This fan is wonderful. Really moves the air around. I live in a mobile home in NC and it gets hot and humid in the summer. This fan really helps my AC by circulating the air much better than box fans.

I have several health issues including breathing problems and this fan is a great help. Well worth the money.

I bought a Vornado Model CR1-0035 Type 285 ‘awhile back some’. I believe it to be very near the same specification as the, “783 Circulator B”. They look identical. I bought it for it’s intended purpose, to circulate air in my home.

Now I don’t live in a large house so it’s rarely on full blast however, it’s on ALL the time year round. Yes, we turn it off when we go on vacation but otherwise it is running 24/7 and only gets noticed if someone un plugged it when they vacuumed around it.

This year the motor has finally started to sound a bit tired and like most things today, it’s probably cheaper to replace than find a new set of motor brushes to fix it. Reflecting on the original purchase.

three houses, two kids, three cats, three dogs, and two wives ago, I realized this fan has been a dependable work horse for 15 years! I bought it 1999. I think you’d be hard pressed to find any appliance that will run non-stop for 15 years.

Unlike other reviewers, I don’t have anything to compare my fan with. I’ve only needed the one and it hasn’t crossed my mind until now. I sure hope they make ’em like they used to because selecting a replacement is a no-brainer.

I bought this fan just before Christmas as i have another vornado non pedestal fan that works great. Now the fan on this does everything it is supposed to- however the base is needlessly fickle and two of the five feet do not touch the floor.

The design of the base is that you sit the feet in side compartments and turn a knob on the bottom to tighten it… it is hard to make sure all feet stay sitting in their place while you tighten it, you get three in and the other two won’t fit so you have to undo it again and they all fall out.

I don’t know how this design got past blueprints, if it had a normal sturdy base this fan would get 5 stars. Can’t believe I paid over $200 for a fan with such a design fault.

The legs have never stayed on. I’m constantly having to unscrew the plastic bolt out then lay the fan down put legs back in trying to keep them from popping out as I’m confusing reassembling the floor legs and tighten this back in.

Now I’m down to leaning it on something to. prevent fall overs at night. Don’t want it to break totally, or new an electric a fire hazard. And all this , That defeats most of the fans purpose of total air flow being clear.

I didn’t get around to shipping it back in time, because I’d physically have to go stand in line at post office where I live. There are No mail returns from my apt complex and no FedEx or UPS in my town it’s more than 20 miles away.

We are in a virus pandemic. I’m a breast cancer and lymes patient. Scary to go out anywhere that requires you have to stand in line in public to return things that don’t work right !!!. Just informed this week my apartment complex of 60 has 4 quarantined renters with covid ( just great!!) Really wanted this product to be a succeed.

In all my years shopping with QVC I’ve only returned 3 items and been disappointed in less than 6 out of hundreds. I bought this based on the companies reputation. At 63 years of age , I’m not into buying anything that won’t last.

My apartment runs hot , located with large windows facing the South in addition. the cancer med I’m on messes with my hormones and causes excessive heat in my body and top that with having to wear a full face sleep apnea machine mask to breath while I sleep.

I have A. C. But need something to circulate the air in my bedroom. I live in the Midwest and don’t turn my thermostat on until it’s below zero outside , because it just stays hot in the apartment, I was so looking forward to gaining some physical relief from this fan, my objective was to have it standing right next to my king bed on the side I sleep on.

But because the legs don’t hold the fan up without coming out I have now leaned the circulator fan against a leg on a small trampoline I leaned against my closet doors so the back of the fan can still pull air through.

Believe me it took weeks to try different ways to get into a leaning on something not to fall and still blow towards me during sleep. If I move the fan to get in my closet I have to start all over fanagling, it to stand up again.

I just wanted something quiet ( which it is) not giant to fit in a path to my bed that stands up on its own ( that’s basic which it does not.

I bought the 533 model in 2020 from either Home Depot or Lowe’s. It worked well when I was using it during the warm weather months. All of a sudden, here we are September 2020 and the fan blades are having trouble getting started.

I’ve taken it apart once already to get to the motor to drop some oil it. Worked like new for 4 days, and on the 5th day, blades had trouble spinning upon turning fan on. I’m going to have to buy a new one again, if this keeps up.

I bought one of these from the closest best buy, and I made it home and put it together only to find it was not spinning on the inside. I returned it but they didn’t have others so I got my refund, and then found a fan on Amazon.

After receiving another fan broken from presumably shipping, I had to open RMA with Amazon and send it back and got the Honeywell Quietset again. I received it, it worked, but it had a loud humming noise up till level 5 and then it had a loud slight thumping noise.

I gave up and got a refund for it as well, but was told to keep it rather than sending it back. So I contacted Honeywell to give them feedback on this fan as I found out someone else had the same issue with this fan, with the intention of just giving them feedback, nothing else.

They actually sent me a new fan! I thought wow they are really trying to be helpful, and true to their word I got it a few days later. So I put it together, and the base wouldn’t completely fit together as it should but I was able to get it on and turned on the unit, to be met with the same motor and horrible vibration noise that the other one did! So, disappointed, I admitted defeat and just decided to see if I can get used to the nerve-wracking noise.

I turned it on to sleep, went to bed, and was able to fall asleep. I woke up in the middle of the night with a weird light “thumpthumpthumpthump” noise and i found out it only does it when it’s set straight up and on the floor.

This noise was way too much and I can’t sleep with it on. So now, I have two new Honeywell tower fans, AND NEITHER OF THEM IS USEFUL. Needless to say, I’m gonna have a hard time trusting Honeywell products for a while.

Their customer service, however, has been top-notch. It takes a while to get an answer from them (I used email) but when you do, they sincerely try to help. I just wish this product was as good as their willingness to help was.

I Recommend steering clear from this one and getting the comparable Lasko which I hear is quiet in a mode or two, or the Dreo. You are taking quite the gamble if you purchase this fan. Either that, Or the Tower fan gods are against me, and I’m extremely unlucky when it comes to this fan.

I’m not willing to spend any more money to find out.

I am currently looking to buy my third Honeywell Tower Fan. The first one was purchased 5 years ago and I loved it so much I kept moving it from room to room! It was so good that I purchased another one 2 years ago for our “great room” (floor to ceiling windows).

They are both still working beautifully! The 5 year old fan (8 speed) is now in my bedroom. I turn it on every night and push the timer button to 4. It runs for 4 hours and then shuts off. The little bit of noise that it makes is just enough to dull any sounds outside my bedroom (tv on downstairs, neighbours laughing in their yards, etc.

) I sleep so much better with it running than without it. It’s like white noise. And if I happen to get a little cool through the night, I reach for the remote (with my eyes still closed) and push the button that I need.

There’s only three buttons so it’s easy to feel which one I need; 1st button turns it on or off; 2nd button alters the speed; and the last button is to stop/start oscillating. Soooo easy!!!! You won’t be disappointed.

We bought this a year ago when our a/c did not keep the house cool in the Georgia summer. We now use it nightly during the warmer months to help us sleep. It has absolutely saved us! I was hesitant to get the $99 one since there are smaller models and our house is small, but it’s very nice to be able to use the lower, quieter settings sometimes.

On setting 1 or 2 in a 120-130sqft room, it is plenty effective and pleasantly quiet. I believe the claim that it makes the room feel 5 degrees cooler! It’s important to read the directions however – don’t treat it like a typical fan and try to point it right at you.

We put it on the floor and point it at the farthest opposite ceiling corner, and after a minute or so you can feel the air circulating anywhere in a small room. We also occasionally use it on a higher setting in our living room, which is more like 250 sqft; works great, though slightly louder.

Also, it’s straightforward to get the cover off and clean. I can’t recommend this fan enough. I wish I could take it everywhere I go!.

Did a lot of research on Vornado fans. now I understand what an air circulator is. Researched this Vornado 660 fan. Recommended on YouTube. Very happy with the 660. it is only on the 1st speed. There are 3 higher speeds to cool down my hot bedroom mid morning as the sun pours into the windows.

The air has gotten very cool in my currently warm, stuffy bedroom with 2 large windows facing the hot east morning sun. Cooler air from fan makes it easier for me to breathe since I have allergies. Air flow = gentle on speed 1.

Can definitely feel the air flowing around me, and blowing my hair a little. Gently whirring. Buying another one for my living room. Goal – to not turn on my a/c this summer, if possible. Giving this a 4 until I use it for a few weeks.

Thankfully, a very nice young man pulled this off the high shelf for me tonight just before closing. When it gets even hotter in Denver, I still have 3 higher speeds to use to circulate the extra hot sunny air in my bedroom.

That will be the real test tomorrow.

We had our air conditioning go out in our house. Ordered 3 of these fans to circulate air in the house till we can get it fixed. They do a great job and have helped us through some 95°+ days. Would definitely recommend these.

They are very quiet for their size, but the top speed is a bit noisier. But they really move the air and make the rooms comfortable.

Bought 2 of these fans, and so far they’ve been great. It’s fairly quiet on low, but the higher the speed, the louder it is but still tolerable. Having them both in the same room at once on high or medium is a bit much in regards to the noise level.

Just one does an effective job helping to cool a medium room, two cools it even faster. Only problem I’ve experienced so far is that the one fan will tilt up some when it’s on, particularly when on medium or high.

It’s not enough to cause a problem at this point, but it will make you stop and wonder what that clicking sound is. It was a little pricey, but overall a good investment for my family.

Love Honeywell fans and this one looks good, runs well and you can actually take the front cover off to clean the blades! The small ones don’t let you do that. I knocked off one star because when you adjust the fan it doesn’t “catch” fully, so sometimes the fan moves by itself a little up or down.

Irritant more than major issue. I bet I have 10 Honeywell fans easily, love that they run smoothly, quietly, even bought 3 of the small battery operated ones during a power outage last year mid summer and they helped.

Overall, would never buy any fan but honeywell !.

its not as cold as I’d hope. i moved into an apartment with very poor ventilation/ airflow. so for this reason the fan gets 4 stars because it really helps with that. I’ve tried using a high end a/c unit alone and it does keep the apartment cold but i still found myself sweaty and uncomfortable due to the lack of ventilation paired with this fan it keeps my whole 500sqft apt cool and breathable.

Very happy with purchase, fan really makes a big difference in circulating air and cooling room in a dead space between ceiling fans. It’s very quiet when running. Wish I’d bought it years earlier. Have only had for a week plus so cannot attest to the longevity or durability but hope that I can in the future.

I purchased during a discounted period, and I have not been disappointed. Summer snuck in before Spring is over, so this was a timely purchase. Three fans levels are working for me. The noise is quiet.

When the air is humid, I just wet a face cloth and pass it over my face, arms, and neck. It helps to cool me down.

I have had Lasko fans previously, my last one lasted for years. However, this fan was the worst. The adjustment for the height was not staying tight, the front grill was challenging to put on, and didn’t seem very secure.

When I plugged it in, the noise was so loud (even at the lowest speed) that there was no way to sleep in the same room with it or hear the television or voices over it. The blades wobbled, and I tightened it as much as I could.

Just bad design and bad quality all around. I will be returning it tomorrow, I didn’t even have it on for 5 minutes.

I had an older version of this model, which I loved. I had it for about 3 years until it began making an awful sound. I figured I would buy a new one since I loved the old one so much. The new ones are sub-par, at best.

The new “clam shell” design to put on the fan protecting grills is dumb. Having to put one inside the under, under “tabs”, is for 1, a pain, and 2, both of the new ones I had (I have since returned both) have not matched up correctly, leaving “Gaps” in the protector, and not being totally secure.

The older version I had, you clipped the front over the back. The newer ones, you clip the front under the back. Also, the main reason I hate the new fans is that they generate a high pitched sound when on medium/high.

This high pitched sound wouldn’t be so bad if it was consistent, but it is more akin to a haunting breeze. The high pitched sound isn’t always there but it comes and goes. It is rather distracting when trying to relax and sleep as you hear the whooshing of the fan, and then the high pitched sound comes in for a few seconds then goes away.

It is very distracting for me personally and has kept me from sleep. I would recommend not getting this fan. I wonder if the reason they are on sale now is because many people are returning them.

I got this little guy because my work office always gets hot (there are three guys in the room, we get the sunlight from the building opposite us and direct sunlight simultaneously). Each of them had a fan that they’d run during peak heat hours so I needed one.

This little guy has two speeds and I rarely need the higher one because the first is already pretty powerful. There were days I felt like I needed my jacket on because this baby made me feel so cold.

It’s a plug-in fan and the cord is pretty short, but it really does its job.

There’s something weird about this fan, I got it because i wanted something quieter and gentler for my bedroom when it’s hot and i am doing conference calls. It started off perfect, nice and quiet and produced a gentle breeze, at it’s name should imply.

However, After a couple hours, it started to get louder, and produced a stronger wind, sometimes it alternates between going fast and slow on its own, but it’s mostly just a normal 8-inch fan now. Also, it advertises 3 speeds: off, slow, and fast, and the fast setting is really loud and makes enough wind that you can feel it 30 feet away.

Not a breeze machine at all. I can not feel hardly any air flow from the unit even when i am right in front of it. I had a small fan that really was a “breeze machine” just not in name i wish i would have just bought the same kind brcause now i will still have to get one and i will throw this one out.

What a waste of money!!!! If i could post a short video i would and that video is me holding a lighter lit right in front of this pos and the fan doesn’t even blow out the lighter actually it barely moves the flame.

The fan is great and this brand is my favorite for fans. But, this model makes quite the clacking noise of the side hinges when adjusting position and direction of fan. My other fans I’ve had don’t seem to do that.

But I’m sure I will get used to it. Could be just too new and needs use. I do like the control on speeds positioned on top of the fan rather than behind. Really, no complaints except for the clacking.

But this doesn’t affect the quality of the fan. I would buy Lasko fans again and again.

It blows air fine. Has three speeds. Disappointed in the quality. I expected more metal parts like the fan blades…but the only difference I see in this and your standard cheap box fan is the outer box is metal instead of plastic.

Makes the fan heavier but, in my opinion not industrial grade but any stretch. If it wouldn’t have been on sale when I bought it, I’d probably return it. It works as it should just not worth more money than your discount department store box fans.

I have owned this fan for almost 48 hours. My first impression when I was unboxing the fan is “This is a cheap fan”. Lots of plastic pieces. The base is really wide and it is a plastic non-weighted base.

The back blade cover is plastic as well. The front is a metal cover that fits into slots on the plastic blade back cover. With that being said, I will say the fan does move some air. I read some reviews that said the fan was noisy.

This one makes only noises a running fan makes with no vibration or other weird noises. The 2 AAA batteries do not come for the remote, so you will need to have those on hand or pick them up. Lastly, I will say the fan does not seem like it is worth the $49 price tag, but more so like a $29 fan.

I am undecided if I am going to keep the fan, but if you choose to take yours back don’t forget the batteries. Oh, one last thing. The oscillating feature is manual. You will not be able to start and stop the oscillation of the fan with the remote.

This fan is easy to assemble and get the job done! I sleep very hot at night and even with the A/C turned on I have trouble sleeping in the warmer months. This fan is perfect! It keeps me cool and comfortable at night and has even saved me money on my electric bill because I no longer have to crank the A/C lower at night just to be able to sleep.

The fan is somewhat noisy on its highest setting but I can’t sleep without some white noise in the background and this does the trick! The added remote is quite nice as well. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable fan.

I bought this fan a few weeks ago because of it’s all-white, streamlined appearance, ease of assembly, and having three quiet settings. However, on mostly the high setting the motor vibrates and there is a rattling sound.

After disassembling the top part of the fan and checking for loose screws, I reassembled the top part of the fan, making sure everything was tight. Still there was a rattle at mostly the high setting.

I tried holding the sides of the fan while it was in operation while not interfering with the oscillation. That stopped the rattling. The cause of the rattling is the front grill not fitting snugly into the back grill.
