20 Best Floor Lamps For Office (2023 Updated)

The lamp is an attractive addition to my bedroom. The quality is great, and it was shipped to me on time. The one drawback is the way one turns the lamp on and off. There is no on/off switch near the light bulb.

The off/on switch is on the floor, attached to the cord. I find this to be inconvenient. I have the lamp next to my bed, and I would have to reach down to the floor to turn the lamp on and off if I did not hang the cord on the screw that allows the lamp to be moved up and down.

I was disappointed at this development, but the lamp gives good light. Satisfied customer.

I purchased a chair for an area that I’ve been looking for, for a very long time, finally I found that chair but now it needed a light next to it. I did not want one that sat on a table so on the hunt I was.

I looked at stores, online, in magazines but just could find the idea I was looking for until I brought Lamps Plus up online put in the color that I wanted and floor lamp and there it was bigger than life although it’s not a big light it’s slim and perfect.

Now that area looks amazing. Lighting makes such a huge difference no matter how beautiful your furniture is it needs that extra touch. I would recommend this light not only because it fits the part and the color is right but the lighting itself couldn’t be better.

Someone wrote in the review that it was difficult to put together, not sure what that person was doing but I did it myself in no time. I’m anxious to sit there with a good book and actually be able to see.

So 5 plus stars for me!!!.

I had a difficult time finding a floor lamp short enough to place behind a reading chair at a sloped wall. Because it is adjustable, this one is perfect for my space. It arrived promptly and was easy to assemble.

I wish there was an option to turn it on/off at the top in addition to the floor button since I have it in the corner behind the chair, but I was able to put the floor button in a place that’s relatively easy to access.

The finish on the lamp is great.

I normally select Room Essentials items for their ratio of cost to performance. Unfortunately, this item misses the mark. I am not certain if there is a quality control issue at play, but there seems to be a number of problems with the product design.

Let’s get started: Good things: 1) Lamp is of low cost. 2) Lamp has simple instructions. 3) Lamp “Shade” distributes light well. (I use it as a reading light and it definitely succeeds in this regard) 4) Lamp is easy to transport and does disassemble into a series of easy to move parts (The longest dimension of the product box is around 15 inches (381 [mm])).

Bad things: 1) Lamp arrived broken. The shade is very thin plastic (maybe 1/16-1/8 of an inch (1. 5875-3. 175 [mm])) and seems very easy to break. My lamp shade arrived broken (before writing this review, Target offered me a replacement item for this concern with no hesitation.

This quality of customer service is the reason why I shop at Target. Thanks you, Target!). I understand that shipping and handling likely caused the issue, but the thin design I believe also contributes to likliness of part failure.

2) Lamp head arrived with a rusty turn switch. Not really a challenge to fix, just annoying and some sand paper took it right off. 3) The design has a couple of point failures which can cause the lamp to lose useability.

To clarify: The “body/trunk” of the lamp is a a series of five metallic tubes that screw together to form the overall trunk (each tube is roughly 12. 5 inches (317. 5 [mm]) long). If we index tubes from the base to the top (i.

e. the tube that screws into the base is “Tube 1” and the tube that screws into the fixture is “Tube 5”), on my item, the interconnection between Tube 2 and Tube 3 is extremely lose and did not thread together well.

I ended up applying some adhesive (hot glue so that I could remove it later for transport) and made some plastic shims using a couple plastic dowel rods to “secure/shore up” the connection. There’s still a slight bend (around 15-25 degrees), but the lamp does stand under its own weight.

On the overall, I understand that you get what you pay for, and this is definitely a cheaper item. I would probably recommend this lamp only as a temporary furnature piece for one’s child’s college room, where the quality and longevity of the item is not of principal concern.

If you can afford to go up to the next “step” of quality in your budget, I would undeniably recommend one to do so. The price may be attractive, but this item isn’t a winner. Target is sending me a replacement item to address the cracked shade.

I do not know if the other challenges will be fixed, but I will try to update this review once I get the new item. This may all boil down to bad Quality Control on this Room Essentials item, and I hope that this is the case.

It was purchased because it was cheap and its temporary. It looks fine and its tucked in a corner in an office with no over head light. The larger light works. The smaller adjustable/bendable light does not.

We tried a different bulb, a different brand of bulb, and a different wall outlet. We also tried adjusting the cord that runs the length of the pole to see if it was to tight or twisted. Still non functional.

The bigger lamp head works fine. For the price it’s fine. Not great and not the worst, just fine. If you really need a lamp it’s affordable, looks okay, and will probably be fully functional.

It’s to be expected that it’s not the most impressive lamp. It works, the little reading light is adjustable, and it’s just a basic lamp. The base is surprisingly sturdy (pretty solid). The lamp shades (plastic pieces) were a little scuffed and seem flimsy, but the light still works.

Of note, it says to use 3-way light bulbs. Didn’t read this when I ordered, so just be mindful since I had to buy different bulbs (don’t keep three-way bulbs in stock). Standard lights will work, but according to the warning label you’re risking fire, shock, horrendous death, etc.

I bought two of these to add to both sides of my TV adding onto my already existing Sync Box setup. Works great! I already have a couple of the regular ones and love how they throw light on the wall without really seeing the lamp itself.

These new versions with more color zones work great with sync. The only negative was how they were packed and how fedex banged the boxes around during delivery. One was hanging out and the other box was totally ripped up.

Luckily the lights themselves were ok, but Hue should pack these better for $300/each!.

The 2nd generation Signe Hue lamps are a great addition to my hue system. The hue app has been updated to allow for moving/transition “dynamic” color scenes, to add additional dramatic look to your space.

Easy to setup and configure within the app. The only slight downside is the cost for these lamps.

I like the ambient light and that you can sync it to the tv with another piece of equipment. They aren’t good for reading light, but they are great for general lighting. I love that you can change the colors and set moods.

Purchased this for our baby nursery. Easy to assemble and we thought it would last. Within a week, it broke. I went to move the lamp and the leg fell right off. Where the leg screws into the lamp has only two small soldering areas.

Honestly, there is a more expensive option available which is significantly more sturdy. This lamp is not a good option if you have pets or children. Very disappointed as it is a nice looking lamp with a nice shade, but the quality is lacking.

The style is gorgeous and looks great in the room. Only issue was the lamp shade came damaged twice but Target was amazing to resolve, always great customer service. Also, the shade does not fit snug and tight.

It is loose so it could easily be tipped. I have it in the corner of my room so it works fine. Overall very pretty, easy to assemble, good buy. If you’re not too picky and want something simple this is a great choice.

Gold is more brass so definitely subtle and not bright whatsoever.

First of all, I absolutely love this lamp. It’s modern yet still soft and ambient. The gold is perfect. I shopped forever for a lamp like this, and most were $200-$300. This one is comparable in style for a fraction of the cost.

I also love that the cord is hidden inside one of the legs instead of dangling all the way in plain sight from the top. Even some of the more expensive ones lack this feature which really is necessary.

I finally decided this was the best choice for a family of 6. I really do love it, but I’m giving it 4 stars because when putting it together, one of the pieces didn’t fit well. Now the whole balance of the tripod is off.

All the legs need to be the same length for a tripod to work. One of the peg “foot” pieces that screws into the bottom of each leg just wouldn’t screw in. It wouldn’t fit into any of the legs, which was very frustrating.

If I could drive to target and exchange it I would. Shipping it back and waiting again seems to much, so I’m keeping it. We had to unscrew each peg evenly, so it would sit level making it just not as sturdy.

I was super disappointed in this. It just shows that with a less expensive item, you get a little less quality. Over all, I’m still happy with it. I just wish it would have all fit together as it should have.

Do not buy these lamps. The base are fine easy to assemble but the lampshade itself is a clip on. Flimsy, badly made and does not clip in. So it keeps turning and turning

I love this lamp! I bought this for more light for cross-stitching and I just bought another for bedtime reading! I love the different light colors and brightness. And the remote is super convenient.

And I love that I can position it to point any which way.

I had shopped around for this style of lamp for months. When I saw this particular item I was impressed. handsome and simple. The price was my range. An excellent find for me. It looks terrific in the corner of my living room that used to be dark.

It’s now a stunning piece all on its own.

I was looking for a minimalistic tripod floor lamp that would go with my space, and this was exactly what I had envisioned! What I love is that the wire runs inside one of the leg so that it’s not exposed and I was also able to place one of my smart Phillips light bulb to customize my lighting.

I absolutely love it and have gotten so many compliments already.

Bought this lamp because I wanted nice floor lamp. It is really beautiful especially for the price. The only complaint will be the box arrived and the packing material was destroyed and made a huge mess in my house while unpacking.

Plus it was missing the socket nut that holds the shade down. When I called the number to explain they offered no help. They said the company offers no eeplacement parts. I said I’m not replacing, it wasn’t there yo begin with.

Long story short I had to drive the 40 minutes to the nearest store and they opened up another box and got one out for me. Just a note, I also sold one to a man in the Aisle because I really do like the lamp.

Another thing to note: very top heavy but mine is tucked in a corner behind a sofa.

The ad is a bit misleading. It does not take two 150W bulbs, only one. It was easy to put together and set up. Looks more expensive than it is. The shade is very large and sits quite a way from the wall.

I am curious how to change the night light bulb when it burns out. The night light bulb is very bright in my opinion. I’d like to put in a smaller wattage. Any ideas anyone? Very pleased with my purchase and did get it on sale.

Just bought 2 of these lamps for our living room. Did curb side pickup which was fast and easy. Lamps were securely packaged and ready to be put together. They are larger than they look so do need a big room.

I was searching for a lamp that would bring some elegance to my living room. This was the perfect lamp for me. I love the “crystals” hanging below the shade. It certainly adds beauty to my room. In addition, it is easy to light the lamp, because once the light is plugged-in, you can step-on a fixture, that allows the lamp to light.

This lamp is a beautiful addition to my home. It coordinates with lamps I already have and sit perfectly in the corner. I weighted so it sits properly. I received it in 3 days unbelievable service. Ordered 2 floor lamps was so satisfied I just ordered 2 table lamps.

Good quality light for the price. The base is fairly heavy to prevent tip-overs, shade is plastic, but seems to be durable. The neck will bend over the back of my couch to put the light exactly where I need it for my crochet or sewing projects.

I’ve had this model light for the past 10 years, but it finally stopped working. I liked it so much that I wanted to replace it with the exact light I previously had.

Horrible in just about every way. Very hard to put together because the cord runs through the pole pieces and the weight of the gooseneck pulls it to the side so you can’t thread the screws properly.

Unless you have someone to help you by holding the top part, it’s almost impossible to screw it together without striping the threads. The plastic cover arrived bent. The weighted bottom is too small so the lamp is unstable and topples easily when you try to adjust the gooseneck.

The switch is so tiny, I can barely grasp it and it’s very hard to turn. Because it’s not a standard size, there’s no way to fit an adapter on it. If you are older, have arthritis or any kind of disability affecting your hands (as I do), then you won’t be able to turn it on or off.

I couldn’t believe there wasn’t any kind of knob attachment for this switch, but I searched through everything and there’s nothing, so apparently this is the way it’s designed. Unless you have tiny Chinese fingers and no arthritis or carpal tunnel, this switch will be a problem! Also, the plastic ‘protective’ wrapping on this switch was incredibly difficult to remove, and much of the paint came off with it when I took it off, but I didn’t dare leave it on for fear it would melt (and create a fire hazard) and I couldn’t turn it at all until I removed it.

I’m homebound and had to order this lamp, so it will be a real pain in the rear to rear to return. I’m also on a fixed income, so I can’t afford something expensive. I needed a good crafting lamp, so I didn’t care if the cover was plastic, but this is so flimsy that it didn’t even survive the shipping intact.

I’m pretty sure I’m going to have to return this and pay more for something better, but the lamp I REALLY wanted didn’t ship to may area so I settled for this one. But this is just not worth the money.

Avoid this lamp like the plague!.

I read some of the reviews & was a little reluctant to purchase. Also the web site said that my local store didn’t carry it. I found it on the shelf after all! I purchased a lightbulb (included~ which I didn’t know at the time of purchase, which was a bonus for me!)after bringing it home: I assembled it myself.

Pluged it, Turned it on & it was TREMENDOUS! the light coverage is Wonderful for my cutting Table!I put the lamp on the corner of the table so I had complete use of the table without the lamp being in the way! I then took it into my sewing room where the corner I wanted illuminated for my sewing at night was THE BEST illimunation I’ve found yet! the thin floor pole and heavy base make it easy to fit between the wall and behind the sewing cabnet.

EXCELLENT for a crafter who needs great overhead lighting without the heat being right on either shoulder! VERY PLEASED! thinking of going and geting another for the other side of the room!And maybe another as a gift for my daughter who is also a seamstress/home quilter/Crafter.

The floor lamp is beautiful and works very well. I just thought that the shades were made of glass instead of plastic. But it is worthy for the price. I recommend this product.

Bin aber und das ist das wichtigste mit dieser Lampe sehr zufrieden. Sie leuchtet meinen Schreibtisch gut aus, was auch der Höhe von beinahe 2m geschuldet ist. Die indirekte Beleuchtung lasse ich meist aus.

Somit ebenfalls ein Plus, dass beides unabhänig von einander gesteuert werden kann. Da ich für mein Esszimmer bei Ihnen ebenfalls eine Lampe bestellt habe und es nun Rabatt für bestimmte Hersteller gibt bin ich etwas geknickt – zu früh – bestellt zu haben.

Ich hätte hier sehr viel Geld sparen können.

Really modern looking lamp. Looks good in our contemporary room, but I think would be equally as good in a more traditional setting, We bought it because it’s British. But it isn’t a tall lamp – worth being aware.

Really nice task lamp! Pretty finish, looks like pictures, and (most) of the style is great too. Personally HATE seeing so much of the wire, but I knew what I was ordering. Wish it was 100 watt not 60 (the ugly visible cord and the wattage are why it’s a 4 star not 5 star review!)But it looks great and took maybe 2 minutes to “assemble” (if you can even call it that lol).

Overall a good purchase. I’ll probably end up getting 1-2 more for other rooms that need the light (but can be placed behind furniture to cover that hideous wire! Such a design flaw. Kind of unbelievable.

The lamp fits perfectly in my mid century modern room- and is nicely constructed and very pretty. I was only ably to buy a 40 watt bulb- it really isn’t bright enough. But I was unable to find a 60 watt.

Buying lightbulbs is no fun any more. You need a college degree! I hope I’m happier when I find a 60.

Perfect reading lamp, it’s not as tall as you would expect, but it’s the perfect size for good task lighting. the metal is high quality and it doesn’t take up too much space.

Our family recently downsized and moved into an apartment. The space is beautiful with exposed brick and stunning hardwood floors. Unfortunately, the lighting is absolutely terrible. Since we are renting the space, we decided not to invest money in light fixtures that we won’t be able to take with us if we move.

Instead we purchased 2 floor lamps for the living room/dining room/kitchen area, along with 2 lamps for the end tables. We also bought a table lamp for each bedroom. We’d like to add a floor lamp in each bedroom as well.

Since this review is specific to the AJ Floor Lamps, I’d like to point out that the lamps feature an adjustable neck, so you can point light just where you want it. I can color in my adult coloring books much easier with my floor lamp, as I’m able to illuminate the page I’m working on.

My son and daughter use theirs to study and draw, and my husband uses his to read. These lamps are amazing and have helped our family so much already. The move itself was a hassle, but having these lamps delivered to our door was wonderful.

I highly recommend your lighting to anyone and everyone looking to add more light to a dim space. Thanks for such great customer service and for offering quality products that working men and women can easily afford.

I bought this light a couple of months ago and am really pleased with it. It gives the perfect amount of light for reading and the design is sharp and modern. I would advise that you take note of the height; it is perfectly suited to stand next to a chair or couch, but it is shorter than one might expect for a floor lamp.

Not a complaint per se, but something to be aware of.

The price is high and certainly the lamp is overpriced – considering the material. The first copy delivered was not even perfectly processed, which should have been noticed during the manufacturer’s quality control.

The replacement delivery is free of defects. But the lamp is so incredibly beautiful even when switched off that you don’t even think about the price anymore. Gives a very pleasant light. Wouldn’t want to miss her anymore.

Despite the price, therefore, full points.

This lamp is heavy, stunning, and feels high-quality, with the following exceptions: – We never managed to get the shade to sit evenly on the lamp base. It doesn’t tighten properly, so it spins around and hangs unevenly.

– Within two weeks after purchase, the lamp base developed a MASSIVE horizontal crack about 4 inches above the base. It’s visible and looks awful. The lamp never fell, so we have no idea how the crack developed.

So, gorgeous lamp, but disappointing performance from such an expensive item.

The Polar Floor Lamp is impeccable! It looks exactly as photographed and I’m obsessed with it, it’s perfect in my living space. One of my favorite parts is seeing that black ‘slice’ of the mechanism between the beautifully simple lampshade and the wonderfully crafted base.

It will last a lifetime and I suspect it will always retain its modern, cool factor.

I am so in love with this floor lamp. It is absolutely stunning, just the right height, elegant and classic. Every time people come over they compliment on how beautiful it is. Incredible price in my opinion.
