20 Best Frozen Grilled Chicken Strips (2023 Updated)

I was able to try Tryson Grilled and Ready Chicken Strips. I was thinking they would be chewing or hard and not seem natural. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy they were to prepare. Just a number of seconds in the microwave.

It can vary, my home one it seemed a few strips were about 30 seconds to 40 seconds to be warmed up. The microwave at work it seemed to be more around 45- 50 seconds for a number of strips. The strips are decent sized, like you might find in a fast food style salad that you might buy at a restaurant.

The strips were nice sized, looked grilled and had a decent flavor that added a nice flavor to a meal, easily. You have the fresh chicken flavor without the preparation and cooking time that chicken normally would take you.

These worked very well for a quick meal to take to work or if pinched for a quick, healthier meal at home. They microwave well and are not chewy or rubber tasting like some microwave type of meats. You can air fry these strips easily just out of the freezer.

You can possibly coat them with an egg wash and some bread crumbs or almond flour and have a nice small chicken strips. The strips add a bit of variety, the flavor is nice, and the speed in which they can be ready can help you get a decent meal on the table without the hassle of multiple dishes/pots/pans being messed up and needing cleaned up.

I noticed a variety of pre-seasoned, different flavors available. So, you can have some variety if you find that you really like the quick and easy preparation. My only “concern” that I usually try to watch for, wanting more natural, less processed type of additives, the sodium content is a bit higher than I like and people watching that in their daily meals will want to be observant of the styles available and the amount of sodium in their flavor of choice.

Just the basic grilled chicken breast strips have about 23% of the daily allotment. Quick, easy, decent meal prep to get more protein into your lunch at work or a fast, on the go meal at home.

I’m used to cooking “gourmet” from scratch, but now live in a situation where I need more convenience. I used this chicken on a second date and it was DELICIOUS. I don’t know if I can ever go back to buying raw chicken, doing all the prep work, cleanup, etc.

But both my date and I were really impressed with the quality of this chicken (I didn’t tell him it was frozen, pre-cooked). He thought it was awesome and asked how I prepared it. I said I simmered it in the Alfredo sauce (which I did).

It came out tender and delicious. Going to buy another bag for this weekend.

With prices being the way they are I would think Tyson would adhere to a better quality of chicken. I have no idea what these were but they were not chicken breast. I paid $11 for a bag of inedible chicken pieces.

I made fajitas with these and they were gray, fatty, not many had the white look or texture of chicken breast. I continued to take more and more out of the pan and throw it away. By the time I was done all of it was in the garbage! Will never buy this product again!.

This product was totally inedible. It looked nothing like what was pictured on the package. It looked like the worst parts of a chicken, definitely not breast meat. I trimmed out what white meat I could find, which wasn’t much, and microwaved it according to the instructions to put on a salad.

I don’t know what kind of “grilled” flavoring they added, but it was horrible. I’ll never buy this or any other “grilled” product from Tyson again.

Normally I purchase Tyson Spicy Breast Patties but could not find them the day I was shopping at Walmart. Instead I purchased “Grilled & Ready Fajita Chicken Breast Strips”. At the time I didn’t realize this product had 600mg of Sodium, double that of Spicy Breast Patties.

But still, THE SALTINESS of the Fajita Chicken Breast Strips is overwhelming, making them almost inedible unless doused with a sweet sauce or Miracle Whip. I prepared the product exactly per directions: frying the strips in a pan without anything added.

I am going to throw away what’s left of your product. I don’t know if it’s the “smoke flavor” that’s added but I challenge you to give this product to a group of taste-testers to get their reaction. Please someone taste these to see if this degree of salty taste is desired!.

Not sure if I received a bad batch but the chicken in my bag was extremely salty. I was surprised at how salty, not flavorful, they actually were. I purchased them for salads and quesadillas but upon adding to my salad, I was taken aback at the saltiness added to my salad.

The bad says it contains 600 mg of sodium per serving which is higher than the other other Tyson’s products I frequently purchase ( grilled teriyaki chicken thighs & nuggets), but I am surprised that it is this salty and hope my bag was a result of a machine malfunctioning and dumping salt in my bag.

I also agree about the texture. it may be back meat. There was a lot of fat which was surprising and not in a good way. I ended up using my beloved air fryer at 350 for 6 minutes to prepare my strips.

Which is not as fast as the microwave, but less involved and time saving over the preferred skillet preparation. Unfortunately, I will not give this product another try as this lack of flavor but pure salt taste is extremely off putting and has left a figurative and literal extremely salty taste in my mouth.

I hope others have a better experience and that my bag was a one off mishap. Again, I love Tyson products but this saltiness is a no for me.

We’ve bought these for our family for years. We know what they should taste like. I had a partial bag and a brand new unopened bag, so I had to use part of each. The strips in each were completely different.

The color was lighter and more gristle in the new package. Weird texture as compared to the old. They were more slimy under the breading. I thought it was just a bad batch but we bought another bag and sure enough Tyson has changed their recipe.

So disappointed because this was one of my family’s favorite dinners. I’m going to try to make them homemade or buy a different brand and compare. Has to be better than gristle. Please change back!.

I have been buying this product for more than a decade. In the last several years the product quality has not been at all good. In the beginning these chicken strips were top shelf quality. I am not sure why I keep giving your company another chance but, I am one who absolutely wants to give big companies and the mom and pop businesses the benefit of the doubt.

There is so much grizzle and chicken body junk in your strips I end up spitting out more into the trash than I could possibly swallow in my meal. Your corporate motto should be “try our chicken parts”.

Tyson crispy chicken strips used to be my favorite, now I can’t eat them. There is a new “breading” (crumbles like sand and has a terrible unknown cardboard like taste). The chicken is also new and I’m not sure I can prove it is chicken (at least most of it).

You would be lucky to get half of the bag to taste and chew like chicken, but mostly it’s a strange, snappy when bitten into meatlike substance that resembles what I can only describe as an overcooked sausage type material.

The taste is also indescribable. I don’t remember how many years ago that it was changed from the original recipe that was almost addicting it was so good, but I have tried it maybe once a year for at least 3 years hoping it was back to the original only to be disappointed.

I will never try them again, nor will I buy any other Tyson products. Furthermore, when I see someone in a store with them in their cart I let them know exactly what they are in for. Goodbye Tyson!.

I wonder why so many people compare these Tyson chicken STRIPS to McD’s NUGGETS? McDs nuggets are 100% white meat chicken, so any comparison references as such are far off in left field. And you’re referencing restaurant prepared nuggets verses frozen tenders from a grocery that will need be home prepared.

Tyson chicken strips have always been “very peppery”, which isn’t fair to people not able to tolerate that added spice, which can burn the tongue. Tyson doesn’t offer a “non-pepper” version. The Tyson strips are difficult to bite into and chew, even when cut into bite size pieces.

The grain of the meat has always been off, making each tender tough to bite into and then chew – some pieces moreso than others. We prepared three bags exactly as bag directed, then served to others.

Not one person was able eat an entire tender without pulling tough chicken out of each tender, or dumping out of mouth into their napkins. The tenders smelled delicious while cooking, which was the extent of deliciousness.

The breading is thick in areas – clumpy, actually, which causes spots of rock hardness when cooked accordingly to directions. I couldn’t have been more thorough in following the bag’s preparations. Sincerely, Granny.

purchased countless times for its flavor, freshness and QUANTITY AND SIZE PIECES. HOWEVER, this last bag purchased this month i got more nugget sized pieces than the regular medium to JUMBO pieces – and paid more money for the bag!!! inflation, yes, realize but this is extreme! nuggets? for toddlers! i don’t have kids in my household.

the slightly larger sized ones [only THREE!] harddly had meat on them, mainly batter crust! ok TYSON. let’s get back on track and not jump on wagon of opportunity to give less but inflate YOUR wallet [profits] due to ‘repercussions of russia’s war!!!’ i gave extra ‘star’ for flavor and freshness.

I like this phone. I’ve wanted one for quite some time now. Normally when that happens I’ve liked it so long that it’s not worth getting the phone by the time I can afford it. That’s not true in this case.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is still an excellent phone even though it’s several years old. I highly recommend it. The phone is easily rooted and the current Android version I have is 5. 1. 1, though Android 6.

0 is being worked on (and out in some beta versions, I think). The “feel” of the phone is very quick. Two Gig of RAM is wonderful! I can load all of my apps that when used on my HTC EVO 4G LTE (with 1 Gig of RAM) slowed it down terribly and I don’t notice any slow down at all.

It has a replacable battery and they’re cheap to replace. An extended battery is available aftermarket, too. That is a wonderful feature that I wish every cell phone would have. It takes a 64 Gig SD card (I don’t know about larger size though).

Most for sale on Ebay have had their SIM card removed (unnecessarily in my view, but. ). You can purchase SIM cards for the phone on Ebay for about $12, and they work fine. The screen display is awesome, crisp and clear.

It’s not so good outside, but it is usable, which is better than my EVO. This works with FreedomPop, a free cell phone service that provides 200 min of calls, 500 texts and 0. 5 Gig of data per month for free (it uses the Sprint network so it needs a Sprint Galaxy S4 for it to work).

FreedomPop makes it’s money by offering you additional services for a fee, but you don’t have to use them to get the free service. But enough about FreedomPop. I highly recommend it!.

Hard to get crispy in an air fryer, and even after you manage they’re weirdly flavorless even for plain chicken strips. Seasoning consists of flour and too much salt, can’t even have pepper. I prefer the store brand and it’s not even close.

Do Not Waste Your Money. I really wanted to like these But they are so soggy when cooked per instructions. So I put them back in the oven for another 20. Nothing changed. Still soggy and just do not “feel” pleasing to my mouth.

Gave a really small piece to my cat, she sniffed it and walked away. I just think these are a total Failure all the way around. These have a kind of not done/slick feeling in my mouth and Grease on my tongue.

“Just Nasty,” all of the way around. DO NOT BUY THESE, you’ll be sorry. And these Are Not strips, they are chicken breast thay have been Flattened. I will continue to get the Fried Chicken Strips!.

I tried these for the first time this evening and I was impressed with the quality. I’ve tried other Tyson strips and they’re always too bready (so disrespectful) and just not liked by the fam. I tossed a few of these in the air fryer, seasoned them righteously, and then waited in nervously lol.

Once done I plated a piece with mashed potatoes and corn – feeling nostalgic. I was impressed upon the first bite. It’s not far off from my own fried chicken and on that note, I’ll buy it again when I don’t feel like ‘really’ cooking.

Besides tasting like they were dunked in salt the taste is pretty good. I ate made chicken Parmesan with them but had to take off most of the breading because of how salty these are. I usually over salt my food but this is next level.

The company really needs to look these over because I can see I’m not the only one that had this issue. Until reading reviews I contemplated contacting the company thinking it was a bad batch.

The are my absolute favorite pre cooked chicken breast strips to put in my salads or to make tacos with! I will also eat them just straight out of the bag if I am needing some extra protein through out my day! They are not overly seasoned and are not dry! They are very juicy and delicious! The zip inclosure bag makes sure that they always stay fresh which is nice if you don’t eat the whole bag in on sitting! If you are looking for a healthy high protein food that is delicious then look no further! These foster farms southwestern.

Seasoned chicken breast strips are seriously amazing!.

Amazing on salads!! We love the southwestern chicken. We either heat it up in the microwave or stove top for a more crispy taste. (If that makes sense) what I mean is, it’s not as moist. Anyway, has great flavor and it taste good hot or cold.

Definitely affordable and packaging is great. Definitely a must have for a quick mean.

Tastes very good, my kids and i both love it and we put it on out foods. The flavor is awesome and there is nothing to improve about this product i buy it most of the time I go to the store. Overall 10/10.

This tastes like freshly grilled chicken. No rubbery texture or slimy coating. Has a great flavor. I added to my salad and it was convenient and had a perfect flavor. Little pricey for the amount but overall a great time saver.

I cooked this exactly as the bag instructed. The chicken was in all different sizes, mostly nugget sizes, a few pieces about half the size of a tender, the rest just pieces of thick, mushy, breading with no meat inside of them.

Some pieces were over cooked while others were mushy and wet because they didn’t cook consistently because of various sizes of the pieces of chicken. The chicken was too spicy for one of my boys and the other said it was the worst chicken he ever tasted.

The pieces that I tried had more thick and mushy breading, rather than meat, and felt like I would eat it again if someone paid me to eat it, let alone ever wasting my Money on this again. If you are looking for anything that is close to something you might put together yourself with BBQ sauce, forget it.

It doesn’t come close and you are better off taking a piece of plain chicken and pouring BBQ sauce on it. It would taste a whole lot better than this rubbish. $9 thrown in the trash as far as I’m concerned.

Will NEVER abut these again.

I love this product and purchase it often from my local grocery store. I have noticed that there are far more nuggets in the bag than there are straps. Initially I thought this could be due to shipping and the straps are broken into smaller pieces.

But on closer inspection, there is no evidence that pieces brake off of a larger piece. The nuggets appear to be intentional. I think this is misleading to customers who think they are buying strips but wind up with more nuggets.

If I find a comparable product, I will sadly switch for this reason. Sell what you advertise.

The name suggests that these crispy chicken breast strips are something better than the standard frozen chicken nuggets that are marketed to 5 year olds. In fact, they are exactly the same thing, only priced higher.

I was expecting solid chunks of chicken breast in a pan Korean like coating. What I got was the same unidentifiable solidified meat paste as all other nuggets in a flavorless breading. It’s technically edible, but it’s not actually tasty and certainly doesn’t justify the additional cost over standard nuggets.

I thought there were a bunch of smaller pieces of breaded chicken in the bottom of the bag. No, only breading. A third of the bag had these chickenless pieces. There were some huge pieces of chicken in there which you’d think would be a good thing.

They had so much breading they didn’t cook all the way through making them mushy inside. Cooking more dried it out. Very disappointing. I will not buy again. I tried adding photo but keep receiving a error message.

Disappointed. What looks like large breaded chicken strip is really small bits of chicken with a thick breading. Sometimes when taking a bite you will hit a piece of chicken that is tough and grissely.

Like the rubbery part that connects the meat to the bone. The breading will be crisp in one bite and soggy in the next. All depending on the thickness. Do not like biting into a piece of chicken and gagging.

I will still buy Tyson products. Just not this one.

They may look like ordinary chicken patties but these are exceptional! I baked them on parchment paper and as directed. They came out juicy inside and crunchy outside. The breading is so light and crispy! It was my first time trying them and I had them on hamburger buns with a little mayonnaise, lettuce leaf and pickles.

Yum! The size is perfect for the bun. These are great to have for a few meals without crowding up the fridge or freezer.

I swear by these chicken nuggets. They are easily my favorite and a great value, I’ve been eating them happily for years. Unfortunately, the last bag I bought tastes absolutely disgusting. I tried them when I first got them, and couldn’t eat more than one.

That’s ok, maybe I was just in my head about it. Just now I heated up another round of the nuggets and the same thing. I’m really sad because I can’t bring myself to eat the whole bag or else I may never want to eat them again.

These are my favorite nuggets. Tysons are gross. Up until recently. My normally brown and crispy nuggets are now pale and impossible to get that perfect color and crisp back. If you changed the recipe, change it back because I’m a ketchup lover who can snack on the old ones without ketchup (rare for me) and now have to smother them in ketchup to feel better and don’t plan on buying them again until this is fixed.

Truly one of the worst “chicken” items I have ever had the displeasure of eating. This item is so bland and the texture so offensive I have serious trouble calling it chicken. Not only was the meat spongy- as in it literally felt like biting into a sponge- most of the strips I I tried to eat were basically hollow.

Large air pockets ran the length of each “strip. ” Total waste of money. This item was inedible.

First – these make cooking so easy by eliminating my least favorite part of meal prep (the meat). I pop a few pieces into my air fryer and it’s done in <10 minutes. Second - these really are the only frozen chicken that doesn’t have the gross fatty bits (anyone else know what I’m talking about?).

They are spicier! But they taste and have the texture of real chicken which is what frozen chicken should be like. Tyson, if you added more versions of THIS exact style of chicken, you’d be taking more of my money easily.

Third – weight loss friends, this is a game changer. I’m on WW and this chicken is 0 points (which means I can eat plenty of it without ruining my diet). All of these reasons make it superb and worth the (hefty, albeit) price tag.

I can’t believe I am actually pleased over a frozen chicken strip. Let’s be honest that the picture always looks amazing and yet they never taste amazing (regardless of the brand) I must have been really hungry to even buy these but let me tell you that these are actually the best frozen chicken strips I have ever had.

Texture- It’s actually real chicken (not that mystery meat like other frozen chicken strips/nuggets) I have only tried them in my air fryer and they are perfect every time. Outside has this soft/airy crunch but yet the inside is moist and I will say it again (real chicken).

Flavor- I was iffy since I am not a fan of spicy. Yes i am a little wimp when it comes to spicy. (I use mild sauce to give a reference) but these have a good amount/right amount of kick. (I would assume that most kids might not enjoy them) definitely give them a try.

I have put them on salads, tortillas or with nothing. Good with sauce or without sauce. Only 1 complaint- why are they so dang hard to find? Either stores don’t carry them or they are always out of stock.

Also searched online and having a hard time getting them. Other reviews are great so clearly people like them (keep them in stock) target is where I have found them the most.

These are AMAZING. I’m normally repulsed by frozen chicken – especially from Tyson. It never tastes like real chicken and is just off-putting but I’m obsessed with these. I put them in the air fryer and they come out perfect.

The flavor is so good & you can tell it’s real chicken breast. Tastes just like anything I would make at home! I can’t recommend these enough. They are a new staple for me.

I’m not really sure how some people say this chicken is soggy. You must not have it to the correct temperature, because all of the chicken I cooked after following the directions is crispy and not dry.

It does not taste fatty nor is flavorless than most frozen chicken strips. This and the Good and Gather popcorn chicken are very tasteful, just different size chicken pieces. The only downfall of this chicken, as well as the popcorn chicken, is there is something within them that gives you BAD gas.

The day after is always the worst as all you can smell is chicken being released from your butt. It is not just me that this happens to, so I know I’m not the only one. This is something that I’m surprised isn’t mentioned in any of these reviews.

If you and the whole family eat this, the day after prepare to have your house filled with awful gas odors. Tastes great going in, but not on the way out. Have some gas-x extreme on hand or pepto bismol, because it’s a nasty aftermath.

Either a spice or the breading has a gas reactor that causes your stomach to go haywire moving through your intestines. I will have to do my research and see. I finished the last bag today just to get it out of the fridge without wasting it and throwing it out, so I know tomorrow will be gas day, thankfully it is the weekend and not a work day.

If my coworkers smelled what was being released from my butt, I would get extremely judged about what I was eating, or someone may even report a gas leak in the building. It’s those silent going out but deadly dispersed smelling farts that will clear a whole room.

Have toilet paper stocked and fabreze nearby just in case. Again, if you want some decent tasting fried chicken, then this is definitely worth the price. Great for wraps or just eating with a dip. I would recommend, but just beware of the aftereffect.

I don’t know how this could have happened at Target where you take a great product and change it to the worst. I tried this when it first came out months ago and had it almost every day because it was so good.

Back then, the pieces were smaller too, and I didn’t have to cut them up to put them in salads/wraps etc. Since about three months ago, the strips became much larger in size, and I saw the grey substance that you use to join the meat.

The taste became awful to the point of not tasting like chicken anymore, but more like cheap deep-fried fish fillets. If I gave them to somebody else without telling them what meat they were, I don’t think they would have said chicken.

I bought one for the last time about a month ago to see if the quality had improved, but there was the same awful fish-like taste to them, and the size of the pieces was still too large. So I had one bite and had to throw them out because they tasted too awful.

I don’t think I will buy these again unless they return the product to initial quality and change the packaging too to show it.

This is the 3rd time I have bought these chicken strips because they are SO good. These are big chicken breasts that I cook in the oven and either serve on a bun or with a salad and vegetable for a meal.

I have also used them cut up and served them in a big salad once cold. They have a light coating (like breading but thinner) that has a mild flavor which is good as it’s not hot, tangy or too full of spice that my husband doesn’t like but it they have a unique flavor to them.

They are totally real white meat chicken breast meat and plenty of meat little coating. Once cooked they are delicious a little crisp and taste great. I like that we can use what we need and put the rest back in the freezer for another time great for just a couple, One breast is enough to full up a grown hungry man these are that big.

These are better than any name brand that I have tried.

chicken was moist, way too spicy. Guacamole was surprising good and cheese good. Rice was terrible. Only buy if you like super spicy food and you will like it. Picture shows green and red peppers , but they are NOT included.

Meal prep is easy with this moist and flavorful chicken. It’s super yummy and delicious. Great for camping or adding to a salad. Easy, quick and yummy! Check out the ingredients yourself.

I purchased because of the reviews and they were all spot on. Even though everyone said the flavor was great I didn’t expect it to be as good as it was. I will continue to purchase for my salads. Frozen chicken is a thing of the past.
