Best Fm Channel For Bluetooth (2024 Updated)

I have the analog outputs to a pair of Kenwood L-05M mono block power amplifiers (through a switch box I built myself to allow switching between the bluMe and other sources) and a pair of B&W Model 802 speakers.

At apartment volumes it sounds fantastic. I detected no problems with Bluetooth connectivity so far. I also I connected the fiber optic output to my Benchmark DAC-1, which allows me to compare the DAC of the bluMe to a high-end professional converter.

The differences between the two seem negligible, which is incredible considering the cost of the bluMe and the Benchmark (over $1,000. 00). My only complaint is that the gain on the optical output of the bluMe seems considerably lower than the optical output of my Samsung 7 Series (43″) Smart TV.

This means that with the volume turned up to 100% on video or audio files on my laptop, I have to crank up the volume control on my Benchmark DAC 25-30% higher to get the same volume as for the same files coming from my Samsung TV via its own optical output going into the same Benchmark DAC.

I designed my system for minimum circuitry between source and speakers, so the only thing controlling the volume on the bluMe analog outputs is the volume control of the media player app itself. At anywhere between 50%-70% volume setting on my Windows Media Player (depending on the recording level of the file), I get a satisfying volume out of my speakers, similar to what I get from my CDs and LPs.

This tells me that the gain on the analog output of the bluMe is more in line with industry standards than the optical output seems to be. I wonder if there is an internal gain adjustment on the optical output.

If you live in an Urban area with lots of FM stations you will need this. If you have an older car you will need adapter cables. If you are not handy you should have a professional install it for you.

Figure about 75 bucks. Once it’s in it works great. This enables the tuner to pump the signal directly into your FM radio without the interference of local stations. Makes the tuner sound much better.

It’s not cheap but worth the price when finished. Sirius could have just made the FM transmitter stronger but they didn’t.

This Direct adapter worked very well for my situation. I would rather keep my factory stereo and connect this adapter instead of spending more money and time with a new head unit. This adapter works just as it is advertised with the satellite radio you are using.

Clear sounds with it.

If you are tired of the station fading out because you are using FM modulation to listen to your XMSIRIUS radio, this will solve the problem. You must be able to access the back of your vehicle radio to disconnect the antenna and plug this item in, but once that`s done, reception of your satellite radio will sound clear as if it`s wired direct.

It`s because this item detects when you turn on your XM radio and cuts off the FM signal. Note: Be sure you get the adapters because some vehicle antennas are different sizes. Be aware also that you will need to bring a line out from this item and plug it in your xm unit.

I loved this radio. Excellent sensitivity and selectivity. Excellent audio quality. I liked the ergonomics and the feature set too. I had 2 of them and they both failed in the same manner, the display develops problems after 5 or 10 years.

The display is not connected to the main board by a soldered connection. There is a rubber piece that has carbon channels in it. This is wedged between the display and the main board. That connection eventually goes south.

I got a few extra years out of it by a cleaning that connection with de-oxit. But that only gets you a little more time out of the radio. Excellent radio just dont expect it to last a very long time.

I suppose at the current price it’s worth the cost to just trash the old one and get another one, which I may do as i really liked the radio when it works.

I find the CCradio 3 to be a pretty amazing radio. Love the MW RX performance. From my home I can easily get stations in Chicago that are 255 miles away at noon. Having NOAA WX radio built in with alert is a sweet feature and this will come in handy as my wife and I go car camping a lot in the warmer months.

There are very few portable radios that have a NOAA alert feature which this radio has. The radio uses four D cell batteries which is unusual to find and will give it a long run time. The FM performance is great and pretty close to my Sangean HDR-16.

There are a number of areas that I will take the radio to this year that don’t have a lot of interference and I look forward to using the radio. I use the radio almost every night and fall asleep to old country music on WSM and use the sleep timer to have it shut off after 30 minutes so as to not run down the batteries.

But there area few things that I find lacking. First is that there are only five memories per band. It is 2021 and I find this lack of memories surprising. The next thing is that it does not have RBDS (Radio Broadcast Data System) which shows the station name and other data like song titles or program name.

This is a common feature in many portable radios and makes listening to FM a lot more enjoyable. Most Sangean radios have this feature. Last of all it needs a built in fold out carrying handle. The indent in the back that you put your fingers in to carry the radio is an accident waiting to happen.

Dropping this radio would be a disaster. I knew that the radio did not have these features when I ordered it BTW but still find it surprising that Crane does not have these features in their flagship radio.

But I would still recommend the radio to anyone who wants to have what is likely the best portable radio available.

While the FM, WB, 2meter band tuners work fairly well, the AM BCB does not perform as well as I expected since that was the primary reason for buying this radio. I found the audio output strained when listening in larger rooms where you are more than a foot or two away.

My GE P780 has unquestionably superior sound. The audio power rating on this radio seems rather optimistic. The weak signal reception has a lot of background hiss/noise until the signal is rather strong.

The AGC continually pumps on weaker signals making DX listening fatiguing. Compared to my two Sony ICF-S5W’s it is not as clear or listenable with weaker stations though it does match to the Sony’s selectivity.

The built in carry indent has a rubber grip strip which promptly came off making the radio impossible to pickup with one hand without it slipping off. While CCrane offered to repair it, returning a 2 week old radio at my expense renders the warranty useless for a minor(?) defect.

(the grip handle, while a clever idea fails in practice. ) Over all it’s the only choice in today’s market for a decent portable AM/FM radio. However I think at the current selling price the overall performance is disappointing.

Apart from standard features, that most radios has, i would like to point out the unusual-ones. I mostly use the SD card and random shuffle to play music. Not many portable radios has this two features together.

Without it I would not buy it. The display is full of useful information. I can access the sd card via USB connection. I just tried to plug it into my PC and it worked nicely. That was pleasant suprise.

Even the “play/pause”, “next” and “previous” buttons can be used to control your computers mediaplayer, or any phone via bluetooth. When pluged in your PC via usb it works like a regular speaker for it too.

The speaker and my old Nokia uses the same type of battery. That is usefull. It is replaceable. (And yes, I still use my 2006 made old nokia as my primary phone. ) In all, it is a very good fit for me, so I made a wooden case for it.

So hopefully it will last longer.

I bought this as sort of a Jack of all trades solution to having audio to listen to while working on various projects around the property and up at the summer place, and as a replacement for my MP3 players since the ones I like are no longer in production.

This was my answer to listening to my Audible, YouTube content (I have a small FM transmitter hooked up to a dedicated ( i. e. no longer portable) Lapdrop ‘puter in the kitchen) and National Boring Radio while either walking around, or in situations not conducive to the health of my Amazon Fires I’m on #5 of those Left #1 in a rental van and broke and splashed #3 and I misplace things a lot, So shoot me! I started out blonde, and now I’m old and blond! Nobody’s ever gonna’ tell when I get Alzheimers! Bought my last car with a broken radio and used this as my substitute.

with Aux, and the charging Cords as antennas , the reception is little short of incredible. The battery lasts nearly all day on FM, and recharges a lot quicker than I do any more. Maybe with Covid (I’m still working because I’m Essential! Now that’s a scary thought!) I’ll spend some time figuring out the radio and loading all my old fart content on to a SD thumbnail chip and see how that goes.

Good sound and function. Increased by use of portable speakers. Take on cruise trips to listen to radio stations in other countries. Unit small and portable and easy to pack using handy provided storage box.

Find manual station find search difficult to get to at times. Overcome by using button number entry. To do with auto search feature. Internal rechargeable battery nice feature, good capacity, using common 5 Volt charger.

Back in 2000 we wanted a table radio for our dining nook, and another for our father’s shop. We bought a Boston Acoustics for our home and a Tivoli Audio for our father. We were ecstatic about our Boston Acoustics sound quality and digital tuning, but we also really admired the Tivoli’s sound and beautiful design.

Over the years we thoroughly enjoyed the sound and service of our radio, while our father used his to listen to “talk radio,” which I thought didn’t allow the Tivoli to “do its thing!” Well after 20 years our Boston Acoustics began to sound terrible (I think a number of the capacitors went bad with age), so we decided to replace it.

Table radios seemed to have fallen out of favor, so the choices were quite limited. I thought it would be great if we could stumble upon one of those finds where some store had lost track of an original Boston Acoustics radio, new-in-the-box, and just found it and decided to clear it out.

After a long search that came up empty we didn’t have any luck, for a Boston Acoustics that is, but we did find a brand new, in-the-box, Tivoli Model One! I immediately bought it and waited excitedly for it to arrive.

It came on schedule and was exactly as described, new and untouched. Hurriedly, we set it up and turned it on. The wonderful, full and rich sound that we remembered from Dad’s radio poured from the amazing, small speaker.

Tivoli Audio designed an excellent radio with the Model One and it sounds simply great. It doesn’t have the digital tuning and digital readout of the Boston Acoustics, but that doesn’t matter. In fact, the Model one is absolutely beautiful with its real walnut wood case, dark brown tuning and control knobs on a soft-almond colored background.

Even the 2 lights (one green and one yellow, to show power on and station strength) are perfect among the rest of the design choices. We have an excellent stereo set up in our living room, which really does sound wonderful in its own right, but on a daily basis the Tivoli Model One is the one the plays our music all day, every day!.

When I initially received this I had failed to pay attention to the 18-hour battery life on a 3. 0ah battery, so I popped in one of my 8ah multivolt batteries, figuring that should be good for a day or two.

Fast forward to using it quite a bit throughout the week and the multivolt battery wasn’t even down a bar yet. That really impressed me, and back I went to using the 3. 0ah batteries. I like the fact that the handles on the back protect the battery area in case of a drop.

One of the other things that pleasantly surprised me was the fact that the bluetooth mode will automatically connect to your phone and resume playing as soon as you turn the radio on. That is a nice timesaver! The only negatives I can find is that the A/C adapter is easy to lose since there’s not really a place to store it, in fact, I have no idea where mine is at already.

At least it’s a common adapter that could be easily replaced. The other negative is that the handles/guardrails on the back do make it a bit too big to sit on a service cart without taking up a lot of space, it’s not really a portable radio, I think it’s better suited to sitting on a shelf or toolbox in the work area.

I am happy with this radio, I mostly listen to local stations while working and immediately I was satisfied with the strong reception I was able to trying multiple stations, Good adjustable sound quality, I very much enjoy the EQ adjustment, I love the fact that I can get the sound I want for what I am listening to, I have used the Bluetooth function also.

Very good range and connectivity using my cell phone, keeping my phone on me and moving around a house with walls in-between, my smallest of complaints is that I needed a bit more volume when a few rooms over that I was unable to achieve.

This is a one speaker design, small and easy portable, so easily can be moved with you. I will either be using this for job site or home use. It would be great for any other type of use such as camping or the beach,.

I recently came across this radio and it’s a real joy to use. The sound is great, and fine tunable to your liking through the EQ function. Strong AM/FM Reception. Bluetooth range is stellar also. I really like the green backlight on the display to match the MHPT Green.

You can use a 120V Cord or any 18V or 36V MHPT Battery for Power. I use the BIG 4/8ah 36V MV Battery, and this radio will last almost a week solid. Fantastic as usual from MHPT. My ONLY wish is that it could also be used as a charger for the battery.

A bit of work required for first time installers. Since it is a generic product, it doesnt not provide you specific points for hook-up to the car, so a sound understanding of electrical wiring, and hands-on skills are required I would say.

I installed this on my 2010 Porsche Boxster, and spent about 3hrs in total getting it installed under the panels and tucking away all visible wiring. Most of the time spent on figuring where I want to tuck wires etc.

Definitely worth the upgrade, sound quality is very good, and it connects to any paired device super quick! (literally the minute the module turns on, it connects and notifies with an audio key). The easy access button helps alot to change music tracks, answer calls etc without having to take your eyes off the road and fiddle around with your phone.

Lastly, the mic that comes with it can easily be wired and strategically place for good sound input quality. Depending on where you put it, it can be very stealthly located and not cause an eye sore to your car’s interior design.

Would definitely install on any older cars where to eliminate the use of AUX wires. One improvement I would say would be for the module to come with a power unit to charge your phone to. iSimple has a separate unit for that, but it would be nice if it all came as one unit.

Right now I just use a cigarette lighter adaptor and wire to charge my phone, so I wouldn’t say it is a deal breaker. Hope this review helps.

Installed in 2005 Dodge Ram with factory AM/FM/ single disc CD player with no option for adding auxiliary input. Don’t really have the money for an upgrade, and didn’t want the hassle of having to change the face-plate to install after market radio.

This was a super easy install; however, the directions for use once installed are a little murky. I was able to find a couple Youtube videos to help me figure it out. I also had to buy an adapter because my truck’s radio/antenna connection are not the standard, traditional car antenna set up.

The unit itself a little smaller than a pack of cigarettes. Wire up the button, wire up to ground and switched power, plug in antenna and play! Initially I had an issue with not being able to get the access button to connect with the device.

Called the seller (702-motoring, who were great by the way) and they said that the buttons can have an issue. I mailed the button only back to them (Did not need to uninstall the whole device. They were great!) and they mailed me a new one.

Bingo! Everything works great! Simple push of the button once the app is opened and you can use voice recognition (VR) to make and answer calls, send and read texts, and play music and skip songs. Another push of the button and I am back to listening to theFM radio signal.

My only three issues are as follows: 1) The mic that comes with the kit is not the greatest quality. There is lots of background noise, and I feel that something with a little better noise cancellation would work better.

When making calls, I am told by the party on the other end that I am a little hard to hear due to background noise, but I am hear-able. I have the mic mounted on the top of the door pillar near the mount for the sun visor.

2) Sometimes the VR doesn’t register that I am talking, which I suspect might be due to the quality of the mic. 3) Buying the antenna adapter was no problem, but now a station I listen to frequently does not tune in very well.

Not sure if it is due to the Tranzit Blue HF unit, the addition of the adapter, or if it’s a coincidence that the station’s signal got weaker. Seems to only be an issue with the one station (which is a National Public Radio (NPR) network) All in all, I am happy with the unit and would buy it again if I had a similar situation in another vehicle.

This was the best and easiest solution adding HF to a older GM radio using the FM modulator. The installation is straightforward, only inhibited by the type of vehicle you are installing to finding a convenient dash location for the Control Button.

Wiring harness and antenna* leads, power is fused and easily connected with plenty of reach for the Control Button and Microphone connections. Notice the nice flat slim cable for the Control Button affording more options to hide the dash pass thru.

Setup is simple as adding any Bluetooth device using just the Control Button. I did instal the APP to change the FM broadcast frequency to a favorite station, but not used otherwise unless in VR or managing more paired devices.

The VR^ (voice recognition) is a simple 2 second button press to start when Engaged. Most newer devices, VR operates on it’s own if the Tranlt BLU HF APP is installed to use the devices API. To be clear, the BLU HF ISFM2351 has 2 modes of operation: 1.

Disengaged (standby) the FM radio stations playing normal, ready for a incoming call. 2. Engauged cuts the factory FM antenna to feed the phone call then back to Disengaged when ended automatically. Manual Engauged for Bluetooth streaming or VR will stay Engaged, until you manually Disengage or accept a call.

Notes: *FM antenna connections, mine was (GM), require plug adapters from standard. ^VR control is unique to each manufacturer’s phone device and APP. The user must follow the VR operating instructions provided with the device.

Bought this specifically for the CD for my Harley but it skips too easily on the slightest bumps. This is a manufacturer thing not a garagebaggerstereo thing. Garagebaggerstereo had excellent customer service.

I would not recommend for a motorcycle or a boat. But I would recommend garagebaggerstereo. com.

The discrete power amplifier section provides a very musical sound. Direct mode eliminates the grungy sound of tone controls. As expected with refurbished items, there is always a problem of one sort or another.

The wrong remote control was included with the receiver. The one year warranty covers sending me the correct remote control. The refurbished Pioneer SX-10ae receiver is well worth the purchase price.

In this particular instance I purchased this item is to enhance the sound system linked to my computer, especially to enjoy music programs on Utube, as well as just to listen to music from radio stations both AM and FM while busy doing housework.

Great product that works well if you only need to add bluetooth streaming features to your outdated car radio. How it works is it will transmit on a unused FM channel on your radio. You will find an open frequency and tune the device to that frequency.

Then connect your phone or Bluetooth device for hands free operation and audio streaming. I do not know the ranges that it works as my 12v adapter you plug into is near the radio but the first channel I selected was unused but the next day something was transmitting on it and caused distortion.

All you have to do is find another channel to use. This could be an issue for long road trips as you travel you may come in range of a transmitting station but it’s easy to resolve. It has a USB charging port so you can still charge your phone off the 12v adapter- a very smart feature.

The price is reasonable considering otherwise the cost of replacing an entire radio head unit and worry about any existing amplifiers and speaker matching. This just plugs in to your 12v socket and it works.

It does not have a lot of features. You get bluetooth audio for your phone and that is about it. It has a nice interface that may be too bright for some but it has a sound meter that lights up your dashboard a bit.

It does exactly what I needed it to do and it is a well thought out product that works well and for not a lot of money.

Husband wanted a way to play his YouTube Music List through car speakers via his cell phone. This worked like a charm. Easy Set Up. He can jam to his favorite tunes now. Hubby can charge his cell phone as well since it it’s equipped with the USB plug options.

So the maker of this product thought of a way to make it multifunctional, too. Plug fits snug in the power outlet in our car. Because of where the power outlet is in our car, near the floor, the hands-free conversation for the cell phone isn’t very loud.

Sounds distant, but that’s not a knock against the unit itself because it does work. If your power plug was up higher on dashboard/center console, it might sound better. It’s all about location, location, location.

This Bluetooth transmitter is the last of many I’ve tried. It beats them all hands down! It has clean, full sound without loss of equalization or volume during transmission. Although my transmitter is plugged into the 12v socket that is near the floor, everyone I’ve spoken to has said that they hear me loud and clearly with no static – and I speak in normal low speaking voice.

This product is better than I hoped for. And programming it is so, well, Simple! I recommend anyone who has a vehicle that doesn’t support Bluetooth technology to get one! Do it now!.

So far so good. I bought this for my 1999 Toyota Camry. It doesn t fit (there is a large gap in the console), but I have the car for reliability not to look pretty. I got 2 eyelets welded on the thin metal casing so it could be safe to say it still fits the car 🙂 when the correct wiring harness came I wired it all up, and it works beautifully.

It has options for everything you need (base, right, left, front, rear, treble, etc). It even has a loud mode that makes the base feel 2x as better, and louder. Don t go to maximum unless you wanna blow all your speakers.

This even has options to change your time from standard to 24-hour. You can change your lighting to low, medium, and high. None of my interior lights work, so if I need to see I switch the lighting on to highest (yes it s that bright, it lights up most of my car).

Don t do it at night while driving though, it can be pretty blinding. I have tried out the USB, aux, and Bluetooth. I have no clue how it can have this many features with this price. I charge my iPhone with the USB port and use the Bluetooth feature for my music.

Unbeatable price for the quality of this item. I have no cons for this item because I upgraded from a 23-year-old factory car radio I ve been using my whole life so I don t know how it can get better than this lol.

I purchased this product as I broadcast on two AM radio stations, often from home. I wanted the unit to provide good AM reception to my home studio. I had already installed a high gain helical antenna on the roof of the house using the metal roof as a ground plane.

The AM reception is extremely poor. FM is fair. Reception of AM stations on my car radio in the garage is excellent. I will experiment further but as a radio engineer I don’t hold much hope in getting a usable AM signal.

We purchased the radio to go in our small caravan just to keep informed daily events. Find with the two speakers the sound is very good and all that we want. I find the product was easy to place and install,sound quality clear and easy to listen to.

The USB port comes in handy when you want to listen to your own choice of music, or when in a Dead spot for RF receiving.

I bought this as Christmas present for my wife back in 2020 and really wanted to love it. The retro styling makes it a nice looking addition to the kitchen and it has a small footprint. However the comprise appears to have been in the speaker which seems to be lacking the range of frequency to provide a clear and engaging sound.

It particularly suffers at the top end making the fact it’s a DAB radio somewhat redundant as it brings a similar clarity to music as you heard with a strong AM/MW signal. That said for those mainly listening to talk radio (radio 4, 5 live etc) it probably wouldn’t be an issue.

It really is unfortunate as the radio has great potential but really suffers from the apparent inferior speaker used. In retrospective spending a bit more on the stereo model I would anticipate would bring the audio benefits lacking in this model.

I was surprised as having tested against a mono Bluetooth speaker it still brought a tighter and more expansive sound than the rambler bt when streaming the same tracks.

This radio was a replacement for a previous very satisfactory Roberts Internet radio that was rendered unusable by the closing of the “Reciva” platform. The radio arrived promptly after order very well packed and in excellent condition.

A very good looking design of cabinet with all controls clear and accessible with a colour display. Setting up was easy, connection to the internet was seamless, and achieved wirelessly. The DAB and FM set up was just as easy.

There are plenty of pre-sets so that finding favourite stations is easy and quick. The tone of the radio is very good from the two front facing speakers with plenty of volume. The CD player is an added bonus.

In summary a very good radio with plenty of features and easy to set up and use.

I plugged it into my computer which is kind of old and does not have USB 3. 0. Using MX linux it found it under bluman manager and found my speaker fairly easy. It plays my small collection of bluetooth speakers fine.

Under hardware readout it comes up as a realtek 8771 chipset. I am happy with the dongle. This is a bluetooth 5. 0 dongle. I tried two other cheaper ones which came up as Cambridge Sound Radio and I could not get either to work in MX Linux.

They were 5. 0 also. I did a distance test against a 4. 0 dongle and I did not get any extra distance from the 5. 0 bluetooth standard. Speaker started losing connection at the exact same spot.

This thing is great. It connects immediately when I enter the car and is super simple to set up. Of course, the sound quality suffers a bit from the method of connection. If you arent a super audiot then the nearly inaudible fuzz every now and then will not bother you too much.

Its not the same as straight connect to speakers or deck but it is a very good substitute if you dont have that option and want the Bluetooth capability. People say the phone quality is good as well.

I like it.

Had it now for two weeks, love the hands free phone option. Can’t beat the options for the price. Use it daily, love listing to Pandora, and all the music apps. It’s an easy upgrade for cars that are not equipped with the optional blue tooth and hands free factory options.

Brings old cars and trucks into the 21st century. Charging feature is faster than the basic phone charger. Like the battery voltage monitor, especially for vehicles not equipped with a voltage meter.

And it’s very user friendly. I would recommend this product to my Family and Friends.
