I got a lab/husky puppy. First results I was noticing was large amounts of poop/diarrhea! I thought it would slow down but never did. He wasn’t gaining any weight then ended up seeing blood in stool.

When it’s been from last meal at night to morning feeding. His first poop before he eat would be looking more trying to go back to normal until he eats again!. His farts was wayy too strong/unpleasant & He wasn’t acting like a puppy anymore.

I switched to blue buffalo what I normal feed my pups/dogs when I have one. Automatically I seen a big change in his behavior and laziness/fatigue that was going on! Plus wanting to eat more of it! I was really excited about this product! Maybe it’s just not for this pup! Got a new comer (pitbull pup) coming soon.

I’m going to try and transition him to the bully max and see what’s the out come for him! Hopefully all goes well! No shade, just my experience with it! PS: None of the cons was happening until switched foods, but To be on the safe side.

Made an Doctors appointment too make sure it’s nothing more going on than the transitioning of food! I’ll do an further update about the visit when I make a review for my new pitbull!.

I would have given this 5 stars. My dog loves this bag of food. Chicken flavor, however we were sent lamb. I will continue to order only because my dog loves this and I’m sure it was an honest mistake I just wish everyone was more understanding with my frustration of having to go out buy food to cook for my dog along with having a one year old child.

I was very hurt that after ordering for more than a year that no one was understanding especially during these trying times of inflation. We count on this brand to keep me from worrying about if my dog is getting enough food with what I cooked as well as messing up his digestive track.

He has a very sensitive stomach so after not receiving the correct bag. Still. He’s having issues and is now on plain chicken white rice and pumpkin. Hopefully the next shipment is right. Truly we are hurt.

I was skeptical at first and literally thought about ordering Bully Max a million times. I had heard nothing but good things about it but all on the internet. No one I knew had first hand knowledge. So, I took a leap of faith and even had issues with UPS so it took almost a month to get my first order.

Needless to say I was even more doubtful. but when I actually got the products I could tell the difference by the second or third day. I was amazed and still am. My Bullys hold weight better, she’s more energetic, her coat seems thicker and most of all her muscles pop out and the muscle definition is nothing less than extraordinary.

All just from feeding her Bully Max! Next best thing is that she loves it!!! And I’ve noticed that she doesn’t have the bad gas like she used to. I’m pretty sure Bully Max found a customer for life! All I can say is this is an amazing product and I recommend it to anyone who has Bullys or even dogs.

Now if I could just find a way to get the cost of shipping down I would be very gracious!!!.

This product does what it claims to do. Our English Mastiff suddenly went off his food and began losing weight. In a search to improve his health I discovered Bully Max through an online search. We supplemented a natural diet with Bully Max Pro Series and hand fed our big guy.

His weight and overall condition improved with the additional calories. Sadly our devoted companion had a cancer and is no longer with us. However, we believe that the additional nutrition from Bully Max helped us improve the quality of our boy’s last months with us.

I purchased the smallest version of this a two months ago and mixed into the food slowly. My dog was not having it all. Only eating about half a bowl. But i thought she just had to get use to it. Bigger bag came the following month and my dog started not eating all together.

Not sure why. Wasted like 50 bucks or more. I’m pretty disappointed, but in all honesty im not sure i blame the company. My dog just doesn’t like the taste of this 2x more calories pro series dog food.

I have two dogs that I have been feeding bully max. My Cane corso mastiff Kratos 1yr 8 mo. My Great Dane Tahlia 3 months. They have a very happy demeanor and have the energy to play before a work out/training session.

They remain focused and willing while training. Their coats are beautiful and healthy. I love how good bully max is for my dogs health. Plus No Recalls. I mean what more so you need? GET YOUR DOG BULLY MAX.

Purina Sensitive Skin & Stomach for seniors is fantastic! I have 2 black labs, 1 senior (15 years) and 1 puppy (1 year, lab mix) and have switched them both to the sensitive formula for their respective ages.

My puppy was first, when he started regurgitating his food periodically then progressed to full blown vomiting and diarrhea but otherwise was healthy and a check by the vet yielded no obvious issue. After research pointed to a possible food intolerance, I read extensively and decided the Purina sensitive formula (for puppies) fit the bill.

It did indeed solve all of the GI issues my pup was having!! Fast forward 6 months and my senior dog was having serious issues with bowel movements being sparse, yellow and having to strain along with one episode of vomiting with partially digested food.

Again, otherwise happy and still had an appetite but it then turned to diarrhea. So, onto homemade chicken and rice he went with psyllium to see if that calmed his issues. It did, so I determined he was probably having a hard time processing his food.

Having had so much luck with my puppy and the sensitive stomach formula and the same exact set of symptoms, I ordered the senior version for my old man. Again, IT WORKED!!!! I could not have been happier when his GI issues resolved, his bowel movements are better than they have been in years and he’s a happy boy again!!! I will say I am still adding psyllium and organic pumpkin powder to his food, but not because the kibble is falling short, but because he needs a little more help staying regular and needs extra ease with going, because he has severe hip dysplasia.

Long story long, I am very thankful that I found Purina Pro plan for both my puppy and my senior. Footnote: I also sing high praises for Purina’s probiotic powder that I throw in the mix for both of them periodically or when they seem to have minor GI disturbances.

My 10 year old German Shepherd had a terrible skin condition. Her hair was falling out, she was almost bald in places, itching all the time, scratching all the time and covered with scabs and raw skin.

We took her to our vet, who recommended she go to a dermatologist vet. $1000 and many tests later, the specialist said that it her sebaceous glands were gone, and there was nothing we could do. Went to another vet, who recommended vitamin A and special shampoo.

Did I mention that she smelled bad on top of everything else? We tried everything for more than 6 months – Dietary changes, baths, topical treatments, nothing was helping. Finally, a friend mentioned that her vet had recommended Purina Pro Plan for sensitive skin & stomach.

Greta has been on it for almost a month now, and her fur is growing back in! Her coat feels soft and healthy, the scabs are disappearing, and I not longer have a sad looking smelly dog. Her energy has picked back up, and she’s starting to bring me her ball to play again.

I have to chalk up this change to her diet. I am thrilled with the product, and the relief it has given to my good old dog. It’s made a believer out of me.

My rescued senior Boxer/APBT has a multitude of health issues, allergies (food & environmental), sensitive stomach, missing teeth and so on. We have tried a number of foods with no success. That is until our Vet recommended we try this.

I was excited that it was a Senior formula AND grain inclusive but most importantly it was poultry FREE! Those combinations are hard to find except in the “boutique brands” that I don’t necessarily trust, nor can afford.

I love that he is eager to eat and thoroughly enjoys his meals now. The kibble is easy for him to chew and the smell is not overwhelming as other fish based foods are. At this time, he has had no negative reactions to this product and we are thrilled.

His shedding seems to have gotten better, his coat sheen is back, he isn’t feeling greasy anymore and he doesn’t smell like fish. My biggest concern is that this specific formula being discontinued. I hope it is not; even though there is an Adult formula, I prefer the analysis on the Senior formula.

Fingers crossed this product is always available. I have reached out to Purina Pro Plan regarding my concerns and am awaiting a reply.

We may the transition to PPP brand food recently after hearing some online reviews about the quality of the food. One of our Boston Terrier mixes is very athletic and active and we wanted to make sure we were fuelling her correctly.

Little did we know that the reviews we were reading were from before the formula change in 2021. Over the following months, our dogs got progressively itchier, rubbed their snouts raw, developed ear infections, had their paw pads slough off, broke toenails requiring surgery, and saw severe hair thinning.

We ran all sorts of tests, put them on antibiotics and antifungals and anti-inflammatories, but nothing came back as a solid cause. It was only after the vet suggested it might be allergies (he thought seasonal – but neither had seasonal allergies last year) that we clued in that the new food was the likely culprit.

One internet search later and we have read countless other stories on sites like Reddit indicating the same issues as we have had. We will have to throw out the rest of our large bag, can’t risk exposing a rescue to this product.

I am incredibly disappointed in what was supposed to be a stellar pet food product. While owners may be tempted to try a sample size to see if it sits right with their pets, I would caution those owners and say we didn’t see the worst of effects of the food change until the 3-4 week mark.

My first order with Chewy. com arrived in excellent condition and on time. However, I discovered that the Purina Proplan shredded chicken and rice +7 for large breeds in the 34 lb. size bag was not what I expected.

The kibble was/is much smaller than what my dog is accustomed to. Attempting to transition, I served it to him on more than five consecutive occasions. And, with each of those meals, he consumed only half of his normal amount.

I was throwing away expensive dog food. Therefore, I contacted Chewy. com customer service. The representative and I researched alternative products. It turns out that, in all likelihood, I should have ordered item #67519, instead of the product that is the subject of this review.

In my opinion, what created confusion in selecting products is that Purina changed the dog images on the subject bags. The respective contents share the same word-for-word description, except one product (the one my dog doesn’t like) indicates a +7.

The Purina product consisting of small kibble now comes in a bag featuring a Golden Retriever, the same image that appeared on the bag containing the larger kibble for years. In any event, Chewy. com customer service was extremely courteous, helpful, and exemplary.

The representative did not hesitate to issue me a refund. I highly recommend Chewy. com. Buy with confidence.

I belong to a FB group called Pet Vet Corner, which is essentially run by verified vets who volunteer their time to support animal owners with second opinions, advice, and insights. They do their best to help people who are facing barriers to care for their pet, usually due to local vet shortages, financial limitations, or their personal vet’s limitations.

They have some documents for the group answering FAQs, one of which addresses which foods are the safest for our pets. They review all the ingredients, balance of vitamins nutrients, and take note of any other issues (like frequent recalls or commonly reported health issues) before putting a food on the list, so you can rest assured that the recommended foods are the healthiest and most balanced options for your pet.

These vets don’t profit whatsoever from putting this information out, so there’s no concern about biases there. They don’t just list the brands either, they make sure to specify which ones are approved.

Purina Pro Plan was the most affordable and easily accessible of the list for us to get when we first got our dog 3 years ago. I haven’t had any reason to doubt the vets’ recommendation so far!.

I’ve tried all the bully max brands and the “Fresh catch” seems to be the worst one. For starters the nuggets look like circle tablets which are not appealing to dogs. Secondly, my pitbull hates this one because they stale quickly rather than staying firm.

The lamb feed and ProMax are the best dog food on their page. Best believe I’m working on getting a refund.

Not saying your product is bad, but this particular one doesn’t seem to agree with his stomach and leaves him still hungry despite the recommended servings I give him! Stool is very loose and runny! I did ween him off his originally food before giving him this one solely!.

I’ve tried all Bully max brand and this seems to be the worst one of them all! My pitbull hates it and doesn’t even bother to tolerate it. I would suggest the BullyMax Pro or the lamb feed

Excellent! was able to try a small bag elsewhere in exchange for an honest review. So glad i was able to do so for our 11mth old GSD dog LOVES it and now eats his 2cps of morning kibbles within the hour instead of nibbling on his kibbles till dinner time.

The size of the kibbles are great for large dogs, about the width of a dime and most are about the height of two dimes. There was no digestive issues at all with this food. I love that it is vacuumed seal or at least 2 of the 3 bags i bought was.

My only dislike is that the bags are not resealable like brand we normally use, that is usually something i look for when choosing a food for out dogs and cats but, since our dog loved it so much, i overlooked it this time.

Our mix lab unfortunately did not take to this food, it isn’t smelly enough to entice her ( she is a picky one when it comes to kibbles).

Purchased the 25/11 Dog Food for adult male Old Southern White American Bulldog. He seems to enjoy the food just fine. I alternate with Orijen Regional Red and Orijen Tundra. He has developed an allergy to chicken meal, so I cannot try your 30/20 product.

The only qualm I have is that the location where the food is made is not on the bag. It just says made in USA. I have never bought a dog food before that doesn’t put on the packaging where the mill the food was produced is located.

In my eyes, thats a Red Flag!.

in 4 months of eating 2/3 cup of this food daily. The going was so slow (verified at vet appts) that I further reduced the amount I fed her to about 1/2 cup per day, to no avail. I just talked to Customer Svc at Nutro & they said they’d INCREASED THE NUMBER OF KCALS TO 382/CUP currently, from the previous 288kcals/CUP.

The rep advised me to reduce my poor dog’s food to just 1/4 -1/3 of a cup PER DAY – STARVATION!! THIS new, 382/cup AMOUNT OF CALORIES IS COMPARABLE TO STANDARD, NON-WT MANAGEMENT FOODS, SO WHAT ARE WE BUYING THIS FOR?? I NO LONGER WILL DO SO, & FEEL CHEATED BY NUTRO, AS THERE IS NO NOTICE OTHER THAN THE TINY CALORIES COUNT ON SIDE OF BAG, NEAR THE BOTTOM.

I’m very disillusioned by Nutro & off to find a better meal for my pup! I have no problems with Chewy, love their delivery & most of their products – I assume they were also hoodwinked by Nutro/Mars – capitalism at its worst.

IšverstiShow in original languageI discovered this brand back in 2017. Was undecisive due to being a sales man promoting (we all know how they are lol). After the 1st month I noticed the difference the coat was shinier, he was super healthy and full of energy.

Had to give away this doggie for other purposes. I adopted in April 2020 a German Sheppard/ Lab Mix. started giving him this brand and he grow healthy. even the vet was surprised how healthy he was even thought im not giving him a full strict diet Moving forward for beginning of this year, had to replace it with another brand.

I started noticing how he was throwing up a little bit more, his poop was a mess. so i thought it was the change of food cause for what i read it is normal. Decided to change back to nutro, let me tell you that i made the best decision as dog owner could ever done.

His coat it gotten better. his poop is solid and i can tell he likes it more. I WOULD NEVER CHANGE TO ANOTHER BRAND AGAIN.

After several years, the pups still love this food; but alas, for over a year the stores in Tulsa, OK and Springfield, MO stores continue to refuse stocking Nutro Ultra products; so one can never take advantage of the savings of doing online order with local pickup.

Their primary competitor does stock locally in both cities, and has been offering better discounts. The explanation from corporate is that it’s the local manager who decides store inventory. Apparently, corporate has no influence on local stores, and neither does Nutro reps; or perhaps its not a brand Petco cares that much about continuing to sell.

BTW – Royal Canine is a good alternative if Nutro is not available. Expensive, but dogs have done well on it, also.

Preface- I have a 6-month-old large breed puppy. (we’re waiting for the Embark DNA results, but he is believed to be a mastiff shepherd mix). I had him on Purina One large breed puppy kibble, and I mixed it with Purina One healthy puppy lamb and long grain rice canned.

He had the absolute worst smelling #2 in the history of ever in the world from a living creature. If a window was open and he went to see a man about a dog. it would waft into the house. then suddenly, I’m frantically running from room to room trying to find the results of an obvious code brown (there must be one because it is SO STRONG).

nope. It’s OUTSIDE! I’m being totally honest when I tell you that I have almost tossed my cookies several times when having to clean it up while we were still having accidents. I also think Karl was offended by it as well.

He would complete #2, and then RUN to the deck, then sit and patiently wait to be let in lol true story. I decided it was the food. Did some research and discovered Diamond Naturals Large Breed Puppy.

I decided on it for several reasons. I still mix with the Purina One Pup lamb. 3 weeks later, he is full-on it alone (kibble wise) and there is hardly any smell at all from current #2’s! It also seems he has less waste to #2 with.

Another bonus, because the food bricks this 6-month-old, 60lb, sweet handsome fur fur leaves. well, let’s just say “WHAT THE? This Dog needs a freaking toilet!” If you are experiencing this, try this food! Oh and Karl loves it too, and isn’t running from his own #2’s any longer! Totally worth the cost.

My girl is going on 8 and has been eating Taste of the Wild for a long time. But she seems to get bored eating the same flavors. She just finished a bag of Southwest Canyon with Wild Boar (I believe her fav) and now is alternating between Pacific Stream with Smoked Salmon and Sierra Mountain with Roasted Lamb.

She competes in Agility and Barn Hunting, and lives on our farm. She gets lots of exercise, so she needs good food. I am so glad that Taste of the Wild offers so many varieties, I can feed her one flavor in the A.

M. and another in the P. M. She is a large dog 55-60 lbs, but I only buy the small bags so that I can buy 2 to 3 different ones to alternate and keep her interested. She has eaten all of the flavors including the Angus limited ingredient.

We recently got a Weimaraner and breeder had started her on a different brand that didn’t seem to agree with her stomach. Pup had some pretty consistent stomach issues and gas so after some research we decided to give this brand a try.

We were looking for a higher protein content then some of the other brands and decided to go grain free due to our puppy having a sensitive stomach. Being a high energy, active breed we wanted quality ingredients that wouldn’t weigh her down and this seems to do the trick.

The excessive gas seems to be gone with the switch and her stomach issues are a thing of the past. She gobbles this food down so I’m assuming it tastes good too. We looked at more expensive brands but the ingredients on this one were too good to pass up for the price.

My only complaint is that I wish they made a bigger bag than the 28lbs. With the larger breeds, we go through this pretty quickly.

I’ve been buying this for my larger dog ever since I got her as a puppy. She’s remained very healthy with no issues. I also give this to my smaller adult dog who has no issue eating this either (the kibble size isn’t a problem for him).

However, recently, my vet told me to avoid feeding my dogs grain-free foods as there has been health issues related to it, so I’m now switching over to the Taste of the Wild dry dog food with ancient grains in it.

I would give this 5 stars but because of this recent change, I’m knocking it down to 3 stars. Dogs: Boxer/German Shepherd, ~60lbs & Chihuahua/Dachshund, ~15lbs.

Among other issues, my Great Dane has a severe skin allergy. Gets red and swollen all over, causing him great discomfort and constant itching to the point of raw spots. I tried special formulas and even prescription food.

No improvement. Then my vet recommended this and it got a bit better. He also wasn’t gaining weight as he should and was lethargic. Now he is markedly healthier, good weight, happier and loves the taste! Best giant breed food I’ve found.

I was worried when purchasing this food since my Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd mix can have a sensitive stomach and is prone to bloat. The food transitioned easily and my dog never had a problem with this food.

The kibble is large, textured and has an aroma that is not overwhelming. The larger kibble slows down his food consumption time and lessens his susceptibility to swallow without chewing. My only complaint I have is that I wish they made this food in a larger size.

My dog will go through the bag quickly due to his size and to keep him at a healthy weight. He still receives supplements but this food has already helped him maintain his weight and a healthy sheen to his coat.

Our almost 5-year-old rough coat Saint Bernard has been eating Pro Plan Giant Breed chicken & rice ever since we weaned him off puppy food at 6 months of age. He is lean, fit, healthy, and has a soft, shiny, luxurious coat.

His stools are always minimal and firm and he has never had any digestive issues on this food (something that Saint Bernards are notorious for). We are constantly getting compliments on his coat and our vet is extremely happy with his overall body condition and health.

She always tells us to keep him on whatever food we are feeding him because it is obviously working wonders. We also have 5 show Golden Retrievers who eat other varieties of Pro Plan with outstanding results.

This is the only brand of food that we will ever feed our dogs. This has been our go-to food for the past 15 years. Pro Plan has been around for decades and has many years of science and proven results behind it, so we know it’s a brand that we can fully trust to keep our pack healthy and looking and feeling their best.

With all of the recent issues that have come to light over the last few years relating to dilated cardiomyopathy stemming from grain-free and so-called “holistic” dog foods, we feel very comfortable knowing that our dogs are safe on Pro Plan.

I can’t recommend this brand enough.

Good stuff according to Chip and Dale. Only issue I had was that I bought a bulk bag but when I received the bag it was cut open and all the pellets were in a cardboard box wrapped in plastic wrap so when I opened it 18lbs of pellets went everywhere.

I own a super picky Cane Corso. I mean, when it comes to people food he turns his nose up at anything with sugar or anything processed. even meat. Processed lunchmeat. nope. Real ham or loin, beef, chicken yes.

He likes this dog food. After reading the ingredients so do I. A friend of mine was boasting about the dog food he feeds, saying I should try Kane on it. Pedigree High Protein. 27% Protein 12% Fat. First ingredients Ground whole grain corn, meat and bone meal (source of calcium) The next is kind of a meat.

chicken by-product meal ?????? I dont remember a time I fed store food to my dogs but I am shocked people buy it. Read the ingredients of any Taste of the Wild food. It is a known fact wild meat naturally caries a higher vitamin content.

I applaud the makers of this food that they make it available for my dog. Yes, it costs a little more. But my dog is a giant and he has NO joint issues, bone issues, or structure issues. His coat glistens and feels softer than smooth velvet, he is extremely curious and smart as a whip.

I can teach him most things in a few minutes. and his energy level makes it easy to keep him well muscled and in excellent shape. and he likes it.

I used to buy Taste of the Wild from a pet food chain until they suddenly discontinued it – which coincidentally was around the same time that Fleet Farm started selling it. Taste of the Wild was considered to be one of the top high quality brands among all the other expensive featured dog foods at the other retailer.

Now you can get it at a fraction of the cost at Fleet Farm. I am thrilled because this has been my choice of dog food for many years. My dogs never get tired of it. They scarf it down so fast I don’t know how they actually enjoy it – other than their sense of smell.

I buy various flavors to change things up once in a while and one thing that makes my pups super happy is that I top the hard food with Taste of the Wild’s canned food. Just add a teaspoon of that in their bowl and there won’t be one crumb left in the bowl.

Healthy food, high quality, and you will not get a better price anywhere. Don’t buy junk food for you pets. get this product. Your pets will thank you.

All dry food is garbage made from mostly plant material and junk, and disguised as a meat product. That said, I think this one isn’t as bad as most. I think it’s better than some that sell for nearly twice as much.

However, it was one of the many brands of grain-free dog foods that caused congestive heart failure in many thousands of dogs by not providing enough taurine. Taste of the Wild now adds taurine, so I presume that is resolved.

Luckily, I feed my dogs 50% dry and 50% raw meat and organs, so they had plenty of taurine. Most TotW varieties also have a pretty terrible Omega-6 to Omega-3 ratio. The ratio for dogs (and humans) should be 4:1, but TotW varieties range anywhere from 10:1 to nearly ideal (in 1 variety).

If you feed this food (or almost any food), you should balance the omega-6 to omega-3 ratio with added omega-3s. I use human grade fish oil. Finally, the formula changes almost continuously. Thats true of all TofW dry foods, and many other dry foods.

Each variety used to have at least 4 fresh meat types listed 1st, then meat meal type, then vegetable matter as tubers and legumes, then chicken fat. The brand gradually went through changes that reduced the fresh meat, increased the legumes and tubers, changed the fat sources to suboptimal plant oils (high in omega-6, among other things), replaced good meat protein with questionable “egg product,” and then even that animal protein source with such trash as pea protein, all to increase their profit margin even as the brand has made huge gains in popularity availability which, clearly, already increases profits exponentially.

There really isn’t a good excuse for the decrease in quality, but it happens with every brand of dog food I’ve ever (initially) been happy with. So READ the LABEL on EVERY BAG. Take a picture of the ingredients, and watch for those sneaky changes.

There will soon come a time when Taste of the Wild is just as bad as any other brand, and it’ll be time to find another little company that hasn’t (yet) made profit margins their sole focus.

Is anyone else’s dog wound up with their liver messing up after giving their dog this dog food? My brothers lab was doing the same thing and did not like it but she would eventually eat it. Well after awhile she started throwing up.

Then took her to the vet her liver levels was elevated. She started doing a little better then out of the blue last week she quit eating any food. Her stumick swelled up come to find out it was due to her liver.

Unfortunately we lost her yesterday morning. My whole family is devastated. She was not just a dog but our family. Now come to find out a friend of my brothers Fiance said her friend reached out and his dog which was on the same food is having liver issues and they do not know how long it will live.

I love the instinct line and it’s quality ingredients. It’s also the only dog food I’ve ever opened that actually smells appetizing and smells like the ingredients on the label- a great sign. Usually, the more meaty it smells, the more a dog is likely to eat it.

My dog on the other hand refuses! We just switched from hills which he also refused after a month. Picky eater on my hands and I’ve been trying everything. A BIG con though is the zip on the bag, it’s completely useless.

Just got this from Walmart and will be free/incentivized for paticipating in the @influenster cashback campaign. In exchange, I’m giving my honest feedback after trying the product. My cockapoo loves his red meats! I’ve tried lots of lamb recipes and was worried because I kept changing up his food that he would be very picky when trying this brand.

IAMs is awesome. I’ve switched his dry food about a handle of times and he seems to really love this Lamb and rice recipe. Really huge bag, as big as he is! This bag would probably serve him for over 2 months if I mix up some wet food on special occasions.

He’s getting to an age where I need to find his favorite brand and stick to it. He really enjoys this one and I would definitely recommend!.

Our 15 yr old dog was having horrible diahrrea, appetite was almost non existent, and her stomach was making suspicious noises. This came on sudden, she wouldnt eat her regular food (which she had been on for years).

We were told to feed her chicken and rice to settle her stomach along with medication the vet prescribed then go to a prescription gastrointestinal food. we did and honestly she barely ate those some days.

No improvement after two months. No cause found. She dropped almost 20 lbs. Blood work normal Vet said there was nothing more they could do, advised us to go to the internal medicine. We did. Our dog was diagnosed with severe inflammatory bowel disease, is now allergic to anything with chicken or grain.

She has to be on a VERY strict diet They said 70% of what’s going to help her is diet. We opted for this food. Within a couple days, she had her first REGULAR bowel movement in months! we almost cried.

she’s been on this food exclusively for two weeks now and I swear the change is incredible. Her energy is up, she’s eating ALL of her food, no accidents, no stomach noises, no diahrrea at ALL. It’s a blessing truly as we were having to discuss putting her to sleep because of the issues she was having and their not being a cause or solution found until we went to I.

My dog’s rescue coordinator highly recommended grain-free dog food when I adopted Morgan in 2014. I had been purchasing several different brands since then up until his vet detected a slight heart murmur.

She indicated that grain-free food may be related to heart issues. I switched to Royal Canin Senior 10+ and after several months his vet claimed that she could not detect a murmur. When COVID hit and there was a shortage of this brand, I switched to another highly rated brand and noticed that my dog’s stool was soft and difficult to pick up.

Before my next auto-ship order, I spoked with a Chewy customer service rep who claimed that the reason for the soft stool may be related to the fact that my dog did not need and/or was unable to digest the nutrients in this brand.

I asked her for a recommendation and the Blue Buffalo was one of the brands she suggested and after reading the reviews, I ordered a 24 pound bag. Although, he has only been eating it for a couple of weeks, I have noticed a change in his stool consistency, however, he is still eating grass.

A neighbor suggested feeding him greens (broccoli, asparagus, etc. ) in addition to his Blue Buffalo which may help keep him from eating grass.

We had our 50lb. Pitbull/Foxhound mix eating food that the shelter had her on before we rescued her and after a few months, she was not really interested anymore and would not eat for a day or two at a time as a result.

I figured that she just didn’t like the food anymore and/or that she was bored with it. We made the switch to the Turkey & Potato Recipe Basics food and it has made a huge difference! She went from a lazy sniff and walk away of the other food to instant lock on as soon as we put her bowl down.

She did get a little bored with this food after a week or two (as in it took her longer to be interested and go eat it), but I also bought the same flavor wet food cans and began to mix it in to see if it would entice her.

That worked gangbusters! Now she literally attacks her food and inhales it within minutes of setting the bowl down. Her energy level has sky rocketed and her coat is much more shiny and healthy looking than with the other brand.

If you have a picky eater, consider the basics dry and wet food combination because it has worked wonders for our little Dottie girl!.

I am familiar with this brand due to small animals such as rats, ferrets, a european starling – and I will admit myself a bit of a dog snob when it comes to what I want to feed my crew. In seeing the ingredients list, I would have NEVER willingly picked this to feed to my dogs.

However, I decided to give it a try in knowing how balanced it had been for my other critters. The price is fantastic of course as I otherwise would be spending more for premium brands to cater to my working dogs.

I am only a month in on this stuff and feeding a house of 6 dogs – so far so good! No complaints about stool size, frequency, or consistency – all good things there. My dogs’ coats are shiny like it had been on the expensive foods I have given them.

I am not noticing any weight issues on anyone in my crew yet – be it weight gain or weight loss and I keep my dogs well conditioned, so that is important for me especially as some of my malinois have a harder time holding their weight at times.

It seems like a good status quo food so far for dogs. I would certainly change my review if something wild comes up with using this food, but for now it’s got the thumbs up from me.

My guy is hard to keep weight on. And he can be a bit picky on food. He loves and does better on food with pork in it and this stuff does. I figured out how many grams in a lb and then how many cups were in a lb to get the calories per cup.

Has a higher caloric count so works well for my guy. Says right on the bag they tested it in breeding facilities as well as zoos and universities. So should not negatively impact his fertility as some foods can do.

He was digging through when I transitioned him to this food to seek the NEW stuff over his old food. He likes it!!!.

For anyone looking for a great fox food for their pet fox I highly recommend this!! My fox gobbles it right up and it has helped her with so many stool issues! She finally has solid normal poops!! It only took being on this for a week and finally have consistently normal poops!.

I received this product for free from Influenster and Merrill in exchange for an honest review. Ok first off, the packing look nice. I wish it came with a zip closure though because I have a small dog and she doesn’t eat that much so I have to keep opening and closing it since I didn’t have an extra container to put all of it in.

The smell is OVERWHELMING. It is extremely potent and it doesn’t smell that great. With that said, it doesn’t seem like it bothers my dog. The kibbles are a nice size and there are real chunks of meat in there.

The first time my dog ate it, she only ate the meat chunks and left the kibbles. She eventually came back and ate the kibbles though. She didn’t seem to have any bad reactions to the food – which she usually does have a hard time switching food in the past so that was nice.

Overall, I wish they have sampler sizes so we can try the other flavors for my dog. I don’t know that I’m willing to commit to a 4lb bag right away.

First I have to say ,I did feed merrick to my dogs years ago ,but at the time they had only one variation of poultry free. Two of my dogs were allergic to chicken/turkey and grains ,yes they were both tested multi times.

So after about five months they got tired of the food ,since I can only get them one meat protein from merrick that had no poultry along with no grain. So I switched them to some thing else but it was only sold on line and shipping was slow.

Then I switched that food to another ,than another but the last food was always on back order and not sold at any retail pet store. So my daughter got a bag of this merrick pacific catch at our local pet store and the dogs loved it.

So I came on chewy and they have it ,but again not much choices of poultry /grain free variety there is only two the beef and this salmon ,the food is medium sized kibble and the freeze dried bits are different sizes but differ to one bag to the other meaning the one bag I got (the largest ) one will have lots of freezed dried bits and the next bag hardly any ,I know it goes by weight but would be awesome if each bag had a little more freezed dried bits since it is higher priced then the just grain free.

The salmon is not fishy Smelling and I have not noticed my dogs smelling fishy so as long as they will eat it I will buy ,but they need to come out with more poultry free choices.
