13 Best Forehand Disc Golf Driver (2023 Updated)

My wife surprised me with the Taylormade M4 Driver, RH, Stiff shaft, 10. 5 loft. I’ve played for years with a Cleveland Launcher and tried various drivers over the years. This Driver out performs anything I’ve put my hands on.

The club feels good, and hits are solid. I didn’t go to the driving range, and took it straight to the course to play 18. I didn’t miss a single fairway and consistently hit the ball down the middle with a slight draw.

Since the club was new, I could see where my impact was on the face. Even on toe shots, I was still down the middle with good distance. I gained an average of 15 to 20 yards from my old launcher as well.

Anyone out there playing with an older driver like I was that’s looking for some more distance and forgiveness should give this driver a try.

Bin golfing for a long time, usually use cheap knock off brands for clubs. Decided to dive into some branded clubs to see if todays technology would help or not, and no disappointment here! Took a couple weeks to get use to but I’m loving it.

Drives went from 240 yards with my old driver that was part of a cheap set up to 280+ yards with the M4. Pretty forgiving also. It doesn’t automatically fix a slice or anything but when you hit the ball bad it gives you really good distances regardless.

Would recommend to anyone wanting to step up there clubs without breaking the bank. Only other thing I would like to see on this driver is a slide weight.

The M4 driver is a must have in anyone’s bag. With the right shaft combination, the M4 driver is just as long as the other newer drivers out there on the market. My favorite feature is the Geocoustic technology that allows for a deeper face and therefore more forgiveness, which I was looking for in a new driver.

Ball flight and sound is ideal and the M4 is a fairway finder. And I love how the M4 (mine is a 10. 5 deg) sets up at address in the notch just lower than standard setting. Finally, you can’t beat the very reasonable price point of the M4 driver.

Definitely recommend – buy an M4 driver before they are all gone.

I don’t have this entire set of discs, since I bought my shark disc back in the 90s, before they had starter packs, and then I got my first leopard only a few months ago. The shark is a super stable straight flier to use as an approach disk.

The leopard is an awesome fairway driver that you can make numerous types of shots with. Both the shark and the leopard are routinely in my bag now (I just used both this very morning). The putter is a pretty standard putter that should fly straight as well.

The online description says Colt putter, but it actually comes with the Aviar. These discs are usually the 150 class discs, meaning that they’re not more than 159g in weight. This makes them ideal for starting throwers.

The Aviar is one of, if not the most popular putter mold, and works great for putt and approach. The Shark is a very solid, neutral flying midrange with gentle fade. The Leopard is a great starting fairway driver, again with a very mellow fade at the end of its flight.

The plastic is known as ‘DX’ in the Innova line. It’s their base plastic. It will get dented and banged up over time. That won’t stop the discs from flying. It just makes them more ‘understable’. This, combined with their light weight might pose issues down the line, but that would be after a LOT of rounds, by which time you’d know if you wanted to invest in heavier discs of higher grade plastic.

This is a very good mix of discs for players just starting out, or those folks who just want to play the occasional casual round.

As soon as I started using the driver, I immediately added 15-20 feet to my throws. Initially, I bought a 3 pack for ten bucks and they were fine because I was just starting. After a few months and lots of people telling me to get better discs, I finally opted for this set.

While I cant say the putter or midrange is better, the driver is much better. As in goes farther. Part of it is its lighter. The driver I got weighs 143 grams. The cheap brand weighed 160. That said, I think I prefer the heavier discs for the putter & midrange.

Particularly in wind If I was advising someone new, Id say buy this 3 pack or a single Innova disc that’s LIGHT.

I’m a 20 handicap occasional golfer, intending to play more often, so have been considering an equipment upgrade for a while. Drivers have got expensive! So, it took me a while to summon the courage to splash out on the Stealth HD Driver.

Having previously bought through a pro shop, I was hesitant to go direct, but I had a good idea of what I needed from a loft and shaft point of view so I went online. The chat support was v helpful – and the fact that my previous driver was an R15 TaylorMade helped.

The Stealth HD looks great, feels good in the grip and the head is a sensible size – big enough to instill confidence but not too enormous to draw withering attention from your playing partners. I’m not a good enough golfer to give you chapter and verse on the performance, but I am a bad enough golfer to let you know that this club is extremely FORGIVING!!! My frequent flare to the right has been reined in – a lot.

My mishits have resulted in surprising distance. The performance of the club overall adds confidence when you’re standing on the tee and that has been huge for me. I didn’t get any extra distance over my previous driver with the new Stealth HD, but I have achieved considerably more accuracy – and that has been worth the price of admission.

I was very concerned about spending all that money and then being let down with the performance. My old driver was a TaylorMade 09 Bruner and I knew being 13 years old there had to be something out there with newer technologies.

With my old driver I would get into a slicing funk occasionally. With 8-9 rounds with my Stealth HD Driver I have not sliced one shot, although I did push one. When I slow down my swing and good tempo all my shots are down the middle.

If I over swing I do pull the ball. I will admit the pulls are long, in the middle of the lake instead of just barely in the lake. By slowing down this driver it is not quit as long as the old driver but I’m not in trouble and running up my score.

I’ve already dropped 2 stokes off my handicap. I would definitely recommend going to a “DemoDay” [driving range] instead of buying off the shelf as the the associate worked with me until he found the right combination.

If he can help this old dog [75 yrs] he can probably help you. Now I’m wondering about saving up for a couple of fairway woods. I wonder if my wife would understand, probably not.

I’ve been a TaylorMade guy since I finally got fitted 11 years ago. I wentand got fitted for stealth irons, rescue, 3 wood, and Driver back April 2022. Worst summer of golf ever!!! It’s like I’ve forgotten how to golf.

The driver when fitted showed a nice little draw. I’ve yet to hit a draw with this club. Everything fades, cuts, or slices. At one time, I could call my shot. I’ve hit this driver over 200 yds 3 times this summer and my distance is down 100 yds! I actually hit my 3 hybrid the same distance.

I’m at the range 3 times a week trying to figure this club out. I would have snapped it in half a month ago but my GF just won’t like me. Seriously thinking about trying Callaway or another brand. My handicap has went up 2 strokes!.

Ever since the first Rouge came out that was the only driver I would use. My drives usually have a nice mid trajectory, but I put lots of spin on the ball, so most other drivers I would hit would end up ballooning a bit and getting no roll out, and the only driver that I came close to liking as much as my Rouge was the SIM.

Then the Rouge ST was released and since the course I work at is a Callaway retailer, we had lots of demo clubs. Hit the Rouge ST LS (9° set to 8°) with the shaft I currently use and instantly fell in love.

Played on course with it for the first time today and it was incredible. Drives were carrying 300+ almost every hole which was a 30 yard increase from my Rouge, trajectory was perfect, and the spin was perfect for my liking.

The control and consistency with the club was amazing, I could stop a drive if needed and if not it had decent roll out, and the couple shots that got away from me were not bad misses, so the club also has a decent amount of forgiveness.

The club also looks and sounds amazing which is always a big plus. Overall, I 100% recommend this club, especially if you were a fan of the original Rogue. If you have your own shaft that you like with a Callaway hosel fitted, I recommend using that because personally I didn’t like the Mitsubishi shafts, but the driver head itself is 10/10.

Buying the driver and a 3 wood to match this weekend, and they will likely be the only long clubs going in my bag for a long time.

The wind was slightly into, maybe a touch off my right shoulder. The course, looking spectacular, was well packed for this sunny winters day. My new weapon in hand, I teed up my TP5 and gave the customary waggle.

I could feel the eyes burning into me. The first opportunity was here. So far it had been a mix of long irons and 3 woods from the tee, course management at a premium. But now. Now was the time. As I lined up, I took aim at the tree that had long been my nemesis, snatching ball after ball.

Not today. A gentle draw was called for, with my new weapon adjusted appropriately via the adjustable hosel, standard loft, draw bias. A deep breath. As I started my backswing, a hint of sunlight bounced off the carbon crown and caught my eye.

This, I thought, was going far. I felt the Tensei AV Series 65g stiff flex shaft load up as I began my downswing, full of anticipation. Milliseconds later, the Flash Face Jail Break supported face sent the ball ascending into the stratosphere, straighter than a Nullarbor Highway, the distance ticking over like a V8 Supercar thundering down Conrod.

The ball landed purposely, 1 bounce, 2 bounces before trickling onto the front edge and nestling 5 feet from the hole. I turned back to face my playing partners, looking as smug as Patrick Reed accepting the Masters trophy.

Three jaws wide open. Shock and awe written all over their faces. I knew at that precise moment, this game will never be the same again. Thank you Callaway, thank you.

Purchased this driver and the Stealth Plus as replacements for my SIM and I am an 11 handicap. Both with the Project X Smoke Black 6. 0 70g shafts and 9 degree loft. I play league at 2 different courses and wanted to have the versatility and shot shaping of the Plus at one course and the Stealth for it’s forgiveness on the other course.

From the fitting to the course, these clubs are drastically different in feel. The Plus with the Smoke Black is a very low penetrating flight. This club, the Stealth I found to be very smooth and balanced.

With the Smoke Black however, it didn’t quite add up distance wise to my SIM (8 yard loss). I swapped shafts to my Project X Black 6. 0 75 gram that I had in my SIM and carried the first drive 315. I was consistently averaging 294 over the next two rounds which was 11 yards more than the SIM plus dispersion was tighter.

Very solid club if not one of the best drivers I have gamed!! Bottom Line is that for my game, I need to find a replacement shaft that is close to the Project X Black and not the Smoke Black.

Received it last Friday and yesterday played for the first time. I had a chance to hit two tee shots, one with Stealth (10. 5 adjusted to 9. 75, Ventus Red 5R) and the other – with SIM Max (10. 5 adjusted to 9.

75, Ventus Blue 6R). I did not notice any meaningful difference between the two in terms of distance or dispersion. Both were sending a ball about 230+/-10 yards total on a wet course on a 40F degree day.

I flipped the shafts on the back nine, but did not notice any difference either. I also used Garmin G80 radar launch monitor, which showed a very small increase in Stealth club head speed of 3-4 mph with a stock shaft over SIM.

However, should add that SIM has over 400 rounds under its belt, while Stealth is brand new. Where Stealth really beats SIM Max is in how the shots feel, it’s like a hot knife going through the butter.

Overall, if SIM Max is in a good condition, upgrade probably is not worth the money.

I bought this driver a month ago, I could not be happier except for the distance but in this care it may be the “Indian and not the arrow” as I am 66 years old and don’t have the turn I used to have, still a solid 255 to 265 yd drive.

I have had a handicap as low as 3 and currently at 8. The feel of the ball coming off the club face is incredible, really don’t notice the sound as some reviews have noted. Misses on the toe, no noticeable loss of yardage.

Misses on the heal of course less yardage but still good yardage. Solid center strikes are unbelievable, “one with the universe”. The club sets up perfectly at address and I have the confidence in my set up to make the swing.

I was never a fan of the white club head and really enjoy the look of the matt finish. I gave this review the title of “Robot” because that was labeled by my 20 something players I joined at the local public course.

The driver was very strong and consistent compared to their results. I will check out 3 and 5 woods when the opportunity arises.

Bought this driver for my wife, who is relatively new to the game. Stock women’s set up, 12 degree loft. Nice high ball flight, doesn’t seem to spin too much. Distance and forgiveness a large improvement from her prior model.

Very impressed. Tremendous value since this was a brand new driver that was only released just shy of 4 years ago. The black club face had one unexpected perk for my wife: we were able to ascertain the location of her mishits based on tee marks – she wouldn’t otherwise be able to differentiate heel vs toe etc.

Would strongly recommend this club, and I suspect it would perform well for more experienced golfers as well.

I purchased the Stealth Plus 9 degree driver around a month ago from Golf Galaxy and I very happy with the performance up to this point. I have only played about 4 to 5 rounds with my Stealth Plus so far but the results have been great.

Once TaylorMade launched the Stealth lineup I immediately knew I was going to purchase one but I wasn’t sure which one fit my game. I purchased the Callaway XR speed last year and the performance was okay but I wanted to change up and get fitted for the newest technology.

I scheduled a fitting at golf galaxy and went in with the mindset that I was going to get the stealth not the Stealth Plus. Started out by hitting my old driver (Callaway XR speed) and the results were not good lol Very high spin rate (5,000-6,000 range) and drives only carrying around 230-240 at best.

Then I hit the Stealth and Stealth Plus and the results were similar between the two but the Stealth Plus had the advantage for me. Results for Stealth Plus were low spin (2,000-3,000 range) and drives carrying around 260-270.

I had 2 drives over 300 yards! The regular Stealth had around the same data but higher spin resulting in lower yards off the tee. Dispersion was similar between the two as well. All of the data was from the trackman, hitting in a bay but I was very impressed with what I was seeing.

I ended up purchasing the Stealth Plus 9 degree extra stiff shaft. My natural drive shot shape is a cut and sometimes a slice. It took me a while to get down that this driver keeps my shot shape much straighter.

Once I got that down, I am hitting it around 10-15 yards further consistently and I’m able to keep my ball flight lower and straighter. Id highly recommend to get fitted for this driver and bring your old driver so you can compare statistics on the trackman between the two.

Hopefully this is convincing enough to pull the trigger on this beast.

I have been a 15 hcp for years due to not being able to keep a driver in play. My driver swing speed is 98-103 typically. Iron play and putting are fine, strokes gained analysis showed what I knew- I’m a 25 hcp off the tee and a 5 hcp after the tee shot.

My last “few” drivers were. Titlest 813- when I hit the sweet spot, ball was hammered, out to 270 yds, but yardage greatly dropped on off center hits- which are my norm. Ping G400- Very forgiving and a huge improvement over the 813, but I was giving up yardage-quite a bit.

Gamed it got almost 3 years, then in the quest for more distance, off to the. Sim 2- much better distance, but I think poorly fitted shaft for my swing- I had no control over the club face. Sometimes open, sometimes closed, sometimes square.

I switched shafts with another who had the Rouge shaft and it was much straighter. Went to get fitted for a new shaft, but hit the Stealth plus and couldn’t go back. So now. Stealth Plus 9 degree with the stock Rouge shaft in stiff, 1/2” shorter than standard.

I hit all but 1 fairway first round I played. Drives were 255-260 typically and a VERY tight dispersion. Longest drive 283. My playing partners were in awe especially from ME being the one doing that- it’s not my MO.

The club head speed is up about 2 mph, ball speed is up about 3mph. Mishits don’t hurt much. I have found driving Nirvana.

I’ve been playing the SIM for 2 years. I loved the SIM for it’s low spin and penetrating flight. My complaints have been because it’s so low spin if I miss left it can be off the planet. My miss with the driver is high on the face and the SIM is a relatively small face compared to SIM max and newer drivers.

I tested the SIM2 and I just couldn’t get comfortable with it. The feel was too different and something about it just didn’t work for me. This year when Stealth was released I went right down to my shop to try it out along side my gamer and SIM2.

I got the same results with the SIM2 which were just too spinny and uncomfortable. When I hit the Stealth first at 9 degrees I found it stable but a little too much spin. Once I used the sleeve to take off loft I started hitting very straight shots with perfect spin characteristics.

It also offers me far more area to miss on the face high. TM isn’t joking when they say 20% more face compared to SIM. On miss-hits I’m still getting close to the same carry but what’s more important for me personally is my misses are much closer to the center line than I was seeing with SIM.

I’m seeing slightly higher ball speeds 1-2 MPH but it’s a much more stable/straight driver than SIM for me.

I received my Stealth Tour AD IZ 6 X driver and took it out for a spin the same evening. My previous driver was the SIM2 MAX with the Ventus Blue shaft. One sentence conclusion at the end. Overall, after a night of an intense driving range session, at least right now I’m disappointed, and I wouldn’t recommend this to an average golfer like me.

The rubbery coated material on the face feels cheap. Only after hitting maybe 15 balls, I’ve noticed one of my shots left a mark on my face, shown in the photo. At first, I thought I could clean it off or it would change back to its original shape, but after a day it’s still there and now I permanently don’t have a smooth face after the first day of owning this driver.

The photo does not make it look significant, but in real life, it’s noticeable for anyone who would grab the club to look at the face. Secondly, notice when I said rubbery? Unfortunately, these faces gave me a lot more sidespin than the SIM2 Max.

Makes sense since the face isn’t smooth like the SIM2 material. I’m not the perfect driver off the tee, but what would have been a fade and playable shot with my SIM2 became a complete slice and OB shot with the Stealth.

So in conclusion, the rubbery face coating material feels cheap and gives more sidespin. In terms of sidespins, it’s quite unforgiving. I would not recommend this driver for average golfers like myself looking for forgiveness above the SIM2.

As a long time player, this is quite possibly the worst club, I have ever used. No fault of Golf Town or to trash Wilson Golf as I also own the D7 driver and irons which are excellent. It has a “sweet spot” the size of a dime, Anything outside of that sounds and feels striking the ball with a wooden 2X4.

The carbon fiber head and bottom 10 gram weight lowers the “CGI” so much that it will ruin a decent golf swing. Removing the weight brings this club back to a driver circa 1965. Memo to myself and others, always test the clubs in store before purchasing rather than relying on “past Brand performance”, “marketing hype” or “suspect” online reviews.

At 6 feet tall, this regular flex 4 hybrid is perfect my height. Any age of a person should be able to hit this club pretty well. If you take your time and hit the ball clean, you will get some nice distance with this club.

I love the way it sounds when you strike the ball. This club has gotten me out of a lot of trouble situations on the course. I’ve saved a stroke or two, many of times with this club. I highly recommend it.

P. S. The grip is very nice. The club is lightweight, and it comes with a nice head cover.

I am an avid golfer for over 30 years. I’ve played every brand and been custom fit. When I saw the price of this driver I decided to give it a go and glad I did. Looks stunning, feels amazing, has great forgiveness and wants to fly straight right off the shelf.

No there is no adjustability but frankly I play all my clubs in neutral setting and wouldn’t need to adjust this one. Great product from Wilson at a great price!.

I’ve been disc golfing for a year now and loving it. This is the beginner set I bought and it was great. Beginners should be looking for the following characteristics in choosing discs: lightweight (140-165g) understable (3rd number between -3 to -1) Low speed (1st number, no need to throw anything above 8 or 9 speed) This set is great for a beginner as it fits a lot of those characteristics.

P. s. put your phone number on the back of the discs. When you inevitably lose them, they may find their way back through good Samaritans.

My daughter and son in law got me excited about disc golf, I was anxious to play some more and needed to buy my own discs so I ran out to Dick’s one day, they had a great end display with multiple options.

I chose the set because they were a great deal and included all that I needed to get started and so far, so good! The course that I’ve gone to play at is pretty rough. lots of huge granite rocks. Since I’m just learning my discs take quite a bit of abuse, however, they are holding their own.

Color options are great, nice bright colors that are easy to find in bushes and other terrain. Highly recommend this disc golf set!.

Was about to buy off amazon but checked Dick’s and saw they were in stock locally, purchased in store. They have a TON of “distance drivers” and a couple putters and fairways and these 3disc packs. I highly recommend NOT going for a “distance driver” off the bat.

I’m learning to throw the starter discs. It is hard at first. The more you improve technique, the more time you put in, the straighter and farther they go. I am at the point where I now can get the fairway/driver to go straight and far.

The putter included is used by many pros even. I have not had issues with damage, some chipping some rash, but it doesn’t seem to affect the flight characteristics yet. Play once in the woods and this will happen to any disc (chipping).

I DID have an issue where I forgot my discs in my hot car, and the putter warped a little. Luckily it was the putter and I’m not too concerned, it goes straight still. Read up on Disc Golf and how to and everything.

These are NOT “Frisbees” and will not fly anything like them, you have to learn new techniques to do it right. But it gets fun 🙂 and burns calories chasing them down :).

This driver is amazing!! If your thinking about it do it. I advise get the driver match to your game. I have a fast swing speed and am played golf all my life lessons from the best so the Sim 2 is perfect.

For player looking for even more forgiveness but the same everything get the sim2 Max. I consider myself a good golfer working my way back to my old 6 handicap and this will get me well on my way. I am so excited to use this and can’t wait to play again and again with it.

Also make sure you do your research for yourself on which loft you should get, which shaft is best for you, then adjusting the head accordingly when you get it. I know myself enough to do it myself and compare to some other players.

You find your right settings, shaft, loft you will be very happy.

Purchased the Sim2 Driver to replace my KING RADSPEED XB Tour Length Driver I had in my bag for about a year which I hit a ton. However, I tried the Sim2 because my Sim Ti rocket 3 wood was getting out there with my driver.

That being said I figured I would dive the drive a spin. OMG! Hot, hot, hot off the face. I mishit the first two drives to about 260 followed by another(on the button) that carried 280 and rolled to 320.

Very straight mishits. The adjustability of Sim2 Driver allows me plenty of options as well. such a joy to hit I will actually practice driving now 😊.

I’ve had the Sim2 driver since the beginning of the season and really really like it. I went from the M6 to the Sim2 and I’m glad I made the change. The looks, and set up of the Sim2 are excellent and I love the way it feels when you flush a drive.

Great feel and great sound. A real nice solid click. I get compliments all the time on how straight my drives are and the looks of the club. I was a little concerned at first with the all carbon fiber sole but that turned out to be a non issue.

After 4 months of use, it barely shows any signs of wear. I love this driver and if you are thinking about taking the plunge, you won’t be disappointed.

I have been a PA-4 thrower for a hot minute I have every plastic from beat-in 300 to like-new 750. and I LOVE them for putting and throwing of straight to understable lines. I was so excited to pick up a couple BG PmUS putters to see the hype.

Here are my thoughts. 1. They glide WAY MORE than the PA-4, both during throws and especially putts (you’ll need to aim lower or slow your pace) 2. They are shallower and typically come out of my hand faster than my PA-4 (I have to aim further right than I typically do on putts) 3.

With a thinner profile and harder plastic, they have more of a tendency to cut through the chains on 15-20′ putts (I putt with heavy spin and pace) 4. They, in new condition, fly overall stable with a slight high-speed turn and slight low-speed fade (similar to a used 350G PA-3) 5.

If I want to manipulate the flight, I can use my own angle control (easy-to-throw on various angles to get various flights) I throw my PA-4s flat and they’ll turnover and hold that line to the ground, while these slightly turnover then come back to flat and finish straight.

If you want a more rounded, slightly shallower putter than the PA-4, you need to try the PmUS. If you want an unbeaded, slightly more understable PmS, you need to try the PmUS. If you have smaller hands and/or want throwing a putter to feel more like throwing a mid, you need to try the PmUS.

I’m trying to work this into my bag as my throwing putter to replace a beat-in 350G PA-3 and compliment my PmS. and it just might do it sooner rather than later.

The P-Model US is an excellent disc. It may not be for my putting style, but the disc flies beautifully. Very useful for upshots and fades in unison with the LUNA. Reliable over-stable putt and approach.

Im loving this disc so far. My first taste of the basegrip plastic and I am SOLD! This thing has an incredibly dependable flight. It is almost impossible to turnover for slower arm speeds but is still extremely approachable.

Nice glide before the fade at end!.

I am fairly new to disc golf. I have bought many prodigy discs and have decided this is the brand I want to throw. I have the latest bag and love it! I have a red X5 and absolutely love how this disc throws (for me).

I was told I might not like it due to I do not throw hard. I have played with it only a few times and I tell ya what. I already know where the disc is going to fly for me. I love how lightweight it is and soft.

I have RA and it is very hard for me to grip discs. This brand is very soft and easy to use. I have also started using the disc golf gloves, which I highly recommend for any one with arthritis.

This disc was far more stable than was promoted. Not sure if it was just the plastic or not, but it is not flippy in the least. Even my dominant forehand snap, which can get some flat flight out of a D2 to go 360ft, was unable to get the disc to level out and perform as desired, smashing the ground at just over 300ft.

After building an entire Prodigy Bag this is my only disappointment to date, otherwise their data is sound!.

My first prodigy disk. I’m older. played many many years. I’ve lost a lot of arm speed so I got this lighter 164g hoping I could get enough turn to make it anhyzer out and gently fade back ( like the description says).

Can’t do it. Won’t go with the turns and fades very hard actually costing me both distance and accuracy. bummer. I was finally able to get it to hold a pretty straight line with moderate fade by really trying to turn it hard on low ceiling tunnel shots, but this was much harder than with the stable driver I’ve been throwing.

I’m not sure what to try from here.
