20 Best Formula For Milk Allergy (2023 Updated)

My Grandaughter is allergic to all formulas and breast milk. My daughter eliminated all dairy and soy but little Ari would vomit everything up and was loosing weight. This is the only formula that she can tolerate.

As you can see, it’s quite expensive. I’m retired on a fixed income but I try helping out as much as I can. Who can afford between $600 and $800 a month and she is only 6 months old. As she gets older, that price will go up.

The insurance company said that they would only cover it if she was fed with a tube, yet cannot survive without it. Does anyone know how to get assistance to pay for this?.

Prior to trying Neocate, my daughter tried Similac Advance Early Shield, Enfamil Lipil Gold, Enfamil Gentlease, Enfamil Prosobee, Alimentum, and Nestle Goodstart. After trying all of those formulas and unsuccesfully trying to breastfeed my daughter, we were desperate.

Her Pediatrician sent us to a GI since she wasn’t sure what else to try. Her GI said that even though she didn’t have blood in her stools, she appeared to have both a milk and soy protein allergy. She had horrible ezcema which covered her face and arms.

He said it was likely the result of her allergy. He told us to try Neocate but that we needed to give it a full two weeks to know if it was helping. It wasn’t an overnight solution like I had hoped, but by the end of the two week trial, my daughter was a completely different baby.

Prior to trying Neocate, she would scream in pain with each feeding and began to refuse feedings altogether. Since she’s been on Neocate, her ezcema is under control, her refulx has improved and she’s a happier baby altogether.

It is, however, outrageously expensive and if it weren’t for a state law which forces my insurance to cover the cost of the formula, I would not be able to afford to keep my daughter on it. It is also difficult to find.

It is not carried in stores, so you have to order it either online, or have your local pharmacy order it. If your insurance covers it, or if you can afford to pay for it out of pocket, I highly reccommend trying Neocate!.

Let me start with saying that this formula saved my little one. After a month of breastfeeding, i happened to notice blood in his poop and red spots all over his tummy. It all happened at 3 in the morning and I was all alone with the baby because my husband was away for work.

It was so terrifying to me as I was a new first time mother. Called his pediatrician and she said to put him on enfamil nutramigen or similac alimentum. I bought Similac Alimentum at a local drug store and within few hours his poop was normal and the red spots went away.

Hes been on it ever since and he seems to love it. I felt so guilty for a long time not being able to breast feed him but happy healthy baby is the most important!.

If you’re considering this formula, try it! We went through 4 or 5 different formulas till we landed on this one. Nothing was helping our little guys reflux and the occasional vomiting. Sitting up for 30 minutes after a bottle, paced feeding, slow nipple, formula changes, bottle changes, nothing was working for us.

Our pediatrician recommended this before we move towards medication and I’m so glad we tried it! His vomiting stopped completely, and he only spits up on occasion, he seems to actually enjoy his bottles now.

No constipation issues either! It may not be the right formula for every baby, but it has worked wonders for us.

Wow!! This formula doesn’t have Casein, one of the two milk proteins. Casein is hard to digest, and my baby could not tolerate any other dairy formula since they all contain “Nonfat Milk” in the ingredients, which includes Casein.

She would constantly need to burp and spit up way too much. She also threw up soy formula so that wasn’t an option either. I’m so glad I found this formula that has only the whey protein of milk which is easier for babies to digest.

My baby now burps only once or twice after a feeding and spits up only a bit like a regular baby. I feel like I finally have a normal baby who can be happy when she is not hungry or tired! And I can finally get to bed at a normal hour, since she settles down much faster!!.

This formula has been working really well for my baby. She has a very severe milk protein allergy and we tried multiple formulas before this one, she was miserable before and is a whole new baby now.

My only frustration is the worry that comes with getting the formula as it is frequently out of stock and hard to find anywhere but on this site.

My son uses this formula. Due to his heart condition, he has difficulty eating. This has helped him be able to gain weight and get calories that his body needs. He has to have it given through his feeding tube.

The taste does not seem appealing, but he has grown so much since being on this formula.

My baby recently got diagnosed with a milk allergy so we had to stop using the enfamil gentlease neuropro product. We contacted enfamil and they were able to stop our old formula order and help us get some of this formula after we used it from a local grocery store.

Enfamil representatives are so helpful and provide wonderful customer service. They have been so accommodating with our daughters issue and having to change formulas. This formula has been great since we started it last night she’s been feeling so much better.

She’s eating better and her stomach is not upset. Thanks to enfamil this process has been incredibly smooth.

My baby has always been on the Enfamil Gentlease. Recently, gas and spitting up has been a major issue so his doctor recommended this soy formula in case he was developing an allergy to the milk protein in the Gentlease.

I myself am lactose intolerant and was on soy formula as a baby and must drink soy milk today. So I bought the ready made liquid bottle of the soy and gave it a try. He took it and did very well, no gas, no spitting up, no crying due to stomach issues.

until he didn’t poop. Which he always poops once a day and it’s the same consistency every time. After two days on the soy formula, he screamed like I have never heard a baby scream for hours on end and he pushed and grunted trying to poop until he was purple in the face.

He managed to pass a very small, rock hard stool that was basically a pebble. This continued for an entire day until I started giving him the Gentlease again. He finally cleared the constipation later and was able to go normally again.

I would not have even tried this product if I would’ve known the consequences. Close friends with babies have told me that the same thing happened to their babies when they tried the soy formula. Sadly, it seemed to work until it didn’t.

My babys been on a bit of a journey with feeding. Hes 3 months old. My plan the whole pregnancy was breastfeeding immediately and exclusively if possible. Well my little boy came out with dangerously low blood sugar and they had to give him a bottle right away because he wasnt latching fast enough.

My baby had issues and ended up needing to go to the NICU after day 3 of his life. He stayed there for an entire month. I was only able to feed him pumped milk, I wasnt able to breastfeed as they were worried it would irritate him further with the issues he had.

I dont know if the nurses were right about that, but either way I did not have a chance to try to breastfeed my son until he was one month old. Pumping is extremely hard for me. He was mostly eating what the hospital was giving him.

Similac pro sensitive. The hospital recommended this to me to feed him along with breast milk. By the time he came home my milk production was not great. And baby did not understand how to breastfeed.

At first he breastfed a bit here and there. I tried as hard as I possibly could. But he has colic and is irritable already and now whenever I try to breastfeed him he screams and cries or just licks my nipple and turns away.

I had to formula feed. Thank god I did some research because I learned Enfamil is the only leading brand with enough DHA in it ! Similac barely has any in it! This is unbelievable to me that hospitals reccomend it! I tried gentle ease at first for a long time.

It was good but he still had terrible colic. Also I always wanted to raise my son vegan until he is old enough to choose for himself. So when I say there is a soy Enfamil I was so happy. It helped his conspitation and gas A LOT.

hes doing the best hes been with his gas and conspitation with prosobee! And I feel happy knowing it has enough DHA and it doesnt have milk in it.

I don’t usually write reviews. I read a lot, but don’t write a lot. However, I’m very passionate about formula feeding, so I hope this review helps someone who’s looking to purchase this specific brand.

Let me start off by saying, this is a great substitute for Similac Alimentum and Nutramigen. My son was on Alimentum up until 11 months and then *boo you Similac* (recall). We switched to this formula because other than Nutramigen, there is no other powder formula that’s similar to Alimentum.

Also, this is clearly cheaper (win!!!). I’m a huge fan of off brand formula. I didn’t notice any hesitation by son to guzzle this down, so it must be similar in taste as well! But, y’all. This formula DOES NOT mix well.

You cannot just put this in a bottle and shake/mix it up. The formula doesn’t dissolve, it sticks to the sides of the bottle/inside bottle parts, and chunks immediately sink to the bottom or float to the top.

You will literally mix this until your wrists are SCREAMING, and it still won’t be mixed completely. If you are going to use this formula, I HIGHLY suggest buy a Dr. Brown’s formula pitcher. Personally, I think all formula feeding families should have one, but especially if you’re using this brand.

You will still have to mix it in the pitcher for much longer than other brands, but it will eventually mix and get rid of all the clumps of formula. Would I purchase this again for future babies? ABSOLUTELY! It’s a great price for a very specific type of formula.

Don’t let it’s inability to not mix as well as other brands scare you. But don’t let it shock you either… I mean, I did leave this review ;).

At first I was so happy to have found this formula. Cost efficient compared similac Alimentum. We switched because of the powder recall with Alimentum and I could not find it anywhere on the shelves or online in-stock and was desperate for formula as I had been searching for a week.

He drank it no problems , and seemed to be adjusting fine, regular poops and all. It’s been 2 weeks but the spit up with this formula is horrible. If your baby struggles with acid reflux it may be something to think about.

The spit up is way more significant to this formula and I mean 6-10 times a day vs 2-4 on Alimentum. He had colic but we thought he was outgrowing it until recently , the spit up causes severe acid reflux which is a huge contributor to his colic.

Overall a great value and product, but not the perfect fit for our baby. 3 stars, does not mix at all by hand but mixes better in brezza than alemintum. The Acidity in this one might be higher than alimentum or might reflect nutramagen ingredients.

I love that Target has an alternative which is less expensive than the Similac version. My friend had tried several formulas before finding this one. Her baby seems to love the taste more. It’s hypoallergenic for babies who have a cows milk allergy.

Since switching to this her baby is not colic any longer, not gassy, the rash has finally went away that was on the babies face chin and torso. The only con to this formula is it doesn’t mix as well as other brands.

By using warm water it seems to help, and if there’s any bubbles of formula you can use a fork to mix. she mixes several bottles for him prior to night time, so it’s not inconvenient. Simply put the bottle into a glass of warm water and it’s good to go.

I certainly do recommend giving this a try! It alleviates colic, and has probiotics to help support digestive health and DHA for brain support Also there’s no artificial growth hormones! FUN FACT — Corn Syrup Solids are not the same ingredient as High Fructose Corn Syrup!.

Perfect for our little one. She was colicky and had a rash on her face spreading down her torso. We were supplementing breast milk with gentlease since we left the hospital. Once I stopped producing breast milk at 3 weeks her rash worsened, looked less like baby acne and more like eczema.

Gave the gentle ease a good 6 weeks before switching to this formula. I researched the types of formula. I went ahead and tried this one instead of switching to different “gentle” brands that have different amounts of lactose and whey protein.

etc. Within 12-24 hours her rash started improving. After 24 hours she started sleeping between feedings. Before she had a lot of inconsolable crying. We now have a routine down, now that’s she’s sleeping.

Her stools are more regular. She was only pooping once every 24-36 hrs before this formula. It’s possible that her gut is maturing as well. We did start the formula between 6-8 weeks old. Either way.

It has improved everything. After 1 week her rash is completely gone. We are very happy parents. The formula is super clumpy if your shaking your bottles. We use dr browns pitcher, works great, no clumps in the milk.

I received this as a complimentary to test. This is 100% my own review and opinion. This upup hypoallergenic infant baby formula powder with iron is a really good and nutritional baby formula. It really is good for babies that have very sensitive stomachs.

There hasn’t been any issues or problems since it has been used. Sometimes you need to shake the bottle for a couple minutes and shake it a little harder than usual and that will help with the chunks that are left if you don’t shake it a little longer.

This formula really helps those sensitive stomachs. I really like the ingredients in this formula and it supports your baby’s immunity. I definitely will be purchasing this baby formula again. I highly recommend this formula to everyone.
