20 Best Folding Ebike Under 1000 (2023 Updated)

I bought 2 of these for my wife and myself. They arrived in perfect condition and are packaged very securely. The bikes assemble in about 1 hour each and have pretty good instructions. These bikes fold up and I can fit them into the back of my SUV.

Upon riding, these bikes move quick and went through Florida sugar sand with ease. We found they handle great on or off road. As for the range on a charge with no peddling, I get about 26 miles. One of the best features is that you can ride them in 3 modes; peddle assist, full electric or peddle only.

We love them and are very happy.

We bought two Ecotric Folding Fat Tire Bikes from Upzy. The came promptly, and were securely packaged. They were easy to assemble. They look bigger and more substantial in person than they do in the pictures.

They roll very easily on pavement, even with the fat off-road tires. They have plenty of torque. The speed is good, though they do not go as fast downhill as a regular bike. We have ridden them on and off road.

In sand and dirt, they are surprisingly able. They do well on hills, though the steep ones will cause the motor to bear down. That is to be expected. I took one bike 21 miles one day, and still had about half the battery remaining.

We took then to a family reunion, and everyone was able to ride them, from the shortest young ladies to the tallest (6’4″) men. The handlebars and seats adjust very easily to accommodate anyone. Some of the men weighed 225-235, and they handled even them with ease and comfort.

Everyone was blown away by them! The pedal assist is effective. A plus with these bikes is that the throttle is always available, and cancels out the pedal assist, so if you get to a stoplight and forget to shift down, you can just engage the throttle until the bike is going, and no problem, the pedal assist can take over again whenever you’re ready.

I took the bike to work, mostly uphill for 8 miles. I got there in one-half hour (it takes 20 minutes by car). I was not sweaty and winded, but I felt like I have a good workout, which is just what I wanted.

You can get as much or as little exercise as you want. We took our two bikes 650 miles to Arizona in the back of our Chevy Volt, and they fit beautifully. Very impressed. Warning: When you ride them, be ready to talk about them with everyone you meet!.

My wife and I cart two of these around on rack behind of our motor home and above the toad car. Mine will have covered 2000 miles by the end of this summer, all trouble free miles, over all sorts of terrain.

Battery life is excellent, though I inserted puncture belts in all the wheels as we are not short of thorns in NM. They fold to half their size, so just great for winter storage. Would we purchase them again, oh yes !.

This ebike is great. Know that you won’t be doing any work at all. So if you are looking to just get some assistance from the bike, it’s more like the bike does it all for you. Nice quality and powerful.

Little heavy…but manageable…rear light or reflector would be nice…banana seat is what I need most😆😁😆…I’m old school but your product is great…see you again…😉

My wife is 5’1′ height, and i bought a steady for her as a birthday present. 20′ ebike is suitable for her, pedal assistance really make her easy on her way, she loves that, she ride it to work everyday.

if you are like me and you are trying to find ways around spending copious amounts of money on gas this may be for you. The ebike is overall really impressive its got some zip to it for sure and handles pretty well.

charge time is fairly decent and battery life inst bad either. currently using it to commute to work and it does the job fine. ok now for the down sides the bike is fairly small so taller people will definitely run into issues like bumping the power button off or completely smashing your knees into the handle bars.

i also think the bikes internal computer is a little temperamental when it come to changing gear and applying more torque, sometimes not responding to the throttle at all. if you live in a city like San Francisco like me you will be pedaling this thing up every small incline.

i also wish there was more accessory support from the company as these come bone dry of any features similar sized ebikes include(digital displays,baskets, etc. ).

My wife and I bought our eBikes (2) last August and absolutely Love Them! I try to ride mine at least 5 times a week. Winter Time curtailed my ride time, but Spring is here and back to riding on my schedule.

My wife and I enjoy riding together on several local trails and love the Exercise we get from them. I can’t think of One Thing to improve on it. The Battery Life is Very Adequate for us. We generally ride around a 4 to 5 mile route.

Im open to try new things and i thought i would give the Jetson axle 12′ rush Bike a try. It’s been awhile since i rode a bike,like over 20 years. Got the bike in and took out of the box and it was very easy to setup.

They even supply the wrench to install the pedals. I got it and i weigh in the 200s lbs and it held me very well. pedaling is smooth and one of the best features is it has a battery assist which helps pull you without pedaling and it pulled me with no problem at all.

It has actual disc brakes in front and rear for braking which works very well as i also live on a slight hill and it brings me to a stop with no problems. Another great feature is the handle bars folds down so you can take it with you in a car with no trouble of not having any room, I recommend the Jetson Axle Rush 12″ bike to my friends and everyone! if not them then kids 12 and up will really like it!!! My 12 year old rides it alot and is happy to ride it!!!.

Don’t buy this NAKTO brand. They will NOT stand behind their products. When my bike broke down they would NOT return ANY of my emails. I sent multiple. all respectfully worded, except the last one. When I called the NAKTO customer service line I got a recording saying, “the mailbox is full”.

What a joke this company and their products are. I bought one for my wife and one for me. both trash!!!!. and they weigh a TON. Component’s are CRAP, rusting and falling apart. I had to change out our seat the very 1st time we road them.

the bike is noisy and rattling from practically everywhere!!! NAKTO’s geared hub motors are extremely weak, mine has a really bad grinding noise. The braking system is rusted, noisy and barely working.

So, believe me folks, NAKTO, it’s NOT WORTH IT. go shop elsewhere. run away from this bad investment. If you buy one of their products, you, your wallet and anyone you buy it for will be sorry.

Really nice bike. It was easy to set up – about 45 mins or so. It has great power for going up hills and so far battery charge is still full even after 10/12 miles. I have trouble with my knees but find it easy to get on and off because it is so low.

The only negative is that the seat was not comfortable so I replaced it with a better one. I also added a rear light.

Really loving my new bike! It is comfortable and light weight and perfect for commuting in the city. Assembling was a bit tricky since the pieces received differed a bit from the assembly video on the site, but overall satisfied with my purchase.

First of all, riding this ebike is a delight and it made me realize I how useful it could be in the long run, this ebike solidified my desire to have an ebike. However, I’ve realized that I don’t think I can personally get away with an ebike by mail.

Here are my list of things that made this experience difficult: 1. Poor Instruction Manuel: There were barely any words or pictures of the parts it was referring to, they just expected you to know. I’ve set up a lot of electronic and furniture so I’m use to skimpy instructions but, when you have instructions like that you need a nicely itemized and visual display of the components.

I didn’t even see the derailment guard in the picture and spent a long time trying to figure out what I was supposed to do. 2. Missing and Subpar Parts: I did not receive the wire wrap that is shown in the pictures.

So I was concerned that the wires would get pinched or cut at any moment. The toolkit, or multi-tool, was so poorly made that the nut holding one end together flew off while using it and all the Allen heads slid off the bolt.

I would have called the company and asked for the missing and damaged item to be sent to me, but for the rest of the list. 3. Handlebar and Tire Alignment: When setting up the bike I made sure to tighten the handle bar as much as possible and it seemed to hold, but then during my first test drive I turned the handlebars to initiate a turn and the tire and handlebar fell out of alignment.

I got off the bike and retightened everything but it happened again during a second test drive. I then tried a third time and this is when the multitool fell apart in my hand. I had to call a friend to bring his tools and help me tighten it and it held during my third test drive but then over the next day slowly started to lose alignment again.

4. Construction: I couldn’t shift gears for my first three test beyond 5th no matter what I tried, eventually I figured out that it was too close to the handbrakes and that was preventing it from shifting to first.

So I had to with my now individual tools that fallen loose of the multitool, unfasten the shifter and move it until it was no longer in contact with the brakes. Additionally, there were random half fastens bolts all over the bike that the directions didn’t address at all, was I supposed to tighten them or were they in the right place? Logic told me to tighten them but they should have come tightened.

Lastly, front light would always fall during my rides, I’d straighten it and then it would tilt again until it pointed to the ground. Don’t know if this was a bad connection or due to the delivery man literally rolling [read flipping] the box on over like a square tire, but at that point I couldn’t even be bothered to check.

I decided to go to the nearest bike show for them to check it over and the quote I was given, would have taken the overall cost of the pick to 200 more than an in-store completely built model. As such, I returned to buy 1 in-store.

I got this for my daughter for Christmas (she is in her 20s), and she really liked it. As far as electric bikes go this is a pretty good price and divide into 5 flex pays is good. It’s still winter but she has tried it a couple times and likes it.

This bike comes with a VERY small uncomfortable seat so I switched it out for a schwinn cruiser seat. I don’t know why they would put that kind of seat on this because most people are gonna mostly sit and use power to go and those tiny seats are more for intense peddling.

Folding bike in half is hard and awkward and hard to carry when folded in half because you have to hold both front and back since nothing holds them together when folded, but it is a good option to have to put in trunk.

I also had to call company to send velcro band strip that holds all wires together in front of handle bars because not included and no tools were included, but customer service promptly sent all that out.

I took 1 star off for cheap small seat and having to wait for items that should have been included. I am hoping my daughter gets a lot of use out of it and battery lasts. Luckily I purchased a few weeks before Christmas so I had all the issues worked out by Christmas.

I would still recommend and would purchase again and seems solid.

Very easy to assemble. Customer service is via a live representative, if help needed. Have tested bike for 100 miles so far. No issues, whatsoever. Local mountain has 13. 5% grade, 1. 4 mile climb. Saw a peak power output of about 730W in 3rd gear.

Didn’t need to drop down to 1st gear to climb, so bike motor has adequate power. Brakes are good, stops are controlled and short. Changed to a more padded seat from an old bike. Headlight has two bulbs and projects sufficiently far ahead, important if going downhill at higher speeds.

Battery range is quite good. Quoted range from manufacturer appears to be accurate, unlike a lot of other bike companies’ outrageous claims. Useful guideline to estimate range is 25 kWh per mile on throttle only and 15 kWh per mile using pedal assist.

Folding bike is easy and makes it easy to load into trunk of car. Also makes it more secure when locked to a bike rake. Purchase price of $640 was excellent for the quality of the bike. The price has gone back up again since then.

Battery is not replaceable! I have to give this bike 1 star because the battery is not replaceable. My wife has been using this bike for her commute on a semi-regular basis since September 2018. The rear tire went flat after a month (another common issue in the reviews).

And then after a little over a year, the bike’s battery doesn’t last enough for her commute sometimes, which is only 1. 3 miles! She has to walk the bike to her work. What a let down. $500 and it’s only good for a year.

Worst of all, they only have a one-year warranty! Wal-Mart offers a 3-year warranty and I regret not getting that. The Swagtron EB-7 *does* have a replaceable battery so even though it’s a little more expensive, I probably should’ve got that.

Bike is an excellent value. Build , fit and finish on mine is great. Brakes are rock solid. Motor / power ok but with my 235lbs, needs some pedal assistance uphills greater than about 20 degrees. My max speed on level was 15 mph.

Seat and other adjustments very quick with the quick releases. Folds quite small for transport. I put a gel seat cushion on the stock saddle for comfort and also added front and rear tube mount lights.

I feel this was a solid buy and look forward to using it on the boardwalk and more commutes around town. Will have to see how it holds up. So far after 2 weeks quite happy.

Received this bike two days again. It is even more fun that I thought it would be. We are in an RV park for the winter and I am having great time riding it around the park and the neighborhood. It is very responsive, holds a charge for a long time and is easy to ride.

It seems well made, is light weight and folds nicely. I will enjoy this bike for a long time.

When I first got the bike it would not turn on so I contacted customer service and they sent me a new controller board (the LCD thing). That didn’t solve the problem. After much back and forth with customer service they offered to pay for whatever the cost might be to repair the bike -which was like totally unreal.

However, I did not want to take the bike all the way to some obscure bike shop where they may or may not be able to fix it (there are no licensed cyrusher bike repair places near me) so I asked them to please send me a new battery so we could see if that was the issue.

They not only sent me a new battery but ALSO sent me the part that the battery is seated in where the terminals connect. For the purposes of this review we’ll call it the “battery holder”. When I first connected the battery it still didn’t work -which didn’t surprise me since the original battery seemed to be fine.

So the only part left to test out was the battery holder. The battery holder is mounted to the bike frame in the location where you’d normally put a water bottle. There is a cable that goes from the battery holder through the metal frame and comes out at the top where the handlebars are.

The end of that cable is where the wires for the LCD panel and throttle connect to. Here’s where things got interesting. In order for me to disconnect the battery holder so I could replace it with the new one I had to detach the wires for the LCD and throttle from the top and then pull the main cable that is attached to the battery holder through the bike frame.

When I started to pull the cable it came out fairly quickly but the end of it had a plug -THAT WAS NOT CONNECTED!!!THAT WAS THE ISSUE ALL ALONG!!!Now, here’s the thing. Before cyrusher agreed to send me out any replacement parts they made sure that I double and triple checked that all of the cables were connected.

They even made me take pictures and record video. But the entire time no one from the technical support team mentioned anything a.

So I needed another “toy” and had been looking at eBikes, I also have both a mountain bike and a road bike. I ordered the bike last Saturday and it was delivered on the following Friday so not too bad.

It took me about *0 min to assemble but I was distracted and could have finished sooner. The best part of the assembly was these guys included a pretty nice bike tool kit (akin to a Swiss Army knife) and I was blown away but I already have bike tool kit along with plenty of Craftman tools.

Make sure you read the manuals pretty well because it will be very useful. I didn’t know how turn on the headlight and backlight display but if you read the book it will tell you to press and hold the up arrow and the mode button on the display for * seconds and then it will come on.

The headlight is nice and bright. The bike is a BLAST to ride and it hauls @$$! I found the seat to be comfortable and was able to adjust it for my height. I’m *’*” and weigh *08lb and this bike moves me with the quickness.

I ordered a rack and a saddle bags which arrived yesterday but I have not added them to the bike which I’ll do tmrw. I’m primarily gonna ride it to my local Gold’s and the food market from time to time.

Make sure you carry a fix it kit for a flat tire because the tires are not as thick as I would have liked and they seem like they can easily be punctured. I might change them out for at thicker set of tires but for now l’ll just keep them properly inflated and watch for objects on the road that could pierce the tires.

I think this ebike is one of the best in terms of cost and features and this is one of my best buys this year.

We bought two bikes to travel with us when we use our travel trailer. We have been practicing using them near our home with some rather steep grades. The bikes perform amazingly getting up the rises with ease.

I think I have impressed my neighbors, thinking I can pedal up the hills around my home!The bikes feel a little heavy but not unusable. (** pd I think) The pamphlet that comes with the bike leaves a lot of questions about operation also if you’ve never had an ebike it is a little perplexing.

We feel these bikes are a very well-made product for a low to midrange purchase. One caveate is that in level one assist, the bikes tend to take off on level ground, probably with more force than we would like.

This could be an inexperienced rider issue. I would like to see a youtube on how to ride the bike using the options in a much more detailed way. I do not understand the derailleur at all, or its shifter, and there is not much info given on it in the pamphlet.

They were fairly easy to assemble for my husband. We are very pleased and feel we made a good purchase for the money and probably got more than we thought we were getting, to use in more ways than just for camp biking etc.

I would recommend this bike for anyone starting out. I think cyrusher does a very good job with quality and price.

I’ve been looking for a fully absorbent electric bike with 350W, less than 60 pounds, and an adjustable seat for everything. The installation manual is so good that anyone can figure out and put the ebike together.

It’s foldable and easy to carry. Overall, very good. I like it.

Got my Centris a little over 2 weeks ago and so far I’m really impressed. Assembly was pretty easy out of the box; unfold the bike, attach the seat post and handle bars, unfold the pedals. That’s about it.

(Having another person to help wouldn’t hurt. It’s a heavy bike at 67lbs. But I managed alone. ) The bike looks and feels like a quality build. It’s a lot of fun to ride! I live in a ski town and this bike has no problem climbing some of the steeper sections of roads.

The bike shifts smoothly and brakes are working great, no adjustment needed. I wanted a bike for short trips and running errands around town. The Centris comes with fenders, racks and lights standard.

These are features other brands were charging extra for and it sealed the deal for me. The only thing I may need to change out is the seat post. I’m 6’0″ and feel like i’m not getting full leg extension with the post at maximum height.

The only other suggestion I have for improvement for Buzz is to include some literature with the bike on operating it. As an ebike newbie I was a little confused with the directions for the control panel and accidentally switched on walk mode.

The bike took off on me unexpectedly but I was able to recover quickly.

I love my bike. The set is comfortable. The bike is ready to operate. Having the bike assist is awesome so that I can go on really long bike rides. The things I with I could change are having it fold easier.

Once I finally can get our folded, there’s no latch to hold out together so it makes it very difficult to move because it wants to unfold on you. The assist is way too much assist. I have it set to only lever one assist and it doesn’t feel like I’m getting any exercise at all, very minimal peddling effort therefore I never even use anything higher than level one assist.

My husband and I went on a 3 month out west RV tour this summer. We did not want to haul a golf cart, and decided on the Centris fat tire E Bikes that fold. We were amazed at the power and long lasting batters as we toured national parks like Zion and Arches, even Ouray Colorado.

WE climbed switchbacks and even used our bikes in the RV Parks to get to the pool or pickleball courts. The racks were great to carry water and our sports gear as well. I LOVE the throttle as well for climbing steep hills which we encountered often out west.

We also use these at our home RV park Mountain Falls which offers VERY big hills – we can tour around Lake Toxaway now with ease – and if we want a work out, it’s very easy to just adjust to a 1 assist – The bikes even have lights for dusk.

we LOVE them – and they fit easily when folded into the bay or our Prevost motorhome, and our SUV car. Durability also impressive – we rode some tough terrain.

I bought two of these bikes and I have had them since July. They run great and the battery lasts. They ride really smooth. The bike seat is uncomfortable but I did switch them out for a comfortable seat.

I do recommend this bike except the big problem we had was with getting the bikes assembled. The bolt that is used to attached the handle bars is not the right size and was too small. Both bikes had the same issue.

We had to get a longer bolt to get them assembled. I think for how expensive this bike is the right part should be supplied. Other then the seat and the one bolt not being the right size this is a fabulous bike to get around on.

Amazing Folding Electric Bike! The bike has plenty of power for medium hills. easy going with power assist. It certainly goes fast enough and has very smooth transitions for changing levels of assist.

Very out of tune, few imperfections, and just terrible tone quality. Been playing trumpet for 10 years. It looks nice and clean but isnt good sounding.

Just got two of these to take on road trips. I’ve had RadMinis (great), Rambo Cruisers (junk), Ecotric fat tire folding (decent for price but worth upgrading to the RadMini if you value quality). Currently also have two Aventon Sinch bikes (awesome and beautiful and kind of a toss up between the RadMini).

As for these Ebe1, they are bikes are so compact and easy to carry, fun to zip around streets on, and frankly I like the stripped down features since you don’t really need all the bells and whistles like you might think.

Does the Ebe1 compete with bikes that cost $1500+, depends. I think it shines in areas they don’t. Frankly If you are new to the ebike world I would 100% recommend the Ebe1 over anything else mentioned above (unless you are going to be riding on sand or you FOR REAL have a commute over 25+ miles and need to go faster on streets).

However this bike is plenty fast, and it’s really more about slow/moderate cruising speeds and for me simply extending the distance I can go vs regular pedal bikes. My girlfriend will throw high heels on and jump on one of these and twist throttle the entire way on a night out or whatever.

It’s super fun and they are just amazing for the value. And frankly the RadMini, Sinch, Ecotric, Lectric, they are bigger than you think, so throwing them in a car or trunk isn’t exactly ideal. Even zipping around town they are big and bulky and heavy and cumbersome.

And with the super fat tires, you’ll need a special car carrier rack, but not with the ebe1. That’s where this bike shines. You get 80% of the speed and distance for 1/2 to even 1/3rd the price, and it’s more portable and easier to dodge pedestrians without rolling up on some intimidating monster ebike.

You also don’t need gears with an ebike 99% of the time either. Majority of people with a RadMini or whatever similar bike just leave it in the high gear the entire time and will throttle/pedal up hills, unless you live in San Francisco or something.

Anyway, i highly recommend. Buy it for your first or add to your arsenal of bikes, its awesome for the price and build quality is waaaaaay above what i expected and i have had several ebikes over the past few years.

This is definitely my favorite for the value and overall fun factor and ease.

I bought the EBE1 folding bike and it has been amazing. I normally don’t write reviews but because I like this product so much here it goes. The bike shipped in the 3-5 days that was stated at time of order.

The first month it was great, then i got a flat tire. However it was an easy fix. Although it is a but tough to unscrew the hexa bolt. The folding capabilities are perfect for my job. The bike stores easily in the break room.

I constantly receive complements about this product. Then just two days ago i fell in love with this bike again. My battery died where i was not able to use throttle assistance and the workout i got was amazing, i cant believe I have not been using this bike as a spin bike.

Received without damaged (minor scratches on the seat pole, but no big deal). Easy to assemble (most can be done without tools, I only need tools to tight the pedals) everything is ready in 15-20min max.

Come pre-charge 3/4 bars. Nice horn and front light (no rear light, hope they will add that in their next version). Everything folded, except the handlebar. There is no mode for the assist, only ON or OFF (controlled by the key).

Speed can be control independently with the throttle. Also note that the bike come with 2 set of key, first is to turn on & off the bike, the second to remove the battery (they should use the same set).

Take into consideration that this bike is not street legal in most area, due to the missing front & wheels reflector. Overall is a decent bike. Considering the price, I will still give it a five stars.

I would rate highly for Upzy. com for their timely delivery and in perfect condition, without any damage whatsoever! 5 stars for UPZY. As for the “2020 Nakto Skylark 36V 16″ Lithium Folding Electric Bike” I’ve mixed response.

I’m 5’6″ and weigh 250LB, ebike is capable of taking me around 15mph (claimed speed) easily on flat surface/terrain. However, on inclines (I live in Maryland), I sometimes fall short of breadth even using the PAS.

I think for me I need a motor with at least 500W or more power. Build wise, I don’t see any issues in 2 weeks of using the ebike, like rattles, shakes, vibrations, etc. On road it is smooth and on sidewalks it has bumpy ride (again depends on the type of sidewalks you’ve around your place).

For me, I’ve been getting 10-13 miles of range per charge, including riding in the inclines.

The PeaceDove bike is beautiful, well designed, very powerful, & a dream of a bike. Having more fun riding it, than I ever thought possible. My tiny dog loves to ride in the sturdy basket. Perfect to ride by the river, stress just melts away.

Don’t hesitate to purchase this well built bike. Amazing deal, dream of a bike.

We rode our new ebikes 20 miles on the 1st day and still had power left to get up the last hill. What a blast. We are in the later stage of life and having fun on our bikes. We have not owned bikes in over 25 years.

We are hooked and riding regularly all over the place. The peacedove is made for a short person. My wife is 5’1″ and it fits her perfectly.

I’ve had my electric bike for a few weeks now and love it. It was easy to assemble when taken out of the box. It is easy to learn how to use. I love the design and how it can be folded for easy storage or transportation.

The customer service is amazing as well. :).

The technician showed me how to fold and unfold the bike. That was fun. Then he carefully walked me through the operation of such key components as the computer and the hydaulic brakes. He answered all my questions.

About what to do if I lose both keys to the Bosch battery, which COULD happen, he advised me not to lose them. Later I discovered that the manufacturer of the keys (not Bosch, not Tern) can provide a replacement AS LONG as I keep a record of the number inscribed on the each key.

Phew! I learned that from one of the manuals and double-checked it online on the key-manufacturer’s website. As for riding the bike, I am doing as told and carefully reading all 5 Bosch manuals first plus the Tern manual before my initial ride (in a parking lot).

I like the part where several manuals say that before each ride, one should drop the bike and listen for anything that rattles. Great advice, actually! The manuals are very well written, have excellent illustrations and are packed with thoughtful advice.

Like, no wheelies. Also, I found that signing up for an extended (10-year) warranty is free. (Not sure if that means I’ll be sending data to the company for a longer period. My guess is yes. ) The main thing I need to learn asap is how to take off the R pedal so I can more easily roll the bike from the R side when the bike is folded.

I suggest the technician teach that up front.

I was late in the game searching for a folding e-bike and I was so excited to see that Scooteretti was going to get some Tern Vektron Q9 in stock. I ordered one and it arrived sooner than expected. There are some great online videos explaining how the bike works- it’s pretty simple.

It has exceeded my expectations. I like that both my husband and I can share it and can easily adjust the seat height and handle bars to fit our needs. I also really like that the bike comes with so many features built in, like the lights, the back rack and fenders.

The only thing I’ve changed is the bell – I wanted one that could be heard. I’ve also added a mirror- there’s enough room on the handle bar to do this. Looking forward to getting in lots of trips. I use it for city riding and I’ve already ridden further than I usually do- I laugh at hills and headwinds!.

this is now ebike #3 from Martin and the crew, fantastic service, tolerable coffee and plenty of bike porn to look at after i’ve finished shopping for what i need. As usual Martin listened to what i wanted to use the bike for, and then recommended the most appropriate solution (which wasn’t the most expensive 🙂 ) the tern is a great bike, i use it for the end of a commute in london after parking up, it is a little bigger and heavier than say a non motorised brompton, but, and its a big but, it rides like a normal bike – no twitchiness, no wobbling, quick and direct steering, and goes like stink.

Having ridden and owned hub and crank drive bikes, there is no comparison, assistance is quick, direct and torquey. the other to mention is the adjustability and flexibility – this bike adjust in seconds (bars and seat) to be comfortable for me (6’1 and too many kg) or my wife (5’2 and not) it also happily tows my little boy on his trailer bike, carries a laptop and a projector, fits in the lift and under the desk at work, and has lights, mudguards, a clever bungee system, and a chain tucked well out of the way so i happily ride it in a suit.

Equally it’s at home as part of our campervan travelling down gravel paths, old railway lines and the like. i’d reccomend this bike for anyone looking for a high quality, reasonably priced folder or even hybrid use bike.

The price was right for the 48v 500w model. Not overly complicated to finish the assembly. This bike may take a little tweaking with the disc brake adjustment and de-railer tuning. Power seems sufficient carrying my 200 lb frame, although I have not tested on severe inclines yet.

I stripped the aluminum front axel hex hole head after a couple attempts to get the front wheel centered. I Messaged ECO-TRIC for a replacement and they are working on getting me a new one. Overall I’m pleased with my purchase.

I just took it out for my first spin ever on a bike. at 70yrs old!! Five miles! Awesome experience!! (and very sore legs and butt 🙂 The 5 speed pedal assist worked great. On 5, for me, a little too fast on the start of pedaling (yes, you need to pedal up to the 5th assist level.

not use it at the start of pedaling). The throttle had plenty of power and was extremely smooth. I changed out the seat for a more comfy padded one. I have one long, steep staircase where I live. so, the 60+ lbs was challenging, but I did it twice yesterday.

It appears to be just a different kind of workout carrying this bike up flights of stairs. The folding of the bike was super easy! And because I live in a studio apartment. very convenient. Now to get my kids one of these.

Bike had a bad controller. After contact with customer service, and some photos, a new one was shipped. Hooked it up, and the bike works fine. I haven’t been able to ride for the past almost ten years because of complications from hip surgery.

So I was a bit Leary getting on and going, but I really wanted to ride again. I used to do trail riding on a mountain bike. Long distances. I know I can’t do that anymore, but with this bike I can ride, and hopefully get myself pedaling again in time.

My first ride was cautious, just around the block. I went again, and got myself a little lost thru the development. It was so awesome and fun just being back on a bike, I didn’t want to stop.
