20 Best Foundations For Bridal Makeup (2023 Updated)

I wanna give it 3. 5 stars but i’d rather round it up to 4 than 3 since it is still a pretty good foundation. Almost fifty bucks good? Nah. But I got it on sale after eyeing it for years and I’d say its nice to have… aesthetically.

Its not the best foundation ever, and for a retail of $47 I thought it would be top notch. I swear i’ve gotten same results from ten dollar foundations, which is kind of disappointing for its price point.

I’m rating it high though bc it still does have pretty classy packaging, an amazing formula, and because of the huge shade range I was able to find my perfect shade and I feel like nothing else can come close.

I just wish it was more dewy, although it says sheer glow, it kind of leans matte on me? Not what I expected nor advertised. Its just something I might not particularly repurchase, but glad to have around and say I own it.

I’m sure it will last a long time since I’m only gonna use this sparingly for nice occasions.

This is a holy grail for me. I have been using this for years when I want to wear makeup. I use this with a kabuki brush and I’m quickly done applying my makeup base. Takes less than five minutes. All I do is apply a light weight moisturizer and this.

I really love MAC products, they are always reliable in my opinion. This also lasts a long time and is reasonably priced for the value. The coverage is whatever you want it to be, it’s so versatile. I apply a light layer and it looks very natural and matte.

Eventually it turns into a satin matte finish, it’s a powder foundation so it takes the form of your moisturizer underneath, that’s the beauty of this. It’s like a customizable foundation. I love powder foundation for that reason.

So if you wear a heavy moisturizer, this foundation will eventually be shiny. If you use a matte cream/oil-free and just a little, this works like a charm. You can choose how you want it to look. At the end of the day, you may have some shine but that comes with your skin type and environmental factors.

Just get a white or translucent blurring powder to touch up. I sometimes do this at the end of the day so I don’t have to apply more makeup. This also doesn’t break me out because it’s light weight and not caky.

The color selection is awesome too, there are so many options to pick from. This is a favorite of many people for a reason. it’s been around for so long because it truly works. What else? It also blurs the skin and looks clean.

Skin looks smoother and refined. It lasts all day for me, and does not transfer. If you need high coverage, you may not love this only because if you use a lot it could look caky, but for those who need light to medium coverage it works amazingly well.

One of these days I will try a new powder foundation but I keep going back to this because it just works! I also love the packaging. It’s mess-free and travel friendly.

I was actually very impressed by this foundation. Especially being as inexpensive as it is, and being sold at a drugstore. 4/5 stars only because I’m finding that with this brand specifically, no matter what product you use (concealer, foundation, color corrector, etc) the shades are very different than other brands.

I bought “fair” because from the outside it looked like it was close to my skin tone. I wanted to get the “porcelain” one, but I had previously bought and tried the porcelain concealer and it was a pinkish salmon color.

it didn’t really look like any real skin tone so I was afraid the foundation would come out the same. I have pretty light skin, with some pretty light freckles and my face has a lot of redness. I would describe my face as combination skin because it’s not always dry, but it’s never oily either.

Some days I feel like I need to put moisturizer on my forehead but that’s really it. Anyway, I’m not the best at applying make up and I’m not by any means an expert in really anything when it comes to makeup.

I’m still learning. First, I applied my LA Girl brand color correctors under my eyes because I have terrible bags and darkness. After blending that in, I applied this foundation with a beauty blender sponge.

I was really impressed at how well the product covered up the red color corrector, and didn’t mix. Meaning the red color corrector did not combine with the foundation as it was being applied, it very easily and smoothly completely covered that up.

I did put on some moisturizer prior to doing my makeup today on my whole face, and I waited about 10 minutes for it to soak in before applying. I use just regular Hempz body lotion as my facial moisturizer.

It’s light but it still moisturizes really well and smells amazing! I’m not sure if that was what made this foundation blend so easily and smoothly, but it took literally no time for me to achieve an even, smooth, medium coverage all over my face.

There were some areas on my cheeks that I ended up applying a very light second layer, just because of the redness I have. The second layer didn’t cause me to look like I had caked on makeup or anything which was awesome.

This is an illuminating foundation, which is another small reason I’m only giving 4/5 stars. I don’t mind a good illuminating foundation since my skin is not oily, I just prefer a matte finish. This can easily end up matte if you set it with a good setting powder, but even without the powder the finish isn’t over the top shiny.

It does take a while to dry though so I would recommend setting it regardless so that it doesn’t wipe off or transfer. When I bought this foundation I actually did not see that they make a matte version of the foundation which I literally just found out about today through this app so after work I’m going to head back to CVS and pick up the same color in matte and see how that works!.

I’m the type of person who likes a medium to full coverage foundation that won’t dry out my skin. I used to wear Estée Lauder double wear until I found this gem!!! I absolutely love it. I have dry skin and many brands don’t wear well throughout the day that aren’t drying.

I find this last from morning to night with very little change. I do prime with a hydrating primer and set with hydrating setting spray though.

This foundation comes in glass bottle with pump dispenser. The packaging is little similar to Makeup Forever HD foundation and is supposed dupe as well. The texture of this foundation is thin but not very runny and is quite similar to Wet n Wild Photo Focus foundation.

It has medium to full coverage but can be sheered out with wet beauty blender. There is light smell which people tend to hate but i found it is not that bad and if you don’t focus particularly on smell you can easily ignore it which will fade after application.

The formula is good enough to blend easily. With hands and sponge, the coverage can be sheer to medium but with flat brush or kabuki face brush you can layer it for full coverage. It has dewy finish but it is not moisturizing.

If you have dry skin, you still need proper moisturizing as it does settle in dry patches and lines. As the pigmentation of this foundation is very good, you need very little amount for whole face. It covers the imperfections to some extent which is similar to Wet n Wild Photo Focus but for complete coverage you will need concealer and it paired beautifully with L.

A. Girl Pro Conceal. The lasting power is quite good and it can last more then 5 hours if you are comfortable with dewy sheen. However for oily and combination skin, you will need to powder in between to avoid oily look.

The formula of this foundation is quite unique as it is illuminating but not moisturizing while it is stays on skin for very long, it can turn into oily patches. Depending on your skin, however you can make it work.

I had got this foundation along with Wet n Wild one but making it work with for different skin was little tricky. In summers, the combination and oily skin needs good primer plus setting powder on top and touch ups after every few hours.

I have reviewed L. A. Girls Pro smoothing primer and their setting spray which work with this foundation. For dry skin, you will need good moisturizing but it looks very good and refreshing on skin. It will not look cakey, if blend properly and once it is applied properly, the skin look really good.

The lasting powder is less then Wet n Wild but it is more suitable to dry skin. However in winters it will work great for all skin types. I have read that it oxidize on some skin but this was not case with me.

May be it is because of light shade and dark shades can oxidize more the lighter ones. If compared it to Milani Conceal 2 in 1 foundation, that is more long lasting, have more coverage and finish is very good, plus that works great for all skin type.

Overall, it is a good budget friendly foundation which you need to learn about how it will work for you. The texture is very good and easily blend able, have medium to full coverage, lasts pretty long and dewy finish give skin a glowy touch.

We loved using it in winters then summers.

I’m a big fan of Nars as a whole and I love their foundations so much, this is no exception! It is very runny coming from the bottle, but offers great coverage that feels very lightweight and breathable.

I use a dense brush with this foundation and can definitely get full coverage, I’d say closer to medium with a beauty blender. This is one foundation I prefer a brush over a sponge with! Once it’s buffed out it looks so beautiful and flawless on your skin.

I personally don’t see any luminosity with this one, it’s more of a natural matte/satin finish but I still love it. I could see many different skin types enjoying this one, it doesn’t emphasize my dry skin or texture but it would also wear well on oily skin and wouldn’t break down easily.

Keblackman I have never been so impressed by a Foundation before until I started using this. it is incredible. It is the most high-tech innovative formula that I have ever come across in a foundation.

I was initially drawn to it at the beginning mainly because it is Oil free, Fragrance free, Alcohol free but was blown away by everything else it actually does! I have noticed that it has a lot of mixed reviews and I am sure it is a lot to do with how it is applied to the skin.

I think people could be going wrong when applying this with a brush or a sponge? I know people really dislike using their hands to apply foundations, but Nars recommend fingers and one pump of the product, which I believe is without a doubt the best way to apply this.

If you watch the application of this by the actual Nars MUA on YouTube then you can see why. It is extremely high coverage and blends out effortlessly with your fingers and that’s why you could get away with just the one pump of the product! Also in Desi Perkins favourite foundation review she said she actually purchased this foundation by mistake as was after the Sheer Glow but thought she would use it anyway.

When she first used it she thought ‘whatever’ about it. She said she went back to it and for some reason, applied it with her fingers (which she never does) and she changed her whole opinion of it and said how impressed she was and how long it lasted in a hot climate and beautiful it looked on the skin.

I am incredibly oily and I just put a light dusting of powder over it to set it. I use blotting sheets on my skin throughout the day and it does not budge at all, no separation and I can easily go from day to night without touching up.

So impressed with this that I actually brought a second bottle (which I never ever do with foundations) and I got the lighter shade for winter as the Santa Fe shade was getting to be the wrong undertone for me this time of year so turned to the Fiji shade which is now perfect.

I think I would be daft to turn to anything else Now I have finally found the perfect foundation for me. I highly recommend!.

*** Product bought with my own money *** Application method : sponge. PROS : – thick liquid, like a soft mousse, but offers no resistance to spreading (during the few seconds before it dries), – medium coverage in one layer, – super powdery matte finish (this is a good point for me), – no tacky feeling, – super lighweight on the skin, CONS : – cakes immediately upon contact with some areas of my face (nose & undereyes area), – cakes everywhere even worse if you try to build it up, or simply when you blend two areas which creates demarcation lines, – pools and settles in every single pore and fine line (it looks like polka-dots on my nose) – flash drying, almost upon contact with skin, which makes it impossible to blend properly, – grabs onto, and highlights, the slightest flakiness of the skin, – under some angles, it has the strongest purplish white cast I’ve ever seen in outdoors lighting, – oxidizes and darkens (1 shade) as soon as it mixes with the skin natural fluids or setting spray, and darkens even further (2 to 3 shades) during the day, – transfers easily (so don’t count on it to be mask-friendly), – far from full coverage (not even in your dreams), – the new shades don’t match the old ones (only for the shades that already existed within the old range), even though the names are the same, – dries so fast that it clogs the pump from one day to the next (thus it spurts everywhere as soon as you press the pump), – smaller shade selection than the previous formula (weird).

COMMENTS : Seriously, did Maybelline even test this product before its launch ?? This is the ugliest foundation I’ve ever worn in my entire makeup life. I suspected it could be a nightmare as the formula is very close to NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop and L’Oréal Infallible Pro Matte foundations, both of which gave me horrendous results, but I saw a few tweaks in the ingredient list that made me hoping that the flaws of these two foundations formulas could be fixed.

well nope, I get exactly the same results with this one. While it can look pretty (from a distance, everything is ugly in my 8x magnifying mirror) ONLY on some areas of my face (like my cheeks and the sides of my forehead), it cakes immediately upon contact with my nose and my undereyes area, and pools and settles into every single pore and fine line (but once it’s there it stays there, unfortunately), looking like polka-dots on my nose and my forehead.

It flash dries upon contact with the skin making it impossible to blend. It dries so fast by itself that it clogs the pump from one day to another, I have to scratch what’s inside the pump otherwise, it spurts everywhere when I press the pump.

I tried numerous times to make it work, switching from a skin prep to another, trying various primers and moisturizers, mixing it with anything else, changing my application technique (dotting it on my face with my finger, or picking it up with my sponge), I always end up removing everything and doing my makeup once more with my beloved Essence Pretty Natural Hydrating Foundation (which looks perfect, even in my 8x magnifying mirror).

Under some angles, it has a super strong purplish white cast, which makes color matching pretty difficult as the shade may at first appear lighter than it really is. Then it oxidizes and darkens (1 shade) when it mixes with the skin natural fluids and darkens even further (2 to 3 shades) during the day, making it even harder to color match The shades have also changed : my shade is now much lighter to begin with, but darkens even darker than the previous formula (it turns pumpkin orange on my pale skin).

Now I give up, this foundation is trash (sorry, there’s no other word that matches it as well). In addition, the reviews on the new formula and the old formula are mixed together which skews the global rating.

This is a NEW PRODUCT, not only a packaging change, and it just launched a few months ago, in no way it could already have more than 3000 reviews, and the reviews should not be mixed !!! On Maybelline’s website, this product has more than 98% really bad reviews within 4 months saying the new 30H formula is cakey and dries too fast.

that says a lot !!!.

PROS: – This stuff STAYS ON. When I prime correctly (moisturizing primer to prevent oil production) this foundation sets and don’t budge an inch for hours and hours. I wore this in a snow storm for a wedding, getting pelted with icy snow, being bothered by my hair and my jacket’s hood, and the foundation was not fazed at all.

– It’s definitely full coverage. I color correct underneath and I never use concealer with this foundation: it just doesn’t need it. One thin layer of this is all you need. CONS: – Sets FAST. Not easy to blend for this reason.

You have to move VERY quickly. – Formula is full coverage, but also pretty thick, not runny at all. This makes is easy to accidentally cake on too much, which looks particularly bad with this foundation.

– Can be a bit chalky if too dry or caked on. I never set this with powder except for under my eyes. CONCLUSION: This is tricky to work with and can easily look bad, but when done right it’s serious full coverage and long wear for a good price.

I would recommend this as a cheap option for full coverage, long wear, formal occasion makeup, I don’t see this being an effortless everyday foundation.

I was gifted this Maybelline Super Stay Active Wear Foundation product in exchange for my honest review. This is a great foundation. Although it’s a little more liquidy in consistency, it applies very evenly, easily, and smooth.

It’s dispensed through a pump bottle thats conveniently mess-free and the 130 Buff Beige shade matches really well with my light olive complexion. I have combination skin type that leans a bit more on the oilier side, so the matte finish compliments my shiny skin immensely, especially the t-zone, without looking cakey, overly thick, or experiencing creasing/buildup in the usual areas.

It’s positively transfer resistant for the entire day, with buildable coverage, that maintains a nearly perfect “just applied” look for over 24 hours. I love that my foundation flawlessly dissipates every dark spot, blemish, and fine line that my skin attains but not just by layering itself over it, but somehow magically making it disappear, where I totally forget about it until I wash my face later that night.

I highly recommend Maybelline’s Super Stay Active Wear Foundation. It will not disappoint.

This was on sale in the clearance section at Walmart. Had to grab one because turns out my huda beauty foundation is a bit dark for my skin tone. I find myself mixing this and making the perfect tone for my skin.

This foundation gives a matte finish, sheer to full coverage, feels light, and blends amazing! I don’t use much of my huda foundation because they are both full coverage. I don’t like mixing the foundation on my hand or anywhere else.

I apply both on my face and blend them together and it works best for me. It was $3. 00 at Walmart and in the shade light. Since I’m not able to cruise because of Covid I lost my tan. However I would get this foundation in my shade! The dropper is not the best but in the pro version it looks way better.

I would love to try the pro drop foundation!.
