As first time parents we trusted our nurses when they gave my baby Similac as his second feed. I always knew something was wrong with how uncomfortable and gassy my baby was at night time. His poop also seemed runny and much more frequent than all other babies.

We changed to Pro-sensitive sent to us by Similac (which we later found out was part of the recall) and that made our baby even worse. Finally, while looking for Similac during the shortage I stumbled upon Gerber and our baby has been a completely different baby since.

He is happy, rarely ever gassy, sleeps through the night. For mamas who are struggling with gas and grumpy baby at night know that its not normal and you should consider other options. I also dont appreciate how casual Similac was about the recall.

I do not recommend similac to other moms at all.

Do not use anything from this brand. I used it for my first child and it was all okay but My second baby was on 95% breastmilk mostly for the first 6 months of his life and was given Similac Pro health or Total comfort once a day or once every other day.

His poop on the day when he wasn’t taking formula was yellow but the day he would have the formula he would do a greensih black poop for the entire day even if he would just drink a few oz of formula.

I asked the doctor and she didn’t make it a big deal. However, one day he started to throw up the entire bottle after 2-4 hrs of being fed and burped. It kept on gojng for 2 days and on the 3rd day I changed him to Enfamil.

You guys, his poops were like a normal yellow baby poop and he is doing just fine since. No black poops anymore!!! And Right after I switched I saw the recalls on this brand.

I was forced to fusion feed my baby right from the start. I did months of research just to be proactive and originally chose to bring a can of this formula with me in my hospital bag just in case. Upon finding out I needed more caloric intake for my NICU baby I was told I couldn’t feed it the enfamil product as the hospital had a contract with Similac.

Fast forward almost 11 months later and lots of vomiting from my premature guy and recalled formula, I threw my hands up and went back to my first choice. Mama’s know best right? For once I felt like I was making a positive choice to switch my baby and after hours and now months of no more vomiting I’m beyond happy to say I made the right decision! Not only is it comforting that he in addition to what breastmilk I can give him is now getting even more positive nutrients from his new formula but his belly is happy and healthy and he is growing big and strong everyday.

Formula is one of those things that’s hard to know if all the good stuff you’re paying extra for is really working. But after a few weeks of using enspire, I have continued to purchase it and plan to until baby turns 1.

To try to justify “splurging” on formula, this is my first baby, he had breastmilk only for the first 6 months. When beginning to supplement, I used 2 sample products from the pediatrician’s office, ready to use Enfamil NeuroPro (the yellow one) and powder Similac the silver and purple ones.

Then I decided to buy enspire after searching for the best, closest to breastmilk formula out there. My baby has always had a decent amount of spit up, and that still happened with other formulas, but I have noticed less spit up since buying enspire.

Practically no spit up now that he’s been using enspire for over a month, but him growing older could also account for that. Baby has no issues with bowel movements while using enspire, but he never really did with other formulas either.

The most notable difference between enspire and the other popular brand of formula, is that enspire dissolves easily, almost instantly. Does still foam up, but it’s not bad and it settles quickly.

My baby does well with it and she seems to like it more than other enfamil formulas. There is a gentle version of this Enspire HOWEVER does contain CORN SYRUP. Some cons of this formula: WIC doesn’t cover it, it is NOT organic and it’s kind of pricey.

We have infant twins, who have been on Alimentum from 6 weeks until the recall (at around 6 months). After trying other brands and still not settling well with either babies, we finally researched the ingredients for Walmart’s Parent’s Choice Hypoallergenic Formula vs Alimentum.

It is a perfect match for our twins. The ingredients are almost the exact same, few flipped in order, but all in all the same. This formula really settled well with both of their tummies from the start.

No issues with the transition like other brands that are supposed to be similar to Alimentum. I would recommend this as an alternative and wish we would have been on this formula from the beginning. We have been on the Walmart’s Parent’s Choice Hypoallergenic Formula for 2 months now and it is a perfect fit.

My baby doesn’t have colic. Just allergic to cow’s milk. So the doctor recommended Similac Alimentum and for a cheaper version we tried this. This and the Similac are the ONLY two formulas out there that she can drink.

No spit ups, no hard stools, and no constipation. No clue why but if you use a little colder water, the formula will leave some chunks you just got to shake really good to get rid of. The worst part is how it stinks! Her breath will stink, her drool, which turns into smelly necks and clothes.

And because there’s only two dairy free formulas that work for most babies means less formula in stock at the store. And the downside is how expensive this formula is compared to milk based.

So glad our pediatric gastroenterologist gave us a sample of this to try. Our son would scream and refuse 2 other formulas given to us in the hospital for up to 12 hours before giving in. Alfamino helped us sleep! Dairy and soy allergies are very serious! We knew if our physician recommended this, we could trust it would’ve safe to use.

We supplemented breastmilk with this until he turned 12 months old with no more frightening hospitalizations.

I breastfed my son from birth, when we started trying him with solids around 4 months old he became badly constipated, as the days went by it became worse. We were bottle feeding him with breast milk as I am getting ready to go back to work.

I read online about this product being good and decided to give it a go, he had breast and the comfort formula and his usual baby food for the past week and he’s had no issues passing his stool. Really impressed and glad we gave it a go… highly recommend this product!.

Have to unfortunately agree with other parents, stomach ache and watery stools since the new formula. It was fine with the old one. After 14 days still no change. We will wait for one more week if nothing changes will have to switch to another brand.

We were very disappointment by this milk powder. Our son has developed a lactose intolerance, but is still under a year old, so needs the odd bottle of milk. We used Aptamil as it was the only lactose intolerant solution sold by Waitrose, however it made feeding much much harder.

We noticed that the powder settled on top of the water in the bottle, not be disolved by it, and then once mixed, would form clumps in the water, which would then not filter through the teat. Our son really struggled to feed.

We eventually threw the remaining half a can away and will not use again. We eventually bought SMA Lactose Free Formula, which works much better.

I have used this formula for all four of my kids (since 2014). It’s easy to mix with water and pour into bottles. It comes w a little, yellow, long-handled plastic scoop inside. That being said, you do have to really shake it up to get all the clumps out.

My last baby has had feeding issues, so we mix this in a high concentration mixture (per her doctor) to give her more calories and fat. I can say that since 2014, they have maintained the quality and consistency of this product.

We have never had issues with the formula itself. The only issues we have had were since we moved to Colorado. The high elevation changes the pressure in the can. It occasionally goes everywhere when we open it.

If this is you as well, open carefully to a valid a mess.

I didn’t have enough milk supply for my son and needed to supplement. I tried a few other organic brands (including goat based) of formula and they all made him gassy and colicky. If I didn’t give him formula he was crying because he was hungry and if I gave him formula he was writhing with discomfort.

The product was fine. My oldest daughter had to be on allimentum and it was really a big difference switching her over to it. She had cmpi which is a cows milk protein intolerance so she couldn’t handle other formulas.

With having to cut dairy and soy from her diet, this was the only thing she could drink. That being said, I HATED PAYING FOR THIS. It’s $40 a container and she went through 2 every 8 days. We did the math and with out coupons and the occasional free container we were gifted from family or the pediatrician samples, we spent $4160 on formula for the first year of her life.

We are a pretty well off family, we’re not rich by any means but we live comfortably and have savings and whatnot so we are lucky that we didn’t have an issue paying for it but it still hurt. I would do everything I could to get the price match guarantee or get coupons or buy $100 worth of diapers at target so I could get a $10 gift card that I would use only on formula because it’s so expensive.

Being new parents and living off on one income and having to spend this much on formula, was so stressful. We would scrape the bottom of the container and get every last speck of powder just so we wouldn’t waste it.

My youngest daughter was able to use target brand sensitive tummies thank goodness, because with inflation, we would see the impact of that. Going from $80 every 8 days to $20 a week was so nice. Even though I do recommend this product, if your baby needs this, look in to dairy free donor milk.

I bet it would be the same price and it’s breast milk.

After finding out that my baby was lactose intolerant, our doctor recommended we try this. It worked wonders! It was one of the only formulas that only worked for her. No more gassy, constipation, or fussing.

She doesn’t spit it up. She never leaves a drop behind. A little on the high end price side, but worth it for a lactose intolerant baby. The one down side is how smelly it is. Her breathe smells, neck, anywhere the formula touches it smells like stinky feet.

We went through about 4-5 different formulas before ending up on Alimentum but I’m so glad we finally found a formula that works for him. Ever since he was born he had chronic congestion and silent reflux.

We assumed his congestion was due to his reflux but after a particularly bad night of spit up and struggling to breath I grabbed my sample of this can and made him some bottles. By the third bottle of the day his congestion completely cleared up and reflux reduced and we no longer had a painfully gassy baby.

The drawback is the smell and taste (not to mention the price!).

This is by far the best formula on the market all the milk based ones had her throwing up and fussy as hell!!! If you are having trouble with formula switch to this I promise u won’t regret it. if she does get constipated which is better then screaming her head off from other formulas just a little prune juice an your good to go.

Highly recommend!!! Save yourself the issues an just get this one. I went through so many an idk how they sell some of the formulas on the market. its craziness. If you can’t afford the similac brand i think there’s a cheaper version and it works the same.

This is honestly the only thing my daughter can take. I used to be on similac sensitive and regular similac however she became extremely gassy and it was hard for her to pass gas. We didnt know she was sensitive to the milk proteins until later.

We gave soy a try, and ever since it is the ONLY thing we buy her. She is a happy baby now and we have no problem at all with this formula. We are very pleased and happy parents. Thanks similac !.

Thankful for this formula for my child who has liver disease. It’s easier to absorb and has added mct oil for fat. It’s recommended by his gastroenterologist to help optimize his nutrition. It was an easy transition from breastfeeding to combining formula and breast milk.

Our 10 month old has recently been diagnosed as failure to thrive and even more heart wrenching our darling has unknown allergies. With the copious medical tests our sweetie is undergoing we also had to switch formulas.

THAT was the biggest challenge! This is the only known allergen free formula the cutie will take and while it matters well be gold plated for the cost it really has been a true lifesaver for all of us.

My baby was not gaining weight after birth on any formula and he was having continuous diarrhea. We were so worried as he was getting weaker and was not able to latch. Those were the most difficult days of my life as my baby is very precious.

I had my sweet precious boy after 5 miscarriages. He was born with spina bifida and we though diarrhea could be because of this underlying condition. Finally doctors sent his stool for fat content test and it came back positive.

Doctors started him on progestimil and he started gaining few grams everyday. I’m so thankful for this formula, can’t emphasize how much. We are back home from hospital and he is active and growing every day.

My daughter struggled with American formulas and would not take to hypoallergenic formula from my doctor. And to be fair it taste awful, my husband and I tried it for ourselves lol A friend turned me onto the hipp formula brand and I took a chance with acid reflux formula and bought it in bulk right before the holidays as we were going to be taking her first trip away from her over a long weekend.

I was worried I did not have a large enough breast milk storage as she had recently started eating more. We started with 2 ounces of formula a day for a few days to acclimate her as I have been on a very strict dairy free/lay free/egg free diet to help with sensitivities she had from the get go.

We did notice a bit of gas but no extreme discomfort in that first few days so we kept moving forward. We bumped it up to a 4 ounce bottle and then by the time we left for our trip, which was a week later, she was taking up to two 4 ounce bottles a day to supplement.

We did the bottles in the evening and it really helped her start sleeping through the night. Overall, we’re huge fans and have continued to supplement with the formula daily to help with her reflux and give me a bit of a break as well.

I breastfeed my daughter, but I also have to supplement a couple times a day with formula. My daughter has a very sensitive digestive system and there just aren’t any options over here in the US that aren’t filled with corn syrup and other low quality ingredients.

The formulas our pediatrician suggested only made my baby’s stomach upset. I wanted something organic with high quality ingredients and hypoallergenic. That’s why I decided to purchase the HIPP hypoallergenic formula.

Thankfully I was able to find a company that can send it to the US! This stuff has been easy for her to digest and she has not been fussy at all. I am so happy that we were able to find something that works for her.

Shipping took a little long, but that was expected considering its coming from the Netherlands. I do wish the shipping wasn’t so expensive because the formula itself is already a little pricey. No big deal though.

Hospital srarted giving this to my baby right after birth. I find this to be easily mixing with water and pretty light with no much odour to it. My daughter likes it. I tried to switch to an organic one.

It was more thick, hard to mix and bit different smell and we came back to Nan.

Used this for my now 3 yr old and had no issues, so did the same with my now 5mo. Was disappointed to see they had changed to formulation and my Bub hated it! I had a sip and spat it out; it tastes horribly metallic! Even my niece, who was drinking this rejected it after they changed the mixture!.

I breastfed my first two children, now 4 and 5 years old, and supplemented them both with Happy Baby Stage 1 until they were a little past 1 year old as after so much research, this was the closest and cleanest to breastmilk I could find in US.

We had no issues, they loved it so much it was hard introducing regular milk as they still wanted formula. The formula itself is easy to mix, it does have a bit of a strong smell, but the formula is not for me to enjoy, my baby liking it and benefiting from it is what I’m looking for.

It’s important to follow the directions and swirl, not shake when mixing, if I ever did get any bubbles to form, I would let it sit for a minute or two or gently flip bottle upside down to get bubbles to go away, no problem.

Fast forward to today, I’m now supplementing with this same formula for my 2 month old and again thankful to say, no problems. It may not work for everyone, but I’m so happy it’s worked for all 3 of my HAPPY BABY’S 😊.
