Best Flight Simulator For Ps4 (2026 Updated)

I bought an open-box version, which includes some risks. The device appeared to be in good condition when I received it and seemed to work fine for a few weeks. But, then the X-axis sensor became flaky and was constantly giving invalid, continuously changing values even when the joystick was completely stationary.

If you google this joystick, you’ll find that this is a fairly common failure. By the time I realized the issue and took action, it was too late to return it to Best Buy, so I had to file a warranty claim with the manufacturer.

That process was relatively painless and they shipped it quickly (from France!). I got a replacement within about a week of filing my warranty claim. The new stick is working great so far. I use it on PC for Microsoft Flight Simulator and it has a good assortment of controls for that game.

I’d say that the only issue that I have is the throttle control. It has a notch/stop at 50% that makes it challenging to make smooth changes right around the midpoint. But you get used to that. Also, it seems a bit loose.

If you set it to ~85% throttle and release it, it will sometimes fall forward to 100% due to its own weight.

I like these pedals for their quality and the ease of setup. Tension is normal and there is accurate positioning (when calibrated). They don’t rattle around and stay fixed to carpet (for me). TM in general makes really good products IMHO.

However, the pedals are too close together for me. Like many, I do not sit at a desk with my knees together. When I fly an aircraft IRL, my legs are apart, with my feet resting on well spaced rudder pedals.

These are not. They are tight together so that they may also function as driving pedals (which I do not utilize). So if you are looking for flying pedals only, understand they are close together, in a way I find uncomfortable.

I’m sure I could get used to it. But I would rather not. Otherwise, they are pretty good and my son’s setup has been functional for some time (he sim drives a lot).

The graphics aren’t the very best but that doesn’t mean that they are bad. I liked this game a lot. Helicopter sims are more difficult to fly than aeroplanes and it’s a challenge even on the easiest level.

The audio is very good as well. Helicopters are so difficult to fly, the game was a good buy.

It’s a fun game to play, however trying to fly, aim, & shoot the enemy is quite the challenge. The missiles don’t have any locking capability so firing usually means missing.

The graphic are pretty good and it looks like it will take a bit of time to master the flight controls

A good step up from using just a wheel stand, and desk clamps for HOTAS/Throttle. Would have been nice to have the ability to lean the seat back more as I use a VR headset with a strap that protrudes out which hits the headrest (feels like wearing a helmet) Construction is pretty solid, slight difficulty putting together as some parts have tight tolerance.

Very little play with connected wheel (G27) little play with HOTAS/Throttle. Pedals are solid. Doesn’t fold as compact as I’d like but there’s only so much it can fold I guess.

B&H service was very god as usual. I chose this product because it is portable and it can be used for flight or race. I have just tried it for car racing for now. The product itself is very good and more solid than I expected for a lite version.

The only complain is about the assembly. Not complicated but the paper manual is not very intuitive. There was a YouTube video but this is not my thing.

They said this is as real as it gets and that is so true. When you open the learn how to fly you are actually with a flight instructor who will teach you several things about the craft you are flying.

The instructor will fly the craft and explain things to you then at the proper time turn the controls over to you. Very exciting and loads of fun.

While this game is a few years old, you can not beat the value it still offers for the price. If you are interested in flying at all then this is a must have game. I really don’t want to call it a game, it is really more like flying instructions at a fraction of the cost you would pay for the real lessons.

Graphics are great, many, many airports to choose from, plus many different aircraft. For $10 bucks you can’t go wrong.

Graphics are Wii quality. Ocean level seems to change as you cross to another area but. In simulation mode it is a very good simulator. If you want to fly a microlight, start here 🙂 Very accutrate and responsive controls.

This exciting simulator enthrals me for hours. I can actually pilot a choice of realistic aircraft (fly in real time) to airports in any country of the world! FSX has a feature to record and re-play the last minutes of my flights (including landings) from many different camera angles.

Sometimes, when flying I keep open a map-window that shows the location my plane (in real-time) in relation to the ground. While I am ‘sitting’ in the cockpit, FSX also allows me to change my eye-point and move the direction of view from left to right and up or down, simply by operating the directional, hat-switch or button (on joystick) during flight.

This allows me to ‘look’ out of the cockpit window at nearby airports and landmarks as they pass by underneath. The huge range of free, add-on aircraft and scenery for FSX makes this flight simulator the best value for my Windows 10 computer, compared with all other flight simulators.

This is still true even when other Flight Sims have better graphics and resolution than FSX. Also, I have bought and installed various ORBX airports to make the buildings and scenery of those airports more realistic than the default ones on FSX.

I have also purchased some, excellent extra aeroplanes made by JustFlight. Also, I have downloaded many extra (free) aeroplanesfrom fly-away-simulation web site. their range of free add-ons for FSX Flight Simulator is enormous! Given that it is a 2008 version of Microsofts Flight Simulator, the FSX Gold edition has enormous computer-speed benefits compared with the regular, FSX Deluxe version.

I recommend that for modern computers (10 years old and later), that it is much better to install the updated, FSX ‘Gold’ version rather than the regular, ‘Deluxe’ version, because of the massive improvements.

The Gold version does not just include extra features and enhancements, but it is actually Microsofts official update that includes service packs that fix various software-bugs and design flaws that existed in the older, deluxe version.

The flight simulator it said will be working on multiple platforms. I tried W10 and XP. W10. It is working however from the begining you will have a feeling that not all functions works. And it is true.

Struggle to find how to start the game and throughout the game some features not accessible. However once installed on XP which I bought on eBay refurbished just for gaming, works well. Only changes are views through the windows.

Missing the view from position as your head and yourself would be seating on the pilot seat. You get very narrow picture on screen. So you constantly manipulating with controls to get view on something which in normal flight you would have.

So once you took off you would not be concentrated on only dashboard separately or on windows but you should get both. In simulator it seems like you not given that flexibility. Although in W10 this option seems better.

XP gives you feeling like you short sited. Controls are a discovery. Probably as in all games. I do not paly much so may be is normal. But many functions you have to find before take off. Confusing that it depend on the plane you select.

But I think the whole simulator is a game and for some probably that is the most interesting part. My expectations as I have gliding experience were more concentrated on flight rather than looking for buttons functions to discover.

Again something with tutorials not right. Not user friendly at all. No arrows pointing to the right functions if you struggle. And explanations where the exercise start and how to return not really there.

So all in all – it is a game. Do not regret buying.

FSX needs a fast CPU, it’s a 32bit program (old) and it won’t allow full use of CPUs cores and high RAM. Graphics are decent. For better graphics, don’t waste time and money with free add ons. Just get ORBX global and ORBX Vector and you’ll be set with a new better looking simulator.

A 5i or higher will do decent, but will never allow highest settings without serious FPS drop. ORBX has much better landclass, better scenery buildings, trees, etc. Accelerator version needs better computer hardware, do it’s not for everyone.

FSX is not like a regular computer game where you go walk, drive or fly in a set world or area. And that makes it CPU, RAM, and Graphics Card with more than 1GB memory intensive. With flying peripherals, it taxes your computer more.

Nevertheless, it’s worth it. FSX20 us coming out. Check it out.

This is a great game or simulator, I was addicted many years ago and I still like it. The downside is the company who sells or ‘operates’ the software now. As you may know already Microsoft abandoned this program a few years ago and it seems like Steam bought it and fix it so it could run in Windows 10.

I do have Windows 10 and it did run with out any problems, even when I rearely have time to play so I haven’t tested more than a few minutes at a time. The part I really don’t like is Steam, they force you to install their software, which seems very untrustworty.

Once installed it will run by itself everytime you open ANY web browser. I really don’t like that, as I have no idea why they need that program running when I am not running the Flight Simulator. I do not like programs that try to take over my computer or my Internet, and the whole process seems just shady practices.

Personally I stop Steam everytime it tries to run as I highly distrust this company. To me is like I hire a landscaper to do my yard and they do it for a low fee with the condition that a shady handy man will syat day and night seating on my porch.

This isn’t a game in the usual sense. It’s a simulation. So unless you are really into flying, in a realistic manner, it would probably be boring to you. On the other hand, it’s amazing to be able to fly out of an airport near your hometown, and fly over geography that you know.

You can even plug in rudder pedals and make all kinds of adjustments to add to the realism. It’s 10-15 years old, so various landmarks may not be up to date, but it works well with Windows 10, especially if you have an i7 computer, and even better if you have a graphics card.

I don’t have a graphics card myself, but the action is quite satisfactory to me. I know there are open source products out there, but it’s hard to beat this one for plug and play.

Brilliant retro action with up to the minute graphics. Best of both worlds with the switch as this can be played handheld or on the tv. Very challenging gameplay but well worth the effort.

Yes I like the game R-TYPE final it a good game and it better than the old R-TYPE final from PlayStation 2

Plays well, graphics are excellent on a 64 inch Sony TV. If you like World War Two games its very historically accurate. Good game all round

I have not enjoyed this game. The game is very average. It does not even have a story line, every mission you go to bomb someone (Ships, Bases). I liked the first game of this series more (Air Conflicts:Secret wars), at least the first game had a story line.

To be honest, if you think about buying it don’t buy this game. I bought it only because I’m fan of Aviation, and realized that I made a mistake. If you think about buying it, please avoid, or buy it only because of the cheap price.

If you are an Aviaton fan ( Like me), better buy an “Birds Of Steel”. Birds of Steel has better graphics and is a more realistic simulator. So I’m giving it only 3 stars. Thanks for reading.

My only disappointment is the carriers are backwards! When I take off the island (Bridge) in on the left, that is in correct! United States Carriers the island is on the right when planes take off! The only carriers in WWII that had their island on the left was the Japanese.

Other than that it is cool!.

This is a very entertaining arcade Star Wars space combat game. There is some depth to the game, as each star ship has their own strengths and unique capabilities, which is good for those interested in multiplayer.

For single campaign game players, it is neat having to pilot each ship for their specific missions. The single player campaign game is also really neat in having to play both the rebel and Imperial sides.

Being able to walk around the hangar and to the briefing room is also neat, as they did a good job in making the player feel like they are on the spaceship. The problem with this game is the horrible controls in trying to fly using the analog control sticks (L3 and R3 buttons).

The wonky controls make it difficult to chase or tail an opponent in the space dogfights. Also goofy is how the spaceships simply can throttle down to zero and come to a complete stop and u-turn, with doesn’t make any sense as the spacecraft all have forward thrust, not backwards thrust.

The controls and sudden stops makes the dogfighting really frustrating, especially since the Thrustmaster PS4 flight stick is out of stock. Having a flight stick would have made the flying experience much more enjoyable.

Being an arcade style game, some of the missions can be senseless tedious and frustrating. One mission is where one has to power slide, which is a neat trick, but doesn’t need to be used when playing the game.

Players waste their time trying to complete a senseless video game move. Another frustrating mission is trying to ambush a group of escaping rebel ships. The problem is that the arcade style targeting doesn’t clearly display the mines that will be used to ambush them.

The player has to frustratingly scramble to identify which ones and try to detonate them to complete the mission and the game. What is a big strength of this game is the VR mode. It is truly immersive and flying a tie and x-wing fighter in VR mode, the cockpits looked very real.

Unfortunately, the VR motion might make one motion sick. Unfortunately, I had to stop playing in VR due to motion sickness, but was still able to finish the campaign game in regular mode. Overall this is an entertaining game to play.

One can look on youtube for multiplayer games and how capture the flag/ destroying the opponent’s capital spaceship has evolved.

Fun game, but not super-easy to learn the controls. Still, once you get the hang of flying it’s pretty great! The story is nothing to write home about and can feel like it’s filler between missions, but exploring the starships is kind of cool, and there IS a story for both sides that you can watch play out while you’re trying to remember what the controls do.

Flying is complicated but feels natural and actually different depending on which ship you’re in–they have noticeably different speeds and styles for each ship, which is a really nice touch. Like most games it’s pretty short, but the replay factor is high–some of the missions you’ll want to play a few times for sure.

I’ve only played a bit of the multiplayer modes-while fun they still need some polish. The death match mode is pretty fun, but the fleet battle mode gets a little chaotic, and it’s pretty hard to get a whole team on the same page to complete objectives, though it is hugely satisfying on the occasions that you do complete objectives and work together.

I’m sure there are more maps and likely fighters/scenarios coming. The maps in the game now are very cool and well done–it looks and feels like Star Wars. If you want to feel like you’re battling in an X-Wing, Tie Fighter, etc, playing out some war time scenario in the Star Wars universe then you definitely want to play this game!.

Star Wars Squadrons has an uninspired and irritating single-player campaign. It’s Disney Star Wars now, of course, so if you weren’t a fan of the recent Star Wars movies you’ll find the more of the same bad writing and predictably annoying characters on display here.

There are a couple of good missions, but it only really serves as a tutorial to introduce you to each of the flyable ships. It is a shame though, since it is clear that a large part of the game’s budget has gone into this when it would have been much better spent on the game’s multiplayer.

The multiplayer is a different beast altogether. In VR, this is the ultimate Star Wars experience. Real Star Wars from back when Star Wars was awesome. The cockpits are breathtaking in their realism and the gameplay is pitch perfect.

It’s incredibly challenging, and so much fun! Without VR, this is a 6/10 game. The single-player campaign really lets it down. However, if you have PSVR and a HOTAS, then this is a 10/10 must-own game.

There really is nothing else like it on the Playstation.

This is the best version of the original ‘Flight Simulator’. While the graphics aren’t as state of the art as the current online version, it’s way better in that you can actually play it offline!, and, even better, (for those that are inclined, which is the reason I purchased this copy), is that it can be used in the software side of things for an actual flight sim! – (as in, the type that you can actually sit in!).

I was disappointed in that it would not run in Win 10 64 bit. I modified the execution file for Win 8, but still it would not let me register it. I had a Win 7 computer and it runs fine on it. Luckily I have a high end video card that does the graphics fine.

I also have an excellent joystick that has a throttle. Throttle is necessary.

Story campaign plays like levels, or in this case missions. The gameplay will test how good you are at completing objectives, you’ll want to pay attention most of the time, as radio chatter can give you an idea of what is happening at all times, some of these missions can be difficult if not prepared.

Thankfully there are checkpoints, and you can always return to the hanger to modify your plane. There are end mission rankings to keep you coming back to replay for better ranks. S-rank being highest.

If you just want to fly and not worry about a story, there is a Free Mode, great for quick sessions. Multiplayer: has a few rooms daily, but not too many players, only game modes available are TDM and FFA, has room options and host migration.

max players in a dog fight is 6v6, but you can start a match with just one other person, there is even private match if you care to only play with friends. Graphics are amazing, lots of details on the plane and most importantly the moment to moment visuals as you fly and across clouds, seas and deserts.

But please be aware, if you have history of motion sickness, skip this game. OTHER NOTES: there is flight stick support, but i have none so cant comment. There is VR missions, if you have PlayStation VR check it out!.

I hadn’t played an Ace Combat game since 4, 5, and Zero, so seeing Ace Combat 7 return to form after the “Assault Horizon” misstep I couldn’t be more pleased. It’s almost exactly like those entries I played 15 years ago~, story structure, music, briefing/debriefing, aircraft/special weapon loadouts, and most of the core game mechanics.

The additions that I’ve noticed are mostly in-game environmental weather effects that can affect how you control your aircraft. These range from thunderstorms, heavy winds, sandstorms, etc. Although this addition sounds amazing it will often lead to a lot of aggravation when on certain missions.

For example, in one mission you navigate your aircraft through canyon-like structures to get to a ground target. Hard enough for some people right? The structures don’t allow for much room to maneuver.

Now lets throw in some heavy winds that make your aircraft “drift” out of control and some heavy clouds to block your view a bit. Oh wait, now you have to take out flying targets before they take out your squadmates; catch, now you deal with heavy clouds, heavy winds, and thunderstorms all at once.

Lightning strikes disrupt your targeting and other essentials for several seconds/ clouds in general weaken your targeting and can make your aircraft freeze over and stall. I don’t want to get started with sandstorms or timed missions.

Overall, it’s an excellent Ace Combat game just with some annoyance from some of the new mechanics. If you enjoyed Ace Combat 4, 5, Zero, or 6 you’ll more than likely enjoy this as well.

The Ace Combat games are probably the most renowned flight games on consoles. They are very pick-up-playable with its arcade style gameplay given how your fighter jet can hold like 80 missiles. 7 continues this and despite the arcade gameplay, you can pull off some cool real life maneuvers if you’re skilled enough like the post stall maneuvers, cobra, and kulbit.

The melodramatic story and epic soundtrack by Keiki Kobayashi is still there. While the story isn’t as good as 5 was, it still serves it purpose of providing motivation and making you feel like a hero.

Moreover, it takes place in the fictional Strangereal so there’s some connection to the older games though not enough that newcomers won’t be lost. Graphically speaking the planes are very impressive and crisp.

Flying through clouds cause your screen to develop an ice effect, which also affects gameplay since missiles have a harder time tracking you through the clouds. I should mention that there are three playable VR missions that I highly recommend if you own a PSVR.

The immersion and added depth perception adds a lot. The graphics on VR aren’t quite as good as the regular game missions, but it’s still good enough to be impressive. I can’t recommend this game enough for fans of the series.

For new ones, it’s certainly not a bad starting point even if it’s the seventh game.
