20 Best Foundation For Wrinkled Skin (2023 Updated)

So first off this stuff was lovely going on, and from afar I was giving off some matte princess jasmine vibes. When I looked upclose OMG this stuff was looking cakey and flakey. I applied this with a brush, and no prepping on skin besides morning mouisturizer under it.

This is more for people who DO NOT have dry skin issues, and for someone with minimal acne or bumps. It accentuated my pores and you could see wrinkles and creases that I wasn’t even aware I had. I also would like to note this is not the same shade range as double wear.

The 1W2 sand in this foundation is about 2 shades darker than double wear so you need to go in store to be matched, I foolishly didn’t think this would apply to me, but this shade will work when I have a summer tan.

Marketed as a full coverage, but to me it’s more medium. I really wanted to love this but I’ll give it another chance, make sure you clean your face good before application and I would say wear nothing under it except maybe a good primer.

Will try again but initially this is not good for my 30 year old skin.

I received a free sample of the Estée Lauder Futurist Hydra Rescue Moisturizing Makeup from SoPost. I tried it out mainly on my T-zone since the sample was so small, applying it with a foundation brush.

I initially loved the skin-like finish and medium coverage. I wore this foundation for 12 hours to really see how it performed. The first few hours were great, my face had a natural radiance to it and there was a subtle hydrated glow.

Around hour 5/6 though, it started to cake and separate around my nose. As the hours passed, the separation just kept getting worse, to the point where I would’ve been embarrassed to be out in public because it was so severe (thankfully I was at home).

I’m wondering if maybe applying this foundation with a beauty blender instead of a brush would’ve helped with that, but unfortunately I didn’t have another sample to test out that theory. Overall it seems like a good summer foundation for those with dry skin, but as for me and my combination skin, I’m not sure.

I might consider buying this to fully test it out on my entire face, but only if it goes on sale.

Day wear powder foundation is my go to make up for everyday wear and Pale Almond is my perfect shade but I do like a liquid foundation for when I am dressed up and going somewhere special. I’d tried EL liquid foundation before and was never happy with texture or colour so, I’ve used a lot of other brands from cheap to very expensive.

I was initially attracted by the 45SPF but disappointed it doesn’t come in Pale Almond so I bought 1 shade darker (Fresco) Thought I’d try it out for a shopping trip. Applied over Day Wear SPF15 that had been on about an hour (I always let my moisturiser absorb before applying make up) no primer and used brush.

Covered perfectly but was a little too shiny so, I swept over a light covering of translucent powder which did the trick. Blusher etc went easily over the top and didn’t need to re-apply all day. I caught sight of myself in my driving mirror a few times and thought wow! I’m nearly 60 and conscious of not wanting to look like a drag queen.

It took years off me, I looked fresh and youthful.

Holy wow. Here’s my honest review. When CT launched at Mecca, I had no idea who she was. I saw people fangirling everywhere, attended the online event, but felt a little oversold. I didn’t end up purchasing anything.

Fast forward to me walking into Mecca, heart set on trying the Westman Atelier foundation sticks after falling head over heels for the blush/contour sticks. They didn’t have WA and the AMAZING shop assistant, I think his name was Aaron (Mecca Garden City), spent several minutes helping me find a suitable foundation that I would love – even though they were close to closing.

I wanted something that matched my skin perfectly, that I didn’t necessarily have to apply all over. I’m prone to chin acne flareups but the rest of my skin is usually in great condition and I’m REALLY time poor.

After trying a few other brands, he suggested CT and I begrudgingly accepted trying it. And he swept it onto my cheek and it basically disappeared into my skin and airbrushed it. I literally couldn’t tell I was wearing it.

I happily bought it there and then. He also gave me some great tips for applying it so allow me to share and fangirl over this. I use the Hourglass Vanish Foundation brush and I spray it with MAC fix it + prime spray.

I shake the foundation WELL, and put a squirt on the back of my hand. I stipple brush it over my face – NOT swipe. It blends SEAMLESSLY. I can hardly tell I’m wearing it. I also have super oily skin, so I purchased the Urban Decay setting powder (I liked it more in store than the CT equivalent).

Whether the powder, foundation, or happy combination of both: my foundation does NOT budge. I don’t have an issue with oil through the day, and the foundation retains its dewy glow for me. It’s my skin, but perfect, and I LOVE it.

SO happy I walked into Mecca that day as this is nothing like the other sheer foundations I’ve tried. Also, I can build it up if needed! It’s sheer mostly because I use the spray with it (personal preference).

If I want to build it for coverage I just use it without spray and reapply in that area.

I want to start off by saying that I LOVE CT products. I have been eyeing this foundation forever and finally ordered it. I have fair/light skin with yellow undertones so I got shade 1. 5 but when I received the product and tested it out it was DARK ORANGE.

The color did not match the photos on the product page at all. Way too dark for my skin and the tone was totally wrong. For me it’s completely unwearable, warranting a 1-star rating, but I still gave two stars because although I can’t attest to the formula, I have to assume it is superb based on other CT products.

I will be returning this and ordering the lightest shade even though the undertones described sound so wrong for my complexion but I’m still really hoping to find a win here. My usual go-to foundations are MAC Studio Radiance Face and Body in shade C1 and Bareminerals Complexion Rescue in shade Birch.

Light Wonder Foundation , £34. 00. When I wear this foundation I use shade 1 Fair which is for fairest skin with neutral undertones as I am very pale and usually wear the fairer shades. Light Wonder is the type of foundation you would pick if you wanted a sheer to light coverage foundation with a glowy finish.

This was one of the first glowy base foundations from Charlotte but I would say due to the sheerness this foundation is almost like tinted moisturiser. I tend to use this product when I want something as close to my natural skin that can be used to even my complexion but almost look like I’m not wearing anything.

So if you like your foundation to look as natural as possible this would be your perfect match.

I’ve been using this foundation for over 3 years now. I’ve tried other tinted moisturizers/CC/BB creams, and I still come back to this. I have extremely dry skin and this product works in conjunction with other moisturizers to keep that moisture in.

I keep coming back to this product because unlike other nourishing foundations, this product is very blendable and applies evenly. My issue with other products is that if they are moisturizing, then the application is not as even as a regular foundation.

I feel that this product has the best of both worlds. It’s not watery and applies as somewhat of a hybrid between a gel and a cream. I use a beauty blender to apply this, and it gives medium to light coverage for me.

For the first application, it may not cover inflamed blemishes/very noticeable spots. However, I just dab some on my finger and apply this directly and the second coat covers every imperfection I’ve had so far.

Try it out!.

I Really Like How Lightweight It Is. 50 Years Old, Fair Skinned, Green Eyes, Dry Skin. And It Looks Like Skin But Evens Out Coloring And Minor Blemishes. If You Need Full Coverage, This Is Not For You.

Color buff Was Excellent Match. Went On Better With A Damp Sponge. Would Be Perfect If It Was A Pump Rather Than The Applicator. And I Love That There Is No Sunscreen. I Wear Sunscreen Every Day With 50 spf.

However, Most Makeup Doesn’t Have That High sPF. And SPF Isn’t Additive. Layering A 30 Over A 50 Doesn’t Give Me More Protection. Gives Me Less. And Makeup That Uses Zinc As A Sunscreen Cancels Out My Regular Sunscreen.

Also I Would Need To Wear A Lot Of Foundation To Truly Get Protection. Lastly, I Went Through A LOT Of Brands To Find A Sunscreen That Didn’t Dry My Skin More Or Cause Irritation That Actually Worked To Prevent Burns.

Trying To Find Foundation That Is Just Foundation Is Difficult. I Don’t Want The SPF Negating What I Use Or Irritating My Skin. I Just Want Something To Even My Skin Out When I Want To Feel More Polished.

I have been using this for about 2 years. When COVID hit and masks became a thing, I got horrible acne around my cheeks, jaw, and essentially whatever is covered my mask. *Yay adult acne*. EVERYTHING gave me more acne.

Sephora powders, any kind of concealer. I never use foundation (because my skin is so acne prone). So, I had to stop using any makeup and deal with my acne first. Anyway fast forward 4 months of tretinoin, clindamycin and BC pills.

and I KNEW I could wear this tinted moisturizer without any problem. I made sure though by putting the ingredients into cosdna. com which shows you the comedogenic ingredients on a scale. My skin was always acne-prone, oily and just so sensitive to any makeup and environments.

This tinted moisturizer is so sensitive to acne, oily skin. I am never too dewy or shiny with this on. Its light enough were I am NOT caked in product but enough to diminish some PIE marks. The applicator is OK.

I just use it to dab some product all over and then use a blending brush to spread out the product. I mix it with my Cerave AM/PM moisturizer for extra moisturizing since I use a tretinoin – my skin just needs extra moisturizer always.

I love this product. I just wish it had SPF 40+.

I really love this foundation because out of all the ones I’ve tried this is the only one that actually matches my skin tone. Typically foundations are a bit too yellow for me (think Armani Luminous Silk Foundation Color 3) or a bit too white for me (think Dermablend Continuous Protection CC Cream in 10 N and Armani Power Fabric Color 2) which are workable if I add my own warmth to the skin.

I am certainly not the palest of the pale and do get a slight tan from the sun but it is incredibly subtle. Although I’m paler than most, I don’t burn so easily. I’m just adding these details in case there are other people who have a similar not-so-common skin tone might relate and find this foundation useful.

As for the foundation, it works great. It doesn’t settle into my pores and go on very smoothly. My skin is dry and many foundations need a lot of work just blend into my skin properly but not this one.

I do suggest a moisturizing primer to optimize the look of this foundation but it could be skipped if need be. Also, this foundation wears beautifully throughout the day. While it doesn’t look the same as when I applied it in the evening, it does wear off evenly without looking splotchy and gross.

The foundation does offer a more natural coverage, so if you want a lot of coverage I would look elsewhere. The foundation also feels really nice on the skin, which is a huge benefit. For the record, I don’t power or use a setting spray with this foundation.

When I’ve used a setting spray, I found that the foundation looked worse than before.

Let me give you a little background of my search for the best foundation for years, I searched for a foundation that delivered the ability to hide imperfections, blemishes, uneven tone, and at the same time not look like it’s caked and settling into the little very fine lines I’ve started to see at the ago of 34! I’ve tried every foundation I could possibly try from Tart’s Tape Shape, smash box all of their foundation line, Fenty’s filterless foundation, Urban Decay Naked and even the newest naked foundation that came out over a year ago, Estée Lauder’s double wear and double wear light, well as Estée Lauder’s Re-Nutriv Ultra Radiance Liquid Foundation (costs $120), and more foundations too many to list.

I even sampled the most expensive Foundation SKIN CAVIAR CONCEALER FOUNDATION which left my skin too oily and costs about 250! Well luckily Not only did I find the perfect foundation for me La Mer Soft Fluid Foundation, which has numberous skin benefits that show in a short amount of time this expensive but worth it foundation is nothing short of amazing! I spurge whenever I possibly can on this about 135 for 1 oz but it is the best and most gorgeous foundation I’ll ever tried! Girl you won’t regret this foundation!.

The product itself is fantastic and shows less transfer to a mask than my Nars sheer glow foundation. It doesn’t last as long as the Nars but pretty good and VERY natural appearance. The star rating is due to the Sephora process: this item is not available in stores so I ended up having to return and purchase other shades to match it for the first time.

The dependency on shipping (this was also during the holidays) limits the actual time a customer has to match after waiting for shipping on multiple orders. The 30 day policy is very normal and fair BUT for items that are not in store where they can be matched, it’s not realistic for items not in the store.

When I asked the store manager she said I could try the New York store and match there. We are in Columbus OH… also not sure how that helps the other 48 states either? Seems an opportunity for customer service as a customer in need of matching is likely a new customer and that’s a first impression that could make or break consumer loyalty….

This is my first time trying a Tom Ford foundation! I really enjoyed it, here are my thoughts :). Packaging: The packaging really cool! The box is really iridescent and pretty. The foundation comes in a bottle where you twist the squirt top up, and it’ll lock.

I think this is really cool because it won’t squirt foundation all over the place in your makeup bag, or have to keep up with a top. It is all seemingly really clean. Application: I use this foundation with a brush, and it applies so beautifully and it’s more of a thick consistency so it definitely covers all the redness on my face and I don’t have to use concealer unless I’m doing a more glammed up look.

It also stays on really well!!! I tried it for a few days without setting spray, a few days with setting powder, and a few days with setting spray. It definitely last really long without having a setting product.

I’m a teacher so I talk a lot, I never noticed that it separated or anything around my mouth like some foundations do when you talk or smile a lot. I truly don’t mind a scented product but It does have kind of a funky smell.

Since I was picking my shade out from my phone since I was going to be trying this product free from Influenster, I could have picked too light of a shade, but I noticed when I take pictures with flash my face almost has a white cast over it.

Even on days I didn’t use setting product! Price: I’m someone who doesn’t mind spending a little more on foundation/ face products because they use higher quality ingredients that won’t be super rough on skin.

So I think the $88 is pretty fair for a splurge item because the bottle is so big and the ingredients don’t bother my super sensitive skin. Ending thoughts: I would definitely be purchasing this product again.

I’m so pleasantly surprised by this foundation. I’ve used Chanel’s Ultra Le Teint in the color beige rose (12) for many years. But since moving to a warmer climate a few years ago, I’ve struggled with combination skin, and have had a difficult time balancing it.

A few months ago I found a skincare line that has been working to balance my skin, but I needed more help. So I went in search of a matte foundation, and I think I found a true winner. It does everything it claims to, and has already made a visible difference.

I used to have to blot my skin a few times throughout the day to get rid of the shine, but I haven’t needed to do that since I began using this foundation. I wasn’t sure if it would make my skin look and feel papery and dry, but I haven’t had that problem at all so far.

I honestly don’t know how a matte foundation could make my skin look healthy and radiant while still being matte- but it actually does! It balances the oil, covers imperfections, and evens my skin tone.

And it’s so breathable and light! It feels like I’m not even wearing foundation. It’s literally given me the skin I’ve wanted my whole life. I’m obsessed, and so happy I chose it. The price is steep, but with this you definitely get what you pay for.

It’s well worth the price, because it doesn’t just function as makeup- it functions like skincare too. I’m so happy with my purchase!.

These are my initial thoughts since it just arrived in the mail and obviously I had to try it immediately. I was very lucky to have chosen my color correctly online. I usually wear Mac foundation. I recently stopped tanning so I couldn’t wear the Mac foundation color I had any more since I ran very dark.

While I waited on this one I was using Ulta HD which I liked. This Tom Ford foundation though… it looks like my skin but better! Smooth, even, no redness. I do have oils skin. (Like I put make up on in the morning and by noon I need to blot or I look shiny and priming and baking is a must) The packaging and bottle design just feel luxury.

At $85 dollars a bottle though I worry about how long it will last me with regular use. Again, I’ve just put it on for the first time but so far, I am in love. I also bought the Tom Ford highlight and contour pallet and I love it too! My make up looks so natural it honestly just looks like I have really nice skin which I love! If you can afford it, definitely give it a try, it is worth the hype.

For the record I just turned 32 in January so I am starting to get some fine lines mostly on my forehead and inner corners of my eyes. So finding a foundation that doesn’t settle into those fine lines and drawing attention to them has become a MUST! I would definitely recommend this foundation for mature women having a similar issue.

LM 10 – Amazing foundation. Lovely packaging and comes with a lovely pump dispenser. It’s more liquid-y than your typical liquid foundation. Be prepared for it to start getting runny after 1-2 pumps.

Some might not like that, but personally, I do not see this an issue. In fact, I love everything about the formula because of everything it does for my skin. It gives a youthful glow, is versatile as heck, hydrating (never enhances any of my dryness), blends beautifully and can easily apply and blend with fingers/hands (YES, you can use it this way— with or without a brush/sponge!).

The coverage is buildable. Depending on how much product and what application technique is used, you can get anywhere from a sheer light, light-to-medium, or medium coverage. But either way, you will be left with a gorgeous natural finish and glowing skin every time.

Something about the finish of this is always soo naturally beautiful yet unique to this foundation. It’s not matte and not just dewy either. I’d say it’s between satin and dewy but with an added dose of youthfulness.

My skin will look plump, moisturized, and healthy.

I don’t want to sound dramatic but this foundation has changed my life. About three months ago I went on the hunt for a new foundation because my old product wasn’t working for me anymore. I’ve tried Ilia’s foundation, Giorgio Armani, two different foundations from NARS, and the Estee Lauder double wear.

I thought I had landed on double wear as the best fit for me, when I decided to give this last one a chance. This is the best foundation I have ever used. It is shockingly covering for how watery it is and goes on silky smooth.

It’s true what people say about the longer you wear it, about 10 minutes after application I couldn’t believe the results. It’s my skin but better. I’m not a fan of the no makeup makeup look and am an avid foundation wearer, however this foundation strikes the perfect balance between less is more and coverage.

The application process for me takes time and I use my hands, a foundation brush, and a sponge, but the end result is worth it. The only thing not to love about this is the price, but it’s 100% worth it.

I will still hold on to my double wear for major evening events where full coverage is a must. If you’re thinking about trying this, do it.

not sure why the system didn’t let me select light 1, but that’s the shade i use. anyway, this foundation is incredible. i have very dry skin and rosacea, with hyperpigmentation spots from old acne scars that need covering.

this truly does it all, without looking or feeling heavy. it melts into my skin as opposed to most foundations, which just feel like they’re sitting on top. blends out super quickly with a beautyblender, i spend almost no time blending it out.

i like a dewy finish so i use a priming oil after my moisturizer, and this looks like a dream on top of it all. it’s sheer enough for the dewiness to peek through but provides enough coverage that it effortlessly conceals my problem areas.

the matching concealer is also fantastic. bonus points for coming in a very pale with pink undertone shade, it’s usually really hard to find a shade that works for me in a foundation that i actually like.
