Need a nice affordable AM/FM antenna for new Fusion radio in my 98 Sea Ray 270 which in do massive upgrades to, looking forward to getting it installed. Make sure you purchase a mount for it as well so you can fold it down when you need to.

This thing pulls in stations from all over. Twice as many as most others I’ve had. Well worth the extra $$$$$.

This is the second one of these I have purchased in 3 years. I recently broke my first when an old antenna mount is was on broke and the antenna mast survived without hardly a scuff or scratch. but the wire/cable understandably was not designed to be yanked on like it was.

Despite the pressure the cable had on it, the cable only had a small crack in the outer shell and that was only because the antenna had been hanging over the boat for several minutes at a good planing speed before it was noticed that the mount is was on, broke.

If we noticed the mount even a little bit early or if the water was a bit calmer the antenna would have been just fine. So we replaced the mount and decided to not fool with the cracked insulation. Frankly, part of my wonders why it was still attached to the boat after nearly 10 minutes like that.

The mount it was on, is what this antenna goes onto. It was NOT the antenna that broke in my case. just the mount. but we were underway in slightly choppy waters and didn’t notice it when the mount initially broke.

This is a great antenna. Been VERY pleased with its looks, function, and value! I would happily buy it again and recommend it to my friends too!.

I bought this assuming it would match my other 8 ft. Shakespeare vhf ant. But it is a couple inches shorter and alot thinner diameter.

Great antenna for my HF receiver on my sailboat. I mounted it atop a Shakespeare extension mast to get it as high as possible off the stern of my boat. It works great!

It arrived on time. Used it to replace a solid antenna on my boat. This works nice because when I put the cover on I don’t have a antenna to fold down. Just run this wire in a place that is out of the way.

Makes things look nice and clean.

Great product, arrival time excellent

It did everything I needed it to do at a very low price tag. My location to FM radio stations is relatively close, but there were a few college radio stations that I like to listen to that were difficult (if not impossible) to pick up.

I have a good location- on a hill overlooking a lake, so right of the bat I had that in my favor. With any FM antenna, it is best to mount outdoor and up as high as possible. I used a 7′ length of galvanized conduit and mounted it on the roof.

The antenna was simple to set up, is very lightweight and doesn’t look like an unsightly monstrosity. In fact, I find it quite pleasing. After running a length of 50′ RG6 coax cable to the radio, I fired it up and was picking up stations I’ve never heard before.

I was quite pleased. Two negatives I did find: The manufacturer does not pack the antenna in bubble wrap or any other type of material- just a flimsy, cardboard box. When it arrived, the box was pretty beat up and the antenna arrays were bent somewhat.

They were fairly easy to bend back, but I think Weingard needs to address this. The other issue was that both wires from the U connectors on the twin lead pulled out while I was connecting the coax cable.

They are just crimped on. I would highly suggest soldering those joints before you get out the ladder and climb up on the roof! UGGGHHH!!!. frustrating. That aside, I think this is very good antenna at a great price.

If where you live is more distant to transmitters, and the terrain is more challenging, a (directional) Yagi type antenna would be in order.

My workshop is in a small valley. FM radio reception has always been difficult. I purchased this antenna, and mounted it in the attic space of my building. Installation was easy. The four aluminum masts fold, making it easy to fit the antenna though doorways and other openings.

The mounting bracket allows easy clamping to nearly anything. In my case, I just used a piece of wooden dowel screwed into the roof truss and used the supplied clamp (again, this was indoors). You’ll need a length of coaxial cable for the antenna connection, and a way to put F connectors on the ends.

The only challenge for me was finding one of those little adapters to attach the coax cable to screw terminals on the back of my receiver. I used to have several, but had thrown them away long ago when I got rid of my analog televisions.

No one stocks these locally any longer. So be aware, if you don’t have one, that you need to order one (or make one, like I did). Reception was immediately and dramatically improved over the cheap dipole antenna I had nailed to the wall.

I can now pick up radio stations over 50 miles away, in some cases. Local stations now come in clear and static-free. I find myself wishing I had more station presets now. All in all, I’m quite pleased with my purchase.

The WINEGARD HD-6010 FM antenna is the greatest thing since sliced bread! It really works! I live about 50 miles North of Boston, MA. Before I purchased the WINEGARD HD-6010 I could only receive a handful of stations.

Got a new Yamaha stereo receiver and this antennae. Works very well with it and pulls in a lot of stations. A cheap upgrade that gets the job done. Money well spent . Try it youll like it!

The antenna might have worked if I had had five feet of vertical and six feet of horizontal wall space behind my radio. I am now using a two-foot length of antenna wire hanging from the rear of the radio.

While not perfect, the reception is clearer than with the dipole antenna that I purchased.

It does not do what it says. After hooking it up, I plugged in the amplifier and it got worse. I called the help tech and they would not help me. They told me to take it back and get a refund. I went on yahoo and search on how to make your own antenna.

They said to get a rg45 cable and cut one end off. Strip 4 or 5 wires and twist them together. Cut off the remaining wires. Hook the twisted wires to your antenna connection. You will have a better antenna.

FM ANTOP Antenna for Radio/ Great reception. The FM radio antenna works well with the stereo system. It gives clear reception so I am able to enjoy my favorite music or radio station. I like the fact that it is thin, lightweight, looks artistic with its slight curve shape and doesn’t take up a lot of space.

It is black and looks nice next to the stereo and TV and all the other electronics. I can place it on the entertainment center and it doesn’t look out of place. Other antennas I have seen were bulky or metallic looking so they were more of an eyesore.

Make sure your stereo system has a cable coaxial on your equipment so you can connect the cable wire to it.

I bought the antenna based upon others mostly positive reviews. It is pricey, but I wanted to maximize my reception. Installation was easy there was an existing small hole it the ceiling of my laundry room and I just slid the mast up through it and mounting was easy.

I decided on this installation because: 1) I didnt want to mount it outdoors, 2) my attic might not be tall enough to allow full antenna length, and 3) I had sometimes had squirrels in my attic and I didnt want the to chew the antenna coil or cable.

There was improvement in reception but it was slight. The reception of strong stations was stronger; the reception of fuzzy stations improved. But there are stations I can receive in my car that I still cant get on my stereo.

Tuner is an old Fisher with 1. 9 microvolts sensitivity, so it should be capable of pulling in stations. This antenna is too expensive for the slight improvement in reception. I would have been money ahead just using rabbit ears.

I have used both of the Dynalab antennas. See my reviews of the SR100. The ST2 is omnidirectional. The one I borrowed had a looong coaxial cable. Because of that the antenna can be moved to the best spot in your room.

Maybe in a corner behind curtains. Where it really shines is to mount it in an attic. All that is needed is a small hole in the ceiling. This or the other Dynalab antenna is better than the old dual dipole ribbon style antenna.

If you are looking for a over the air antenna in rural areas this is it! No Kidding. I mounted it discretely indoors, outdoors should increase reception. My Denon receiver and Klipsch speakers now have a superb over the air signal.

Product seems well made and worked flawlessly when attached to my vhf cable. However, if you are replacing a Metz sailboat mast antenna you should now that the body of the Shakespeare is longer than the Metz and may not fit in the space the Metz antenna did.

Just important to be prepared to do a workaround our move it to a different spot.

These are pretty established VHF antenna’s. The 5215 has been around for a long time because it is such a great antenna. This is the perfect antenna to mount on top of a sailboat mast. You get about 10 years out of them (that’s what I got out of the last 5215 that this one replaced) in a salt water environment.

Well this antenna (smaller than I thought) hooked right up to the back of the audio system. It requires power and I now get the FM radio station clear as a bell. A wonderful antenna. Never knew one for a stereo existed.

I purchased the antenna to help with reception for FM signal. I have a new Sony STR-DH190 receiver. This antenna as no available connection to meet the Sony plug in requirements. The antenna came with a small plastic plug in adapter but, no fit! Antenna now useless!.

I live in a valley and my home radio reception is poor/fair. I was using a Phillips AM/FM/TV rabbit ears antenna. You can tell a substantial difference with this antenna. The signal strength is a three out of 10 compared to almost nothing before.

It’s went up to fair/good which is the best I can expect.

Great antenna for any older stereo receiver. From the 300ohm loop connection to the distance this antenna can extend. Great product would recommend to help with your fm reception.

This product was affordable and it far exceeded my expectations. Not only do my channels come in very clear;but, I can get more channels than before. GREAT BUY!

I highly recommend this antenna especially if you can mount it outdoors. It is quite easy to install with really no assembly required other than mounting it on a mast, attaching some coax cable, running the cable in to your receiver and securing the mast.

As shipped, the antenna elements are already connected, so you just have to unfold them. There is a built in coax F connector to make attaching the feed wire simple. With this antenna in place my FM tuner performs at a level of musical presentation that I never expected.

I live 50 miles or so from three favorite stations and their signals now come in strong at the very top of the signal strength meter and never wavering. I can tune them using the wide band mode for the richest signal with absolutely no fading or noise.

This antenna is directional, but I can point it anywhere within about a 30 degree arc and not lose any signal strength. I do not have to make any adjustments for the different stations. What I like most is that now we can move around the house without interfering with the signal quality.

I had tried a more expensive indoor antenna and found that it had to be moved around a bit for each different station and even then it could not achieve full signal strength and the signal would drop out sometimes as we moved around the room.

Now, the music from these FM stations is as beautiful and detailed as it is with a high end cd player that I own. I had forgotten just how pleasurable FM listening can be, not only with the variety of great music but also intelligent and relevant (informative) commentary from the hosts.

Downside ? I am now spending too much time listening. I need to mow the grass !.

Great Yagi antenna design. Antenna arrived quickly and assembly was easy. Mounting the antenna is easy with the hardware provided. Immediately upon installing the antenna/ coax I was able to receive far out stations that were previously unobtainable on my Grundig 800 satellite radio receiver.

I previously had no reception trying to receive any of my favorite radio stations, however this antenna performed flawlessly, allowing me to enjoy ALL the stations I was seeking to pull in. I plan installing a antenna rotor to maximize this antennas directional sensitivity ability, but even without a rotor installed I am easily receiving all my desired radio stations here in my rural North-central Florida location.

I needed this to replace an old FM yagi that was used at a radio station to receive signals which we relay for the Emergency Alert System. The stations we monitor are about 60 miles away. The old antenna was a 5 element but this antenna has nearly as much gain as the old one had.

The reception is reliable over that range (we are in flat terrain). The antenna assembled quickly and easily. What I don’t know is whether the hardware will hold up in our semi-salt air here in Florida with high humidity – only time will tell.

The old one was a Radio Shack product no longer made – and it rusted apart. But I did like how simple and quickly it was to put into place and tighten the screws with the supplied wingnuts.

AS advertised. My girlfriend received a free Sony with external speakers but no antenna, so it didn’t work. The receiver works great now…and the total investment was approximately $15.

I research what I needed. Found the product with the correct connector which proved the component needed. Installed easily and works fine.

Through the years I have tried different fm antennas that would improve reception on stations with weak signals, Terk Antennas that plug into the electrical outlet. Very little improvement. Saw this product recently saw the reviews from various sites and decided to try.

When I received this, it looked flimsy, wondered how could this product improve reception, what a great surprise! This works great! FM reception is great, easy to use, doesn’t look decorative, won’t have visual appeal in decorative room but does what it is suppose to, extremely happy with this! Note; I don’t usually write reviews, if I do they are short and to the point, but someone did write one previous for me to read, I would not have this important part of my Hi Fi system, so it my turn to pay it forward.

This is not my first SR100. When I first got into audio back in the late ’80s, I was having trouble pulling in radio stations on my new NAD tuner. A friend of mine who introduced me to high-end audio recommended this bizarre looking antenna, which at the time I believe was around $25.

00. I bought it, hooked it up, and was beyond amazed at its ability to pull in the most distant stations. At that point, I was sold. In my new home, the stucco on the outside provides the perfect rf blanket.

In Central Florida, where the FM band is saturated, I could only pull in 1 station. I reached out to Audio Advisor and bought another SR100. Now I am able to pull in every station except 3. This is a tunable, bi-directional antenna.

So you might have to extend or reduce the center leg and turn the antenna in a certain direction to get the stations you want, but for such a low price, I don’t believe there is a better antenna for indoor use.

on my bedroom Hi-Fi I was using a “table top” indoor multi-aerial with indifferent results (often missing channels when searching) so decided to try an aerial I could hang like a cross in my window. 100% delighted with the signal capture improvement from this little gizmo.

After reading many reviews, I was hoping this aerial would sort my new hi-fi systems lack of finding many stations that my old system found on its single wire aerial. Unfortunately it was no better than with the new systems single wire aerial.

T- aerial for FM reception – 150 cm upright, with 150 cm top. I would have prefered that the item had been rolled rather than folded, but it still works fine, and this is sited only a few feet above sea level! Very happy with this item.

The reception distance away from the station is cut in half. Not sure why. I mounted away from metal structure.

I live in a hilly area and fm reception can be spotty on many stations, so I bought this antenna in the hope of improving signal quality. I mounted it 20 feet above ground level with about 30 of coax, oriented toward the majority of towers.

It had zero effect, no better than no antenna at all. Quite disappointing given an all-in expense of about $80.

This antenna receives real well..it is only about 20 ft. off the ground but is able to pick up stations over 40 miles away. A great improvement over the one I had.

Easy to assemble. I live in a rural area and I still have static on my radio. I thought this antenna would eliminate the problem.

I like this product. It is kinda quirky but it works pretty good. You don’t want to hold it very firmly because the thin plastic housing and thin plastic reel will bind when reeling-in the wire. The whip antenna connector is pretty neat and is a nice option to have when your radio lacks an external antenna jack.

The wire is long enough to make a significant improvement in reception. It works and it’s compact enough take along with you in your t-shirt pocket. I would recommend it.

Let me start off with the good point. The antenna itself is very good. The coating on the wire is slippery so it’s not likely to hang up in trees. It’s long enough to be effective even indoors. Here’s why I don’t recommend the Kaito antenna.

First of all it is almost impossible to rewind the extended antenna back into its housing. The finger holes are just too shallow to get a good grip for rewinding. Second when the wire is fully extended it comes off the spool with no warning and cannot be hooked back up.

I do recommend the similar Sangean portable antenna. It is much easier to rewind. I kept the Kaito wire and rewrapped it onto a kite string spool but now knowing its shortcomings I’m sorry I bought it at all.

Works well with FM and SW, not so much with AM. Nice and compact design for a go kit or a small Faraday container. I like the fact it has a little clamp for telescoping antennas is your radio does not have a jack to plug into.

Just as good as I expect, a quality product!
