Our Frigidaire – 13. 9 Cu. Ft. Top Freezer Refrigerator Model #FFHT1425VB never worked properly since the day purchased. I will start by saying I LOVE the interior features – glass shelves, 3 HUGE door shelves, the convenient deli drawer, the huge crisper drawer, temp controls in the freezer and fridge, and the curved front of the unit is very attractive.

We were crushed when it did not work properly from day 1. The front of the black unit is smooth and shows every fingerprint. We followed the directions, and after 48 hours we turned the thermostat to the highest level since the unit would not cool to safe levels.

After 2 weeks running at the coldest temp, the fridge hovered around 45 degrees and the freezer 10 degrees. Also, I assume it was during the defrost stage, but at least once a day, the freezer would reach 40 degrees (yes, the freezer) and the fridge 59 degrees.

Also, we had an occurrence where the entire unit completely shut off – light and all. This lasted about 20 minutes, and then the light turned back on and it started running again. Also, every time we open the fridge or freezer, the condenser will shut off – it is not mentioned in the direction book this is normal.

When I contacted Frigidaire immediately to report the defective unit, they said no servicemen are available and would contact me within 10 days. Frigidaire never contacted me for a replacement or repair.

I will never purchase Frigidaire again, since I have a family member who has had 3 condenser replacements in once unit.

I like this refrigerator a lot. I needed something on the smaller side for a Park Model RV home and this works and looks great. It stores plenty of food for 2 people and both the freezer and refrigerator compartments stay nice and cold.

There is plenty of storage on the doors also and I like the deli tray that can be slid side to side. I think the fridge stores more food conveniently than my older one that was larger. When the refrigerator is cooling there is some noise likely from the fan or evaporator but that’s to be expected and detailed in the user manual.

I had to reverse the doors for my application and that was a bit more difficult than I expected. Some of the screw plugs that hide holes were exceedingly difficult to remove. One broke off the head because the outer skin was not perfectly aligned with the hole behind it.

I also had to drill that outer hole to get the screw in on that side. It wasn’t an issue for me, but someone else may have not been able to do that. One star removed for that. In general I am very pleased so far with the looks and functionality of the refrigerator.

I didn’t need or want all the fancy options, just keep my food cold, this was perfect.

Living in a Senior Assisted Living community, the standard refrigerator in the unit was a very small one. The freezer was located within the refrigerator so it did not even keep ice cream frozen. Now that I have a Frigidaire with a separate compartment for the freezer, it keeps my ice cream frozen.

Now I can even store other frozen foods without any worries that they will remain safely frozen. The refrigerator is probably bigger than I would need, however, as I find more and more things that I can purchase now because I now have a proper refrigerator.

Also, there are many Japanese foods that require that they remain frozen until eaten, it has added so much to the enjoyment of my meals here. Oh yes, it is frost free which is an added blessing. I am 91 years old now and am sure I will continue to enjoy the blessings of having a proper and safe refrigeration system in my room.

I purchased a Frigidaire because it is a name that I have always trusted.

I’ve had this new refrigerator for about 3 weeks. My choices are limited because I live in an old house with ceiling cabinets that restrict height. So far I’m mostly happy with my choice. My old refrigerator/freezer had the air circulation vents in places that were easily blocked.

The new one has them more strategically placed so we can maximize the space without restricting air flow. I like the design of the produce drawers too. In the old one they were angled in the back which limited what could go in them.

There are a couple drawbacks that I’ve noticed in 3 weeks. While the freezer is within the temperature safe zone with the factory setting, the refrigerator is not. It only keeps it cold to about 45 degrees.

I needed to move it colder a notch to get it to read in the safe zone. Also, the seal on the refrigerator door rubs on the lower corner of the hinge side and keeps the door from closing easily. I have to make sure to push it harder to get it to close.

I’m expecting that may cause seal problems later on so I hope the Home Depot extended warranty will cover it if it fails. I’ve also read other reviews that mention the bottom of the door being low to the floor and catching their foot when closing.

Yup, I get that too. And I have hit my head on the freezer when standing up after bending over to access something in the back of the refrigerator, but I had that problem in the old one as well. I do wish it had included the small drawer on the second shelf and some bin dividers for the door bins, but I do appreciate how quiet it is.

I’d like to do a review in six months to a year to report back how it is holding up.

I like that it has room and storage on the door and the storage for fruit and vegetables is large plus has a humidifier control slider. My only upset is the shelves are glass and I worry when I attempt placing glass containers such as pickles or wine bottles on it that it may scratch or crack.

Plus I don’t care for the overhead light box in the refrigerator it takes up space and cannot place tall items in the middle. The freezer is nice but the drawer on the door cannot close if too many freezer items are in its way and my only other problem is there is no door handle instead it has a groove /slot at the top of each door which is not easy to clean and grip to open the door.

I would prefer a handle because I end up spilling water from placing the ice trays in the freezer and water gets into the slots. All though these are a few things that I wish I could change I do love having the room for food and it really is a nice refrigerator.

I would suggest adding a meat drawer for deli meats and a cheese drawer would be nice. I am looking for acrylic drawers and I think they may fit as I found some at big lots and that would be so great for my meats and cheeses.

I bake and make soups so storage and space are important. I just really wish the shelves were not glass I worry about a metal pot scratching it. All in All, it has its good points and it is energy efficient so it saves you money each year!.

I wanted a white top freezer lower refrigerator style. This was the only model home depot had that also included the option of an ice maker. My refrigerator was broken so I was in a rush. The model I bought sticks out too far and refrigerator portion is very low compared to my last refrigerator.

It’s not as wide so it’s deeper so I have to put items in back and I’m tall which requires more bending over to reach these items. All shelves are across the width of the refrigerator. There are no half shelves to move up or down for taller items you have to move the whole shelf.

When the refrigerator was delivered the ice maker could not be hooked up. This was due to the nuts on the water line and the line from the refrigerator not matching. Had to pay my neighbor to swich out fitting.

When the water line was attached no water eas going to fill the ice maker. Ong story short after many conversations with home depot and 2 techs coming out found out that the ice maker wires were not installed correctly.

Had to call my neighbor to come over because the tech Sako was rude the whole time making rude comments and made me uncomfortable. And he had to call a tech and face time home with to solve the problem.

Since all of this took ace over 24 hours of purchase no return on this nightmare refrigerator. I’m stuck. So not a happy consumer.

If the previous refrigerator hadn’t experienced catastrophic failure AND if there hadn’t been an appliance shortage, this appliance never would have entered my home, period. Even now, I would have been better off limping along with a couple of dorm fridges – or maybe even blocks of dry ice – rather than quite literally settling for this rickety behemoth.

Hindsight for the win, once again. The fridge layout isn’t the least bit practical for experienced fridge users. Most manufacturers nowadays have split shelf designs, as that layout is more intuitive overall, and LG’s lack thereof indicates their backward thinking and questionable designs.

This fridge is supposedly bigger than my previous Whirlpool, yet items do not fit – and the dividers in the door are laughable (saying the plastic is “flimsy” is still giving it too much credit). The dividers don’t stay in place, nor do they fit properly.

The “meat and cheese”‘ drawer is another design fail, since all the little plastic packages that cheese and meat are put into slide to the back with every close of the drawer, regardless of any organizing finesse.

And sometimes, on super-special unsuspecting days, those same slippery plastic items will go behind that little drawer and into the back of the fridge. My nose was happy to point out that fatal flaw after a pack of cheese vanished into that unknown realm and began to stink up everything.

That was a fun discovery! With the amount of squealing and squawking that comes from the freezer as it’s being opened, you’d think the whole unit is 3,000 years old. Except, it’s just 6 months old, and those bone-breaking screeches were present from Day One.

Like the rest of this appliance, the freezer isn’t designed for functionality either. It’s just another exercise of shimmying and shaking of items, especially on that top drawer. Lastly. give customers the option of turning off that #&#[email protected]$ open door alert! Honestly, it is the most annoying aspect of this appliance.

Not. Kidding. If it wouldn’t ruin the entire unit – haha! – I’d shoot out the speaker to silence that useless alarm. Yes, we ALL know about saving energy by not leaving the door open, blah blah blah, and that we could be human and leave it cracked open accidentally.

However, a fridge door MIGHT need to hang open for a few minutes in order to be restocked after a grocery trip, no? And, maybe during that restocking, one would REALLY appreciate not being bonked repeatedly on the rear by the door – which closes no matter the maddening amount of fruitless balancing of the appliance.

Again, major design flaw. For those who have seen the movie “Office Space” and smile with glee as the main characters beat the poo out of an annoying, flawed printer. Yeah, this fridge will be meeting that same fate, with SO much pleasure on my part.

No, I won’t consider donating it or selling it, as I don’t want anyone else to assume this appliance’s inherent problems; its ultimate demise by baseball bat is the only option so it doesn’t wreak further havoc on others.

Unfortunately, this experience has tarnished the LG brand for me and any future purchases where they have players in the ring. I’ll warn all friends and acquaintances – and strangers, if they’ll listen – of the poor quality and will even offer to give them the Fifty Cent tour of my beast if they are still in doubt.

I want to start out by saying that I was upgrading from a 17y/o fridge of a similar size. It’s been a few weeks I’ve used this fridge now and I am not impressed. During this period, I used both the Govee and SensorPush bluetooth thermometers for 24/7 temperature readings.

Compared to my previous 17y/o fridge, this fridge failed to cool my food more efficiently. My older fridge had an average weekly temperature range between 34F and 41F with 40F+ excursions occurring just 1-2x weekly (lasting 10-30 minutes per temperature spike).

This new fridge had an average weekly range between 32F and 45F with 40F+ excursions happening 3x or more weekly. Sometimes the temperature would exceed 40F+ multiple times per day for extended periods of time (even recorded a duration of 1.

5 hours of elevated temperatures over 40F). My old fridge did this rarely, but this new fridge has these temperature spikes much more frequently. The freezer also did not meet my expectations. My old fridge had an average range between -12.

5F to -2F on any given day. This fridge has a range of -10F to 10F and would rise to 10F 3 times a day and would remain elevated above 0F for an hour each time. And finally, I had an outage. During the outage I did not open the fridge/freezer doors at all.

Ambient temperatures were at about 75F. My thermometers showed a 4 degree increase during the outage and recorded just over 41 degrees when the electricity turned back on. Fortunately the outage lasted about an hour.

I’ve had outages that lasted 3 times longer last summer. That’s 4 degrees per hour which means my food would have been over the 40F safe zone for 2 hours before electricity kicks in (not to mention the additional time it would take for the fridge to cool back down to below 40F).

If I had been using this fridge last year I would have had to throw all my food out. I checked all around the seals of my fridge/freezer doors and checked for any airflow blockages. There are no objects or walls within 2 inches around the fridge and doors are opened sparingly.

My fridge is loaded to about 30% capacity with lots of airflow room between items. I am so appalled by what I received in comparison to a fridge that is over 17y/o that I’m not sure I want to buy anything new anymore.

Our 12 year old French Door refrigerator started making clicking noises and not cooling properly. I did not want to take any chances having it repaired to only fail again later. No one wants to have food spoilage and not have cold beverages during triple digit temperature summers in deep south Texas, so I bought a new one.

My first surprise was the prices, way more than double the price of my previous unit. Decided to get another French door unit. Looked nice and very similar to the one we had so had it delivered, they also now charged me to haul away the old one btw.

, once we removed all the packaging we noticed it was a lot smaller on the interior. Lots of noises, very noticeable and disturbing from day one. The booklet says it’s due to new technology to make it more efficient, so be it, we thought.

Two months later we find everything inside frozen, so we changed the setting. Tech came in and reset it by turning it off, just like a computer. Ten days later the compressor went out. No parts available so they offered me a larger unit that would not fit in the kitchen we have.

Nothing in the 34 inch wide size to be found. Decided to get a different brand this time, so got this LG. Turned out to be very quiet, much larger room inside, nice looking and works the way it’s supposed to.

Hurray for LG. they beat the competition in price too, as this unit was less expensive even when the three year extended warranty was included in the price. The warranty was not included in the noisy unit.

Supply line problems, Covid-19 pandemic wrecked havoc in everyone’s life.

5 stars because I have no complaints about it. But here are some things I noticed. All the mechanicals are tucked away in a small space behind the vegetable bins leaving lots of room for food storage.

Normal setting for freezer is fine but fresh food setting needs to be slightly colder than normal for about 38deg temperature. Don’t rip out the styrofoam from the air vents. It is needed to control condensation.

Adjust shelf levels before pushing in to space because you might not be able to open the doors all the way afterwards. Make sure you lower the tip over feet on the bottom front. Doors stay open exactly where you leave them until about 6 inches open and then they self close.

Definitely not whisper quiet when compressor and fan are running but it is not loud. Seems to run about the same amount of time that my 30yr old fridge ran. I would have expected it to keep the cold temperatures longer.

Stainless steel finish leaves lots of fingerprints. Get a different finish if that annoys you. Doors are super easy to take off if you need to. A few screws on top hinge and a few screws on middle hinge.

Unit without doors easily fit through 29inch opening.

I like the door shelves, as they provide great storage for milk and other big items. This is the same size as my previous oldschool refrigerator, yet there is a lot more storage space – which is great.

One thing that I don’t like, is the temp of the fridge portion. I have it set all the way to the coldest, and it just doesn’t get super cold the way I like. It reminds me of those shower nozzles that have water savers in them, which prevents your from getting decent water pressure.

It seems designed so that you can only have a moderate amount of cool in the fridge, which is sufficient, but not great. The freezer seems to get plenty cold tho. I also would have liked better fingerprint resistance.

It’s not bad, but it’s not great. It’s a good looking fridge, great storage, decently quiet (I don’t care about sound level tho), but fridge doesn’t give freedom to make things extra cold. I did a lot of research and in this size range I found this to be the best option.

I always read lots of reviews before making a major purchase. This fridge seemed to be popular, and I read many comments about how quiet it is. Only a very few reviewers said it was noisy. Having had it for about a month and a half, I have to agree with those who say it is too loud, and for that reason alone I would not buy this fridge again.

It’s not that it makes sounds that you would not expect, but rather that they are way too loud. In my case, it’s the evaporator fan. Normally you would not expect to be able to hear it unless you opened the freezer door.

But on this fridge you can hear the fan even with the door closed. In fact, I can hear it in other rooms on the main floor of my house and even in the upstairs hallway. There is no way that should be the case.

The fridge technician who came out to look at it told me he felt it was normal based on what he’s seen, and that it’s the result of using insulation that is good for efficiency but not good for muffling sound.

In summary, for anyone looking for a quiet fridge, don’t choose this one. It will disappoint.

When I ordered my top freezer refrigerator t did take awhile to get to me. After Lowe’s was able to deliver, haul away my old broken fridge and bring in this new one I was happy. It looked great and couldn’t wait to use.

I plugged it in and waited to the few hours before placing items inside. I noticed that the Temperature Control Adjust led wasn’t on the factory setting. So I pressed the button to shift the temperature down.

it did nothing. I pressed harder and the led light didn’t shift or turn the fridge off like it has the option to do so. I waited till the next day thinking maybe it just needed some time. In the meantime, the fridge portion was so cold it was freezing my milk, eggs, and sodas.

I am unplugged the fridge for hours to try and reset. Didn’t work. I held the Temp Control Adjust button for 10seconds, it turned off, turned on about a minute later but still didn’t let me adjust the Temp inside the fridge.

I turned the freezer temp controll rotary switch al the way down to see if it could help with the overcooling and overworking that this unit was doing. Nope, things still freeze in the fridge portion.

I called LG about it and put in a repair request after registering my fridge. That was on the 22nd of March, I still have no repair tech coming, cuz “there are none” and have no idea what LG will do now.

it’s all still pending after sending my proof purchase. So upset that I got a lemon that was crappy of the very first day, or maybe Lowe’s warehouse dropped it before, idk.

Got this fridge as a 2nd one for downstairs. Nothing fancy without bells and whistles to keep extra stuff in when I stock up for company or weekend family get togethers. No handles on the front. Just indentations on the inner edges of top freezer and bottom fridge to sort of grab and pull open.

The fridge door does not stay open and closes on its own, so when I take things out, the door is quickly closing on me. Also, when the refrigerator door closes, the top freezer door pops open slightly but closes immediately.

This is causing the items in the freezer to form some ice crystals. Hoping we don’t end up with a constant freezer burn problem. We’ve only had it for a few weeks so we’ll see how it goes. I purchased an extended warranty for it through the retailer when we bought the refrigerator and registered it right away with LG so we’re covered for the next 4 years just in case.

I bought this 5 months ago and it is already not working properly. The refrigerator won’t get cold enough to keep food safe to eat. The freezer is freezer burning everything. My food and milk keeps going bad very quickly.

I’ve been emailing and calling LG for help for over a week and still have not been helped. I’ve been trying to be patient but broke down in tears today. I have to put my meat and milk in a mini fridge instead of this practically brand new refrigerator that I bought a few months ago.

I wish I could give a good review, but this is a terrible experience and I just can’t. I hope to have a better refrigerator soon or a refund to go buy a better one.

This refrigerator is perfect for the garage! We had bought a large bottom freezer refrigerator for our new home that extends beyond the countertop. It’s deep, sticks out in the kitchen wall-way, little room between island and refrigerator when doors are open, stuff gets stacked in the bottom freezer and lost in the bottom, and food gets lost and expires in the back of the cooler because it’s so deep with large water and ice maker, and an extra cool round ice ball maker in the bottom, there is also not as much room as we anticipated, so we needed an extra refrigerator.

Our new home has a place in the utility room for a refrigerator with water connections; but we have no need for water or ice in a second refrigerator, the utility room is small having room for only a washer, dryer, and refrigerator, and the refrigerator spot is where we have the litter box and feed the cat.

We have a 3 car garage with extension so plenty of room there! IMPORTANT: When we first started looking for a refrigerator to place in the garage, we didn’t realize that most refrigerators are required to be in a climate controlled room like the kitchen or utility room, they are not made to handle the temperatures and environment of a garage, and installing one in the garage will void the warranties.

However, this refrigerator is certified to be used in a garage! First, this refrigerator has no ice maker or water hookups; it’s cooler and freezer only making the limited features perfect as extra food storage in a garage! Second, it’s larger than most, as most are 17-20 sq ft, this one is 22 sq ft.

Finally, we have a standard sized raised ledge at the from of the garage which the refrigerator sits perfectly in size; not too deep, about 2” to spare at the front leveler. Overall we are extremely please with this refrigerator and GE is the BEST brand hands down in refrigerator quality on the market; and been for at least the past 20 years that we’ve built our new homes.

Hindsight, we wish we had bought a regular depth refrigerator for the kitchen in our new home, and bought this garage refrigerator also from day 1!!.

This refrigerator replaced another GE (similar cubic feet) that we had for almost 30 years with no problems. That was one of the reasons we gave the GE’s an extra checkmark when selecting a replacement.

The good – the high capacity door shelves are very handy, I’m hoping in the long run that the extra weight doesn’t prematurely mess up the hinges. The inside seems ultra roomy on the shelves and even preparing for guests with extra provisions we didn’t run out of room.

We’re happy that the stainless door still accepts magnets. The meh – even though the shelves have lots of room, the drawers (cold cuts, and vegies) are a bit smaller than you would expect at this size.

The butter door is a bit awkward to use and also small. The bad – there have been other reviews that mention the flimsy shelves and although ours haven’t failed yet, we can certainly see them flexing if you don’t keep heavy items to the side and lighter items in the center.

I even went to try and order a replacement before we need one and. surprise they are sold out. not a good sign. The worst – the icemaker designated for this refrigerator is woefully inadequate. Our old icemaker would fill up the tray and shut off easily within a day and a half.

After a month and a half it’s never filled up, and we dump two regular ice trays a day just to ensure we have some. From an engineering standpoint, it’s obvious that they made the cubes larger. news flash – that will take longer to freeze through.

There is no way to balance the temperatures between fridge/freezer properly because it has a single dial that only has 5 options, no halfway points, no damper control. To get the freezer at the recommended safe temperature of 0F, I had to set it to 5/5.

The temp still ranges up to 10F even without opening the door which reduces storage times. During defrost, the air temp gets up above 41F during the defrost which lasts about 30 minutes and no one can seem to tell me if it’s normal.

Food gets moisture crystals on the outside and packages get soft temporarily, but food seems to stay frozen at least (except ice cream and bread products get a bit soft). BUT the fridge freezes items because it’s at 32/33F.

If I turn the dial up to 4/5, then the fridge is fine but the freezer only gets to about 10F max and drops down to 20F randomly. also starts defrosting things (especially after the defrost cycle). So frustrating and worrisome.

Other issue is it’s EXTREMELY loud. Like a jet engine. Our kitchen is right beside our bedrooms so it wakes us up at night, and its a small apartment so you can’t really escape the noise. I would not have chosen this model, but I am a renter so can’t really do much about it.

Also for this same reason, I can’t fit a separate freezer in here either. Disappointed because I really like GE. When I used to be a homeowner, we had GE appliances and they worked great. This model doesn’t seem to be their usual standard.

The parts I do like is the appearance is good and looks very nice for the price, the meat/snack basket is a helpful feature, lots of room in the door. The gaskets are thick and squishy (not brittle, less likely to crack I think) and though the doors don’t really seem to vacuum seal, they do seem to keep cold air in properly.

The produce bins are okay – could be a bit roomier, but not the worst I’ve had. I also like how the shelves don’t touch the back wall so it’s easier to make sure there’s enough room for air circulation.

I just don’t understand why you can’t set the temps properly and why it’s so darn loud.

Since this refrigerator had the same features as my previous one, was willing to wait a month for it and it was worth it! Pros: * It did not take long after plugging to cool. So far entire fridge is cooling great! * Plenty of storage including on the door itself which I find a big roomer than my last fridge.

* Upgrade from last unit is clear deli drawer and bottom crispers (for fruits veggies). * Glass shelves easier to clean. One note: guide mentions do not use warm damp cloth when cleaning a cold fridge as the glass shelves can crack.

Follow directions and will be ok 🙂 * The freezer has adjustable shelves. Since the air vent is on the top, I kept the shelf on the lower slot to help keep the vents clear. Still have enough space for home needs.

* It makes the usual noises for the unit to work. On this unit, I find it much quieter than my previous one. * Beautiful texture on outside of refrigerator (purchased white). Cons: * Since I left it on while cleaning before use, by the time I was done, the lights in the fridge slightly dimmer than when received.

TIP: When cleaning the refrigerator prior to use, keep it unplugged. Even slightly dimmer, still adequate lighting; will continue using as is. No light bulb so light has to be professionally maintained by an authorized provider, especially to help keep the warranty valid.

* Proposition 65 Warning: [may cause cancer and reproductive harm. ] Would like to know specifically which part of the product may cause this harm. Would prefer an appliance without such materials on products which are getting much harder to find.

Also, more ease to find safer products. Overall, so far, a month after delivery of the fridge, the refrigerator is working great. I recommend this product.

Excellent features, value, volume, lighting, finish, modes, options, energy savings, and level of quiet. Sure, there are a few noises after every so many hours, but nothing loud. It automatically defrosts.

The LED lighting is ample without flooding a dark kitchen. It’s old-schoolish style (not a side-by-side) is one of the most practical features and advantages. First, the usable storage volume is very impressive.

Second, it’s easy to reach what you need—much easier than other configurations. Third, by not being one of those other (more popular) configurations, visitors are less tempted to play with the doors or to invite themselves to what’s inside.

There are plenty of modern features, and it does well with maintaining food when power goes off for hours.

Bought this to replace a larger fridge, seemed like a simple replacement. It is the ultimate fridge for someone about three feet tall having to squat to load or remove items. It will skin the top of your foot when you open the lower door as it swings about 2 inches off the floor.

Items in the rear of fridge are not visible unless you remove about half the items on the shelf. It leaks and drips water through the upper light in bottom section then pools on the floor about once a week.

The levelers are very cheap. If you try to open the doors after about a minute of closing them a vacuum prevents you from opening them for 2-3 minutes. We have had no troubles with televisions, washer/dryers.

This is the last product I will ever buy from them.

I have this fridge for only 3 weeks so it may be too early to tell. My first impression is that the workmanship is not the best. Not only were there minor cosmetic issues like the plastic film not coming off completely, there were insulation out of the edges and caulk or glue showing though cracks, the place where the handle is placed has a gap from the door frame.

The gasket around the door for the seal had gaps both on side to fridge door and to the side of door seal when closing door. Also on one the two corners, which I think are cosmetic coverings fell off within 5 minutes of delivery and the gasket seal does not sit flush against the corners.

Because of the gap in the gasket seal I had to manually adjust it. Regarding freezer, ice formed daily on inside of edges until I read one of the reviews which suggested to put vaseline along the edges and that stopped the frost from forming.

Please try vaseline if you have that problem. I don’t think this should happen with a brand new $790 fridge so it shows bad workmanship and as others before me reviewed. what happened to Whirlpool? The fridge do cycle on very frequently ( 30 minutes on) yet I do not open door very often and only for short time.

There are also different sounds coming from this new fridge like the fan slowly coming to a stop and the really weird sizzling sounds that I would heard or the sound of dripping. Maybe this is normal with new fridges.

My old one lasted over 20 years so I don’t know how this compares. For the fingerprint issue on the stainless steel front, I used a few drops of olive oil and wiped down and that definitely helps temporarily.

I guess if the visible workmanship on the outside of the fridge is any indication of what is inside, I am a little hesitant to fully recommend this particular fridge to anyone. I wish the warranty would last more than a year.

I did not buy the extended warranty because it would be added cost of $180. In summary, the fridge is working so I guess. so far so good.

This unit was our replacement for a long-serving, durable Frigidaire that gave us nearly 30 years of service. It’s not been near long enough to make final judgement on this Whirlpool fridge but so far, everything has worked well.

Things we like: 1) it runs very quiet, 2) it’s efficient in that it doesn’t run long during cycles to maintain temperature, 3) the freezer chills to -20F (or lower) effortlessly without undue frost buildup, 4) the recessed door handles are a huge improvement over the awkward handles (one of Frigidaire’s weak points) and the brushed stainless door finish and grey body are attractive and are easier to maintain appearance.

Internally, it’s a narrow fridge so there isn’t quite the roominess of our old unit but it is laid out nicely. The sliding middle trays are handy and the glass shelving seems durable. But, the real test of this unit’s worth will only take time – lots of time.

It has a long ways to go to equal or surpass our older unit. Oh, and family and guests all like the outward ‘minimalist’ appearance. Nothing to snag a sleeve or apron while whisking around the kitchen.

I bought this refrigerator about 3 years ago! It is still going strong. There is good enough interior storage. Some of the features that appeal to me is how you can adjust the height of the shelves to accommodate big or small storage items.

I also love the flexi-slide bin. The bin can be slid to the left or to the right if more storage height is needed. The freezer design, and its storage capacity are good enough for items that will be used within a certain time period.

For larger items, and longer storage, you might want to invest in a small upright, 5. 0+ cu. ft household freezer! One downside, the top freezer door has a tendency of popping slightly open when the bottom door is closed! If you have kids, this can be annoying and a bit problematic when they open and close the lower door! You will have to remember to check the top freezer door to make sure it is tightly closed!! Cleaning the exterior is not too painful.

I have a stainless steel one that I simply wipe with a sponge and warm sudsy water, or just with sheets of alcohol wipes followed by dry paper towels or a dry, cleaning, cloth.

We decided to sell our old refrigerator, which was still working pretty well, but was starting to show its age, about 10 years old. Prices have gone up in that time, a lot. This fridge was the same exact cubic ft.

, and less features, but cost well over $300 more! So, was it worth it? Jury is still out. The former fridge came with an ice maker which we did not connect. This one did not have that. Other than that they were very similar.

The produce drawers at the bottom have a cheap, chintzy, plasticy feel, like they are less durable and could break easier. The other drawers were more solid and seemed more durable, less likely to break.

This unit is noisier, by far. It’ll make gurgling sounds for a good long time every so often. If you are looking for a quiet unit, this is not it. The layout is slightly different in that it is wider, yet shorter, which my wife likes, as she is 5’2”.

It holds the same amount as the previous fridge, but does not accommodate a big turkey very easily, which was disappointing. You can’t adjust the shelves to make that easier. The door, however is better and can hold large beverage bottles like gallons, but we stick with half gallons.

The butter storage is bigger and has a closing lid. The wide glass shelves are strong, tempered glass, but because they are wider, they can be stocked with more items, which makes me a tad nervous that they could catastrophically fail at some point if inadvertently overloaded.

So, the noise it makes, frequent and substantial, as well as the shelf configuration being suboptimal, plus the dramatically higher price means it couldn’t earn five stars. But because it works as it should, and we haven’t had any freezing issues in the refrigeration section like we did with the old one (so far), I could only deduct one star, but it should be 3.

5 stars. The guys at Best Buy damaged the entryway to the kitchen while bringing it in, even though we pre-measured and said the doors would need to come off first, causing $250 in damage, which was amicably settled, eventually, and doesn’t affect this rating, but was a concern.

The Pros: Good storage space for my needs. Well lit inside the fridge compartment. Bins inside are handy. Pretty quiet. Temperature is where it should be on this one. Frost does not seem to build up in freezer, but keeps food icy cold.

Door seal is really solid. Nice looking fridge. The Cons: No light in freezer compartment (the fridge part is very nicely lit, though. ) Difficult to clean condenser coils, but idk of any fridge where that is easy to get to.

Kick plate on bottom is tricky to put back on. Just takes a bit of patience. But i will only remove it once or twice a year to clean out the house dust behind it. This is the second Whirlpool i have owned of the same model.

The first one i had trouble keeping the temperature steady below 40 F in the fridge compartment, unless i put it on coldest setting (most snowflakes) and rushed to take items out to close the door quickly.

The freezer was always cold though. The first one also made rather bizarre sounds occasionally when running (for a few minutes and not constantly. ) This second one has a different thermostat with LED lights instead of the snowflake dial of the first one i had.

and this one keeps the temp nice and steady cold in both freezer and fridge and Does Not make cRaZy, mysterious noises on occasion and this runs runs a lot quieter than the first one i had. So overall, i’m very happy that i bought the same model and so far it’s been “groovy.

” This is my own personal experience – your mileage may vary.

We bought this unit a year ago and have been very satisfied. With 37 degree standard temp, food stays fresher longer. Also, by using locking storage containers along with paper towels, we throw out almost nothing.

The center drawer is very convenient because it keeps smaller items from stacking up on the other shelves. The built-in hidden door handle makes for a more sleek look and safer experience. The door shelves easily hold gallon containers.

We have 1 gallon bottle about 12 smaller condiment bottles in each shelf. Be sure to properly adjust the front feet at installation. Make sure the door hinge side is high enough to help close the door.

The door has a hitch in it near closing so it takes a bit of effort to close it. Adjusting the feet will also help reduce noise from the compressor. (I found this out on the website, which is very informative and well done.

FYI: The fridge does make some popping and other various noises during operation. Overall, we’re fine with it, especially for the price.

For awhile I thought it was user error. Maybe I put something too big in the freezer door? Or maybe the kids aren’t closing the door? After returning from a vacation to find the freezer door ajar and everything melted, I decided to take a good look at the situation.

Was there something impeding the door cloure? No. What could it be? After several tests I realized that when I opened the refrigerator door and allowed it to shut using only the force of the gravity hinge, the compression caused by the door closing was enough to pop open the freezer door about 1/4″.

Enough to force the freezer to run continuously. And after days of continuous running with the door ajar, it was not enough to maintain freezing temperature. Now we have a sign on the door that says “CLOSE FREEZER”, because this probably happens 1/3rd of the time someone opens the door.

In retrospect this has been happening since the refrigerator was new, but I always assumed it was the fault of one of the kids. It’s hard to believe after 50 years of using refrigerators, and all of the R&D that LG must put into product design that this could even happen.

Haven’t we pretty much figured out the basic refrigerator by now?.

Purchased about one year ago. Having major issues with fridge and freezer temperatures. We throw out so much food because the fridge is not cold enough. I have been sick multiple times because the fridge does not maintain its temp.

It is a big fridge but it holds very little. The vents in the back of the freezer can not be covered or it will start to malfunction. The actual space is way less then advertised,for the fridge to function properly.

Less expensive, smaller ones have operated more efficiently and held more groceries. Temp adjusts to a type of auto defrost mode in freezer but reduces the cool of the entire fridge, causing food to spoil quickly.

Could not understand why groceries were going bad so quickly because fridge will remain cool but not cold enough. Please be careful! The warranty is only good for one year. THIS IS A RED FLAG ABOUT THE INTEGRITY OF THIS PRODUCT.

This is an excellent basic refrigerator. I’ve had this refrigerator for about 60 days and so far it is performing beautifully. Set to the recommended settings. I am finding the temperatures to be just right in both the refrigerator and the freezer.

When it comes to noise, I know that can be a subjective opinion, but as far as I’m concerned, I would consider the noise from this refrigerator middle of the road. It’s not the loudest refrigerator I’ve ever heard, but it’s definitely not the quietest.

The only time I really noticed the sound is when the house is completely quiet and nothing is running. If you prefer your refrigerator to be whisper quiet, this is not for you, but if you don’t mind a little white noise in the background, there are no issues here.

The shelves are wire instead of glass, but I have noticed no issues with flexing. if all you want is a traditional style refrigerator that is basic and doesn’t have a ton of extra items that just run up the cost then this refrigerator is for you.

Would definitely recommend.

This Hotpoint fridge replaces a Hotpoint just like it which lasted for years. This one has been updated, Energy Star for instance, and now has separate bins, one to use for fruit and another for veggies.

My fresh produce is lasting a lot longer in this new fridge. This is a great fridge for those with limited space (it took all the room I had for it–small kitchen) or for a second fridge. I bought baskets to help organize it.

I may be alone on this but I prefer wire shelves thinking the air can circulate better and they are easier to keep clean. Finally, I wanted/needed white which is hard to come by these days and this Hotpoint is white!! Overall, for my purposes, a great fridge.

Now if it will just last as long as the last one lasted.

I am quite happy with my 15. 6 cu. ft. Hotpoint refrigerator. I needed an economical model that was not too tall. It is quiet and keeps my food quite cold. It comes with a built-in LED light which I will probably never have to change.

It also comes with a freezer rack, my old refrigerator did not come with any. I like to store a lot in my freezer, so I ordered another freezer rack from GE Parts, the freezer has brackets for two of them.

Overall, I am a satisfied customer.

Purchased the refrigerator – transferred food from old unit – set temp and went on weekend trip. Monday at our return – fridge was running all of the time only at 45 degrees no matter where the temp control was set on.

Lowes refused to exchange – did call for us your repairman under warrantee service. Repairman came – 4 days later – attempted to fix – with no success. Now waiting for parts that are backlogued for 10-14 days.

Most of the food had to be trashed. Since your unit was not cooling to a safe food temperature and also the compressor was running all of the time at only 45 degrees. – we shut it down – walting for parts and repairman to come back- which will be some time.

Purchased a min-fridge to keep milk, butter, eggs etc. until we get an operating unit. Not happy with Lowes refusing to exchange – they blamed that on your return policy – not sure if that is true?? You do make good reliable product’s – just got one that was bad out of the box.

Just lost some food and had to purchase an interim solution – but thing’s could be worst. We have electricity and A/C.

We’re renters, and this unit was bought for us by our landlords. It’s smaller than our old one, and the shelves are very close together in any configuration. In order to have one shelf with room for tall beverages (milk cartons, etc.

), the lower two shelves are only a few inches apart. Single-serve beverages have to lay on their sides on the bottom shelf, and it’s difficult to reach an arm all the way to the back of the middle shelf.

A household with any more than two people should definitely not buy this unit unless it’s a second fridge; it wouldn’t hold enough food. We’re playing Jenga just to find room for what we need for the two of us.

A few things I found particularly odd: the butter compartment in the door won’t fit a standard/small tub of butter. I had to remove the little “garage” door that wouldn’t close with the butter in it.

And the compartment in the door that’s clearly meant for a carton of eggs? Yeah, no. It’s not wide enough for a standard carton of eggs. Either the egg carton has to lean back on the back row of eggs, or the eggs need to take up space on a regular shelf, and you have this odd, narrow door compartment left over to squeeze something else into.

We made do (we use it for individual yogurt cups), but it seems insane that neither of those compartments can fit the products they’re meant for. Probably the dumbest case of poor design I’ve seen in an appliance.

That said: it’s fantastically cold (we keep ours on 3 out of 5), has PLENTY of space in the freezer and crisper drawers, and strong door suction that keeps everything sealed up nice and tight. After dealing with a dying fridge for so long, this one is definitely an upgrade.

It’s a really good model. Our food stays fresh a LOT longer than it used to.

I bought this fridge as a replacement for another brand that had a catastrophic failure. Changing the orientation of the doors was a bit of a hassle, but the instructions were fairly thorough and everything was well set up for me to get it done on my own with confidence.

Getting the unit just where I wanted it was a breeze with the included casters. Once it was all in place and ready to go I was thrilled by how quickly and efficiently it began working. Capacity is great for the slightly smaller size, which is perfect for my space.

The operating noises aren’t super quiet but are consistent and not bothersome. Having the ability to add an ice maker down the line is a nice option. Features and performance are very solid for the money.

Hasn’t let me down yet and I expect that it will serve me well for years to come!.

I’ve owned this fridge for a few weeks now and purchased at Lowe’s on sale. I did a lot of research and selected this one for price and simplicity after originally wanting to get something with many more features.

I also was recommended this fridge by the folks at my local appliance parts center where they said availability of parts is very good and that these are durable. Apparently, other popular (foreign) brands are seeing wait times for parts in excess of 6 months.

With 5 kids, I need that peace of mind. It replaced a unit that had a bottom freezer with slide-out drawers. The overall capacity of this one on paper is the same in terms of cubic feet but the usable space seems much greater, especially the freezer.

Everything works well. The doors are easy to close and open. No more yanking on a super tight seal. I didn’t get the optional icemaker because reviews showed the ice tends to clump together in one big block.

White fridges are pretty hard to find these days. I also liked that the coils are easy access for cleaning. They are in the back of the fridge and can be accessed by removing a panel. Of course, you have to pull the fridge away from the wall for this.

My previous fridge had the coils on the bottom and could only be accessed for cleaning by emptying the fridge and tipping it on its side which meant they never got cleaned, shortening the lifespan. They were very dusty when I disposed of it.

The only issue I’ve had was one that been shown in other reviews where the steel seams on top of the doors are partly exposed. I called Frigidaire who very quickly dispatched someone under warranty and put some appliance paint on them.

They look 100% now. Overall, very happy with this purchase and I know Frigidaire support is solid if I ever need it in the future.

Had to replace a unit quickly and readily available options were few. Frigidaire keeps asking for a review on this new purchase. Of course, I can’t yet comment on reliability so I’ll comment on what I know.

Here are pluses besides availability: price was attractive. Unit looks good. Handle design is good. It’s a little bigger than other competitive models in same approximate envelope. Clear and easy controls.

Door reversal was pretty straightforward. Here are some cons. This is very basic in some areas. The only leveling is with old school front feet even though the generic manual describes a more sophisticated system that would raise and lower the front rollers.

Result is that the leveled fridge must be scooted on the front feet rather than rolled endangering the floor. Affordability is somewhat diminished when you have to purchase the unique ice maker which I could only find at a price about 3X that if work horse generics.

Ice maker was boxed with no instructions and apparently has no warranty. I called Frigidaire after installing because it had not started working and agent in call center was not knowledgeable enough to explain why not.

Apparently there is a tstat that must be satisfied before will activate the fill valve and that took more than 90 minutes I waited. All in all my verdict is Positive but time must tell.

Our top-freezer refrigerator was no longer working after 13 years of service. We spent many hours searching for a replacement with the same features with the freezer on the top. We were not looking for a fridge with bells and whistles, but just a model that would have good size storage, a top freezer and ample room in the drawers and doors at a reasonable price.

This model surpassed all our expectations of it. It does not have the ice maker but gives us more storage space as we like making our own ice. It is quiet, has a movable slide deli drawer from side to side, LED lighting and the crisper drawers are very easy to slide.

We absolutely love this model. The freezer has no light, but don’t let that deter you as our kitchen light is quite ample to supply us with a perfect view inside. A light is really not needed in that area.

The price we paid for this model was very reasonable and exactly what we were looking for. We purchased it at Lowe’s, and it was delivered quickly. The delivery was free, and we paid for the removal of our old fridge.

It was worth every cent of the $30. 00 charge for them to take it away. Please do not hesitate to purchase this model. We are very satisfied.

I have only used the refrigerator for one month now. So time will tell and hope my concerns I shared with the supplier and Frigidaire, do not come to fruition. The back of the refrigerator (bottom area) is missing the ‘grate plate/cover’ that covers and protects the coolant and ALL of the electrical/mechanical parts?? I have never in my decades of appliance ownership seen this before.

and why would I? Dust, debris and potential critters would undoubtedly damage this area and lead to a full breakdown of the appliance’s operation. I would then be responsible for the costly parts and repair.

because Frigidaire decided this cover was not necessary. Again, so far so good. but I am only a month into ownership. I would hope, if I have an issue beyond the one year warranty, that Frigidaire would right their wrong and oversee the replacement or the cost of materials and labor to repair.

I read the reviews before I bought this refrigerator. I only had 27” width to work with so obviously that’s a limitation. I agree that the freezer could be about 3 inches shorter vertically. It’s too bad the company is not listening to the customers.

It would make this a 5 star refrigerator. Given that, it’s great for me because I do buy in bulk and it suits my lifestyle. I would not buy this if that were not the case. I would suggest this as an over flow fridge for the freezer and to store beverages.

I’ve had this for a month and it’s running nicely. The only other comment I would make is the glass shelves prohibit the airflow a little bit.

We had to purchase a new fridge to replace our older one that was having issues. We looked for months and finally after much comparisons we decided on this one. We’ve had it for a month and we just love it.

It keeps things cold and the freezer keeps our ice and frozen items nice and frozen. It hold so much stuff. We have a family of 3 and it holds all our necessities. Large items small items. I would highly recommend this model if you are looking for a small space fridge.

The Whirlpool refrigerator is just the right size for our 2 person duplex and we are so pleased with this quiet, efficient replacement. The price was right. We didn’t want or need all the bells and whistles, just a fridge that would freeze what needed freezing and keep everything else nice and cold.

I am a fan of Whirlpool appliances, and this one certainly lives up to our expectations. I must also praise Best Buy for making our shopping experience easy and pleasant. The delivery personnel were also great, handling installation quickly and professionally.

We were so pleased to be treated to “service with a smile. ” I will shop Best Buy again, and Whirlpool products remain at the top of my list.

I am sorry I allowed my husband to shop for an appliance without me, when our 5 year old Whirpool stopped cooling and freezing. I thought he was aware I didn’t want another Whirlpool. IT is smaller than I wanted and after 2 weeks of waiting for it to freeze properly I changed the cooling and freezing settings from the factory settings to Maximum and it helped.

When a whirlpool rep came out I found out that I set the freezer to minimum instead of maximum. It is odd that minimum worked better than the factory settings. It was so dark in the freezer part and my eyesight isn’t great, so I could not tell which letters read min and which read max.

The Max was on the left side of the dial and min was on the right side, which is the opposite of what it is in the fridge part of the refrigerator.

I’m very satisfied. My old fridge was in the process of dying and I was limited by size constraints to VERY FEW refrigerators. Most new fridges require a bigger hole than I have. Anyway I looked at Lowes, Home Depot and Best Buy and called an appliance store.

Home Depot had a different brand that would fit the area and was slightly larger than the Whirlpool, but Home Depot could not guarantee it could be delivered in a timely manner (thanks to covid restrictions back east where they are manufactured).

So then I had one choice – the Whirlpool. I ordered it on a Saturday evening just before quitting time and it was delivered Wednesday morning bright and early. The timing was perfect for me as I was not available Monday or Tuesday.

It’s running great and I was surprised to realize I like the interior layout of this Whirlpool better than I did my old fridge. The butter keeping area is a little smaller than the old fridge so I will need to get a new butter dish.

I’ve had it less than a month so am not sure yet how it will affect the electric bill, but I suspect my electricity charges will go down as the old one ran a lot. The motor noise is a little different sounding than the old fridge but it’s pretty quiet.

It is not at all distracting.

We purchased this refrigerator as a replacement for a 30 year old refrigerator. The new refrigerator has a larger freezer, which is good, but to get items out of the refrigerator you need to bend over more.

However, the new layout of door and refrigerator shelves is not as good. The door shelves are wider to accommodate a gallon size milk or water container. This means that the interior shelves of the refrigerator are narrower.

The bottom door shelf is positioned just above the door gasket. It will hold very short bottles but access to the shelf is difficult because the next shelf up is wider. These two shelves cannot be switched with each other because the wider door shelf would hit the crispers if you try to close the door.

After installation, the refrigerator took about 5 hours to reach correct cooling temperature. During this cooling period, the refrigerator was louder than normal operation of the old refrigerator. During normal operation, it is slightly louder than the old one.

The freezer and refrigerator have glass shelves. The door shelves have solid bottoms. Both features make cleaning easier. An ice maker is not included, but is an option. If you are old school, there isn’t an ice container.

Also, it does not include an egg tray.

When shopping for a garage refrigerator, my wife and I needed something that could handle the temperature extremes we experience here in the desert southwest. This model interested us because it will supposedly perform at ambient temperatures of 38º-110ºF.

However, we haven’t yet had triple digits this year, so I cannot speak to the validity of this claim. Otherwise, the unit seems about right for its price point. Once it was in place and plugged in, both the fridge and the freezer reached the set temperatures within a couple of hours.

It has no bells or whistles; the shelves, drawers, and door storage are okay, and seem to function fine. If you are expecting spill-proof shelves, you will be disappointed. Also, it isn’t the quietest fridge; that said, I’ve definitely heard noisier ones.

This refrigerator was obviously designed to be an auxiliary unit and placed in your garage, not the main refrigerator for your kitchen. If that is your expectation, you will probably be satisfied with this purchase.

I am giving 4 stars because I have only had this refrigerator for one full day, but so far so good. I really miss my bottom freezer but they make the new units too large to fit through any of my entranceways.

However, this unit’s freezer is spacious and made a solid tray of ice cubes in less than two hours. I set the unit in both fridge and freezer to the maximum level (5) when first turned on. Heads up it is a bit noisy when it first runs, this is expected with new units.

I had it installed at 10:30 AM and the unit did not stop running all day. I went in the kitchen at about 11PM and reduced the setting to 4 and the unit stopped running. Now when it runs it is fairly quiet.

FDA recommends settings to be at 3. I will see if I will lower the setting once I get an internal thermometer to check temps. (temps for fridge should be at least 40 degrees. ) Crisper bins and deli drawer are a bit small.

There is a lot of door space for drinks and other bottles and jars. Most new units come with ice cube trays, this one did not. So far satisfied. I will see how long prepared food and leftovers stay fresh once the unit is filled to capacity.

Bought this Premium 10. 1 cubic foot refrigerator as a secondary garage refrigerator and it is great. Excellent LED lighting, adjustable clear glass shelves and large clear crisper bin. Placed a temp gauge inside both the freezer and fridge and they keep a perfect temperature.

Quiet, efficient and very pleasant to use.

I needed an extra fridge to keep my produce fresh. I do not have enough room in my current fridge alone. I use this for the extra produce and to refrigerate meals I’ve made ahead. It’s quiet and works well.
