which means you could be doing 180 mph and they can still bust you.

When you do get busted/wrecked they take at least $30,000 of your money. So, all told the game is decent but it is completely ruined by the excessive cops.

I have played every NFS. From the early series defining 90s exotic racers, the shift to street racing, MOST WANTED 2005, attempt at cannonball run with The Run, failure in sim racing with Shift 1 and 2, the forgettable Most Wanted and Hot Pursuit reboots, then the interesting yet forgettable NFS 2015 and Payback.

The last two games were mighty disappointing, but they served their purpose. Heat is definitely a return to a decent handling model, cheesy storytelling that defined the series since NFS Undeground and perfected in Most Wanted 05, and a great setting.

Only issue is longetivity of this game once you complete the main campaign as you can’t jump into online lobbies to search worldwide for races. Instead you are placed in a hub (open world) where you can only invite or be invited by other racers to participate in a race.

Absolutely awful system. GTSport and Forza Horizon 4 stay in rotation because of the physics and the online aspect. Heat doesn’t have the driving physics to make tuning and driving cars rewarding on its own.

Without the campaign to drive the momentum, the game does lose steam. But during that time, it is probably one of the best arcade racing experiences I have had in a while. Crew 2 was absolute trash and Forza Horizon 4 took a while to grow on me before I fell in love.

Thing is I’m done with Heat after 20hrs, while I’m going 741hrs strong in FH4. Either way, a worthy successor to NFS greats.

It needed a log in after I had written. It is great game paired with core 2 duo e5200 wolfdale. Crysis is a good game to play in a retro pc. It is a kind of war training game. Only if the suit was real.

It utilizes r7 250 4gb graphic card to its limit. Whether it is not 4gb or is, does not matter anymore. The game push its limit usage and can not even get over the 50 fps. That is enough and that will be the day and for mr also.

Crysis was released a few years back and was way ahead of its time graphically speaking without having an expensive games rig. I bought it on the release date and never managed to run it properly until recently when i got a new computer, which is a basic spec acer machine for a couple of hundred quid.

I can now play it in high settings and appreciate the rich environments which you can destroy. The basic plot is you are part of an elite army unit sent in to recover kidnapped scientists but they’ve unearthed some aliens.

So now you have to take out aliens in addition to the bad guys swarming all over the island. Fortunately, you have a special suit that increases various abilities such as strength, speed etc. Game controls are intuitive and there are various ways of taking out an enemy encampment.

A refreshing first person shooter. You can get this game for a few quid now which represents huge entertainment value. Once you’re through with the game you can play various additional maps or even have a go creating your own.

First of all you need a capable graphics card to run this game and a fast computer. I use a GTS 450 graphics card installed in an AMD 64×2 Dual core 4800+ computer. I don’t normally play PC games but I read lots of reviews that praised this game so I thought I would give it a go.

I was not disappointed. The graphics and game play were stunning and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I can recommend it and I am now looking to get Crysis 2 for the PC. The only issue I had playing the game was in one of the levels.

I had seemingly killed all the targets but the game thought otherwise and would not let me progress to the next level and I was stuck – I had to quit the game and try that level again! After reading about known bugs (on the internet) that sometimes happens in this game, I downloaded the latest software fix and then I had no problems for the remainder of the game.

Unfortunately, the software fix was about 350MB and hence it took several hours to download it off the website.

This was the last 2k game that I enjoyed. The career mode was solid but there were some issues, the major one being that the game freezes at some point during your second year and then you can’t resolve the issue.

Full season of lost progress, infuriating. Also some issues with your player roles and minutes that you can’t resolve, and the GM interactions were decent at best.

To put it simply, the best just got better! In terms of gameplay on the court, the changes are noticable, but not that huge. A large amount of new animations makes the players feel more unique and real.

Size-ups and new dribbles also bring in a lot of new tools on the offensive end. Pounding the boards is a bit more predictable and a lot more stat dependant, so you won’t have a 7 foot center lose a loose ball to a point guard.

It’s also easier to set up plays and general playstiles with 2ksmartplay and points of emphasis. Regarding the modes, theres almost too much to do. The mycareer is simply fantastic. Best career mode I’ve ever seen in a sports game.

Myteam is insanely fun, but can be a cheesefest online. I haven’t had the chance to play a league online but the sliders and tools are downright insane. MyGM is also fantastic, but my time with it was brief.

All in all, best sports game ever! Some improvements over 2k14 aren’t visible at first, and some issues remain, but this is so much more than a roster update. Must-have for any fan of the game of hoops.

NBA 2K series has long been my first choice (for a few years it was the only game on the market) for basketball games. This years installment doesn’t disappoint as well. The gameplay AI has been revamped and is in the best shape of the series history.

If you want to play with the Spus like coach Pop intended, then this is the first year you can actually do it. The other thing that gets my praise is the MyGM and MyCareer modes, that also have seen vast changes and you get lost in there for hours.

And as usual, 2K has improved the visuals year by year to make the game look even better. Even though this years changes haven’t been so mind blowing, they are still noticeable and make the game run more smoothly.

So to sum up, if you’re looking for the basketball game to play either on the new gen consoles, pc or your old PS3, then NBA 2K15 is the right way to go.

So this was my first FIFA game in a good while. Took some time researching which one was the best in the last ten years as these games come out each year and not much changes to them. So was definitely looking for something different.

FIFA 17 rose to the top because it was the first time the game was powered by the frost bite engine. Having played other games powered by frost bite, I knew this would be a good thing. Overall the game is well done.

Nothing new except smoother animation as a result of the engine. The only major draw back is the lack of a tutorial when it comes to understanding what needs to be done during the skills challenges. Just it tells you press O or X to shoot or pass the ball but other than that, no other info on how to get a great challenge score.

Maybe if I had previous titles this would have been explained. Anywhom I would not pass up on this game as the reviews show that years 18,19,20, and 21 are not all that great. 22 should be for next gen console so thats a different story.

Let me say that I am not a soccer player by any means, nor had I ever played soccer video games before. I wanted to try this game when I saw it being played on Youtube. The first impression was that it wasn’t too hard to pick up and play.

By that I mean, having never played a soccer game, I learned the controls very quickly. The layout of the controls is very simple, which I believe is perfect to bring in those like myself. The two key game modes I grew to love were the Ultimate Team and the Career Mode featuring Alex Hunter.

The Ultimate Team is something that I as a kid basically had been doing with other sports games my whole life. Allowing you to build a team with players from different squads is so much fun. Especially since you spend, in-game currency to acquire some of these said players.

The more you play and win with your team, the more currency you can obtain and the more currency you obtain, the higher rated players can be yours. The opportunities and games are endless with this mode.

The Career Mode featuring Alex Hunter is so well done. It’s like watching a movie/tv show unfold, but you get to play a part of it. You being able to control one player’s career instead of a whole team really is enticing.

I can’t speak enough about how this mode keeps me coming back. All in all this game is amazing. Even if you aren’t into soccer or know anything about it, I recommend you try this game. Countless hours of fun come with it.

I think FIFA 17 is a great game as it offers a wide variety of game modes, all in one game for a very cheap price. The biggest feature added to this game is the in game player faces. These new player faces make the game feel more realistic as when I was playing FIFA 16 last year, I could not tell who a lot of the players were.

This made FIFA 16 not good but EA Sports, like every year, managed to correct their mistakes so that mostly every player on the game can be recognised in the game. This little feature has a big impact to the game and lifts its status as one of the biggest football games in the world.

This also enhances the quality of FIFA 17 and makes it stand out more than the previous game. In my opinion, FIFA 17 has the best graphics out of all the football games as the style of play is much better than their rivals Konami.

The flow of the game is much faster and makes it feel like you are actually playing in a real match. I also like the new feature added to FIFA Ultimate Team called FUT Champions. This game mode allowed a lot of FIFA pro players to show their true ability against some of the biggest pro players in the world.

It also allowed people who were not good at the game to try and get better at the game. I loved it as I qualified and did pretty well. In conclusion, I felt that FIFA 17 is a fantastic game and it is also my favourite game as it is very enjoyable to play and I don’t get bored of it because there is so much to do for only £50.

The game is worth every penny.
