20 Best Filter For Lennox Furnace (2023 Updated)

This Lennox filter is well made and while I typically only get about 9 months out of them instead of the 12 months they recommend, it’s probably just a personal preference on my end.

Fits our Lenox perfectly. Slightly difficult to replace for the first time. I mean I had to stop and think, and what guy does that in mid project.

This is the identical filter (right down to the same part number) which came with the new air handler when we replaced our air conditioner/heat pump. There was a significant reduction in the amount of dust on our furniture starting with the first use of the new system over the old one.

The old filters were about 1″ thick and the new one is about 5″ thick. The new filter lasted right at 6 months during the use of the A. C. and the heat as winter came on. The cost of the 1″ pleated filters was about $9 and the 5″ filter was about $31 to $35 and the 1″ were being changed every 4 to 6 weeks so the cost for a 6 month time frame is very close to the same and the 5″ far out performs the 1″ ones.

Bought what was said to be equal to a Skuttle filter. This was a completr waste of money. One filter was shredded trying to put in and the other one didn’t come close. Don’t wast your time.

Very inexpensive and it is a MERV 11 filter. I definitely prefer the Lennox MERV filter with its MERV 16 rating, but its cost is considerably more. The problem I have is two Husky dogs that shed like crazy once the warm weather rolls around.

These dogs will quickly terminate the life of any air filter during warm weather, so I compromised by using this excellent filter for summer use, and the MERV 16 one for the rest of the year.

This product is the same branded and built product as what Lennox markets. I checked the size for the product 16x25x5 and compared it to a $160 Merv 16 filter from a Lennox dealer and it’s the same dimensions.

These filters although noted to be 16x 25 x 5 they are in reality measuring about 1/2 inch undersize but again that is how these filters come! Not an issue! Update 1-19-2019. I checked and the filters aren’t exact size and shouldn’t be because the cabinet they go into has a small shelf that it sits on and the end cap that closes the enclosure has a foam pad that pushes against the end of the filter completely sealing this filter all the way around!.

Good filters, though they clog up quicker than one would like. Ideally, one filter per year would be about right (especially in parts of the country where you need heat for several months but rarely need A/C), but the finer the filter, the more gunk that gets caught–not much one can do about that.

And you do not want to be breathing in the crap that gets caught in the filter. If someone made a decent quality knock-off of this intentionally odd filter size (non standard size done to force you to buy the Lennox brand) for a good price, I would switch to those in a heartbeat.

High-quality product, heavy-duty construction. Expensive can buy a carton of six Merv 11 filters for around the same price, but the Lennox filters are much sturdy than the less expensive ones.

I ordered this with a doubt whether this is original or not as this is coming for less than other vendors. Shipment was very quick. and I compared (inch by inch) this filter with my existing filter and i dont see any diff.

I bought this for $141(2 filters) all while other vendors are selling it for $100 (1 filter).

I have used these filters for a number of years now, and while I toy with the idea of using a less expensive filter, I always return to these, primarily because we have a wood stove we burn in the winter time, and this filter/furnace on low (running continuously) helps distribute the heat evenly, as well as cut down markedly on the winter time dust that we always collect in our house.

I’d give this 5 stars except for the price (however, the seller’s price made this annual purchase must less painful!).

The price is high for just one filter but anything much cheaper will not clean as well or last as long. With 4 dogs in our house maintaining a well functioning filter system is very important, That goes for everyone, actually, so, I suppose, we all spend the money especially if you own your house and get a quality product.

MERV-16 + carbon coating is exactly what you want to really filter your air. Make sure your blower can handle it, lowering the furnace speed to about 35% and running 7×24 really worked wonders with the California Wildfires last summer.

AQI outside was 200-400, and indoors (with fan running 7×24, blue painters tape on leaky windows/sliding glass doors) was a very happy 25-70. When AQI was 125 outside, indoors improved to 5-12 AQI. If you don’t have a 5″ think furnace filter, get the 20x20x5″, a standard 20″ box fan, and tape the fan to blow through the filter (ensure airflow matches arrow on the filter).

Run on low 7×24, and you will be very very happy. Can’t promise anything with COVID protection, as I’m not qualified, but if the choice is this, vs something basic and MERV-8, this wins. Most of the HVAC contractors are recommending MERV-13 for office buildings.

So beware of excessive pressure drop across the filter, need to change more often, and watch the equipment temperature — restricted airflow will freeze the AC coils, or overheat the furnace, or just burn out the blower motor.

We just replaced our 9 year old builder grade HVAC system with a new Carrier Infinity variable speed system and upgraded the filter from a good Honeywell MERV-11 media filter, which we changed every 3 months, to this better Lennox Healthy Climate Carbon MERV-16 media filter and hoping to get 6 months of use, as the filter is supposed to last up to 12 months, but we like to change more frequently due to allergies.

Although the MERV-16 filter is quite a bit more expensive, we wanted something a little better to help control allergy symptoms and dust in the house and hopefully not have to change as often to help offset the higher cost.

We suggest you shop around for the best price as prices vary widely. Walmart online was the cheapest we found at the time. The carbon is also supposed to help make the air smell cleaner. So far we can say we have noticed an improvement in the indoor air, perhaps partially because of the new HVAC system and partially this filter.

Time will tell if it truly does outperform and proves it’s worth of the higher price. Something else that makes this filter better, is that because of the way it is made with the many rows of vertical pleats, it causes very little air pressure drop, so it should not affect the indoor blower fan as much as even the pleated 1 inch filters do.

The reason I did not give it 5 stars is only because it is more difficult to tell when the filter should be changed as the carbon makes the filter black on one side and gray on the other side, so you cannot just go by sight, but I think this filter (or a generic brand) may also come in a white (non-carbon) version.

The Lennox X6675 Carbon Clean 16 MERV filter fits the larger Honeywell Electronic Air Cleaner. The Lennox X6675 has a very high MERV rating for a whole household system. Higher rated filters are for special use such as a hospitals, other limited application and require higher performance furnaces that are not generally found in households.

This filter is about three times as expensive as a Lennox MERV 13 Filter; however, the Lennox MERV 16 Filter has significant more square feet of surface filter and therefore should last 2 to 3 times as long as the less expensive filter.

Actual performance would depend on many factors including the presence of pets, wall to wall carpeting and the cleaning routine in the household. The carbon coating also adds to the performance of the filter.

I am purchasing this high performance filter for a parent that has COPD.

I bought a 4-pack of 20x25x6 Merv 8 filters. They were all damaged in shipment and I reported the problem. New replacement filters were sent and I received the new undamaged filters within a few days.

However, the new filters required that I add a foam ~3/4 inch high trim at the top and bottom to seal the furnace opening. I also compared the Filterbuy units with my old (used) Merv 8 Indigo filter; the Indego was much better made: it fit perfectly, and it was more structually ridgid and substantial.

It was only slightly more expensive as well (2 pack for about $55. 00).

The construction of the pleats in the filters is quite poor. Some are glued very close together others are far apart. Equal spacing is what they should be to get the most filter area & make the filter efficient.

I’m disappointed in the poor construction quality of these USA made filters. Filterbuy please look at your quality control on the FC40R1011 filters. It’s not up to your standards. The purchase process & shipping was quick which was great.

I have been using this filter since replacing my AC unit in 2012. I have changed the filter cartridge annually while tracking the weight gain of the entire cartridge (old filter weight at change minus the recorded weight when installed new).

The weight gain is 2. 1 oz/year average. (In fact, I believe one could double the filter change time period). At each change I visually inspect the surface condition of the evaporator coils. each inspection has shown immaculately clean fins.

During several routine maintenance calls, the side of the evaporator (unit inside the garage) unit has been exposed to up-close inspection of the fan motor, fan and ducting downstream of the filter, all very clean requiring no additional cleaning.

Inside the house the dust accumulation has been minimal compared to “before-the-filter” filtration 6 to 8 MERV 1 inch thick grocery store filters changed several times per year. No mold or other odors have been detectable since 16 MERV filter upgrade.

The long term advantages of having this high-end filter outweigh the cost difference in aggravation of changing cheaper, less efficient filters with the long term accumulation of dust in the ducts (source of nutrients for mold).

Upgrade to 16 MERV system and use this cartridge or other size of 16 MERV Lennox filter. This is the industry top-rated filter and well worth it.

Let’s be honest, no one likes paying this much for an attic AC filter! BUT. I put the HEPA unit on our new AC system for a reason. This is a better price than Amazon offers. And most importantly, these work! I can get a full year of use from 1 Lennox filter.

I have tried 3 other models of Honeywell filters and not one lasted this long, was this sturdy, or had this much activated carbon filtration media. I’ve seen the results!.

These filters are usually more expensive and are good quality.

The Lennox Y6604 merv 16 air conditioner filters are expensive and somewhat difficult to install. That is only because they are very precise in their measurements and leave little space for air to escape without passing thru the filter.

As far as price, what is it worth to be able to breathe. They are priceless for people that have breathing problems.

Excellent product. With family members suffering from asthmatic symptoms, and have pets, this filter does the job and then some in conjunction with the U/U light system. Pricing was very competitive, and the customer service was excellent.

I plan on using this vendor again for my future needs.

This filter works well for a couple of months, after that, nothing like the claims. They recommend changing out every year or 12 months. We stretch ours to last 4 months. Would love to find another filter that fits and stop paying 108.

Have been using these filters for several years because they provide good filtering in our dusty and pollen laden environment. If you have mold in your area of the country I would recommend having the ultraviolet light system installed in your air handling unit to cut down on that problem.

I tried to get a year out of filters like recommended, but found that they collect so much particulate matter in 6 months, that I now change filters somewhere between 3 and 5 months. Your mileage may vary due to conditions in your location.

Good air flow should help keep your equipment in better operational condition.

These filters are not as advertised. They are undersized. Measure 20X19X4. 5 inches and permit air to flow around them in my HVAC system. The filter that they were to replace fits snugly and these do not.

I will not use them and will return them and purchase the original brand.

Excellent, practically HEPA-like, filtration and long life were characteristics that readily came to mind for description of this item. The unit that was removed from service was still working well even though it was a YEAR past its recommended service life.

The interior of the house remained dust free during that extended period of operation that included both forced-air heat for about 5. 5 months and air conditioning for about 3 months for each of the 2 years that the unit was installed.

The inside of the natural gas furnace was so clean that it appeared as if new. I was impressed.

We have four dogs and allergies. If we change the filter regularly we minimize our allergic reaction to dust mites etc. It works for us and we’d never use anything less than a genuine Lennox filter.

After some flooding recently the odor started in the basement and traveled via the HVAC system to the entire house. I bought this filter for my Airbear and it worked great. Yes we cleaned up the mess in the basement first, but the house started to smell much better after the HVAC started to circulate and clean the air.

It costs more but is well worth it!.
