20 Best Frame For Motorized Bicycle (2023 Updated)

I love bikes. I have eight – yes eight – bicycles. From my antique Raleigh to the Retrospec Beaumont I bought from you last year, I love riding each bike for various reasons. I have biked the Natchez Trace, the Carolina Low Country and most recently, rode from Miami to Key West on a bike.

I live and breathe bicycles. However, my bike trip trough Florida almost killed my enthusiasm. I witnessed a horrible bike accident and had a close call of my own. When I returned home from the trip, I put my bikes away and rode only occasionally on trails where motor vehicles were not allowed.

Then the gas prices started rising and I realized it was silly to fire up my SUV to travel the 3 miles to work each day. I used to be an avid bicycle commuter and knew I could get to work on a less expensive mode of transportation using “girl power.

” But I’m out of shape, the commute home is completely uphill (long, steep climb) and then there’s the whole trauma-inspired fear I face when I ride alongside motorists. I knew Retrospec was a good company and that the Beaumont bike I already had was easy to use, comfortable and GORGEOUS.

so I purchased a Beaumont e-bike, thinking the extra push might help me at least conquer the hills. It was love at first ride. Not only am I commuting to work again, I have somehow overcome my fear of biking in traffic (the sturdy frame and the quick responsiveness of the motor have made me feel safer for some reason).

I know before long I’ll be back in shape and will be riding regular bikes again, but I think I’ve found my main mode of transportation with the Retrospec e-bike. This bike is so much fun to ride that I am looking for excuses to make quick trips to the grocery store, just so I can hop on my e-bike and zoom into town.

I’ve had the bike 3 months now. Tool a while to even ride since it was shipped without the necessary tools and accessories. Took over a week to get proper response from customer service and even more time waiting for the replacements.

Kick stand is not meant for this bike. Its way too short and not sturdy enough. I have to find the right angle of the front wheel on a perfectly even and smooth surface to get it to stay up. A slight breeze easily pushed it over.

And the paint job just doesn’t hold up. This bike is easily scratched and without a firm kickstand this bike had seen way too many scratches. So three months in now starting to rust from the paint easily scratched.

That’s the bike on its own, now attached the dog carrier that was purchase from this same brand purposely to fit and the bike has no chance to stand on its own. Always need to rest it on something and need two people to load the pets since it feels wobbly for them.

Tried adding after market baskets to front or back and nothing seems to fit right. Couldn’t add standard bottle holder, either. In summary, while it’s pretty, design and functional elements need further work.

Got a couple of these to use in place of my Rakk Stands (2. 4 mtb tires do not play well). Overall, these work great once you get used to loading & unloading your bike onto this stand. Comes with a few different tubular sleeves to fit different open style cranks.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this stand for either your mtb or road bikes, and especially if you have an mtb with larger tires Likes: 1) The sleeve allows the cranks to spin freely without basically zero friction, so you can perform light maintenance like cleaning/lubing the chain on the bike 2) Tubular steel construction is durable and has a decent heft to it.

It feels solid and secure once my 33 lb enduro bike is loaded onto it A few very small dislikes: 1) the 2 piece design is great to keep shipping cost low for the manufacturer, but when assembled, the tolerance between the base and upright arm can allow for a little lateral play.

Not a huge deal, but if the securing bolt becomes loose, sometimes it can feel a little sloppy and/or make the loading/unloading process slightly more difficult 2) If you have wood floors, you will want to either put some sort of padding on the bottom or get some rubber/foam tiles to place under the stand 3) Maybe could have a little more heft? Sometimes I find myself putting a foot on the base to keep it from sliding during the loading/unloading process.

I have two of these and use them with a Giant ToughRoad gravel bike and a Trek Checkpoint gravel bike. They are light and portable which makes them very versatile. I popped one in the trunk and took it on a month-long cross country car camping/biking trip in 2021.

At every stop, I had a stand that I could use in the camp ground, in the motel room or in the hotel bike storage room. No need to ever prop my bike up in a precarious manner. I must note that the base needs to be level.

The stand does not work well on a slope or rough ground. The area of the base is small and it will tip over if not on a level. It works with modern mountain bikes, fat bikes and gravel bikes that have a hole through the centre of the crank (the size doesn’t matter as it it comes with adaptors and can be modified to fit very narrow to very wide holes).

Unfortunately it does not work with my road bike, my partner’s hybrid, or our 20+ year-old hard tail mountain bikes, all of which do not have a hole through the centre of the crank to accommodate the stand.

I had been wanting one of these Scorpion stands for a while because I liked how compact it is and how it doesn’t require my bike frame to rest on anything and risk scratches, etc. I also liked how you could rotate the crank and do light maintenance, lubing of my chain, and so forth.

But when I received this stand I was surprised that it didn’t have any instructions on how to assemble it. It’s not rocket science and was easy to determine the correct black adapter to fit in my crank arms.

But there are also some little pins included that are supposed to go on one end but they are too long unless you bend them over. It doesn’t really seem like you should have to bend these little clips but that’s the only way they fit or are of any use.

And also if you run flat pedals there is not enough clearance to spin the cranks around without the pedals hitting the stand. So you’ll have to rig a little spacer to make it work well with flat pedals.

All in all after making my modifications and adjustments the stand works well and is stable but it seems like it should work better out of the box.

Well I never knew indoor training can be this much fun, although going out in fresh air is a dream for all the cyclists, but with Elite Novo Force, all I wanted to evaluate was my ability to stay indoor and ride.

And to be honest, I’m pretty happy with the product so far, using it with power sensor (Misuro B+) to make the trainer smart and for heart rate monitor, I’m using my OP watch. Comes with one month free-trial of My eTraining app, after one month it’s 20 odd pounds (but really worth it) and I have exhausted my Zwift 1 week free trial also (or 21km) – $14pm for then on, but decided to continue with Elite’s app for now.

You can create your own own routes or download live videos, to ride on those roads. Elevator Gel Block is must I’d suggest – go for one (riser block) if you’re buying any trainer, helps in keeping you bike stable and gives you the real balance as if you’re riding on actual roads.

The magnetic resistance works like charm, currently running on with Road Tires on, as all the trainer tires are out of stock. You’ll lose somewhat of your tire compound initially fairly quickly, but after 15days or so it wont be as visible as in starting 15 days, if you’re riding with your roadies on.

As for magnetic resistance, the feel is actually good – the rolling resistance allows you to simulate different terrain and data collected is actually close enough to my actual timings on road circuits.

And the inertia will keep the tire rolling for a more meters even when you stop pedaling. Would like to highly recommend this product to someone who’s looking forward to buy an indoor trainer, but still not sure how it works or someone who’s still a beginner and indoor training is something new to you.

Get a Misuro B+ smart sensor with it if you want to make the most of this trainer. As for Cyclop, I would highly rate my shopping experience, even in complete lockdown I was able to receive my shipment within 2-3 days securely packed in, that’s some commitment.

I looked at stationary bikes and smart trainers, but in the end I just wanted a unit to get through the Canadian winter. The unit is sturdy. I had a mag trainer back in the 90s, and the tubes are bigger on this one.

There are watt/speed curves on the web, so you can calculate the watts. There are a couple of minor points. The notch in the axle clamp could be a bit larger to fit the QR clamp, though there has been no slippage.

The clamp for the resistance dial is for a 7/8 handlebar, but one without tape or cables. I removed the pads inside the clamp and got it mounted ok.

After six months of use, using 100+ hours so far, this has held up very nicely with no visible wear or damage at all. It feels very solid, and there is no fear the bike will tip over while using it. You can bike with your eyes closed in complete confidence, stand on the pedals, lean on handlebars, etc.

Noise is medium I would say. Not quiet but what can you really expect? I had to move the kit to our entrance mudroom (behind a closed door) so not to keep the kids awake in the evening. With this setup it’s fine.

One note, you have to be careful not to damage the resistance knob because it’s on the end of a long stiff cable which cannot be detached. Seems very solid overall but you have to be careful when moving the unit as this cable seems like it could break or pop out if mishandled given this long, stiff cable which connects into the base and knob on the handlebars.

However this isn’t a big problem for me as I leave the unit in onen place and haven’t been taking my bike on and off. I like the sticky texture of the roller, which sticks very well on a training tire.

It has never slipped on me, even when putting in strong effort or standing on the pedals. I don’t use bluetooth connectivity here (there is a seperate sensor you can buy called a Misuro B for another $114) but instead just use it as a manual trainer.

This is made of solid metal and ski-boot like solid plastic, seems very good especially given the price. Would definitely reccomend.

The Medium bag fits my bike perfectly; took only minutes to install; and doesn’t interfere with my knees while riding. It doesn’t sway while riding either. Since it is 9″ long, it will easily hold an extra tube and small initially frame mounted pump and various tools.

My only complaint, andit is minor, is that the Velcro straps for the top mount could be ~1″ longer. A third one wouldn’t hurt either.

I have a couple of these installed in e-bikes holding a 48V 20AH triangle lithium battery plus controller. After a couple of hundred miles riding through bumpy Oakland streets at up to 28 MPH, I can vouch that these are the right bags for this application.

The three top Velcro suspension straps coupled with the single lateral retention one keep battery safely in place during severe bumps. I have even poked many holes in the bag to route control and power cable.

Rip-stop construction makes it sturdy and durable despite these multiple holes. Great product. You could even use to safely carry 15 pounds of books, laptops and tablets.

This bike is very rideable, affordable, light, feels like a regular bike and the motor is intuitive. The geometry feels slow and very upright. It was shipped to me with some damage to paint and components.

More details: I really like my new bike, a commuter 1. The common ebikes that are 8-13k dollars and 200 lbs were not a good fit. This one is A real bike with a motor! I rode it 20 miles the first day on trips I would have otherwise driven, and my partner is a little jealous of it! It looks good, is easy to move around like a slightly heavy bike.

I feel calling the bike I received a commuter style is a misnomer. The geometry is very short from handlebars to seat, so it’s a very upright bike that will be too short for many people from seat to pedals.

I’m a small person and it’s too short for me even with the handlebars moved out as far as possible. It’s closer to a cruiser style than I would have liked. That makes it hard to climb moderate to steep hills without the motor, since it’s harder to engage your quads like a faster bike.

And that’s noticeable on a level straightaway too, when trying to go a little faster. While unpacking, I found several spots of damage to the paint, deep scratches in metal parts, and the little tool bag came completely shredded out of the box, not holding any of the tools.

Also the bolts for the rack were not included, and I had to steal them from something else. Probably because of the adjustable handlebars, the cables are suuuper long and hang way out. Maybe eight to ten inches over the normal loose cable length for my size.

It’s hard to imagine a large enough person riding this bike for the length of cable they installed. Probably because of the battery, there’s no bolts for a water bottle cage. The seat is hard foam, pretty comfortable but not as nice as the seats in the marketing photos.

The handlebars have foam that looks like leather and they’re not as nice looking close up or totally comfortable, but fine. All that said, I will make it work. I wish they would give a longer trial period, since you can’t try it out for fit and get it dialed in in that time frame, even if you’re riding it a bunch.

I feel like I should have gotten the road bike, but this one has more features I wanted, and I didn’t want to wait till December for the new model. The index shifter and other components came perfectly dialed in, but the lowest gear isn’t low enough to actually climb moderate hills without the motor, especially with the very upright posture.

The five motor levels are well spaced and it’s cool how it responds to the pedal. It would be good to have more of all of these technical specs available on the website. It’ll be an awesome tool to get me biking again safely during recovery from a spinal injury.

Replaced the original protector used on the chain stay of my road bike. For a 56 size frame I had to add the extension that came on the pack. It was easy to apply for a perfect fit. The only improvement I would add is to eliminate the cutouts because the chain might still slap in unprotected areas chipping the paint off.

So far after more than 1,000 miles the protector looks like new.

I have high confidence that this will protect my frame from any rocks that get flung at it. I have it on the back of my seatpost and love never worrying about my paint. It’s very thick. Thicker than a quarter ($0.

25) for sure. I also wash my bike relatively frequently and it’s showing no signs of coming off after 2 seasons.

The fat bike market is really tough if you want a bike this year. If you have the ability to build, this is a fantastic option. The shipping took a bit of time but in the end less than I expected. The fit and finish of the frame is excellent (as good as any production bike) and everything fit up well and without issue.

I was pleasantly surprised to get stem plug and cap with the fork order. Perry communicated frequently and responsively making it all go smoothly.

Delivery was very slow. No doubt the whole mess that bicycle manufacturing has become this last year is to blame. ICAN always answered my questions the same day or the next. Now, how do I like the bike? It has been great.

Not just for the price. I was able to build up a fully carbon bike for about what I would have paid one of the big brands for an aluminum bike. Just be ready for the delays because they are hitting everyone.

These did not fit well for my Trek Road bike (maybe it’s not meant for oversized tubes)? I managed to use about half the pieces to cover my downtube, but the thing strips and rectangular piece didn’t seem to naturally cover any useful parts of the bike (for example they definitely don’t cover any fraction of the fork).

I also couldn’t find any diagrams or drawings of how you’re supposed to install these extra pieces online, and the videos on the company website didn’t really shed any light. Another gripe is that the chevron shapes have a progressively decreasing sizes, so if you use all of them to cover the downtube (which I needed), the ones at the ends don’t fully cover the sides.

The quality of the plastic seemed good, and the clear(ish) ones let the frame color show through and are not too visible. Overall I wouldn’t buy these again though because of the size issues.

All Mountain Style Frame Guard was super easy to use! I watched a couple of You Tube videos to figure out placement. I looked for the areas on my bike that were starting to show wear. The product covered them nicely to protect my bike from further damage! Its easy to peel up and adjust if you don’t get it right the first try! I wish I had used the product when my bike was new! Best part was it added a pop of color to my black and gray bike all while protecting my paint! I would highly recommend this product! Super easy to use and effective.

We did a tremendous amount of research before the purchase. We were looking for a full-size street commuter bike for my wife with a frame for her height (5’4″), that was a step-through style with a comfortable seat but could still had “class three” performance.

This bike met all of the criteria and then some. We are both over 70 years of age and use our bikes as a form of exercise and usually ride about 60 miles a week. I like to average about 15 miles per hour on the rides but it was becoming difficult for my wife to keep up.

But now with her new e-bike, she has no problem. In fact, I have a hard time keeping up with her even though she only keeps the bike in the lowest level pedal assist (1) but gear 8. The bike has a very comfortable seat which is unheard of on new bikes today and usually the first thing we have to replace.

You can change the bike’s performance level through the bike computer to a level 3. Even though the bike’s top speed is stated to be 28 mph, I have had the bike at 32mph on a level street. The riding range is stated to be 25-40 miles but we find it to be much greater.

We don’t know the real range but after 40 miles both the computer and battery show over 75% of the battery left. Also, the bike is incredibly light (49 lbs) and about 13 pounds lighter than most full-sized e-bikes this style.

Why is this important? Because I did not have to replace the bike rack I already had (hitch mount rated 120 lbs) with an expensive platform rack that wouldn’t fit in my garage. Since the bike is a step-through I use a Yakima bike adapter for mounting but also a heavy-duty 36″ x 2″ nylon cinch strap around the bike mount and bike frame to secure the bike (picture).

We have driven hundreds of miles with the bikes and they ride perfectly without movement. The bike’s brakes (full pneumatic and disk) are excellent. The bike’s computer face is large and easy to read (even in full sun) and adjust.

However, even with the correct tire size the odometer/speedometer is not quite as accurate as what is on my bike which I have had calibrated so I put one on my wife’s e-bike. But the e-bike was a great value and she loves it.

This is the first e-bike I’ve bought and/or ridden. I did lots of research and I don’t think you can beat the value of an Aventon e-bike. Overall, the bike is very good, I am happy I bought it, and I highly recommend it.

I ride it way more than my old, non e-bike, it’s pretty comfortable, the power is good, the integrated lights are awesome, the battery being seamless looks great, and there are mounting points for accessories (fenders, racks, etc.

) all around it. With that said, there are some issues I have with this bike. I am not sure if these problems are inherent to Aventon e-bikes or all e-bikes, and It might be nit-picking, but I feel they are worth noting.

First is the pedal assist: If you have it on, and are currently going faster than the assist level (say, assist level 1 and you are going 14mph under your own power), the moment you stop pedaling, wait a second (still above the assist level mph), and move the pedal forward even a bit, the motor comes on hard and the bike surges forward for a moment.

This is repeatable, happens in all assist levels, and is rather jarring to experience. I believe the motor should never come on unless you are at or below the assist level – never above it. Second is the throttle sensitivity: The first 1/4 of the range seems useless; there is basically no motor input at all, but the middle of the range seems overly sensitive.

When riding over a standard bumpy road or path, your speed constantly changes if you are trying to stay at a steady speed that is under the max of 20mph. Last would be the angle of the handlebars: This is probably dependent on your frame/height, but for me, my wrists are not at a neutral angle when I am gripping the handlebars.

This leads to some discomfort on longer rides that my old bike (with flat handlebars) did not have.

I want to give my Aventon Level a fair review being objective as best as possible. From a consumer point of view where I want to get the most I can for my money I think overall the bike was a ok/good purchase but not great or excellent 4&5 stars.

The best thing I like about the bike is the frame, good finish, paint and welds, nice rear rack. For the price consider the things you are not getting, torque sensor, rear suspension, built in lights and medium quality for other components.

With over 250+ miles on the bike and my first flat tire there were many components on the bike that were not great for my taste. I did not like the quality of the handgrips, handle bar, lack of adjustability with the stem, the tires are not great, flat uncomfortable seat, the fenders and rear rack seem like they just have black primer on them.

The brakes are very good and grippy but very loud, to the point you might be ashamed at breaking around people! I have not checked but they feel like a sintered pad. Under heavy front wheel breaking I feel some play in the headset which is not good.

Now I think you are going to have to spend money on any bike to make it fit you and your situation, make it practical for you to use but I think there were too many items on my list and I wished I got better components overall for what I paid.

I am always on assist level 5 pedaling trying to go 24mph+ and I feel the drivetrain is not matched very well with the possible top end speeds. At high speeds on the tallest gear I’m pedaling at very high rpms without adding much to the forward progress.

The M5 backlit lcd display is not great for me, it does this weird thing were it predicts how much battery you will have in the future under current conditions. I wished it just reported actual battery charge at that moment.

My round trip to work is about 12 miles. On the way there the display usually reports no drain at all on the battery. On the way back the battery charge goes up and down sometimes down to two notches.

When I finally stop getting home and stop it goes back up to about half way. I just ignore it now so its not very useful. All of instructions also said to download the app! And then its like Oh to bad you did not pay more for the color display, no app phone connectivity for you.

You could buy a decent used motorcycle for this kind of money, or an EScooter or a different EBike with twice the battery and range. With all of that in mind now that my wife is looking for an EBike I’m pretty sure its not going to be an Aventon sorry to say.

I can get more for the money somewhere else.

As a previous road and mountain bike racer in my younger days, I retrofitting my Soltera 7 slightly. I switched out the stock bars for a straight bar in part because it gives the bike more stability, added 700 x 40 trail tires as I live on a dirt road and the bikes paths near me are all dirt, threw on my SPD peddles and got rid of the kickstand.

Yesterday, I rode up Chuchara Pass (with battery to spare) in Southern Colorado which was something I could not have done prior to the Soltera 7. I try to only use the assist when I really need it and the weight of the bike is such that I can ride it without assist a lot of the time, but just knowing it is there allows me to increase my distance on rides where before my body would have made that determination.

One important factor in my choosing this electric bike was the weight; I had to be able to lift it ( I am 5’1) in and out of my car as I don’t have a rack yet. I can do that with the Soltera 7. It doesn’t weigh that much more than my Juliana dual suspension mountain bike I recently sold this year.

And as someone who purchased an electric car last year, the absolute fun of this bike reminds me of those feelings I had when I first drove my EV…. laughter and joy out on the road and feeling like a kid again! I do also have solar panels so I can charge the EV and the Soltera and feel pretty darn great that it is powered from start to finish with clean energy (mine and the sun!).

The world is a tough place these days and finding joy can sometimes be difficult, but the Soltera 7 has brought many moments of joy and for that I am grateful. It is a little slow to kick in once you request the assist and some front suspension would be nice (which would make it heavier and more expensive ), the brakes are quite squeaky which is kind of annoying but can be taken care of, but life is about tradeoffs and there are not many things this bike asks you to look past.

It is strangely funny that I have returned to the hardtail bikes of the early 90’s, but I am okay with that; what I get in return is worth some moments of numbing hands! I do love this bike and it has brought me a lot of joy.

It reminds me of the strength I had as a racer in my 20’s and that is priceless!.

I purchased this bike to flatten some hills on my commute and boost my energy for after-work trips/shopping, and this bike has fit the bill perfectly. I wanted a bike, not a glorified motorcycle, so I was willing to trade some power and range for a lower weight and sleeker design.

However, in my experience thus far, the Soltera is still more than powerful enough for most reasonable trips and light hauling. This was my first e-bike purchase, so if I were to do my search over again there are some things I would look at differently, but it is hard to seriously complain given the value you get for this bike.

1. Accessories: The bike has a built-in bell, which is neat. It was easy to install a rear rack and rear fender, but I was not able to fit the front fender that I bought, because the brakes get in the way and the front wheel sits very close to the fork.

I’m sure I can figure out a work-around one of these days, but it would be great if Aventon could produce some custom-fit fenders for the bike, as the higher speeds/heavier bike fling up way more muck than a traditional bike.

Also, the rear lights are not visible with panniers on. Integrating them into some stock fenders could hit two birds with one stone. 2. Suspension: My old, manual bike does not have suspension, so I wasn’t too concerned about getting suspension on my e-bike.

However, the higher speeds/heavier bike makes bumps and potholes a lot more punishing than on a traditional bike. If you are forced to ride on very bad roads, then I would consider a model that has suspension.

But, my experience has smoothed out after learning to ride more carefully. 3. Throttle: The Soltera’s throttle only provides power up to the limit of the current PAS level. On the one hand, it makes plain sense that you would want to be able to set a speed limit on the throttle.

However, this design means that you cannot use the throttle while the bike is in manual mode, or for an additional boost while at a low PAS setting. Instead, you must quickly crank up the PAS and then throttle, which is not as elegant as it could be.

Constructive criticism aside, I really love my Soltera 7, and ditto what other positive reviews are saying. I highly recommend it to others looking for a city e-bike.

This review is based on observations from riding my Soltera 7 about 200 miles in the 3 weeks I’ve had it. The Soltera 7 provides what I was looking for in an ebike – it’s relatively lightweight, enabling me ride most of the time without any assist.

The riding position is comfortable – somewhat aggressive rather than totally upright. I’ve been riding bikes for over 40 years for transportation, fitness, and touring. At 81 years old, my riding stamina is certainly not what it once was; the Soltera 7 with it’s electric assist enables rides to be both a workout and enjoyable.

When hills, headwinds, and high temperatures lower the “fun factor,” a bit of assist puts the fun back into riding. It’s my “Time Machine,” letting me ride like I did 25 years ago. Positive features: • Easy and comfortable to ride without any assist.

When assist is used, the bike is like a rocket! • The 7-speed gearing range works well for flat terrain and moderate hills without any assist. • The Selle Royal saddle is very comfortable. This is the only bike I’ve ever purchased that had a saddle comfortable for me.

• The Soltera will accommodate wider tires, if desired. Not-so-positive features (which were simple to overcome): • The handlebar grips are uncomfortably hard. I replaced them with softer grips. (The stock grips have a metal collar tightened with a screw; loosening the screw lets the grips slide off.

) • The fixed stem did not enable the handlebar to be raised to a height comfortable for me, so I replaced the stem with an adjustable stem. If the Soltera came with an adjustable stem, like the Aventon Pace 500 Next-Gen does, handlebar height could be adjusted.

• The tubes’ pesta valves do not have removable cores, which enables tube sealant to be easily added. I live in Arizona, where virtually every plant has thorns, making sealant is very useful. I found a youtube video that shows how sealant can be added to a non-removable core presta valve with a syringe, however, providing removable core valves would make adding sealant easier.

I am very happy with my Soltera 7. My wife, who rides less and slower than I, purchased a Soltera 7 at the same time as I. Now we can ride together at the same speed, at efforts that are pleasant for both of us.

A good bike for the price – it has a powerful motor and appears to be well-manufactured, but time will tell over the next years. A few items to consider before purchasing the bike: it is very heavy, and there are two weights out there – the heavier one (~75 pounds) is the actual weight with the battery.

Thus, you still get the bike on a trailer-hitch solid carrier, but it requires precise force if you do it yourself. Then, more importantly, if you live in a mountainous area like we do (Park City, UT), you need to consider that the 200 mm breaks are relatively weka when you go downhill – due to the weight of the bike itself, you easily accelerate to 40+ miles, and because the bike is so heavy and solid, you do not really feel it (it is more like a lightweight motorcycle).

But if you have to break on a steeper decline, you better be prepared – you simple have to be aware of it and go slow enough (and not let the fun of speed overwhelm you). It it ok but you have to be aware of it.

Then, even though many Youtube videos might suggest this is also a great bike for light trails – yes if it is a gravel road but nothing more. The hard tail is heavy and you get every bump right into your back (despite the rather comfortable seat); the fork is overwhelmed very quickly – this bike is a great cruiser on pavement and gravel, but don’t take it onto the single tracks.

Finally, the 45 miles at level 1 might be possible on even terrain and no wind, but since the bike is so heavy, we get a maximum of maybe 25 miles out of it – but this is mostly at level three and with a heavy incline on the way back home (which is a steep downhill at the beginning).

Still better then driving the car, we bought this for grocery commutes and to run errands within the mileage stated above. I could see this bicycle performing very well in a flat city – our electric car also suffers from the mountain roads regarding the promised milage per charge.

All in all a good choice for what we use it – and time will tell how early it will be to get spare parts etc. If you purchase it – enjoy it, it comes with a lot of fun :-).

This is my first ebike so I really only have standard bikes to compare it to but overall I am disappointed. First of all the assembly process is really tough due to the weight and various hardware used.

The bike comes with an Allen wrench tool but it is extremely flimsy and only fits half the screws. Luckily I had the tools already to get it assembled. After that I went for my first ride and realized all the quality issues; rattles, brake pad dragging, metal torquing sounds when turning.

I’m 6’1” 195 lbs but this bike seems to be under a lot of stress making the ride a very nervous experience. I finally decided to take it to a bike shop to have it tuned which was really tough due to the crazy heavy weight.

The shop told me the components (shifting, gears, brakes) were cheap, low quality, and not very well aligned for the frame. He did the best he could, and it is better but there’s still occasional brake dragging, gear issues, and the strange metal strain I mentioned.

It makes riding the bike at speed a very nervous experience, like it’s going to break at any second; something I never feel on my other bikes, even the ones that cost 1/3 of the Aventon. I really wish they would have used the Shimano components shown in all the pictures and videos.

With all the quality issues I would say the bike should cost about $700, not the nearly $2k I spent. In summary, it looks like a really cool bike with great styling but I regret buying it and wish I would have spent the money on another more dependable brand.

I’ll most likely sell the bike (at a steep discount) to someone who wants to replace all the cheap components (fork, shifter, gears, pedals, brakes) and hopefully make it into a decent bike.

The bicycle Rides wonderfully. The electronics, the app, and the display are top notch. With that said, there are some components that need changed, and sensors need tweaked. The suspension fork is absolute rubbish.

So heavy, so jerky, not very smooth. Any adult weighing more than 150lbs uses almost 3/4 of the suspension travel just sitting on the bike. Upgrade or go to a fixed fork and save weight and gain agility and stability.

At certain speeds, the cadence sensor and mph speed sensor delay or prevent motor kicking in due to the programmed parameters. The five power levels each have five different engagement and cut off speeds, so you won’t be maintaining top speed at power level two, nor will you be taking off at power level five.

It just takes getting used to using the power levels, gears, and speed all together. A torque sensor will eliminate all this and as of now, the new LEVEL has one so the AVENTURE won’t be far behind. The hub motor is so heavy.

Most bicycle trailer hitch carry racks won’t accommodate the 80lb bicycle. You can remove the battery, but if it rains while transporting, water will get in the frame and battery dock. Lastly, when the battery runs out of juice, it is a beast to pedal.

My knees reminded me why I got the electric bike in the first place, and to never ever run out of juice again. These are all nitpicks and a learning curve to ownership. At the price point and capability of this bicycle, I would not think twice about purchasing it again.

Long, Low, Slack; all words used to describe the best characteristics of modern trail bikes. The Stumpjumper Evo was the first trail bike to offer these characteristics and this newest iteration is ever more progressive than the last.

The slack headtube angle (with tons of adjustment) ensures a stable ride through the roughest of trails. I am 5’10” and ride a size S4. This is the perfect size for the riding I do and the trails in and around Park City.

That said, if I were riding tight, twisty trails I would consider sizing down to the S3. As with all Specialized bikes, the attention to detail is industry leading. The internal cable routing is the easiest I have ever used and the finish on the frame is top notch.

Register your frame within 90 days and you have the piece of mind that it’s covered with a lifetime warranty. If you’re looking for a trail bike with a bit of an attitude look no further. The Stumpy Evo is the bike you’ve been looking for.

If you asked me 10 years ago to write a review on a 2012 Specialized Stumpjumper, I would have said it’s a great trail bike for those that keep the rubber planted on the ground and stay in fashion with Lycra shorts at the trail head.

I purchased the Quiet Kat Warrior 1000w in the Charcoal color from the Cabelas in Lacey, WA. These bikes were designed for traveling to hunting areas, carrying deer and various game on a trailer sold separately.

However, it serves as a great trail bike on paved and unimproved services. I enjoyed speaking with Laura, a Cabelas sales rep. The ebike was fully assembled at the store and the Cabelas staff in Lacey were great helping me load it.

When I arrived home, The throttle controls were easy to learn. I inflated the 26″ fat tires to approximately 27 psi (The max is 30 psi) and took my Warrior for a test ride. This bike will move! My top speed was 29 mph.

The display says the top speed is 32 mph, but rider’s weight, road conditons, and other factors would affect speed. The medium frame was the best option for me. I am 5’10” with a heavy build. I would recommend this ebike to anyone looking for a durable and powerful workhorse to take off the beaten path in the mountains or taking a Sunday afternoon ride on your favorite trail.

Power modes are 1 to 5. The battery will drain fast on level 5. I think level 3 is ideal for a steady ride and preserving battery life. Level 5 brings this beast to life. It is hard to avoid if you love speed.

I don’t want to be that guy that leaves a negative review, but i think that if you are a larger rider considering one of these bikes you should read this before purchasing. I’m going to save you the hassle.

I hope someone reads this review from Quietkat and actually does something to change the way these problems are handled. Ive made calls and emails and no one responded. Too busy selling bikes. These are expensive bikes.

probably the most expensive ones on the market. Everyone’s experiences are different, some people may have had not had any issues, mine has been negative/expensive experience all around. I am an avid outdoor person.

I ride mountain bike trails in Indiana every day. They are bunny slopes in comparison to where these bikes are tested in Eagle Colorado. I am a larger rider at 6’8′ 320lbs. I decided that i wanted to add a e-bike to my garage to use on upcoming hunts out west going farther on my mountain biking adventures.

I researched each model made phone calls to the competitors of Quietkat. Rungu and Backou said none of the bikes would work for me and recommended i go to Quitkat due to my size. I called and told the Quietkat salesperson what i was looking for and my size and without hesitation he said Apex 10 is what i needed.

I ordered everything. Vehicle charger, bigger battery, bags, trailer, mounts everything. (Still haven’t gotten all of my order and i purchased in April 2022 and it is now middle of September still no response).

I ordered the Apex 10. Felt like i get a great deal they give me a discount. I get the bike home the next week. Arrives packaged perfectly no damage no issues. Super easy to put together. First ride I am impressed.

Front shocks are very smooth. Brakes work great. Climbs hills with ease. Seat completely fails. No worries most riders are more than 100lbs less than I am i expected to have to replace. I replace with upgraded seat, grips, and dropper post.

I ride it a couple times a week to figure out what it can and cant do. I’m interested in buying a second one because i absolutely love riding this thing. 50 miles into trail riding this bike the rear hub completely fail under normal riding conditions to boot.

I put a ticket in online. I call and they promptly set me up with a replacement wheel. Warranty people are very polite helpful on phone. Wheel arrives two weeks later to a local bike shop that is an approved Quietkat repair facility.

This is where it all goes downhill. The Wheel is completely wrong 2″ smaller than what i needed. I called Quietkat back said they would package up a new wheel and send me the correct one. Two days go by no update on shipment.

Two weeks later the bike shop gets the correct wheel. I ride the new wheel for two weeks, and the front fork begins to travel in the wrong directions completely failing internally, the front wheel hub begins popping.

Take to the bike shop again. I call quietkat yes we have had problems with several of these forks we will get you a new one. Nothing moves again. I call they say they will call me back, no return calls.

Warranty person i deal with goes on vacation. one week turns into two, two into three. I send emails to the sales person i bought bike through no response, warranty person i have been dealing with no response.

I had a warranty person mock me on phone completely unprofessional at week 2. At this point i am fed up that i spent 8k for a bike that i have had to completely rebuild and after 3 weeks they send me a fork for a different bike (not the same one that’s on it) and the correct wheel.

Fork Travel is different from the original bike. The response i got was we build 25 bikes per day and don’t have time to source parts. It wasn’t until i threatened to take them to small claims court for this lemon that i actually got a call back on the third week.

They overnighted that time. Again i get a different fork that what came with the bike but they get the front wheel right this time. There is a lot of good things about the bike, It has a sturdy frame, brakes work great, battery has great life, plenty of power from the mid drive motor.

Screen and controls work great. Internal wiring looks sturdy. Its all completely worthless if the drive train wont hold together. To me this should be the foundation of their bike as much as the frame.

None of the parts cross reference with anything in the bicycle industry for the wheels/fork so you cant repair these parts you have to order from quietkat. If you break this bike, you have to get parts in time for a trip, forget about taking that bike you wont get parts in time.

Parts takes week(s) if your lucky to get the right parts on time. My APEX 10 has spent all summer in the bike shop i have less than 150 miles of riding on it. Great investment to have to rebuild the entire drive-train.

Next problem im sure to have is the cassette or chain/ring so im sure ill have more BS to deal with im positive. To hopefully salvage this bike and actually be able to use it without falling apart every 5 min.

I made the decision to replace the factory wheels, hubs, and forks to versions that i can readily get parts for and service that are e bike rated and more robust for what i want to do with it. Just ride it.

I still don’t have it back. Sure it will void warranty. Their warranty is completely useless in my opinion because they cant send you the correct parts to fix your problem. Ive dealt with this all summer.

I don’t have any more energy to deal with Quietkat and this bike. Drag it out long enough like they do your warranty will expire before they get your problem fixed. Although their media, sales is top notch pictures are great.

All the pros on TV that has one say they are revolutionary technology. Quietkat service/warranty doesn’t know what parts go to what bike, and forget about getting anything quickly. I’m disappointed that i spent 8k on a bike that they said would hold up under my size and has completely failed.

Spend 8k on a bike an you get treated like you bought a huffy. Warranty/sales people tell you only what you want to hear. If you buy one based on my experience you can know what your getting. Buy a used one and take wheels fork, seat, bars off of it immediately because they aren’t gonna last you when you go out west.

Had issue with rear dropouts, they would not accept a standard bicycle wheel axle. I measured with Vernier callipers and they were nearly 0. 5mm too small to suit standard axle. Had to file the dropouts to allow the axle to fit.

No evidence the frame was dropped, plus there’s more steel in these dropouts than the Sydney Harbour Bridge, so can’t see how they could get bent or crushed. Strange as a Coleague has purchased two of these frames without an issue.

Climbed around 16,000 vertical feet over 100 miles so far and the only thing that happened is a flat tire from a really unlucky placed stick in the trail. Fixed it with a patch and new tube it has been okay since.

I bought a suspension seat post for it and have since abused the heck out of it on the roughest rocky mtns terrain. Zero complaints or issues with anything. Gets you about 12 miles up 2500ft comfortably and back down to the trailhead.

Don’t expect much more than that. It’s a beast though and durable.

Good price on this bike and the bike is awesome. I read a lot of reviews on ebikes and shopped for quite awhile. I decided on this bike because of the 1000 watt motor and the 21amp hour battery. Plenty of power and range.

I decided to buy it from sportsman’s guide because it was the best price I could find. Shipping was pretty quick also. I’ve taken the bike out on 3 occasions and it has handled the hills and roads with ease.

You won’t be disappointed.

Having owned a Yamaha powered PW motor on a Haibike all mountain 6. 5, I can judge a bit better. The Reign E+2 is a nice bike but the power seems to be hard to obtain, if it is in auto mode, althoug it’s nice, it lacks the smoothness, as it feels as a roller coaster.

it is felt in any grade that isn’t totally even, just as in any trail where you’ll ride your Reign mountain bike. The problem is that there’s no time delay going from higher to lower power and every bump is felt as the pedal gets harder when it changes to the lower power level and then softer again when you have passed the bump and so on.

It’s a very uncomfortable feeling it’s just like a roller coaster. I don’t think I’ll will ever get used to it. Unlike my previous bike, the PWx3 feel like the extra torque was obtained via larger gears in the rear casete so I feel I have to pedal more, and harder to obtain the power I need.

I think that by adding a programmable 2-5 second delay going from high to lower power it would prevent the roller coaster feeling, hardening of the pedals as it would keep it in the climbing power while riding over the bumps.

In regards to the lack of display it’s a disappointment as you have no idea what your battery level is and as it is shown in increments of 20% so if it shows 2 bars you have no idea if it is 21% or 40.

% the gap is true between any two bars, and since it lacks a distance display you may have no idea how far you have traveled. You may ask what about the app? Yes, the app only works if you have cell connection which it isn’t likely if you ride in the mountains.

Giant could have added a $200. 00 display to read battery power and distance travel I would have paid it. I mean I paid over $7000. 00 with the extra battery and mount just for the fun of riding further in the mountains.

I have 1,200 miles on my Giant Revolt e+ pro bike and I’m really glad I bought it. No matter if you are riding slow up a mountain, slow city riding, or riding single track this bike pedals naturally.

The pedaling motion is so smooth you forget you are on a e bike and think you are always on a slight downhill or have the wind at your back. It handles fantastic. It doesn’t steer as fast as a racing bike or as dead as a touring bike.

That and the multiple hand positions of drop handlebars make it a good bike to ride 70 miles day after day. I should know I have ridden other bikes across the country 3 ½ times and have done over 40 week long rides.

I would give it five stars except the only rack you can buy for it is so heavy it must be designed for some industrial application. Also, the bike absolutely needs a 50 tooth cassette as the bike’s low gear is higher than some of the new Giant road bikes with compact double cranksets.

One last thing is that unless they have changed it, the Di2 rear derailleur gets its power from the 500 Wh battery. I. E. if you try to ride the bike without it installed. it won’t shift. SO if you are riding RAGBRAI, GOBA, or Michigan’s Shoreline West the first thing you want to do at 3 PM is put up your tent & then charge your battery.

Battery charging needs to be completed by 9 PM because that’s when the campgrounds must turn off their portable generators. I was fortunate to buy one of the last Giant Revolt e+ bikes that didn’t have Di2 so I have the freedom to ride my bike Downtown, to a historical site, to a Lake Michigan beach, etc without the battery installed.

Have been riding the Stance for 10 months now, I love it. Car drops and lifts at Ski areas are a thing of the past. Why ride mediocre mountain bike park trails when you can ride single your favourite single track top to bottom or multiple times.

Going up trails with assist almost as fun as coming down. The amount of terrain I can ride now is obviously much larger and experience is better. I go places I wouldn’t usually have gone as I don’t have worrying about my legs not getting back.

I get about 4 hours of ride time with serious climbs etc. my average ride is 1. 5 to 2 hours and usually keep it fully charged as range anxiety is a bit of a thing if you go out with partial charge. It is a heavy bike if you have pedal it without assist.

Worrying about weight that I pack is thing of the past. I find riding with too much assist in single track is dangerous. Only usually use higher levels of assist on roads getting me to the trails. I am a 55 year old male with one ligament deficient knee, the ebike has revitalized by mountain biking.

After ten months I have replace the drivetrain and chain because it has that much mileage on it. There is also more torque on drivetrain with the assist which contributes. Took me years to do that on my Reign 2.

The bike so much fun to ride up and down. I plan on riding every last penny out this bike and will upgrade in few years.
