Best Foundations For Acne Scars (2024 Updated)

This is as amazing as everyone in the beauty community says it is. It’s full coverage beyond belief, so a little goes a long way. I believe that it was originally designed for film or stage makeup so it’s a bit much to use on it’s own.

When used on it’s own consistently, I often break out. I love mixing it with a more sheer foundation like the or the. It’s great for photos, filming, stage makeup and special events. Because this product has so much pigment, it also works well as a concealer or cover up.

I would recommend this product, but I would caution against fake products. Always purchase from an authorized retailer. Do your research and make sure your product is genuine! Five out of five stars.

I absolutely love dermacol. I would never purchase it from amazon or any online retailer who is not approved directly from the authorized list for obvious reasons- but I’ve never had an issue with authorized versions (specially the one founded in Seattle).

It covers my beauty marks and for that I am forever grateful- as no other product has been able to. Although it does feel heavy, I don’t mind it. If you’re someone who needs full coverage- this product is for you.

It can be a bit pricy but you seriously don’t need that much of this product. I love mixing it with a darker foundation and a bit of jojoaba oil. I find that it mixes well and becomes less thick- yet still stays a full coverage consistency.

Would recommend!.

I ordered shade 208 in this to use as a tattoo cover up along side the dermacol makeup setting spray and I have to say I’m hugely impressed! I am very very pale so bought shade 208 which is the lightest shade available and although it is still slightly too dark for my skin tone, it does the job! You need only the tiniest amount so it will last ages and you can layer up the application too.

I just used any old moisturiser as a base and then dabbed a spot of this on with a dermacol application sponge layering up once each layer has dried. I then used baby powder as a setting powder and then finished with the dermacol setting spray and it is produced a matt finish that was soft to touch and didn’t smudge when I put on my sandals.

Perfect and great value for money!!!.

I used this forever – like 12 years or so. I have very bad cystic acne and rosacea and my skin is crazy sensitive too. This was the sole foundation that never caused me to breakout, covered beautifully, was blendable and buildable, and lasted all day.

So, why JUST WHY they changed the formula when it had clearly been selling well for a great many years is beyond me. All I know is my skin reacted horribly to the formula change. One ginormous cyst had to be injected and I am still waiting for 3 others to clear.

Nightmare change and I am so very sad they did this.

I don’t typically leave reviews, but with how hard it’s been to find the right products for me, I think it’s important to share when I find something that actually works. I have combo skin so mostly just an oily t-zone.

I’ve been dealing with mild acne for a long time and now that I’ve hit my 20s It’s started getting cystic as well. I needed to find something that doesn’t clog my pores and I’m so glad I decided to go with this foundation.

I’ve only worn it one day and I’m already in love. It’s got a great consistency and the coverage is easily buildable. After several hours it held up its matte and I didn’t get greasy at all. Not to mention it didn’t transfer! I wasn’t too crazy about the smell right off the bat but it went away really quick.

Overall I absolutely love this foundation.

I have oily combination skin that is acne prone and have occasional cystic flare ups. Okay so when I first started using this foundation it was actually making my skin look super good and it covered nicely and I wasn’t breaking out from it.

But I noticed about a week of using it my skin stared peeling and drying out so my skin was literally a lizard at the end of using it and on top of that my skin was even more oily and I was starting to break out.

So I stopped using using I’m thinking it’s probably the salicylic acid that did. If they took that stuff out I’d 100% buy this foundation again because it was nice at first. Although maybe I won’t because I had to used a white mixer to fix how dark the ivory was plus it oxidized quite a bit so it made the color at least 2 shades too dark for me and I’m not super pale but I’m light skinned.

So be warmed shades are poo for pale people and people with a darker complexion.

I’m not sure why people are saying this is greasy… I have relatively oily skin that doesn’t get along well with dewier foundations but I have not had a problem with this one. I’ve been using it for years, on and off, and I keep coming back to it.

It makes my skin look great, doesn’t feel sticky, and lasts all day. I use the e. l. f. oil control serum, a setting spray, apply with a beauty blender, set with powder and some more spray (pretty much my go-to routine for any foundation) and it works great.

My only complaint is the shade range. The lightest is just a little dark on me, especially in winter, and I’m not exactly lily white. Overall, I’d say you can’t beat it for the price and the fact that most comparable drugstore foundations aren’t cruelty-free.

Just make more shades please!!.

I have repurchased this foundation over and over. It has super natural, your-skin-but-better, coverage and it doesn’t feel “makeupy”. It’s the only base product at the drugstore that actually covers my redness pretty well without clogging my pores or causing breakouts and I prefer it to more expensive foundations and cc creams.

I have dry, sensitive skin but I truly think it could work for different skin types depending on how you prime/set. It also doesn’t settle into my lines around my eyes, although it does settle a little around my mouth but I just make sure to prime there and it still looks great.

I use it alone, mixed with oil or moisturizer, and as a spot treatment/concealer depending on how my skin is looking. The shade range is kind of limited which is my only real complaint. I have fair-light skin with warm undertones and neither porcelain nor buff really suit me, but it’s neutral in tone enough that with a concealer that suits my skin tone I can make it work well.

I would say that the shades run darker than reflected on the site. I don’t think that porcelain is as light as it appears online. During the summer porcelain doesn’t run warm enough and during the winter it isn’t pale enough.

Buff works for my warmer, darker summer skin tone, but it’s still a little too dark. For the price and coverage though I don’t mind because I use concealer to cover redness and imperfections anyways.

I don’t like to order things online, but this foundation isn’t carried at any stores near me any more so I order it online and have stocked up on a few bottles because it is seriously that good. It’s a good product, and not even just for the price, it’s just good and you get almost 2 oz of product! I hope this is never discontinued!.

I no longer use this foundation but have in the past. I feel like it’s best for dry skin as it’s a little oily. I also had quite a bit of separation on places such as my nose t-zone. It’s what I would describe as “cake face”.

However it is the full coverage I like. I’d just rather use something less heavy.

If you want an EXTREMELY full coverage make up that blends and covers smoothly. This is the foundation for you. It offers wrinkle and firming properties as well while wearing. Been using this foundation since I was 15 and will always recommend this to anyone.

This foundation is okay. It’s heavy on the face and is cakey, but it does have good coverage. The lightest shade is to dark for me though. I don’t really recommend

Seriously my perfect foundation. I get little red spots on my face from blemishes now and then, and when I apply this foundation my skin looks nearly airbrushed. It looks 90% as good at the end of the day than it does immediately after application.

I’m so impressed with it. I purchased in mid-summer 2021, and I’m just about running out. Came to order it again and found it is being discontinued!! Would really love if bareminerals kept this product going.

I have used this and one other foundation as my staples since high school. I have ridiculously finicky skin even to this day, where if I skip this step I’ll wake up with a little break out. I love that it’s super lightweight, provides pretty good coverage, and of course the absolute best part it contains salicylic acid, which helps clear and heal acne blemishes while preventing future breakouts.

That’s truly all I’m asking for and this does an amazing job that I can always rely on.

This liquid foundation from Almay is a great everyday go to product. It provides light to medium coverage as it allows layering to build to your desired coverage level. I found it to do a great job of evening out my skin tone, minimizing the appearance of my pores, and concealing small blemishes or irritation.

I found that I did need to use a fair amount of the product to get an even blend with adequate coverage. Keep in mind that it is definitely not a full coverage foundation. With the changing seasons I have found my skin to be quite dry and this product helped to keep it moisturized throughout the day as opposed to drying it out even more (which was especially surprising for me considering that it contains salicylic acid).

I love that this foundation works to fight blemishes and breakouts as that is typically one of my biggest drawbacks from using liquid foundation. My favourite quality of this product though is the matte finish.

I often find that liquid foundations leave me looking quite greasy looking or become greasy looking partway through the day. This was not the case at all. While I did find that the coverage level seemed to wear off throughout the day, looking greasy was never a concern.

It easily washed off at the end of the day and I did not find it to have a smell and it did not bother my skin in anyway. I now have a new easily accessible product to add to my make-up bag!*Please note that I received this product for free in exchange for me honest review.

This is one of my favorite foundations, and certainly one of the best that I have tried, and believe me I have tried a lot! This has great coverage, yes but it makes your skin look luminous without looking greasy or oily.

I wore it to a picnic a few weeks ago and my sister said what are you wearing? It is gorgeous!!! SO now she is going to try it. I also love the instructions as well as the brush-which I think is key to a flawless, perfect application.

You also need very little,so this will last a good long time. It also lasts all day requiring no touch ups! I do put a little of a finishing powder over it as I have combination skin, and an oily t zone.

I would love to see Eve Pearl on QVC a little more often. She teaches when she is on and you learn a lot about application as well. Thanks for offering her products-They are phenomenal!.

I have used Eve Pearl’s ‘salmon’ concealer for ages and it really is good. I bought this HD foundation and it is excellent quality but will return it for a lighter color exchange. The medium is a full medium and I have brunette hair /(fighting gray) in the cool range.

And the Fair will be a better choice. But it really is decent make up and fairly priced for what it is. A little goes a long way. Depending on your preference and needed coverage, you can just dot the foundation where you need it that day, you can blend with fingers or a brush.

(I use a certain color stick for cheeks and lips etc. that is not sold on QVC. ) But this is a great product for when your skin just looks exhausted or is dried out from all of the weather or the stress that seems to be on everyone’s faces these days.

I recently bought this because now that i can show my face in public again (no masks!) I needed something to cover the dark spots i’ve accumulated on my face from working in the sun. i like that i can blend them and that the foundation is nice and creamy.

It works a lot better if you moisturize your face with good cream before putting on the foundation. Now the spots are barely visible and my skin looks much smoother overall!! I like this foundation.

Everything I receive my bottles they do not spray( defective) I’m lucky if I can get one or two uses out of this expensive bottle of make up. It is very aggravating when your trying to get ready for work or an outing and the make up don’t work.

When I call they tell me to soak it warm water that usually does not resolve the issue and I’ve tried replacing the nozzles as well. I stopped ordering the product because of this and after a year I decided to give it another try because the make up looks great when you can get it to spray.

I received my bottle today and got a half of spray out of the bottle and now its not working again. So aggravated!!!!.

I tried this foundation based in the recommendation of a professional makeup artist. I absolutely love how easy it is to apply and manage. It provides a full coverage without seeming to. I have more mature skin and this foundation does not cake, fill into lines and lasts until you take it off.

Use a little amount to just run errands or go to the gym. Use more for a professionally done look fit for a glamourous event.

This has been my go to foundation for 10 years. I use R4 when I’m spray tanned and R2 when I’m lighter. It’s medium coverage. Definitely can apply lightly for a light coverage.

I was recommended this a number of years ago by my doctor after having plexr on my eyelids due to a medical condition. I was told the treatment would leave small pigmentation marks and that the Vichy Dermablend corrective foundation would cover it.

After receiving a small sample for my eyelids and seeing the amazing coverage, I went out and bought myself a full size product for the rest of my face which I have been using on and off for a number of years when I’m in need of full coverage.

It is light to wear and doesnt cause any irritation. The coverage is absolutely amazing and I can even use it to cover a small tattoo when I need to (just set it with a little powder). Overall this is a fantastic product.

Okay so I bought this to replace the discontinued Rainforest of the Sea foundation (RIP) that I used every single day. I have dry skin and prefer a foundation that feels light and has buildable coverage if I need it.

I figured this would be a decent replacement since it’s another Tarte medium coverage foundation for dry skin. It’s not quite that. This foundation seems to have more coverage than RotS so a little goes a long way.

There is more of a dewy finish (which I like), but the cons are definitely the packaging and how transferable this seems to be. I loved the RotS packaging cause it could easily get as much as I needed and not waste product.

This pump packaging is more wasteful and a pain to use. And so far I’ve noticed that it doesn’t dry fully on my face. I touch my face a lot, so it’s really noticeable to me. Overall I think it’s a decent foundation but it’s not the perfect replacement for Rainforest of the Sea fans sadly.

I’ve had this sitting in rotation with a couple of other foundations that I like. I have the Armani Luminous Silk, Make Up Forever Reboot, and the Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation that all kind of serve the same purpose for me.

I have dry skin for the most part and I don’t require too much coverage. I don’t like heavy feeling makeup. I live in a pretty dry climate in Southern California so I don’t have an issue with humidity and foundations battling the elements.

If you enjoy any of the other foundations I’ve listed I think you’d enjoy this one. It actually has more coverage than the Make Up Forever and Koh Gen Do. A little goes a long way. Also, as a dry skin hack I still always add just a drop of Josie Maran’s Argan oil to most of my foundations for added hydration and sheerness when applying.

Give it a try I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

This is the best foundation out there if you’re looking for a medium coverage. I was looking for something that wasn’t cakey, thick, or matte but still provided decent coverage. I was told for years that it was impossible to find a good coverage but not cakey or matte foundation.

I wanted something that could help me get a dewy finish, even out skin tone and stay on all day and this is it! I ran out this last month and had to buy a cheaper (but not cheap) foundation until I could get more and oh boy!!! I saw such a huge difference in my skin even after I took my makeup off (not good).

I was able to see the difference foundcealer makes with helping my skin while I wear it! People noticed a difference in my skin with and without makeup on while I went a few weeks without foundcealer.

I get compliments on my skin with and without makeup normally. I am big on skin care but I’ve noticed foundcealer played a part in my skincare for sure when I wasn’t able to use it.
