Best Foundation For Someone Who Doesn T Wear Makeup (2024 Updated)

I am on accutane at the moment (therefore my skin is very dry and I have a lot of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, aka red and pink spots everywhere) and I cannot get any liquid foundations to stick to my skin.

They just come straight off on the brush or beauty blender as I’m trying to apply them. This has been super frustrating that I would sometimes end up doing my foundation 2-3 times before I was even remotely happy with it.

I had a travel size of the bareminerals powder foundation in my drawer and thought, maybe I’ll see what happens if I use this. Oh my GOD!!! It has seriously saved me. I only need to apply my foundation once which is the biggest relief ever and it stays on!!! It does not highlight dryness, nor does it make my already dry skin any worse.

I can very easily use other powder products on top. It covers all my acne scarring and pigmentation amazingly- better than a lot of liquid foundations I’ve tried. If you are on the fence, you need to buy this.

It’s so good to have for bad skin days when your usual makeup won’t behave. I apply my skincare, sunscreen and allow it to dry before applying Bareminerals Prime Time primer or Smashbox Original Photo Finish primer (they’re pretty much the same thing), and then the powder foundation.

I have shade Golden Ivory and for reference I’m about an NC20-NC25. Thank you Bareminerals ❤️.

I’m 59 and have been using this foundation off and on for years. I had switched over to IT Cosmetics CC cream (which I still like) but switched back to this one summer when my oily skin was being a problem.

Yes, somehow I’m still oily at 59 – which I guess is good since I am just now starting to get lines around my mouth. I find that the Bare Minerals sets much less into these lines than the CC cream or even the Il Makiage liquid foundation that I just bought.

How I use this: I first put on serum, moisturizer (Sunday Riley Good Genes) and then Murad Invisiblur. I then take a dense, flat ended foundation brush (mine’s by IT cosmetics), pick up just a small amount of foundation, and instead of buffing, I tap it into my skin.

That seems to do a better job of disguising pores. I follow up with a little IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores powder and if I have to wear a mask that day, I finish off with the UD finishing spray which keeps the mask clean.

The finish looks great and I can’t really tell I’m wearing foundation (at my age I check everything in a 10x magnifying mirror to make sure I’m not looking like a clown!) This for me performs better than any liquid foundation, and I used to be a MAC makeup artist so I know what I’m doing application wise.

I first tried Bare Minerals in the late 90s after seeing it on TV and was supremely underwhelmed. It was cakey and thick and with one drop of sweat made me itch so much that I wanted to scratch my face off.

Fast forward several years and I’ve tried Bare Minerals Original again, after studying articles & videos on application – and now I’m in love. First, I’ve found I can avoid the itch by beginning with a primer.

Bare Minerals Original does contain Bismuth, which some people are sensitive to. Primer before adds a barrier that has stopped the itching for me. Regarding application, it’s all about technique and not using too much product! Swirl, tap & buff.

and buff. and buff! That buffing the key to an even, flawless finish with Bare Minerals, as it really does help the powder blend with the moisture on your face and not settle into lines and pores. I blend 3 shades to get the color that works best for me, but Bare Minerals is quite forgiving and easy to match to individual skin tones.

If you’re on the fence I’d say give it a try – if you’re not happy, reflect on your technique before you decide this is not the makeup for you!.

My expectations were high trying this makeup for the first time. I’ve been using double wear liquid foundation for about 10 years but I had never tried this powder foundation. I purchased 1W2 Sand, to use when I’m in a hurry & need to put makeup on in my truck so tried it first with out primer.

It does give coverage but my face was so powdered, I tried rubbing it in to make it look normal. It did okay on my dark spots. The second time I used primer and it was a little better but still too powdered, I had to really blend it with my fingers.

I applied the rest of my usual products, it lasted a while but didn’t hold up the rest of the day. I’ve used other powder foundations that have more moisture, I was expecting this one to be the same.

Overall it’s okay, but pricey. I love Estée Lauder foundation so I’m keeping it but probably won’t but this particular one again.

This is a great powder foundation when you don’t feel like doing a full-coverage liquid foundation. This is buildable, light to medium coverage. I can apply this quickly with a brush or sponge. I usually use concealer underneath to cover spots or acne and this works well on top.

I’ve found the color is a touch darker in powder form than liquid. For example, I wear 1C1 Cool Bone in the Double Wear Stay-in-Place (liquid) foundation but in this compact, it’s a tiny bit darker/pinker.

So I switched to 1N2 Ecru in the Matte Powder and it matches my skin tone perfectly now! Like others, I still miss the double matte oil-control pressed powder. But this is the next best thing without having to change brands completely.

I’ve been looking to try a new brand of powder since the one I currently use has been discontinued by another brand. I tried another well known brand before coming to this one, but boy I wish had tried this first! Its brilliant.

Wonderful quality, great coverage without looking cakey and really evens out skin tone. I have combination skin and it mattifies my oily t-zone whilst not drying out my drier cheeks. It doesn’t leave any flakes or cracks and even better it doesn’t sink (or highlight) any fine wrinkles.

Cannot recommend this enough, I’m converted for life!.

Gahhh I really keep coming back to my tried and true blue Estée Lauder! This compact is a dream to have in my purse and just, in my LIFE. I’m sorry I ever left you! Just trying to find a discount, a good-enough dupe, something shiny and new to no avail.

My bad. It’s glides on like a dream, isn’t dry and powdery, has beautiful light-medium coverage (I still use concealer) and is great on its own or to set the amazing, infalliable DW foundation. It’s hard to find a good match for my skin tone, even with all these ‘Match My Foundation’ sites– you know the ones.

Don’t trust them! All my life I thought I was this brown person, but I was matched to Tawny which looks like it’s on the light side for me, although still a ‘Medium’ shade. This is the PERFECT shade that IS NOT ORANGE.

Can we all stop with the Orange Oxidation rage, please? I can’t believe how many compacts I’ve gone through that are straight orange. Are that many Oompa Loompas buying makeup now? I’ve also tried Cashew which works well, too, more of my summer shade.

And though it’s a honey-like color. guess what? ALSO NOT ORANGE! Pricey but lasts long, packaged well, loves you back, treats you RIGHT, makes you breakfast, does the dishes. even Mom loves it. I’m putting a ring on it.

Like every woman out there I’ve been on the hunt for the best combination of foundation and powder for the look that I want. I’ve found it! This powder combined with Double Wear Nude Water Fresh gives me a good coverage with a very natural look.

I use a single application of the DL Nude Water Fresh and then top it off by lightly brushing the DoubleWear powder over it. The powder gives additional coverage with a great texture and great overall set to my makeup.

The result is as close to looking like pure skin than anything I’ve tried. And on the weekend or for a quick trip out when I am in a hurry, this powder gives just enough coverage and texture to stand alone.

I like that I can use less or more, depending on how much coverage I want at the moment. I also use a soft eye shadow brush and brush a light coat on my eyelids. Gives a great foundation to my eye shadow.

Also finishes off a very natural look when I’m in a hurry and using powder only and minimum everything! My skin and eyes are sensitive and I’ve had no issues with this powder at all. Great product!.

I have been searching for the right match for my skin type, I walked into Myer and straight away was approached by lovely friendly consultant. This lady was amazing. She walked me over to the testing and color match area.

We tried on many different products. She was very patient and kind. She walked me through all the option’s. when I finally felt like I found the right fit. She looked for the products but wasn’t available in stalk.

She told me I can place an order and will be dilivred to my home address. I agreed. Within 2 working days I received my products and was very happy with overall experience. I wish I remember her name.

She’s fantastic and will love to thank her.

I have very oily skin so the Estée Lauder Double Wear range is perfect for me. I use this powder to set my foundation on long work days. I wear this powder foundation alone on weekends when I want a little bit of coverage and mattifying.

I keep this powder in my bag for occasional top ups. This is my second purchase of this powder and I’m going to keep buying it.

Is the shade range small? Yes. But let’s remember, this is a small black owned business. They can only offer so much to start off. They started off in 2016 just doing lipstick and slowly expanded their products over the years.

This formula is beautiful and has worked on myself and many others. Blends out so well with a brush or sponge. Feels super lightweight. This stick can be used for more than just foundation. Contour/bronzing is just another thing they can be used for.

As a black woman who has had to deal with shade ranges that only cater to white people, this range is refreshing. Not only does it take a lot of the guess work out of picking the shade, but it’ll show non people of color what POC still deal with to this day.

Hopefully one day, they can expand the shade range to suit more people. Don’t give a bad review without even trying it out.

I took the color finder test which recommended M30, but I wasn’t sure so decided to try the sample pack. Both M20 and M30 were close to a match so I decided to trust the color match suggestion and ordered M30.

Upon applying it all over my face, it has a bit too much of an orange undertone, so while it is close, it was not the best match afterall. I also have oily skin, and per the recommendation it was supposed to be a good choice, but I can tell you even using their primer first before applying the foundation.

I could see oil breaking through within the first 30 minutes. I would probably do better with a powder or liquid to matte option. It does glide on really well and it doesn’t take a lot. I think I used two lines on both cheeks, one on my forehead, and one small line over my chin and it was enough.

Overall, I do like the stick applicator but may have to to exchange for M20.

I bought this in the lightest shade because it had great reviews for quality. Even though so many reviews stated it was dark for their skin, I have naturally olive toned skin. I am Italian and by no means is my skin pale.

So I was shocked that the palest shade available was way too dark for my skin. It wasn’t until I actually looked up Mented online that I read this was specifically made for women of color. I see so many other people buying this product unaware that even the lightest shade will not work on their skin if they are not a woman with darker shaded skin than a woman with white or even light olive colored skin tone.

I hope this helps someone else be aware if they are looking to purchase they may not carry your skin shade. I will either use it as a contour or return it to Ulta.

Giving this 5 stars simply because the look of this on my skin is phenomenal, however, the powder kickback is a bit much and I try to mitigate that by pressing in my brush and going directly to my skin and applying it very slowly and mindfully.

It still kicks up a lot of powder but it may be impossible to get rid of that and keep the amazing formula and look/finish of this on the skin. So I will take the kick back if I have to since this product is SO DARN GOOD (for me).

I am almost 54; and when your 25 year old daughter comes in and says “WOW your face looks amazing mom, what do you have on and will you get me one?” you know it is GOOD. I typically have a ruddy complexion so the difference between me in a little mineral powder and me without is pretty noticeable (unless you are my husband who doesn’t seem to notice-ha!).

I have used this product for as long as I can remember (not long after it first came out) and gave up makeup altogether for about 10 years while my kids were little but came back as I got older and just needed a little something to even out my skin tone.

I have other powders that I love and I also use the Amazing base but the colors of the pressed in my tone (warm) are more yellow; which I absolutely LOVE. I do not use primer but I do use a little rosewater as a spritz.

I know everyones skin is different and not everyone will love this product but for me it is one of my Holy Grails.

I absolutely love this base foundation! I used an older version of the press foundation from Jane Iredale in a shade that didn’t correct my undertone, but since buying the correct undertone, I can finally cover dark patches! Also the coverage is amazing, with a little going a long way.

I can honestly say hands down this is the best I’ve used. Lightweight, excellent coverage and makes me look like I’m not even wearing make up. I use the Jane Iredale setting spray, which gives me a dewy look instead of a matt look and love it.

It use to smell like oranges which I loved but this time I’m not so sure about the smell. The foundation doesn’t smell like anything which I prefer. I don’t like perfumed cosmetics.

Was the wrong colour for me. I have mocha in powder and collagen cushion compact airbrush liquid powder and it is perfect. But the liquid silk is a lot darker. So I have not been using this product too much.

I should have got a lighter foundation. But in saying that the few times I used this product it went on easily. Did not aggravate my skin at all.

Initially, I ordered 2 samples for light skin, and I really liked how it did not emphasized my pores, and how well it worked with my skincare so I ordered full size. It dries to a semi-matte finish, but without an oil-control primer, it does not stay matte all day on my oily skin.

It has medium coverage which can be built up. The finish is really nice and I often find myself reaching for M over my other foundations. The major drawback is that this foundation runs darker than what the photos suggest – I do not see how vanilla could work for very light skin! Another issue is the inconsistency in color between the sample and the full size – the sample was more cool tone and slightly darker than the full size which is more warm/gold tone, but I still like it.

I’m leaving a 4 star only because I have sensitive skin and it caused tiny breakouts when worn under the mask with powder. Otherwise this would just be my perfect go-to foundation. Pros: It has a very fine texture with super tiny shimmery particles; glides & spreads onto the skin with great consistency that looks super natural.

I’m a light-skinned Asian so the creamy/slightly peachy 002 is very close to my natural skin tone (when lightly dusted with powder; otherwise it’s a bit dark). I bought this for daily use when I don’t want a difference between my face and my neck.

However I also bought the 012 (lighter & just a bit more peachy) for professional purposes when I have to be onstage as a performer, etc. because of lighting. I like that both are more peachy in tone than other yellow/cream/neutral foundations out there, which means it’s closer to the actual human skin tone and will lead to less of the “white-mask” effect.

However it does oxidize so within 4-6hrs even the lighter 012 fades to my natural skin tone and there’s not too much difference between 012 and 002. Cons: After wearing a full face of this foundation for two days onstage (1 light layer + light powder and then another light layer + light powder for more staying power), my cheeks broke out with small tiny bubbles, I’m not sure what they are because they’re not red like acne and are not visible in the mirror, however they definitely are bumpy when I touched my skin.

It was slightly uncomfortable and I was disappointed. To be fair, I had to wear masks some times on both days, but some other friends who did not need to wear masks also reported the same results. So while it’s a beautiful foundation, make sure to check the ingredients so you don’t hurt your skin.

Also beware this has talc, and depending on how the talc is sourced, it may be bad for your body. I’ll be turning to another foundation without some of the irritating ingredients, though it’s a pity that I have to do so.

I have light olive skin and this is the best color match I have ever found. I love the finish as well. It doesn’t have the best-staying power as I have oily skin. However, I’m used to this problem with most foundations I have used.

I gave this foundation four stars because its price point has moved from 77 to 96. I go through bottles rather quickly (every two months) as I wear makeup every day so I will be spending a little over 600 a year just for the foundation.

I feel makeup should be luxurious but also practical when it comes to cost.

This is NOT the same foundation as usual! It is thin and oily. Does not go on smoothly as it used to and barely lasts two hours. It is like a drug store brand at double the price. I am so disappointed, not only because I stocked up an bought 3 bottles, but because I miss the quality of the foundation I’ve been using for years.

I don’t know what I will replace it with, but borghese will no longer be a brand I use.

It’s been my favorite foundation, since I sold Borghese in the 90’s at Macy’s. Hydro minerali creme foundation has a good coverage. It has a flawless look for a person like me who has a few wrinkles.

It feels light and fresh on your skin. I have allergic reactions to many foundations, but never with this one. I highly recommend this foundation.

So i ordered this kit because i wanted to try out the Silicone foundations because I’ve always used water base. So the kit came a day early, which was great and i was so excited! I open the box and start unpacking everything and first thing in notice was the Foundations we’re leaked into the caps.

So i thought nothing of it too much and assembled everything so i can go ahead and try out my new airbrush! I find my shade, go to put a few drops in my gun and. Nothing comes out. I shake it realllllyyY hard and ended up getting about 4 drops out, then nothing again.

I tried 2 or 3 more and, same thing. It’s almost like the foundations we’re clogged or old, I’m not sure. So anyway, i start to spray the gun just to see how it works, and it starts spitting EVERYWHERE.

The trigger wasn’t working properly at all. This whole kit was a disaster. I’ve emailed customer service 3 times. They answered once wanting my order number, gave them that and sent some pictures of the products and my concerns, and have never heard anything back.

I’ve called their customer service line 5 times with never an answer only option was to leave a voicemail. I’ve used the text number for customer support and no response. I’ve never had this many issues with customer service with anything I’ve ever purchased and seeing that temptu is such a high rise company i figured they would be a little more into helping their customers.

Now i have a defective airbrush kit, a loss of $300 and no help. I’m disappointed. I really wanted to try the silicone foundations and I’ve heard so many good things about temptu. I’m not sure maybe i just received a defective one but there is no customer service to either supply me with a set that is in actual working condition or refund my money.

This product has always done right by me! I’m so glad I switched over to Temptu for my airbrush. It goes on beautifully no matter what method you use it with sponge, brush, fingertips, or airbrush machine.

This formula is wonderful for dryer skin types and it just glows and reflects the light so well it looks like great and healthy skin.

I purchased the Temptu SB foundation on the recommendation of a fellow pro artists. and I am extremely glad I did. After using water based airbrush products for many years and liking the finish they provide they still don’t compare to the more natural look of the silicone base which is much more skin like.

It gives my brides a beautiful finish and and has long lasting all day wear. I had also heard that the silicone base could possibly clog up the airbrush gun and was difficult to clean out. I have not found that to be the case at all with the correct cleaner my two airbrush guns have not clogged and are still working perfectly.

I highly recommend the Temptu SB airbrush makeup. and they have a great color range as well ! Janet Harris.

I have combo skin, as the day goes on oily in the T zone and the rest of my face is normal to dry. I hated this foundation because it was drying and heavy makeup-y looking on the skin until I found a different way to use it (mix it).

First of, I’ve been on a foundation hunt ever since EL double wear light hydra foundation was discontinued (it was my ride or die) and I’ve spent hundreds of dollars trying to find something that made me feel good in my skin and the task had been hard, and finally I looked over at the original EL double wear collecting dust and how everyone loves it I was like what do I have to lose, I gave it another chance in a different way.

Most important thing to do first is to prep and hydrate the skin. I use the Neutrogena Naturals Multi-Vitamin Nourishing Moisturizer and Mario Badescu Facial Spray my fav is the Aloe, Cucumber and Green Tea.

Let that sink in a little into the skin. And here the my magic key mixture that gave me beautiful with the EL double wear. MIX the foundation with a drop of the Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Multi-Recovery Complex Serum (I use a makeup palette and spatula , on pump of foundation and a drop of serum and mix very well! Add less serum to see how you like it because you can always add more , Vs take away ).

With the mix, The foundation becomes hydrated and so smooth to apply and looks just like skin ! Also, I love the EL shade range they blend beautifully with the skin so foundation looks seamless. This was a game changer.

My skin isn’t drying in this anymore and it has a healthy natural finish. The longevity is completely kept intact with the serum just like EL double wear is famous for and it’s just perfect combination.

Please try this if Double Wear has not worked before for you. Shade: 1N1 but I will be ordering 1N2 as this one is just a hint too light. The serum I had as a sample. This is why it’s so small. I will be ordering a bottle of it.

This is my BY FAR FAVORITE foundation. I’ve come back to review this for the 2nd time now, last time was in November after using for a month to see how I liked it and wanted to see if it would break me out before reviewing, etc.

but I’ve just been unable to find another foundation like this one! To start off, I have really dry, eczema skin. but if you use a moisturizer and some setting spray on your face before putting this on, you will be fine if your skin is like mine.

So, I had run out of this foundation at the beginning of the year, I should’ve ordered when I was getting low but I was unaware that they don’t carry this one in the ulta stores, so I finished off the remainder of this too faced foundation I had (not the same but works good) and that started getting low so I went into my local ulta to see if I could maybe find something similar to it.

Nothing similar but a worker recommended a Smashbox matte foundation for me since I have dry skin. and I returned in within 2 days because I just couldn’t. it enlarged my pores and had barely any coverage at all.

So I was out of town and went and visited another ulta, hoping I could return that one and find this foundation, they didn’t have it either! So I settled with too face again but got a shade too dark.

So now I have to return yet again (ulta is about to be sick of me lol) but I’m almost thinking about returning this, and going foundationless for a while until I can order this and have it come in the mail.

Too faced is great, don’t get me wrong it’s definitely my 2nd choice, but nothing seems to compare to this foundation and will always be my favorite. It can withstand heat, humidity and sweat, all while making your face look flawless (not exaggerating).

My forever favorite. I would never come back and review something for a 2nd time. but now that I’m without it and have had to the other foundations again, I am seeing that I need to not go without this foundation again!.

Finding a foundation for women of a certain age has been an impossible task. When I ask a salesperson if they have a foundation for women my age, 55, that will meet my needs; hydrate my skin, keep sebum at bay, cover my age spots and redness, last through a working day and make me look like I’m wearing nothing, well, they look at me with fear in their eyes.

Then one day, I came across Elizabeth Arden at Macy’s. I don’t know anything about EA nor did anyone else at Macy’s, so the salesperson and I went online to read about the foundation and I took a sample home.

The next day, I went back to purchase two colors. So, do I love this foundation? Yes. Does it meet all my needs? No. Has anyone in all these years of searching for the “perfect” foundation for aging skin ever recommended EA? No.

I don’t know why, I absolutely LOVE it, it’s definitely the closest foundation I’ve ever used to meet all my skins issues and believe me, I’ve tried them all. I wholeheartedly recommend this foundation, I’m just thrilled to have found it!.

This is a foundation that is a quality that someone would expect of Elizabeth Arden. I wore it over a Vitamin E base, as silicone primers cause foundations to slide off my oily skin and i found it was a beautiful foundation to just sit on the top of my skin and not sink into my wrinkles in and around my eyes and my other problem areas.

You can definitely tell that it has Hyaluronic Acid, vitamins C and E in it to care for your skin as it feels like it is nourishing you as it sits on your face all day. When i put it on i used a brush, i first noticed that the pump only lets a little at a time out, which is awesome as two little pumps covered my whole face with a light coverage which at my age is all i need.

I don’t like something that looks caked on and usually only use a BB cream or something light to create that dewy finish. This measured up really well to other foundations i have used, in fact it by far surpassed things like a couple of my other really high end foundations, and i was pleasantly surprised about that.

I found it to be very long wearing, which not all foundations are for me, as i have combination skin which is oily in some places and not others, so its a hit and miss with some foundations as to whether it stays on or not.

If its blended well and applied with enough time for each layer to dry its definitely buildable too, which i only did for the purposes of finding out if it is, as i don’t really like to have a heavy foundation.

Although having said that – this foundation never felt heavy even when i did build a couple of layers with it – and i really appreciated that and felt it was a definite plus. All in all i was very happy with this foundation and felt like it suited my age group (42) very well – i was very thankful that i was able to review this and would definitely buy it again so thank you!.

When it was available in department stores, Prescriptives was the foundation company. It offered the widest selection of foundation colors of any company available and s sales person told me people still ask for it.

The color printing process yielded phenomenol results. Their greatest successes were in their natural looking make up with taste and class. The packaging could have been more attractive than the gray medicinal look they used.

I never found any foundation that gave me a better color match and made my skin look so great. However, today’s product is not so great and the color selections are minimal. The line would have continued to sell well in stores if they hadnt tried to compete with Mac in the use of models and products.

THey lost focus on what they do best. Please go back to your oringinal focus and concentrate on foundations in many colors and stop raising prices. Remember drugstore products are coming out that are just as good or better than department store products.

I have used this foundation for 18+ years. I love makeup, so when I see bloggers or Influencers raving about a new profuct, I’m not above giving that new rage a try. after all, that’s how I started using prescriptives! So far NOTHING has compared to this foundation in my opinion.

My skin is almost 20 years older than when I first started using this foundation and it still works the best for me! My skin is a little dryer w/ a few fine lines now, so the fact that this foundation has stood the test of time for me really says something.

The biggest issue I’ve had with other new foundations I’ve tried the last few years is either they don’t have staying power and/or they don’t look natural and can appear cakey or sit in fine lines. Who needs or likes that! This is the only foundation that for me looks like I may not even be wearing foundation yet even’s out my skin and it doesn’t feel heavy on my face; my skin can still breathe all while looking supple and healthy! Bonus, when I workout I can really sweat.

this makeup has great stay put power. no sweating makeup streaks! Love this foundation!.

I really wanted to love this and for this to my every day foundation however it just missed the mark! I loved the consistency and texture of the product and really enjoyed using it. I found that it was a little less fuller coverage than I wanted however I do use a damp sponge so I do know this shears the foundation out slightly.

The down side for me was that the colour choices were slightly off. I have quite light olive skin and found all shades more on the pink side. I could make it work with bronzer and darker powders. The other problem I had with this foundation is that it blocked my pores and got a lot of bumps on my fore head.

As soon as I stopped wearing the foundation my congestion disappeared. I think for the right skin tone and texture the foundation would be great, it just was not the one for me! I think the price point it is worth trying to see if it works for you.

They were not kidding when they said 24H-Matte for this foundation, can’t say anything about 24 hours claim but I have worn it for up to 10 hours and it did not budge and was completely matte. I liked this foundation as its light-weight and still manages to cover quite well (medium coverage, which is buildable) and it stays put all day, I do have dry skin so I need to prep my skin well before using a matte foundation.

Some foundation still highlighted the dryness on my face but this one does not cling to my dry patches nor does it highlight any dryness. The only con I noticed was the shade range, the shades were either too light or too dark to match me perfectly, so I chose a lighter one and bronzed it up so that it matches my skin tone.

I’m so pleasantly surprised by this foundation. I’ve used Chanel’s Ultra Le Teint in the color beige rose (12) for many years. But since moving to a warmer climate a few years ago, I’ve struggled with combination skin, and have had a difficult time balancing it.

A few months ago I found a skincare line that has been working to balance my skin, but I needed more help. So I went in search of a matte foundation, and I think I found a true winner. It does everything it claims to, and has already made a visible difference.

I used to have to blot my skin a few times throughout the day to get rid of the shine, but I haven’t needed to do that since I began using this foundation. I wasn’t sure if it would make my skin look and feel papery and dry, but I haven’t had that problem at all so far.

I honestly don’t know how a matte foundation could make my skin look healthy and radiant while still being matte- but it actually does! It balances the oil, covers imperfections, and evens my skin tone.

And it’s so breathable and light! It feels like I’m not even wearing foundation. It’s literally given me the skin I’ve wanted my whole life. I’m obsessed, and so happy I chose it. The price is steep, but with this you definitely get what you pay for.

It’s well worth the price, because it doesn’t just function as makeup- it functions like skincare too. I’m so happy with my purchase!.

These are my initial thoughts since it just arrived in the mail and obviously I had to try it immediately. I was very lucky to have chosen my color correctly online. I usually wear Mac foundation. I recently stopped tanning so I couldn’t wear the Mac foundation color I had any more since I ran very dark.

While I waited on this one I was using Ulta HD which I liked. This Tom Ford foundation though… it looks like my skin but better! Smooth, even, no redness. I do have oils skin. (Like I put make up on in the morning and by noon I need to blot or I look shiny and priming and baking is a must) The packaging and bottle design just feel luxury.

At $85 dollars a bottle though I worry about how long it will last me with regular use. Again, I’ve just put it on for the first time but so far, I am in love. I also bought the Tom Ford highlight and contour pallet and I love it too! My make up looks so natural it honestly just looks like I have really nice skin which I love! If you can afford it, definitely give it a try, it is worth the hype.

For the record I just turned 32 in January so I am starting to get some fine lines mostly on my forehead and inner corners of my eyes. So finding a foundation that doesn’t settle into those fine lines and drawing attention to them has become a MUST! I would definitely recommend this foundation for mature women having a similar issue.

Observational Review: I got this as a sample so they came in one of those small circular kits. I didn’t notice it runny at all, but then again it was already laid out and all I had to do was dip my brush.

It blends VERY nicely. The coverage for me was honestly perfect. I surprisingly didn’t have to layer a lot to get my acne scars/active blemishes/pores etc covered up. It has such a flawless finish even without setting, like it just holds together so nicely.

I have combo skin and it treated the dry/oily areas super well. Looks very seamless while full coverage at the same time! Personal Review: I have literally never seen a foundation wear so well on my skin.

I almost wanted to cry. I have a lot of texture and pores and literally right when I tapped my brush onto my cheek home girl my heart skipped a beat. I’ve tried SO many foundations from raving drug store and high end, full coverage ones to CC creams and paired with super good primers but I would always get the same mid looking results.

I honestly thought that’s just how my skin was going to be with all foundations and I was never going to have that “it girl” looking base and violà. I’m so hoping to find a dupe bc $90… woof. But I definitely would not mind purchasing a whole bottle for those type of results.

Wow wow, this has been one of the best matte foundations I have tried!! This a great foundation for those who have sensitive skin and with all the natural ingredients such as capucine extract, pink clay, and anatto extract, they are good ingredients for the skin.

It claims to improve skin quality with use, reduce pore appearance, correct, mattify, and hydrate. I can say that it follows all these claims. Best part, I didn’t break out after using it every time, which typically happens whenever I use foundations.

This foundation feels like nothing on the skin and has buildable coverage; ranging from medium to full. This foundation also doesn’t need powder since it dries matte and it has no to little transfers when wearing a mask, but I personally still use powder just to be safe and since I get oily throughout the day.

You don’t need to use a lot to get a good coverage either, 1 1/2 to 2 pumps is enough for my whole face. Another great perk to recognize about this foundation is that the bottle is recyclable! I like products that promote at least trying to make the earth a cleaner and better planet.

This foundation also has a wide range of 35 skin shades, which is ALWAYSSS a bonus… but should be a given in the first place. I tested this foundation while having it on for a typical 8 hour day being out doing errands and it stayed matte, with some slight creasing by the end of the night but nothing too noticeable.

This is a great foundation when taking pictures, but it’s important to remember that at the end of the day, makeup lays on top of skin so there will be texture. However, if you are able to take care of your skin and put skincare first before makeup you can have a decently smooth surface to put on makeup smoothly, but what is good about this foundation is that the skincare aspect has been taken into consideration.

This foundation has been great during the winter time and it’ll probably be even better during the summer with the sweatproof and waterproof formula. I had a great experience with this foundation and I typically only use concealer because foundation is another layer I don’t want to add to my makeup routine, but I’ll give this product the exception.

A lot of aspects of this is product is positive and truly the few downsides of this product is it’s pricey and if you tend to be oily you still may need to powder your face if you plan to have a night out of fun.

So as a test I place the product on the back of my left hand completely free of any other products at all. I then covered the back of my right hand with “touch in sol Icy sherbet primer” before laying down a layer the Givenchy Prisme Libre Skin Caring Foundation on top.

(See photo for results) The left has full coverage and the product seemed to really soak into my very dry skin, creating this snake like scaly effect that is very noticeable if your really looking at the product up close.

The right hand however; due to the use of the primer application first does not have the scaly effect/look to it. The foundation mixed very well with the primer to create a very seamless application and an even more seamless polished look.

Next pro/con- I have very fair skin and any foundation has this overwhelming fake effect on my skin, it’s unfortunate but true. Foundation has never been my friend. I was really hoping that with the “pink clay” ingredient in the Givenchy Prisme Libre Foundation that it’s application to my fair skin would seem quite flawless and carry that blue/pink undertone that my very fair complexion needs.

Unfortunately this was not the case. This foundation seems to carry the red/yellow undertone that makes my complexion seem slightly Jaundice with a yellowing shadow. After about 30 minutes of having the product on my skin the left hand without the primer underneath feels and looks extremely dried out.

Whereas the right hand that has the primer applied underneath is still very soft and smooth. I would recommend this Foundation for those that naturally have that red/yellow undertone in their skin, however; my recommendation comes full force with the suggestion of applying your favorite skin smoothing primer as a base layer to build the foundation upon.

Without the primer your foundation will not be as seamless and your skin will feel quite drained of its moisture.
