20 Best Fridge For Small Kitchen (2023 Updated)

This fridge is so noisy i can hear it buzzing everywhere in the house ! This is on the pricier side but i bought it because has “Quiet” in the description and it has a good design. But i am stuck now with a junk because the noise is so bad.

I can’t sleep with the noise even if we are on different floors. I did all that was in the instructions and it is stable on a flat surface. Even so it does not stop buzzing and i can’t return it or exchange it, because i have to take it to Bestbuy myself for them to change or return.

I live alone and have back problem so i can’t really move it to bestbuy. Very disappointing and cheaply made. Not worth this price. With the noise not worth a penny, i even have to pay more to get rid of it.

I’ve had my 3. 1 cu. ft. Retro Mini Fridge with Dual Door True Freezer from Galzan for about a week so far, and for the most part I’m pretty happy with it. I love the look of this fridge. It is a bright cherry red fridge, and the retro design makes this super cute.

It has a great amount of space to it! With 3. 1 cu. ft. of storage space, this fridge/freezer has WAY more storage space than I thought it would have. In the freezer I could fit 3 full size pizza boxes! This is not your dorm room fridge and freezer where you can barely fit anything in it! The same goes for the fridge part too, it has a great capacity to it.

The drawers and shelves that it comes with are really easy to install too. They just slip into place. Unfortunately, there were a few aspects that I wasn’t too crazy about. Firstly, the door handles are not attached and need to be assembled when you receive the fridge.

Normally, I wouldn’t have a problem putting on some handles, but they have a very sturdy plastic piece that needs to be pushed down to secure the handle. It took three of us to get the handles on (one pushing down the plastic piece, one pushing on the handle, and one holding the fridge so it wouldn’t tip over).

I also didn’t think that the freezer was amazing. Some of the frozen food that I put in, when I went to take out were soft. When I put ice trays in though, they froze solidly. Overall, it’s a pretty good mini fridge for the money, but I don’t think I’m going to put any ice cream in the freezer any time soon.

I would recommend this fridge/freezer combo so far though!.

I love this retro styled mini refrigerator with freezer! The red color is perfect with the retro look I was going for. The assembly was very simple – just slide the 2 door handles on. There are 2 shelves in the refrigerator and they are tempered glass which is very nice.

Other mini fridges I have used had plastic shelves. I really like how quiet it is. When the compressor turns on, there is only a slight hum. That is really nice as it doesn’t interfere with anything.

The freezer works much better than I had anticipated. It freezes iced cream very hard – I was worried about it not being cold enough and soft ice cream. The refrigerator is big enough for storing what I need.

The temperature dial works well to regulate the temperature – I had to turn the dial to 4 which for me was the perfect temperature to keep the refrigerated food cold enough without freezing the drinks.

Overall, I would highly recommend this Galanz mini refrigerator and freezer – definitely a good investment!.

There is only a minor defect. The door handle cannot be pushed all the way to the edge when assembling. Seems like the space is a little bit too small towards the far left. But it is still sturdy enough to be used in its fixed position.

Just cannot turn the handle. Still can open the door. It is very cute for my TV room and it is convenient for my kids to get cold drinks in the summer. The bottle opener attached to the fridge is a nice feature.

Overall, this fridge was a great addition to my office! It lost a start since it was a bit more limited inside in terms of space, but it has been fantastic in terms of functioning and aesthetic! The handle surprised me since it’s literally just a pull – not a handle that has a hinge.

The height of the shelf prohibits some items from fitting above and below, but that’s fixed by removing the shelf, or buying a bigger fridge altogether. I also dislike how the freezer only freezes 3/4 of my ice cube tray, however I don’t blame the fridge itself but the simple fact that I have so much in there needing to be cooled.

I wish the freezer wasn’t the first to go but I don’t know if that’s actually fault of the fridge or my choices. Either way, the retro style is very sleek and beautiful!.

Great for the price. The color trim on the top to look almost like a rose gold. It isnt. On the black one it is actually grayish, so that was kind of deceiving. That all said, its not bad looking and does the job.

I brought this refrigerator about a month ago. It took 2 weeks to get delivered. And when it finally came it didn’t work. I’m so unhappy and disappointed with the refrigerator. I called black & decker and explained the issue and they told me that I had a defective refrigerator and to send it back ASAP.

I’m so upset. Now i have to package it up and send it right back.

This fridge is a great size, not too big or too small and it keeps everything so nice and cold! Some fridges don’t quite get your milk cold enough, but this one does.

If you put the dial to the factory setting the fridge will freeze the top and the main fridge part, making it a giant freezer. If I turn the knob down a tiny bit then it won’t freeze the top and the whole thing becomes a giant fridge.

I would suggest trying to find another fridge that does a better job than this one. It looks pretty but doesn’t do its job. It also has limited space inside for your food. Overall, I was not pleased with this product.

I bought this because I needed more freezer space for my dog’s raw meat delivery. I didn’t want to put a freezer in the basement so I put it in my ensuite bathroom. Since there’s also a fridge I thought wow this is great! I’ll add a hot plate and mini toaster oven and now I have a full kitchen! The colour matches the baby blue tiles and I found mini retro appliances too! Love it! I share my kitchen with 3 roommates so they can start taking the garbage out because I have MY OWN bins.

In fact, there really isn’t any reason for me to leave my bathroom at all anymore. Yay!.

The only set-up required is untaping all of the shelves and vegetable drawer and installing the handles. While it is not very big, it easily holds three cases of 24 12 oz cans with extra room in the door.

The separate top freezer holds four quart containers of ice cream with room to spare. A nice feature is the main compartment light as well as the door’s ability to store a couple of 2 liter soda bottles.

The fit and finish is very nice for a compact style refrigerator. The glass shelves are another nice feature. The motor and compressor run quietly with no rattles or vibration. All of the cooling mechanicals can be viewed from the open compartment at the base of the back of the unit.

The quality of the components and their assembly appear to be top notch. The freezer is not frost free – does have a hint of ice buildup forming. It does have a one year manufacturers warranty. Everyone who sees it finds it very eye catching and retro! Can be used in garage and indoors for an extra access.

I bought this product just under a year ago to keep in my office for client beverages and my lunch, etc. came boxed very well and followed the instructions to let it sit overnight before plugging it in.

Once plugged in, it quickly got cold and has more than enough room for what I need it for. It’s pretty quiet and isn’t a distraction while I’m having a meeting. It looks sharp and the lock is nice too.

Unfortunately I came in after a weekend and for some reason it wasn’t cold anymore. I contacted customer service and they got back to me with some troubleshooting measures. No success with that but they offered to send out a new one if I sent the serial number over since they determined it was still under the 1 year warranty.

New one is on its way! The customer service was so helpful and quick to help from start to finish. Although it stopped working for some reason, they were quick to honor the warranty so I’m very impressed.

I’ve had this fridge in use now for about 3 months and can only report below expected performance. I will say that the manufacturer has been very supportive and delivered good customer service, but the fridge is overall disappointing (more below,) I have it installed in a basement wet bar under a cabinet, as intended.

It looks nice, was a good price, and is relatively quiet, but the performance is disappointing. In short it will not cool drinks to the promised 37 degrees. The digital readout will display 37 degrees, but in reality it only gets drinks down to about 41 or 42, regardless of placement in the fridge.

This is with the fridge full and in a cool shaded area in the interior of the house where the air temp is regularly 68-70 degrees. I am actually on my second fridge. When the first one I received didn’t cool to 37 I contacted the manufacturer and they sent me a new temperature sensor, which I installed.

When that did not correct the problem they sent me a new fridge. Again, commend them for great service. However the new fridge cools no better than the first one, and is actually a little noisier. A final note, I would not recommend buying a medium size and heavy appliance to be delivered by a carrier as opposed to an appliance delivery service.

Both fridges arrived with slight dents, nothing of significant damage, and not worth returning, but still a less than ideal experience. Something this large and heavy just wasn’t meant to be shipped in cardboard and Styrofoam, So I’m keeping it since I am outside the return window, but if/when it breaks someday I won’t be replacing it with the same model.

I bought the Newair AB1200 fridge after a review of competing units. Additionally, Wirecutter highly recommended this unit. I have been very pleased with the design and performance of the fridge which I use in my “cave”.

I would buy another, if I have the need. And I definately recommend that one should buy this unit if the are looking for a 126 beverage container unit. The unit can fit most anywhere. It is quieter than my wine cooler! Additionally, Newair’s customer service people are outstanding performers, responsive, courteous, and professional.

Their business model apparently prioritizes customer service, a rarity in the world today. My unit developed a problem. I called Newair today and they are already taking steps to correct the problem.

I recommend the fridge and Newair as a company to do business with.

My whole office keeps stopping by to see my cute office. Everyone loves the mint green retro theme I’m doing. This fridge is the perfect eye-catching happiness-inducing accent piece. It looks good and it functions exactly as needed.

Lots of space in the freezer. I love the little mini ice cube tray that was included. Even though this refrigerator arrived well-packaged, there were a couple of dings. nothing excessively obvious. It doesn’t bother me enough to ask for a replacement.

Overall, I’d give this 9 out of 10 stars, 10 being the best. I’m very happy with this refrigerator.

The refrigerator holds so many cold products!! And the freezer is surprisingly big for such a compact appliance. It has great style and keeps perfect temperature.

It’s a beautiful fridge overall, gorgeous with my new retro stove. It’s compact, so probably wouldn’t work for a larger family. It works well for just my teenage daughter and self. My one issue is with the freezer drawers.

They are small capacity and opaque, not clear like the fridge drawers, so I can’t see what’s inside each one. They also slide outward and slope/hang down and will pull all the way out if you don’t hold them up.

Therefore, it’s a bit tricky trying to pull something out while holding the drawer up.

This fridge looks good but is of very poor quality and is difficult to open. The vegetable drawer falls out and spills when fully extended. Plastic exterior and cheap plastic fittings inside do not watts T the high price compared to other fridges.

Love my purchase. The fridge is beautiful and bery practical. I had a great experience buying on Wayfair. I highly recommend it!

Purchasing this wanky unit was a HUGE mistake! It is incredibly noisy and keeps me awake at night vibrating! I have to get up and turn it off at the power point to make it stop! Getting the local service agents for Smeg to come fix it is another issue as their communication is terrible! I wish I could send it back!.

So far , it has worked perfectly! I keep milk for my cuppa and a cold drink in it in my upstairs craft room so I don’t make extra trips up and down stairs. Very quiet. It does accumulate some moisture inside during high humidity days; a folded paper towel on the bottom takes care of that.

No temperature setting, but interior is 35-40 degrees colder than room temperature. Recommended.

I like it for my mother. She has glaucoma, and she is on a walker. The drops for her glaucoma require her to refrigerate the drops. I wanted to buy this to place it in her room, so it is easier for her.

One evening I placed them in the Mini Fridge, and turned it on. Well when I arrived my mother stated that it was hot, and I did not believe her, It frightened me to know it was on for 5 hours, and it has a “hot” option and a “child option.

Seriously though a fridge with a “hot” option. That did not go well. It looks nice, and can serve some purposes.

Build quality is decent. Design looks good. Cooling works well. But when it cool, lots of moisture and water drops build inside. I don’t know the reason. Whenever i open the door, some water is coming out.

No door shelves is why is purchased one. Have had this model for several years. Agree with other reviewer, but long term extended warranty. My first lasted ~3-1/2 yrs. warranty policy replaced it with another, only a year old now.

I love this little fridge! If you are a teacher, or someone who works in their own office, I highly and *STRONGLY* recommend that you buy this fridge over other fridges. It has lasted me for the past 2 years that I’ve been teaching.

You can rearrange the shelves inside the fridge to accommodate any size item you need to put in there. It’s also surprisingly spacious. Me and another teacher share this fridge: with our lunches, coffee creamers, sodas, etc.

and we’ve never had an issue with space. The best part about this is the fact you get an entirely separate freezer compartment too, and when you buy it when it’s on sale during the back-to-school season, you get so much bang for your buck.

Overall, highly recommend.

Good size. Keeping in my room where my husband works from home. Great way to keep some drinks and snacks in the home office.

The size was right. Nice and small. Perfect for cooling beverages.

Nice looking and fit the custom built in space that I needed and has a lock. Unfortunately, this was a very expensive refrigerator that looks nice but overpriced for what it does. If I didn’t need these exact dimensions and a lock, there are other less expensive options.

The key broke from normal daily use due to cheap brittle metal and fatigue less than 2 years. They wanted $50 for a replacement set. They wouldn’t give me a replacement or ship one at reasonable cost.

I have to admit, I just chose this Summit appliance set because it looked good in our kitchen. Fridge looks good on this inside too and keeps things cool. I bought this beautiful piece for my room and so far I can’t complain.

The storage space is unmatched and I love the attention to detail Summit put into this model. I’m so glad a friend of mine recommended this and sent me the link to this shop. I will post some pictures soon!.

This was the best under counter fridge because it offers additional storage space inside the door, has an inside light, a freezer that has a door that closes and works, etc. Also Mr. Steve the PC Richards salesman in Brick or Wall, NJ, was a true salesman.

He was patient, informed, solicitous, and courteous. Something you don’t come across these days.

Please read this before getting this fridge. I usually dont write reviews but this fridge has caused me a lot of annoyances. This fridge is aesthetically really nice but, I will be honest, it comes with a lot of issues.

It’s definitely a hit or miss; some people getting perfectly working fridges, and some people get fridges like mine. So it is very important that you check your fridge as soon as you get it. I, unfortunately, did not do that.

I bought this right when I moved into a new place(last June), and since it was so hectic, I didn’t open or check the fridge until like a month later(last July/early Aug), which is about 2 weeks after Best Buy’s return policy date.

So please definitely check the condition of your fridge ASAP. My fridge came with a lopsided freezer door that wouldn’t shut properly and inside drawers with cracks in them. But the biggest issue was the noise.

I’m not a mechanic so I can’t be completely sure, but I think my fridge had an issue with the compressor so it was making insanely loud noises that could be heard from the first floor of my house. This happened a couple days after I turned it on.

If I could, I would’ve added the videos of the noises it was making because I’m pretty sure it would dissuade anyone from buying it. However, if you do get a defective one, pass the 15 day Best Buy return policy, and can’t return it, just so you know, you could still exchange or possibly get it fixed under the manufacturer’s warranty.

This product comes with an one year limited manufacturer warranty, which is covered in the user guide they send you. You can go to any Best Buy and they will fix or exchange the product under the conditions listed in the guide.

So, I took the fridge back to Best Buy, and they allowed me to exchange for a new one at no cost and pretty easily. However, you might want to call and make sure(and make sure to get an appointment) they will do it for you, especially if you don’t live close to a Best Buy.

The employee that helped me did say it’s usually not so easy/simple. The new one is in much better shape. The doors shut well, there are no cracks, and it is much quieter, which is why I said your fridge could be a hit or miss.

There does seem to be a slight cooling issue, but I will have to see if it has any more issues pop up in the next 2 weeks. Overall, I would say this fridge isn’t really worth the trouble. If you want to keep it in a lounge area where noise isn’t really an issue, I’d say it’s an okay fridge since it looks good and does keep things fresh, but definitely not for places where it should be quiet, like a bedroom or office.

Great little fridge. We use it as a drink fridge now, but it got us through a few months of waiting for a full-sized refrigerator to come in stock after our order was delayed several months due to shortages.

It stores about a week’s worth of groceries for 2 people. Used for just beverages, it fits dozens of cans, 8 or so 12 fl oz bottles, and can even fit larger containers if you orient them just right. It’s nice to have a separate freezer that’s actually large enough to fit a few bags of frozen veggies and a tub of ice cream.

The only thing to take note of is that if you stuff it full it can take several hours to cool everything down, but that’s stated in the manual and it recommends not doing that. Visually it’s very cute, but I did notice that the color of the doors doesn’t match the body.

The doors are about the same color as the image, but the body is a bit of a deeper green. The door handles were very difficult to get on, but once they’re on they’re on.

I bought this for my mom to have in a senior living facility. She liked the looks and retro design. We tested its cold and freeze functions and it did a great job, plus it was fairly quiet when cycling.

Only minor niggle, the pull handles had to be attached and did not seem to “lock” in to their notch so they wouldn’t come loose. Unfortunately, we had to return it. The senior facility saw the giant orange sticker on the back of the fridge that the coolant was flammable (think all coolant is?).

Anyhow. Nice retro mini for the few days we had it. Don’t know about longevity. It did make ice quickly in the included tiny ice tray. Great item, but if you have to go through an approval board. Be aware there are big orange stickers on the back listing the hazards of the fridge.

These may hinder your use in certain facilities.

I use this fridge in my ManCave/football room. It fits right in the corner of my room and it’s perfect for any type of drinks and snacks so we can enjoy the football game. I have no problems with it at all.

I realize fridges need to make sound, but this one makes a sound that is just downright annoying. My co-worker even bought the exact same fridge and she took hers back as well because of the sound. Maybe it has something to do with NOT having a freezer? Anyway, it’s a swooshing wave-like sound.

When you’re in an office setting, you can’t have annoying sounds like this. It is NOT your typical motor sound.

I purchased this fridge about 5 days ago. I set it to #4 as the manual suggests it is working fine, nice and cool. It is pretty quiet. It’s about 3 ft from my head when I sleep. It cylcles on and off as it should with a slight hum when it comes on.

You can hear some little noises from time to time of the coolant going through it at a slightly higher noise level then the hum none of which is noticeable unless your next to the refidge. It cooled down pretty fast when you first turn it on.

Ready for what ever in about 6 to 8 hrs though the manual says give it 24 hrs. The metal cooling plate in the back of it has some Ice forming on it and will probably need defrosting from time to time (a given).

You’ll need to remove one of the two shelves if you want to put a gallon container in it. There is room for a half gallon container in the door, and if you remove the bottom pop can holder in the door you have room for another half gallon container.

A dozen of eggs will need to go width ways on the shelf to fit. It did not come with a crisper draw for veggies. You can fit about 3 half gallon jugs in that area or some pop can sized objects even 1 liter tall jugs will fit there if you remove the half shelf that would normally go over the top of the crisper.

The gallon jug is to wide and hits when the door closes to fit in that space. So far I am happy with the product, I do wish there was an extra couple shelf holders to maybe give you more options with the two full size shelves.

As for longevity will have to wait and see. Hope this helps you. 3 stars for Quality as only time will tell. Build seem good.

I previously purchased this make/model a couple of years ago and found it to be a great item. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to take it with me when I moved. I recently found myself in need of another mini-fridge.

I immediately looked for this make/model again. I was happy to find it in stock at my local Best Buy. Unfortunately, my experience this time wasn’t as ideal. The item appeared to have been used/returned.

The packaging, both the box and the interior packaging, exhibited significant wear and tear. The tape used to secure items inside the mini-fridge were not adhered to any component; rather the tape was simply stuck to the side of the interior of the mini-fridge.

The power cord was tangled and wrapped around the cooling components of the mini-fridge. However, the mini-fridge works and it would have been more of a hassle to take it back to the Best Buy to ensure I received a new mini-fridge.

If you receive a new mini-fridge, I highly recommend this one. My lower ratings are reflective of my experience with the Best Buy store selling me what appears to be a used/returned item.

First off, this mini fridge is fantastic. It gets COLD and STAYS COLD. It has plenty of room for all my snack and drinks in our family’s game room. The -2 are for the shipping and packaging material.

My unit arrived with multiple dents from storing, /shipping. I suggest going and picking up in store instead of shipping. ONTrac and Fed Ex are absolute trash. I actually came and looked for reviews about the sides of the unit getting EXTREMELY hot.

There was quite a few reviews saying the same thing. I noticed the unit has a clear protective wrap around the whole unit. My sides got so hot that I couldn’t keep my hand on for more than a second. As soon as I removed the layer of protective film the issue went away.

The sides now get a little warm instead of extremely hot just like normal. The heat exchanger is doing its job.

I have used this as my only refrigerator (in my small apartment) for about a year, and it works fine. It is very quiet. I think it is economical because it stays cold without running very much. The compartments in the door are a bit odd so for me that is wasted space.

I can fit about six or eight frozen meals in the freezer compartment. There is a light in the refrigerator compartment (not in the freezer). There is just one temperature control that governs both compartments.

It was a bit of a challenge to find the right setting so the freezer was cold enough without causing liquid in the refrigerator to freeze. Overall I am happy with this purchase.

This fridge is perfect and the freezer is just perfect for a few frozen microwave items or pop cycles! The fridge compartment holds a good amount of sandwich items for making easy lunches in the shop preventing having to stop work for a long time to go get something to eat! Cold sodas and/or beer fits well too! Runs quietly and its a nice compact size.

I got this several months ago for my off-grid living. 95% of my electricity comes from solar panels. I use a 12 volt, 2000 watt Xantrex pure sine wave inverter to power the refrigerator (and other stuff,) and turn it off at night.

It has two doors which is important if conserving energy. The freezer holds a surprizing amount (in my opinion) for it’s size. It’s door has a great seal too. Great compact freezer. The refrigerator stays plenty cold too, especially since I keep it at the lowest setting possible.

The seal on it isn’t quite as good as the freezer but still good. I can hear it operate if I’m nearby (particularly when it hasn’t been on in sometime) but not enough to be an issue. It is efficient in terms of energy use and has made it possible to have a good refrigerator/freezer in an off-grid situation.

As previously noted I turn it off at night to save energy.

Unlike other models I have owned, this one will get COLD! Nice and COLD. First day I ran it down to Zero. Cut it back to 38ºF and it keeps it right on the money. Nice layout. Put the short rack under the freezer part, and the other two long ones below.

Holds 2 gallons of milk in the bottom, plus one drink. The cola rack is nice. Feeds from the bottom. Good design. Door rack is very good and solid. I run this one on Solar Power during the day on a pure sign-wave inverter.

A nice large mini fridge, does wonders, it can hold lots of stuff for the price. But weve only had it for a month and the freezer portion is collecting ice. Basically its freezing over. I will have to manually break up the ice around it.

Buyer beware. The mini fridge will freeze over. Other then that, everything is great. But I bought this mini fridge because of the reviews and questions answered about the freezer and with my experience it doesnt match up with the responses.

This 4. 3cu ft item runs well. It is very convenient for basic food items and keeping cans of drinks handy. If you want to freeze ice cream it’s not efficient at average setting of 4. If setting increased then items on top shelf are in danger of freezing and still does not freeze ice cream frozen.

Meets most food needs at this time while awaiting my new large refrigerator. NOTE on receipt of item: I picked up item at Target drive up and this item was placed safely in my car but when getting home noted box was damaged with subsequent damage to outside of front door when removed from box.

This did not affect the working of the item but I would of rather given the choice if I wanted a damaged item and possibly offered a discount if I accepted it.

I recently sprained my ankle and I cannot walk. I was looking for a fridge for my room and I purchased this at target. This fridge is amazing it holds all the stuff I need and it is quiet. It is also stainless steel and looks very nice.

The only thing I would say that might be negative to some people is that it is heavy so you need to help carrying it. This refrigerator does not leak. The only con that I can think of is that the freezer does get that ice so you have to use a scraper and scrape it to get it off.

But I love this and I’ve used it for several months. I would re-purchase it again if I needed another one.

I bought this fridge in spring. Remember magic chef being a simple reliable brand. What a bunch of garbage. The top freezer hasn’t worked since it was new. I didn’t think much of it because I have a deep freeze too but knowing I have a one year warranty (parts and labour) I tried to deal with it.

The Home Depot just tells me to deal with the manufacturer and the manufacturer keeps coming up with bs and doesn’t want to replace it or pay for the labour to repair it. What a headache. Even worse, the price went up 250$ since I bought it earlier this year!.

I like it. It is small but roomy, the fresh vegetables boxes are big consider the size of the fridge. The trays at the door and the shelves are great. Overall it is very spacious. I used it as a temporary fridge while waiting for my new fridge to arrive.

The drawback, though, the “recommended very cold” keeps the entire unit, both the freezer and the fridge very cold and it freezes even the eggs and other stuff in the fridge! When I set it to “Cold” the freezer items thawed after a few days so I had to switch it back to “very cold (recommended)”.

Overall a great product if not because of the extreme cold/not cold setting.

I bought this fridge in March 2019, almost 2 yrs and it stopped working. I called Magic Chef and they said they could only replace the compressor after 1 yr warranty expire. Terrible, because didn’t cool any more, technician said no gas inside, maybe the seal is broken, not able to fix at all.

Why buy new if it doesn’t last.
