20 Best Food Processors Under $100 (2023 Updated)

I was eyeing this food processor for a while, trying to decide if I should splurge or not. I had an old Cuisinart 11 cup that was a good machine in its day. However, I had to replace one of the parts in the lid and it was not cheap.

The quality of that replacement part was not good. I then went to a store to check out the Breville, as I had been hearing some good things. The difference in quality is night and day. While it seems expensive, you really do get quite a few pieces in the kit.

I’ve had enough time now to try everything out and I must say I am impressed. The peeling is pretty amazing, as long as you are reasonable in your expectations. A small bit of cleanup is necessary, but the time savings is tremendous.

The small bowl is something I didn’t think I would need/use, but it’s really nice. The S blades are great. They do a nice job. I don’t know if it’s the design or the power or both, but it’s more consistent than my old machine.

The variable slicing disc is awesome. I had multiple slicing discs for my old machine and having one adjustable disc is great. The timer is also a nice feature for peeling and kneading dough. The base is weighty, so the machine doesn’t “jump” when kneaded nag, etc.

I leave mine on the counter, but I could see it being difficult to take out/put away. I’m very happy with my purchase and should get many years of use. I checked replacement part pricing and it is reasonable.

Customer support seems good as well from what I’ve seen in the review/comment sections. This is my second Breville product (the other is a waffle iron) and I am impressed with both from a quality and usability perspective).

My only gripe is that the 8mm and 16mm dicing kits are optional and are hard to find in stock. Mine are on back order. I wish there was a SKU that included all 3 sizes of dicing.

I bought this in December 2021 and LOVE it! I debated the price for a of couple months after searching for a quality food processor – I was replacing supposedly the best processors on a yearly basis and was tired of the expense and inconvenience of replacements.

THIS Breville peel and dice is awesome. I have severe osteoarthritis in my hands, yet love to cook. This has made dicing, slicing, pureeing, peeling, etc a breeze. It is QUIET and FAST! I only wash the parts by hand to keep them like new.

This is a powerful machine. In fact the motor is so heavy that I keep the appliance on my counter. The combined space that the appliance and parts caddy uses is 11″ deep x 19″ wide x 18″ high. Due to low cabinets, I keep the lid off to the side on a small glass try, so my space used is actually 13″ high x 28″ wide.

I bought mine with significant savings on Bed Bath & Beyond and received $50 back (that I used for air purifier filters). This is a great GIFT for yourself or a loved one! It will last for years.

Have this beast and what a beast or should maybe call it a gentle giant for under 2 months now. very well made & designed ;is certainly pricey but hoping it is a life time investment. Aim was to get rid of many of my other gadgets and keep one only however realised that I do need to keep my smoothie maker and does not juice but was aware of the juicer aspect Base is certainly heavy so need to be left out and that also makes me use it more often Took me almost 4 hrs to figure out how to use various parts but got there with sage / ytube videos Herbs are great as long as you pulse them and they don’t become mushy! Small bowl is great and I have not overfilled that so no spilling over.

Quad blade for cake mixes doughs including a variety of Indian bread doughs but dough blade is required for pizza / bread dough Managed to do peppercorns into pepper but not done any other spices as not sure if it will damage the bowls.

Dicing is brilliant and the pusher is certainly needed to push the bits left on the blade and make sure the presser is aligned to the blade properly. Didn’t realise that it only comes with the mid size dicer so did end up having to spend just under another a lot more for the smaller and larger dicer.

French fries and slicing could not be better Peeling potatoes Carrots and fresh ginger is a dream ,make sure all your veg is completely dry for the machine to deliver it s best you do need space to store all the bits and only thing I have not mastered is fitting the potatoes peeler disc back in the bottom tray so the top tray sits properly on top in order to store sideways.

Would I recommend it – Absolutely! was unsure if it was the right purchase for a household doing lots of Indian /Gujarati cooking too ! We got our first Cuisinart 40+ years ago as a wedding present. This is our third. We replaced the previous 2 when critical parts broke. In each case it was an improvement. This new (giant) model has better features than our 20-year old one that worked great until the plastic spindle cracked.

We figure 20 years is good proof of quality. We have other kitchen gadgets, but there are a couple of tasks for which a “food processor” is simply the only thing that will do. This new one is powerful, effective and has a couple of upgrades over our last.

We went for the giant size because we sometimes needed to run batches in our smaller one. All functions we’ve tried work fine in the big version. We still make smoothies in a blender, but it’s intolerably loud compared to the Cuisinart.

Quiet is a virtue! The new adjustable slicing thickness is a great idea. The gasket at the top makes it more pleasant to work with hot, wet materials. The feeder tube is improved. Having an extra small bowl is also clever; extending the central spindle is a great idea, if it proves durable.

And the “no-leak” feature is really smart. Previously, pouring liquids out of the bowl meant dexterously catching the blade as it dropped into your soup. We are looking forward to trying the slow-dough kneading speed.

The dough blade in our previous never really worked for us. The only real issue is that you need a serious amount of storage space for the enormous, heavy base, the giant bowl(s) and the huge attachment box.

If you’ve never become dependent on a food processor, don’t start with this one — go for the standard size and let it grow on you. But we can vouch for the Cuisinart brand in terms of overall fitness for purpose and durability.

It won’t replace our mixer or the cursed blender for some things, but we will probably use this a few times a month for the next 20 years.

Cuisineart has always been my go to brand for processing foods. I love all the attachments and capabilities which makes: slicing, shredding, purée and blending a breeze. This particular model comes with a fluid bowl as well as the main cup.

I use it when I make sauces. I do like this version because I found a previous version stained red when I used it for chilies and red sauce. This cup is still its natural tint without discoloring. Clean up is also a breeze but be very careful when cleaning the blades as they are extremely sharp.

Overall, I would buy this again if my machine were to ever quit on me. So far my last one has lasted over 7 years. My teen accidentally cracked the main bowl and i cannot find a replacement so that was the only reason I got a new larger one.

One thing I must add. when shredding cabbage, lettuce or anything of the sort; those items do need to be sliced in 4-6 pieces to fit into the top housing to be shredded; otherwise no other cutting is necessary.

I love the possibilities of my processor and suggest anyone looking to save their knives and hands of all the chopping to use this. What took me 40 minutes or more now takes seconds. Buy it, you won’t regret it!.

There are flaws with this food processor. Flaws with using the processor include, first, the instructions should include how to assemble and attach the parts of the big bowl, small bowl and lid. Very difficult, frustrating and time-consuming to figure out.

Next, if you try chopping small items in small amounts such as capers in the large bowl, it will NOT chop them. No matter what speed or pulse you have it on it immediately thrusts them to the bottom outer rim of the bowl, un-chopped.

Not sure whether the small bowl does this as well – I don’t want to dirty or hassle with changing to the smaller bowl when I’m already working with the big bowl. Another flaw, when blending various foods together in the big bowl small amounts of the un-blended foods conglomerate around the bottom of the center spindle.

So, when you scoop or pour out the mixed ingredients – there is un-bleneded food left around the center spindle. Also, food splatters all up inside the lid and it’s crevices, making it difficult to clean.

Problems with shredding: Using the feed tube, pieces of shredded foods get compacted and jammed in crevices in the lid. So tight you have to keep stopping your shredding and get a knife to dig them out.

What a pain. Additionally, it has a poor shredding design. Using the feed tube and adhering to the instructions that come with the processor – when you put a fruit or vegetable into the feed tube it doesn’t cut the final piece uniformly & it leaves a large section of the fruit or vegetable un-cut when completed, so you end up having to slice or cut that part by hand.

A serious flaw: shredding cheese has it’s problems with this processor. Same thing happens as with the vegetables described above – a large piece of cheese at the final stage not getting shredded and you have to shred it by hand.

And worse, what a pain digging out the mushed, impacted cheese from the crevices in the lid! So much time spent cleaning and digging it out – may as well use the old fashioned hand shredder. In addition, the cheese shredder makes long strands of cheese, not short shreds.

Doesn’t really work well for some dishes. Last, it took several times and cracking a plastic piece from the multi-piece lid for me to start remembering to never lay the multi-piece lid upside down after using it on the food processor.

The lid has integrated within it the feed tube and a couple plastic parts within the feed tube that fall out when you start to turn it over – crash, crack!.

Color: matte black. I had Kitchenaid 5 cup food processor for over 20 years and the lid broke, I tried to order replacement, but Kitchenaid said it was too old of a model. So I ordered this instead. This is such a cute and compact food chopper that takes up little space on my baker’s rack.

This is a food chopper and not a food processor that was my mistake. Just make sure to read the description so you order the right product. There are no buttons for continuous spinning, just a pulsing button that is built into the lid.

You cannot turn this machine on and walk away. I like how the lid has a spout to slowly pour in liquids, very neat idea. It performs well and solid quality piece. It is relatively quiet food processor.

I had a Ninja food processor and that machine was so loud! With the Ninja, you had to leave the room or put ear plugs in. Kitchenaid is much more quiet. Now the challenges with this machine, it has a learning curve.

You have to attach the base just right and then turn to hear it click in place, be patient. If not locked in place correctly the machine won’t turn on. The power button is on the lid close to the handle, you pulse until you get the right consistency.

I mainly use this to make pie crust. 1 pie crush with butter completely fills this container, but I love using the spout to add the water to combine the dough. It gets 4 stars because it is not as easy to use, but it is a quality product.

This is a truly Kitchenaid device. The looks, the engine, the easiness to use: it’s all like I’m used to by being a Kitchenaid Fanatic. It is a small food chopper, which makes it easy to store between your pans.

Storing it there will help you to remind you to use it: although it’s a pretty chopper, it’s too useful to let it in your kitchen cupboard. Once you get it out, you can use it to cut vegetables like raw onions, carrots and tomatoes for salads (short use of the shopper) or soup (longer use).

But also to prepare meat for dog food, or to make powder sugar or chocolate sprinkles. Between all those cutting sessions, you easily clean bowl, lit and knife in the dishwasher. There is one thing we had to learn by using it: opening the lid.

It’s done by turning it off, which is a lot different then just trying to tear it off. But, once you figured that out, it’s easy to close it. Once closed and attached to electricity, you just put it on by closing the lid with your thumb.

Lift your thumb, and it will immediately stop chopping. This makes it easy to dose how small you want your sugar/veggies/meat or chocolate. There is only 1 switch on it: to differ between cutting hard and cutting really hard.

I have too many kitchen aid major and counter appliances to count. You can always depend on their consistent superiority. I have 11 cup, 7 cup processors and now 3cup chopper for small jobs. All serve their purpose well.

Many of my appliances were direct KA refurbished purchases, I’ve not had one issue; all look and function just as new purchase products. My only appliance issue has been stand mixers, each caused by user error/overloading gears.

I have sent two mixers for repair, service was exceptional- quick and reasonable cost. One is my deceased mothers 25+ year old stand mixer which has significant value for me. It was quickly and economically repaired to like new status and shipped back to me within a week of service.

The initial expense may be more than others but having a product which will last your lifetime makes it far more economical than buying inferior brands that will need replaced multiple times. A relative has my great grandmothers stand mixer which is far older than I am, it continues to function better than I do.

I haven’t owned a food processor for many years and haven’t felt the need. My greatest complaint with the original machines was the noise they created. Like a jet engine. But at the end of this year I saw recipes recommending the use of a food processor.

I took another look and saw the reviews. There were many comments on the low noise level and new features such as the bread paddle. Now I LOVE my Cuisinart food processors. I have a larger Cuisinart GP-14DCN Elite Collection for small to med to large jobs which I liked so much that I didn’t hesitate to purchase a second little Cuisinart DLC-2ABC mini prep plus for small jobs.

I use them both several times a week. Sturdy, quiet, time saving. The blade is reversible and cuts in both directions. Great for my KETO diet. I can quickly mix a one serving shake in the mini prep and it’s easier to clean than my large blender.

I had assembled the unit and kept pressing the buttons “chop” and “grind”, but they didn’t go down. I thought maybe the plastic covering over those buttons might need to be removed, and started peeling at the edge, when I realized that it would take off the labels.

So I thought I had bought a non-working appliance. It was not until I turned the cover until it locked into the little post (which I hadn’t known what it was for previously) that it worked. I hadn’t seen that note in the instructions until after I had tried everything else.

I guess it was my unfamiliarity with that kind of appliance that caused me to overlook it. Now I am happy with it; but so far have only used it to chop onions and celery–which was the main purpose I wanted it for.

No doubt I will find other uses for it in future.

I love this chopper. It is my second one. One design flaw is the cover. I had to replace my first one because the safety extension on the cover, broke off. If it was shorter, maybe it wouldn’t be so easy to snap off? Other than that this is a very handy appliance – doesn’t take up a lot of room on the counter and is efficient for chopping onions, peppers etc.

without overprocessing and less to clean up than a full size processor. I missed it so much figuring I would just use my big food processor instead, that I had to repurchase. I guess it’s a must have! :).

Breville is Breville, and this system elicits the warm fuzzies I get from my Dyson cordless vacuum, the solidly engineered parts click together so smartly and work so well. The 16-oz version of this model is the one you see on the cooking shows.

This smaller size is more practical in home kitchens. The mini-bowl in the indispensable “Plus” kit is superb for smaller jobs, and the variable-thickness slicer actually stays at the size you set it to, unlike other brands’ cutters (according to reviews I’ve read).

One detail: that dough hook implement is buried deeply enough in the wonderful accessories box that I missed it, thought that it hadn’t been packed in my kit, and requested a replacement (CS was superb on the matter).

Then, while figuring out how to ensconced it in the box, I discovered that a dough hook was indeed lurking in one of the wells. Black on black and buried deep, but don’t make my mistake! Seek and ye shall find.

I have several food processors (from largest to smallest and going back many years) all relegated to my basement, from at least three different manufacturers. Lacking satisfaction for various reasons, I finally decided to explore Breville food processors, since I’ve had (and love) two of their countertop ovens–one passed on to a friend to make room for a newer model.

My niece had bought the full-site Breville a year ago and highly recommended it. I was looking to replace another (and smaller) brand that I had returned for a refund. Thus, I still needed a smaller model, given changing cooking needs and counter space.

Took the plunge for the Breville Sous Chef 12 Plus. It out performs in every way any other food processor I’ve ever owned. Ease of use, power of the motor, speed of performance, ease of cleaning, sharpest blades, compact size, feed tube/pusher options, blade-storage caddy, et al.

Breville, you have me in your clutches even tighter; never let go and keep pleasing me above all other brands!.

This processor has many good reviews but few speak to the real issues such as lack of parts. I purchased this unit as Christmas gift for chopping and dicing but eventually found out that I required an additional ‘dicing kit’ in order to dice properly.

Unfortunately these are not easily found, sold out almost everywhere. I managed to find a kit only to then find out that this kit now requires a ‘geared spindle’ and should not be used with the included ‘disc spindle’.

This was only mentioned in the fine print of the dicing kit and no customer review mentioned this. Some reviews do mention difficulties finding replacements bowls and declining customer service in recent years.

The geared spindle is available in the US but does not ship to Canada. The geared spindle is sold out everywhere outside of the US and no can tell me if or when these might be available again. While I have not used the machine yet, I would NOT recommend the Breville sous chef if dicing is needed.

This unit requires too many additional kits and parts that are not readily available.

Magimix make great machines ! I’ve had several! However this brand new on with purchased from very has arrived with scratches all over it! Two of them pretty deep and to the nicest part of the machine ( The body ) even most of the accessories are scratched! The other thing I’ve noticed that I’ve not before because of the weight of the machine but I have this time is that I don’t even know if the body is actually stainless steel or if it’s just plastic that is painted in a stainless steel colour , I thought it was stainless steel because it felt quite cold but the more I look now and examine it the more I am certain it’s plastic! I mentioned this because it’s quite a bit More expensive for the satin ( stainless steel look ) one over the other machines ! It’s quite misleading! I am going to contact very about the damage on mine ! They try to wriggle out of things by saying it’s non returnable because you didn’t take insurance but it’s a whole different law for faulty/damaged goods so we shall see where we get with it ! Really quite angry about it though! It’s not a cheap machine so you kind of expect perfect!.

I bought this item to replace a Kenwood processor but have been extremely disappointed as it has major design flaws. These include: 1. When making pizza dough, the dough is sucked up into the inside of the dough blade making it virtually impossible to get out (you would need to purchase special small brushes to clean it).

2. When using the grater attachment, not all of the vegetable is grated – you are left with chunks of ungrateful vegetable hidden amongst the grated vegetable. These all need then to be cut up by hand.

3. The 3 bowl system is not practical as when using the smaller bowls you get spillage into the bigger bowls so you have the added problem of washing all the bowls when this happens. They are so close together it is very difficult to stop this happening.

4. Despite the mention of how powerful it is for liquidising with the extra soup attachment, I found it was not as effective as my older much cheaper processor and I need to liquidise for longer. In terms of positive comments, the only positive one I can make is that it looks nice and the bowls are sturdy.

i bought this food processor and spent the extra money thinking i was getting a product that had value, would be well made, would make me wonder why i hadnt bought it sooner, esp after reading some of the reviews after 1 month all i can say is, am i missing something? because this was clearly a waste of money! the juice press – its so bad i have to strain the juice because there is so much pulp and fibre in it, also clean up the mess from the bowl because there is no pour spout so the juice ends up going everywhere.

the small bowl – can barely hold anything and when you do try to use it, it flows over into the medium bowl, causing more clean up the food shoot – you have to pre cut all your vegies so small just to fit under the fill line, you might as well continue chopping.

the processor simply will not run unless they are chopped small the dough attachment – first time i used it, it could barely handle it, dough ended up everywhere, a complete mess and ended up having to transfer to my kMix.

i should have bought the smaller model and just kept my expectations in level with a basic food processor. severely disappointed.

I love my Elemental 13 Cup Food Processor with Dicing. I use it almost every day that I cook. I make everything I can from scratch. I made a pumpkin cheese cake with homemade pumpkin puree. I have used every attachment.

In the small bowl I made a cheese dip and almond butter. I like the adjustments with the slicer, the grater is fun with the two different sizes. The dicer I found takes a little bit of a learning curve, make sure that what you want to dice fits snugly into the opening and keep dicing until you are finished.

Use softer foods first. Don’t be afraid to use some force with the pusher tool. I put the dicing grid on my cutting board to push the food through. I made pizza dough and had to hold the food processor down to stop it from shaking like an uneven loaded dyer.

I like the caddy that holds the attachments although it would have been better if it also held the instruction and recipe booklet. I’m giving five stars because this machine has done everything I want with no problem.

It is light weight which is good because I keep it on top of my fridge. Although it is light weight the motor is plenty powerful, no problem making my pizza dough and almond butter. I make my own soups and using the food processor not only saves time it produces consistent slices and dices making for evenly cooked foods.

Cooking from scratch means you decide what goes in your food and where it comes from.

I have been using the original Cuisinart for 35 years. This one was a big disappointment. The motor was extremely noisy and the buttons difficult to push. The slicer and shredder wobbled, and I had to hold down the power button continuously to grate cheddar cheese.

The food pusher is too small for potatoes, cucumbers and zucchini. It also has tiny open spaces where food and water can collect and which are difficult to clean and impossible to dry. The description implies the flat lid will work with the small bowl, but it works only with the large bowl.

The lids fit securely, but are a struggle to place correctly. The storage container is open on the bottom, so that if the slicing disk is in the wrong position, you could cut yourself as you remove it from the cupboard.

All in all, it promised to be more work than using a sharp knife and a cutting board. I returned it. I have purchased a more expensive but better designed brand.

Dicer is the medium size. I would have liked the larger size but this came with the food processor and works well. I have used it for potatoes twice and just cooked them less than my usual diced potatoes.

I have used it for sweet potatoes a couple of times too and for onions and winter squash. It went very fast and evenly. I am getting used to the smaller size diced potatoes in the soups and potato salads.

When I want to make pico de Gallo I still do it by hand because it really does need a different size dice (smaller) and the few times I make it doesn’t justify purchase of another size. I like the adjustable slicer, from very thin to thick.

The zucchini and carrots sliced evenly with very little left unsliced. I shredded some potatoes for hash browns and cabbage for slaw, both using the large shred. They did well. The small bowl cannot be used with the shredder or slicer but I guess the only difference would be washing a smaller bowl instead of the large one.

A couple of times I was surprised that I actually needed the large size to hold all the sliced or diced vegetable. Overall I am pleased with the food processor and accessories. I especially like having the containers for all the parts.

I keep the whole thing on the counter.

I purchased this as a replacement for a precursor to this model from the 1980’s (I think). Once I figured out how how to use it, I was pretty happy with it’s power, but I did find some features confusing and less than satisfactory.

The instructions in the manual didn’t help much. 1) The feeder tube was much wider than my older model. When slicing veggies, I always like to pack them upright so that the slices are uniform (celery, peppers, etc).

This wider feeder tube requires that I use more vegetables than I might need unless I cut them much shorter. With my older model the veggies could stick out of the feeder tube because the pusher was a separate piece not required for the operation of the processor.

I could just position it lightly over my veggies to hold them in place and as soon as the tops of the veggies reached the rim of the tube, I could direct the pusher into the feeder with the desired pressure.

The pusher on this newer model however, must be in place before the processor will operate and it doesn’t allow for anything to be taller than the feeder tube. Also… the pusher is held in place with little plastic tabs that click into the main assembly.

To release the pusher you have to press on the right tab. The tabs seem flimsy and at risk of breaking so I’m not sure it will hold up to the years of use I am accustomed to. 2) The small pusher that is inside the large pusher and sleeve assembly is very small – only 2 or 3 inches in diameter….

not something I have much use for except maybe to add liquids through the small feeder tube without having to remove the entire assembly. 3) There is another flat cover without a feeder tube which I assume is for mixing dough so the flour etc doesn’t spray out of any openings.

4) This entire pusher assembly is not the easiest to clean because is doesn’t come apart and there are nooks and crannies that can retain food. 5) There are two covers and 3 blades and no holder to store them.

You can purchase a blade and disc holder but I didn’t want to pay an extra $29. 99 for it.

I spent DAYS researching food processors online, finally settled on this one, mainly because of the warranty. There were MANY problems: (1) the feed tube is really weird; you can only put a small amount of food in it because you then have to clip a piece OVER TOP of it, with the pusher attached.

which means you have to keep taking that cover/pusher on/off, to add more food. and the clips are plastic, so I can see them being the first thing to break. (2) These clips are at the back, when you really need to see what you’re doing, with the constant clipping/unclipping.

ESPECIALLY if a bit of food gets caught anywhere in there. (3) When I was mixing/chopping a mixture of nuts and dried fruits, the main blade popped out! All the other parts CLICK into place, but the main blade does not, so.

major design fail there on Cuisinart’s part? (4) I had to take the main lid on/off many times because I gave up using that weird feed tube. but even SMALL crumbs would get stuck, making it hard to click back into place, which means I had to keep stopping to figure out which tiny food particle was stopping it this time.

I get that crumbs WILL get into places, with food processors, but given all the above, it honestly took me longer to prep my food than if I’d used my mini processor in 10 batches! So I returned it.

Bought as a smaller alternative to my full-sized Cuisinart food processor. It does a fine job with making pastes, purees, and such. It’s worthless for chopping, since the pieces need to be fairly small for it to work, and even then the results are uneven.

There are always bits that are too big, so either I complete chopping by hand or (very often) it goes from a rough chop to a paste in seconds. Motor produces an electrical burnt smell sometimes. Disassembly to flip the blade or clean the blade Is dangerous.

Nicked myself pretty good a few times.

Handy, small and space saving food processor that comes in handy when you don’t need a larger appliance and all the washing and cleaning involved. The DLC-2A Mini Prep is perfect when making small batches of pesto, grinding nuts and spices and whipping up quick salsa’s.

I use it to puree and to grind. The machine has a directional crusher and grinder for precise prep. It’s simple to clean and more importantly, can be stored out and away from your busy counter top areas.

Beach Camera was the best deal and has provided great customer service on all my items!.

I had a previous Cuisinart mini food processor for more than 15 years until I accidentally broke it (no fault of the appliance). I went in store to buy this one, came home and it started leaking liquid on the first try.

When comparing it to my older model, it was noticeably thinner plastic and lighter. I returned it hoping I’d find a better (even if more expensive) option, but the manager assured me this was the best they have, and it must’ve been a fluke, because they’re “rarely returned.

” So I exchanged it for another of the same model, and have had the exact same experience, even when hand pressing the lid closed, fluids still leak out. I just tried to grind/chop dried mushrooms, and the blades/motor couldn’t hand even the smallest amounts, so I had to switch to my full-size Ninja blender, which worked beautifully and didn’t leak at all.

This is a waste of money, and it’s so incredibly disappointing that the manufacturer has cut corners, and there don’t seem to be better options at any price for this size machine.

I usually like the products from this company but the last two things I bought were disappointing. The capacity is too small. I did not realize how limiting three cups would be so I would advise betting the four cup model.

The top is difficult to align and to take on and off. The chop setting is a misnomer – it pulverizes very quickly. You either get pieces that are too big or too small and mushy. The blade is very sharp, which I suppose is a good thing but consequently must be washed very carefully.

I usually go through a mountain of research before purchasing expensive kitchen equipment and it was time to get into the food processors again after my 15+ year old Cuisinart Custom was finally put to rest last month.

Cuisinart is still at the top of most recommended lists but Breville has been making appearance as top recommendation lately as well. It is typically the cheaper 12-cup model that gets the nod and I did look at that one initially but, given the amount of big batch cooking I do and the dicing option, it is the larger 16-cup model that caught my attention.

So far, I am very happy with my purchase decision. The design/engineering and attention to detail are exceptional! Easy locking mechanisms, minimized waste, reversible big/small shredding disc, clever dicing disc assembly, convenient accessory box, sleek design.

everything feels like an upgrade from the much touted Cuisinart. This machine can save you hours when cooking large batches of food! Cleaning is easy — wash parts with warm soapy water and put them on a dish rack to dry.

Contrary to what some reviews say, it takes very little time/effort to clean. Thanks to big chute, you can process larger items without having to cut them. Food is sliced, diced and cut uniformly and very little (if at all) gets wasted in the process.

Potato peeler does a decent job but is not perfect. Unless I have a huge number of them to peel, I prefer to do it manually. It is disappointing that the dicing kit only comes with one 12-mm disc. There’s an optional ($179.

95) Dicing Kit but, as of now, it is sold out everywhere. For the price, I feel those two discs should have been included. Another thing that has me worried a little is the number of customers who say they have to wait months for parts replacements.

If you visit Breville’s own website, you’ll see that most Food processor models and accessory kits are “Sold out”. They need to get their supply chain in order. While the motor comes with 25 year warranty, everything else is warranted for just 1 year, which is pathetic.

Look to Vitamix’s 7-year warranties for an example of a company that stands behind its products. Overall, I am happy and feel it is a good investment that will hopefully last me at least as long as my old Cuisinart.

Some things could definitely be improved but it is a solid 4 stars.

I chose this Cuisinart food processor because it was picked as the best by America’s Test Kitchen. It seemed awfully expensive, but when the Hamilton Beach model I’d had for many years died when I tried to make pizza dough, I found a good deal and bought this winner.

I didn’t use my old one much because it was so difficult to clean, but this Cuisinart has nice, straight sides without a lot of nooks and crannies, so it cleans and dries quickly and easily. It is also very quiet and has the strength to handle doughs.

I took the advice of another reviewer and made a spot on my countertop for it so it would be more convenient to use, especially since it is rather heavy. It actually has a relatively small footprint and looks very nice with it’s stainless and black colors which coordinate very well in my kitchen.

It earns it’s piece of valuable countertop real estate! I find I use it much more frequently and it has made quick work of everything I have used it for, including cleanup.

Qvc is great. But I have never in my life had deal with such difficulties in getting a product to work. I had everything together, my scone mix in the bowl. The bowl locked as well as the lid. Plugged the product into the electric outlet ….

and nothing. the product did not work. I called Cuisinart. Before it could be used, it had to be reset. I had to have an ink pen to depress the first reset button, it worked as long as the bowl was not on the base.

Customer service told me to take RTR lid and depress a second reset button on the bowl while holding the on button on and depressing the second reset button. Unfortunately my husband was trying to help and while depressing the second reset button and holding the on button it worked throwing flour everywhere.

Cleaned up and put the top on and made sure it was locked. Pressed the on button and nothing. There is a third reset button on the lid. Which was never found. Customer service was terrible. I could not understand what was being said, I was told to call back and talk with some that I could understand.

I asked to be transferred. That could not be done. The lady took my name and number and someone would be right with me. Of course that didn’t happen. My scone mis is in the refrigerator with the butter in the bowl and I’ll try again today.

Buy 3 reset buttons requiring an ink pen to depress each reset button while holding the on button. Oh, there are no instructions in the book to tell you anything about this reset button. $250 and 3 reset buttons, provide your own pen and you’ll need a second person to help.

And no instructions in the book for how to reset. And brand new and you have to go through a reset 3 times and rude and unresponsive customer service. I’ll be calling back today, just not talking with customer service, but customer complaint.

Very frustrating!.

I’ve been discovering more and more about different dishes that require spices that need mincing and mixing. Several articles and youtube reviews later, I finally bought the Cuisinart Custom 14-cup food processor.

When it arrived, I knew I was going to like the black finish. The packaging was nicely done as well, and it arrived on time. I used this first to test out how powerful it is and I’m blown away. The base is really steady and secure.

The machine that spins the blades are very powerful so you have to be very careful when feeding food into the container. I was able to make quacamole, prep for an omelette, and made almond butter! The items it came with are minimal enough that you can store them all in the same container which is what I like.

I’m very happy overall! Not bad for my first ever food processor.

This is my first food processor and it does the job, but a larger one with more power might be better depending on what you use it for. I’ve used this for taco marinade, grinded dried cloves, and tried making frozen grape sorbet in this mini processor.

The processor stopped on me and the outlet sparked for the frozen grape sorbet after about 1 minute of processing. Despite such a long process (with few second stops in between for scraping the sides), I would still get chunks and big pieces stuck underneath the blade.

Or, the food chunk would get stuck on top of the blade so when processing, it’s just hitting air. All in all, save up and invest in a better and bigger food processor.

I don’t have a lot of countertop space so this is ideal. I purchased this to replace a larger unit that burned out just a few months after having it. Was too large for countertop in hindsight. This small unit is perfect for making my vegan butter, mayo, and dressings etc.

It has 2 tiny holes on the top, allowing me to add oils slowly. One of the holes is for air, so don’t put oil in both holes. The last processor had the long chute to add oils into and even though I thought I was adding them slowly, I probably was not.

The results for what I use this for are much better. I like the weight of the base, does not move around. I like the size for chopping an onions, nuts etc. Much easier to clean because of its size. and so I tend to use it a lot more.

You can also turn the blade around to the blunt side if need be. Overall for what I need it for it is perfect. Great quality and I would buy it again.

I gave this Food Processor 5 stars because there weren’t 6! It is amazing. It is so easy to use–and we have had occasion to use just about all of the different shredders and blades. We have had it a week and we have made carrot cake, chocolate chip cookies, salsa, and homemade bread.

It is a pleasure to use. The blades click in nicely and do not fall out when you empty the bowl. The dough blade does an amazing job mixing the ingredients and then kneading the bread. After using it, the entire bowl and blade are so easy to clean.

I make it a point to clean it after using, to make it easier. But one night I forgot to wash out chocolate chip cookie dough. I filled the bowl with a little water and soap, pulsed it 4-5 times and the dried cookie dough was gone.

We have put it on our countertop because we don’t have cabinet space for it, and it makes our kitchen look like a high end gourmet kitchen. Final decision: this is an amazing food processor that will make a great addition to your kitchen.

We have had numerous “processor” types of kitchen equipment, including a few Ninjas! Now we have another Ninja that we are very happy with so far! It is replacing a 30+ year old Moulinex processor that still works well, but just takes up more room than we have for the smaller prep projects we use it for.

It has been difficult to find a new machine that performs as well on all of the functions! A Kitchen Aid 9 cup processor is going back to Costco because it could not cut it on some heavier blending/kneading functions that the old Moulinex grinds out while the Ninja pulls it off even better! Part of this may be the design of the bowl, being slightly tapered (wider at top than bottom) and having very functional molded & contoured “fins” to help direct the items being chopped/blended/kneaded into the spinning blades so the material doesn’t get stuck at top or bottom.

It is very effectively and efficiently functional and powerful enough, without excessively loud noise, to perform all we’ve put it though without overheating! Slicing and chopping and french fries are a breeze, with minimal waste left over at top of spinning cutting disc.

For the money on this unit, we couldn’t ask for more! And regarding service, if needed and continuous function without issue, the other 2 Ninja units we have are still performing without any breakdowns or problems.

The oldest is a replacement top motor blender unit sent to us free of charge when the original’s main bowl cracked and was not replaceable. All they required was that we return the original unit after receiving the new one! That is customer service!.

I was looking for something to help me spend less time with all the chopping and slicing of vegetables in food prep. I prepare several meals daily for my husband that works 10 to 12 hour shifts. I also have an old Lab that we dearly love and started making homemade food for her several months ago when she became quite ill and would not eat.

Standing so long in the kitchen was creating problems for my back and knees so it was time to try to streamline more. The reviews for food processors under $100 were not the greatest even among the kitchen favorite brands.

Ninja offered the highest watts of power at 850 with the most features for my needs. Chopping and slicing with some variety. The instructions were very easy as was the assembly of the processor. I made sure to take extra care with the extremely sharp blades as noted when washing for the first time.

The unit is lightweight but stays fixed with the suction feet to the counter. I threw some celery in for tuna and it was chopped in a matter of seconds. My husband likes vegetable fine so I pressed the preset chop button for a 2nd time to accommodate.

Easy Peasy. Green Onion was also chopped quickly and efficiently. Within a few minutes great Tuna Salad. Because it is a new toy I was anxious to try the slicing attachment. The Ninja was a wiz with cucumbers, tomatoes and celery.

I tried shredding a bell pepper which didn’t come out to good. but I think that feature probably needs harder vegetables like carrots, potatoes and cabbage. I will try those things for a coleslaw soon.

I might mention I am new to this food processing world so will have some trial and errors. Clean up is a breeze! Instructions indicate items are top shelf dishwasher safe. I just washed by hand by putting some dish soap in the bowl with blades and lid.

Be sure to use a sponge or handled washing utensil because the blade is sharp and you don’t want to cut yourself. The instructions also indicate adding a bit of dish soap to the processor before taking apart and turning on to clean.

Super happy with this purchase since it ticks many needs and is not too big or heavy. I might add this also came with a dough blade and capable of doing various doughs for pizza, pretzels, rolls, etc.

Another feature unheard of in this price range but the 850 watt motor can handle it. Next will be the test of time. I hope to be able to provide a follow up review in a few months!.

I am very pleased with the food processor so far as it has a lot of strength and puréed my corn beautifully. This is the only thing I have used it for but I plan to use it for dough and I’m gonna try making cookies with it and for just about everything possible.

I wish they would sell an extra processing vessel so that you don’t have to wash in between as if you are trying to use it for raw meat and you also have to use vegetables or you want to make cookie know you’re gonna have to wash it three times and it would be very convenient to have at least one extra food processing I saw you know the 9 cup holder – as a matter of fact I had to make my corn in three batches that’s all because it’s supposed to hold 9 cups but it only holds 32 ounces of corn at a time so I had to repeat the process three times and if I had an extra vessel I could have everything ready and cut some time out.

Also the blade does come out very easily so be careful when you were pouring things out as when I was pouring the sharp blade fell right into my pan. However this works so well and puréed so beautifully that I love it and I do not mind repeating the process three times as a purées so quickly the only thing is you have to make sure that you don’t make a mess pouring or you’ll have to clean it each time in between.

It really does have a lot of strength and love all of the blades. I would highly recommend it due to the great job that I did in a short amount of time.

Pros: Looks great, excellent bowl size and features, with a handy storage box for attachments. Feels good quality when in use and effective at chopping items and mixing pastry dough. Easy buttons with auto setting and pulse to keep it simple.

Comes with a smaller bowl that stores inside the main bowl. Not tried other attachments yet but overall this is really good value for money and the instruction booklet is easy to use, with tips and recipes.

Superb long guarantee on the motor which also feels durable and can cope with ingredients without flinching. After using a feeble food processor for 20 years, this is a real treat. Cons: Appears to be designed for a left-handed user – very stiff to click into place and awkward as it slides in from the left, so not a natural action.

Buttons appear a little flimsy and there is some movement to the heavy base unit when the mixer is in motion. Quite noisy but that isn’t an issue. Tip: Black finish looks smart but does show dust and crumbs however that was my choice so not a complaint.
