These small plugs are irresistable to trout. Due to a tighter wobble they can run in faster water than other kwikfish and flatfish plugs without compromising action. These are my go to trout baits in creeks nearby but they catch everything that swims.

I have been using Seaguar Gold Label Fluorocarbon for three years now. I was using a twelve pound leader of another brand for stealth reasons. Because I can no longer walk the Salmon River to chase the salmon,I lost a lot of them.

I started using the fifteen pound Seaguar(. 011) inch diameter leader,and now stand my ground, and land some larger salmon( up to the mid 30lb. range. Great knot strength,stealth, and flexability. If you fish for the big ones, try it, it is the Best.

Incredible Abrasion Resistance that is true to every word. I fought a Steel- Head Yesterday on this Springs run hear in Northern Ohio. I was ill prepared with the little trout size landing net so I had to let this 28 inch Steel-Head fight her way to the tired point of netting her.

In the process she drug me up and down the river. At one point she bolted for a Beaver dam and I thought for sure the tippet would have snapped. Outstanding this Seaguar Blue Label 15 pound 15FC50 645879156504.

Seaguar fluorocarbon is great here in SOCAL for tuna fishing. The 30 pound diameter is thicker than yo-zuri 30 pound but smaller than AFTCO 30 pound so if you are looking for a good middle ground on leader line in this line class then Seaguar is the way to go.

This one is only in the 25Y spool but I typically buy the 100Y spool as fluorocarbon is practically a must have here in San Diego when out on the water.

I used these for one trip to Cabo. I came back with none. The mates insisted that they had to keep them. It didn’t matter where they were run in the spread fish were drawn to them. I do have to say they caught several dorado but no bill fish actually hooked up on them.

We did catch nine or ten in the course of the week and evey fish came in onto one of these lures. Pitch baits were then tossed to get the hookup. One time just after releasing one marlin we found three more watching two of these lures that were hanging in the water.

These bait work great with the bait and switch system with circle hooks. only draw back–Barbs on the hooks are weak.

I can’t believe this crazy lure catches fish but it does. Sailfish, dolphin, bonita and tuna. so far. Probably needs a stronger hook and some stronger 100-150lb test leader. I lost 2 fish that took the lures with them.

One hook broke, one leader broke. The other 3 I caught. Crazy looking but does catch fish.

this is a very high quality product with only one disadvantage. this rig is great i was able to get a bite from the elusiive early bird wahoo. but the product failed set. i belive otherwise that was caused from the fact that we were trolling at 11 knmots and the product was made for a max of 10.

Best artificial ballyhoo out there. but is a one timer for toothy fish since the wahoo bite the ballyhoo in half and cut the skirt.

This thing has been catching fish for years and continues to excel in castability effectiveness, and just plain reliability.

These Kastmaster lures are the best color combinations for trout fishing I have found. The lures were reasonably priced, shipping was quick, and I’m pleased.

The classic Tony Acetta spoon still hammers the Striped Bass in the Chesapeake Bay. They come in a variety of sizes and this one matched the hatch late this fall as the tiny baitfish moved out of the rivers.

The Tony was purchased by Luhrs Jenson and is now produced overseas but neither I nor the fish seemed to tell the difference. Still a quality lure. The only weak point is the hook which will rust if not religiously rinsed and dried after use.

I wish that the loose hooks were still sold as replacement parts.

This is quite a surprise in lures. It moves like it’s floating in running water and works wonders in catching white-bass. This is my go/to when other lures fail to be effective. Enjoy your fishing.

Over the years this was my favorite spoon for white bass. HOWEVER, I have found the NUNGRESSER spoons just as effective and for half price in 2 packs. Since I fish two spoons at a time, you can see why I prefer the less expensive brand.

Lastly,I wish Academy would carry them or a clone and a few years back they did carry one that worked but never as good as the NUNGRESSER with as good a quality. Plus, I might add a sharper and stronger hooks on their spoons.

Weeds tend to gather at the front more so than frogs. Because of this, the bottom of spider (legs) became unglued from body. I took gorilla glue and replaced bottom of spider and it seems to be holding up okay.

The spider needs constant attention in between casts but I have caught a few largemouth on it. Fun novelty but I won’t purchase again.

This is a decent lure. You really would expect more from a ~$10 lure though. Upon opening the package and tying it on, the glue holding the spider in place easily broke and the plastic body slid back onto the shaft of the hook.

When this happened, water would force itself into the front of the plastic body when attempting to work it and it would fill with water and just sink after a few light jerks. I couldn’t use it anymore that day and had to put some Gorilla Glue on it to hold it in place after.

Now it’s performing well. Especially in heavier pressured ponds. I definitely recommend it, but it’s ridiculous that Lunkerhunt allows this (somewhat common) problem to occur in the first place. Be ready with some strong super glue when yours eventually breaks form its original position on the hook as well.

If you don’t accidentally do it, a bass/fish will.

I bought the Lunkerhunt Phantom Spider Topwater Hollow Boy Arachnid Fang 2¼” lure and I think it’s great! It is extremely realistic, casts easily, has a lot of movement and is truly weedless. The only slight drawbacks I’ve experienced have been that it sometimes it’s upside down when reeling it in, and I’ve had to squeeze water out of the body sometimes in between casts.

However, I like this one so much I bought a smaller version to try! I can’t wait for warmer weather to tempt those big bass!.

This is a go to lure for smaller to medium size Calif Halibut and striped bass from the surf. Anglers tend to throw giant baits thinking 20 lbers and end up missing out on nice quality keepers which are feeding are smaller baits found in the surf.

They cast well and come in numerous colors to match the hatch on the bait fish. Best deal is they only cost $5. 00 in a time when some Lures can run $20. 00 or more.

We own many brands of lures. Most are very good. A few are excellent. Krocodile is one of the excellent. We primarily fish the Eastern Sierra. Krocodile lures will catch fish weather trolling or casting.

Last fall I fished Panguitch Lake in Southern Utah. I got a late start, somewhere around 10:00 am. I was told that the bite was slow. I did not see many bent rods. I dropped anchor and cast a Krocodile.

First cast, fish on! I have no idea how many cutthroats I caught and released. Other fishermen weren’t as busy as was I with my Krocodiles. Krocodiles were the only lures I used on that trip; they were the only lures I had to use! Krocodiles will catch fish.

I recommend them without reservation.

Looks good. I haven’t had a chance to use it yet. Appreciate the included siwash hook which can be used to replace the treble hook.

I bought the 30 and 40 model. They are supposed to dive to their depth with 100ft of line out. With 100ft of line they only go about half the depth they are supposed to. They also have a lot of drag, that is a small issue when compared to the fact that they do not dive to the correct depth.

UNknown – Haven’t had tie to try it out yet. Preparing for upcoming Salmon season

I recently bought 5 of these chatterbaits. By far the best brand out there. I’ve tried the Booyah Melee, Strike King’s Thunder Cricket, but none of them have the action of this one. These are more weedless running through grass, they have a stronger vibration, and unlike the Booyah Melee, they do not roll.

All the others I’ve bought either roll and do nothing, or just not do anything at all. And for the price, they are very good quality. Sometimes, I don’t even put a trailer on, because of how much these do by themselves.

Very impressed and will be buying more in the future from Discount Tackle.

been using these for steelhead and stream trout in our local water. has a great wobble action that fish love. I like the frog type style and the blue / silver for both trout and steelhead. can`t go wrong.

Just like the old Flatfish lures your Dad or Grandpa has in the box. These work! Whether cast or trolled, these will get deep and stir things up. Not only do they catch walleye and muskie; you can catch LMB on these too.

If you like to tinker with your lures; you can add weight to these and make them suspend instead of float; that makes them even deadlier especially on deeper water when casting.

I use the buck tail version. Unfortunately the manufacturing process has been “modernized” and the buck tail quickly disappears as you use the lure. One or two fishing trips is about all it takes. Additionally, the lure starts showing signs of rust at this point.

It’s a shame because they used to last forever. Now these lures have always been overpriced, and there is longer a reason to pay the premium. I’ll just get the similar ones at less than half the price and put a better hook.

Sometimes schooling spanish mackerel are keyed in on very small glass minnows. Your typical lures may just be too large to get bites; even though you know the spanish are around they can be quite picky.

This is the exact situation where I use this lure. Throw it out, reel it fast and don’t stop, and buy an extra or two or tie with some wire because you will get bitten off. Also know that you will likely not catch the biggest spanish or kings with this lure again because of the small size, if you’re looking for bigger fish a trolled yo-zuri crystal minnow is your best friend.

My all time favorite lure. I’ve been using all the different sizes and weights of this lure for forty years and counting. I’ve probably caught thousands of fish with it. From 20lb blues in the Atlantic to different kinds of trout on the Farmington river in Connecticut.

I highly recommend this lure to all anglers.

First of all I fish the surf, mainly for pompano. They aren’t big so I don’t need real heavy line. However, I do want 20lb in case of a hook up with a red drum or something large. My main goal was to have a thin line and the.

41 mm or. 016 this is thin. My next goal was to have a bright line that I could see and more importantly, the birds could see. I don’t like untangling pelicans, terns and seagulls and they don’t like it either.

This like is pretty bright, and not all flourescent lines are bright. Its IGFA so it does break at 20lb on the nose so consider that also. Some 20lb lines break at 30-40lbs so go figure. I use this in my baitcasters, I have not used it on spinning reels so I can’t comment there.

Its does cast beautifully so I will be using this unless I find something better. I do use And Ghost as a leader, the fish are the only ones I do t want seeing my line. Give it a shot, I like it so far.

I use the Hi-Seas product for many, many years in different type of characteristics. From line for spearguns in 300lbs of resistant to little tackle fishing in a small river. The brand are synonym of HI quality.

The Grand Slam 20lbs is not a exception. For spinning in the surf are the best.

I like this mono line as I use it for spot, kingfish, croakers and other smaller saltwater fish. Also use it for perch and catfish fishing on the Delaware river. Typically, I notice that mono line wears out a lot faster when fishing in saltwater.

However, I haven’t notice the same wear progression with this line. To be specific, it wears but the line is much tougher. I would purchase this line again.

Reverse the hook position on the spoon – with the hook on the front end and the terminal line end where the hook use to be. Works well with a single (siwash) with this method as well. It will give you different speed ranges and more options when jigging.

Regardless of which end you have the hook on, use a “pumping”, or jerk/retrieve action to change things up. Think Jerkbait and make sure you have the rod tip in front, keeping the line tight so you don’t have slack line and miss strikes.

Regardless of presentation method, or species, it gives the spoon a different look. Very effective when casting for early pike in shallow bays. Slow things down if you are jigging, or casting in deeper water.

I bought two of these in addition to some William’s Wobblers to troll for pike in Canada. Wobblers work great, I’ve used them for years. I bought the Doctor Spoon because they had it in a green froglike color that Wobblers were not available in.

Tried to troll them several times hooked at either end as it stated you could. This spoon was virtually useless, could not keep it down in the water. I suppose I could have added weight but then you end up picking grass off your line all day because I fish a grass bottom lake.

Probably one of the worst performing lures I’ve ever purchased. Very disappointed, complete waste of money.

We tried many lures, and by far the most productive lure for big walleyes and northerns in all the boats was the Dr. Spoon. We tried jointed minnows, other spoons, crank baits, and various other lures.

I was the last one to convert to the Doctor, but aside from the Red Eye Wiggler, the Doctor consistently produced +5 lb walleyes and the most northern strikes of all. I am buying more now!!! You should too!.

I recently purchased one of the Michigan Stinger spoons online from Bass Pro. They come in a multitude of colors and several sizes. I have successfully used these spoons trolling for walleyes on Lake Erie for years.

And, several of my fishing friends have been won over to these spoons because they’ve seen my success. Bass Pro offers these spoons at a good price. You should try them.

Michigan Stinger spoons are one of the best on the market. Live in Indiana and troll these on Wabash river, St. Joseph and on the reservoirs. It’s nice that they come in variety of sizes, have caught plenty of fish on them.

Have caught various species- cats, crappie, stripers and pike. Best speeds 1 to 2. 2, we run the spoons behind dipseys an trip divers 10ft-12ft leaders.

Functionality is good based on results. This spoon design in the larger size has consistently produced walleye > 17” ( my personal minimum) in the central basin of Lake Erie. I get two of every color when I restock my tackle.

While there many spoons that work well. A dream weaver spoon is always somewhere in my spread. I have High confidence in these lures.

I haven’t yet used the ones I just purchased, but I bought some last year and used them in July on the beautiful west coast of British Columbia, and they work well. I will use these this July in Rivers Inlet BC.

I have always been a ‘gear fisherman”, preferring lures to bait, and these spoons always work well. Understand that these are not winter feeder salmon, these are spawners, and tend to bite more out of aggression than for eating.

They have done plenty of eating in spring, so you have to have good action on a lure to get them to strike. These have it. Use good line, and a flasher also won’t hurt in front of a spoon. Hang on when you hook up.

I know guys who use these on the great lakes for trout and salmon but I tried them last year in Ontario and caught a lot of big pike and walleyes on them. Nice thing is you can cast them or troll them and man hold on to your rod.

My favorite is the greasy chicken. It has the perfect colors and flash for the lakes I fish in Northwest Ontario.
