Fascinating spinner with a continuous slow spin that is not heavy, but slowly sinks. The pulsing revolution of the blade is seemingly better than most spinners since you can vary this quite slow or fast, whereas most spinners must be retrieved quickly for the revolving blade to prove successful.

Be prepared that the small treble hook can be time consuming to unhook fish. And use only pliers not your fingers. It is a bit on the small side but anything that goes for this will definitely be hooked.

If you dont catch fish on Joe’s, theyre not biting!!! I took a 21 inch large mouth on a Joe’s first cast after hitting the waters with the standard bass lures. In fact wife and I both started using them with great results.

These are our goto lures on new water bodies with unknown specimens. Nailed a 14. 5 inch black crappie on them the following week. Be warned, withthe two hook combo you might want to use some tools to retrieve your fly cause theyre sharp and wont let go!!.

These things catch trout and panfish. They mKe bigger ones for bass also. They have stinger trebble hooks that act like a grappler hook locking your fish in place with the single hook. This is great for short striking fish esp timid panfish or cold weather trout.

I have been using them for about two or three years now. They are hard to find on the shelves, the Cricket color is best, all other colors are IFFY. Twitch the pole tip, and they go sideways and in a circle at the same time.

too bad the teeth of the fish you catch eats up the covering. I still used them until too much metal was showing. I even put Berkley power scent on them. Big fast action or slow, both work well.

These little things are quite amazing. I don’t know what kind of fish crack is used in these, but its high quality stuff. Big blues even suck these down. works on almost all types of fish. MY ONLY COMPLAINT.

The Atomic tube in grasshopper color is the best lure I have used for multi-species catches, period ! A real crappie killer that also works great for smallmouth bass and walleyes !

They Berkley Gulp 2” night crawler is an awesome bait! They don’t last long, maybe catch 2-3 fish max per bait. but first time I used one, i had fished the same area with crank bait & a 6” plastic lizard.

tied on the 2” crawler on a carolina rig, and Bam!! Decent sized Large mouth! Only bad part is bluegill with tap it hard also! So use a smaller sized hook, small enough for bluegill but strong enough to hook up to a large mouth! Only reason for not 5 stars is it doesn’t last long, & if u let it dry out it turns hard as a rock.

but definitely catches fish. tip, keep em in a cooler also helps , out of direct sun especially. good luck fishing!.

I use a double x tackle a-just-a-bubble see-through float, swivel, fluorocarbon leader and # 8 mosquito hook. I fill the float completely with water to use as a sinker, and part way to use as a float.

Wacky rig the baits. I use the floating version to fish bottom, and the sinking version to float on the surface. The one inch versions have worked the best for me. Awesome baits!.

Be careful when using these. You will have to fight the trout off as they come looking to get the rest of the pack. Use the first one on a slip bobber then just hold the pack up and they will jump in the boat.

Get extras because your friends will take them when they see how they work.

I was able to use these during the 2020/21 ice fishing season in Wyoming and Colorado. They performed perfectly and produced trout constantly. Rather we fished them still or with a lot of action on a jig head.

They simply put fish on the ice!.

On some tough days i’ve thrown this weightless and consistently caught fish. I also keep this rigged to throw when a fish short strikes another lure. They are only good for one or two fish before they rip though.

These have worked extremely well trolling for trout and also under a bobber. Rig them with on #6 hook and put a small propeller or small spin glow on top for a little extra action. The trout will sometimes kill it like a spinner and sometimes they will eat it like bait.

You catch catch 6-8 fish on the same bait.

Been using them for YEARS. Lot’s of big panfish, white bass. Big largemouth and smallmouth snap ’em up during cold fronts. Got a 20 pound carp on one with a cane pole. I fish for days with only these.

Put a dab of crazy glue between the jig head and plastic body, then a dab of glue where the hook exits the tail and you’ll spend more time catching fish, instead of adjusting the body. Trim the tentacles and claws if you need to fish deeper or faster.

Works well through the ice too. I haven’t bought a minnow or a waxworm in a few years now.

I first fished the pumpkin and chartreuse color nymph on a 1/16ths oz. grub head. I was consistently catching fish in a river in WV when others fishing with artificial grubs were just getting a few nibbles.

The sunfish and smallmouth would attack the legs and tail to the point where I was putting on a new nymph 2 to 3 times an hour. They love how it looks. I ordered more as I had used all of them on that trip and made a mistake and ordered the green/chartreuse color.

I took the new color to the same river in WV, same spots, and had similar success as last time. It was just over a month later, so the conditions were different, but it seemed like pumpkin/chartreuse did better for me.

Still, this is a fantastic lure for typical river variety of bass and panfish.

Good lure. Smooth casting. Comes with single hook as well as the trebles which is good as can only use trebles in lakes around here. A bit pricey so brings a tear when you lose one in the river.

I’m hard pressed to find a freshwater species besides carp that won’t hit this spinner. Walleye, Pike, large mouth, small mouth, gar, even had perch go for it. It’s probably the most versatile lure in my tacklebox.

I bought this lure from the advice of my brother. It was more expensive than the rooster tails but i thought I’d give it a try. I went on a weekend canoe/fishing trip down the elk river with 5 other friends.

We had our canoes on the bank and everyone had a line in fishing from the bank before we shoved off. BOOM!! I get the first fish, then another, then another. I caught three before we even shoved off and the guys were jealous that I had caught 3 before we even left.

I bought Joe’s Flies in the past and had good success with them. I purchased a few of this lure for trout fishing, knowing the other Joe’s Flies lures I used in the past were good, and I was amazed with the performance.

Having no luck fly fishing for the first day, I switched to my spinner rod. The water was a bit warm so I switched to this lure to allow me to be able to fish a little deeper. Over the 4 hours, I caught 15 trout.

A few months ago I purchased several of these lures in different colors, but never tied one on until this past weekend. That was after using other flies and lures and not getting a bite. Then on my first cast with one of these lures, bingo! Landed five or so nice trout in a row.

I’ve caught countless fish using these lures. Stocked trout, gills, crappie, bass and even landed a 4-5 pound channel cat with one. I prefer the 1/16 and 1/8 ounce sizes but I also keep some 1/4 ounce lures with me as well.

For the area where I fish I’ve found that the white, black and mealworm works the best for me. A bigger fish will bend these lures but I haven’t had one break. yet. I’ve been able to bend them back straight and continue using them.

This soft lure a proper killer for trout. Ive managed to catch this trout on my second cast. That was so cool and I didnt expected for anything like it. However, would be nice to have a least 3 lures in the pack instead of one.

Haven’t used it much but the times I have seemed to generate no interest. It could be other factors other than the lure but so far it just adds a nice option in the tackle box

I have caught fish on this lure every time I have used it. It is well-made, durable, wonderfully realistic and 1/10 ounce is just right for casting long distances on 4 lb or 6 lb line. I highly recommend it.

Been fishing Pistol Petes for 20 plus years. They are dynamite. Have caught fish everywhere I’ve used them. Here’s the tip; tie a small swivel at the end of the leader and your tippet to that. Keeps your tippet from ‘spinning up’ when retrieving and will not effect your casting.

Can easily cast with a fly rod or a spinning rod with a bubble or sinker. I purchased a whole range of colors for different water conditions.

These are very effective for trout in lakes or slow streams. I prefer the ones with a feathery tail, as you can impart a realistic swimming motion by stripping the fly in. That combined with the flash from the blade makes for an enticing presentation.

Think of it as an improved wooly bugger. It works fine on fly rods and spinning gear.

i have been fishing with beetle spins for years after years. the 1/2 ounce one’s are my favorite because i usually fish for large mouth bass. if it’s a slow fishing day you can usually always put one on and get some fish.

it has always been my go to through the years. i would like to see some of the original colors come back like the green with black stripes and yellow and i believe there was a purple. i have a outdoor shop and I’m starting to get people that never experience using one to try them out and bring back some of the good fishing i have always experienced using them.

i would rate them in the top 10 of the best fishing Lures made. i use the smaller ounce one’s for fishing for crappie and during the spring time they absolutely will hit it almost every cast. Thanks for still making one of the best Lures out there.

i bought this as a lure that was suggest for the farm pond that i fishing in Missouri. this worked great. i bought a few different colors, sizes for the trip. they worked great. we caught bluegills, crappie and bass.

i put some plastic bait on the jig portion. some of the scented bait. I will probably buy a few more.

The beetle spin has been a mainstay in my tacklebox for years. I recently bought a box dedicated to just beetle spins. Almost every time I go bass fishing I go through my regular arsenals of different lurers.

I can almost guarantee I will catch a fish with the beetle spin. Its a tries and true product.

I bought this to use for stocked pond trout, each color works in different conditions; primarily gold/copper tones when it’s cloudy and silver tones when it’s sunny. These are the first spinners I throw when I show up, and I rarely have to switch out for something different.

The fish always bite.

I discovered Panther Martins a few years back and swear by them now. The blade design is ideal for all speeds of retrieving, this blade will even turn as the lure drops. Color patterns all good though my most productive are yellow on black and red on yellow.

Wwter clarity and cloud cover will have big affect on selection. Trout, bass, pike the list goes on, I’ve caught them all with these.

I once pinched down the barbs on a 1/4 oz. gold spoon, black body, yellow spots PM, fishing in the Sierra Nevadas. Conditions were perfect, so I wanted to see how many trout I could catch in about a 1 1/2 mile stretch of stream.

The fish just hammered it. About 5 hours later I had caught 143 trout. mostly native. rainbows, Browns and some Brooke’s. It’s the only lure I use when trout fishing. 1/8 oz. when the water gets low.

Between the jointed and regular 2-3/4 flicker shad i may have all the colors. A few doubles as well, one is none and two is one. We have been using them for trolling trout. Work pretty good. A few different people have said replace the hooks.

I will get around to it. That is my only gripe, have lost a few fish so I will blame the lure not the angler. Good deal at $3-4.

I’ve used these side by side with the original flicker shad, and I think the original just works better. This works, it catches fish, it has the same reliable qualities of the original flicker shad, but I don’t think it works as well.

I keep a few in my box for the ‘just in case’ moment, but these are not my go to flicker shads. I feel like these catch more fishermen than fish. The action looks so good, and seeing your trolling rod pulse when this thing is in the water is so much fun, but it still never catches as many as an original flicker.

Was a the bait shop just lookin saw the purple fire tiger. said to myself as always if we’re a fish I’d hit that. next time out with my buddy started throwin it 2nd. Cast caught a smalll mouth. probably got 10 a missed few all day my buddy said get him 1 next out only lure we used all day crushed the smallies.

I’m brand new to fly fishing and I don’t know much about flies, but here’s my opinion. All of these are small dry flies, which is ok with me as a beginner. Some of them come apart a little too easily I think, but I’m not sure how much abuse a fly is supposed to take.

You get 50 of them, which is a good value considering that I’m losing quite a few of them due to improper casting and perhaps losing some in tall weeds behind me. Not keeping my cast high enough. Small fish have hit or pecked at all dozen of the flies I have used so far.

Mostly small bluegill and a couple small bass. 6 or 7 inches. So far, I’ve lost more flies than fish that I have caught.

This is a really good deal for $5. The flies themselves are nice, and at 20 cents apiece you can’t go wrong. And the case they come in is worth something all by itself. You don’t have to take the flies out and put them in some fly box, just grab them and go! The case is the perfect size for your vest pocket.

And when the flies are gone (hopefully after many catches!) you can use the case for other tiny tackle. Sure beats flies at $2 apiece!.

I purchased these online without ever seeing the product other than a picture. Came in relatively quick and item is exactly as described. Great looking flies and can’t wait to try them out in March for the early spring fly season!.

My go to for smallmouth bass for many years. It always spins unlike so many other brands. Hands down the best spinner on the market. Great product!

This is a great presentation for white bass during the spring run. I like the nickel color and I change out the hook to a red dressed one and it seems to just keep attracting fish year after year. This spinner has never stopped working for me.

same lure, same water, same time of the season and it keeps putting fish in the boat. This spinner with 6# line and a medium light spinning rod is a total riot when the big white bass hit. It makes for a fun day of fishing!.

I learned to use panther martins fishing for trout in New Mexico in the 70’s,by accident and I have used them since. I have caught every type of freshwater fish on them. I want to try them is saltwater someday soon.

I’m halfway through the book and have found it very useful. The book so far has covered: characteristics and habits of trout, how to read and approach the water, and covers the insects that trout eat and how to present flies.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who has less than a year of exposure to fly fishing. There a many pointers that I’ll be able to utilize on future trips and I’m sure they’ll be more productive.

This is a great book. I am somewhat new to fly fishing, but have been trout fishing since i was just a little kid (bait, lures). I am amazed by how much i learned from this book. Tom is a great teacher and clearly has a passion for the sport.

I bought the book because I enjoy reading books written by Tom Rosenbauer. I own his other book “Beginning Fly Fishing” which I thoroughly enjoyed. I would have enjoyed this book as much except I don’t like the way the book is presented, the text seems to be slightly smaller, book is not as durable and the book size is much too big for packing in a small bag.

If it would have been published in the same format as his “Beginning Fly Fishing” I would have given it 5 stars.

I went to Hagg lake in Oregon and fished near Boat Ramp A. There were 5 other fisherman fishing close to where I was fishing. I used half a crawler with a pink shrimp marsh mallow and caught my limit of trout (5) before noon.

The other 5 fisherman caught 1 fish. One fisherman caught 5 trout. Five fisherman caught 1 trout. You do the math!.

Used this bait a couple of times for about 12 hours total in a stocked pond and no trout yet. It looks and smells great but just not as good as Power Bait and mouse tails.

Cheaper replacement of the powerbait, and it works good for trout fishing.

It is at a great price for the serious fly tier like me. See because I am a “professional” fly tier which basically means that the only thing that I do is tying flies for a living. The Loon Outdoors UV Fly Finish had came to me last month and now I have to order another bottle of hot green.

I rate it 9 out of 10 for the price, size and mailing service. Like what I had said since I will be needing another bottle I better get back to work.

The FLOW does flow nicely and is easy to spread. My only hesitation on giving this a 5 star review is that is still cures a bit tacky and does not seem to matter how long you expose to UV light. I take my completed flies and put them out in the sun for some extra UV just to get everything as hard as possible.

I purchased the Loon thin resin and the Togens UV light. The resin works great. It says thin but it’s not runny so you can be quite precise with it. Great for chironomids. The Togens light works well for setting the resin.

Good quality with a strong output. Can’t beat the price either.

If you don’t catch any fish on this, then they’re not biting. I caught 10 fish; 9 rainbow and 1 yellow perch today within 90 minutes. A fisherman introduced it to me several weeks ago and he was catching trout like it was no tomorrow.

I saw this lure had double hooks with a treble and was intrigued. Bought 2 this size, one with a gold plate and another with a silver plate. VERY FIRST cast with gold plate, hooked a rainbow. Guys left and right of me were not even getting a bite.

I tried to keep quite but it was hard when I caught a fish or got action every time I casted out. Started releasing the smaller ones. Guy to the left of me finally said “What are you doing?!” I gave him the silver one and he immediately got a hit.

Best lure ever!.

It is by far the best trout lure I have ever used. The 1/4 ounce size gives off the extra flash you need to bring on hits. I prefer the march brown and my brother likes the black gnat. We caught many citation trout with these lures and in many different situations.

Stained water, high water, but especially on sunny days. But the best part about the lure is even when you don’t catch a fish you can at least locate them. The amount of water that you can cover with these lures in a short amount of time is amazing.

Hooks and beads are probably the things I use the most from Togens. All of their other materials are good quality as well. I use a lot of them. Their service is great. Wonderful people to deal with. I’m looking forward to using the new barbless wet fly hooks this coming season.

Quality of hooks has been outstanding. Have yet to have one straighten out while hooked up. Delivery into the interior of BC has been great, even during fires and floods. Bought the new Orange magic brass beads, liking the colour.
