Best Format To Rip Dvd (2024 Updated)

I have the Blu-ray set of this. If you’re a fan of what The Beatles accomplished as a group or individually, this is a must-see documentary. During a four-week period in February 1969, they sequestered themselves in two locations to set about writing and recording all the new songs for their ‘Let It Be’ album.

You see some of their greatest work materialize out of thin air. A melody here. a phrase there. missing words filled in. then changed to something better. A word to Ringo-only fans: though a constant presence throughout, he hardly says a word! You’ll be amazed at how quiet he is.

You’ll definitely enjoy watching ‘Maxwell’s Silver Hammer’ being created. The Blu-ray version was pristine, probably the best documentary imagery I’ve seen from that period of time. I was in awe of its color, clarity, beauty and sound.

And after more than seven fascinating hours (in my case, viewed across 3 nights), you’re treated to their final LIVE performance. alone worth the price of the entire set. Seeing them totally rock out as a group had me smiling and in awe throughout that performance.

Thank you, Peter Jackson, for all you and your team did to bring us this amazing treat!.

I believe at this point all has been said or written about Get Back. I would say if you are a Beatles fan or someone studying the history of music this is a must watch. We have no film or Bach, Beethoven, Vivaldi , Puccini and numerous others.

This film at the least shows the two most important songwriters of the last 70 years working on songs popular then and for years to come. The importance of viewings this is how they took popular music and at least in their career made it something to see for the first time as serious art.

Another story line is how someone George can be surpressed for years but through hard work and dedication he emerges as a talent on par with John and Paul and a worrisome problem at that. And finally it is about friendship and how true friendship survives through all life throws at us.

What can I say? If you’re a Beatles fan, you’ll love this DVD. I certainty did. It dispelled a lot of rumors I’d heard about the Let It Be sessions. It seems totally honest and, for me, was quite uplifting.

As for the disc’s themselves, the 1st two parts played flawlessly. The 3rd showed some breaking up and sound issues during the rooftop concert. However, this may be due to my player needing a cleaning.

Your experience may vary. All in all, a very enjoyable look at the best band ever creating some memorable music. A.

Over the years I have burnt over a 1000 DVD’s, Blu-rays & M Discs using Verbatim blanks. When I started having failures with a 100-pk spindle I decided to contact the Verbatim Tech Support and test the Limited Lifetime Warranty printed on their label.

I explained the problem that I was getting a ERROR warning when I tried to burn some of the blanks and that after checking discs that had been burnt was finding that many of them would play for a while, stall and sometimes resume playing before freezing.

I was having to check every burnt disc. Out of 50 discs I had 24 failures. To make sure the problem wasn’t with my burner my brother provided me with 10 blank Verbatim discs and then all worked just fine.

I was told that I needed a receipt. [Sent them a copy of my B&H sales receipt]; Then I was told that in order to proceed they needed to know how many failed discs. [I gave them this information] Then they requested a photograph of the failed discs which I provided.

That’s where it ended. Now they don’t even respond when I asked what is next. It seems to me that if 24 out 50 discs fail that as a Tech Support I would be interested in checking out the batch of discs that they came from.

So have I stopped using Verbatim blanks? NO! They have been very reliable and I have had very few failures until this happened. But I am very disappointed in Verbatim’s so called Tech Support.

Before I ordered this DVD-R 100 pk spindle I shopped around and read reviews. one caught my eye, complaining about the packaging (or lack thereof) for a similar 100 pk spindle, albeit different brand.

Well I have to say my experience was equally disappointing, even though I used the ship-to-store option in hopes that it might somehow be safer. turns out it wasn’t. I don’t know if Walmart or UPS is to blame, or both, but let’s just say their methods are not up to par.

First of all the box used was too big for the product, so you would think they might use foam packing peanuts to fill the space. nope. They used two of those clear air packs, which wouldn’t have been sufficient even if one of them hadn’t gone flat.

By the time I received the product one of the plastic container’s locking grips at the bottom had broken off completely, the box had been thrown around so much the three small white circular space fillers at the top of the spindle had all somehow rattled off of the spindle altogether, and I was lucky not to find a box full of loose dvd’s.

Oh, did I mention that the top couple of dvd’s were badly scratched to boot? Verbatim DVD’s are great. My review is not of them, it’s of WalMart/UPS, which apparently fail miserably, repeatedly. I recommend Verbatim DVD’s, but I strongly suggest you go about obtaining them via another method, from another supply store completely.

I have been burning data to DVD for many years and have 750 of them. It is getting more difficult to purchase blank DVDs but the quality of these DVDs is the worst I’ve ever experienced. I’ve used about half of them (purchased 100) so far and am getting a 40% failure rate.

Not only does it waste the DVD but it wastes time burning it only to find it is not readable. Do NOT purchase these DVDs!.

Wow. It’s been about five years since I last watched the original Saw film. I forgot just how good it truly is. It’s a real shame that James Wan’s incredible directorial debut is often remembered by the public as nothing more than a gory torture-porn film.

This couldn’t be further from the truth. While many of the sequels certainly began to simply revel in the gory effects, the original film is a tight, fast-paced mystery thriller. There’s some bloody sequences, but it’s nowhere near as gory as it’s often thought to be.

An airtight script by Leigh Whannell paired with James Wan’s incredible directorial ability keeps several interweaving storylines following quickly and seamlessly. The entire time, I was glued to the screen and, man, the expert orchestration of each twist still impresses after multiple viewings.

If you’ve avoided Saw because you think it has no depth, or if you don’t want to revisit it due to sequels dampening your memory of it, you’re missing out. This movie is an absolute essential. (This review is based on the unrated cut of the film.

Saw isn’t the hardcore gore-shocker you may be imagining. But make no mistake, this movie will have you in its terrifying grip from the beginning, and by the end the suspense will have you sticking to the ceiling.

What happens leads to the most mind-blowing movie ending I can remember. The Real Scoop: This movie is as much for movie fans as it is for horror fans. The R rating keeps it within the spectrum of images that most people can handle.

In other words, if you are like I was, afraid that the gore would simply be too sick and not worth watching, you’ll probably discover otherwise. The suspense is far more intense than the gore. Also, contrary to what I believed about the movie before I saw it, the room that Gordon and Adam are locked in is not the only location visited.

Saw is a superbly crafted thriller with meaningful and human dialog and story elements. It’s no mindless slasher, nor is it an empty exploration of torture and killing. An actual story is unfolding with every minute of screen time.

It’s one of the most original and interesting movies to come along in a very long time, and it’s genuinely scary. And heck, as all good art should, it even affirms life. Jigsaw’s presence and the implications of his malice are felt throughout the movie, though we see very little of him.

The writers have done a fantastic job of creating a terrifying killer, and an original character. Jigsaw’s plots are interesting as they pit ordinary people against themselves, their fears, and against each other.

Everything hinges on the cruel reality he has placed in front of his victims: “Make your choice: live or die. ” Simplicity is everything in Saw. The filmmakers have created a super-thriller with everything moviegoers come to a theater for, and perhaps the biggest surprise is they’ve done it on a shoestring budget.

As a bonus, without sacrificing anything in the art, the movie is easy to follow. Look at the average rating for this movie; it’s high for a reason. You will leave this movie terrified. But like a dark thrill ride, you won’t regret spending your money on it.

Compared to the other Saw movies this one was of course the making in the entire thing. I feel as if they milked this entire series. Because they saw the amount of money coming in from it. I had no idea that they made so many more after the story had ended and the man had died.

But it doesn’t really baffle me any considering that they like to keep things that aren’t broken going. Until they break. Other than that sad fact aside. And the fact that it became a little repetitive.

The movies were very grotesque and gruesome of course and it kind of would have a shock Factor. However it didn’t give you a feel as if to sit back and think wow what if this were to actually happen.

I think Hollywood needs to realize that a lot of us are kind of numb. And this is not the first movie that has had such horrific and morbid things in it. It just happened to be made in an earlier time frame to be seen by more eyes that have a more open and accepting mind.

I bought 2 100 piece packages about two months apart. The first 20 or so recorded movies fine. Over the next 20 or so the recorded disc played fine until the final chapter. They then became pixelated and eventually temporarily froze and then completely froze.

Thought it was my drives, so I replaced them both and had the same issue but as I worked my way into the stack the issue worsened. I thought it was my software and I upgraded that. No effect! I complained to Verbatim and sent them all types of proof and pictures but they did nothing.

Thinking I had a bad batch, I started a new package. By the 10th disc the problem started to return in the new pack. This problem occurred years ago but seemed to have been resolved a couple of years ago until now.

STAY AWAY!!! Not worth a dollar or two in savings!.

I bought this movie for my younger sister and she absolutely loved it! The dvd is in good condition, but the case is very flimsy. It was very entertaining and the storytelling was out of this world! Great movie and ironically no plot holes! Would definitely recommend!.

Based on award winning book, my older grandchildren talked me into taking them to this Disney movie when it was in theaters. Now it’s becoming a favorite of my young grandchildren. An innocent young man is falsely accused and sent to serve time under the watchful eye of a warden with selfish alterior motives.

But truth and kindness win out and everyone learns valuable lessons.

I was so glad that I could find the movie, “Holes,” on DVD. I had tried several video stores, and it was not available anywhere. This is a good clean movie to use in a school setting to teach students the meaning of true friendship, among other lessons.

It arrived quickly, and the students love it.

Purchased these for a Sylvania DVD recorder my father uses, tried multiple times to format and record with these, kept getting error message- disc not compatible. Wouldn’t even format. He’s been using Maxell, tried that brand, works fine.

Beware, these may not be compatible with your recorder.

My LG DVD/VCR combo could not read this brand of disc. Had to go back to using different brand. I can’t speak to the quality of disc as they may operate just fine in a different machine. That said, I give 3 stars for package arriving fast and in good condition.

I have used these rerecordable discs for years to transfer programs from one DVR to another location for viewing. Once I’ve watched the show I can record over it and use again repeatedly. This has given us us more viewing options at locations where internet isn’t available.

The discs are compatible with all our viewing devices and have allowed us to use older, but trusted methods for recording and viewing. Discs can also be protected from erasure.

Click is a film a lot of Adam Sandler fans are divided on but this movie was close to perfect Ilove this movie. Click was directed by Frank Coraci who directed the Waterboy & The Wedding Singer so he knows how to use Sandler right unlike a lot of other Sandler movies.

It stars Adam Sandler as Michael Newman Kate Beckinsale as Donna Newman Christoper Walken as Morty & David Hasselhoff as Mr. Ammer. Plot is Michael Newman is a workaholic who just can’t seem to fit anytime in for his Wife & kids.

His Wife Donna doesn’t like the fact that he can’t keep his promises to the kids. Later he goes to a Bed Bath & Beyond he finds a room called Beyond this guy named Morty gives him a remote that controls his universe.

The remote ends up taking control & fast forwards through his kids growing up his marriage falls apart & Donna’s with this other guy. It even skips his Dad’s death he never learned the quarter trick that he wanted to know since he was a kid it’s a heartbreaking scene.

I’m not spoiling it for you Click is a movie that earned my laughs & it leaves you with a good feeling at the end. I like how it didn’t say it was totally a dream leaving it open.

I wasn’t expecting much when I originally rented Click because I hadn’t heard of it [either a lack of promotion or I just plain missed it]. I liked this movie for a variety of reasons. The storyline was interesting and not quite what I expected.

There was an overall message of ‘family’ that comes through in a positive way, especially toward the end. Click starts out as comedy and slowly progresses toward a more serious note which is necessary to to develop the overall message.

It’s mostly harmless with occasional swearing and light sexual content. Adam Sandler [as Michael Newman] handles his role well, retaining the character we are familiar with from his previous comedic and more serious roles [like Spanglish].

Kate Beckinsale is, well, as pleasant on the eyes as ever and is great as Michael’s wife. All in all, a likable movie that may have went largely unnoticed. And while this may not appeal to Sandler fans who are looking for lots of laughs in the form of crude, sophmoric humor, it’s positive message about family and life, and mix of humor and seriousness should appeal to a larger base.

“Click” is a very interesting comedy, with a serious approach about the importance of having a balanced life between family and work businesses. Adam Sandler performs the role of a liberal professional that does not give priority to his family trying to be successful in his own career, and having the chance to see how his procedure would affect his beloved family.

There are some low level jokes, like the “entertainment” of his dog, but they are also hilarious. Kate Beckinsale is extremely beautiful, as usual, and shows a great chemistry with Adam Sandler. Christopher Walken is very funny in the role of a quite crazy angel.

In the end, this highly recommended “Click” is a big surprise, leaving the important message that family comes first and many entertaining moments.

The use of color and and the label design make the discs look silly. They’re not good for professional work. I would not have bought these if I knew their about appearance beforehand. Staples should carry a more neutral looking version of Verbatim Life DVD-R.

As for longevity, who knows. We’ll all be long gone before we know about that. But likely something we’ll have a new storage technology before then.

I had to try a restore of windows 7 and downloaded the iso file. I am not very experienced with disc media and thought I could use a cd to make a boot disc. Did not work, at all! Not enough disc space on 750 mb.

Bought these discs and it copied first time. Good copy! But my 8 year old computer had a problem somewhere and it would never restore correctly. Good thing I backed up first. Bought a new laptop yesterday.

Well, what do you expect, they are DVDs, but in COLOR. They are relatively good and I have a few that I got from somewhere else years back, and those are holding up well. Considering they cost the same, I like these, and they will spice up my home video library.

I recommend this.

These DVDs are suitable for archiving normal amounts of data with being quite sure you can read it again for many years. And normally you do not need to read that data for centuries – which would be able with M-discs.

In Europe it is not that easy to get them still, so I ordered from New York.

I use them as archival dvd’s. I make dvd slideshows (w/music) about the history in my area for the local historical society’s and maritime museum. Best dvd’s I’ve used. Only time will tell about longevity.

I’ve used them for years with no issues. I have no doubt they will last until a newer, better and maybe longer storage format comes along.

I like the 100 year life span of these DVD’s. I really look forward to watching them at my 150th birthday party! I have not used any of these so I really can’t review them, however I do want to be entered for the drawing.

I can however tell you why I purchased these. The long shelf life is why I purchased these DVD’s to use for backing up all our family’s home movies. With companies wanting $30 or more to transfer a VHS to DVD we decided that we would come out ahead if we purchased our own VHS-DVD recorder and archive quality DVD’s.

I will add more after my 150th birthday party to tell you if the longevity claim holds up.

had to buy replacement @ Walmart store for $ 10. 00 more including sales tax. Plus I had to make 2 round trips to store & home again. About 1 1/2 hours time , 1 gal. fuel @$ 3. 45 gal. not a paying proposition in time or money.

Package was in a box 4x size of DVD PKG. , with air pillow pks. ;bottom broke off DVD packaging, recordable media was floating around and being scratched in transit. Not a recipe for success unless you want corrupted data , because I bought these DVD’s as a way to do SYSTEM RECOVERY for my new computer.

Of course I will have other uses for remaining DVD’s. Heat shrink plastic encasing DVD packaging around top to bottom 4X , plus a smaller box could have turned this failure into a success. LivBIG BRUCEe & learn that’s what life is about.

A friend said to try these Innovera discs, they are supposed to be superior to other discs ? I’ve used the Innovera disc cleaner earlier with no problem. So I’m trying the blank discs out, so far no problems and with a nice picture.

So maybe ? These discs seem to be a tad more expensive. Time will tell.

This is an excellent value. The DVD-R performs as expected. The White ink jet writable surface gives superior performance with photographs and text material. It is the best way to label DVD disc that I have tried.

It is much faster and provides much better pictures than the LightScribe system and at lower costs. My new All-in-One Canon printer provided the capability for writing on ink jet writable disks.

Needed to buy a blank DVD to make good on a promise that I made to my grandpa. The first one that I used worked and gave me no problems. I have read some reviews that said something about half of the blanks not working.

I didn’t run into that problem. When comparing other options, I found this to be the best deal. I recommend.

I’m actually pretty upset. I have a DVD Recorder that requires no more than 4x speed DVDs. These aren’t widely available, but when I found them on Walmart. com I was excited. Unfortunately, what came is not what is pictured.

The photo clearly shows 4x DVD-R, but what was actually sent was 1-16x DVDs. Of course, I relied on Walmart sending what I ordered and when I popped on of the DVDs in my Recorder, it couldn’t operate with it.

Total waste of my time and money. It’s critial with online shopping that what is ordered is what you get.

Good reliable product and inexpensive. I like the container it comes in. Keeps the DVDs protected. Packaged well. I will continue to buy these.

I have bought many spindles of Verbatim products for all sorts of archiving and record keeping over the years; I have found them to be excellent for these purposes, but Verbatim does have occasional quality control issues with the metallic coating on the discs.

I suggest that any buyers at least try to visually inspect some of the discs at various places on the spindle to see if the metallic coating is splotchy or has holes in it, which would mean that disc is only useful as a cup coaster.

The product was fine and has performed as expected, however, it was my SECOND choice because the Memorex discs, on sale at more than $10 less, were out of stock and I had to get it immediately, and so was FORCED to buy the more expensive expensive item or else mis a production deadline.

I kinda think I should be credited for the difference that I had to overpay.

the life series are somehow different from the non life series disks. My professional JVC recorder/writer will not recognize this as a writeable disk. returning 300 disks. The regular series verbatim disks work fine.

1917 is an excellent move. The cinatopgraphy was excellent. I also bought Once upon a time in Holly. I really enjoyed. You have excellent service, value for my dollar, and the movies are currrent. I have only bought new movies from you.

“1917” definitely keeps the viewer engaged throughout the movie. Similar to “Saving Private Ryan,” the story follows two characters on a mission, and the artistry of the performance keeps the viewer on the edge of his or her seat.

I had the pleasure of seeing the movie on the big screen, which added to the intensity, but even on the smaller screen, “1917” delivers!.

As Advertised this movie is one of the best War movies of all time. While it has a very simple theme, get the message through, it is the complex story of how that happens. The camera work flows so well through out the whole story, that it seems to be seamless.

While not on the Level of “Saving Private Ryan” or ” Band of Brothers” it still is a a stand alone Movie for its actual story. Very well Directed and Acted!!.

this movie was given to me as a gift by a good friend of mine, and I love nostalgic movies. love all the bonus features especially being able to see the deleted scenes. this is definitely another wonderful addition to my collection of movies I remember watching growing up.

Just as good as I remembered. Heartwarming. Can’t go wrong with this purchase.

This is one of the best acted and storied movies ever made. In my opinion, it is Tim Robbins best performance and Morgan Freeman is also superb as a man that is in prison for life and so is a fixture within the rough culture of the penitentiary.

The villains are the corrupt prison warden and his prime guard that will do whatever he requests. Robbins plays Andy Dufresne, a mild-mannered banker that was wrongfully convicted of murder and is now in Maine’s Shawshank State Prison.

He is truly a money man and is confused yet demonstrates a strong will. Freeman plays “Red” Redding, a lifer that knows the culture and does what he can to help Dufresne acclimate to his new environment.

It is a tough situation, while some fellow inmates are friendly and helpful, others are brutal, seeing him as a bunny that can be exploited. Dufresne keeps his financial wits about him, so when he overhears a guard talking about financial issues, he naively reassumes his former role as a financial advisor.

After a tense initial situation, his explanation convinces the guard that he knows what he is talking about. Dufresne then becomes financial advisor to the warden and even the guards, a position that gains him few explicit perks other than the opportunity to exercise his financial acumen.

Yet, through all this time, he is planning a masterstroke that allows him to get revenge against his tormentors and eventually, reunites him with Redding. Robbins is superb in carrying out his role as a mild-mannered financial genius that happens to be in prison.

He never seems to get excited or do anything against the rules, fooling everyone in the prison with his actions. The reader feels empathy for Dufresne while despising the two strong villains, leading to mental applause when he pulls his surprise.

This movie was so good! It was very sad and the ending was really fantastic! The acting was great and the plot kept my attention! I really recommend this movie to anyone who loves drama movies! It had me feeling for the main character a lot!.

This movie is a must see. It’s based off of a Stephen King short story, but it’s not horror as one would likely assume, since that’s what King is best known for. Great actors, great acting. It’s a touching movie with a great storyline.

I bought this to make duplicates of my car’s navigation system map DVD. I ripped the iso to my hard drive and attempted to burn it on these DVD+R DL blanks, using the acclaimed freeware ImgBurn program.

Every single one failed with write errors anywhere between 80% to 95% completion. I noticed that these Verbatim “Life series” discs are actually made by CMC, which get bad reviews online. I also read recommendations to try Verbatim DataLifePro+ DVD+R DL blanks instead.

Office Depot does not have those but I purchased some online. Those burned successfully on first try, and my car’s navigation system worked fine with it. So, I recommend the Verbatim DataLifePro+ over these Verbatim Life series.

they want me to write a review. i don’t know what much there is to say about dvds. to me they either work or they’re coasters. i bought these because now that i can’t find tdk, memorex, or office depot dvds too much in my area any more, these are about the only ones available and the price keeps decreasing also, which i like.

of course the 5. 00 delivery charge is something i don’t like and the 5. 00 fee, but. i usually don’t have too many problems with these dvds and when i do i’m not sure if it’s the dvd itself or my dvd recorder.

it’ll mess up on about 3 dvds out of every 30 in the batch. when it does, i usually get corrupt titles that either won’t play or keep repeating chapter 1 over and over or skip chapters. sometimes it will not allow me to record any more and there is still 1-4 hours left on the dvd available record time so i have to get another one, what a waste.

also, when i try to rename a title, it is very slow and doesn’t advance to the next letter on the screen to rename the title. i usually keep a fan on my dvd recorder because it gets hot and if i don’t it will mess up even more.

The Verbatim Life Series of DVD+R DL you find in brick and mortar stores are not made by Verbatim, but by CMC, the worst manufacturer of optical media out there. While Verbatim DVD+R DL are the only reliable DVD+R DL discs out there, there is a quality difference with Verbatim.

Life Series is the cheap CMC junk. You want the DataLife Plus/AZO media you only find in online stores. The nature of CMC media is they may complete burns, but you may have several readability issues.

Just because the operation completes doesn’t mean it did it well. Cheap media will also die sooner than quality media.

I’ve been using maxell dvd+r for years and never had any problems with them. Always produces a good quality picture. Can’t complain at all.

The packaging was bad only ain a tylar envelope. One bottom lock busted on container due to bouncing around. The disk were o. k. Maxwell is one of the best DVD’s you can get. I have never really had a bad one yet that was not my fault.

The service from OfficeDepot has always been great.

I was thrilled that this was easy to hook up and use. I give it a 5 star rating with the quality of the DVDs when played on the DVD player, including good sound. much better than the view of the 8mm cassette film through the camcorder.

and the ease of use, bypassing need for a computer to do this task. I hooked up Sony camcorder to the Sony VRD MC5 using a separate cord I bought ( FireWire Cable 4 Pin to 4 Pin Male to Male iLink DV Cable Firewire 400 IEEE 1394 Cord).

I hooked a 4 pin cable connector into each machine, turned the camcorder to play, powered burner on, then one more click, and it worked well. My only learning curve was that I can not do the easy selection of just the one click button for full copy mode, because all of my 8mm cassette films are 2 hours long each.

One hour of tape records on the Verbatim DVD+R blank discs I used, so half way in when the disc is full, it stops then you need to keep that spot on tape and have the remainder record to 2nd disc (which I found to work well using the Manual mode instead of full mode.

there are only a few steps more to doing this, which I found instructions for in manual). Sony also makes it easy to finalize the disc, with options that display when the eject button is touched. I will certainly be recommendingthis product to other people I know.

I am well pleased with this Sony VRD MC5, that I bought used for a good price, and it is still great!.

the best way to transfer your analog tapes to dvd. I tried some of the converters you plug into your computer and they both were bad. Bad picture quality and unstable image. I tried a 40. 00 dollar one and a 70.

00 dollar one from best buy. This sony makes an exact copy of your tape. there are some little tricks to learn while using it. Like not all blank media acts the same in it. If you stop the recording about every 30 min and restart that works best and I have not had any dics fail since learning that little trick.

Excellent piece of equipment to create movies from a Sony camcorder. You must have the proper cable that fit your video camera. The SD slots are used only to create picture slide shows. They will not read movie data.

Must stream data from camera to DVD recorder via cables or USB. I Still think this is a great product. You can use your home computer to do the same thing, but that requires a lot of converting files.

You can also download Sony Play Memories Software onto your computer or laptop, and make movies from your camcorder. I find the DVD Recorder to be my first choice.

In the world we live in home movies are made on several devices, from cell phones, tablets, and cameras. It is a must to gather all them up and upload them on you computer. Then you need a quality blank that will hold these priceless memories for generations to come all on one dvd that you can share with loved ones.

As long as your computer has a dvd drive there are many programs you can use most likely installed on that computer to collect and burn these memories on blank dvds. If you cannot locate a program on you computer to burn movies, there are several online you can safely download that are free.

I also know many people order pay per view and as long as you have a dvd recorder you need a quality blank dvd to have that event forever. If your pc does not have a dvd drive you can purchase external dvd drives for a reasonable price.

It will require a USB port and a regular power cord you’ll plug into the home. There are many home movies you can share with family members as gifts that they will be thrilled over. I have through the years converted all my old camcorder home movies on dvd, and shared with family.

Especially weddings. They are the hit of the party. Looking back 20 year ago is priceless. Memorex is a long trusted brand of electronics, and I prefer these blanks. They are durable. They have the + R and – R.

I always purchase the +R as it seems they work in most all newer dvd players. If in doubt, read the manual that came with your dvd player. Most play both, some older models require the – R. A quality product at a fair market price.

When you wish to label them, use a permanent marker in the are provided. They are good for one record session only. Once you burn whatever you burn on the disc, it’s there.

First of all, I’ve been using Sony DVD+Rs to copy my old tapes of “All Hit Videos” and those have worked great. Ran out of discs, decided to try this brand. First disc–recorded fine. Second disc–nope.

Third, fourth, fifth–nope, nope, and nope. Decided to try a disc toward the middle of the spindle, I mean, what were the odds? The TV screen would display the “Cannot record copy-protected movie” disclaimer and stop recording, during videos I had successfully recorded on the Sony DVDs, and quite possibly the first Memorex disc.

Perhaps I got a faulty package, but I think I’m sticking to Sony. Just thought that “copy-protection” disclaimer appearing out of the blue was kinda strange.

I took a chance with these since they were on sale when I bought them and I’m glad I didn’t pay full price for them. I thought the first 50 disc spindle that I opened and found 4 badly scratched blank discs was a fluke due to mass manufacturing but when I went through the other two 50 disc spindles, the same pattern showed up although the number of badly scratched discs varies.

For the ones that looked usable, there are random scratches on the burn surface that can be scattered through the entire burn surface. I’ve been able to use the non-scratched or lightly scratched ones without any problems although I hesitant to use the full capacity.

Buyer beware and try to buy these only on sale.

When it comes to Maxell products for the PC (and for the laptop), I think they’re very great! Just think about it: ”You want to record and store life’s moments while you’re still living. You’ve got a personal computer (or a laptop).

You’ve got a program that’ll help you record CD R and DVD R discs. You’ll want to store cool videos, nice music, an album of photos, and interesting data. Maxell has products that’ll help you get the job done.

I’ve been using Maxell brand media going back to audio cassette tapes and VHS video tapes, for durability and fidelity, since the 1980’s, after some bad experiences with cheapo brands. I read customer reviews by some that said the newest Maxell recordable disks are supplied by a cheap manufacturer, then Maxell slaps their brand name on them.

Other reviews talked about disks repeatedly failing to burn, making them coasters. However, I read negative burn failure/data read error/coaster reviews for every brand of recordable DVD I looked at: HP, Sony, Verbatim, Memorex, etc.

So, I ordered Maxell again. I did find that the disks are thinner, lighter (cheaper, I guess) plastic now, as compared to previous Maxell disks (why I gave a rating of 4 stars instead of 5). However, every single disk among the first 17 I’ve used so far burned and played back perfectly, and that includes that I turned the spindle pack base upside-down on a table, and took disks from the bottom first, on-purpose, to see if they worked after having been packaged under the weight of the rest of the disks.

So, while the disk plastic is of a lighter weight, so far, I have yet to have a reason to switch to another brand.

I am using these DVD-Rs to back up audio and video files. I have used up about 3/4 of them as of this point, and all have worked without problem. I would buy again, and would recommend them.
