20 Best Food Degradable Essential Oils (2023 Updated)

Since the government banned a lot of poisons, the rodent and insect population has exploded. Insects and rodents have checked out of my house since I’ve been running peppermint essential oil thru a Now diffuser and maintaining bate stations.

We are poison and insecticide free now. These are safer methods than the old ways. By the way, a couple of years ago, I had clove oil injected into the bottom four feet of wood siding and floor beams.

Instant results. I diffuse peppermint oil for insect free maintenance and pleasant aroma.

it’s the most versatile cleaning products I use I go through about four of the 16 oz bottles a year. I use it for at least five different things on a daily basis for cleaning. it’s highly concentrated you don’t need much.

it also works beautifully in a diffuser. it’s wonderful for cleaning toilets dishes laundry more. I put a couple of drops in the tub when I take a bath. if you add a couple of drops to sleep almond oil or avocado oil or whatever.

the combination of the two will moisturize your skin and the peppermint oil will keep it from being greasy. it is wonderful for cutting through any kind of scum whether it’s on the floor on your dishes or on your laundry.

I used some of their other oils to but for me this one’s the best and the safest.

NOW foods essential oils are great quality, and affordable enough to actually use the oils! My mother in law uses the pyramid scheme ones, but I prefer the now brand actually. The only down side is the bottle is too tall for the essential oil box I have.

But even then, I bet they sell it in smaller quantities. I use this peppermint for nausea. You put some on a cotton ball and keep it close to smell it when needed. It’s also helpful for kids who need help focusing.

There are few varieties of Frankincense that PT sells. They are all amazing! Truly. But this one; the Carterii variety, to me, is the one tried and true classic frankincense scent. This scent is ubiquitous with what I know to be that earthy, musky, resinous scent that promotes such blissful calm and relaxation.

Whether it’s simply smelling the bottle or diffused or used on my body in some way, this Frankincense oil stands the test of time as a must have in any essential oil collection. I use it all the time for a variety of things.

It’s a great base oil and blends so well with a large variety of scents making it highly versatile. I would recommend trying all of the Frankincense oils that PT has, but this one, for my money, has that classic scent that we all know and love.

Love the beautiful scent of Blue Tansy & it’s dark cobalt blue color is exquisite. Best of all it aids in healing growths & red patches on Senior’s faces when used in a DIY facial ‘serum’/roll on. I can’t say for sure, but the mix I made did wonders for my Mom’s face, reducing red patches & crusty brown growths on her face completely disappeared- I was amazed.

I believe Blue Tansy was one of several main ingredients, that, along with a rich mixture of carrier oils, cleared up her face & had her looking 10 years younger again! Sorry, I’m not sure where the recipe notes are but from memory, it included anti age blend, blue tansy, helichrysum italicium, frankincense Fereana, rose otto 10% w/meadow foam, carrot seed, German Chamomile, Egyptian Geranium, & Jasmine Sambac (because I love the smell!), in rosehip, jojoba, evening primrose, tamanu, apricot kernal oils (+ castor & vit e oil from local pharmacy).

Bit of a kitchen sink, but it worked. Made it in a 2 oz glass bottle, then filled a 10 ml roll on to apply to her face every night at bedtime & also any time I thought of it. Was amazed at the results.

It was the first DIY I really made. And Blue Tansy smells like heaven. It’s also got respiratory & allergy benefits, along with promoting calm & self confidence – what’s not to love? Started off with a 2.

5 ml bottle then got a 10 ml. Unfortunately I then found out that it isn’t Dog Safe, which has limited my ability to use it, but I still add a bit to face serums & occasionally to add a special note to DIY perfume roll ons.

✨Overall Impression✨ I want to start off and say that I’m very very particular about lavender oils. Lavender is by far my favorite scent, second to jasmine. I’ve been exposed to high grade lavender essential oils ever since childhood due to my cultural background and honestly not much is compared to the essential oils I’ve been exposed to growing up, besides high-grade lavender essential oils from France.

I love this particular lavender essential oil because it is 💦potent💦 (yup – I literally die at this). Spike lavender is the same as Spanish lavender, which is regarded to be a more potent type of lavender essential oil.

I just love the particular smell of this, even compared to the regular lavender essential oil that is sold by the NOW brand. ✨How I Use This✨ I use this oil to make my own perfumes, as well as in my essential oil diffusers and sprays for my sheets and pillow.

✨Tips Tricks✨ I use this lavender oil to blend my own perfumes. Before I leave the house, I will use a few drops of this on my inner elbow and wrists, and mix it with a more base heavy kind of scent, like sandalwood or patchouli.

At the same time, I will do this while mixing it into a small amount of moisturizer with oils in it. This will extend the wear of the scent. ✨Will I Repurchase?✨ This is great for the price and amount received.

This will be a repurchase for me. I purchased this oil from iHerb. com on sale, so I’ll buy a whole bunch of them during the next sale!.

I’ve used essential oils (EOs) for 47 years (that’s right) for all types of purposes and frankly I was an essential oil snob for too many of these years. Obviously I’ve had time to compare multiple brands.

There are lots of very high priced oils that claim their product is the purest, and the best because of their distillation process. There are some pretty crappy cheap oils on the market and frankly, some sub-par very expensive oils too.

These days, the bottom line for me is only if it works well. I no longer buy into “the more expensive the oil, the better”. I am very satisfied with NOW oils so far. You can purchase bigger bottles at great prices as opposed to the tiny bottles aromatherapists are used to.

Quality doesn’t have to be expensive. I haven’t tried all of NOW’s oils but I do have quite a few and there aren’t any differences between NOW and the way too many costly brands I’ve purchased in the past (you know the brands I’m talking about).

Seriously. Remember to read the product description carefully. It will tell you if the oil is suspended in a carrier oil or is pure. I’ve only purchased pure EOs from NOW and I have no complaints about the scent, the color, the feel/consistency, or the efficacy of the oils for the uses I put them to.

Their myrrh oil is as good as any brand I’ve ever used and I have purchased some very expensive myrrh oils in the past. Super pleased with this oil (and the others I have purchased) and the price. I’m very thankfuI Now Foods has entered into the world of essential oils because this market is overwhelmed with tiny bottles of oils that are way too costly just because they could.

I love that there is a worthy competitor in NOW. I have not been paid or compensated in any way for this review.

Love this essential oil!!! I like adding it to any face masks or hair mask I’m making at home. Great essence and consistency feels pure and fresh. Remember to dilute it for best results it can be irritating specially if you have sensitive skin.

What I like is how real this oil smells! Exactly like oranges and not like a fake orange flavour type smell. No improvement needed. It is as an oil should be. Great value. The only downside is I can only order from their website as I haven’t seen any stores selling it.

It would be nice to be able to actually test some out in person before purchasing.

Love my Rocky Mountain Oils. Lemon is so nice to difuse in the house. Alone or mixed with other citrus scents it really gives an energizing smell. I also like to put a few drops in warm water and soak my dusting towel in it.

I also like to occasionally put a few drops in my bathwater for a refreshing feeling.

I’m so happy that Rocky Mountain Oils is adding organic essential oils to their collection. I do enjoy using lemon essential oil, and now that they offer it certified organic, I will never go back to another blend.

I’ve been using essential oils for years, Lavender from DoTERRA and Young living and some basic simple inexpensive ones that came with diffuser or I quickly grabbed at Home Goods that have been far better than this.

This is by far be the worst smelling lack of lavender oil I’ve ever smelled. I’ve even tried mixing it with other lavender oil and it’s just so not lavender it kills the other scent in the diffuser. Maybe I got a bad batch or they only use lavender stems or leaves without any flowers but it’s nothing but bad.

Sadly a total waste of money.

Eucalyptus oil is very essential in my home. I use it whenever we get sick. It helps us have a sound sleep at night. It’s a useful. It relieves my babies stuffed nose. I add few drops in the humidifier and the aroma helps us breath better.

In the beginning I was little nervier because the good price of this big size bottom. I use a ton of lavender oil and need it to be a quality product. After 2 or 3 times a day and one week using, awesome love this product.

I used it in the shower at night and it really relaxes and helps me release my stress from my job and family , I also open the cap of the bottom and put around my pillow, it did help me fall to sleep easily and deeply.

I also use it in my diffuser as well and mix it with another calming oil. It works wonders when I dilute it in water and moisturizer for my skin it feels fresh renewed and it helped clear up my acne.

The scent is nice and authentic. The stars are NOT for the scent and the quality, but because I most likely received a half empty bottle. I’ve used this oil maybe 5 times max and it’s now completely empty compared to my other ones which last much longer.

I use about 10 drops even though it suggests 20. It’s hard to tell how much is in the bottle because it’s matte black and I guess I didn’t check (up against a bright light) when it arrived if it was missing half the liquid because, you know, I expected to receive an unused product.

I get that I bought this during the summer sale but I can assure you that I still wouldn’t have bought it half off if I knew the bottle was half gone :/.

I absolutely love how elegant this diffuser looks. I was definitely looking for something luxurious and this was it. I have it placed amongst my plants in my bedroom and it’s helping us all deal with the dry air.

I use the sweet orange essential oil in the mornings and moonbeam and ceremony essential oil blends in the evenings. The scents are incredible and you really only need tiniest amount — they’re so concentrated!.

vitruvi’s ylang ylang is lovely—probably the best I’ve ever smelled. But it IS potent. When I use it in a blend in my diffuser (example: lavender, ylang ylang, frankincense, cedarwood before bed), I find even just a couple drops can overpower the blend, so I need to be careful.

That being said, the quality is exceptional. It’s pure, delightful, and smells like a bouquet of fresh flowers. It’s incredible to achieve and experience that kind of abundance and true to life-ness in an EO.

This is a standout in my collection, I just need to be mindful and intentional with how I use it. I’m still experimenting, but I think I prefer using it in bath & beauty products and rituals rather than diffusing.

I also find it rather feminine and a little too much for my husband, so if diffusing, I use it when I want to carve out time and space for myself, which also lends it a kind of mysterious and magical quality—not unlike a secret garden.

If you love ylang ylang and strong florals, you will love this abundant EO.

TLDR; Smells great but, TOXIC to pets. I have been using this for a few days in our diffuser during bed time. It helps bring calm and has definitely helped us sleep better. It smells fantastic too, even my partner who hates scents really likes it.

I thought this oil was just camomile & lavender oils but after looking at the ingredients, it contains orange, oregano, & geranium essential oils which are TOXIC to pets. I absolutely didn’t know until looking at the bottle and feel horrible that I could have put my pups at risk.

I just want to warn other pet parents to please forego using this blend and just use pure lavender & camomile. Its going in the trash & lesson learned!.

Wow. I Am SUPER Picky With My Essential Oils And Fragrances. This Blend Is The Most Balanced And Soothing I Have Ever Come Across. I Love That It Doesn’t Rely So Heavily On Lavender; It’s There, But Balanced So Well In The Blend.

It’s Not Too Herbal, Not Too Citrus, Not Too Earthy (In Fact, I Adore That Is Has Patchouli In It To Mellow Everything Out. But Know That If You Don’t Like Patchouli, You Will Be Totally Fine With This) This Is So Fragrant Just A Few Drops On A Pepper Towel Or Cotton Ball Fills A Room For Days.

The Fragrance Notes Evolve Over Time To Continuing Loveliness. I Never Tire Of It, Which Is Also Remarkable. My Home Smells Expensive And Inviting, And I Cannot Say Enough Good Things About It. The Best.

I was trying to branch out from my one peppermint oil I always use (not a big diffuser person at all, just for sleep, just peppermint). It smelled like a gym locker room!!! This is so bad. Do not buy this.

Smells like sweaty man butt. Honest!.

I used to absolutely hate tea tree oil because of the scent but I will say that it has definitely grown on me and I actually even kind of enjoy the smell of it now. I use tea tree oil (along with a few other essential oils) mixed with water as a bug repellent in the spring and summer and it works really well when sprayed on windowsills, inside and outside of doors and windows etc **HOWEVER**.

my main use and my favorite use for this oil is using it to steam my face. I boil a large pot of water on the stove and then I add about 10 drops of tea tree oil along with a few others (lavender, peppermint eucalyptus, rose and sometimes a tiny bit of frankincense), then I bring it to my bathroom, set it on the floor, sit on the floor and drape a towel over my head and around the pot and breathe deeply and slowly, kind of like a meditation for at least 5 mins but I try and aim for 10.

OH EM GEE let me tell y’all, on nights when I do this (after cleansing, exfoliating and toning but before everything else in my skincare routine I cannot stop touching my face. Even the whole next day my face feels like silk.

Not only that but it also makes it look amazing and feel so incredibly fresh and clean. I try to do this once a week but if I had the time and the patience I would do it every single night. It’s just so good for the skin and the steam opens the pores making it super easy for the skin to truly absorb the serums, treatments and moisturizers I use afterwards.

This oil makes a great additive to my vape juice. Good taste and strong flavor, from the pure oil, no alcohol!

Zongle USDA certified organic wild orange essential oil is amazing. I defuse and use it in handmade soaps and lotions.

This is the thieves oil blend, famous for its Immunity that protects against and heals any kind of virus, plague, bacteria, allergy, mold, you name it. What I’m noticing initially is that it’s helping me with a lifelong chronic sinus condition, allergy, as whenever I’m diffusing it, my nose opens up more.

That’s pretty amazing, as nothing else has ever helped!! The scent isn’t flowery, as it smells mostly like eucalyptus. It has a sort of medicinal smell. So don’t expect it to smell like a pleasant air freshener.

At first I didn’t like the scent, but I’m getting used to it, and I don’t diffuse it all day, but maybe twice a day. It wears off after about 4 hours using the diffuser. You can also mix it with carrier oil and apply it to skin and it’s an effective pain killer, though not usually touted as that.

Look up thieves oil and read about all it can do. I see it as an overall tonic because of its many healing ingredients.

I have used essential oils (EOs) for years, and have purchased them from all the big players. Young Living, DoTerra, Aura Cacia, Now Foods, etc. I know what EOs are supposed to smell like. I love Thrive Market (TM) and was excited to see that they were carrying EOs even though I was slightly suspicious of the really low price (particularly on this lavender oil).

Well, my suspicions were warranted. I ordered a bottle of this a few months back and it smelled bad. I thought it was maybe a fluke and since I love TM I thought I’d “take one from the team” and decided not to complain.

Well, I regret not complaining, because the second bottle I ordered smells the exact same way: rancid/spoiled/off. For those wondering, you get a slight top-note of lavender followed by a big ‘ole whiff of STINK.

Think spoiled vegetation. Think compost pile. Also, when I saw that another reviewer experienced the same thing, I knew I had to chime in. TM, you need to source this stuff from elsewhere because this “lavender” is terrible :(.

Unfortunately, I am going to hesitate to buy essential oils from Thrive after this one. I love that they are Organic and well priced, but this Rosemary just does not smell awesome. I have used other rosemary essential oils, and this one just does not have that classic rosemary smell.

It is slightly harsh on the nose with that “dirty” smell someone else mentioned. I do love it for focus though! Does the trick. Always a great experience with customer service and packaging from Thrive, just didn’t love this one as much as I had hoped!.

Munchy Stop has a wonderful scent. it’s blend includes: Copaiba Grapefruit Pink Turmeric CO2 Lemon Myrtle Yuzu – a Citrus fruit. Very Uplifting Aroma. This is my 2nd purchase I want to gift it to my cousin.

I added Munchy Stop to a personal aromatherapy inhaler I enjoy the Citrus smells. I created 2 other inhalers and shared them with my grand-daughter & a cousin. They really like the scent also. It does help to close your eyes inhale slowly and deeply.

Allow the scent to replace the craving. it’s a matter of retraining the brain one day at a time. tI’ve yet to Diffuse Munchy Stop I do intend to. I have Pink Grapefruit which I diffuse.
