Best thing I have found to keep arthropods out that is also still safe for humans and our dogs. Since it is just naturally ground up seashells it is non toxic making it the perfect alternative to toxic chemicals.

In my opinion it works better than the toxic chemicals ever did. The pest company kept saying “we just need to keep spraying extra to keep silverfish out of the basement” (since we have a drop tile ceiling in one room) however since we dusted the drop tile ceiling and any crevice we haven’t seen any.

A bonus is we also are not seeing any spiders since it works on all arthropods by slicing up their exoskeletons and eliminating them naturally. Due to my husband’s multiple health issues we have been eliminating any toxins in our environment.

I highly recommend this product! It goes a long way especially when you use the yellow puffer.

This stuff really works surprisingly well!! We got rid of a terrible flea infestation in the yard several years ago with this stuff very effectively! Now in an apartment, I got rid of very stubborn sugar ants living in an electrical plug.

My mom had them in her apartment in the same way and management kept spraying toxic crap over and over and over and she still had sugar ants for YEARS. I wish I would have known about this then. Perhaps most importantly, as a precaution I apply it strategically in my apartment to protect from bed bugs from neighbors.

Mites Flea tics spiders Dog Cat any animal this works. You need the duster before and after you sweep. You can not apply this by hand it is like talkum power. Now on fur coats just dip you comb in the dust and brush deep into the fur but carpets beding you need a duster.

You may not be familiar with Diatomaceous Earth but it has probably been part of your household for years. Since the 1960’s it has been commonly used in toothpaste, clarifying beer and wine, and as an anti-caking aid, and it has many more applications.

Diatomaceous earth is the naturally occurring soft siliceous remains of aquatic diatomes(algae), and it is easily crumbled. There is a food grade for human and animal consumption and another grade with different uses entirely.

I received the food grade diatomaceous earth and it is a very fine powder. DE is 84-90% silica with over 20 trace minerals needed by skin, teeth and hair. Studies show that it may increase hair growth and thickness when taken internally.

It is said to be good for hair, nails, joints and ligaments. It is used in pet nutrition products, water filters, as a clarifying agent in food, supplements and medicines, and as a detoxifying agent, reducing odor and helping to curb gas.

Other uses I have found are controlling Cholesterol, and some people add it to their beauty products such as deodorants, facial cleansers and face masks. It is said to make a nice natural exfoliant. It is naturally drying and may reduce moisture in socks, fighting foot fungus.

DE is added to chicken food for better and more eggs with larger yolks, providing more nutrition. If you are going to try DE orally, be sure to get the food grade. Silica particles work similarly to anti-oxidants, neutralizing the charge of free radicals and removing free radicals through waste products.

The Safer brand is what I received and it, and many other Safer products are available at Walmart.

I absolutely without a doubt love this product. It’s great for so many different things. Really couldn’t live without this stuff. You can even drink this it’s safe for use around animals. Just make sure you get the one that says food grade on it.

It’s also great for control of some pests. I even heard you can use this to wash your hair with to promote faster hair growth. I also put this in my bfs shoes bc his feet get stinky but not since I have been putting this in them lol it says online it would help with foot order and get excess moisture.

I would so recommend this product to everyone. Very useful stuff.

Not just for cats or dogs but used in backyard chicken bathing. For back yard chickens I suggest to buy a cat litter tray and fill it with the D. -Earth, your chickens will use it to bath in to prevent and rid lice and mites and should be part of their coop living daily to use.

In south florida with so many bugs, it is great for around yards, vegi gardens, your cats, dogs, birds, chickens, and farm animals alike, kills chicken mites also. It is food grade safe. I highly recommend using it.

My experience with cats: had a cat in my childhood. Now, as an adult, I’ve had 2 cats in a 1 bedroom apt for 9 years. I recently bought DE with the intention of it being an additive to my kitty litter strategy to further suppress any odors that might accumulate throughout the course of the day until it’s time for the daily cleaning.

The reality is this: The paper bag the DE is packaged in is of poor quality. Chewy staff are doing the best they can for their customers and wrap this product up in a plastic bag to keep it from contaminating other items in your package, but once it’s out of the plastic, the DE starts sifting it’s way onto any surface and disperses into the air your breath.

Handle with extreme care! I wear a dust mask when handling it. I added a small amount to my litter box and mixed it in thoroughly, albeit gently, with a fresh batch of litter. Any amount of motion or physical agitation this DE experiences immediately kicks up a cloud of fine chalky dust.

For asthmatics like myself, this makes it very difficult to breathe. This can’t be good for anyone’s health. Once in the litter box, yes it does its job well. The odors are effectively eliminated and moisture is absorbed.

It’s dry as a bone in the litter box. But now, the apt smells of DE because it’s floating in the air I breathe. It’s probably also tracking all throughout my apt, too, due to it’s very fine and lightweight nature, spreading even more germs.

I can feel it making its way into my cat’s fur when I pet them. Also, I don’t know why, but one of my cats really enjoys going to the litter box now that the DE is in there. She’s healthy! It’s like she’s going repeatedly due to a UTI or anything.

But that just amplifies the problem for me. 2 Stars, because it kills odors and absorbs moisture. Minus 3 stars because it’s packaged poorly, it makes it hard to breathe in my own home, and it contaminates just about every surface.

I would never recommend this product to anyone for any purpose.

I’ve been giving this to my dogs for about 2 weeks. I have 2 schnauzers who have very oily skin. Since I have been using this product their coats are now shiny and don’t smell near as fast as they used too.

Before after about 3 days they needed a bath, now it’s about a week and a half. One of my dogs also had a sore on her leg that has now healed. And neither lick excessively like they used too. Overall very impressed with this product.

If your pets occasionally eat grass use this product instead of any OTC treatments that leave harmful chemical residue. Because this is food grade there is no harm to our pets after it is applied. Luckily I had a 7 day window of no rain and after 4 days could see the decline of bugs when walking/mowing the yard.

My dogs stopped itching after coming in from the yard. Downside is must be applied after a rain, but each time applied reduces the amount of bugs from the previous treatment. Can be used in your home as well.

Great product to keep pets/humans safe.

Upon further research, this product IS safe around pets and food areas. I cannot speak to how pure the poweder is, as it seems quite a different price by far, abd other products seem to have a different feel to the touch.

This feels like talcum powder with less of a gritty tac than others. I have sprinkled it on the stove top and ants imediately stopped arriving to that area. I cannot speak to its long-term efffectiveness, but it is very affordable.

The bag is the size of a bag of dog food. I am happy with its value.

I swear by this product it does get rid of insects. Some types of ants might not be killed but it will deter them away from where you don’t want them, if you reapply it after awhile again. Make sure you get a fresh bag every year.

Then there is the fact it could kill other bugs you don’t want to kill outside so be sure not to get those involved. I think this is the most natural product to get rid of unwanted critters, even inside of the house.

I love using it and will continue to use it all around every time.

Nothing’s better than DE to solve all of your pest problems around your garden. Just don’t breathe it in! I use a large shaker bottle like the one used by pizza places for cheese. Dip the bottle into the bag so you don’t have to pour it, but wear a mask and safety goggles just to be safe.

Sprinkle a fine layer around your plants like a light snow and anything that crawls or slides across it, some even try to eat it, will be history.

I have a large circular area with two pine trees in the center of my driveway. One in which squirrels, birds, rabbits, etc. , like to go through. I began noticing quite a few ants and ant holes in May.

I decided to create a xeriscape garden in that area and treated with this DE as I needed something safe for wildlife. I spread half the bag liberally for about a 15×15 space, and created a border. I wore boots.

The amazing thing about DE is that the ants don’t act in desperation and start going for the feet/legs like I expected. It’s not killing them instantly. Could be the species of ant. Fire ants may behave differently.

But, about 24 hours later, a big reduction in ants. Due to luck, it didn’t wash or blow away, so I waited and repeated 5 days later. Now I only see very few worker ants, who are apparently sent out to take one-for-the-team.

I have noticed them starting to spread to other areas of the yard, which was expected. I will need to buy another bag, but it seems well worth it.

Works! Just walking to our car was impossible…we would get bitten by something. Despite socks, pants, OFF, picaridin lotion…our legs look terrible from bites and scratching. My sweet husband bought and spread DE down our gravel driveway and the yard.

After a few days, we noticed way less bites on legs. Yay! 😊 ————- For Anyone Asking- DE could kill bees, butterflies, caterpillars, fireflies, spiders, grasshoppers, worms and other crawly good things if they come into contact with it.

So, if you’re concerned about that, then I would not use this nor any pest control, specifically around flowers and plants that “good things” love to visit.

This is a fantastic product! Adding this to my chicken feed as a natural way to help with worming and using it in the nesting boxes to cut down on mites. Also using it in the garden to control pests, both on the plants themselves and in the soil.

There are so many uses for DE on the farm or hobby farm. The twenty-five-pound bag was easy enough for us to move and store in a small barrel. Tractor Supply had the best price for a bulk purchase, and their helpful service just “sealed the deal”.

This is my second bag of Harris Diatomaceous Earth. I bought my first bag in May 2019 to battle squash bugs (worked great for that, when pesticides DID NOT); then I started using it for ants. So, the 10.

5# bag got me through 3 garden seasons, and I needed more. I wanted the same brand but could not find it in stores (clerks said that it sells out as fast at they get it). So glad to find it at Chewy!.

This product is the higher quality white diatomaceous earth. It has great texture. It also comes with a great little dispensing tool that helped me get it into the cracks and crannies of my chicken coop.

Definitely would buy again.

is absolutely the best most natural, non toxic product that you can use to successfully eradicate and deworm all of your animals by adding the suggested amount per body weight to your pets food! It also kills all worms and parasites in the human body and is extremely safe for human consumption as long as it is indeed FOOD GRADE diatomaceous earth, and I personally recommend only using food grade diatomaceous earth that’s Perma Guard Branded.

They didn’t have it in the options to review so I decided to review this brand although I only recommend Perma Guard brand food grade Diaromaceous earth. Also is a natural insecticide and will kill fleas and all other types of insects except for earth worms (since earth worms don’t have an exoskeleton hard putter shell).

I have been feeling better since I started taking it. I was so exhausted after having covid I just wanted to sleep. It got rid of that feeling and gave me the energy to continue with daily tasks!

I learned about Diatomaceous Earth a while ago and was looking for a food grade high quality product, which I found at Lucky Vitamin. I choose this product of which I take 1 tsp a day internally in my drinking water — for a 21 day special cleanse and I also add it to my pet’s water.

The powder is very even and dissolves easy, there is no smell or other taste. Order and shipment went smooth, excellent!.

So when we moved into new house there was a feral cat situation in the crawl space and had an out break of fleas. I read about this & thought I’d try this to see if it would help in case had same problem the following Spring/Summer so I made the HUGE mistake & put this all over the basement floor & in crawl space.

OMG it’s like this stuff bonded w/ the paint on the cement floor. I swept, vacuumed, used cleaners & scrubbed & scrubbed & STILL there is a white film/ speckles all over the floor. Floor has to be repainted.

I’m still furious that this ruined floors. Oh & this stuff did nada what so ever to help w/ fleas & had another outbreak.

I use this in all of my pets food. I also, sometimes have for a few months at a time taken it myself for the many benefits to the human body as well. I have 3 feral cats, and 2 at home cats. They are all healthy, happy, and thriving.

There are a lot of insects this year for anyone with pets. This product is good to put a little bit in the garbage can as it keeps them manageable. The key here is it is safe. The tiny shells do rupture the insect’s breathing system.

One company even used it in their liter product. The extreme moisture in the spring and fall is a problem outside. A good hard winter is needed to kill off a lot of the bugs outside. I will buying more over the winter.

The powder can get everywhere so be careful as to where you put it.

This is especially good because, FOR SURE, it is edible. We rescue abused senior dogs. They come with various problems. One thing I do for their coats is to apply some D E. It is a very non toxic way to treat some of their skin problems.

Initially I put it in their beds and around the floor. I don’t have to worry if they lick their paws. I also use it outside all around the box garden. That’s near where the wild birds get fed. Again, I don’t have to worry if the birds are exposed to it, or even eat it.

So , yes, I do take a spoonful every now and then in a glass of juice. This is also a nice convenient size container.

I haven’t even opened the bag but from what I’ve read online etc 1/2 teaspoon a day is what some recommend. They have said they energy levels increase as well as their hair growing, skin glowing because it supposedly pulls metals and toxins from our body.

Either way, I could always use more energy but this won’t allow me add a new review later or edit it so I’m sorry I have it 3 stars but they really could have put a label for instructions or warnings.

My succulents planted in seven vases were severely infected with small knats in the roots of just one small potted hen and chicken. I went through 21 sticky tapes which did an excellent job of trapping hundreds of knats.

However they weren’t enough to stop the egg laying hatching cycle. I have puffed the soil twice with DE and after a week I am hopeful knats will be history. Love the resealable package.

I have bought tons of DE powder for livestock. This bag is much higher quality. It’s heavy and doesnt become airborne easy like the 50lb bags do. This bag is powdery and heavy, no smell even. Very pleasantly elated over this brand and price including the poofer included, as DE powder can be way overpriced.

Came extremely fast. Great condition and packaging. Recommend highly. I bought it for an ant and roch problem (bad, bad) and this is starting on week 2 and the ants are almost gone and the roaches are down by half.

Bought everything for my issue and tried gels, Sticky traps and baits. From ones I could buy at Walmart to professional poison I had to wear a mask, gloves, goggles and old throw away chothes to put out tiny dots on ceiling and high up on the walls so my animals, kids and grandkids couldn’t accidentally touch it.

Nothing worked, I had bionic bugs form he!! And I mean he!!. I still got sick as did both my cat and dog. But this pure white earth has been a gift from God!!! Buy it and try it. (Takes about a month for it to get all the bugs, so I have researched and it’s working so far.

Put in thin lines anywhere you see lots of bugs. Replace it every week or sooner if it gets wet. DON’T breathe in the dust, it hurts because it’s sharp, wear a mask and ventilation is key. I put in a quart Ziploc bag, outside on porch, and cut a tiny piece of the bottom corner.

I mean tiny, or the lines are to thick, and use up the bag faster. Just firmly squeeze and make thin lines where needed. Keep kids and pets out of area until dust settles then it’s safe and you can get straight back to living without fear or having to scrub and clean every thing in the house because you know the poison has been tracked on everything by the bugs.

Will update this in a month to let you know if it keeps working or not. O it causes any bug with an exoskeleton to dry up after it cuts their belly’s open and the earth slowly dry’s it out and j makes it hard to eat or drink and it goes to the nest where the other bugs eat it.

This is an awesome product. from killing fleas to all kind of critters. I use it in my backyard and in my garden. I like that its safe to use in my home and on my 2 dogs and 1 kitty cat. Very good and safe product an I like the price.

First time user of this. Product comes in very heavy duty, multi layer paper bag, has double ended measuring scoop for large and smaller servings. taste is mild and easy to swallow, mixes easy and has thin not thick consistency.

Makes my nails grow super fast and I swear they are thicker and stronger. my hair also has a different feel to it, like it’s stronger, or better quality. also used it to brush my teeth which works well, and has an interesting feel, and when mixed with water can be used a facial scrub that seems easier on the skin than soap, no smell or suds or harshness to skin.

I might try mixing it with shampoo next, or scrub my armpits with it to see if it acts as a natural deodorant. also, it’s kind of cool knowing that this stuff is tens of millions of years old!.

I have 2 house rabbits. One of them developed a foul smell in her ears. She was also scratching a lot. I did a lot of research and came to the conclusion she had mites. In my research I found DE was a good natural repellent for mites.

Tractor Supply had the best price for the product. Now when I clean my rabbit houses I sprinkle a couple of tablespoons in their bedding. This along with some veterinary ear drops cleaned up my little girl’s issues.

Her ears no longer bother her. She has stopped her excessive scratching and her fur is back to its beautiful shine. Great results. Product is a little messy but it works.

Bought Red Lake food DE at TSC because i read that it’s a safe (be sure to take respiratory safety measures i. e, don’t dust storm your pet or house) non-toxic method of eliminating fleas and/or internal parasites.

I never had a flea problem, my cat has been on the same treatment which apparently was 0% effective this summer. That being said, found ourselves suddenly infested. I vacuumed the carpet (to stir or aggravate fleas deep in the carpet and to suck up as many as possible) then sprinkled a layer about 1/8 of an inch all over the living room floor including hardwoods.

I opened the windows and sprinkled gently and didn’t have any dust cloud issues. Next i offered my cat a treat and while he was eating his treat i secretly sprinkled some from his head down his back (careful not to create dust plume) and quickly “petted/massaged” it into his fur.

He had zero reaction, as if he didn’t even notice. For past 2 weeks he has been scratching & chewing constantly. i do mean constantly. I didn’t know there was a natural treatment (DE) until looking online.

I can tell you this, IT’S BEEN 6HRS SINCE I DUSTED HIS FUR AND HE HAS NOT SCRATCHED ONE TIME SINCE!! I’m not kidding. wow. I’m hopeful for the first time after a month of running myself ragged cleaning non-stop and seeing no improvement.

Our 13. 5 year old cat had lost half her weight and was eating/requesting food and water constantly diarrhea all over house and losing hair. Vet said she had a very high white blood cell count after tests and that it could be cancer but that would cost a lot more money.

Two weeks later she couldn’t meow or climb yet was very hungry. She was emaciated. Brought her back to Vet and they recommended euthanasia. I asked wife to give me two weeks with her. I pumped her with Red Lake DE add to all meals and Lugols’ Iodine as well.

Within 3 days she showed improvement. I also changed her diet to grain free. By day 5 she had no more bowel issues. 3 months later she has gained all her weight back @ 10lbs and acts like she is 5 again in her prime.

It is unbelievable and I’m convinced the DE with clay helped immensely. I thought what was good for me might have a shot of saving the cat and it sure did. I have benefitted from Red Lake consumption myself.

LOVE IT! It has been a great product to use for my 3 English Mastiffs and my cats. Those yeasty ear infections the dogs can get have completely cleared up without the use of antibiotics or any kind of cleaning.

In fact they are so clean!! No bugs or worms here! I use it everyday for the past 3 months and will continue with the pups that are due soon until they leave. DE makes it inhospitable for any of the bugs(fleas, etc) and worms to live in their body.

Dogs always have worms but they aren’t always doing damage or havoc. This makes it so they can poop out the worms and the worms can’t live without a host.

In the phoenix area, I’ve had problems with scorpions, ants, cockroaches, and silverfish. This is supposed to kill all of them and is non-toxic and affordable. I don’t like poison because I have cats and I also don’t want to kill beneficial spiders or lizards.

I do however have a can of poison for the black widows and any bees that want to build a hive on property. This product is spread pretty thick around my front door where most scorps will try to get in.

I also got a sprayer ( RL Flo-Master 1-Gallon Sprayer ) on this site for $4. 89 and it works well with this. I mixed the DE with water and sprayed it near the top of the block-wall around back yard. I had to take the nozzle off so it would not clog.

The water evaporates quickly and leaves a film of DE on the block.

I read alot of online reviews on this product. Almost everyone said it was effective. I tried it and seen positive results. Ever since I applied it, I haven’t seen any more bugs. It’s been working very well and I would honestly recommend it if you are having problems.

Its probably a cheaper solution than having an exterminator come in. With that being said, I wouldn’t say its a cure all though. Just keep an eye out. If your bug problem continues call a professional.

Warning! While a lot of DE is considered food grade — i. e. safe for vegetables — this specific product is not meant for use on edible plants. The product is misleading and they do not list the 15% of unspecified ingredients.

Don’t use this on veggies. Go get food grade DE and leave this on the shelf.

This is my first purchase of diatomaceous earth. My freshly-planted vegetable garden was being devoured by slugs and chewing insects. I applied the DE solution as directed on the label. It is too early for me to discern if this will work consistently or over time.

but my plants are recovering, and show no signs of further damage. I am glad I have this on hand for organic pest management around the house.

happy i did not have to buy a hue amount. just 12 $ with shipping! and away we go! I use it in my handmade baking soda free deordorant. so happy. I appy the deodorant before bed because it so fresh and powdery.
