20 Best Fungicide For Brown Patch In St Augustine (2023 Updated)

I spent approximately $90 on several bags to kill yellow patch in my yard. Now four days later, I see no difference. I believe this product works for many, but the instructions are not detailed enough on the bag and it seems more exact weather conditions are needed for success.

It simply says to water if rain is not expected within 24 hours. As a first timer using those product, I treated when storms were expected the next day. However, we had heavy, heavy downpour rain. Yesterday, when I did not see any difference, I checked forums and realized that too much rain can wash the product away.

Apparently this is what happened. I have a pretty large yard and wasted a ton of money. I can understand this being a flop if I just put it down inwhatever way. But I took time to read the label and do exactly as stated.

I encourage anyone who is experimenting for the first time with this product or any other, to try one bag and see what happens. I personally will never buy this product again.

Last summer 2020 – I laid about 1,500 sq ft of new Sod in early June and it looked awesome – new sod requires a lot of watering, but about 4 weeks in, mushrooms started growing, more and more – I didn’t realize the new lawn was becoming infected with disease, soon the lawn was starting to yellow and I became nervous and disappointed – I spoke to a lawn professional and he said that my new lawn was infected with a disease and he suggested that I purchase Scott’s Disease Ex – so I did, cheap enough $25 and I applied it as instructed with curative application.

I swear in 36 or so hours, it appeared to begin to look less yellow and there were less mushrooms growing, after a week, mushrooms were gone and the beautiful, dark, vibrant lush green color was coming back to my beautiful sod, I was so happy – and it continued to improve from that 1st application and I never looked back.

I swear by this product, because it works !! Very important to remember to water your lawn after application. I understand that the directions do not state that and some people have written poor reviews because of that, but c’mon man !! After you apply anything to your lawn that is pelletized, you should always water it in, and that’s common sense – preferably right before it rains is best – nothing beats natural rain water.

Now this Spring my lawn looks beautiful, but because of the issues I had last year, I bought another bag of Disease Ex and applied only preventative setting. Here’s to another summer of a dark green, lush, carpet like lawn.

I bought it to defend my lawn and backyard grass from annoyingly growing mushroom. After reading all reviews I was happy to receive it and immediately applied it. What was surprising to me that in 2 weeks after application my lawn turned into a completely green lawn (prior to application some large area on the lawn and backyard were already yellow burnt under the sun).

This was great surprise because I only bought it to stop growing mushrooms. I don’t see these small brown mushrooms growing but after 2 weeks of application I still observed white mushrooms grew back up on the same spot which I had to remove it again by hands (even though I did apply more then enough of the product to that spot).

So far NO other mushrooms neither brown nor white mushrooms grew back up and it’s been a month since last application but my grass is still crispy green. I’m average consumer and Scotts did NOT pay me for this review.

So you can trust me it does work. The only reason I gave it 4 stars review was because I did observe big white mushrooms grew back up 2 weeks after application but since then I don’t see any kind of mushrooms growing back on both sides of the lawn area.

As as single working mother, I am solely responsible for taking care of my house, car, and lawn and I really LOVE getting my hands in dirty and helping a plant grow. I live in Texas and on any given weekend, you will find me and my family outdoors washing and waxing the car or mowing and weeding the front lawn.

A great looking house and yard is important to me. Lately, with summer fast approaching, I’ve noticed that my lawn is turning brown/yellow and dying in patches. After talking with my friends and conducting a little online research, I visited my local home goods store and picked up a 32oz ready to spray bottle of BioAdvanced Fungus Control For Lawns to help protect my grass and get it healthy again.

I chose the ready to spray Bioadvanced formula because it was easy to use and after one application, it immediately entered my grass’s roots and blades to eliminate any fungus that was present and to create a barrier protection against any new fungus.

Happily, after 9 days, I’ve have seen some improvement. A few brown/yellow spots that were in my front yard, along my sidewalk, are shrinking, have begun to grow new grass and grass blades are getting green and healthy looking again.

Bonide Copper Fungicide has been great at keeping blight and other diseases off my indoor tomato, cucumber, and radish veggies. I haven’t had a chance to determine if my outdoor fruit trees are better off having been sprayed with Copper Fungicide (it’s late Fall, early Winter here), but I’m sure it won’t hurt.

This is a concentrated fungicide, so be sure to be careful to follow the directions on the back of the bottle. You don’t want to burn your plants by adding too much fungicide. If you don’t do hydroponic gardening (a method of growing plants without soil, in nutrient rich water instead), I’m not sure if this will work on your soil-based plants and veggies.

But, again, I doubt it would hurt. As advertised, this fungicide attacks a wide range of plant diseases: powdery and downy mildew, rusts, blackspot, leaf and fruit spot, fruit rot, and late blight. We were worried when our tomato plants started showing signs of blight, but after a few carefully administered sprays of this product, Bonide Copper Fungicide, it disappeared, leaving perfectly healthy leaves.

That alone made this product worthwhile. You can use this product during the dormant and growing season. Best to administer it often, following the directions of course. The container is trigger action with three (3) settings: spray, stream, and off.

We have found no cons so far. Doubt there will be any so long as we practice what the directions tell us.

I am reviewing the Captain Jacks Copper Fungicide by Bonnie Products. This particular fungicide is for organic gardening and it can be used on flowers, fruits and vegetables. This is what caught my attention because I have been buying separate types of fungicide for each type of plants and this is an all in one! It controls a list of plant diseases such as black spot, powdery mildew, downy mildew and early blight with concentrations of copper.

I found that the copper fungicide has worked the best so I first used this on my roses because they had black spot and it really worked on cleaning up the disease. I will reapply in about 7 days if they still show signs of the disease.

Next summer I am going to be watching my grapes and if they show signs of powdery mildew I am going to try this spray on them. At the end of this years growing season I had an issue with the grapes and I wasn’t aware there was a safe fungicide I could use on the fruit but now I have some that I am able to use.

On the bottle they have attached a really helpful booklet that gives you directions as well as all the information on each type of plant, friut or vegetable you can use this on. I am very pleased with this product and I highly recommend it.

I’ve liked this product, it can help with a lot of plant sicknesses for flowers, fruits, and vegetables. It says it can help with lots of different mildew diseases, blackspot, leaf and fruit spot, fruit rot, and late blight.

It can also be used in dormant plants and hydroponic gardening. The instructions have you apply 2 weeks prior to the normal time you run into such diseases or once you see signs of them. You can reapply after 7-10 days until the plant is better.

This comes with 16 ounces of ready to use product. The sprayer has two spraying options and an off mode. You can spray in a stream, or in a wider application. Having a lot of perennial flowers as well as growing a garden with fruits and vegetable every year, this product can be very useful.

There’s almost always some plant that has something wrong with it. So this kind of product is useful to have on hand when the disease is first noticed. A few of my plants also get the same mildew on it around the same time every year, so I find it best to pre-treat the area.

I usually don’t have to reapply when I treat it ahead of time. This product will be great to have on hand and I love that it treats lots of different problems because sometimes it’s hard to tell what the exact disease is.

Overall really impressed with the fit of this item. I like that it’s still a full coverage tank that is still flattering and not frumpy. Gives off a very athletic aesthetic.

At last, a systemic fungicide that is earth friendly. Not quite ‘organic’ but a lot less harmful than other brands of systemic fungicide. Good concentration rates and NO horrible white mess and residue.

I needed this for control of Jap Beetle and used it both as foliage and root treatment. Be careful though, if you use it as a foliage treatment, do it late evening or early morning as if wet in the sun it will ‘burn’ tender leaves.

I haven’t used this product yet, having only just received it, but, we have a lot of fruit trees, and want to protect them from fungus, etc, so thought this would be a way to prevent it.

Much better than using chemicals on our food.

Follow the directions on the bag. Use it 2 times a year and it eliminated several brown spots caused by fungus and rot. Also used with grubex throughout the year and focus now is only on weed control.

Don’t expect it to be perminant without some work on understanding what’s going on in your lawn. With grubs and weed control I could find out what was causing the brown spots caused by fungus. This cleared up the lawn within a week or two.

Love this ready to spray product, this year has been hard on my lawn. Lately I have been having issues with weeds and fungus taking control of my yard. This product would be perfect for a small yard and spray where is needed can last a while if used on occasion.

In my situation I had to use whole bottle. Needless to say I have a huge yard so unfortunately I used whole bottle on a portion of my yard hoping these brown patches don’t spread. On the part that I used this product on it was easy to apply and I seen a drastic improvement over a couple days, the bottle is very easy to grip, smell is not to strong.

What I really love is this product is ready to spray no measuring or adding water etc. This makes it very convient and confident it will work better. My grass is looking better and I am very happy with results, I would definately recommend this product to others.

I bought BioAdvanced Fungus Control for Lawns! It controls Brown Patches, dollar spots, rust sports, Summer Patches, Anthracnose! I had brown patches of grass caused by a fungus! I bought this and when I got home I connected to my garden hose to apply! I particularly liked this product because after you shake the container, you hook a garden hose on the bottle and the contents gets mixed with the water to equally mix product where it is not pure product! It sprayed out in a steam that I could handle on to the grass! I sprayed it on the brown spots and a couple of days later I checked the spots and they were minimizing everyday after! I will be buying this product after I run out! Protects the lawn for up to a month! Great Product!.

I used Dr Earth products from the organic soil to the insecticide sprays and fertilizers, when it first came out. Having moved I had to search the internet to remember the name as its been years since I had an organic vegetable garden.

I also had pets in my yard. Dr Earth products are safe my vegetables grew enormous and I now have found a place that carries this amazing product. Took some searching but I found it.

Good product. I applied to decorative bushes around my house that had a mold/fungus problem. Its still too early to tell if its going to work but Im optimistic. The only downfall is the bottle seem to leak some of the liquid out during shipping.

This is SO watered down! It doesn’t work. We previously purchased Fertilome brand, but decided to give this brand a try. HORRIBLE!! It was more expensive and was so diluted that when we opened the bottle, there was not even an indicating whiff of the chemical smell.

Since we bought it, we used it. It failed miserably!!! DO NOT BUY! We’re back to Fertilome.

This is fantastic product. It does miracles against black spot and powdery mildew. I use it at the first sign to prevent spreading of these diseases. It really works!

There are more than 150 varieties of roses in my garden, and fungus was my biggest gardening problem for years. Before I tried every single way and remedy on the market, but could hardly control it(.

It was my nightmare, honestly (especially for some sorts of roses). Now I have no fear and can’t stop thanking you, guys :). Even the most disease sensitive sorts became fine, healthy and happy giving more healthy flowers and lots of healthy leaves.

I used this product from the minute I planted my tomatoes and followed the directions faithfully, But still they developed the yellowing of the leaves and brown spots. My tomatoes were planted in new grow bags with fresh soil.

So the Garden Sentinel didn’t work for that disease. But I was able to control the Black Spot on my Peony bushes.

Last year I had fungus problems in my phlox and tomatoes. This year, spraying Garden Sentinel every 2 weeks, I have seen no black spot or leaf yellowing and have a great crop of tomatoes. It works best if you spray before the black spot appears, but it has cut down on fungus on other plants that I did not pre-spray as well.
