This mousse is amazing for my daughter’s 3B curls. It doesn’t weigh her hair down like gels tend to, clumps and defines her ringlets beautifully and it smells like a tropical vacation. To get the most out of this product, I wash, condition and detangle her hair well.

Then while her hair is sopping wet, I have her flip her head down and layer as follows: I Work As I Am leave in conditioner through her hair, generous amounts of OGX mousse and finish with OGX Coconut Curl Cream.

Scrunch hair to encourage curl and then blot (do not rub) hair dry with a microfiber towel or old t-shirt. Let hair air dry and do not touch it! This will keep frizz at a minimum. She has shiny, defined curls with no crunch or flakes.

I’ve tried so many different gels, mousses, creams, oils, to enhance my poor little damaged waves and I always come back to this. My hair started getting wavier in my teens but I just didn’t take care of my hair very much so my little waves were not flourishing as they could’ve.

This product definitely helped enhance them while nourishing them to lock in my conditioner. My hair is slowly graduating from very damaged 2a to relatively damaged 2b hair! I love this product. It locks in your conditioner and adds that moisture you need while sealing up your waves.

I like to put a little conditioner on my hair while it’s still really wet from the shower, then comb through my hair with a brush (if I use my fingers like I’m supposed to then the top of my hair at the roots gets really wonky so I have to use a wider wet brush to get some of it normal) then I put this stuff in and I scrunch it up and put it in my little hair towel and I’m done! It works it’s magic, I take off the towel and go to bed!.

After trying out the curly girl method, I had been experimenting with mousse, gels, and leave-ins for my hair, trying to find what will enhance the wave but not weigh my hair down (I have a 2b curl pattern btw).

Anyways, this mousse doesn’t dry out my very processed hair and it gives a nice hold so my curls last through the day. It doesn’t weigh my hair down or leave a crunch -unless I put way too much in. For the price and as far as drugstore products go, I really enjoy it.

I love trying out new curly hair products and sometimes it takes some trial and error to get the right amount or application technique, but I was so happy with the results with this curl defining cream from the first use.

This is definitely one of the best curl defining cream products I have ever used and I have consistently had good results with it. For reference I have fine textured 2C/3A curl pattern hair and I like products that enhance the definition without weighing down my hair too much sacrificing volume, which I feel this product did well.

I applied it (as I typically do with cream products) on soaking wet hair under gel and diffused it dry. A little goes a long way on my hair type and I used a pea sized amount on two sections with good results.

This product has a pleasant scent that isn’t overpowering. I appreciate that this product is formulated without sulfates, parabens, formaldehydes, formaldehyde-releasing agents, phthalates, mineral oil, etc.

as many of these ingredients are ones that I try to avoid for my curls. I also appreciate that this product comes in recyclable packaging. The price point of this product is higher than I usually pay for similar products but because a little goes a long way and my results were good, I would consider spending this amount on it.

I received this as a sample to try out, and let me say, as a natural curly haired girl I am always looking for a new holy grail curl product. I have tried some of the other Moroccanoil products in the past but this is my personal favorite I’ve tried so far.

My first time testing this product, I applied it by itself after my usual wash and go. After letting my hair air dry, I noticed my curls had great definition and I was immediately excited. I went about my usual schedule and was pleased to see my curls still stayed together throughout the course of my day.

It also made my hair superrr soft which is always a nice addition. Although this product is great for defining your curls, I had to give it 4 stars as I found it was lacking in the hold department and it did not do much to combat additional frizz.

I love when leave-in products put a slight cast over your curls, as I find that helps tremendously for day 2 and day 3 curls. If you prefer a little more hold like me, I would strongly recommend following this up with a styling gel-type of product.

I have gotten so many compliments on days I work this product into my routine. While this curl defining cream is not quite a holy grail leave-in that will replace all of your other products, it is a wonderful addition to your curly hair routine.

I kind of hate how much I ended up liking this product. I’ve been devoutly curly girl method for a few years now, and I actually can’t remember the last time I used heat on my hair. I’m pretty proud of myself, actually.

Even stopped dying my hair! So, in the interest of living that low bar lifestyle, I also don’t want or need to wash my hair often, and my styling routine is kept to a minimum. Nothing complicated, no plopping, no clipping roots.

Just a good gel and a good scrunch and a microfiber towel. Bam, done. So, enter this Moroccan Oil Curl Defining Cream. After I washed and conditioned, then upside-down detangled with a wide-toothed comb and denman brush, I first scrunched in a generous amount of cream.

I honestly probably used too much—I think a smaller amount goes kind of a long way. Which is good, because the price tag isn’t exactly low. After a good scrunching, I sealed it in with Deva Curl gel.

A lot of reviewers used the cream on its own, and I considered doing that, but I figured I would have the best results using both. And I believe I was correct. After scrunching out the excess water and product with my microfiber waffle towel, I could already tell that my hair was looking nicer than usual.

My curls clumped juuust a little bit nicer, the waves just slightly more defined, less frizzy, and somehow more body, even though I air dried. It was a noticeably better-than-usual hair day. And I kinda hate it for a few reasons: (1) it’s not cheap; (2) I’m not jumping at adding an additional step to my low bar routine; (3) I don’t think this is actually a CGM-approved product; and (4) my sample sent for testing was just that—a sample—and I would have loved to have received a full size because I liked it so much! 😭😭💸.

I first discovered Oribe years ago through Birchbox and have been a super fan ever since. The Curl Shaping Mousse smells, like all Oribe products, divine and the benefits don’t stop there. My curls are bouncy, healthy and shiny looking and best of all, feel hydrated and so full.

You really only need about a half-dollar dized dollop (depending on the length of your hair. Mine is long – to the middle of my back) so the bottle lasts a decent amount of time. Oribe has never disappointed me and I have never used an Oribe product that I didn’t love and this mousse is no exception.

Yes it’s expensive, BUT it’s also the best curling mousse I’ve ever tried. The VOLUME and hold alone make it a must-have for me, but on top of that it’s great to have it in your hair from the day before when you’re refreshing your day-two curls.

Of course I use it with a curl cream and light defining gel as well, but when my hair is longer I’m excited to try it just by itself and see what kind of mane I get. Will always have a bottle of this on hand, hope it’s in production forever!!!.

These are two no-no ingredients for my curly hair. Proteins kill my curls and leave my hair dry, frizzy and impossible to detangle. Silicone is simply a bad ingredient for most curly hair. It coats the hair shaft preventing moisture from penetrating, leaving hair dry and unmanageable.

It’s curl 101. The fact that they charge that price for gunk that leads to unhealthy hair is laughable. Hard pass.

With 3b curls that are dry, coarse, long, tangly and graying. I’ve been struggling lately. I want so badly to keep my hair long and grow it longer than I’ve ever had the patience to. I purchased this Ouidad VitalCurl mousse today (last one on the shelf!), because I was desperately trying to just get my hair to look good.

I got home with my new product and hit the shower right away. After washing/conditioning I put a bit of my previously purchased Ouidad VitalCurl Tress Effects Gel in my palm and added a a nice dollop of this mousse on top and mixed it together until no foam remained and I was left with a wonderfully slippery gel-consistency.

I repeated the process once more to make sure I coated everything. I used an Olivia Garden brush to distribute the product and let it dry naturally. It didn’t take as long to fully dry as when I use my gel with other hair creams and my hair had a cast that was so perfect it still looked wet when it was fully dry.

I was so happy with the results that I feel like I can let this unruly mom keep on growing. At least my ponytail would look good and not a frizzy mess like it usually does. This is THE one product from Ouidad that I feel I can’t do without.

Granted, I haven’t used it by itself but when a curly girl finds her perfect recipe, it’s a challenge to stray from it for fear of ruining the outcome. As a side note, I have used the gel mentioned above by itself and I loved the curl formation, however, it’s a very foamy gel once I start applying it and it makes a squooshing noise and turns white.

I ordered this on a promotion, and went in with mid level expectations. I typically use the Climate Control gel because I live in Florida and ya girl needs humidity protection, so I figured this mousse would give me a light hold that would last maybe a day.

Well it’s well into day 2 and my curls still look amazing! I used this mousse yesterday in addition to a leave in conditioner and that’s it. I am so surprised by the hold level of this mousse, it’s quite soft but I have great definition and spring.

I did have to use quite a bit of the product to coat my hair but I think that’s a price I’m willing to pay. Also, it smells wonderful in my opinion.

I used the bowl method with this product and WOW! I can’t believe how my hair went from obviously damaged sad loose and frizzy curls to bouncy curls I haven’t seen in 10 years. It is pricey but I have yet to find such a light mousse like this one.

I have tried soooo many curl mousses and this is by far my favorite. I have 2c/3a curls so I needed a lightweight product that wouldn’t weigh down my hair. After washing my hair I use a leave-in conditioner, heat spray, and this mousse for definition.

I scrunch the product in and dilute with a spray bottle of water and then rescrunch it. Then I use a diffuser and end up with absolutely gorgeous loose curls. Don’t forget to scrunch the crunch! Though truth be told, this product is less crunchy than others which is nice.

I do wish they had a gel to go with this mousse to help hold the curl longer. On days 2/3/4 I usually spray more water on my hair and rescrunch the curls to define them again. Even without the extra hold I still live this product because it’s the only one that has worked to give my curls definition and volume without weighing them down or making them greasy.

I received this product free for my honest review. I have been using this for about a week now and have noticed that my hair has more volume, bounce, and softness. However there isn’t the curl definition I was hoping for with a mousse titled curl and wave defining.

Let me start by saying, if you have fine/thin hair, or if your hair is otherwise easily weighed down, this product is not for you. That being said, when used on the appropriate hair types (coarser/thicker types with a natural curl pattern), this product is amazing! I use Moroccanoil first on my hair, then apply a small amount of my Redken curl cream, and end with whatever mousse or gel I’m using.

With this product, I can skip the curl cream and still have well-defined, non-frizzy curls! I have to stress you only need a SMALL AMOUNT of this product; do NOT put your regular-sized glob of mousse in your hand! Scrunching like normal after applying is important too, even though you don’t end up with the same crunch as other products.

I always recommend allowing your hair to dry fully before touching it. This product saturates your hair really well and thus takes a while to dry. I always use a light hydrating mist leave in or very light creamy textured one.

I then apply this styling mousse and a hair oil. I allow to air dry and then I toss and fluff my curls. If you want a slight bit more hold I would suggest another product OR make your own simple flaxseed gel and mix both the mousse and gel.

This will give you defined, juicy curls. Pls keep in mind that flaxseed gel goes bad quickly so you have to keep in the fridge and use often. It’s super easy to make and worth the fridge cold gel feeling.

I LOVE this mousse. My curls are incredibly difficult to define. My hair is thick and coarse in the back, but curlier and less coarse in the front. It’s impossible to find something that can smooth out the back, while not being too heavy and crunchy for the front.

Unless You Have An Allergy To It (Which Is Common), There’s No Reason To Fear This Ingredient, As It Is Safe In Such Small Quantities. There Is No Actual Evidence That It Causes Hair Loss, And It’s Actually Used In Many Cosmetics.

This product holds curl but contains both paragons and sulphate. I wanted something free from these ingredients and purchased on Amazon. I had been using LUS brand but it’s expensive. I noted no ingredients listed on Amazon which should have been my first clue.

But, on various websites and Instagram, this is listed as “curly girl approved”. It DRIES my hair and so I came here, to look at the ingredients. It’s going to the garbage now that I know why my hair is so dried out after use.

Please be more open about your products and their ingredients on other websites. I wasted money and would have made proper selections had I known. I think this is your idea in order to push and sell your products.

I have type 3a hair and this is one of the few hair products I’ve repurchased repeatedly. I transitioned to my naturally curly hair over a year ago, and after trying lots of gels and heavier hair products, I decided to switch to a mousse.

How I use it: After washing and conditioning my hair, and applying a lightweight leave-in conditioner or cream, I use this mousse. It gives great definition and is lightweight enough so my hair doesn’t look like a puffy blob! I refresh by spraying my hair with water and scrunching in the mousse where needed.

As another reviewer noted, I only apply this product when my hair is wet.

I love this foam! My absolute favorite foam, and I have tried loads of them in the 3 years since I started wearing my natural texture. It is not very moisturizing so I use a curl cream or leave-in under it.

It does not weigh down my fine waves/curls at all (as long as I don’t use too much of it)! It lets my hair dry super fast when I use it without a gel so it is my go-to when I want great a looking wash-day in a hurry.

Y’all talked me right into it! I have used OGX Curling Perfection for several years and was quite satisfied but after reading a week’s worth of reviews for Morrocanoil Curl Defining Cream, I decided to give it a shot and made a purchase from Sephora.

My hair is fine, dry and naturally curly and I do mean CURLY. I blow dry to ease the curls a bit as drying naturally leaves me with very tight coils. I received the Morrocanoil yesterday and used it, following the same wash condition regimen as always, and using the same amount of Morrocanoil as I would of OGX.

First thing I noticed was how much longer my hair looks! The Morrocanoil results in looser, less sproingy curls than I get with the OGX and that’s a win for me! The cost for Morrocanoil is much greater, though in hindsight, I could have used less product – not enough less to even out the cost per ounce, but less.

The Morrocanoil did leave a film behind, somewhere between greasy tacky, but not intolerable; I would liken it to the same feeling I get from sea salt spray. All said done, I do love the look I get from the Morrocanoil but I’ll probably save it for going out and stick with the OGX for daily/work wear, simply due to the cost.

I received the product free for testing purposes from Influenster and Moroccanoil. I never use anything other than mousse in my hair. Never have I tried anything like this for styling because it’s really hard to find a good protect that tames the curls and reduces frizz.

I seriously didn’t have high hopes. My mind was blown when I let my hair air dry after application. My hair looked so hydrated and the most important thing is that it was bouncy, touchable, not frizzy and felt so natural without the stiffness.

Guys. Not every curly haired girl follows the curly girl method. I did curly girl for years and went back to silicones and it’s made no difference to my hair. Also, my hair is high porosity and loves protein.

Stop giving this product bad reviews because of that. If you see it has stuff in it you don’t want just leave it alone and don’t buy it. For me, I love this mousse. I use it to set my curls and also as a refresher after a few days.

I have fine, loosely curly, shoulder-length hair that I’ve been flat ironing almost daily for 20 years. Working from home inspired me to take a break from heat styling and explore “air dry” products that work with my natural texture.

I tried a LOT of products: sprays, creams, foams, mousse, conditioners – really anything I could find with decent reviews. And Ouai is the winner! This stuff is seriously AMAZING. I apply 2. 5 pumps to soaking wet hair and finger-comb through, squish/scrunch and add a couple of clips to encourage a bit of lift at the scalp, then gently scrunch again when dry.

Every time, it leaves me with soft, bouncy curls that aren’t droopy by the end of the day, absolutely zero “crunchy” pieces, and NO FRIZZ. And even though it’s scented, I’m not left with a heavy fragrance in my hair during the day.

A while back I used points or a reward (can’t remember which) for the OUAI leave-in/hair oil samples. Finally used them this weekend (on dirty hair mind you) and the results were so amazing I decided to go ahead and buy FULL VERSIONS of the AIR DRY FOAM and CURL JELLY (which for some reason is not showing up on Sephora anymore).

Got both the Air Dry Foam and the Curl Jelly yesterday. Decided to try the airfoam this morning. I followed all the instructions and although initially it made my real hair look nice and curly ( I used to relax my hair and I’m going natural) an hour or so later my hair looked very dry, dull and frizzy.

Decided to give the Curl Jelly a try and nothing. My hair feels terrible (which had not happened while using Living Proof or DevaCurl so far). I am very dissapointed but on myself. I should’ve bought the minis, but thought “if the leave in and oil are so good, imagine how awesome my curls will look with the dry foam and the jelly.

At any rate the Jelly also came with about 20% of the product gone.

I like this air dry foam a lot. It smells very nice, and leaves my hair very soft with hardly any frizz after air drying (which normally never happens). It does help bring out my natural curls and waves when I scrunch it through, and there’s not even a hint of crunch once dry.

I will say I still have to do some touch up curling once dry, but that’s just my personal preference because my hair pattern is a little weird. If you have great curls or waves and are looking for a foam to enhance them without crunch, you’re going to love this.

The curls/waves did last all day which is impressive for my hair, and it felt VERY soft even the next day. Normally curl scrunching products end up leaving me feeling a bit sticky the next day but I honestly couldn’t even tell there was anything in my hair.

I’d say if you naturally have stick straight hair you’re probably not going to get the curly results you’re looking for with this, but if you’ve got some curl or wave to your hair naturally this is a great product.

I have mixed feelings about this product, but mostly love. First , I must say that you have to use it according to instructions or it will not work at all like it is supposed to. Your hair should be damp, not wet.

I absolutely love the fact that it clumps and defines my curls, and the hold lasts all day! It works alone to define and moisturize. When I used leave in, it clumped up with this product. Don’t do that! Lol.

The only cons I have is that if you use this daily, it will build up on your hair and in your scalp if your hair is short. I find myself having to wash every 3 days or my hair is gross and no good. If I could find a way to refresh my hair on day 2 and 3 without using more product, it would be great.

Also, this mousse gives a really hard hold for me. Your curls will look amazing, but will not be soft. There are videos posted on The Doux IG page for product use instructions which is great! My curls are type 3B/C, although this mousse works on all curl types.

Oh. my. gosh!! I have never had a product work like this before! I have fine 3b/3c hair that has issues with volume at the root. I get my hair cut and colored by a curly hair specialist. Using this one product has me looking like I just left her salon.

She typically has me lay down so my hair hangs and diffuses it and then breaks my curls up my hand before sending me on my way. I’m too lazy to do all that on my own so I look for a product to get me as close as possible.

This does that! After I detangle I pump a couple pumps in my hands and then work through my hair that is sectioned in 2. I let my hair air dry. My hair has perfect curls that are firm (not crunchy) and healthy.

There’s volume at the root after I shake it out when fully dry. I decided to use this product on a 92 degree humid day in Pittsburgh. I had the windows down in my car and was sweating up a storm and my hair looks marvelous.

I love the scent, it smells like fresh peaches to me. Not the artificial peach scent but like you just baked a peach cobbler. I cannot say enough good things about this product. It’s absolutely a holy grail.

The only downside for me is the pump. I find that product leaks down the bottle unless I tip the bottle directly into my hand which is annoying because I have to hold the bottle and get it slimy with leftover product.

I could just have gotten a bad bottle, but it will not defer me from purchasing this as long as The Doux makes it!.

I have thick heavy waves/curls. The product worked well when I used it with a leave in conditioner. The day I was in a rush and didn’t put a leave in my hair was course and felt dehydrated. It doesn’t help to clump your curls on it’s own, but was easy to style and mold my curls with my brush.

Dried quickly and smelled good. I didn’t get a chance to use it for a long period of time to see the overall quality. The bottle untwisted just enough while under my sink and spilled. Luckily I had it in a container.

The bottle easily untwist. You should keep the product right side up and make sure it doesn’t knock over. Unfortunately it’s the bottle quality that keeps me from buying this again. I did hope to see how the long term use would go for my hair.

This mousse saved my summer hair! I have struggled for years and spent a ridiculous amount of money on products to help control frizz in the summer. So far, this is the only product that has worked— and it has worked amazingly well! Tips: 1.

Use on damp, not wet, hair. Get as much water out of your hair as possible before applying the mousse. 2. Don’t use with oil. 3. Apply a small amount of leave in before using the mousse, about a dime to nickel size per quarter section depending on how coarse and dense your hair is.

(not necessary but helps to add moisture) 4. Saturate your hair in the mouse then rake your fingers through the curls for better curl definition.

I have long type 4 high porosity coils and originally I used this product with the Camille Rose curl maker on top, and a different shampoo, and I got good pretty good day one results, but the moment my hair came around humidity it became sticky and all the definition disappeared.

I love my botanical gels but they just don’t seem to work great for me anymore, so I tried the three step method with the curls blueberry wash, camille conditioning custard, and just this mousse to style and I am wowed.

My hair withstands humidity, if I don’t manipulate it like crazy the day one definition lasts, it didn’t take forever to dry and it was super easy to style. I just divide my damp hair (excess water squeezed out!) into 6 portions and apply liberally until most of my hair is defined and white, then I let it air dry.

Also 0 flaking or stickiness!! Dried with a medium hold, my coils were soft but no crunch. Wish I could include photos. One section of my hair was a little dull and frizzy but that might be my own error.

Key to this working for me was basically a good shampoo and no other leave-in/styling product, and then a lotttt of mousse, like 7-10 pumps per section and then some.

This was the first hair product I used that made my 4C low porosity hair have visibly defined coils. I love that this has so much water. It allows my hair to clump like it would in the shower, which in turn leaves a more defined curl.

I pair this mouse with some variation of the LOC method. It works so well. I suggest making sure the hair is sprayed down before applying this mouse for best results. I’ve recently gone blonde, so my hair is more 4B high porosity and this mouse works just as well 🙂 100% recommend for type 4 hair.
