20 Best Game Console For Seniors (2023 Updated)

Bought for me son’s birthday. He is 34. He had a lot of old nentdo games. He love to play years ago and had nothing to play them on. The picture is very clear. He is very happy with this unit. Players on his 70 inche flat screen.

Looks great.

The item I purchased is the Hyperkin RetroN 2: 2-1 Console, Retro Gaming. It has been very satisfactory. We went with this because we didn’t need a system that 3 different systems. This fits well in our gaming system.

Lightweight, handy, and works very well. Thank You.

So the machine arrived on time for Christmas, and my kids were excited when they opened the box. We read and followed the instructions, and then, surprise, nothing works. I would highly advise against buying this machine.

I really regret this purchase and should have just bought a switch and downloaded the retro games from there.

Playing this console brings back a lot of memories, and most of the games I have for it I cannot find anywhere else. The graphics are just as you remember them from the ’80’s and ’90’s 8-bit and 16-bit consoles.

So, don’t order this console expecting to have updated graphics like a Playstation 4. Your cartridges don’t support that. The only pain is that you have to use a different controller and that controller port to play each of the different games from the NES, SEGA, or SNES.

Ordered the SUPER RETRO-CADE as cheapest I had seen anywhere plus free delivery with through Zavvi red carpet. came quickly, easily in time for Christmas, great little mini console many classic arcade games to play, like 1943, Final Fight 1,2 and 3, Forgotten Worlds, Strider and many others, had loads of fun with son (whos 20) playing the 2 player games into the early hours of the morning when wife (nurse) was on nightshift! Would definitely recommend to anyone who fondly remembers Arcades and the classic games in them, very easy to use and loads of mostly great games.

one thing to mention though is there is a USB lead for power, however there is no plug, I just used a 3 way USB plug I had which i use to charge phones and this worked fine.

This is a plug and play and is about the same size as the NES plug and plays. The design is kind of generic. This game system does have some advantages. Positives: –You can add your own games up to about 600K in side –The controller cord is 10 feet long –The pack in games are all good games; no shovelware here –The box this comes in is sleek and nicely designed.

–Easy to use menu and interface –SD slot –AV outputs if you want to play these games on a CRT TV Now for the negatives: –The controllers that come with the system are of terrible quality. One of them did not even work out of the box.

–A lot of games are mapped to buttons that are not intuitive to a gamer and remapping is a chore and does not always work. –The games are all defaulted to stretch to the size of your screen. –You have to go into the menu for EACH GAME to set them to original size.

There is no way to do this at a global level. –There is a lag when playing on an HDMI cable that is noticeable. It is almost a 1 second delay which sucks for gaming. –The games themselves suffer from slow down.

–The sound on many of the games that are bundled with the system are not close to their arcade or game system counterparts –Most games I added, while playable, did not work well on my TV. This is a systemfor someone who is a casual gamer and wants to relive their childhoods once in a great while.

The CPU for this is slow and clunky and the controllers are garbage. This has nothing to offer that someone can’t get out of a RetroPi. The only real advantage to this is that it is easy to navigate and use.

I should have bought this one first. Plays my classic Genesis Games/Mega Drive/110 in 1 modern cartridges. HDMI is pointless, 16bit is not HD, so I’m not wasting an HDMI slot. Buy an AV cable splitter so you can have multiple old school systems hooked up at once.

I think this was a great deal and I would recommend it without hesitation. I bought a bogus clone console at first and the thing wouldn’t even power on. This one just has a micro USB cable plugged into a phone charger.

I was just happy it played all 16bit Sega cartridges, but I wish I’d ordered an extra controller. This is the real deal clone console, so don’t try to save a few bucks like I did and end up getting burned.

I imported one of these and I don’t regret it at all. Gameplay is true to original and there is zero input lag when connected to a CRT television. I did experience lag on my HDTV via HDMI but it could be the TV not the console.

Also, certain games look really bad when scrolling horizontally due to the scaler not taking into account that resolution mode. I have not noticed it being an issue on the CRT though. One more thing – the included controller is FANTASTIC.

In fact it’s better than an official six button controller. Overall, I highly recommend for CRT users but I’d think carefully before purchasing for the HDMI output.

I played all of my old cartridge sports games and they play amazing on my 70 inch 4k tv. The system has a high quality feel and so does the controller. Great product from Hyperkin!!! I will be buying another console.

Lighter than a 3DS but not at all flimsy, still feels sturdy. The speakers being positioned at the bottom rather than the top does not bother me at all (I have small hands. A person with very big hands might accidentally cover them up while playing.

But the audio is best experienced with headphones anyways). Wish the stylus was a little longer. Comparing the graphics of the 3DS and 2DS side by side, there isn’t much of a difference. The 2DS does not have the 3D feature, but the only game I can think of that actually benefits from that feature is Kid Icarus.

It’s not a feature you’ll miss. I prefer the New 2DS’s matte finish over the 3DS’s glossy finish; fingerprints and smudges don’t show up as easily. I also prefer the New 2DS’s button and screen layout over the 3DS’s.

It’s flat and does not have the 3DS’s beveled edges around the bottom screen, so there are no nooks and crannies for dust to get trapped in. It’s very easy to clean. Games have been running well. Runs both 3DS games and old DS games.

As refurbished products should be, everything is clean and in its original packaging. Overall very happy with this. If you’re shopping for a New 3DS XL and finding them too pricy, absolutely consider getting a New 2DS XL instead if you don’t need the 3D features.

I ordered this 2DS and was very exited, seeing it so clean, new and functional only to have it die on me 4 days later. The DS was light and flimsy but I thought that was just the way it was made and dismissed it.

Later on, while I was playing animal crossing I noticed some of the buttons were late to respond. Later on it just kept bugging out, turning off and showed an error screen. When I tried to turn it off and pressed the power button, the screen went black but the lights indicating wifi and power were still on.

After trying for a while, it still hasnt turned on or completely off. This product was cheap, and unsatisfactory.

Since I already have the 3DS-XL, and the Vanilla 2DS (slab), I decided to buy the New 2DS XL simply because of the price and wanted to have it for collection purposes. Once I saw how light and compact it is, this has actually replaced my New 3DS-XL and has become my main system to enjoy 3DS and old-school 2DS games.

The New 2DS-XL features a black and blue matte finish which I rather like. The system is much thinner this time. The edges are more comfortable to hold for longer, and the top lid is lighter which allows for a more secure hold.

Forget the wabbleness from the 3DS-XL. The buttons and joysticks have slightly been moved but they are still well placed and have a nice tactile and responsive feel to them. The game cartridge and memory card slots now have a cover, which I appreciate since it keeps the bay free of dust.

On the 3DS-XL, the back cover had to be removed in order to get to the memory card, which was very inconvenient. The speakers have been moved to the bottom instead of the top lid. I really do not use them since I’d rather use headphones, but they are not as loud and can cause the system to vibrate while in use.

The screens are slightly dimmer but this is really unnoticeable while playing. The resolution remains the same. Of course, the 3D effect has been removed and, while I miss it quite a bit, I was still able to enjoy titles that heavily rely on that.

Another strange decision from Nintendo was that the stylus is extremely small. I mean, it’s like trying to use a pencil that has been sharpened to 4 times its size -yes, it’s that awkward and uncomfortable.

Good thing I hardly use it. In the end, I still prefer the New 2DS-XL just because of the form factor. It is very light, comfortable to hold and can actually fits in my back pocket easily -making it very portable.

Plus, at the price I was able to get it, I don’t have to worry as much while carrying it around. It is a great value -especially since Nintendo included Mario Kart 7. I’d recommend jumping on it before it is gone forever!.

This is my 3rd ps4 and will be my last. Gets hot too fast like real fast. I’m on for an hour and it starts to freeze and this isn’t the only concern when it comes to the ps4. Every ps4 I’ve had has the same issue’s and I’ve spent way too much cash on Sony and it feels like this is a MONEY grab since I Keep having to get repairs and replacements for the PS4 and frankly it’s getting old.

let me get into the PS4 issue’s. Gets way too hot 🔥, freezes, crashes & doesn’t last long until it NEEDS replaced or repairs. Rest mode is a mess and downloading can cut off while in rest mode and the downloading and copying nonsince is 🐌 slow.

Like 16+ hour’s if your internet isn’t fast. the airflow clogs easily compared to my ps2 and xbox360 and the ps4 sounds like an airplane in turbulence. The storage gets corrupt easily if you have too many thing’s going on the ps4.

The warranty for the PS4 only lasts a short while and it doesn’t cover the majority of issue’s this console has and if you buy digital game’s don’t expect a refund after the 14 day time line. Why do console warranties only last a year is beyond me and most consoles need work after two years realistically.

it would be nice to have a 7 year warranty on these consoles because apparently their life span is supposed to be 7 years with my ps4s it’s been like 1 1/2 year’s until issues come up. I hardly play on my ps4 and I deeply regret buying this console and getting digial game’s That I can’t get money back for.

Before you buy any gaming systems do your homework. I sure didn’t know this was going to cost me so much for so little joy.

I’ve gotten 2 Xbox one X from this 232 inc refurb-company. And they have been mint, and run very well (and quiet). Decided okay I’ll get a Pro since mine bit the dust a while back, it was a God Of War SE.

The top came off when I picked it up, it looked like my cats had been on top of it, scratched up horribly. It ran so loud I had to shut it off twice because I really thought it was going to just blow up.

The wireless didn’t work, and it just felt like a used piece of junk overall. Not saying they’re all like that, but they are older consoles. So I wasn’t surprised as they don’t sell the newer quieter models from about 2018 or so with the small plugs.

So be cautious if you get one, luckily you’re local Target will return it no problem.

This is an okay console for gaming and exclusives but if you want a more stable experience the Xbox one x is more consistent when it comes to even basic things such as being able to connect to the internet.

This is my second PlayStation and it literally will not connect to my WiFi no matter how much I trouble shoot, change my DNS settings, attempt to set it up with WPS. This console is a serious frustration and let down when it comes to just connecting to the internet.

Unless you can hardline your PlayStation I probably wouldn’t recommend this console for online gaming, it’s quite terrible about randomly disconnecting even in those rare instances it works as it’s supposed to.

Sony seriously oversells this console and basically lies on their website about it being a 4K gaming console. It upscales to 4K with checkerboarding, which is hardly true 4K. If I could go back I’d save my money.

PlayStation is more and more subpar as the generations progress. Take for instance the PlayStation 5 consoles aren’t even all the same, some have a different number of fan blades causing some consoles to be way louder than others.

Pretty unacceptable from a corporation with the resources like Sony has. Pathetic console performance overall and sub par internet capabilities. Definitely not worth $400.

As a lover of old 8-bit NES games, I was happy to discover that there was an HD edition of Hyperkin’s Retron console. The console was easy to set up and I was playing my old carts in a few minutes. It displays in 720p and it looks good on my 4k TV.

The only nitpick I have is that some of the colors seem a bit off from what the games looked liked on my old NES. That’s only a minor nitpick and it’s been awesome to play some old games and relive a little of my childhood.

I highly recommend this console to any retro gaming enthusiast.

I own a PS5 and I am terribly happy with it, yet I feel it was worth getting an Xbox Series X as well. The Series X is a more powerful machine, and also the Gamepass service makes it doubly worth getting (there are a lot of games on GamePass that are not on PS Plus and vice versa).

I like how all my saves were kept in my Microsoft account in the cloud so I could seamlessly transition from playing my Xbox One games on my Xbox 1 X to playing it on this platform. Xbox Series X does Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos sound as well, so it takes advantage of my home theater’s full potential.

Lastly, I sold my Xbox Series S to upgrade to this one. I don’t miss it at all. If you are in a dilemma about whether to get the Series S now or save up to buy a Series X, don’t make the mistake I did.

Get the Series X! The Series S won’t play your Xbox One games as it is all-digital, and that infuriated me, owning so many XBox One game already. If you already have an Xbox One, and a library of games, then you already have a library set for this console, and they will play better in all cases, and even considerably better if it says “Optimized for Series X” on the back of your disc case.

I also want to note that there are many Xbox 360 and original Xbox games that you can play on this machine (theydon’t cover all of them, but a lot). I was impressed that I could play HAWX for Xbox 360 and it not only played a little more smoothly, but also I could use my Xbox One/ Series S flight controller.

At $500. 00 it does seem pricey at first, but I look at it this way– my $1000. 00 gaming pc is not even capable of playing some graphics-intensive games like Elden Ring, and this console is. And it plays a lot of the games I play on pc noticeably better.

And on that note, if you get gamepass for pc and console and download a pc game, in some cases if there is a corresponding Series X version of it, you can alternate between the two on the same game save.

Oh, wow. The only reason I might persuade someone against buying this first, or buying instead of a PS5 is if you like the Sony Exclusive games like Spider-Man, Horizon Forbidden West, and the Uncharted series.

Then definitely get a PS5 first (or instead) unless your passion in life is to play Halo 12 when it comes out.

X Box is one of the most, if not THE most popular console out there. With this, MS rode a tidal wave of hype to their next unit, the X series. Unfortunately it seems that was all hype and huff as there are not a lot of upgrades that make this box so wonderful.

If anything one would call the changes DOWNgrades. For starters, there is no interface for virtual anything, and it appears MS is not going to add any, anytime soon. Another very disappointing item is they took the sPdif out of the box !! The old X box had digital – optical sound, which is far superior to conventional sound IMO as it does not pick up ANY processor noises or other static / hiss etc.

The X version does not have sPdif out, so now you have to go and buy a 20 dollar splitter to split it out of the HDMI stream, convert it, and then plug it back into your cable to route to your stereo like your ‘old system’ was wired.

Why would anyone decide to eliminate that? NOT COOL !! Yes you could just route the sound thru the hdmi cable but for those who have projectors and surround amps separately, this becomes a big deal. It was fairly easy to set up and play however those two items right there make it NOT worth all the hype and huge dollars you are paying for it.

especially removing the digital sound !! They cut corners, raised the price and hyped it to the moon. Im surprised they didn’t offer a free copy of Microsoft Windows ME version with it 🙁 Overall not very happy.

Is it playable yes, but very disappointing.

This console is what they say it is and more! The graphics on this console from games that are optimized or made for the Series X is above par and well worth its weight in Gold! The speed of it is like they bottled of The Flash and put him to work inside! The lock isn’t as sleek as the PS5’s air purifier look but with a good Skin it turns out to be an awesome addition to my entertainment center.

Here is the breakdown! Graphics: If you are moving from the original xbox or xbox one to the series x you will notice a huge difference in graphics even on a TV that isn’t built for 4K viewing. If you are moving from the One X to the Series X you will notice some changes only to the games that are built or Optimized for the Series X but all games feel better with the speed you gain.

Overall the Series X is on par to compete with most gaming PC’s that are currently out there and once developers start taking advantage of everything the Series X has to offer I will be surprise if it doesn’t beats some gaming PC’s on the market today.

Right now I give the graphics 4. 8 out of 5 stars but will probably be 5 stars within a year. ‘ Speed: Only gaming PC’s that have the new PCI4. 0 SSD’s are as fast loading as the Series X with its games.

To have a game load within 15 seconds that normally would take 60s or more on other gen xbox’s is beautiful!! And that isn’t even talking about the games that support the awesome “quick resume” feature.

This feature is something that you don’t know you wanted till you start using it!! The quick resume alone is a selling point for Microsoft and their Series X/S consoles. Speed is beautiful in a world that is always moving.

I would give the speed a 5 out of 5 star!! If they can learn to make the loading times even faster then boy are we in for some great experiences in the future! Games: This is where, as of now, I have to say I wish there was more to offer! Game Pass alone is awesome for those who are new to xbox.

They will have 100’s of games available the day they turn on their console that they could experience for the 1st time and that is by far better than any gaming console on the market today. However, if you are looking for exclusive games that are new look great and feels great then there currently isn’t much being offered by Microsoft.

With their dozens of gaming studios they purchased over the past 5 or so years lets hope that is about to change and come E3 2021 we finally get a list of games that will make anyone want to go out and buy a Series X!!.

How does microsoft’s entry level offering into the next gen realm stack up and is it worth it? Since I currently own all three of the xbox one x, series s and series x (seriously microsoft can you get any lazier with the naming?) I thought I would take a second to give my two cents on the series s console as it compares and relates to its xbox brethren.

So first off what exactly is the Xbox Series S and where does it fit into the rest of the Xbox family? The Series S is one of microsoft’s two new next gen (current gen by now?) consoles as it looks to phase out the older Xbox One models.

Its serves as the entry level next gen console sorta like the little brother to the much more powerful, flagship Series X console. Basically an all digital, disc free upgrade to the older Xbox One family.

It brings advancements such as ray tracing, 3d audio, nvme ssd and faster gpu at the cost of storage and performance. In all honesty, the little brother doesn’t really play in the same league as its bigger brother so its actually much more logical to compare it to the One X since both price and performance falls into a much closer spectrum to see if its worth upgrading for you.

PROS:- The new Xbox Series S brings a host of advancements over the previous console cycle. Primarily and most obviously noticeable is that it is faster. Like, much faster. In fact that is the first thing everyone that has used mine says within the first 5 minutes.

The new console clocks in with a GPU that is 393Mhz faster than a One X as well as a CPU that is roughly 1. 5x faster. Add to that advanced NVME SSD and load times are drastically cut down from older consoles, so much so that it is seriously hard to sit and stare at loading screens for more than 20 seconds anymore.

Beyond that the Series S also offers support for ray tracing along with twice the refresh rate at 120hz. Another under appreciated upgrade is support for 3D spatial audio, if you haven’t experienced Dolby Atmos yet you are missing out! You also get the newer version of the Xbox wireless controller and much improved app support for all your streaming needs.

All of this at price that is much more palatable than the Series X and about that of a new One X (if you can find one). Add to that full backwards compatibility for both gaming and hardware and you can see the many benefits to upgrading.

However, that price point does come at some compromises. CONS:- There are some trade offs to having a reasonable price point and smaller profile. Primarily the Series S is not a true 4k console. Output resolution is limited 1440p compared to 4k capabilities of the One X.

However don’t forget you have a much faster refresh rate which leads to far smoother gameplay and that is going to be much noticeable than the dip in resolution which really requires a higher end tv to make a difference.

Another big difference is the obvious lack of a disc drive. Given the push towards digital gaming this may or may not matter to you, but any older games you still have on disc are basically useless and forget about using it as your 4k blu ray player.

Although you can still access streaming services such as Netflix etc. Lastly for a system that is all digital you are definitely going to run into memory storage issues. With 512Gb of internal storage off the shelf there is going to be constant shuffling of what games you keep installed on your system.

Considering most games are now in the 50-75Gb range and can often be much higher this could be quite the issue. VERDICT:- In conclusion the Series S is definitely a step up and into the next console generation.

Although the resolution is actually lower than an older One X model this is not truly noticeable unless you have a very good newer TV. What is very noticeable is the processing speed and 120Hz refresh rate which any gamer will tell you makes a much bigger difference to the overall experience and the Series S shines here.

And until you actually experience it you can’t imagine the huge difference the loading times make, it is like old school dial up compared to 5g internet. Once you get used to it you really can’t go back.

So depending on what your budget and requirements are the Series S is totally and upgrade to the One X and unless you have spent $1000+ on a tv that is no more than year old and have another $600+ to spend on the flagship Series X this might very well be the console for you! A great way to experience the benefits of next gen gaming without breaking the bank.

Honestly, the Series S isn’t really my thing. The purchase came mainly for my partner and our kids, who see great use out of it. It offers a good price > performance ratio and will likely keep many people happy, though as I’m more of an enthusiast with the hobby, had I been purchasing for myself, I’d have gone with a Series X or a PS5 as I already have a more than capable enough for my needs PC for gaming.

Given my partner and kids don’t particularly care for tinkering with graphical options, framerate / performance or resolution, they get a lot out of this purchase. It has a modern look and small form factor, which means it fits nicely within our entertainment centre.

If yours isn’t too open, I’d consider sticking it on the surface / top of your TV stand to retain good airflow and disperse heat more efficiently. I think the two main killers for me with this one despite mainly being on PC and why I wouldn’t purchase it for myself, is the lack of an optical drive for one, which I feel was one of consoles greatest strengths, the ability to purchase digitally or physically was a big boon that I feel consumers lose with this model.

That, and the paltry 512GB of space which, actually comes down to around 370GB or so after UI and OS is accounted for, just isn’t good enough. This is a system that’ll sell itself on being a cheap entry point into Game Pass yet so many games these days average at around 50 – 60GB + and some in Microsoft’s first-party portfolio are in the 100GB range.

I know these consoles are sold at a loss, but the lack of extra space and the fact that a 1TB compatible SSD will set you back another £200? I’d say just go for the Series X if you’re more than casual / light gamer.

You’ll retain the option to purchase physical games and have more than enough storage for the price of entry. All in all, it’s a good casual system at a great price point that’ll work out quite well I imagine for teens, children and people within your family that game lightly.

For those more invested in the hobby, I’d say wait for or try to find a Series X instead should you be in a position to afford it as the benefits, which aren’t only an optical drive and storage space, we’re talking a big performance bump here, offset the cast massively.

The Series S is a fantastic little machine for the money Microsoft is asking for. It supports all new releases going forward in this upcoming generation of games (albeit with some minor graphical and performance cutbacks here and there), Xbox One titles, and select 360/OG xbox games via an incredible backwards compatibility program.

You can rest assured that when you purchase this machine you’ll have one of the most robust libraries of content available on any console bar none. You can also take advantage of Gamepass, a service that really is the closest you can get to the Netflix of games.

With all that high praise, why did I give this a 4 star rating instead of 5? Here is where the concessions made in order to deliver a $300 box with built in ray tracing hardware, supports for 120fps output, SSD storage, all while being smaller than the previous generation’s slim model come into play.

The Series S does not have a disc drive. If you have a physical collection of Xbox One titles you were hoping to carry into the next generation, this is not the box for you. This is an all digital machine through and through.

High frame rates come at the cost of lower resolutions. The Series S supports 4k HDR video streaming as well as HDR gaming, but most games forego higher resolutions for stable 60 or even 30 fps experiences in most cases.

120fps is on the plastered on the outside of the retail box, but apart from select multiplayer titles and provided you have a TV that even supports the frame rate, you likely won’t be doing much gaming at 120fps.

This machine is best played, and perhaps designed to be played, on 1080p screens. Lastly we come to storage. The internal SSD does wonders for the user experience. Menus, boot ups, and loading for optimized games are suitably quick.

Problem is despite the packaging stating the console comes with 500GB of storage, the operating system takes up a large chunk of that leaving you with little more than 300GB of useable storage. Microsoft sells SSD expansion cards to alleviate this some, but at the current eye watering price of $220 for and extra 1TB of SSD storage you may be asking yourself, “why not save the money I would spend on the console plus the memory and instead get the Series X for $500 or better yet the PS5 Digital Edition for $400?” That leads to the conclusion and the biggest selling point for the Series S by far, availability.

Both Series X & PS5s are expected to be hard to find products till at least 2023 due to the ongoing global chip supply shortage. If you want to play the newest releases, don’t mind playing them at lower resolutions and frame rates, if having a fewer number of installed games isn’t a huge inconvenience for you, then this could be the perfect console to buy right now and tide you over until availability for the more powerful machines gets better.

This revised model of the Switch comes with a number of features that I honestly can’t fully appreciate as someone who didn’t own the previous model. The big thing that drew me in was the extended battery life, even though so far I haven’t played much in handheld mode and not at all in tabletop, but they use the same amount of battery either way I would imagine.

The reason I’m giving this system five stars probably say more about how good it is than anything else. But I pretty much expected as much. I’m sure by now you can go online and find more detailed reviews for the gaming system, but in case you’re wondering here, this one comes with the system, two gray joycons, two attachments to turn each joycon into its own controller, a base to connect both joycons into the formation of a singular controller, the required cables, and the Switch dock.

So you’ll probably want to buy a few things alongside this such as an SD card for reasonable storage space, a pro controller for a more standard controller experience, maybe a dock sleeve to prevent the possibility of scratching the screen from insertion and ejection of the system, an online pass if you plan to play any games with online features.

just basically a lot of things that would be nice if they came with the system itself. This will inflate the price further, but the thing here is that this is going to replace the old models of the Switch and simply make this the main one manufactured now.

So. basically, if you want a cheaper Switch you’ll want to get a Switch Lite and this one will still cost about 300 bucks like the 2. 5+ year-old original variant still costs. That is, unless you want to go used.

I’m only bringing up these points because while this is a great system, I do think you should be aware of what is likely to happen with prices and availability going forward and plan accordingly. Once I realize a Switch was still going to cost the same if I wanted the ability to do on and off TV play I decided I might as well just hop on board with this newer variant.

I’d recommend you do the same as it has had tweaks to make it just a slightly better version all around than the previous model. Otherwise, if price is a concern, wait for the Switch Lite and see how it tickles your fancy.

Also, here’s tip. If you want to turn the system off as opposed to leaving it in sleep mode, simply hold down the power button on the system for a few seconds and then a menu will appear with the option to restart or shut down.

I’ve owned my Nintendo Switch for three years, the games supplied for the Nintendo Switch never disappoint. The games are fun and interactive while also being able to be played with friends and family, this console and its games have brought much joy to nights in with friends and family.

My friends and I find ourselves playing the Nintendo Switch for hours when we hang out and my family has game nights once a week where we like to enjoy Mario Party, Mario Kart, and other multiplayer games made for this console.

The Nintendo Switch allows me to play old school games that I once enjoyed as a child, which bring nostalgic feelings. This console can last and be added onto by buying joy-cons and attachments for each game, the biggest pro for this console is the fact that it can be played alone or with others.

Enjoying the new and old games on this console with friends and family is always a good time, when the Nintendo Switch is brought up everyone involved is ready to indulge in all the great selections they have for the console.

One downfall for this system is that not all games from the past are yet available for the public to play, Nintendo slowly releases games for this console old and new. The only perk I could think of to fix this minor issue is having all old school games released when the Nintendo Switch was first released, this would allow more games to play that were once played by adults when they were children.

I recommend this console to anyone who enjoys Nintendo games, it can bring a night together easily with friends and family. This console is very kid-friendly and also has a huge adult fan base, all games can be enjoyed by any age group and allow individuals to play the games they enjoy together.

I purchased the Animal Crossing Edition Switch approx. 2 years ago and wanted to do a full review from a hardcore gamers perspective. For starters, I did not purchase my console from Home Deliveries USA but from a local, national gamestore but theres no doubtin my mind that Home Deliveries USAs product would have arrived quickly and as promised.

So, Ive been a gamer since the early 1980s as still remember getting my first atari, I enjoy all types of gaming consoles and have logged thousands of hours over the last 35 years or so. To be honest, I wasnt excited about the switch coming out as Nintendo has not really geared their products towards the hardcore gamer and have instead focused mostly on family style gaming.

Matter of fact, the last Nintendo console I had prior to the switch was the gamecube which most people know was a disappointment compared to other consoles that were out at the time. Like I mentioned , I bought my switch around 2 years ago and bought it as an impulse buy.

Covid was in full swing and I found myself as home more so I figured if I was going tp be at home then I might as well buy the switch even know I already owned the ps4 and xb1. Figured Id complete my collection.

The very first games I purchased were BOTW and Mario Odysey. Those titles are Nintendo specific so I decided I was only going to purchase Nintendo exclusive titles for the switch considering that I an buy the cross platform titles for my other consoles and save some money.

I was surprised at the initial cost of the switch games vs other consoles but soon learned that Nintendo does that intentionally but also that the carts retain their value more than disk based consoles.

I was very surprised at the game selection that the switch offers. As a game collector I was amazed at their hard copy selection which other brands dont typically release. Switch gameplay does seem a little dated and their graphics arent necessarily up to par but theres more to gaming than just graphics.

I’m not usually writing any reviews about gaming consoles and less in response to other reviews but the previous review that simply wrote about “cheaply made” or “destroy carts” and “. not loading lot of games” needs to be addressed.

The good and the bad are in short: 1. The console I got was upgraded with the new software 2. 5 and “fast boot” and “fast cart load” as standard. 2. The controller is very responsive BUT you have to “pair it” and charge it right out of the box.

Plus the design edges making it not so comfortable after long periods of playing. If you have the original controllers maybe better to use them. I used to it quickly though, 3. The cart slots are fine for Famicom/Nes/SNES/Gameboy but little snug for Megadrive.

Just hold the console down and you’ll be fine. 4. The SD cart is ALL the money here! You can save slots and resume in games but MOST important of all features you can find translation patches (. ips files), copy them into your card and load them with JAPANESE games.

I mean I’m playing Seiken Densetsu 3 (Secret Of Mana 2) from japanese cart in ENGLISH! There are heaps of translations. Earlier I was playing in English the Bionic Commando:The return of Hitler(!!!) Yeah.

That was the japan version! In the west we got the “censored” version! 5. Most important is to remember that this is EMULATION box. It’s the convenience having in HDMI lot of consoles in one. It’s not for the pirated ROMs.

You playing original carts (extremely well 99% of the games I tried) I have to say though, that you have to tweak the image almost certainly to satisfy your preferences in picture quality. Right out of the box I was looking at a blocking mess! Patience and playing with the picture settings made me love this console even more.

Graphics are great now and sounds fantastic.

The Retron 5 is a excellent system to interact with your older cartridges. The HDMI output provides an efficient interface to modern TVs. This particularly is a better way to enjoy handheld games. It does have a few minor hiccups—many resolve if you wait to insert games until the Retron 5 reaches the red menu screen and save regularly.

This is my one and only review after having my PS4 since GTA 5 was new. Love the games and content but a complete boatload of problems with slow downloads, loud fan and opening games just to have your console shutoff in the middle of a very slow ‘copying update file’ process which causes it to restart the whole download process of whatever you were trying to play while waiting.

PS store after a while reads error when trying to purchase digital content. Its just a mess as far as hardware goes. I was literally at 70% update file copied and tried to open another game while waiting and my console just shutoff for no reason.

I just wanted to game before work but this console is not friendly in situations like that. Not to mention numerous games tend to update at the same time which prompts you to ‘make space’ in your data when you didn’t need it before the update.

Account recovery methods are outdated and too much information is required if you are not using your own console(trying to add your account to a friend’s ps4). Make sure you have more than one email and always update your phone when you get a new one.

Also be sure to upload your saved data to the PS plus cloud as data could randomly go corrupt and start you over where you were previously. Again, great games, bad hardware.

PS4 is a great system. I enjoy playing a variety of games on it-especially the option to use the remote play app through my phone or tablet when I’m away from home. It’s nice that I can leave my console in rest mode and then activate it through the app and play games with my dualshock controller.

Although sometimes the remote play app has a little lag or other issues-it works great when it does work. Although the PS5 is out now, PS4 is still a great system because of the game library. There’s a wide range of classic games (final fantasy etc.

) and series and newer titles (like genshin impact). It also plays blurays so it doubles as a simple blueray player. You can also expand the storage with an external storage drive-I added a 4T storage drive and I haven’t ran out of space in years!.

6 months ago I bought this one year ago, and am reviewing it based on my experience. The PlayStation 4 Pro is a great console. It’s easy to set up, and it works well with both HD TV’s and UHD 4K TV’s (both connect by way of a HDMI cable).

The console has plenty of games available for it – in fact, far more than the equivalent Nintendo and Xbox consoles. The graphics look fantastic, and the sound quality is excellent. The Pro is much quieter than the previous PS4 model, and I found it to be an all-round improvement.

Those games that are available in 4K look truly awesome. This console comes with a DualShock 4 controller, a HDMI cable, and a tiny headset. Other than games, everything is included. While this machine is capable of playing 4K games, it will only play standard Blu-ray discs (not UHD 4K movies).

This is a shame, as I think it was a missed opportunity by Sony. The Pro is fully ready to play Virtual Reality games – however, the VR kit is very expensive (and the price has, so far, put me off). I also think it’s a bit cheeky that PlayStation Plus costs approx.

£30 a year … I bought the console to play games, and I paid for the games – so if I wish to play online with friends, it shouldn’t cost extra. Other than the ‘negatives’ I’ve mentioned, this is a wonderful latest-generation gaming console.

I’ve had many hours of fun using it. While it is rather pricy, this is a well-made console that still functions as-new after a year of use. I’ve had no problems with it at all – and I fully recommend it.

i bought this super nintendo basically because i’m a big nintendo fan and grew up in the generation of the nintendo 64 and onwards. i basically just wanted to play the older nintendo classics like zelda, mario games and some other games specific to the system such as metroid and donkey kong country.

there isnt much to dislike about the super nintendo. games are great fun, and especially fun playing the old multiplayer games with friends such as mortal kombat, because no one really has an advantage over the others.

i;m sure most people buying this system would know what they’re buying, mainly that nostalgic gameplay and to see where nintendo gaming began. everyone loves zelda!.

I literally almost bought this as soon as I saw that there were 90 retro games included-however; when I read the list I literally wasn’t familiar with a single game. I was expecting to at least see all the Mario and Sonic games, and maybe some Mortal Kombat.

Great product, but need to update the games.
