20 Best Foam Practice Golf Balls (2023 Updated)

I find the foam golf balls better than the whiffle and solid plastic balls. Better feel and trajectory. Great for indoor use to help keep you connected to your clubs in these long winter months.

Product came in super quickly. Best quality I’ve seen for foam golf balls. Great for chipping in the backyard when golf courses are closed due to Covid haha.

I bought these foam golf balls to practice my swing in my garage during the winter. They more than exceeded my expectations. The golf balls are lighter than a normal golf ball but have identical characteristics.

I used them with my golf swing launch monitor and was able to get readings similar to what I get with regular golf balls. The few that missed my golf net bounced off the garage door and didn’t even leave a mark! If your serious about practicing your golf swing indoors I highly recommend these balls.

They are an excellent product and well worth the money!.

Great for outdoor use in the yard or use indoors. These training golf balls are excellent quality for an affordable price. The tote bag that accompanies the golf balls is also a great add-on for practicing in the yard.

I bought these practice balls to hit in my backyard. I already own some Almost Golf practice balls and wanted the same type of practice balls without spending a small fortune on a dozen of them. I bought these GoSports foam practice balls to give them a try.

They are just slightly softer than the Almost Golf practice balls and perform just as well with flight and trajectory. The balls are firm enough that you cant squeeze them and crush them. They are pretty firm, but soft enough not to do damage to solid surfaces.

They could possibly damage soft surfaces such as styrofoam or foam board. I have Approx 100 yards of practice area in my backyard. I can hit full 8 irons with these balls, and thats about as far as they will carry.

Depending on wind conditions of course. They are hard enough to duplicate the flight and trajectory of a real golf ball, but soft enough to not do any damage if they hit anything on a wayward shot. They do not feel like a real golf ball when struck.

They have a feel all their own, but you can definitely tell the difference between a well struck golf ball and a poorly struck golf ball. They will give you that feedback once you get use to the feel of the foam practice balls.

Plus you get 24 of them at half the price. I will not be purchasing anymore Almost Golf practice balls. I will definitely be purchasing more of the GoSports practice balls.

I used to play with AlmostGolf practice balls, but these are superior. They can break a car window, though, if you hit them hard enough and hit a weak spot in the glass. I found that out the hard way.

Still wouldn’t go back.

When I purchased this product I expected the golf balls to be “foam” as their title suggests, but when I received them they were actually hard plastic. They served no purchase for practicing in my backyard.

The balls would fly too far and if accidently hit towards the house they were sure to break a window.

These balls are not quite what I expected. I have used them several times and find they are more durable than the “wiffle” type balls that I have used in the past. The wiffle balls would split in half after a few hits.

So far, these balls have held up well.

Exactly what I wanted to practice chipping in my backyard.

These practice balls are soft enough to use in the garage yet give you a very good idea of where the ball is going. Also, they are very durable.

The balls are basically the same as any other ‘foam ball’. Very light and soft, they bounce more than you would expect and go farther than you would expect for their weight. They are slightly smaller in diammeter than a regular golf ball – maybe 0.

5 to 1. 0 mm. They are safe inside and out – yes I tested them against a window :). They seem reasonably well made and I’ve not managed to cause any damage to any of them so far. The one ‘fault’ in their construction is the seam, which is a bit ‘rough and ready’, although I doubt it has any effect on use.

I’m finding these quite useful for chipping practice in a small yard space and also inside where I chip off a mat to various height ‘targets’ on a painted wall, and into a bucket across the room. Despite their bright orange colour these leave no marks whatsoever.

Worth investing in if you need/want to practice indoors or in small spaces and also for kids – a misshit doesn’t end in broken windows or dented cars although they will still knoock over a glass of wine of a vase of flowers (so be warned).

These foam golf balls are great for indoor use with a hitting net. No fear of breaking anything or putting marks in the floorboards. Great practice balls for all playing levels but I will say one thing, they are a little soft.

Someone who might be starting out may not get much feedback from the ball regarding contact. A seasoned golfer I think would be more aware of feel etc. and know the subtle feeling these golf balls give back with a pure strike.

Having said that, I think they’re still a great ball for practice for every golfer especially during the Stage 4 lockdowns if you’re from Melbourne like myself. Golf courses are closed so it’s a great little purchase to keep that swing in form.

The ball flies great when you hit it good and you’ll definitely know when you hit it bad as it behaves just like a real ball. Highly recommended.

Wanting to work on my swing at home I tried the plastic practice balls and cheaper foam ones. The plastic ones, don’t waste your money on. I like the cheap foam ones okay. These are similar in they feel kind of like the foam ones with dimples but they are more rubbery with a bit better wack to them.

Of course they don’t feel quite like a real ball but they are close and the flight pattern seems mostly accurate. They fly higher up and of course affected by wind more. These balls do go pretty far.

I have a lot of yard space so it works for me. In more typically yard they be good for chipping etc. or into a net without worry of damaging things in a errand shot. The colors are also easy to spot on grass.

Worth the price to me for a better feeling practice ball that shows my ball flight.

These limited flight balls were exactly what I was looking for. Reasonable feel off the club head all things considered and good flight characteristics. Able to practice fades and draws with different trajectories in my neighborhood baseball field without worrying about breaking a window or hitting a parked car.

Havent used them enough to gauge durability.

These are the ultimate limited flight practice ball. Forget those wiffle type balls, foam, or plastic balls of any kind. The feel of these is great, the best that you are going to get with a practice ball.

True flight, unlike other practice balls. Durable, very much so. I hit these from my front yard into the back yard, and then back again. Though they may loose some shine, or color from sitting out in the elements year round, the never loose their feel or flight characteristics.

Nice solid feel to them, but will not cause any damage from mis-hits. I’ve hit my house on occasion (I’m a terrible hacker), I’ve hit the window, I’ve even hit my wife once, and there was not any damage done.

Except my wife was really mad at me for a while. The only qualm that I have is that they are a little smaller than an actual golf ball. I don’t now if the idea is if you can hit a smaller ball, a standard size ball will be that much easier? Don’t know.

But it isn’t a big deal. They will last you for years, if you don’t hit them into a pine tree (they will never come down), or run them over with the lawnmower (they will get sliced up).

These are excellent golf practice balls. They have a solid feel when struck and, more importantly, they react to the strike the way a normal golf ball would. You can slice and hook these balls just as you might with a real ball, which gives you the feed back that you’re after.

As advertised, they only fly about half the distance of a normal ball, A good all around value.

I’ve always been a guy that has the philosophy if you can build a better mousetrap, do it. I’m a monitor at a Tortuga Golf Course which all holes are par 3 and the longest hole is at best 100 yards. After playing the course and using only a pitching wedge and putter I analyzed how I could turn the par 3’s into 4’s & 5’s.

Using your birdie balls, I’m having a blast redesigning my game on that course. I’ve come up with my own design as far as teeing up the birdie balls for using my drivers. I’m kinda an old *art and not real good with the newfangled technology that’s available, hence no photos or videos.

I was very surprised at how well the birdie ball simulates actual ball flight. I have plenty of room on my property to hit them and after a week of hitting I went to the driving range and experienced better ball contact immediately.

I broke one with a 5 iron but the ball had sustained plenty of hits prior to splitting. If you have faults in your swing you’ll see it in the ball flight. Couldn’t be more pleased – ordering my next dozen today.

Good ball. But $2 more than same ball white color. It’s weird.

These are excellent practice balls for beginner and intermediate level golfers. Balls do break with continuous hard hitting. Best to use to practice chipping and popping the ball up with the pitching wedge.

Not only are they excellent to perfect your golf swing, but they are great inexpensive cat toys as well!

Cons: 1) Smaller diameter than regular golf ball 2) So light that when hit they are greatly influenced by wind direction. In my case, when hit with a high loft wedge, once up in the air, the ball went further behind me than forward toward the target.

When hit with a five hybrid, I was finally able to get one to go across a standard two lane street. These things are so light that I simply could not use them. I ended up buying the more expensive and heavier maxfili foam balls.

Bought these practice balls for our son for Christmas. These balls are softer than we expected, but the bright yellow color made them easy to keep track of when hitting them in the yard.

I bought these as a gift for my seven year old grandson as a Christmas gift. We both hit these balls outside and they were excellent. Upon impact you could feel the contact and they flew true. Bad contact resulted in an errant shot.

Good contact resulted in a true flight. The balls few about 40 yards.

Great practice ball with great flight paths, spin, and movement. Perfect if you don’t want to worry about hitting anything if you’re in close quarters situations, like hazards or practice around trees.

Due to covid pandemic, I am using these foam balls outside on my property to keep my swing in shape. They are good to practice with, and they will not damage nearby property

Just as expected and great for use around the yard. Durable and lightweight. Holds up well after lots of use.

If you are just chipping these are probably ok. But hitting these with a full golf swing was useless. They would barely fly and if there was any wind they would literally blow in the wind. I have had better luck with wiffle balls.

I just did not see any value in these golf balls and threw them out.

I purchased these balls to practice in my yard. They are worthless. You can’t feel the club hitting them. They don’t fly more than ten feet. The don’t spin enough to le you know how good or bad you made contact.

You might as well hit dandilions, worthless.

By reading the description I was led to believe these were real close to a real golf ball. They are glorified foam instead. For the money, they are not worth it. I requested a return and have an RMA, but may not send back due to the cost of shipping.

May just keep or giveaway, but would rather get my money back. Very disappointed!.

An excellent price compared to others that I considered. These are the ONLY practice golf balls I would use. They realistically duplicate the actual flight of real golf balls, while going only one third the distance.

One can actually impart draw and fade spin on the ball and get reasonable results.

Been using these for years ’cause I don’t have enough space to safely use the real thing at my home. They sound and feel and react like a real ball but only fly about 30% of the distance. I only use them with Short Irons.

I really enjoy them.

I purchased the foam, solid plastic, and perforated plastic balls to see which is most realistic. The foam balls have the greatest distance (5 iron approximately 40 yards) and will hook or slice depending on how you hit them.

I have been working on eliminating my slice, so these are perfect. The plastic balls hit clean, much shorter, but I found they always went straight which unfortunately for me is not a true ball flight.

These practice balls are great. You can hit a sand wedge 50 yards and you are able to turn the ball both directions, fade or draw. Fantastic for back yard play and eliminate the risk of breaking windows or denting cars.

i did not use this item to practice my golf swing, I used it to help with my foot pain from Plantar Fasciitis. My Physical Therapist recommended rolling a soft foam golf ball over the bottom of my feet, and actually advised me to get these at Walmart.

Finally the solution to no more fears or worries of accidents from my husband practicing golf in our yard. When my husband is not on the golf course he is in our yard hitting balls and even got our grandkids out there doing their best to be as good as him 🙂 I am on pins and needles that accidents don’t happen but not any more.

My husband said these Athletic Works foam golf balls actually hit the same, go the distance, and even have the same flight pattern as the real golf balls. I got these practice balls to use in the yard and in a field nearby. They are very nicely made. I like the fact that they are not too firm and not too soft. They are bright colors so you can easily locate them, as well.

People are always leaving their golf balls around in the field because they can’t find them. I don’t think that will be an issue with these because of their coloring. There is over 40 of these guys in a sturdy, wire bucket.

This bucket of golf balls would make a great gift for any golf lover.

Good quality and a fair price, however – Much lighter than expected. No different than hitting an air ball.

Great item for home practice

I have 3 types of practise balls and these are the only ones i can use my long ironswoods driver with. These balls are fantastic for working on your swing – i have a tendency to slice my drives and using these balls to ensure my club path is moving from in to out to avoid the slice Ive spent hours hitting these – the only downside is if you do.

The balls really do simulate golf balls without the danger of breaking your windows. You really can practice your swing.

Great for in the garden but not when its windy. Really good to have when you cant get to the range. If you dont have much room you can hit them against the wall. Very useful.

These golf balls are perfect for pregame baseball hitting! They don’t put dents into the fence and you have to swing with gusto to get them to fly! Because they come in different colors, we bought the team colors so we know which of the plastic balls are ours! You can get through a line-up quickly hitting 24 balls for each batter.

Easy to see, easy to hit!.

Adequate. They do not have the Callaway symbol which was a big disappointment for my kid who really cares about things like that. Could have gotten plain wiffle balls for a better price at another store but opted to pay more for Callaway since I knew he would care and didn’t appreciate that the product was misrepresented.

This a gift for my grandson and will receive it in next couple of weeks. This is an upgrade from some plastic clubs he used when visiting. They are falling apart now and he will love these Izzo plastic perforated golf balls and the new wood set of clubs I also ordered.

Was excited to get some better foam practice balls than my wiffle balls for backyard hitting. Chose magenta color as it was close to pink that would excite my little 7 year old. I like to hit wiffle balls with a partial wedge to a bucket about 35 feet away.

Unfortunately, these balls sail a lot further with a quarter swing wedge and basically is too far for my back yard of 60′. Although they have good flight, they just travel way too far. I was actually disappointed, as I thought these would be a little closer in distance to previous foam balls as I had before.

I pretty much can’t use them in my backyard which was the intent of the order.

I decided to buy a package of the Maxfli foam practice balls at my local Dick’s store when my usual brand (Callaway) was out of stock. Compared to the Callaway foam ball, which is the best I’ve found at Dick’s, the Maxfli foam ball is too firm, doesn’t feel authentic at impact, and doesn’t fly on a trajectory similar to a real ball.

After decades of using the white hard plastic practice balls, I decide to give these a try. They do not have the audible click of the hard plastic balls and that threw me for a short time. I can’t speak to the durability of these yet but so far, after several practice rounds with irons, hybrids, and fairway woods, they show no signs of breaking down.

The flight is indicative of how I strike the ball.
