20 Best Flea Stuff For Cats (2023 Updated)

I have 5 cats- (long story) two of which are rag dolls with long hair. I noticed “flea dirt” in the bathroom sink when they would drink from the running faucet. I tried baths with dawn soap, flea shampoo- nothing worked.

So after doing research on this product, I opted to try it. I’m skeptical when using these types of products as I worry about adverse reactions. This stuff is incredible! It’s easy to apply- no adverse reactions- and best of all no more fleas!! There weren’t lots of fleas to begin with but neither did I want an infestation of them on the cats or in my house.

I continue to monitor the cats using a fine tooth comb- and nothing! Initially I saw a few dead fleas on their fur within the first day but nothing now! (It’s now been a few weeks) I will apply another treatment on them in a month just to keep any flea issue under control! I highly recommend this product!! Just an added bit of info- additionally used diatomaceous earth surrounding the outside of our pool cage as well as spraying the pavers within the pool cage with flea killing product.

Our cats do not go outside other than in the pool area. The combo treatment worked very well- I’m in Florida!.

This is the best over the counter flea medication we’ve found. We had multiple cats and dogs and a major flea infestation in our home. We tried every other over the counter flea product, including powders, sprays and bombs for our home.

Nothing worked effectively for years until we found Cheristin. It took several months to a year of applications but eventually we were completely flea free. It doesn’t work as great as prescription medications but it is definitely a more cost effective alternative if you have a lot of pets.

One of our cats has allergic dermatitis and nothing kept her from getting persistent sores on her body until our home was completely flea free. She hasn’t had any sores for a year. We stopped treating them eventually and they stayed flea free for a year until my daughter brought home a foster kitten with fleas so we just treated them again and it worked immediately.

If anyone lives in New Orleans you are aware that fleas down here are like the plague with clearly a physiology all their own. They always seem to develop resistance to even the most major tried and true (as well as more expensive) medications out there.

I had moved to NOLA from Chicago with my two kitties and quickly discovered the high ranking Revolution I had always used with great success in Chicago was doing squat!! I had tried at least 4 different brands/strengths via on line reviews until I got “educated” on the reality of NOLA fleas.

I bought this product after trying zodiac on my indoor kitty with no results at all. I had purchased and used a single dose and my kitty seemed relieved but only for about 3 days. I thought I must’ve but gotten the medicine on her good enough so I tried again it still didn’t with I applied exactly as directed and she was still scratching and biting no dead fleas were on the comb.

I am a very low income disabled senior I can’t afford these costly over the counter flea meds only to find they don’t work. I spent around$30 for this product and now am stuck with two months worth I don’t be able to use.

I also had to take her to the vet who advised me that these OTC flea products are only half strength of the Rx treatments and that my kitty has now a disease that is caused by fleas cashed bartonella and extensive and costly antibiotic treatments.

I can’t return for refund because I off course used one of the three month supply that was in the box. Andi don’t have a return label. I’m just disappointed so far at the OTC flea products I have purchased as I was hoping to find a good product that worked for my baby and for my budget.

Instead I ended up with two months of catego that will go unused and out this cost of this product 30$ and a large vet bill and Rx. They recommended chewy for the prescription but not to buy this product again.

I had to switch flea treatments because I moved states and the brand I had been using didn’t work on the flea population here. I really wanted to like this because of the pros, but it just doesn’t seem to last long enough for a monthly treatment.

Pros: 1) much easier to apply due to the long nozzle 2) although my cats didn’t like me applying the meds, they didn’t react to it once it was applied (they always tried to lick off other brands I have used) 3) it did kill fleas – after a few hours I found both dead fleas and ones that were obviously impacted by the chemicals Cons: 1) although the treatment killed fleas for a few hours, it didn’t last.

The next day I only found very tiny fleas, but within a few days, there were egg-laying adults that did not appear impacted by the treatment at all. They may have picked some up from the environment, but a treatment that is supposed to last a month should have killed them.

2) when applying the treatment, it felt like very little medication came out of the tube. I was unsure if I applied all of it or not. 3) the tip does start to leak once you puncture it – since I did this in a different room, I got chemicals on my fingers before I got it on the cats.

So, I don’t think my cat had a ‘true flea infestation’. but he did have fleas. I had been helping to care for some flea-infested stray cats and unfortunately, brought some fleas with me back home. I noticed them on my cats nose just a few days later.

I used capstar immediately and ordered the catego just to be sure we killed everything(!) So I was able to apply it within a few days of seeing the first fleas and likely there were not yet any larvae, etc.

My cat is indoor, so honestly I don’t usually have him on flea medication. My vet did convince me to put him on Revolution when I first adopted him, but he seemed really uncomfortable (at the back of his neck) for several days and all the hair fell off in the spot where I had applied it.

So that was it for Revolution. I was really relieved the catego did not cause any similar side effects and I haven’t seen any more fleas. So it does seem to do the job, at least on adult fleas as far as I can tell.

I started off using Hartz when I found and rescued a cat from outside. Our cat would stand there and keep licking his lips, you could tell the hartz brand was bothering him and he still had fleas. I tried this stuff and been using it for almost a year now and it works great, we live in florida, he has no reaction to it.

He goes outside by our screened in pool area, but he does not go in grass. He’s spends about half the day out on the lanai staring at birds and squirrels. 10 months later,, So far so good.

Kills fleas and discourages infestation. Such a relief to find generic Advantage flea treatment. The brand name stuff is expensive! The tubes are a little larger which makes it easier for me to handle.

I have used this product for several years for my Bengal Leopard cat and it seems to work very well. I purchase it for my daughter’s cat, as well. Both cats do not get any fleas if consistently apply it once per month during the hot season.

My pet doesn’t react as negatively when applying this product as he did with the previous companies. It seems less toxic. Very happy with the product and purchasing through Vet Rx Direct! < ^:^>.

I have a 15 year old house cat, and I recently moved. Unfortunately, I moved into a residence with dormant fleas. I felt like crap, because my baby got infested. She never experienced fleas before, and she was miserable.

Advantage II was almost $70. I found out about this generic, it was $30 plus dollars on Walmart, and roughly the same on PetSmart and Amazon. I tried eBay, and discovered it was cheaper. They literally got it to me in 3 days.

This is not a waste of your money. It really works within hours, not days or weeks.

First and foremost- this company saved my kitten’s lives. I live in a forest where fleas thrive, getting rid of them is next to impossible. My cat just gave birth to five beautiful kittens and sadly it didn’t take more than a couple of days before the problem became too big for flea combs and baths in dawn dishsoap.

I was at a complete loss, I didn’t know what to do. Every other product is too dangerous for kittens of that age- I took them to the vet and they couldn’t even provide me with a safe recommendation. This product really does work and fast. The only thing that I don’t like about this product is that the scent is really potent. I love the cedarwood scent. It’s really a pleasant scent the next day when it’s wore off a little.

It protects my babies from fleas and ticks and keeps them from itching and scratching. I love the fact that one bottle does dogs and cats and I’m not ordering a bunch of different products. This product works so good I’m thinking of buying the yard spray.

I hope Chewy gets the flea collar I’ve been seeing advertised by Wondercide. I’ll definitely order this product again just in a different scent.

Love this natural spray as an alternative to vet prescribed preventatives which are pesticides. It smell so good. It works for us as well as for our furbaby. No ticks on either one of us this year so far.

Last year both me and my pupper found tick on us, though my dog was on vet prescribed preventative at the time. Tick didn’t get a chance to embed on either of us however it was still an unpleasant experience.

After couple of months on the vet prescribed preventative my dog started having skin issues and vet told us to discontinue use of it. So I found this as an alternative for this year and I definitely recommend this to everyone I know now.

I bought this product when the vet recommended it for my 12 week old kitten because she is intolerant to the material that the Seresto collar is made from. It caused her skin to become a little red and irritated and itchy from the collar and the vet ruled out it wasn’t the active ingredients.

My other two cats do well with Seresto and this product has one of the 2 active ingredients as Seresto, Imidacloprid. The few days she was without any flea treatment, she had a few fleas on her that she came into contact with because we had someone come in to our home for a day or two that had a flea problem at their house.

Ever since we treated our kitten with the Advantage, there hasn’t been 1 sign of a flea and no scratching as well. It was easy to use also. We made sure we treated the house just in case but reading up on this product, the skin and hair they shed contains the Imidacloprid in it because it’s designed to get into the fatty layer of skin and distribute there and when they do shed, they shed the flea medicine in that skin and hair that get into the carpet and upholstery of your home and it further prevents fleas and flea eggs and flea larvae that way.

I noticed one single flea on my cat while brushing her. I checked the rest of her body, and she had zero signs of anymore fleas, flea poop, etc. I use to work in a pet grooming salon, so I know how to thoroughly check for fleas.

I have an indoor cat. I decided to be on the safe side and pick up some Advantage II for flea prevention. I remembered Advantage always worked better (over Frontline) for my clients back in my grooming salon days.

Instructions were clear. Application was easy. Leaves a greasy mark, but don’t worry that greasy residue goes away after 24 hours. So far no fleas on my cat! Whether because it really was one single flea that somehow got brought into the house or the Advantage prevented an infestation, I don’t know.

Regardless, better safe than sorry. Advantage is all I did for my cat (no bath, etc. ), as I didn’t feel other steps were necessary since she didn’t have an infestation. Please note that Advantage works best for PREVENTION.

If your cat actually has a flea infestation, please also give your cat a flea bath, consider giving your cat something that works right away like Capstar, vacuum your carpets, wash pet bedding, and then give Advantage for further prevention (pre-emerged adult fleas can live without a host for over 100 days).

A few years ago, I had a HORRIBLE infestation. Here’s what got the problem SOLVED after trying numerous products and being unsuccessful. I’ve always known about Capstar and have sworn by it, it’s definitely a necessity.

I’ve tried all the flea medications out there and if you can’t afford the expensive ones, this is the BEST affordable one out there! STEP #1: CAPSTAR (pill) is good for killing the LIVE fleas on your pets.

They’ll bite them excessively and all be dead within an hour! It’s kind of amazing (and sad) to watch happen. Your pet will be going bonkers as it’s happening. but then to see them rest without biting- it’s worth it.

I personally love this product and use it first before applying the topical flea treatment. You HAVE to follow up if you’re seeing fleas. You got the live ones on their body with this. but that doesn’t stop them from getting back onto your pet from the carpet, areas where they lay, or once they hatch.

STEP #2: Advantage II is a good topical treatment that kills both flea & tick. This includes adult fleas, flea larvae and flea eggs as well. (most topicals don’t get larvae/eggs, just adult fleas). Capstar and Advantage II go hand in hand.

Capstar kills all the LIVE fleas on their body, then you apply the Advantage II, that prevents them from getting back on their body! Capstar is safe to give daily, but I’ve never needed to give it more than once- twice when it was a horrible infestation I did it 2 days in a row just to make sure they were all gone.

Now what about the carpet/pet areas?! (continue reading!) STEP #3: RAID Flea Carpet & Room Spray (Purple Can). This stuff is AMAZING as a spray for the carpet, or you can even get the foggers if you want to bomb the house.

It’s really not necessary, this stuff works so good. The final step after I’ve done the Capstar and Advantage II. I vacuum REALLY GOOD, then spray each room that has carpet/they go in, with this RAID Flea Carpet & Room Spray.

Again, it’s the only thing that worked for me when we had an OUT OF CONTROL, fleas biting our ankles every time our feet hit the ground, issue. ONE TIME using this and they were GONE. I really hope this review helps someone, because I spent HOURS reading and reading and reading trying to find the perfect solution.

Fleas are always bad in the summer but this year it has been much worse. The weather has not helped and we have 3 four month old kittens and 2 adult cats so I knew I was going to need something besides DE.

My daughter has been using a topical treatment for her dogs (with good results) but I don’t feel comfortable using the topical on the younger ones and I had seen the advertisement on TV. Chewy was offering a discount for the first order of this product and once I determined that no prescription was required, I ordered enough to treat my indoor kitties twice (just in case it didn’t work as well as it said it would the first time).

Well, I was pleasantly surprised when I checked them later in the day and discovered they had NO FLEAS! It worked so well, I decided to treat my outdoor cats too and it worked just as well on them! One of my adult cats has flea allergy dermatitis and her skin is even clearing up now.

Very satisfied with this item.

We just adopted a kitten that we found to be covered in fleas. We tried everything to get rid of them, but most products were for 7 months and older. I finally came across this product and I was so thankful it was for kittens as well as larger animals.

No joke 30min after the dose the fleas fell off. Most of them had died while we combed the rest out with a flea comb. You could tell the ones that were still alive were starting to slowly die. One thing to note is this IS NOT preventative treatment.

This is for live fleas you need to get rid of NOW. You need to also put preventative flea medication (I. e. flea collar or frontline) to prevent re-infestation. The adult fleas probably laid eggs already and you will need frontline to keep those away.

Also use flea spray on blankets and couches etc. if you are struggling and a bath for your cat is not an option please get this!!.

This is an excellent product! If you cats go outside, feed them the pill then put them outside for an hour or so. That way the fleas drop off outside and not in your house. If you have strictly indoor cats, after you feed them the pill then isolate them to one room, so fleas are not jumping off all over your house.

For those that gave a one-star review, you have to understand that you have to vacuum your floors almost daily for two weeks to get up flea eggs before they hatch and re-infect your pets. And don’t forget to empty the vac bag after you vacuum because fleas can get out of the vacuum cleaner.

CAPSTAR works perfectly. It will cause fleas to leave your cat within an hour, however you have to do additional steps to get rid of fleas from your home like vacuuming and wash pet beds and people bedding.

I saw signs of fleas on my cat so I ordered Advantage II & applied it immediately. This is the first time I’ve used it & I was not impressed from the start. I squeezed it onto my cat’s skin at base of skull as instructed.

That part of his fur stayed wet & greasy for days. The smell was very strong & I was concerned about him ingesting it. Several days passed & he was still over-grooming & scratching like a maniac. He was actually hurting himself, creating scabs all over.

After a week I wondered if he had allergies & took him to the vet. His doctor said he Still Had FLEAS & wrote a script for Revolution Plus. Obviously, the Advantage didn’t do squat. I take my 2 cats outside on leashes & harnesses.

They are always supervised. Please don’t let your cat run free. It drastically lowers their lifespan. House cats are also vicious hunters & are responsible for the extinction of at least 63 species of birds, mammals & reptiles.

I seriously didn’t even want to give it one star. It should be illegal for companies like this to give false advertisement. It clearly says it will kill fleas. And not only that but it can be pretty pricey when you have mote than one cat.

I’ve tried Advantage Frontline multiple times now thinking it could of possibly been a bad batch or whatever. But nope each every time I tried it I was let down again again bc my cats still had fleas a day or even a week after application.

And It’s not bc they were ingested bc they weren’t nor was my house infested. I actually know of several individuals that have experienced this same issue. If your product isn’t that good then please stop charging so much for it.

Yes it does work but you have to understand HOW. I’ve seen plenty of negative reviews stating it doesn’t work after a a few days, a week or more, which shows people don’t read instructions or know how a product works.

This pill is only effective for 18-24 hours. You still have fleas and flea eggs in your home, in rugs, carpet, your bedding, on your furniture or pet bedding, anywhere your pet lays or sits where fleas can jump and lay eggs.

This product only kills the adults fleas that live on the pet and bite, the larvae or eggs will hatch and bite after the pill has stopped working. So you need to keep giving the animals these pills daily for an extended time or switch to a topical treatment to continue the process of killing off the fleas that attach and bite after the pill stops working.

Also you need to vacuum and wash bedding or find flea and egg killing cleaners and sprays to use around your home to prevent the fleas from continuing their life cycle and coming back. So yes this pill works but it’s not meant to be a long term fix for an infestation of fleas in your home or on your pet(s).

They changed the name of this. I swear it used to be FastCaps and cost $15 less. Now they want you to pay $25 and they don’t guarantee that you’ll be flea free longer than a week. They do work right away.

Within 5 minutes my cats were going crazy itching because the fleas were going nuts. But fleas came back after a week. My dog is on Bravecto, which last three months. He was getting an occasional flea on his face every day or so.

He was still itching like mad the first month. I don’t know if the Bravecto was 10% effective or not. It could that he reinvested the cats. My point is this is very expensive for a treatment that isn’t long lasting.

They could become reinstated. I have three cats so it’s only good for two treatments. The box even says you can give them a second pill as soon as the next day. So how long lasting are these pills really? When they used to be $10 I was okay with that.

Not anymore since the price increase. I’m looking for alternatives. I’m leaning towards the natural line of bath products and sprays that won’t harm my skin or my kids.

We used these for one of our feral friends who started exhibiting bald spots, possibly from fleas. Because we can’t get close to administer Advantage this oral medication was perfect. We put it in wet food and he ate it quickly, unlike some pills where cats eat around, spit out, etc.

We hope to see improvements in his bald spots over the next two weeks. This is also great because you can administer back to back, with no 30-day wait in between.

This is not the first time I have bought from this company. Over the past year and a half, we have almost completely got rid of this problem with fleas. I do not like to use liquid products, as I am sensitive to chemicals and I have a strong allergy to it.

Therefore, the collar is our salvation. My dogs are of different ages, and one who is older has a bald spot, our veterinarian said that it could be due to local flea medicines. In addition, the collar has fewer contraindications than a liquid remedy.

Tried everything for my cats before finally buying frontline. One of the outdoor cats brought in fleas to my inside babies. Do to the price I tried everything else before giving this a shot. Vacuuming daily, washing couch cushions and bedding on hot, bagging up clothes, other brand drops, capstar (which worked but not long term), collars, bombing, flea baths, and dawn baths.

Nothing seemed to work and the fleas would be back full force. For the price I should have just got frontline considering I spent at least 300$ trying to get rid of these pests. Now what I learned from this horrible experience was that nothing can make them go away over night.

Even with intensive cleaning weekly they still can hatch in the home and hop on them… BUT!! frontline will kill the fleas that newly hop on in 24 hrs. I have seen the numbers drop drastically, considering they didn’t have a crazy amount on them to begin with.

Now the few hitchhiking fleas I spot are moving slow and easy to get off the babies. This experience has drained me physically and mentally. But honestly it can take months to fully rid of them. In the mean time spray your bedding daily, wash cushions and bedding weekly, vaccuum every other day.

And apply frontline monthly. Slowly the numbers will start to drop more and more!! Keep on and remember be patient!!!.

Our cat has had terrible itching and sores all over her since she was born. She is almost 17 now. We have had multiple testing done and found she had lots of allergies, but mostly to things outside, such as pine, grasses and severe high allergy to flea saliva.

We have always used Advantage Plus as recommended by our vet and Sofie has always been an indoor cat. She still had the problem of scratching constantly, chewing, pulling out her hair and sores everywhere, but worse around her tail and hip area.

I read up on chewing lice and though supposedly it is only contracted from other cats, I determined this is what she had. Frontline is the only topical flea control that will kill chewing lice also. We’ve used it for 6 months now and no itching, scratching, chewing and sores! We are both happy! Highly recommend and price was $10 cheaper than our local pet store.

My cat is probably a little over 4 years old. We started using Frontline around a year and a half ago, and that first year, we thought we’d found the magic weapon for fleas & ticks. Never seen one on her, ever, until this last 6 months order.

It may work okay for the first week immediately after application, but after that time span, I pull fleas from my girl on a daily basis. Nippy is an inside/outside cat, she loves the farm, there’s no keeping her inside.

She was an outside girl when she came here so being outdoors is her enjoyment in life. I will say, this formula has always took care of ticks, and that’s good, but it’s a flea product, too, and fleas absolutely take over in no time.

I am not happy with Frontline anymore & I seriously doubt I’ll shell out another 60 bucks for a product that does half its duty. Guess I’ll be going to the vet for these meds now.

My 3 cats all had reactions shortly after having the product applied; probably from the fleas own reactions! They quieted down after a while and then slept peacefully. Most likely the best sleep they had in a couple weeks.

I have been using Frontline for flea and tick control on my cats, but this past year we had a huge flea infestation and treating with Frontline didn’t seem to work. My vet advised me to try Vectra and so we did.

After using this product the flea problem went away. I will continue using this product.

My cat wore calming collars same material, same kind of collar as this one occasionally as a kitten, so I figured his neck area and overall skin would be OK with this kind of collar. And I was correct.

This, seriously, turned out to be the most effective flea product for cats I could find without resorting to a vet. First, understand when getting rid of fleas in your home, it will take a couple weeks.

Involves treating the cat and all the carpets, beds, cat trees, curtains, etc. I initially got Capstar oral tablet and Advantage II together. Stopped working after a couple days, fleas returned on him in full force.

I then tried a flea spray, which killed them on contact but made the cat avoid anything that was sprayed. He ended up sleeping in the furthest corner, on hardwood floor, since the spray was so unpleasant for him.

At this time, he had two different oral tablets, Advantage II, and this leave-in spray all on him/in his system and there were STILL fleas. Enter this flea collar. Per reviews, I checked to make sure it wasnt a fake.

It was easy to put on the cat. I was very, very observant the first 24 hours and constantly checked his neck. Not liking to wear anything, of course cat was a little uncomfortable the first couple days and scratched at the collar often, tried to rub it off using the wall or doors, but this thing WORKS.

And works WELL. I highly recommend getting a flea comb when treating for fleas. It caught and removed basically all fleas when combed thoroughly. I used this as a measuring tool for how many fleas were still left/alive as each day passed, and it eventually dwindled down to nada.

Its been about a week now with no allergic reaction and we are all finally flea-free. Sheesh. Thank goodness for this collar!.

… then you must give this collar a try!This is my story of what’s Seresto did for us: October 2020, Charlie first came to my yard and I adopted him as a stray when nobody claimed him. He was an outdoor cat for 3 years before I took him in and never seemed to have flea- related issues.

After I had him fixed chipped and taken care of at the vet, I made him an indoor/outdoor cat. I had him on Revolution Plus, but for some reason he developed terrible crusty, itchy sores on his face and neck that he never seemed to have before I adopted him.

It turned out to be flea dermatitis, and even with the Revolution Plus he would still get them. He also would get tapeworm from the fleas and at that point we had enough. The only solution for us was to make him permanently indoors.

We realized pretty soon that he was getting aggressive towards my other cats, extremely hyper, and seemed to develop what looked like depression, longingly looking out the window all day long and eating out of boredom, putting on a lot of weight.

After doing a bunch of research I decided to give Seresto a try. Life changing! He has been wearing the collar for two weeks and I have not seen any kind of sores on him or any fleas. Of course Seresto doesn’t do all the other things that RP does, but I am OK with that.

I was worried that he would lose his collar because he has never kept a collar on the entire time I had him, but Seresto is made different and we haven’t had any problems. If you have tried everything and your cat is still dealing with fleas, I suggest you give this a try.

Charlie is a happy camper being able to go out again and I am so glad that Seresto is working for him and us. I love that he gets to have his freedom again.

Great flea and tick collar for cats. Collar is a cute light grey color and is much slimmer than other collars I have seen which is really nice since my cat was not a big fan of wearing a collar. The little can the collar comes in has easy to follow instructions as well as these wonderful reflective clips you can add to the collar to hold down the end part if it sticks out too much or if you want to see your sweet kitty goes outdoors and you want to be able to spot them at night (thinking of when they cross a street and a car is coming).

The most important though is how really well this collar has worked to keep fleas and ticks off my cat. Within 24hrs my cat had serious relief from the critters that were bothering her and making her scratch herself.

She was so bothered by fleas and/or ticks that she was loosing hair on her lower belly. Now she significantly has decreased her scratching. I haven’t seen any fleas on her (and she goes on daily adventures outside).

Her lost hair is now growing back as well. I am super happy I bought this collar. I had hesitated because it is pricey but oh is it worth it! I had tried the monthly liquid flea products you place in between the cat’s shoulder blades and that was torture as my cat would absolutely hate it and it would cause her to scratch and lick the area I placed the product and she would also lose hair there too.

But not with this collar. Not only does she not seemed bothered by it but it has had no negative side effects of hair shedding. The collar lasts 8 months so I don’t have to remember to reapply flea treatment every month.

I would definitely purchase this collar again and would highly recommend it to others.

I’ve been using this for a couple months and I think it works great. I’ve tried frontline and I was lucky if it worked for 2 weeks. We live near a preserve so we have a hard time controlling the fleas but this works exceptionally well.

I also use HomeoPet Wrm Clear as needed because although all flea meds kill fleas, it does nothing for preventing worms obtained by eating new infected fleas that get in. Perfect combo for our 3 cats.

I use this on my adult cat and it keeps her flea free. She likes going outside a bit and she never gets anything on her. I’m going to use it on my kitten as soon as he’s old enough. It’s simple to apply.

Either old or non effective product protection didnt even last 2 weeks on 3 cats 3-6lbs.

I was shocked when I found a product with the same active ingredient as Revolution for 1/3 of the price, and it works! My only complaint is that it caused my little Punky to have a vomiting and lethargy episode about 6 hours after administration.

She puked about 4 times in 1 to 2 hour intervals, slept, and didn’t want to eat or play. She was back to normal and fine the next day. I know that side effects are a risk with any medication but she never had any side effects on her usual Revolution <5 lb 15 mg dose.

This was her first time on the 5 – 15 lb 45 mg dose instead of her usual 15 mg dose, and that may have been too much for her. She only weighs 6 lbs so it could’ve been too high of a dose as I’m sure the dosage can vary from animal to animal! I’m going to talk to my vet about the 30 mg dose Revolt has for dogs since it has the exact same ingredients in it but at a lower dose (Selamectin, Butylated Hydroxytoluene, Isopropyl Alcohol) Over all, I recommend and I’m glad I found this very affordable alternative! Save some money and still have great protection!.

My indoor/outdoor cat has been on Revolt since April 2022 to July 2022. We used to use Revolution for our cat, but the price was getting out of control. After the patent expired for Revolution, Revolt (Aurora Pharmaceutical) began manufacturing flea control using the exact ingredients as Revolution, the primary ingredient being Selemectin.

I can attest this works just as well as Revolution. No fleas, no ear mites, no intestinal parasites. And it’s HALF the price of Revolution. It does prevent the American dog tick, among others. Cats are extremely unlikely to get deer ticks.

Revolt (Selamectin) has been an excellent choice do use on my golden retriever. Heartworm prevention, and we have flea and tick infestations; I have yet to find a flea on her. The ticks that do end up on her do not get to attach and are easy to remove or they die off.

Revolt also takes care of ear mites, which for dogs that have floppy ears can be an issue so this is an added bonus with this product. She has had no side effects as other products of caused seizures.

I highly recommend this product.
