Love this cherry pie filling! We use it to top our homemade cheesecakes for a delicious cherry cheesecake. I love that, although it’s full of sugar, it isn’t overly sweet tasting. You get some of the tart from the cherries.
I always get this brand of cherry pie filling to use in my dump cake. For some reason it’s just the first one I grab. But I do like the flavor of the cherries they’re not too bitter and not too sweet.
Other brands of tried I’ve had to add a little sugar to combat the bitterness, but this one is just perfect. I plan on using this brand in the future and would recommend it for pies or anything that you wants to use cherry pie filling for.

I have only eaten the blueberry to date. It tastes very good. Great with coffee in the morning. Just about the right size. BUT, the microwave heating instructions are off. We have 1200 watt oven and the pie takes at least 25 sections to warm completely.
Anything less and you will still have cold areas. At 30 sections, the pie will be nice and warm, but crumbles.
I like this product and will continue to buy. My only problem is that often the fruit pies have no filling… just a little syrup. We have to fill them ourselves. Katz has replaced product in the past for this issue , but it seems to be a consistent problem for a couple of years now.
But we like the pastry and as a celiac family, so we put up with the hassle. When there is filling, I give it 5 stars! The filling is an issue about 40%of the time.

Our family has had several boxes of these now, and they are a big hit. The outer box is nice and sturdy, and each pie comes in it’s own little box. I find this packaging to be a major improvement over other brands of fruit pies where the pie is in a little waxed paper sleeve.
The pastry on them is a bit thicker and softer then the other brands we’ve had. I find that to be a plus, since they are much less apt to collapse or crumble when taking a bite. Ive yet to come across any that have broken pieces inside their little boxes, and only once have I seen more than just a few crumbs of sugar glaze flaked off in the box.
Overall, I find the sweetness just right. The glaze is only on the top, which I feel keeps it from becoming overwhelming. I haven’t noticed any hard bits of apple core in the filling, which would be a deal breaker for me.
My husband and daughter say the pies are to die for when warmed up and eaten with a dollop of vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of caramel syrup. I’ve not tried it that way, since I find them delicious out of the box and don’t need to make them more tempting or calorie dense.

It’s indeed apple pie, flavor wise. But it’s really too much sugar. The texture of the filling is okay, although to sugary. The crust also has too mush sugar. I thought the crust would at least balance a little bit of the sugar in the filling, but no, it even has a thin sugar coating on the the outside.
Overall it’s just too much sugar too handle. Probably would satisfy you when you’re really craving an “apple pie-ish” dessert, but would not suggest this if you have other choice. Will not buy it again.
I heated my pie in the convection oven and let it cool so that the pastry firmed up a bit and gave the enjoyment of a fresh baked pie and because I like the corners really well done. I didn’t find that the pastry was thick at all.
It was on average with any other similar type pie. One reviewer (maybe more, I didn’t really all the reviews) mentioned that they are super sweet. I agree. That would be my only complaint. The pie was fresh and the apple chunks were soft and I didn’t find anything like uncooked apple chunks, seeds or any part of the apple core in the pie.
These are very good but I don’t see myself going for one every day simply because of the excessive sweetness.

This pie has become a Thankgiving/Christmas dinner tradition! It takes a couple steps to bake this pie, it’s not quite a “toss in the oven and forget it” completely ready pie. First, you need to start the baking process on the frozen pie, which is the crust and the cherry filling.
The crunch topping comes in a separate bag, to be added toward the end of the baking process. What I’ve found most helpful to the topping, is to first empty it into a bowl, and using a fork, work the topping so it’s a fine powder, with no big chunks still frozen together.

We love eating Marie Callander pies around the holidays. The berries are always fresh and sweet. I usually like the crumble topping on pie so that would be a nice swap. I usually end up throwing away the extra crust so that’s kind of a waste but overall great pies and easy to make.
Crumbly flavorless crust, eaten as pudding instead. Bland sweet pudding. Toasted coconut sprinkled onto topping. Pie was not bad but wasn’t really good either. Basically just sweet.
This pie is SO good. The berries taste fresh and the smell after you bake it is heavenly. I only don’t like that everytime I buy this pie, there is always a big bubble of air on top which I don’t like but overall this pie is great.

Surprisingly for a frozen pie, this one is actually pretty good, not as good as a fresh pie, but still good. Dutch apple pies are one of my favorites so I do have a lot to compare it to. I much prefer the fresh ones, but you can’t always fond them.

I always have one of these at home there are times when you’re busy and you just can’t make your own. There’s no con it’s a great product. You simply pop it in the oven bake it let it cool and have a wonderful ending to a delicious meal.
