I absolutely LOVE my OXO SoftWorks 5Lb Food Scale with Pull Out Display. The scale has a small footprint so it doesn’t take up much room at all. It is really simple to use as well. I do suggest keeping the quick set up guide handy for the first use or two.

But it is seriously very easy to use! The Zero Out feature really makes measuring multiple ingredients in quick succession very efficient. I use this scale multiple times a day, almost every single day! I keep a food diary and some of the portion sizes are measured in grams.

This scale definitely helps to keep my portion sizes in check, for sure. I highly recommend this small kitchen scale from OXO. It’s a very high quality, easy to operate and space-saving kitchen scale.

When I first saw this scale I was a little skeptic about the need for a pull-out display, but it had other great features so I chose it anyway. Now a month into owning this scale, I gotta say I love the pull-out display! I use it with my large OXO mixing bowls, or simply with a plate for weighing food.

Another thing I really love this scale, and I do mean love, is that I can seamlessly switch between grams, kilos, pounds and ounces by pushing a button by the display, it really comes in handy for baking! (My old scale can switch between grams and ounces, but it has to be done underneath the scale so you never really switch between the two units.

) The display is well lit, easy to read and it stays on for a long time, remembering the weight of what you were weighing for up to 15 minutes before it turns off. It’s a great scale, my only thing would be that I’d love for it to add the option for 0.

The first thing I noticed and LOVED was the modest cardboard packaging. It’s in a small, thin, right plastic sleeve marked with its recycling number (7) and packed in a small, thin, right-sized cardboard box.

WOW!!! Someone is actually thinking about packaging. THANK YOU! The scale seems great. It’s big enough that you can put a full-sized mixing bowl on it and still read the numbers. The two buttons which control the read-out are pretty intuitive, I figured it out quickly without struggling.

There are no instructions included, just a little itty bitty brochure with a website for more info. It’s very easy to use the buttons, turn on/off, zero it out, etc. It came with a battery installed (and protected by one of those plastic thingies you pull out) and with a backup battery too! It’s super thin, easy to store.

I grabbed this little scale for the price range and was overly impressed once it arrived! It is sleek, thin and lightweight. You can see in my picture that it’s about the thickness of a pen! So it’s easy to store and doesn’t take up a lot of space, and is not bulky.

The last scale I had was just the opposite. I love that it doesn’t take up much space. I use it for mailing clothing and small items and weighing those items. It has been right on target with every weight since they also get mailed when I take them to the post office.

It was easy to use, I didn’t have to look at any instructions. Took it right out of the box, pulled off the batter tab and started using it! EASY! And it came with an extra battery which is insanely helpful, because who has extra of those anyway! Thrilled with this scale, you shouldn’t hesitate.

I am very pleased with the kitchen scale from Greater Goods. Its very lightweight and sleek design. I love the digital display that is very easy to read! The scale is so easy and convenient to use. It works perfectly well and very efficient.

I really liked how easy it is to clean up after every use. The scale comes with a fully loaded lithium battery v3 (CR2032) and another extra one for later use. With just a light touch of a finger I can change the weight to gram, pound, oz or ml whichever I would like to use.

Yet again, I purchased something from Zulily without doing more investigation about the item’s features. Last time it was a pet food bowl that turned out to be too small, and now it’s a scale that doesn’t have enough decimal points.

I use a scale primarily for weighing packages to mail, and also for weighing yarn in order to know how much I used for a project. My smaller scale works great for yarn, but when preparing packages for Christmas mailing, I couldn’t see the screen readout when a large package was being weighed.

So, I purchased this one before looking elsewhere for more details (most product descriptions here are skimpy). It will display ounces (the unit I primarily use) and tenths of ounces (as well as pounds + ounces).

For most things, that’s sufficient, but when weighing yarn I need it to go to one more decimal point to get an accurate weight of the skein. So, it does what it’s supposed to do, and if you’re using it for food measurements the equivalency charts on top are handy, which is why I do recommend it as a general purpose scale.

I’ll keep this for when I have to mail something large, but I also have to keep my old one for yarn. So much for paring down the stuff in my house, at least when it comes to scales.

Do not buy this product. I received one as a gift, and after a time of conventional use, the digital read-out would only display an “EEEE” message. I replaced the battery with a new one, but still only got an “EEEE” message.

I wrote the company several times to ask what the “EEEE” meant and what I could do about it, but never got a response. I see other reviewers indicate having the same problem. Why pay for a product that seems designed for obsolescence, produced by a company that is uncommunicative and provides no on-line manual?.

I only have a small kitchen so these in theory were perfect for me. I’ve had these a while now but I dont use them often only for baking birthday cakes mainly. Started off ok but soon realised how inaccurate the scales are.

I was getting some really odd results with my cakes which has never happened before. When paying more attention I soon realised that these scales were so poor, giving completely different readings for the same ingredients in the same bowl each time I reset and started again.

They’re not the cheapest scales either but have had to ditch them. Really disappointed. DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL.

Love theses scales! Had some before but my granddaughter put them in the dishwasher! They did work for awhile after – but wouldn’t change from lbs and Oz’s- so hence the replacement. They are small, so take up no room, very easy to use.

Great scale. We use it for weighting steaks. It is important to be as exact as you can be for truth in your menu but also for reusing trimmings for other revenues. We use all our beef trimmings in our hamburger we grind ourself.

So it is very important the staff knows an ounce heavy on 16 steaks could either additional steaks to sell or trimmings for burgers. Very accurate it’s important to make sure that you wipe it down completely.

Sometimes stuff gets under the lid.

This is the fourth – and last – scale I have purchased. Never a day of trouble. Does not shut off when you’re mid-way in weighing something. The scale bed simply lifts off for thorough cleaning. The battery power option is a nice to have but I always use the transformer to not have to mess about with batteries.

We purchased this scale about 2 years ago and it still works perfectly, we haven’t even changed the batteries. The scale registers quickly, provides consistent measurement and has a big easy to read display.

The tare feature lets you subtract the weight of any container you are using, and its quickly switched between ounces and grams. Great deal.

Now I have a clue why this was on sale. The unit I received was actually very attractive, easy to read and use. The main issue is mine fails to weigh consistently. I am using it to measure out doses.

If there is not consistency and complete accuracy, then every dose is an experiment! There is very poor Tech support. I am SOOOOOOOO over hearing COVID as an excuse for everything!.

This is my first electronic scale and I don’t know what I’d do without it. I have never made a better purchase. Just handle it carefully use on a flat surface, don’t abuse it. If you feel readings are inaccurate, make sure the plate/whatever on the scale isn’t touching a nearby object not on the scale, which sort of lifts the food unpredictability.

Weighs from 1 gram to 10 plus pounds (sorry don’t have documentation here) and in pounds/ounces, grams, kg, or ml. The “tare” feature is terrific and it took me a while to understand it so: put a plate on the scale, turn it on, the display shows zero.

Add food to the plate until you get 100 grams or whatever. Tap the on button and the display again shows zero. Now add the next food you want, like before. SOOOO handy. Good looking scales too. Battery holds up.

I needed a digital scale for some training sessions with my job (restaurants). I was traveling to stores that may or may not have scales to properly follow recipes. An accurate scale is critical for ensuring consistent meals for customers across the brand.

This scale was perfect. I used a 1 lb. scientific weight to ensure accuracy. The readout is very bright and easy to see. The various settings allowed for two-decimal measurement of ounces, or accurate gram measurements.

The scale is well-packaged which makes it great for traveling from one location to another (or safely storing between uses). While this is not a commercial scale designed for heavy use 365 days per year, it is certainly well built and suited for either home recipe prep or occasional commercial/training use.

I have had this for @2years. Flexible use, can toggle between various measurement units with a button press. Can tare weight for a bowl/container. Simple to clean, small size for storage. Purchased to weigh produce from Farmer’s market, so we would know the amount to purchase the next week.

Discovered so many other uses! Now I can note weights of meat/fish for the freezer, grains etc. for storage. Although we use @3 times per week, in 2 (plus) years we haven’t had to replace the batteries.

Our previous kitchen scale finally died, so we were forced to buy a new one. I’ve never heard of the INEVIFIT brand, but the reviews were promising, so I ordered this one. Our old scale was around 10 years old and only provided weights for a couple of different metrics (grams and ounces, if I remember correctly).

One of the bigger selling points on this one is that it allows a plethora of different options for units. I normally weigh my ingredients in grams, but having the option to use ounces, pounds, lb/oz, etc.

is awesome!We don’t send postal mail very often, but we have done so a few times since we bought this. Rather than digging out our clunky, old postal scale that we have to plug into the wall, we’ve relied on this several times to weight packages and letters.

It seems to be accurate in it’s readings as we haven’t had any of those postal items returned for insufficient postage. When cooking, it did seem relatively insensitive when adding very small amounts of food.

For example, it didn’t seem to pick up the weight when sprinkling spices into a bowl directly from the little spice jar. I got around this though by zeroing the scale with the bowl on it, taking the bowl off the scale and adding my spices to the bowl, and then putting the bowl with spices in it back on the scale.

I’m not professional chef or anything, and extreme sensitivity isn’t important to me so I’m not going to dock the rating on this just for that. I love that the scale is battery powered, because it makes it very easy for me to move it around the kitchen as needed rather than having to bring the food to the scale.

I was slightly disappointed that it uses AAA batteries though instead of the button-cell batteries. I had a stock of button cell batteries that I used for my old kitchen scale that I’m not sure what I’m going to do with.

However, that’s just a personal preference and doesn’t impact the functionality of the scale itself, so I’m not going to dock the rating for that either. Overall, this scale is been a great addition to our kitchen and the upgrades over our old one have been a welcome introduction as well.

I purchased this scale because I need to be able to accurately measure small quantities of below 1, and below. 5 grams. After banging my head against the wall for a few minutes trying to figure out why the scale would only read 1 or 0 as I was trying to measure.

9 grams, I read the instruction booklet and saw a note saying that the scale rounds up or down to 1 and. 5. This makes the scale totally useless to me, and I’m beyond infuriated. Just why?? There’s no way to measure anything precisely accurate with this.

Definitely called a 420 garden scale but have no issues with the cross-functionality of this scale. I use it for baking and cooking. I had a similar Ozeri scale that lasted me YEARS but finally broke when too much water seeped in.

I bought this early January and use it every day. The feature of turning off automatically within a set time if not using saves the batteries. I only wanted basic black or silver, but it comes in an assortment of pretty colors if that is what you want.

Top is easy to clean, no crevasses to hold dirt. Light weight and slim to easily fit in a cabinet when not in use. There is a less expensive model with fewer features, but t doesn’t hold as much weight, that is why I went with this model.

I don’t use the calorie counter feature, but if I did it doesn’t distinguish if the kilocalorie (Kcal) calculation for beef or chicken is raw or cooked. Cooked Kcal calculation for cooked chicken and beef is higher than raw.

I suspect the Kcal calculation for the foods is for raw.

I was surprised by the heft of the scale when I picked up the package. After opening, it looked like a tablet, with a nice black glass surface. Makes for easy cleaning. I like the easy-to-use controls, don’t need the Calorie counter buttons, I’m not a weight watcher.

Was very impressed when I place a one-pound test weight on the scale. It read 16. 00 ounces. A very nice scale indeed, no complaints especially for the price. Highly recommended.

I really like this scale a lot. Unfortunately, I really can’t love it. And, at the moment, I am pardon the pun, weighing the prod and cons of keeping it. Pros: It’s a really nice size and shape. Great design for easily fitting bowels and whatever vessel you have to weigh something in.

The scale is accurate. I love that it is weighable to. 00 oz, which a lot of scales aren’t, and it even comes with it’s own batteries. I really like it, but cannot love it, due to the fact that the buttons and display are so shoddy.

The feel of the buttons when you depress them reminds me of what electronic displays used to look and feel like in the early 80’s during the days of the Walkman. Although it is technically a digital display, the numbers are small and the display doesn’t light up! So if you have bad eyesight and are planning on doing a lot of weighing, you might find this scale frustrating.

I was skeptical when I saw the price but figured at this price I’d take a gamble. To test it, I measured different items of known weight. It reads accurately and consistently to a fraction of an ounce.

Wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen it. So, after pricing up competing similar models at much higher prices, I bought a 2nd one of this brand just to have a spare.

I’ve had my eye on this scale with its pull out face for a while, so it was an easy choice when my 20 year old digital kitchen scale went irreparably awry. The other features (tare weight, choice of pounds or kilograms) are pretty common.

It’s larger and takes up a little more counter space than my old scale. Clean lines, attractive, the stainless is pretty neutral. Only rated 4 stars because the stainless weighing platform is highly polished, and already acquired 2 small scratches just from the clean glass jars I used to test it out.

Brushed stainless wouldn’t look quite as fancy, but would be a better choice by the manufacturer, IMO. Clearly, this is quickly going to get scratched up through use. Not an issue for me, but if a pristine perfect look is important to you, I would say keep looking.

This product really doesn’t do much that a $20 scale can’t do, but it’s worth the upgrade if you’re baking frequently. The base the put bowls on is wide and easy to clean. The display is bright, large, and can be pulled out so it isn’t obstructed by large bowls.

Readout responds very quickly. Can handle large quantities. That being said, there are drawbacks. First, it is fairly large. It only does the basic functions. Some people have noted that it isn’t very accurate for small weights (within a few grams).

That is true but, as a chemist, inaccurate measurement at the extremely low end of a scale’s range is common to all scales, regardless of price. If you need to accurately measure a few grams consider a scale meant for milligram weights.

This is my third time buying this scale, yes unfortunately they eventually wear out. Out of trying out many different types, this has been the most accurate over time and is by far the most user friendly.

I add a little. 0g. I add a little more. 0g. Add a little more, 4g? What happened? Tear the scale and put the 4g back on and now it’s 14g. This is extremely frustrating. This scale does not do that. If a scale could have perfection, this is it.

I bought this around 2018, so I could check my proteins, fiber and other stuff. At first it was cool. You get a booklet that has the codes which you have to type in. However you would be able to use the phone (using a app, perfect portions) to get the codes there as well.

You need 2 batteries I forget what kind. It would of been helpful that (perfect portions) had the food codes from your computer. Pros: Works great. It also meatures the weight of the food. Cons: While you’re measuring your proteins, fiber and ect.

While the hands are all sticky. Washing your hands everytime so you could just use the book or phone app. Pefect Portions auto shuts off seems every 3 or 2 mins for me. Makes it difficult while measuring the peanuts and logging that, then other veggies as well.

Then shuts off. You have to start all over again typing that peanut code. There’s a lot of food codes. But other foods you want. For example if you buy two different tofu’s (not sure that has a code.

Lets say there’s a code for tofu. There would only be one code for the firm. Not extra firm or soft. Then you won’t really know the fiber and proteins.

I PLAN TO GIVE MFG A CALL TO SEE WHAT IS WRONG. THE INSTRUCTIONS SEEM SIMPLE, BUT WAS NOT CONSISTANT IN USING IT. DID NOT USE A DISH OR BOWL. TURNED ON WITH NO ERROR. LOOKED UP FOOD CODE; KEYED IN CODE; PUT FOOD ON SCALE.

DID NOT HAVE AN ENTER BUTTON OR KEY SO I PRESSED SAVE FOR THAT CODE BECAUSE IT WAS BLINKING BEFORE IT WENT AWAY. TRIED A COUPLE OF TIMES & WHEN I DID GET SOMETHING ON SCREEN IT DID NOT GIVE WEIGHT FOR THAT CODE EITHER.

I can’t remember the last time I did a review, but I’m doing one now because of the negative reviews I’ve seen for this product. I think the product is outstanding…but it might be important to know what I use it for.

The only way I am ever able to lose weight is to count calories. I’ve never had a better product to count calories. It works in either grams or ounces. The TARE feature is fabulous. What I did not realize after reading the instructions is that the TARE feature (leaving what is already on the scale but setting it back to ZERO at the push of a button) can be used continuously AS YOU ADD ITEMS TO A DISH…OR A BOWL…OR A DINNER PLATE.

This is extremely handy as you count the calories for a meal…I don’t have to keep weighing each item individually …I just put one plate or bowl on the scale, add my food one item at a time, and keep getting the new weight of the new item simply by pushing the TARE button and resetting the scale to zero.

Love this scale! I’ve gotten into the habit of weighing ingredients, rather than using measuring cups/spoons. At this point, I can’t (don’t like to) cook without a scale anymore. I also use it for portion control.

I chose this model because I wanted a scale with Increments to the 0. 00 ounce and I love the wacky colors. This one has an auto shut-off feature but stays on significantly longer than my previous scale which is a lot less frustrating when adding ingredients.

Highly recommended! I bought a second one for our teardrop camper and I’m back to buy another one for my husband to measure out epoxy in his shop.

I bought the Escali Primo to weigh espresso beans before and after grinding. The automatic tare function makes this incredibly easy. I turn the scale on with the lid of my Braun grinder on it. It registers 0g (I could change the units to ounces if I wished).

Then I scoop the beans onto the lid until the scale registers 20g. I tare the Escali with my empty Krups 170 portafilter, grind my beans and remove the portafilter to fill and tamp it. The Escali reads -32g.

When I place the portafilter back on the Escali, it reads 20g. Now that I know the portafilter weighs 32g I can simply weigh it when filled and it should register 52g, which it does. I have checked the calibration of the Escali with a set of brass weights from 50g to 1g and it is accurate.

I received the Etekcity Smart Nutrition Scale I ordered. I decided it was time to get healthy. I’ve been using this scale for a little over a month now and it is definitely a great product. You can control everything from your phone via Bluetooth.

This scale is perfect size to fit most foods, and weight is precise. It weighs in different units and has tare. The vesync app allows you to track your nutrition and the nutrition database is a blessing.

This scale is so handy. It can measure in all the unit types that I need and easily switches between them. I love that I can put an empty measuring cup on it to fill without counting it. It makes it easy to use.

It was a tad smaller than I expected; however it has been working great. I have been putting some pretty hefty plates and bowls on it so I can measure my food. Even with the bigger items, I can access the push buttons and read the numbers pretty easily.

The smaller and lighter features make it easy to carry when I travel. I might buy another one just for traveling. I have not had any issues due to traveling. Oh, and it seems very accurate and sensitive.

I purchased this from the good reviews, however my experience with it has been less than good. The scale isn’t sensitive enough to pick up on things I add it and will stay at zero. I have to restart and tare off and all of that 5 times in order to weigh my food.

I changed to new batteries too. It’s frustrating as it shouldn’t take me that many tries to measure my food. I would just invest in slightly higher price or better designs.

I purchased my scale about 3 years ago and use it often – almost daily. I’ve known Taylor to be in foodservice industry for years, so felt it was a reliable name – knowing nothing else about scales at the time.

I purchased this style scale because it didn’t take up much space and would blend with my stainless appliances. In contrast to the other review on the product, I am absolutely satisfied that the size is compact and have never had a problem weighing anything – I simply use a small dish, bowl, or plate, press the “tare” button, and then add the food.

Because of the inconspicuous design, I store it on top of my microwave within quick reach and I don’t get a look/feel of ‘clutter’. I like the capacity of 11 lbs. vs. the other brands who only handle up to 6-8 lbs.

This scale is wonderful for many uses. I use mine for weighing ingredients for recipes, but I can also use it to weigh mail before sending. It uses only two AAA batteries that sold nearly everywhere, and the first set is included with the product.

If I can determine the weight in grams, I can figure out how many yards I have left and what I can do with the scraps. This thing is so incredibly useful for so many things! And it’s priced right and has the best features (e.

g. , the pull out display, the easy tare operation. ) I have a couple of the other styles and makes of scales. Most are limited to kitchen use, with a small bowl to hold your mince or diced veggies, but this baby does it all.

This is a great scale — I honestly don’t think I’ll every hit the generous 5lb limit. It takes up such a small space on my counter top, is super easy to use, and cleans up nicely! I could even store it in my drawer if I wanted.

I’ve owned a few different scales in the past and I have to say this is my favorite so far. I own some other OXO kitchen products and always have found them to be high quality and well made! Definitely a great buy for yourself or anyone that you know that loves to bake (it makes measuring all in one bowl a breeze) or cook or for anyone watching their portion sizes as well! I give it 5 stars!.

This is a good little tool and performs exactly as promised. I’ve only had it a month or so but it was used right through the Christmas period and did its job well. The only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars is that there is one tiny glitch that became increasingly annoying.

The display takes about a second to register a change in weight. So, if you’re pouring flour or whatever into a bowl, it doesn’t update constantly but lags slightly, making it hard and slow to get to the exact weight you want and far too easy to overshoot.

According to ATK all of the scales they tested were accurate, but this Oxo scale has much more to recommend it. First, it weighs up to a maximum of eleven pounds, much more than other kitchen scales.

Second, it has a memory, so it remembers the last weight reading if the machine turns off to save the battery life. This feature is also a great help when sequentially weighing recipe ingredients into the same bowl.

Third, there is a switch to light up the screen for easier viewing of the weight. Finally, I love the fact that the screen can be pulled away from the weighing platform so that one can read the weight even when food is being weighed in a large container that covers the viewing screen.

I recommend this scale without reservation.

IšverstiShow in original languageGot this scale from Santa (I gave Santa a picture of the scale and a 20% discount coupon and sent him on his way). I like the (1) screen clarity, (2) size of the base, (3) the ability to zero out the weight of the dish and also as I add things to the dish (4) the pull away display unit, (5) the quickness system responds, (6) it sits well on counter top without being in the way but always readily available (7) and the stainless steel unit matches my current appliances.

I have not found a single con as yet. Previously, I was using a non-digital scale that was spring loaded. When I compared the two scales, there was a difference of 1 ounce every 3 or 4 ounces. I suspect the manual spring loaded one was giving the inaccurate measurements.

A couple weeks after receiving my scale, I had a friend visiting from out of town and she decided to also get a scale, but she got a $20. cheaper brand (with coupon) than my OXO. Both scales run on a battery, but can’t say how long the battery lasts for either scale.

Both scales weighed the food the same, but my OXO scale brought it out two decimal places and hers was one decimal place. So this test tells me my OXO scale was definitely the accurate one in my first test with my old non-digital scale.

My OXO scale screen was easier to read because even without pulling the display closer to me, the small dish being used didn’t cover it like it did on her scale. Her base was smaller. The time (moments actually) it took for my OXO to turn on was faster than hers, and the time my OXO took to calculate the food weight was faster than hers.

None of these differences are a deal breaker for either scale, but my OXO had a better convenience factor. I chose this scale because it had gotten several 5 star reviews and because of the pull out display (even though I haven’t really needed that option yet).

Her scale has not received any reviews as of yet.

IšverstiShow in original languageWe love this scale. It is accurate and easy to use. We have used it when weighing food for losing weight and to maintain weight loss and also to know quantities of food OR other things ( such as mail ).

It easily zero’s out so you can put on your plate and press the button and the weight goes to zero. Then you can add your food to the plate and even then zero it out if you want again. It easily converts from ounces/pounds to grams.

In addition you can pull out the front part to see all of this if the plate covers the readings. The metal part comes off easily for cleaning. This scale is sturdy unlike some of the others I have seen.

Basically, you get what you pay for when buying a scale. Others may cost less but this is a great sturdy scale that I trust. I might add that our scale is 2 or 3 years old and I am just writing this review and it is working great still.

I use this to weigh the hay I place in the horses’ hay nets. I found it to be very accurate and tough. It’s been dropped a few times! You do need to check it for accuracy on occasion and calibrate it if necessary, which is pretty simple.

A good buy for the price. I have 2 and one is about 18 months old, no issues at all.

Very well built polished stainless steel with large easy to see measurements. It has an easy to reach adjustment for the +/- directly under the bowl cradle. It’s a solid straight forward design that fits in any modern kitchen.

About the only downside I see is that the bottom is straight stainless steel to the counter top as it has no rubber feet or pad. Not a big deal, just don’t drag it around but rather pick it up and place it on a towel or cutting pad of sorts.

Will make a fine addition to my sausage making set up as I work in 10 lb batches.

I bought this scale a few years ago. You can’t adjust it to zero to allow for hay bags or bucket weight even though Taylor customer service told me there was some screw on the bottom that you could adjust for tare weight with.

I never did figure it out – besides who’d care to get out a screwdriver every time! I’ve got too many large mouths to feed for that. Eventually, the scale wouldn’t even go back to zero with no weight on it.
