20 Best Floating Waterproof Phone Case (2023 Updated)

I just came back from Akumal Mexico where we swim gently with turtles. I purchased the Aquavalt because I am extremely nervous about losing data etc in my phone especially when away. I use this with my Lifeproof brand waters d shock case on my iPhone 8.

I just never trusted it alone. I was thinking both should do it. My phone is fine but I was disturbed that water did get inside the case no longer allowing me to work functions on my phone. As it turns it was just enough to trouble me yet my phone is safe.

The trouble was with the seal that didn’t lock tight as well as the Velcro thst would not lay flat and kept peeling away. Thanks for listening.

I was looking for case that would keep my phone dry AND float, not very many options out there that have both. But this one does. I tested it ahead of time with a paper towel and confirmed it didn’t leak.

Then first time in the water I tested it’s ability to float, works well with my iPhone 11 with it’s case on. However the only negative part is there’s only a small area on the clear plastic that works well with the touch screen (basically where the home button would be, except I don’t have on on my iPhone 11).

So it works to open the screen but then to select any of the apps I have to repeatedly tap on the screen until it eventually works. I mostly use my phone to take pictures when I’m in/near water, so I can easily open up the camera and take photos but the issue I have is flipping from the front camera to the rear one.

It takes forever to get it to finally switch because the button isn’t in the “easy to use” plastic part. But overall it does what it needs to, protects my phone from water.

No so happy with this product. Great that can hang around neck, but actually using the iphone not easy. Not sensitive enough to always pick up key strokes. Tempted to send it back. Frustrating having to hit the buttons many times to get it to feel the keystroke and sometimes not at all.

I’ve had other plastic waterproof cases that do not have this issue. Also not big enough to fit the iphone and it’s case it’s in. Have to take the case off to get it in the waterproof case.

My husband had an Amazon cheapy version and I had this case for our Hawaii vacation. His lanyard broke and his phone was not found. Get yourself one that floats like this and with a reliable lanyard and save yourself the hassle of having to get a new phone or losing vacation pics.

A wonderful case that I’ve used in both rivers and oceans – absolutely top notch. Enough room for my iPhone 13 Pro Max and my Mitsubishi keyless key fob! ❤️

Great product! Used it just once so far, yesterday, but it perfectly protected my iPhone while allowing me to take both pictures and videos without opening the case while paddleboarding. Perfectly clear pictures and videos right through the clear plastic case!!.

13 Pro fits snug. Pictures are clear and it is easy enough to handle inside of the pouch with the touchscreen. Used it for a lazy river and occasional beach splashes, performed great. Wrist strap feature is great and floats well.

It is a bit bulky, but you can’t do much about that.

Great for outdoor activities! Note that there are two sizes, if you have a large phone, select, not this one but the larger one! I had to replace this one with the larger!!! I have iPhone 13 Pro Max

This actually works. I tried it in the sink put my iPhone into it and submerged the case in water for a hour and not one bit of water got in. This is a excellent buy highly recommended this to anyone looking for a water proof case.

I have had one for a while so bought this one for my partner. They do exactly what they say, protect your phone from water. You can use the phone through the plastic but I take it out. Useful for kayaking worn, on the lanyard supplied, around neck.

Great bit of kit but check you get correct size!.

This is a good product. Haven’t completely submerge tested it in action, but it did very well in a test in the kitchen sink! Only downside is the way in which the case is attached to the sealing unit looks a little flimsy, and possibly vulnerable to a big, clumsy paddler like me.

So for keeping my phone safe and dry, this thing is a life saver! It DOES float as recommended and latches securely. Love that it’s not a lot of extra weight and isn’t too bulky. Glad for the wrist strap!The big downside was in how it reacted with my touch-screen.

Unfortunately when the device was underwater, the pressure kept the plastic window against the screen in such a way that my phone had a hard time registering my presses for photos and the like. It really only worked reliably for video – and even that I had to start above water THEN submerge my phone.

Other than that bit of technical issue though, it’s a great accessory for keeping my phone safe.

Perfect for the pool or the beach to keep smartphones dry and sand-free. While my iPhone 12 Pro Max fits (barely) with its Spiegen case on, I find it much easier to remove it. The hardest part is to remove the air bubbles between the screen and the case.

For this, what I found worked the best was to keep the top unsealed and dip the phone into the water all the way up to the top. The water pressure expels the air from the case, and you just have to close the tabs and complete the seal (I learn this method in sous vide cooking class!)Another issue is water can cause spurious motion detection on the screen, so you could end up launching random apps or worse, calling random people if you’re not careful.

The film is clear enough to allow taking great pictures from both sides, or do FaceTime video calls. Great cases.

Amazing product! I was thoroughly impressed with how easy to use it is and how functional my phone stays when it’s in the sleeve, I am able to do almost everything that I can normally do! As you can see in the photo, I used the user guide to test how effective it is (Since I needed my phone to take a picture) and the paper came out completely dry after fully submerging it in liquid.

I will definitely be taking this along with me to the beach and even on hikes, as the sleeve comes with a strap that can easily hook on to my backpack. Very satisfied!.

This waterproof zip pouch works very well. Great for outdoor recreational activities. I like that I can fit my phone and a few other small items in it at once. This couch is also extremely convenient because I can still work my smart phone right through the plastic.

The multiple zipper top is also easy to work. It gives me a lot of confidence that no water is going to seep in. It has been handy for family pool trips and kayaking.

As a sailor, I have gone thru a ridiculous array of waterproof iphone carriers, and while most of them manage to keep out water, they have uniformly been a royal pain to actually use. You have to remove your regular case each time, and then invest in another when you get a different phone.

Or deal with the sticky difficulty of getting the encased iPhone in and out of a waterproof envelope. Or deal with an annoyingly oversized pouch hanging round your neck interfering with every move you make.

Just large enough to fit an array of iphone sizes, with a band to keep the phone from shifting, smartly with some depth to it also for a roomy fit without keeping the phone in a death grip, a small stretchy inner pocket to keep money or a card from moving around and blocking your camera at the wrong moment, and a secure zipper instead of those insanely awful twist lock, or easy-to-fatally-seal-incompletely zip lock closures.

The lanyard is adjustable and soft on the neck, and removable. This just may finally be the perfect case. At last.

I got this phone case as a gift and I love it. It protects my Iphone as I am kayaking or beaching. It keeps the water and sand off my phone. However, what makes it really great is that I can scroll and take pictures without removing my phone from the case.

Also there is a slot for my license and a credit card and the zipper seals the case perfectly. I love it so much I gifted two cases to friends. Great case and my Iphone 13 Pro fits perfectly.

I bought this to protect my phone while caving. It did protect my phone and kept it dry but the zipper is clearly designed for non-dirty environments. The sand and silt from the underground environment destroyed the zipper groove and it is permanently closed now, luckily without my phone inside.

If your environment is different then you might enjoy more longevity out of this product.

Kept my cell phone bone dry on a kayaking trip with several submersions. Only drawback was it was very tight getting my samsung galaxy s21 in there with the case on it. Had to lube up the sides to get it to slide in enough to get the zipper closed.

Other than that lights out completely waterproof and too great pictures through the really clear plastic.

Initially difficult to get open, keeps phone dry. Picture quality is okay, difficult to get low light shots, fine for outdoor shots. Fairly easy to keep clean, but wish it included a cleaning solution and rag.

I did not try for underwater pictures, so can’t comment on that.

I tested this (before using it in a real-life situation) by placing toilet paper inside, sealing it up, and letting it sit at the bottom of a sink full of water for a few hours. When I pulled out the toilet paper afterwards, it was completely dry.

Sealing the pouch is super simple and easy, and it is touch screen friendly.

Great idea but this item is not durable & my 6″ phone barely fits in it. I have to struggle n force my brand new 6″ phone in it n even harder to remove it. And since it does not have a hole on bottom for charger I must open n remove phone every day n insert phone again n you can tell w so many trys it’s going to tear.

Great idea but I am very sorry this is NOT durable material & DEFINITELY NOT WORTH $10 sorry.

This is a great product and I bought 2 of them. We took them underwater to take great photos and so we could keep cash dry. It will fit my Note 4 and then some. I would buy more but I only have 2 phones.

No real cons.

This case did keep my phone completely dry, I liked that there was ample space for devices of varying sizes, and it mostly worked for still accessing the device through the plastic. My biggest complaint was the lanyard clip kept coming apart around my neck.

Wish it would have something besides that cheap snap system – solid band, another clip like the one holding onto the bag, lobster clip really anything because it does no good falling off repeatedly.

I got this to be able to take my phone with me paddling without stressing. Realized it is also great for using around the house when I am doing yardwork. I can set my phone near me and not worry about rain or splashed around the pool.

Why didn’t I get this earlier?.

The phone protector is actually very good. However, I didn’t even get a chance to use it as when I first put it on with my phone inside the lanyard clasp broke. Unable to fix. What a waste and now have to go buy a new lanyard in order to use.

First of all, when I received the cases, they were cloudy and dirty, not clear at all. The case worked perfectly as a cards/money holder while I was in the water. However, it didn’t work as a waterproof camera case because I couldn’t press the buttons of my phone in the water and whatever I took was blurry.

I had no idea what I was taking in the water as I couldn’t see anything on my phone screen through the cloudy case. I got my husband another Ariza waterproof case and he experienced exactly the same thing.

I have had too many phones go down because of my hot tub. Every few months I forget my phone is in my pocket and its too late! The other issue I have is trying to look at my phone while in the hot tub, its so hard to keep it dry etc.

Finally I decided to buy one of these protective devices. There are so many on the market I died on this one because of the price. I am 100% satisfied, you can even use the phone while its in the case, send texts, check emails etc.

The materials are high quality and its well made too. I have no problem recommending this product which will actually help you.

I have used overboard for years to protect my phone from water damage while bathing. I use a wheelchair for mobility, but need extra protection from a hard case for everyday use. The new case I have is smaller than the Lifeproof case I used before so I was sure it would fit, but it will not fit in the overboard case.

I guess I should have ordered a larger size. Love that I can suspend it on my tub lift & still use the phone. Lesson learned. ?? Good product that I have recommended to several patients @ the rehab facility that I use.

Leaked first time I used it leaving me to replace my mobile phone. Glad I was insured. Am sure theres better products out there. I won’t be risking it again.

This was difficult to open which could be a good thing or bad thing depending on your perspective. My main draw back is it would not fit my Galaxy S5 a larger smartphone like the iPhone 6. I would send it back but it’s too much trouble so I will probably just give to a friend.

Great instructions to follow, tested as recommended and I am pleased to say that it worked as described. We submerged the waterproof case in a bowl of water for 3 minutes with a tissue inside and this was dry after as expected.

The carry strap will be useful. I brought this to protect my phone from water or sand on the beach but my husband pointed out this product can be used to put the phone in to take photos under the water which will be a bonus.

Phone stayed perfectly dry. Great product and great value for money.

I have had this aquapac for about a year now and use it when I am by the lake for those splashes and maybe being caught in the rain on the dock. We have also used it while camping, fishing, and kayaking.

Yesterday, while transferring into my kayaking, I dropped the aquapac with my iPhone in it into the lake off the dock. After 5 minutes of searching the lake bottom, I found it 7 feet down. I took it to land and was pleased to find that my phone took on no water and still works perfectly! Definitely worth the money.

We will be getting a second one for my wife.

This is one of those products in which you didn’t realize what you were missing until you have it! I used to bring plastic baggies or several grocery bags in my beach and pool bag to try and keep water off of my phone.

This little pouch is amazing to just put your phone in and not worry when doing anything around the water! It fits my phone great with some to spare. I plan on putting a few bucks and hotel key in with the phone on vacation.

It’s durable and a good quality product, no issues with it at all. Highly recommend!.

This really is a fantastic product. I bought a very old model for an iPhone6 that has been collecting dust, but they have new models that fit newer phones. The combo of this case and my 6 is now my grab and go snorkeling camera.

The only problem with their system has nothing to do with the case itself. And, I believe it is probably a limitation of the iPhone. It would be *really* nice if you could set the white balance to a static setting instead of have it always be on auto.

I doubt that the app you must use that allows you to take pictures using the volume buttons will ever allow that, but it would make videos much, much better in that the colors would stay consistent when the lighting changes.

That being said, A++ on the case. It will never fully replace a higher-end case and camera that gives you full manual control, but it does exactly what it says it will and is very well made and durable.

This is by FAR the best underwater housing unit for a phone! I take all my pictures with my iPhone and live basically at the beach. I love having my phone protected from the sand, salt and what better is I can take incredible pictures and post them to Instagram immediately.

The best part is being able to use the touch screen with the ProShotCase on. We take it on the boat, in the pool, to the beach, snowboarding. I love the floating grip too!.

It looks good, It arrived in a few days, I haven’t tried it in the water, as at the moment I have no intention of using it underwater. It has the camera and screen protected, now I will have to know over time whether it works with accidental drops.

I bought this bag to do water activities and I wasn’t sure it will work. It’s very user-friendly and plus you can take pictures and talk while your phone is inside. Well, I went to do kayak on July 10 2021 and I put my iPhone inside this waterproof bag.

Unfortunately I felt to the river and I lost my phone. 21 days after I received a call of someone that found my phone at the bottom of the same river. For my surprise the bag was perfect and the phone was functional with no crashes and dried.

For 3 weeks my phone was at the bottom of a river and thanks to this bag the phone was fully functional and dried and still with 12% of battery. Btw, my only negative comment is that the tiny thing to hang it is not that strong and can break easily as it happen with mine.

But still I am giving the highest rate because it works and it was more than proved. Thank you so much to the designers and Decathlon.

Can’t activate the shuttle button underwater possible pressure. Used self timer mode instead it works. Kind of tight to fit my OPPO Reno 4 pro. Takes reasonably good photos underwater!! We went Kayak last week and bought FLOATING CORD FOR WATERPROOF POUCH, KEYS, SPORTS CAMERA OR TELEPHONE together with this to avoid any loss on the mobile. However, the pouch got loosened still at the end and we still keep the cord and the grey part of the pouch, and we cannot find the phone and the pouch back in the end.

This is our first time to use this product and We feel disappointed with this product as we bought this to secure the phone from getting wet and sink into the sea. Please advise any follow up on this.
